If you think an “always-online” game can be a masterpiece, I’ve got some bad news for you. The jazzy music and history lessons doesn’t fool me and I want a game I can play 5-6 years down the line and still have the same amazing experience I had when I first loaded it up.     I signed up for a Metacritic account just to rate the game concerning it's horrible reward system. It is so bad and obvious how they want you to spend money on credits that I can only come to the conclusion they are hoping there are a massive amount of children and people with disabilities who are impulsive buyers or undiscerning. It's pretty sad when you have a reward system that is so greedy did it causes one to think about those who are mentally challenged or parents who are unaware they're checking account is about to get drained. It seems like Gran Turismo was thinking of those with special needs and the tragedies that surprise a single mother when they wake in the morning and their bank accounts drained because of a video game that is so greedy when it comes to their reward system that it's obvious they were thinking about the mentally disabled and impulsive buyers to make sure there is no door that's closed to avoid a single micro transaction. The ratio of money they will make from microtransactions compared to the odds of what the average player will make actually playing the game is obscene and disgusting and they should be ashamed of themselves to make such a good product for the sake of weaponizing it as a monetization scheme.… Expand

GT Planet thread shows you need $426,000,000 to buy all the cars. I’ve owned it since it’s release. No light at the end of the tunnel.

    The graphics are flawless. The racing is fun. Serious care went in to making every detail of this game as perfect as possible. It feels both modern yet nostalgic. Unfortunately the macro-transactions and engineered lack of initial content make this a 0/10 for me. The inability to enjoy the campaign without internet is unforgivable. Not only did they do neither of those but they nerfed payouts and made it where you can't sell reward cars which was a huge feature of the earlier games. This is a robbery of $70 ($100 in my case since I bought the 25th anniversary edition since I am a religous fan). I paid resell value for a PS5 because I wanted to play this game so bad. I genuinely feel lied to and swindled as someone who has gone out of their way to play every Gran Turismo. I have learned an expensive lesson. EDIT: the game has hardly improved from this.     We are going to see this **** happen more and more in the future. Yet another live service game filled with f**kin s**tty microtransactions that exploit its customer base to an nth degree. GT prides itself on being THE driving sim, yet there are literally ZERO physics in this game. How does a sim have no physics?     Same sentiments as everyone else. Was really looking forward to this game. Absolutely disappointed with the direction they decided to take with the franchise. I’ve never wanted a refund more than I do with this game. No one needs to give these POS any more money.

    The greed has entered GT series, and its nasty.
    Penalty system is still aweful, can't wrap my head around all the years of trial and error in GT sport didn't lead to anything bytter then this. Its actually GT sport sold twice, same cars and tracks, not much new. GG

    Rewards + micro transactions suck. I bought this game to relax from my daily real life grind, not to gain another grind for credits in order to be able to use cars in a game I already paid for. Fix it Polyphony/Sony or I’ll take an L and never play nor buy any more of your games again!

In the same time, I'm playing elden ring Wich is so big and without all this bull$hitt. I'm a big Sony fan but this is not ok.

    I played an enormous amount of Gran Turismo Sport, and I was excited for a "full GT experience" with a full numbered entry in the series. This was probably my most anticipated PS5 game from the moment it was announced.

    I was incredibly disappointed. There is no iteration on the Sport mode, so I had no real reason to get the new game. There is some enjoyment to be found in the    I played an enormous amount of Gran Turismo Sport, and I was excited for a "full GT experience" with a full numbered entry in the series. This was probably my most anticipated PS5 game from the moment it was announced.

    I was incredibly disappointed. There is no iteration on the Sport mode, so I had no real reason to get the new game. There is some enjoyment to be found in the licensing exams, but that's fleeting.

    The microtransactions are out of control in this game. The progression is slow. I bought a higher edition and got in game currency and ran out quickly. I cannot use the cars that I want to use without grinding or paying money. Some grinding would be ok, but not this much. Not even half this much.

    I got maybe 8 hours of enjoyment out of this game before the issues with it ruined my experience.

    It gets 2 points for that short period of time, but I can't justify any more.    … Expand

    If you see the game the same as the losers on here that give it zero, that's what you'll get. The game is a long journey that educates you on the motoring world, teaching you every aspect, then leaves you competing online in league competition that never ends. Most of the nay sayers don't get past the first two hours. B.U.Y.

    - FFB? It is non-existing at all since 1.15! Has anyone noticed that Circuit Experience on Tokyo Expressway is so unbearably impossible after 1.15 update, compared to before? Try it out again, if you have completed it before.

    - Silver prize in CE - what happened to it? Is it cursed or what? Why only gold and bronze?

    - why 15 laps/24 min. races instead of 24h? More competitive/strategic/historical endurance races with huge rewards would keep us pinned.

    - if the AI just barely touches you from behind or side, you immediately lose all control or spin out, even if you drive the truck and they drive the Mini! If you ram into them with full might, either from the side or behind, it is like you've hit the brick wall!? And that is what they call the real driving simulator!? Ahahaha. Maybe in some alternative universe...

    - there were so many lame bugs in the beginning, that it seemed they do not have a beta testing team at all! I created so many perfect Setting Sheets for so many cars, only to find out later they do not exist anymore!? Heeelloooo? Now I do not have a desire to do anything, it is like someone is sabotaging the whole project internally!

    - every AI always, but always tries to spin you out of track when you overtake them. They do not respect the blue flag at all, they even tend to block you not to lap them. Realistic sim driving for sure.

    - some very old games (for DOS/Windows 95), like Indy 500, Screamer, RBR, N4S Porsche have slightly better physics.

    - GT6, 5 and 4 were way more attractive, meaning this GT7 is just a graphics makeup of them, bringing nothing new except the tiresome Sports mode, non-functional multiplayer Lobby and useless and annoying offline mode, never-ever seen as such in the history of this world's gaming!

    - text speaking characters? Sarah reminding you to take a deep breath and try again?! So annoying and time consuming, that after seeing her, my only desire is to turn off the PS5 or play Mortal Kombat, if only it had the Sarah character to beat her up!

    - prices of most Legendary Cars are so unreasonably high, like it was meant not to have them. I cannot afford any new cars, just like in real life!

    - the purpose is micro transactions. What were they thinking? The naming is utterly wrong here! It should be renamed to Macro transactions, since you need to spend $200 to buy 20M credits in order to buy 1 legendary car! Hellooooo?! It should be forbidden by a UN charter of Human Rights. If you bought a game once, why should one pay more? Because management and development teams do not have enough imagination to create content interesting enough to intrigue you to play and play.

    - there is so much potential to implement many more interesting missions, historic races like 1000 Miglia, Monte Carlo races and rallies, the old Tour de France and many many more. But no, lack of imagination and ambition is what is more valuable or shall we say profitable.

    - some Gr.1 cars handle like a tart in cosmos hit by a meteor and AI drives them like blind drunk monkeys. Gr.3 and 4 cars being undrivable before the update to being more stable then Gr.2 cars after the update? If that was the case in real life there would be no racing in the world at all!

    - so much marketing noise about raytracing, where it only exists in demo cut-scenes and replays. It is basically the same as GT Sport or GT5 enhanced with 4K.

    - this game is not so much about racing, as it is a Pokémon of a game - collecting cars for a museum. It should have a slogan: Real Car-Collecting Museum! Why not connecting the earned/bought iconic car with unlocking a historic event where it shined/became famous?

    I have so many cars (that I did not buy!) distracting me when changing cars, that I just give up on racing and just close the game. Why not implement an option which can be turned off/on that the last chosen view (when changing cars) should be remembered? It is just a dozen lines of code.    … Expand

    If you can't afford expensive cars in real life, you won't afford it in this game either. You already payed for the game then you have to spend a lot of real money that is even more expensive than the base game to get the cars you want. Earning them by grinding does not even net you much credits.

    Sony better give us a refund for this game because in spite of the new patch they're adding, it doesn't change the game in a meaningful way and I still can't believe that I spent my hard earned money on a game that is charging more money just to enjoy it. Consumers are not stupid.

    You guys remember economy in past Gran Turismos? Where you could win more than once the same car in a championship? This time, you can still buy cars, but... can't sell them to make a quick buck to buy cars that you actually want.

    Events? You at launch had about 20 hours of content. Gran Turismo 4 for example has over 300. And 5 months down the line, you still barely scratch 50 hours with the updates added.

    10% of the entire car count is based on cars tuned from road cars by PD or fantasy cars that no car enthusiast cares about, some that borderline defy physic laws and destroy the entire concept of the VGT program itself.

    Quality of Life on this game like navigating between races, lobbies, custom races? Forget about it...

    This is a return to Gran Turismo origins? Not even close... The game at its core can be the best racing game ever made, and I say this with no exageration. But the design decisions ultimately destroy a legacy of a game once loved by the racing gaming community.

    On top of all this. For you to enjoy the single player content, you have to always be online. If your internet has some sort of bad connection or you simply don't have it, the game is literally unplayable.

The racing simulator physics in GT have long been the pinnacle of video game racing, but Pholyphony Digital seems to think this is enough to float their entire buisness. GT5, GT6, Sport, and now GT7, have all lacked any real progress toward aI have never written a review for a game before, but as a lifelong Gran Turismo player I feel obligated to share my disgust with this franchise. GT5, GT6, Sport, and now GT7, have all lacked any real progress toward a structurally good game. Racing "career" modes need improvements, such as qualifying races, standing starts, and more competitive AI. Instead, Polyphony has been re-releasing essentially the same game, over and over, with only graphical improvements. The only "new" additions to the game have been the mission mode and the track experience mode. Both of which are not related to any vehicle you have bought or spent time tuning, which further negates spending time to buy and tune cars... which is supposed to be the fun of these games. Of course the game economy is just salt in the wound: low credit earnings, inability to sell cars, overpriced cars, fake roulette prize system, and micro transaction encouragement. According to the tutorial system, the point of GT7 is to "collect" cars, which based on the economy system, is essentially impossible without spending real world money. Right now there is a massive hole in the Playstation racing simulator market. If one single developer released a GT clone with proper improvements, even with less cars, (who needs 420 cars anyway) I would leave this franchise and never come back. It boggles my mind that a game developer can spend 15+ years developing sequels to GT4 (which is the best GT game ever) and each one is just a half assed dumpster fire. Yet we all continue playing because there isn't a good alternative on Playstation. Selling your product because there isn't an alternative, is a weak buisness model.… Expand

    Horrible online-only requirement, even for the single player campaign. The game is completely useless unless their servers remain up. Also, they keep nerfing the ability to earn credits to force you into buying credits with real money.

It's obvious they're pushing us towards the online portion of the game with the mandatory online funtion and dreaded MTX's, both of which have no place in a single player GT game, and now it's even worse since they gimped the payouts, and made it grindy like it's GTA online. The whole used car system is ridiculous, just make all the cars available, and what pencil pushing dido in marketing came up with Brand Central?     otro de los fallos es en el apartado de microtransacciones, es muy caro los paquetes de créditos y los vehículos también se vieron afectados ya que el costo de estos es mucho mayor que las vistas en GT sport, obligándonos a farmear por mas tiempo los créditos aunado a que las recompensas se vieron muy injustas ya que en carreras simples o campeonatos el premio en créditos es muy baja (aun despues del parche 1.08) y como ultimo clavo en en ataúd el uso obligado de estar online siempre incluso para jugar modo campaña entorpece la experiencia para los usuarios que tal vez no cuenten con un servicio de internet estable y eso haría perder los avances en un campeonato si no concluiste en medio de varias carreras. considero que para la opción multijugador y sport 7 obviamente debería solicitar estar conectado siempre. En esta ocasión este gran jugo y que espere con mucho anhelo se vio manchado por los precios elevados de autos, pocas recompensas, microtransacciones y el online forzoso. Esperemos que en el futuro hayan cambios ya que no pienso continuar jugando por esas razones.    … Expand

Now a week or so after release they patch the already grindy payouts to force you into purchasing credits with real world money (it even reminds you that you can EVERY time you get any credits added to your total) and mess the update up so much that the game has been offline for a while now so I can't even play it!

    I hate to have to say this but please avoid this game in its current state, I would be looking to refund if I could and wait to pick it up at what it should have cost (MAX £20) when they have completely redone the game.

    Coming from GT5, which was generally lacklustre for me, I hoped that GT7 would fare better.

    There have been great improvements in graphics and sound (finally!) of the cars, and the game has a nice selection of well detailed cars. However, the prices for cars, coupled with low payouts and the inability to sell any unwanted cars, shows that the game was built with microtransactions in    Coming from GT5, which was generally lacklustre for me, I hoped that GT7 would fare better.

    However, the prices for cars, coupled with low payouts and the inability to sell any unwanted cars, shows that the game was built with microtransactions in mind (no surprise then, that these were also revealed at launch).

    Access to desired features (GT Auto, Brand Central) was curiously sandbagged until much later in the game, which to me, only serves to add to the difficulty of play for the first few hours.

    On top of that, within the span of two weeks, the game has been unable to run properly, with now two significant updates to fix bugs. Moreover, it's presently unplayable even in singleplayer, due to errors with servers and the fact that even singleplayer MUST be online.

    Overall, this had the makings of a great game, but at nearly $90 for the Anniversary Edition and $60.00 for standard, being unplayable/non-functional after only two weeks of being out? Look elsewhere.    … Expand

    Game requires always online for single player, and servers are constantly down for maintenance... First time I want my money back..

    The game was good on start but has an extremely short story. Then we go a whole day with servers down with almost no communication only to come back a day later when they're up to find out they've cut rewards so we make even less money now. We all know this is due to their microtransactions. L now you have to waste hours of your day to get maybe 1 car or you could spend 20 dollars andThe game was good on start but has an extremely short story.     The servers are terrible, the maintenance are a mess, you can't play if you are offline and the most important issue is that in game credits are nerf to incentivate players to pay real money for them.

    Gran Turismo 7 has a lot of good and plenty of great. The use of DualSense and the particularly well-tuned loading is exemplary, and there's a huge amount of work behind the game, with a lot of detail that's almost hard to believe at times. [Issue#318]

    Gran Turismo 7 brings to the tracks every single thing fans always wanted: the GT Mode everyone loves, plenty of customization options, car loads, classic scenarios and one of the best DualSense and 3D Audio experiences the PS5 has to offer. This is the best Gran Turismo experience we have ever seen in a long time.

    Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to motorsport history and an impeccable technical showcase. The franchise's traditional formula gets good improvements, but it's still extremely true to its roots. One of the best racing series ever shines spectacularly on the PS5.
