    Clunky aiming clunky controls. Incompetent storyline. All of the enemies are the same. The puzzles if you can call them that are easy and plain. Walking around on a yak picking fruit was by far the stupidest part of a game I've ever played. Being lectured about atreus picking a flower and killing it was enough for me.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Characters are cheap and poor written (Heimdall, Atreus, Angrboda, freyr.............) This is a big minus when half of the game are cutcenes displaying the characters. Also the story gets boring as a consequence. Thor and Odin, maybe the most anticipated part about this game, are minimized to two hippies with no debt, and are combined not half as interesting as Baldur was. The nine realms feels like a little neighborhood where people can go wherever they please.

    Gameplay mechanics is good, but its generally the same as GoW 2018. Especially the runic attacks are 90 percent, or more, the same as those from the previous game. The puzzles are poor made, with little variation and a simple design which doesn't require any amount of thought, but rather a walkthrough of the whole area to get a glimpse of some hidden crack or mark. There are scenes which are extremely outdrawn, when you just have to sit and watch two **** ride a cowthing for an hour or so, with no actual gameplay, and a massive chunk of zero budget dialogue. While "playing" through this part, it's a wonder I didn't quit.

    The only good things about this game are a few good bossfights (though not on level with the prequel), SOME good artdesign, some good music.

    In addition, the sidequests and grind are boring, repetitive, and a massive waste of time.

Then there's the cross gen thing...the amount of very slow crawling under, over, through behind practically everything in your path gets old VERY quickly! it's quite clear after just 20 minutes that this game should have been PS5 only.     Game of the Year! The first hour that story will catch and you would not let go! You would always want to know whats going to happen next to Kratos and Atreus. You the would feel the haptics and the adaptive triggers on the dualsense and that hear the 3D audio coming out from your TV or your headset. The new characters are unique and funny.     This game takes what was great about the first game and builds on it. Combat feels so fluid and good. Voice acting is on point and the game looks amazing. Performance mode runs at a pretty much locked 60fps I haven’t had any dips at all. Would definitely recommend to anybody who owns a PlayStation console. A masterpiece.

You can make your own combos switching between weapons, and your rage mode, the combat flows fast and fluidly    Whether it's combat, open world exoration, puzzle solving, or customizing the game does every thing excellently. Plus addition of several different types of enemies and mini boses keep the combat freash and you feeling satisfied after desfeating a foe. The combat is some of the best in the god of war series and i had so much fun with every encounter. They also provide you with a DMC 5 style void arena to practice your combos and skills. Combat also envourages mobility in its arena that have verticality to them -World exploration: every realm has its own set of side quests and lications to explore. Game lets you traverse these realms at your own pace if youve unlocked them. The sode missions are witcher 3 type of greatness, and exploration is encouraged since it provides you materials and equipments that offers you rear moves or buffs. The world also feels alive ith npcs and animals roaming around and i encourage playets to take their time with exoration
    RPG elements: i am glad to see that these werent an after thought. Yes you can complete the game with the same build. But changing your gear to enemy type you are encountering makes facing them mlre satisfying since you can stun them to increase your combo count, increase the rate at which you apply elementsl status effects or keep yourself from staggering. Not toention ecah equipment has its own upgrade path that adds more vsiaul aesthetics and skills into each equipment Content: the game is filled with content and it doesnt feel bloated. No two location that youll visit will provide you with the same encounter. Every real looks beatiful to explore and puzzles keep you guessing while they avoid being frustrating. There also multiple player characters with their own combat mechanics and skill tree complex enough to let them have their own spin off game Cons: The first 47 mins is slow since player isnt give much control and youre hust watching cutscenes.     At first, I was skeptical about the game since it was set to launch in 2021, however when I played the into, I can just say it is the best intro of a game ever. The game is really solid and a masterpiece, but they could have built it just for the ps5, maybe it could have eliminated some small inconsistencies, but still the game runs really good.

    Kratos is the greatest video game character of all time! That's how I choose to start this review, Kratos' development has truly come full circle. he has come a long way and seeing him going from causing the fall of a pantheon to saving the Norse realm growth we cannot ignore, enough to get you emotional. His relationship with Mimir has improve drastically, seeing him value Mimir's council indicates how come he has grown.

    Boss fights are taken straight from the pages of FromSoftware, with the combat we all love from the previous entry. This is the sequel we all deserve, it feels more than a sequel. It is the next chapter of a larger story and it was done so well.

    excellent sequel, I liked that it feels like a familiar but fresh game with new mechanics, new stories in the conversation and sometimes funny conversations, new friends and enemies. You can see that they made an effort because from the beginning that I played it, it kept me wanting to know more. in quality it is very good and if you can see the graphic improvements for the next gen.

    Everything is just superb. Story, combat, puzzles, cinematics, performance.
    I see the game got somewhat mixed user scores, I am not sure why.
    I am only 5 hours in, so maybe I also change my opinion, but so far it's really good.

    Attempts too much and delivers far too little. A lot of the story seems unnecessary or unoriginal (like Brok dying; it was like an Assassin's Creed game all of a sudden, where death is the only thing that inspires vengeance in the player), and important moments are solved off-screen in five minutes (like the unification of Alfheim or the recruitment of Hel's army). Nowhere near enough character development to justify Sif suddenly being a good guy on her fifth line of dialogue in the game right at the very end. Plot armour is apparent and obvious and is not cleverly hidden from view like you'd expect.

    Core gameplay is fine, but lacks the excitement of being novel. The focused triumph of GOW 2018 has been replaced by a rushed game that should have been chopped in two to allow greater exploration of themes and characters. Seminal moments are reduced to backdrops and 'What was the point of that' moments. Large pieces of the game can be removed and nothing changes from the game's resolution. Garm/Fenrir and the creation of the Jormungandr can be removed from the game and nothing about Ragnarok changes.

    Rather than wax lyrical about all the game's contradictions I will simply say; what a disappointment. It fails to deliver and is a sprawling mess that can't decide what it wants to be and what it wants to be about.

Storytelling, artwork, dialogue, audio, game-play-mechanics and combat are crafted with so much love for the smallest detail, its simply astonishing. The game is so ultra polished that it comes pretty close to perfection. And man, what an eyeopener the graphics are.

Also this game shares the same problems the last one did, like repetition of enemies (a bunch been the same enemies as the last game), extremely boring puzzles (again, i bunch of them just a copy and paste from the last game), and repetition in general, all whe have to do in this game is basically running, killing some creatures, solving puzzles and collecting some chest, that's it. Side quests are average, some characters are charismatic and fun, but many of them are shallow and uninteresting, and i feel the world is kinda dead, i mean, there are animals living there but they don't have a routine like in Red Dead Redemption, if you stand in front of them for 1 hour they'll do the same thing for 1 hour. Animations, direction, soundtrack and the art are top notch, but they were already in the past game and just remained the same, so. People love to complain that FIFA or COD are just a copy and paste game that releases every year, but i guess if the game is made by Sony then it is incredible, right?… Expand

    Some great improvements from GoW 2018 especially in terms of gameplay, the story is solid (some truly outstanding performances) but I definitely preferred the more focused pacing and general approach in GoW 2018.

    Very decent game, good story, good gameplay, but essentially it felt more like a refined standalone expansion of GoW 2018 than a game per se, the one thing that really bugged me is the inability to turn off tips that characters continue to bark at you throughout the entire game, it got really annoying after a while

    I really expected much more at the end of a mythology as great as the Norse.
    Another point is that they recycled everything from Athena and Zeus (2018)
    the whole game feels like filler trying to make it long.
    Kratos being good and not wanting to kill anyone seems silly and boring to me.

    This game is aboslutely awesome...improved gameplay with more options and more variety in enemies and boss fights make the gameplay feel the best in the whole series. The main story is amazing and characters are very well written. The side content feels rewarding and fun just like it was in the previous game...THIS GAME IS A MASTERPIECE.

    Many gods and characters did not participate in the war.
    Jörmungandr participated more in 2018 than this one. Surtr and Fenrir very poorly used. We can barely see the armies fighting. The final fight against Baldur was more epic than the final fight against Thor, perhaps more epic than this    The game was great until its final part but unfortunately it was not worthy of a Ragnarok.

    We don't use Mjölnir, we don't use the Blade of Olympus. We don't fight alongside any army.
    It felt more like any level of the game.
    For me until the time when Kratos plays the horn and the post-game are 10/10, but for the Ragnarok part itself I give it 5/10.

    It's a shame that one of the most epic mythological events happened this way, and we can't even blame the crossgen, because GOW3 and even GOW4 were more epic. Sad.    … Expand

    Had potential to be a great game, but with Santa Monica hiring female and lbgtq developers, they've turned our favorite badass into a soft daddy who doesn't like to kill. He's now weak and feminine. Basically same thing that happened to WoW.

    More of the same. Dad of Dark Souls features the same animations of the same watered down character but more of them! Kratos isn't the same man that literally ripped of Medusa's head to use as a weapon. Instead Kratos is now the guy who throws his axe at things to pass simple puzzles. He's also the same guy who engages in Bengay Battles in which you have to wait for the camera to catchMore of the same.     Logged in for more than 10 hours in the game and played in GMGOW, Haven't played GOW 2018 so everything is new to me for the gameplay.

The world is beautiful I like how you can travel from one realm to another and be able to clear these realms with a different environment which is aesthetically beautiful. Enemies such as mobs most of the time you will fight them in groups which is more challenging this is where you'll have to be at your best by learning combos that you activated through gaining skills and the Combat is nothing short of amazing and it is fair to say that the combat is my favorite gameplay of the game.

    Boss fights are designed well, most of them so far aside from those Draugrs which you have to fight in groups well technically it ain't a problem for me but I can already tell that there are some players losing their patience with this type of boss.

    GOWR is an easy 10 but I experience a game-breaking bug and lost around 3-4 hours of gameplay I played the game while downloading patch 2.0 and yes I never care that the download was finished and kept playing the game without it installing until I took a break and once I updated it every time a load a save Kratos was stuck in a falling loop hole unable to continue the game so I need to re-start my game.    … Expand

    One of the best games ever made. It is so much bigger than than 2018 god of war and better in every way imaginable. The combat really shines here being really satisfying making every encounter fun.

    God of war Ragnarok is a big step up from the game of the year winning god of war. Everything is improved and there are no bugs or performance issues which is very rare for a huge and expansive triple a game.

    Santa Monica Studios operates on a different realm altogether from human beings. Their games aren't even comparable to others, and a GOTY award would barely do it justice. Another masterpiece of untold brilliance in every aspect of the game.

    Achei um jogo com uma história impecável, Ótimo Mapa, Provoca diversas emoções ao longo da gameplay sendo um dos maiores jogos da história na minha opinião porém uma coisa que me incômodou foi a falta de variedade de armas e a perca de ataques anteriores que já havia pegado no game anterior.     Imagine kratos the god of war talking about his feelings with his horrible boring son. That's god of war ragnarok a soap serie. O and what about the combat ? Almost 0 to none. Even the last boss was boring. Way to go. No this game will be the last of the seriers for me what a waste and bitter taste. Also black netflix people in Norway gtfo

    To each his own but imo this "GOTY nominee" is very disappointing. Atreus can't shut up, the player is hand-holded through the entire game, the dialogues are pure cringe and theres zero innovation over the GOW(2018). It could have been a DLC. The hype around this boring, very linear game is not justified in any way.

    Gostei muito do jogo, A Sony tem esses Games Estilo MCU e pra quem Gosta É o que tem de mais Qualidade no mercado, Gameplay Fantástica , Enredo, Personagens bem construídos, boas surpresas....É o Complemento e Final de Série da Qual começou no GOW(2018).

    I can't help but tip my hat to the entire Santa Monica team. The deeper you delve into the game, the more you'll be drawn into the stunning story of a father and son against the backdrop of perhaps history's most horrific war. Throw in some casually endearing humour, great and fluid gameplay, and wrap it all up with an amazing audiovisual experience. [Issue#323]

    Thanks to an amazing cast that’s doing an outstanding job, a compelling story told through the eyes of multiple characters, and top-notch combat, this epic and heartfelt journey strikes all the right chord. It’s impossible not to recommend God of War Ragnarok, but just in case you had any doubts, I strongly advise anyone mildly interested in gaming to play Santa Monica Studio’s latest masterpiece.
