    Regarding the Performance.:
    As i can tell you the Performance mode is not working as should it be has a lot of bugs. Horrible aliasing at 60 fps. A New performance update it's necessary to be done to this game.

    Nothing wrong with the game, it's just not good compared to Zero Dawn, which offers one of the best stories in video game history, Forbidden West's story is really weak...and the voice acting is probably one of the most awkward things I have seen...

    Could have been a great game, but the story is just weak sauce, and that is what made Zero Dawn a perfect game...

    I really wanted to play this game, after the first part I remained in anticipation of the continuation of the series of games. But in Kazakhstan they have disabled the ability to buy the game on-line, and I am very upset. I hope in the near future Sony will solve something with the problem of buying games in their store

    Aloy was already quite an unpleasant and boring character, but when they made a stereotypical lesbian out of her, interest in this franchise completely disappeared.

    How do people play these boring games. There is nothing original here. It’s not fun to go to a location, and then have the game tell you “go get these three different components now.” Even Aloy gets annoyed with the game, and she is the hero.

    Basically a repeat of the first game but with prettier graphics. Put it down after 3 hours of boring repetitive side content on top of mediocre story.

    Trash, graphics don't make a video game. Years later, and I still cannot find anything this game does well.

    Story, pointless cliché
    Gameplay, boring and repetitive.
    Graphics, pretty great. However nice graphics does not create fun, else you can just go outside where graphics is 10/10

    The game graphic is blurry on PS5, and even Performance mode can rarely help it. Stupid mounting ever as a small obstacle can just block the ride and even makes the unexpected turn. Aloy takes forever to stand up after a hit. The climbing is not responsive any more, sometimes Aloy will just hang up there doing nothing, even when I pressed the buttons so many times to finish the climb ontoThe game graphic is blurry on PS5, and even Performance mode can rarely help it.     the characters are lifeless, apparently there are no resources for this - it’s good to write a character! Grind! Constant "exclamation marks" in the menu, as you pick something up, the sign is right there, even if it's a repeated game kapets !!! I bought (WHY THEN) DLC and I can’t play it without going through the whole game    what's good about this game?! The picture is not everywhere!

    biggest disappointment in awhile. I had very high expectations. The story is bland and unimaginative, the game play is very boring. Even the lauded graphic are underwhelming.

It's beautiful, yes, absolutely polished. A polished turd. Not an open world as it claims, as you cannot go anywhere the developers don't want you to go. Aloy has become useless, and it's sad. She was amazing and now as a character she is limited. I guess Sony was bothered by a strong woman. What's frustrating is that at one point she can do everything, climb to the highest peak, and then you run into a small rock that a six year old could climb and she can't do it. Being forced to have to only use the yellow grab bars to climb like an old Nintendo game ruins the gameplay and gets extremely frustrating. An example would be the Restless Weald relic. You have to jump up to a rope that is blocked by the doorway and because she is so extremely limited it's impossible. Apparently Sony doesn't think women are smart enough to, yknow, reach. She has become a damsel in distress rather than the badass banger she was. This is very disappointing. A huge step backwards for Sony, who is clearly losing their edge as their getting wiped by Xbox. After this, I'm honestly not excited about anymore PS Exclusives. They just don't care anymore and just produce crap like LJN. I just hope some of these other "gamers" expand their library and play a properly developed game.… Expand

    If you are interested in 30 fps gaming, ubisoft level of repetitive gaming, Horizon Forbidden West is for you. I am not even gonna mention this game is using checkboard 1800p which is absolutely looking blurry as hell. PS5 hardware can not even run last generation game at 4k 60 fps. Overall this game is so boring, combats are awful, story is very linear, aloy looks weird and talk too much

    I find this game as a large DLC with way too much talking. Game is way too open and just reminds me of any generic open world game. I did indeed love the first game, but to compared to it it just doesn't have the same magic in my opinion.

    Great colorfull graphics. And that's it. Childish story telling and very very very boring story and dialogues. Some times the dialogues are cringe af.
    The only reason to play it, is for killing your time and just to say "I finished it".
    Compared to games like witcher 3, the last of us.. How the hell you rate this so high??!

    I had a great experience with the game itself, but the DLC left me feeling terrible. I am not prejudiced against homosexuality, but I feel there was no reason for the main character to be a lesbian. It felt forced and unnatural.

I recomend to ease combat difficulty to negate pointless number crunching part of the game. More things to gather and craft, what for? It's not a survival or immersive sim. Half of the map is a boring desert, as in Zero Dawn.

It's very dumb because 1) she talks casually as a monster literally 100 times her size is trying to kill her, even as she's running around on screen and talking like she's sitting in a chair and 2) she talks so much it's like the game thinks you are a dumb person unable to figure out how to play the game. It really breaks any kind of immersion they were going for with the game.

    My other main complaint cannot be understated, and that is Aloy's face. She looks like a potato. I don't know what is going on with the design of her face, because her body is fine but they put my 9th grade English teacher's head on a normal body. There's one scene where she's making all kinds of derpy faces as she's interacting with some sort of furry antifa looking group. I missed what was even going on with the story because of how distracting Aloy's face became.

    My recommendation if you haven't bought this yet, get it on sale or buy a used copy since it obviously sold very well so there are a lot of copies in circulation.    … Expand

    Amazing graphics but i got boring after playing 5 hours. First water mechanics are pretty bad and buggy as **** specially when it force you to explore deep water, ps5 controller have alot of lag input ....walking around feels slow and empty sometimes...the game try to be very heavy rpg with alot to learn...

    Aloy has become an anoying **** charecter that just complains the whole time even months after release, game still had gamr breaking bugs. Very dissapointed aszero dawn was one of my all time favourites.

    The game mechanics are enjoyable. It gets ruined by the classic political agenda that cannot stay away even from post-apocalyptic games. Character development is inexistent and secondary characters are empty. Side quests have an amount of dialogue both unnecessary and pretentious.

    I liked first game but Forbidden West is boring and dull. I don't like dialogues, i don't like side quest and i don't like pase and sequence of the plot. The game is not for fans of first game but for who then? For sjw activists? because the only thing that i see clearly is "diversity".

I'll echo a sentiment I see in a lot of other reviews: looks great and the music is good, but just not much fun to play and the story is lacking. I've looked up videos of how the game wants you to use combat, and I don't find it fun. If you do, I can see why you would find this game amazing.     Those who gave this game a 10/10 either haven't played the first game or they have an agenda. Everything but the graphics are a downgrade from the first game. New mechanics are clunky, the user interface is ridiculous, the story is meh. They've tried to do too much and failed.

    I enjoyed the first game but roughly 5 years after the original release I have gotten sick of the "checklist" style list of things to do and boring/elongated dialogue for even the most minimal side characters. The visuals and combat carry the game.

    Probably the biggest disappointment in awhile. I had very high expectations. The story is bland and unimaginative, the game play is very boring. Even the lauded graphic are underwhelming. Really dropped the ball here.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I enjoyed Aloy’s first journey so much and I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one! However, while the map and sceneries were absolutely gorgeous, specially while flying around on a Sunwing. Unfortunately the story and characters failed to get me hooked like the first one did. The saddest part of the game was the ultimate message Guerrilla conveyed to the players which was obviously inspired by The Last of Us 2 and forced them to twist the story and ruin such a great game just like last of us 2 did. I'm afraid this is becoming a new trend and bad influence for players specially the younger generation. Sigh.… Expand

    All open-world games have turned into gum for idiots.
    Not one new idea or something, so that after half an hour it doesn't get boring. Modern AAA games are wasted time.
    And only Indies are sometimes surprised, but they lack elaboration of details and quality.

    All the screenwriters are extinct, like dinosaurs.
    There were only "effective managers" and "character designers" or "clothing designers" - I don't know.
    But definitely not game designers. They didn't even touch this game, didn't even see it, and didn't even pass by to give the developers a slap on the head.
    Play ENSLAVED Odyssey to the West or Genshin Impact instead.

    But not in this **** which is not even 10% the level of Sony and PS.

    There is no limit to my indignation. With all the typical beauty
    of "HORIZON FORBIDDEN WEST", the eyes get used to it after 10 minutes and the game does not even try to surprise.

    Absolutely everything in it is done on the dump, probably except for the model of the main character and animation. Only Ubisoft can do worse.

    So a new fashion has also gone, when the games are completely different for the first 2 hours and after 2 hours. The first 2 hours of the game may even be interesting, but not later. All so that you can't get the money back.
    This game shows right away how lame it is and you realize that 100 hours of repetitions are waiting for you.

    Loved HZD but this one lost the magic. Looks good but the cut scenes are jerky. Too much effort went into making a politically correct story/NPC interaction but the result is bland and boring. Got so sick of hearing every NPC call her Savior. Cool new machines but they lack personally and just spin and jump without tells.

    To start off I am a big fan of Zero Dawn, played it 3 times and have acquired 100% completion, it's a great game... with that Forbidden West is a DOWNGRADE from that experience.

    1. This game reeks of development scope creep, things are so much more over complicated then in Zero Dawn, they should keep K.I.S.S. acronym in mind when developing. 2. My favorite play style has been GUTTED!    To start off I am a big fan of Zero Dawn, played it 3 times and have acquired 100% completion, it's a great game... with that Forbidden West is a DOWNGRADE from that experience.

    2. My favorite play style has been GUTTED! There may be a "Infiltrator Skill Tree" but unless you plan to draw out fights for 5+ minutes, then direct combat is the only viable way to play now. Robots are afraid of tall grass, difficult to coax them in close enough even with stone throws, every bow ability breaks your cover, silent strike with fully upgraded spear abilities can't one shot trash mobs especially in later game (This is on normal remember). Stealth ability you unlock, even fully upgraded does not seem to work on Robots.

    Other game plays have been gutted as well, if you like traps then your in for a shock as well, the deployment limits are very low now, the days of placing a few bombs and a full set of Tripcaster traps are gone and over.

    3. Weapons are a joke compared to Zero Dawn, they added in some interesting new gear but the standard ones from Zero Dawn are a joke.. having weapons just for one ammo type and flooding the game with variations is abysmal, and with the new upgrade system just adds to the grind to find upgrade materials. If I was Aloy I would make a trip back home to pick up the trusted and true weapons from Zero Dawn before trekking into the west.

    4. The game is not balanced, playing on normal and robots HP and Attack feel like "The Frozen Wilds" DLC on Ultra-Hard.. getting one shot by a Fanghorn in the starting area should not happen on normal difficulty

    5. Inventory management has been taken out of the hands of the player. You can only carry 1 stack of any item the remainder magically gets transported to your stash (Talk about immersion breaking - Horizon meets Harry Potter). Typically this is not an issue but if you like a specific type of ammo you may run out of the crafting materials when out in the field. They should have kept the old inventory system and have Aloy travel to the rest areas (There are many on the map) to deposit extras you don't want to carry.

    6. way... way.. way too many variation add on patches for weapons and armor

    7. Aloy gaining advanced tech through skill tree. Aloy is a user not a developer, a scientist, or an engineer... any sci-fi like gear should be acquired through diving into ruins or pilfering from dead enemies (This does happen in the game, the only one I am ok with story wise)

    8. Valor system sucks, I don't mind that you need to built it up but the use of a skill that uses Valor should NOT be on a timer all the time. For example... Stealth field should be on a timer but you should have the ability to turn it off to save Valor, Shield should just give you a direct heath buff / shield, bow abilities that say "5 shots" should last the 5 shots. The fact that every Valor skill is on a timer means you are being rushed to get your value out of it, as mentioned seems they favor / push the player always into direct frontal combat.

    9. Some NPC audio has a metallic reverb in it as if they where not recorded in a proper sound studio, they should have redone those parts, being out in the open and the NPC sounding like their in a metal box is very apparent.

    Addition to reaching endgame / finally
    - Too many weapons again, and spend hours and days grinding for the upgrades
    - Colosseum combat is a mess, its just a brawl where Alloy spends most of her time face down in the dirt and stunned. Game auto chooses your equipment if you have multiple in your inventory, and the end fight of every category set gear is chosen, if you don't have a particular weapon then you simply loose a weapon slot and you are even more handicapped, also any upgrades you may have done to weapons or gear for those fights DO NOT count.
    - The melee completion fights start off as normal and progress to Ultra hard at the end, I like many others had to set difficulty to Easy just to pass them.
    - Story started off ok but then went sideways for me, did not like the Ted Faro plot and many other end game points.

    (For all this garbage I have reduced my rating from a 6 to a 4, I have learned to hate this game)

    New things I like

    1. As mentioned some new weapons like the Javelins are fun additions.

    2. New and interesting Robots, always a plus

    3. Underwater play now

    4. Visually stunning as always, climbing to the highest peak and viewing the landscape is breath taking.

    Closing
    I love the visuals of the game but I can't stop thinking "I wish this played like Zero Dawn" constantly, at times I feel like I am hate binging playing the game just for the story. GG has hinted at a 3rd game, they have burnt my faith away with this game and will not buy the next game with ought serious reviewing it first    … Expand

    Quests are derivative. Gameplay reminiscent of the 2000 era. Do yourself a favor and buy Elden Ring instead. This game is nothing but a quick cash-grab by a lazy developer who likes to borrow ideas from others, because there aren't creative to begin with.
    At least with the first game you kinda felt the effort. With this? It just wastes your time with a dull story, bad overall quest design, stupendous Ai where robots stand still while you fire arrows in their skulls, dozens of bugs & glitches, horrible and confusing UI, lackluster melee combat and multiple crashes all for $70.     the game has beautiful graphics... but is kind of repetitive, the story is good but kind of the same and the same

    Just wanted to mention about the mini game, there is nothing fun with chasing figures on a board, it has confusing rules, your opponent can win only because he has more patiente and he is runing out all over the board. nothing like the good old gwent

    Horizon has enchanted me again. After a slow start, a graphically beautiful, sophisticated sequel comes, polished in every aspect, and underscored by a great soundtrack on top of that. The sequel was simply a success. Everything that worked before works even slightly better now. [Issue#317]

    Horizon Forbidden West is exactly what everyone thought it would be: an amazing game. It has an open world with plenty of things to do and places to explore, fights against some really well-developed machines and stunning visuals. The feeling is that the second game of the series improves on what was already great, and it feels rewarding and fun to play. It is another single-player masterpiece from Sony.
