    Base game is great (Cars, tracks, graphics, sound, physics, etc.). However, saw articles right off the bat about microtransactions and was initially concerned which nearly stopped me buying. However, reviews were convincing enough about the quality of the game and even though it was grindy it wasn't totally impossible to get some of the cars.

    Now post 1.07 it is very clear the direction    Base game is great (Cars, tracks, graphics, sound, physics, etc.). However, saw articles right off the bat about microtransactions and was initially concerned which nearly stopped me buying. However, reviews were convincing enough about the quality of the game and even though it was grindy it wasn't totally impossible to get some of the cars.

    Now post 1.07 it is very clear the direction this game is going in and it's extremely disheartening. Wish I had waited a few more weeks before pulling the trigger on this because nerfing payouts and increasing the focus on microtransactions is starting to ruin the game for me. The economy needs a complete overhaul. Until this changes think people need to stay away from this game altogether and very disappointed in Sony / PD.

    Update: I have updated my review to a 5/10 based on Polyphony's proposed show of faith. If they actually execute on it I would happily give this game a 10/10 and remove the negative components of my review above. I also encourage all users to do the same. For once, we have gotten a developer to listen to our feedback, so we had best reward them when they do so.

    I absolutely love the gameplay and have nothing but respect for the GT series. BUT...... the Microtransactions are absolutely disgusting. They released the game to reviewers prior to the Microtransactions being able to be seen, then they let them give the game high scores because they didn't know, then release the game and add some of the worst and most expensive Microtransactions I haveI absolutely love the gameplay and have nothing but respect for the GT series. They released the game to reviewers prior to the Microtransactions being able to be seen, then they let them give the game high scores because they didn't know, then release the game and add some of the worst and most expensive Microtransactions I have ever seen in a game and also lower all the payouts in the game. Online Races give you basically nothing in credits even if you win, like 12,0000 credits for 15 minutes work and then they charge you 1-20 million for most of the good/legendary Cars, 3 of which you actually need for a trophy in the game, thus making the platinum trophy almost unobtainable. To buy 1 car at 3million credits costs around £40 and to buy the 20m credit car it's around £155 FOR ONE CAR!!!! They say "We want to reflect the real world with car prices" but don't reflect the real world with race payouts, don't reflect the real world with the fact that you can't sell cars you own in this game and they also don't reflect the real world with car pricing accurately anyway because most GR.3 cars for example all cost the same price which wouldn't be the case in real life. They also give us the FOMO effect (fear of missing out) by making the rare and most expensive Cars rotate between stores and if you don't buy them it could be a while before they come back. This creates the sense of urgency with players to either spend real money to not miss out or... You guessed it, miss out. The daily reward for playing is a roulette ticket which is similar to a loot box. These roulettes give you the worst rewards 95% of the time and it doesn't even matter what rarity the roulette ticket is. Honestly if I had to make a list of all the things not to do with Microtransactions then Gran Turismo 7 has just done it for us. HOW THE MIGHTY HAVE FALLEN.

    Summary:
    - Low Reward payouts in game
    - Very Expensive Microtransactions in a full priced game
    - FOMO with rotating Stores
    - Online Race rewards are basically non existent
    - Can't sell your cars to make money
    - Fixed roulette wheels, that can give you duplicate cars that you can't even sell.
    - Nearly impossible Platinum Trophy due to the "Three Legendary Cars trophy".

    Thanks for listening to community input and fixing this beautiful game. Please update the roulette wheel - if the prize is predetermined (which it is) don’t bother with the wheel spin, it’s just wasting everyone’s time.
    GT7 is easily the best PS5 game released to date.

    I changed my review because they are trying to make it better with the new update. I hope they keep their promise because GT7 with less microtransactions is a good game.

    What content there is is very good, the game looks good and sounds amazing. Differences between the PS4 and PS5 probably could be bigger given the difference in hardware, on the flip side it runs amazingly well on the PS4. The problem is that after the menu book ends there is very little content left. The game feels unfinished in it's current state. Currently it's just a big grind and saving credits takes way too long. The always on-line aspect doesn't help it's score. It's not unreasonable to expect be a able to play the single user mode while servers are down. Polyphony do better ! EDIT: After 1.17 I'm increasing the rating to an 8, the game is in a much better state than when it was released, the updates are a bit hit or miss though. Some introduce game braking bugs, others give us amazing races like the 1 hour race at Spa and the excellent Watkins Glen race track. The economy is still an imbalanced mess and the daily reward system is more infuriating than rewarding, but overall I feel we are moving in the right direction although without much communication from PD and without some sort of red line in the updates.… Expand

    Wow 1.07 update just downgraded the earnings for every race by 25% or even more. You can't do that after release that's just criminal.
    Update: they are going to fix it, and everybody got some extra cash. It's good enough for me.

There was a 30 hour outage the other day with not one word on what was going on. Things happen, but not letting your customers know what is going on in an 80$ game for over a day is rediculous. These kids want everything for nothing. GT fans remember old titles and it’s always been the case that you have to win to earn and progress. You don’t get to own the Zonda as soon as you start the game. Ferarri, Bugatti, Mclaren, etc all have to be earned with many hours of driving.… Expand

    I am a long time fan of the Gran Turismo Franchise. I love the game, this can be patched to turn into a 10/10 game, but can't stand for the current in game currency.
    Edit: As of the latest patch, I appreciate the direction the game is going. Will leave it as a solid 8

    I have no issues with the game. Its not that hard to have an internet connection people. The game is designed in a way that you can't stop playing and that is how it should be.

    Beautiful Graphics, Astonishing Reality Fidelity, perfect for both offline and online competition! This is so far the best Car Driving Simulator Ever so far, totally recommended, just ignore the mad xbots review bombing, that's their pathetic and silly attempt to face greatness (as af it works lol)

    You should only buy this game if you want to play online against other human drivers. Everyone online player even in D Rating is a better and more important more fair driver than any of the KI.
    KI won’t get any Penalties but will crash you on every occasion. I drove a one hour race against KI right before posting this and got wrecked 5 times by the cpu.     One year later, this game proved to be amazing.
    Don’t bother to do microtransaction, you don’t need that and you can still have bunches of cars to race. Focus on the race instead of credits.

    I’m really quite blown away by how much of a blast I’ve been having with this game . I’m a newcomer to the series who has definitely had some struggles with some of the other more serious Racing games . You can really tell that there’s alot of passion in the makers of this game .     Micro transactions, payouts nerfed 2 weeks after launch, always online for no reason just came bite everyone (as expected) in the ass with a near 24 hour outage. Shame!

    I've loved this franchise for decades. Very disappointed that a shrink-wrapped full-priced AAA title shipped so incomplete. Anticipated a whole world opening up during/after menus but it's not in the game yet. I'm fine with additional transaction systems for cosmetics, but GT7 is pushing hard to get additional payments for core gameplay, so much that it starts to ruin unpaid mechanics.I've loved this franchise for decades.     Absolute masterpiece of a game. You learn so much about performance driving and manufacturer history. Beautiful tracks and love the trial mountain returning to the franchise! Also the music is so good in this game. Really love the feeling of the game.

    Only gripes are with the heavy MTX and always need for online mode. PD seems to listen to the community and try to make changes for the    Absolute masterpiece of a game. You learn so much about performance driving and manufacturer history. Beautiful tracks and love the trial mountain returning to the franchise! Also the music is so good in this game. Really love the feeling of the game.

Léquipe ont donner 1million de crédit a tout les joueurs pour s’excuser, donc non le jeux ne mérite pas detre si mal noté, le mode sport qui est génial,les courses en ligne sont tres bien. Le seul petit défaut cest que le jeux nest pas long, je lai vite fini,mais il y a le mode sport, mission pour s’amuser. Les modifications des véhicules sont cool. Les musiques sont tres bien… Expand

    This is more of a honest review, for someone who has play a GT game before, but not a huge fan of the series.

    Pros -Game looks amazing on the PS5 - Controls are very good and responsive, and supports different control layouts and drive wheels - Did not run into any glitches/bugs - Very accessible in terms of having easy modes and assist like automatic breaking - Hardly any load    This is more of a honest review, for someone who has play a GT game before, but not a huge fan of the series.

    Pros
    -Game looks amazing on the PS5
    - Controls are very good and responsive, and supports different control layouts and drive wheels
    - Did not run into any glitches/bugs
    - Very accessible in terms of having easy modes and assist like automatic breaking
    - Hardly any load times on the PS5
    - This is a surprising aspect, but I actually like the photo/camera mode, I generally find these modes as more gimmicks are just whatever who cares, but it's actually well designed where you can take well timed photos of your races. Like a good example would be crossing the finish line.
    - Music is great, love the classical music, and the intro was smartly done
    - Always liked having to unlock cars, instead of having most readily available

    Cons
    - A few too many clicks/menu screens to get to the next race, although not a huge deal considering the PS5 has basically no load times, but this could of been condensed/designed better.
    -loooool we gonna really use stock photos for characters with no voice acting. come on now I mean I get the idea but they could of designed like actual characters that you talk to for the story mode.
    - very small complaint but very odd choice that you cannot skip the intro of the game which is several minutes long, and you have to go into settings to make it where it doesn't play each time you load the game.

    Overall, it's what I expecting, and that's what I wanted. Ignore the negative reviews as those are just stupid or they have never played a GT game before and have unrealistic ideas of what this game was supposed to be.    … Expand

    Todo lo que se espera de un gran turismo y más. Tiene mucho cariño y mimo en todos sus cojces y modos como la historia, aunque tiene ciertos aspectos que se podrían mejorar como el aspecto gráfico y alguna mejora en la cámara externa pilotando, fallos sin importancia para la gran experiencia global que te aporta como fan de la saga.

    Those who gave it 0 should be completely ignored. why? here are some of their reasons:

    PS4 players deserved a real Gran Turismo experience. Of course, the new gen version couldnt be so ahead of the old gen for obvious reasons, but it's clear that it pushes the PS4 to it's limits (and beyond) and PS5 with a good gap for the next game.
    I love Forza Motorsport series, but the big difference between both games is that Forza is pure racing, and    Gran Turismo formula is back!

    I love Forza Motorsport series, but the big difference between both games is that Forza is pure racing, and GT is pure automobile passion and history.

    As a car lover, I rather the second option. GT7 provides this, a game that you enjoy on and outside the track, enjoying the culture of cars and it's universe. The progression is not so easy like Forza, it's hard go get money and good cars at the start. And thats pretty good at all! You feel more connect to the game and take value in your actions and choices, making you give more importance to your garage and car list/upgrades.

    In Forza, I have cars in garage that I never drove, lots and lots of infinite money and absolutely no reason to think next moves or upgrades on cars, you can just buy a faster one and it's done.

    GT7 is not perfect, of course. The microtransactions it's a shame thing. The starter races are so easy and that classic thing of start in last place it's totaly out of reality of real racing. Imagine if all the races in the real world the last racer tooks the podium? Something would be TOTALY wrong.

    But why I gave a 10? Well, a mix of nostalgia and satisfaction of it's deep respect and depth in car culture. GT7 is a love letter to the old fans (like me, a kid from the 90's), a good welcome for the new players that love cars and a promissing game if you think of whats next to come in the next years updates.    … Expand

    Technically speaking, the game is a masterpiece. The game runs at a native 4K resolution and has a rock-solid frame rate, being really hard to experience any drop. If RT mode is used, replays and gallery views are still rendered at 4K, though the frame rate is halved. Still, native 4K and RayTraced reflections are a tremendous achievement. Polycount-wise, the cars are more detailed than ever. Some models are based on the already stunning GT Sport cars, but unlike GT Sport, the gameplay LOD of these models is brilliant, even in full grids. The combination of materials and light is so real, you can almost touch them. Like in previous installments, the cars get more love then the scenery, however the lighting engine makes everything look gorgeous. Even though it is considered an intergenerational title, the game is more than on par with the latest Next-gen visuals, while being free from Forza Horizon's terrible popping and draw distance or the plastic-looking cars from most PC sims. Apart from car models and draw distance, the game features an amazing day-to-night cycle and dynamic weather transitions.
    Upcoming racing games are going to have a hard time trying to top Polyphony Digital's superb work.

    Gameplay-wise, the game mixes the classic Gran Turismo winning formula with interesting new additions, like the GT Cafe menu books. These menu books act like some sort of RPG quests. The game still allows you to compete-where-you-want while completing them, though the first ones act more like an 'on rails' guide while you unlock the main game features. The core mechanic of the game is the expected from GT: complete races and collect the 420+ featured vehicles. The game features a superb tuning system. From spoilers to hood clips, custom rims and an huge collection of mechanic parts, you can modify and customize everything in your ride. Heck, you can even swap engines and fine tune the headlight's light temperature. The livery editor returns, but with a higher decal limit and new options.

    The handling has also been reworked from GT Sport. For anyone who has played also some demanding racing sims, it's obvious this is a more "simcade" approach. However, when you turn off all driving assists, the game becomes more difficult but also extremely fun. You have to be carefull with oversteers, brake locking and so on.
    GT has always been friendly to gamepad players as well as wheel users, and this entry is no exception. Even better, the game makes a fantastic use of the Dualsense controller. I wasn't expecting a racing game to make such a good use of the Dualsense's capabilities, from haptics, to driving with the sixaxis, to the triggers. The haptic response is freaking awesome, it's only topped by Astro's playroom. You can almost even feel how each gear is engaged, how the car weight os transferred during hard turns... Everything.

    Moving on to sound, which was one of GT's biggest flaws in the past, the game shows huge improvements, even over those of GT Sport. Not only the engines, skids and overall car sounds are great (good riddance of the stupid vacuum cleaner jokes and the filthy lies of PS1 skid sounds being carried over), but also the game features a ton of ambient sounds and details. Stop for a while near a couple of trees and you can hear the birds chirp, the wind shaking the tree branches and helicopters and planes in the distance. Mute the music while it rains and you can hear the rain drops falling against your windshield and the wiper engine noise. Park inside a long tunnel and you can even hear a slight buzzing sound coming from an old light system. From flawed to outstanding, that's GT's sound evolution.

    There are two things I still dislike about GT's latest entry. First one is the visual damages on cars, which are very limited, like in GT Sport. The crash physics have improved but it's easy to see damage is not amont PD's improvement road yet. I don't care that much about this though, damage models for street cars in games are crap in almost every game save for BeamNG or Wreckfest.

    The second one is the AI and race duration. While some advanced events show huge AI improvements, the first half of the campaign is plagued with classic 'chase the rabbit' GT formula, something I hope gets better when Sophy's AI system is added to the game via update. I also miss much longer races and championships, as well as qualifying sessions from past GT's.

    Overall, this is a masterpiece for me. A well deserved entry for Sony's Next Gen console that I had been waiting for since almost 2011.    … Expand

    Incredible, one of the best looking games I’ve seen and the best looking racing game on the market. The weather, ray tracing, cars and tracks all look amazing.

    The music is so-so and the voice acting is ok but most of the sounds of the cars are done well.

    The gameplay on the tracks is better than ever. The cars handling can be extremely tricky at times and the AI is better than it was in GT Sport, making for some challenging races. Tuning has been added and is a great addition. You can really feel the changes you make to the car when racing. I don’t know how I feel about forced tuning in the online races but if they have two tuning races and two BOP races then I think multiplayer will continue to be as great as GT Sport.

    I wish that metacritic would restrict the access for users from Russia at least until they stop their war in Ukraine and retreat. Also wish that metacritic could clean up their comments so that we would have a clean score calculated based on the reviews from the civilised world.    … Expand

    Here we go again. Xbot fanboys review bombing. Excellent game. Absolutely stunning visuals, and no bugs!! Glorious 4k. Gameplay and controls very tight and responsive. I'm not even a racing fan and I'm having the time of my life. A must buy for the PS5 and PS4!

    A return to form for the series, very comprehensive single player campaign with a huge list of cars and track and it's great to see dynamic day night cycle make a comeback.

    A bit dissapointed with the AI it seems bareley improved over what we got in gran turismo 5 and they should really add some newer cars.

    Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

    Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
