    If a game isn't playable does it really exist? I WAS enjoying the hell out of the game but suddenly can't play it due to outright incompetence and greediness of the developer. Shame on you for making a beautiful, fun to play game that suddenly isn't playable!

    Paid $100 for a game I cannot currently play for over 24 hours with no word from the horrible developers.
    They decreased payouts for racing, aiming to push for more micro transactions. I will be requesting a full refund.

    Long time Gran Turismo fan, been playing since the 90's. In principle this game is great, however as with many others here, I have found myself very disappointed with the microtransaction model they have taken. I was warned about it in reviews before purchasing the game but when I saw it with my own eyes I was surprised how far they took it.     29 hours downtime for a Triple A game worth $125AUD not long out if release. Now it seems to be the game is pushing towards micro-transactions with the nerfing of credits. Upset have played this franchise since I was a child.

    I bought the special edition for BRL499, almost half a minimum monthly payout. I cannot play this game for the last two days cause DRM/server issue, but it is a single player game too! There is lack of content, lots of problems regarding payouts. I am very sad because i bought the PS5 thinking about this game.

    This game was supposed to be a return to form for the franchise but is falling far short of that. The driving is great, everything else is down right bad though. Little to no SP campaign, no endurance races, no B-spec, no cup series, a fraction of the cars as older games. Couple that with always online requirement, pitiful MTs and server outages and it equals a disgusting cash grab.     100 Euro für 25thAnni Version verlangen und dann noch so 'nen künstlichen Druck erzeugen für den Kauf der Ingame-Währung ist 'ne Frechheit. Die Preisgelder sind insgesamt zu niedrig angesetzt, da braucht keiner mit Langzeitmotivation kommen. Hätte ich gerade Zugang zu GT7 (Wartungsarbeiten dauern länger als geplant), dann hätte ich hier nichts geschrieben. Warum macht man hier den Fehler und kommuniziert den Status der Wartungsarbeiten nicht sauber und öfter? Die wenigsten Menschen haben Probleme damit wenn's länger dauert, aber ein regelmäßiges Feedback darf da nicht fehlen.

    Absolutely great game for the last two weeks, but being offline for over 24 hours meaning the game cant be played, plus introducing all these horrible microtransactions has ruined the goodwill of fans like myself who have been playing the series since the original on PS1.

The developers spent two weeks watching which races people were grinding to earn credits - then cynically nerfed the rewards for all of them to channel people who'd already paid top dollar for the game into spending even more real money.     1.) You CANNOT play the game if you are not connected to their servers, including single-player. This is idiotic and I hope folks reading this are discouraged from buying GT7 after reading the multitude of reviews saying this same thing.

    2.) It's blatantly obvious that they are pushing for a "pay to win" format. The most recent patch material reduced the payout for the few races that were actually paying OK. They appear to be doing everything in their power to push microtransactions on a player base that has already paid $80 for the damn game, as the current format would have you grinding for days/weeks for one expensive car. Some of us actually work for a living and simply do NOT have time for that grind. I guess we're exactly who they're targeting with their mtx push, but I'm not taking part in that mess.

    3.) The game itself has lost its "soul". I don't know how else to describe it, but I've never been less enthusiastic about a GT game, and I've been playing them for over a decade now. Every race is the exact same thing. Start in the back of the pack and weave your way through traffic as you complete your "time trial." The game feels vapid and almost solely focused on PD taking every dime out of your pocket that they can.

    Long story short, as of March 22, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME IN ITS CURRENT STATE. This is trash and I'm hoping I can save a few people a few bucks by taking the time to write this review.    … Expand

    Adding always on-line as mandatory, and increasing the grind to obtain the in game currency. And worst, doing that after the media reviews appraising the game, configures FRAUD and abuse of their customers and fans good will. SONY just nerfed the Gran Turismo IP.

I had absolutely no idea that literally 90% of this game is only playable online so if I don’t have a internet connection, I am only limited to barely 10% of what this game has to offer. This wasn’t stated anywhere in the PlayStation store before I preordered and bought the game. On top of this, after the last update where I found out the majority of the game can only be played online, the people at polyfony digital decided to cut literally EVERY single race that was somewhat efficient in making in game money instead of balancing the lesser paying races. This company did all of this purposefully after every review company had posted a favorable review for them & now they r treating their customers as if they were slaves to earn virtual cars in their game. To polygons digital & Sony: this will be the first and last time I ever buy a game within months of it releasing and it might even be the last time I buy a game from ur store ever because this keeps happening across so many games Sony allows on their store. This is heartbreaking for this to happen in gaming, games were supposed to be a haven and now that’s being manipulated and abused. The past couple releases, battlefield 2042, Babylon’s fall, and gran turismo 7 have really made me not want to play games anymore. Wow.    … Expand

    This is my first review on this site, this is how strongly I am annoyed at this game.
    I bought this game on launch to play. It's a racing game I played as a child and it seemed like a nice nostalgia trip. When I was in highschool I bought a used PS3 just to play this game! That's how much I loved it.

    I bought this game on launch to play. It's a racing game I played as a child and it seemed like a nice nostalgia trip. When I was in highschool I bought a used PS3 just to play this game! That's how much I loved it.

    My first few hours with the game where great. I had a great time, the racing was fun. The money was a tad grindy but really not bad for what I was needing the money for.

    I took a break due to life for a few days and an update came out. 1.06. "Sweet!" I thought to myself, there might be some new content or at the least bug fixes! I was wrong.

    1.06 broke licensing, the gateway to progressing the game. All rally license tests where swapped from dirt tires to road tires. I spent literally 4 hours trying to pass a test because it seemed ungodly hard (I already got the previous 2 rally tests done without an issue). Watching the example I couldn't do anything close to what they where doing and it was infuriating. Near the end of the 4 hours I said screw it, maybe someone online has something to say about how to do this and I'm just bad? After a quick google search I found the bug and that it was broken.

    So I put the game down and thought to myself, "I'll just wait for it to get patched."
    2 weeks later they release 1.07. "Sweet" I think to myself, they patched the issue that was stopping me from progressing!

    Turns out they also kneecapped the payouts to races. Which up to this point, EVERY TIME you get paid you get to see the "Top up balance" option under your money just reminding you to spend a little cash to progress faster! Which I didn't really mind as I didn't have to grind that hard to progress. And without grind the game wouldn't be as fun. But now you make money sometimes 50% slower than before. That's disgusting.

    TLDR: was a chidlhood fan, if they don't undo their greed I WILL NEVER purchase this game again. Adding to that, I will never purchase a playstation ever again, as this removes any desire I have to own one! And I'll stick to PC gaming. Where at least I can undo game breaking updates. which I've never experienced before this point in my life.

    P.S. If they undo the extra greed they did to payouts I'll give most of the points back. But a game breaking bug that doesn't get patched for weeks after launch is brutal for any game.    … Expand

    Welcome to modern gaming. The customer is a victim. This is the second, and last, game I’ve preordered. I stupidly thought I could trust the GT brand. Lesson learned. I don’t have time to grind so I’m going to walk away from the game until the meta vehicles are established. Then I’ll buy them with the credits I have saved and race them. I’ll enjoy other games until then.

I keep getting disconnected from online daily races just before it starts or just after it finishes. It ruined my SR rating as a result and I was dropped from S to C and I have to race against idiots again. Also it is veryI payed £70 for a worst version of GT Sport.     Things were bad enough on the 'grinding' front but then v1.07... no idea why they are pushing this micro transaction route, it's a too tier tittle for the PlayStation and it's becoming unplayable for the average player. Also the requirement to be online to do single player career is extremely frustrating to say the least. Been a live long GT fan but now feeling really disappointed.

    Honestly, I didn't enjoy the game since I realize that everyday when I open the game is to find the quickest way to earn money, nothing else.
    Thank you Polyphony for ruin one of my favorite game. Now I'm going to check Forza's download progress.

    To unlock everything, you'll need over 300 million credits, which is 2340 hours by your count. If you consider that you grind 50% and do 50% other stuff, you get 4680 hours. That's 6.4 hours a day, 2 years straight. **** that.

    So I wanted to do another 3h 24h endurance race on N24 (8x time compression). I set the whole thing up, weather carefully selected to have lots of rain this time. Selecting a nice mixed grid from my garage, all the highest pp cars I have so far. And then I want to race and see my current car is still the fish rally car. Can't change it I press go race, the game informs me you can't use dirt tires on this track and throws me out, resetting all settings. FFS.

    Shame on you PD, this long time fan has really had it with you right now. Yes I'll still do my race, I was smart enough to take a screenshot of my weather 'program' (random didn't generate a drop of rain last time) so will fill in all the details yet again. But have a nice 1 star review added on top of the rest.

    Shameless micro transactions on top of a terrible in game economy and always online requirements so I couldn't even do a custom endurance race during the down time. Worst GT game yet.    … Expand

    The AI drivers in the game are also useless. Around some tracks you'll overlap them as they are unable to make it around some tricky corners. In the advertising for Gran Turismo 7, Sony heavily promoted the 'Sophy AI' that beat some of the best sim racers in the world. Unfortunately you will not find 'Sophy' in this game and there is no confirmation that it will be included in this instalment in the future.

    The online racing is a step back from GT Sport as the game allows for tuning cars (which conveniently is expensive in the game) meaning those with the best set ups for their cars have a significant advantage. In comparison, the predecessor GT Sport had remarkably balanced online racing.

    Do yourself a favour, avoid this game until it is fixed, and instead buy a second hand PS2 and find a copy of Gran Turismo 4 (2004).    … Expand

Even if you purely grind, it'll take you upwards of 10 hours (just doing the same event over and over) to afford but one of these cars. Also in the most recent update changes were made to make grinding take even longer, a disgustingly cynical move showcasing the greed currently infecting the gaming industry.

    The event list and career mode are barren to say the least, a fraction of the races that were available even in the particularly underwhelming GT Sport 'career mode', with numerous tracks not selected for a single race, and whole categories of cars (GR.2; GR.1; classic racers; Vision GT cars) not given any races, almost as if the developers forgot they existed despite a Vision GT car being on the box art!

    Engine swaps are in the game... although the caveat being they are only attainable through a lottery ticket system. This system has 6 tiers of ticket, with 1 of 5 prizes available in each ticket. You get one ticket a day.... that's it. You cannot pick your prize, and engine swaps are only available in the top 3 tiers of tickets. This means you only have a 50% chance of even SEEING an engine swap in the draw, and if you do it's only a 20% chance of aquiring one. I cannot fathom how anyone thought this was a good way to give you content.

    when the game was launched, it was pretty good despite the scripted roulette tickets. But since 1.07 the rewards for all races have been halved while "legendary" vehicles easily cost 12 million cr. the game encourages us to spend real money. as if that weren't enough the last update crashed the game for 2 days without the possibility of playing offline (apart from the music mode). whywhen the game was launched, it was pretty good despite the scripted roulette tickets.     25 years of loyalty towards Polyphony and Sony… and they reward us with a punch on the nose with micro transaction’s and not allowing us to play past bedtime. I’m as angry with them as I was with my parents who stopped me playing 25 years ago.

    Sold it once it become pay to win. I paid £70 for this, and they treat it like a free to play.

    Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

    Gran Turismo 7 brings to the tracks every single thing fans always wanted: the GT Mode everyone loves, plenty of customization options, car loads, classic scenarios and one of the best DualSense and 3D Audio experiences the PS5 has to offer. This is the best Gran Turismo experience we have ever seen in a long time.

    Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
