    GT7 had so much potential, it's really disappointing how the end result turned out.

    To start, the technical underpinning is all there. It looks and sounds fabulous and the controls/physics work well on both gamepad and steering wheels. It all falls apart when it comes to content. To start, the game holds your hand all the way through the single player campaign.     To start, the game holds your hand all the way through the single player campaign. The majority of players are going to obtain the same exact cars in the same exact order. It's also got this broken Performance Point system that restricts you into using specific vehicles and tunes, a terrible departure from the original titles. It's not all terrible, at the very least it gives the player a sense of progress by giving everyone a constant feed of new cars and credits.

    This ends fairly quickly though. After a leisurely 20 hours of playing what feels like a tutorial, the credits roll. The prize cars and tickets dry up, and the real slog begins. Now you can do the same few races over and over again to grind for some of those cars in the Legend dealership, the most expensive of which will take around 12 hours of pure grinding before you can afford them. There are about 5 at that price at the time I'm writing this, and they're all "dynamically" priced, i.e. the price just keeps increasing over time.

    Then there's the UI, it's just awful, navigation is very clunky and unintuitive, especially if you're using a wheel with a d-pad. Be prepared to accidentally back out of the tuning shop a fair number of times, and waste a good bit of time going back and forth. The only thing that's easy to access in the entire UI is the microtransaction button. It's proudly presented every time you gain any credits, and is always two clicks away.

    How about the AI and constant rolling starts? Start from the back of the pack and work you way up, almost every single race. Then watch the AI suddenly rubberband and speed up on the final laps. Mario Kart did a better job back in 1992.

    I really don't know what to say, PD could have just given us an updated version of GT4 and it would have been perfect. Instead we have a compete regression, 1/5th the content and a heavy push towards microtransactions. It's oddly out of line with all the other great content we see from coming from the other Sony first party studios.    … Expand

    Cars costs like plains, you need to grind more and more credits for what? Another classic car, that drove like slow s**t or another fantasy cosmic car, that drove like very fast s**t? Roulette?     Tracks like Deep forest, Trial mountain are simply boooring and not the same as in previous GT parts. Like Tilke was rebuilding them.

    Sad, that even GT Sport was more fun, challenging and pleasure to play game. RWD physics in GT7 are broken, go-kart in GT7 is something terrible and not satisfying to drive.

    I loved Gran Turismo 7 so much. It's better than Gran Turismo Sport, because cars like the Mazda RX-8, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI TME, Nissan Silvia S15, etc. made a return. 1 year later, it is a disappointment. I hate Gran Turismo 7 so much. I will tell car fans about this. If you're disappointed about the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX, sell GT7. If you're disappointed about the HondaI loved Gran Turismo 7 so much.     This game feels cheap in every way, especially the control, and way behind the whole competition. It would’ve been okay maybe if it was released 10 years ago, but not now.

    $70 game with micro transactions, forcing you to sit through the intro and long cut scenes. Not worth it. Plenty of other racing games out there…“We’re not a racing game! We’re a simulator.” No you’re not and you’re not special. Get off your high horse Gran Turismo and Sony.

    Impossible to beat even campaign at easy level for casual gamer = instant 1 for me (call it normal or hard and thats ok)...
    Microtransations in full price game = 1...
    Played on PSVR2, at first it was awesome game, but later its just worthless.

    after a rough launch week with offline servers and lack of content, gt7 grown to be the game it was supposed to be at launch. it wasnt rushed by any means, but just not in touch with the community and the current times, gt6 came out 2013 and gt7 seems to be stuck at this time and age. now the game is in a much better state, but the lack of content if you dont race online still hits

    I am so tired of trying to like this game and even more tired of how pretentious it is. No fun to be had here. Small drip fed content with every update. Collect cars you will never use, drive them against boring bot A.I. that drive like they are in a funeral procession. Nothing but catch up sprint races where you always start in last place.     I was pumped for this game but it is garbage. Absolutely riddled with game ruining design choices. Everything feels half assed and reeks of microtransactions. Please save yourself the headache and get something else.

    I'm really disappointed with the game.

    First: Why impose a mandatory connection on us to play solo?

    It's dishonest and scandalous.

    Second: micro transactions and draws with tickets are rigged. We never have a good reward.

    Third: The lack of variety circuits in the city like Paris, London, New York... no circuit on the snow...

    Gt4, Gt5 and Gt6 are better and have more content.

    But GT7 managed to do something that no other game did: it made me so angry due to several issues. First, there's the connectivity problem. Even when playing in solo mode, it forces you to stay connected to the internet.
    They created various car categories, but there isn't a specific championship for them, which means you end up wasting money unnecessarily. And there's no option to create races of a specific class.
    When I say they only want professionals, try taking on the Nurbürgring challenge. I guarantee you'll end up driving over three hundred kilometers just to complete it. Want an even more challenging task? Try the one-hour mission at Lago Maggiore. But before you judge me and say I don't know how to play, disconnect your steering wheel and accessories and try to complete the races using just the controller. The game punishes you if you miss a braking point.
    I bitterly regret spending my money on Gran Turismo 7. I uninstalled it from my console and went back to Sport, although it has its flaws, they're not as glaring as those in GT7. I wouldn't recommend it!!!    … Expand

Your better off buying a PS3 and Play Gran Turismo 5 and 6. The PS3 can also run the PS1 version of Gran Turismo which is far better than GT7. They worked so hard licensing cars and tracks just for them not to be used or enjoyed, every detail is wasted because your main focus is to get as much credits on the highest paying race track, the easiest being LeMan.     It is full of dirty drivers and cheats that do nothing but wreck into you in the corners causing you to lose the entire race and your driver rating to go down. The current penalty system rewards the cheats, and punishes those who attempt to drive clean. Reporting this behavior does nothing.     I have put around 50h into the game. Single player AI is crap, slow, unaware, unnecessarily aggressive, you start at the back of the grid always and need to muscle your way to the top. Career mode is based on cafe menus, once you complete them there is not much reasons to return back to the game.

    I'm not satisfied, sadly. I think i managed to put 50h as I was forcing myself to play as I    I have put around 50h into the game.     Always online for the adventure mode ? No polyphony digital, pretty bad, the game is the same that GT Sport , outside camera it's horrible.

I mean for 70 gbp I basically received a car collection DLC for GT Sport.

    I will start off with the improvements.
    Dynamic weather and improved car customisation on both visual and performance. Oh and you get music rally which you play once and never again because it isn't even part of the game and gives you nothing for doing it. The licenses are slightly better. You also get another version of licenses but are for racing other people instead. The difficulty is allot harder overall in this game. The AI still isn't perfect but massively improved from GT sport. But they are still dumb enough to pay no attention to the player.
    Thats what you get for your 70 gbp.
    The bad sides. Oh here we go. Get the popcorn.
    The driving levels have been completely replaced with car collection levels. But you can buy cars with real money. So you can unlock everything in the game without even racing if your bank account is big enough. Now that is what I call pay to win.
    The AI can go around the track quicker then in GT sport but the player is still completely unnoticed by them so they will still break test you, ram you and basically treat you as if you don't exist.
    Most of the content in this game is just ripped from GT sport and it doesn't bring 70 gbp's worth to the table. We still have only got the Bugatti veyron. Why no super sport or Chiron?
    The roulette from GT sport has been replaced with some complete garbage that gives you the bottom prize 95% of the time (no exaggeration) I have done about 30 spins now and I have had 10k twice, other then that I have had 2k and 5k.
    The performance points "PP" system just doesn't work. The handling upgrades offers way to much performance points. So your car can have the max PP for a race but still get curb stomped by the AI due to low speed. This can lead people to confusion thinking they are bad at the game not realising that the AI doesn't balance to the speed of your car but instead balances to PP.
    The pre order cars are terrible and not even unique so people who pre ordered the digital version of the game basically got car's that don't stand a chance in competing against cars in the same category. You can't sell them either. Plus I got 100k which is basically a couple races in cash or £2 off the PS store. I think we should have gotten a car that was unique as a thank you for having faith in the company delivering a good product. Well my faith has gone in this company after this complete scam of a game. Everything is set up in order to squeeze more money from the consumer. Like repeating races the prize pool lowers each time. So now if you buy a car for 1 million credits it will be highly unlikely you get 1 million credits back from the same car. If GT sport had the same car customisation I would continue playing that.
    But they expanded the single player didn't they? yes and no. Technically it is longer but its just rinse and repeat. In GT sport you had different categories, a section for FR, a section for offroad, F1, classics, etc... On this everything is just slapped out in a moshpit of races. The mission cards are just the same tasks over and over except a different type of car each time. Do 3 races in a ford, do 3 races in a FR, do 3 races in a Porsche and that is all you get. Nothing else. There is no way to tell how far you have progressed in the campaign either. That's if you can call it a campaign. I would say its more just arcade races.
    I can't believe I am saying this but GT sport is arguably better. The AI balancing was better, the single player was better, the progression system was better, and it was focused on racing.
    GT7 just feels less rewarding for racing and there hasn't really been anything new that hasn't already been done in a previous GT game.

    Let me add aswell. It doesn't even tell you what weather that race so you bring out race tires and it chucks it down with rain. You could pit stop but because the AI aren't going to then youll fall miles behind and loose the race. Such an obvious thing to include is a weather cast for each race, especially when 1 of their huge bragging points in this game was how they massively improved weather and made it dynamic and stuff. Oh but they can't even tell you what tires to use? The amount of times I go into a race and I have to quit because its raining is ridiculous. Gran Turismo was always a reason to buy a Playstation but with how the series is going I think that is gonna change. Its supposed to be the top racing game but like all devs they get sloppy and greedy.    … Expand

Some cars will take 10+ hrs of grinding or >$180 real world currency to purchase. The daily reward roulette system is a joke as majority of cases you’ll be “rewarded” with the smallest prize.     Jogo irritante, fiquei mais tempo vendo história e dentro de um "café" do que jogando, e simplesmente parece que ao invés do carro correr é o cenário que corre, é Simplesmente BIZARRO, 300 reais jogados fora

The key missing feature is the Data Logger, which really helped you understand changes to driving and setup, it was disappointing that it didn't make it into the rush job that was GT sport but it's a crime that it's not in for the release of GT7.     The menu system is still as clunky as ever but we've all become used to that over the years. All the unnecessary fluff about car culture should of been put in a document on a side menu rather than in the main game and all the useful stuff about car handling should of been taken out of the side menu and put in the main game. It's sad to see so much effort put into Luca's road block content that you furiously try to skip over to get to the next bit of game.

    I've noticed people complaining about it being always online when in 2022 this is pretty much the norm, with cloud saves, etc. Also lots of fluff about micro transactions being in the game also but we had them in GT6 as well along with the really expensive cars.

    So yeah it's entertaining but it makes you wonder if Polyphony Digital have just been wasting time since GT6.

    Update: bombing the rating as it seems to be the only thing that PD / Sony notice. In the context of massively expensive cars out there and the massively high cost of credits, the item mall fails to understand the concept of micro transactions. Also the roulette random payouts are annoying, they take too long and 99% of the time you get junk.

    In light of the 1.07/1.08 update dumpster fire it seems that PD are unwilling to fix the issue with any urgency. While saying they don't want people to have to grind, they reduce the payouts to make people have to grind more, when in fact they should of been adding zeros to the payouts and removing them from the prices.    … Expand

    BUT!!! You have to always be online I paid £70 for a game that can be taken away from me if my internet goes down. UNACCEPTABLE MICRO-TRANSACTIONS I got hit with Mtx before the game had fully loaded! On my Home Screen asking me for real money if I want to buy credits. The game had not even fully downloaded and once it had you get hit all    Gameplay is graphics and sound is great.
    No bugs.

    I got hit with Mtx before the game had fully loaded! On my Home Screen asking me for real money if I want to buy credits. The game had not even fully downloaded and once it had you get hit all the time with the game asking you to spend real money. Some cars could cost you £40.
    Absolute joke wish there was an option to turn that off I am never paying for that crap. So I should be able to turn it off.    … Expand

It just cannot be that every day the reward is the worst one possible out of the five. Still very obviously intended to make people buy the rewards themselves.

    *Upping my score to a 6/10 because of the good will in the 1.09 patch. It is a great restart after messing up badly! If they continue to improve in april the score will go back to a 9/10*

    At the start it was a 9/10 but I decreased it to a 1/10 because of the aggressive transaction systems and always online requirement.
    The funny thing is that they implemented this transaction system AFTER all the positive reviews! And now they even further sharpened that aggressive system.. just.. what?.. Please do something about this! If not Sony or Polyphony then someone else force them to drop this moneygrabbing bs. People allready payed 70 euros or more for ghis game!
    To think I bought a PS5 for mainly this game! Right now I feel robbed and hope they fix the game. I want to adjust my score upwards..    … Expand

    I preordered PS5 disk version in Feb but on the release date i couldn't get it as Sony decided to cancel the release of the game in my country. After reading other players reviews i realise that i could be even good as i won't get greedy game (cost of the cars was already absurd in GT Sports) and Sony will not get my money.     If you want to platinum you HAVE to play sport mode (need to finish 50 races), but sport mode is terrible. You only get penalties for cutting tracks or overtake under yellow flag. There is NOTHING for unfair players and they know it. Even with GT3, Sport, this is honestly the first time I've felt that a GT game deserved a negative review. Few road cars from the last 5 years are present and the Gr.3 category is outdated. Menu design is not intuitive. Unacceptable AI for a 2022 racing game and a poor career mode called GT Café with no actual racing as you chase the rabbit and encounter rubber-banding AI. Online is a complete disaster, Sport Mode hasn't been improved from GT Sport and lobbies are backwards and mostly deserted by now. The grind is the worst of all GT games with low race payouts to encourage microtransaction purchases. FOMO everywhere. Split screen is broken. Not possible to sell cars unlike every other main GT game. Many QOL features from GT Sport missing from GT7. The soundtrack is poor and reusing mostly Daiki Kasho tracks. To top it all off, PD are out of touch with what the community wants. Either something changes with the management of PD or GT8 will not be any better.… Expand

There are only really 3 events that pay big $, and only one of them I would do for efficiency. I love Tokyo but Im tired of grinding that event. All other events are useless when you have cars that costs 20 million

    However earning money is still difficult and the thing that annoys me the most is the reward roulette!

    When you complete certain actions including your daily workout, I.e. drive roughly 26 km you get a price. In GT sport the daily workout resulted in a roulette of one of five cars. Now it is either car(s) , car parts or (always) money in different amounts. During my play and at least 18 roulette spins (one star and two star) I have consistently been awarded the lowest award which is worth next to nothing. I've been sitting, hoping against better judgement, that I would receive a good reward this time but alas no.

    It almost felt personal sitting there getting that low reward every time, feeling cheated, and realizing that they are so greedy that they mess with such a minor thing as the probabilitíes of the roulette.

    So all in all, according to others better than before, still irritatingly greedy in a way that has impacted my interest in playing further and in my opinion ruining the possibility of a good gaming experience. You can not have all the fun you as a gamer like and deserve without paying a lot of extra for an already AAA-priced game. Stay away for a bit longer and hope they keep adjusting.    … Expand

The problem is the "campaign" is short. There is no endurance races and there are no F1 or kart races for campaign.The game seems unfinished to get you to buy microtransactions and buy all the cars. The campaign does not offer enough for the amount of cars needed to complete your collection . The game is online only, and there are bugs that stop progression. One of the bugs prevents you from tuning a vehicle, which was a mission in the "campaign". Other bugs, prevent you from saving tuning loadouts and also change tires for a dirt rally license test. The User Interface does take up alot of the screen and cannot be customized. In multiplayer they have people that ride the walls without time penalties, this allows them to keep their top speed around turns. There is a two player split screen which is great, BUT YOU HAVE TO BE ONLINE FOR THAT. Changed score from 4/10 to 1/10 after they nerfed game… Expand

    Way below expectations, repetitive daily races, uncountable bugs, car physics (specially Gr3) is mostly trash and inconsistent and completely unrealistic, reward and ticket system is a jock, lack of many features (like random weather in online races). I was so passionate about the game but it didn't bring fun and joy to me. Disappointing.

    The driving is great as always, but the selection of cars is many variants of the same cars and the MTXs are a joke. OK they are not essential, but the game is a grindfest and has predatory pay to win mechanics, which isn't on in a full priced release.

    Real shame that this game is a cash grab as the graphics are decent and more importantly the mechanics are decent too.

    the always online DRM is a terrible decision from the developers and we should be able to play the single player campaign offline, that's the whole point of single player campaigns, the game feels stuck in the past and you can just go play any GT game without playing this new game and you will not feel a huge difference.

GT Sport has a very good multi player mode (despite the penalty system) with several years of data to use for GT7 but it is absolutely ridiculous how bad GT7 multi player is. Coupled with reduced payouts for races, overpriced cars and upgrades and the high cost of microtransactions, this is the most dissapointing edition of Gran Turismo.     車のコレクションを増やすためにCr.（ゲーム内クレジット）を貯めなければならず、ひたすらケーム内クレジットの金策をしなければならない状態で、製作会社のプロデューサーの山内氏が言っている事に反している！！
    難易度が高すぎるライセンス収得とミッションチャレンジ。
    子供にはかなり難しいです！！
    不具合が多すぎること・・・リアルを追求と有るがリアルではない！！
    ◆レースでのペナルティーだが、AI車には一切ペナルティがつかない。
    ◆ぶつけられた側にペナルティーが付加され、ぶつけた側にはペナルティーが付加されない事が多い・・・判定基準が不完全である。
    ◆ブルーフラッグが出ているのにAI車は、一切ラインを譲らない。
    ◆所有している車を売ることが出来ない。
    ◆ラフなドライビングをしてもSRのランクSが取れるので、オンラインレースがかなり荒れカオス状態になる。
    ◆リバリーを作成、保存時にフリーズし、時間を掛けて作成したデザインが不意になる事が多い
    　このフリーズ率は、Windows MEに匹敵する。
    ◆オンラインレースでレースがスタートできない事がが多く、その度にルームの開設しなおしが必要。
    上げれば、切りが無いほどの不具合が有ります。

    In general, I feel like the entire structure of the game is wrong, as if they suddenly made massive changes during development. NEVER BEEN SO PISSED OFF IN ALMOST 25 YEARS OF GAMING. CONGRATS, YOU GOT THE CROWN AND IT WILL BE ALL YOURS FOREVER.

    And of course, thanks Sony for all the lies and misleading info. Fix this game or you'll never get a cent from me again. There's nothing worse that playing with people feelings, especially when you advertised the game as a return to its roots.    … Expand

    I fired up this game today after being disgusted during my initial experience with the game and found that I have zero motivation to play it. Gran Turismo 7 has taught me that I can no longer buy games on release. I have to wait and see what the players are saying about a game before I decide to buy or not. There are over 8500 negative reviews on this game mostly, due to, microtransactions, small race payouts, and lack of one player content so I won't belabor points others have already made. The one aspect of the game that people seem to be ok with is the the actual gameplay. However, I think this is subpar as well and this is largely due to the AI. The AI does not serve as competition for the player, it is only there to provide an illusion of competition. The AI in this game randomly receives grip and speed boost making practicing on a track to get better almost pointless. It doesn't race other AI's or the player. When you grind a race, you notice cars behaving exactly the same over and over again. The AI is programed to do certain things at certain times. That's it. I think Polyphony has grown tired of making Gran Truismo so they made GT7 to put the franchise out to pasture. That's the only way any of this makes sense.… Expand

    Game has great driving physics, glorious hardware accelerated audio that is realistic, good dualsense controller execution and from a technical standpoint its amazing.

    However gameplaywise this game has completly and entirely failed to deliver a well made Singleplayer Campaign at all. Hence this Game only gets a 2 in its Score.     Sony has made the flagship race simulator franchise into an online-only, microtransaction-filled abomination.

    They said: "how can we maximize profits with this game?" And it reeks of corporate design. Say 'NO' to games that require an online connection. Say 'NO' to games that try to milk you with microtransactions, in-game "currency", etc. Pure shameless cash grab.

    Great core game like all the rest I've played in the series BUT these micro transactions, ridiculous grinding to buy overpriced cars, can't sell your cars, then you need to be online to access the main game.

Dreadful game design as it never feels fair or like an actual race.

    The microtransactions are also dreadfully implemented as without them, you will be grinding the same races again and again and again to try to keep up with the cost of buying, upgrading and maintaining your vehicles.

    That's not to mention smaller issues such as the very limited and low quality music or that the music challenges themselves are poorly executed and add nothing to the game in terms of variety.

    I've loved the Gran Turismo series since 1 and this is the most poorly designed yet. I bought a PS5 for this game and I am very disappointed in Polyphony Digital - they have lost significant credibility in my eyes as a developer and I won't trust them in future.    … Expand

    Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

    Gran Turismo 7 brings to the tracks every single thing fans always wanted: the GT Mode everyone loves, plenty of customization options, car loads, classic scenarios and one of the best DualSense and 3D Audio experiences the PS5 has to offer. This is the best Gran Turismo experience we have ever seen in a long time.

    Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
