    This is the best Final Fantasy game by far.
    The story, music. artstyle, characters and gameplay are just beyond imaginable.
    Creative Business Unit III carries square enix and i hope they will be in charge of future installments aswell.

    Good game, second half of the game is incredible, first half had some frame issues and some pacing issues(filler quests). But the second half redeemed the game for me, and ending was pretty good. Combat was at first easy but the later parts of the game demanded full attention and proper use of abilities to effectively kill enemies.     As a big Final Fantasy fan spending most of my childhood playing Final Fantasy 7, 8, 9 and 10. I can say that this game is huge to me its story is beautiful and told in such a great way that the voice acting looks the part and the characters depth is on point i believe this Final Fantasy game is as good as all the old ones i played. I think Square Enix know what they was doing with thisAs a big Final Fantasy fan spending most of my childhood playing Final Fantasy 7, 8, 9 and 10.     Honestly a step in the right direction compared to ff15 and 13. The combat is nice and I really like the main character. I think the story is great, but it falls of a little bit towards the end. I like the eikon customization Definetly a 10/10 IMO, but the review trolls needed to ruin something nice once again

    I've played over 20 hours of this game and this is honestly the best game I've ever played. I have played every final fantasy, elden ring, and this is the perfect blend of the two. Sorry for all the fans upset its a ps5 exclusive but this is normal for me as we used to have to get a Playstation in the past and I'm sure it will be awesome on pc, as was final fantasy 15.

    Masterpiece. I have played every FF since 3 and this is now my favorite one yet.

    Story is fantastic, the music is close to the best I ever heard and the combat addictive. Would 100% recommend.

    Everything about this game has been great. Story, VA, music, etc. The combat is extremely riveting & fun to find all the different combination/chains. If I were to have one complaint it would be the lack of a mini map, but that's me being nitpicky. Seriously, I think this is one of the best installments to date!

    Old FF-fan here and although I miss the good old times with turn-based battle systems and a world progression that runs like a classic JRPG I have to say this is a great game.
    I haven't gotten this deeply involved in a story for a long time, and it's such a nice break with the more linear approach since my last big games has been elden ring and totk.

    This is one of the best games of 2023 and also one of the best games ever made. This is objective fact, you can dislike that fact, but it remains a fact. Very likely GOTY, unless Spider-Man 2 does something incredible. Also, ignore fake negative reviews.

    Overall I would give this game a 9.5. The story, combat and cut scenes are fantastic and I’m just absolutely addicted. I haven’t felt the urge to dive into an RPG like this since I beat the Witcher 3 years ago. Seriously, I took a week off work to play this game and it’s been a blast.

    Pros - The story is just too good and there’s quite a bit of lore to focus on. The active time lore    Overall I would give this game a 9.5.     Pros - The story is just too good and there’s quite a bit of lore to focus on. The active time lore function is huge for this and I hope it becomes something we see in games moving forward. The combat is flashy and fun and only gets better as you learn new eikon abilities. The eikon battles are hands down the coolest battles I’ve ever experienced in a game before. Clive is such a bad dads MC.

    Cons - I am totally fine with this game only being “semi” open world but I feel like the devs missed an opportunity to make exploration more rewarding. Traveling around the map to find 2 Gil can feel pretty lame. The lack of an on screen mini map can be cumbersome when looking for quest markers.

    Anyone giving this game a 0 has some other motive or agenda because there’s no way to justify it. Square hit the mark on this big time and every fan of RPGs should pick this up.    … Expand

It doesn’t require much strategy as older FF games but it requires different skillset. The eikon battles are the highlight of this game for me. Side quests - I know some are a bit lame but they are not pointless. It helps you grasp the situation and the story. It adds understanding of how they are treated as branded.

    All in all this is the best game I have played this year so far and best FF in a decade.    … Expand

    AWESOME game. An experience like never before. A breath of fresh air for the franchise. New type of battles, an epic story, great main characters... besides... A breathtaking eikons' encounters. Don't expect a classical final fantasy, open your mind and let Valisthea surprise you. Love it!

I was extremely excited about this game having played ff14 and all the other final fantasys prior I was more than ecstatic to delve into a whole new ff experience. But I was not prepared for what CBU3 had made for us to have witnessed. The next-gen games have been relatively lackluster the whole gen IMO and I really wasThis game has changed the landscape for me regarding video games.     O que é mais chato hoje em dia é o senso crítico que as pessoas tem hoje, zero de senso, o game tem pontos que é compreensível uma pessoa não gostar, mas dar uma nota zero para esse jogo é realmente birra de criança mimada, só a batalha e a direção de arte do jogo são de impressionar e não... Não vi nada igual na atualidade. "O jogo superaqueceu meu ps5 e ele desligou" "Fritou meu ps5"... Bom eu pelo menos não tive problemas joguei coisa de 10h seguidas e o console ficou de morno pra frio ainda. O jogo tem queda de quadros enquanto enta pela senário, mas em batalha independente de qual seja, ele não tem uma queda de quadro, roda liso em batalha. Não é perfeito a exploração do jogo é (não tem outra palavra...) Inútil, não tem muito o que explorar e se for explorar, a recompensa é muito ruim. Outro ponto fraco é que o jogo está muito bem no ritmo e se você opta por continuar nesse ritmo seguindo a história, algumas missões são bem similares as missões secundária de chatas, o que é muito chato nesse game, as missões secundária. Mas fora isso o game.tem uma gameplay, maravilhosa extremamente fluida e um espetáculo de se ver. "Da pra fazer tudo só com um botão" até parece, claro que se colocar os itens de trapaça faz mesmo, mas aí o problema não o jogo amigo, você que é um Noob, Devil May Cry é um dos melhores se não o melhor do gênero e o pessoal fala isso, a questão é VOCÊ NÃO SABE JOGAR o problema não é o jogo. Minha nota seria um 8 porque tem esse problema de missões secundárias chatas e exploração bem desnecessária. Mas vai 10 só pra equilibrar a notas injustas… Expand

    It's refreshing to play an actual game. This takes me back to the days of linear narrative days of mafia and metal gear. With so many games coming out as open world messes that try to keep you engaged with multiple check mark quests and busy work. The game gives you the basics and little by little adds more tools to your repertoire. If you are fond of the devil may cry games than this willIt's refreshing to play an actual game. It's also extremely heavy on cutscenes and expository breaks as I feel I spent more time watching the game than playing it. Also observed a number of typos in the game text for items and captions.

    Visually the game is quite impressive with it's details. However gameplay itself is overly simplified to timing button presses while navigating mostly linear map areas. There is little reason to explore and nearly all staples and mechanics of an RPG are missing.

    The only build "options" you have are limited to the relic slots which have a limited range of options and which Eikons and skills you choose to slot. However that part just boils down to preferences on what types of moves you like as the element of the Eikon makes no difference at all in the game.

    It's not a bad game. However it's not something that should have been shipped as a numbered mainline entry to the Final Fantasy series and instead been given a spinoff designation like other forays by SE to branch the Final Fantasy series outside of the RPG genre. Between this title and the direction they've been taking with changes to Final Fantasy 14, it gives the impression that CBU3's goal is to take the Final Fantasy franchise away from it's original fanbase.

    Lots of flashy things to get attention but sorely lacking in substance compared to previous mainline entries in the series and even a number of the series spinoffs.    … Expand

    First Final Fantasy experience and it does not disappoint. I tried the demo and liked it, so I ended up purchasing. Easily one of the best games of the year so far. Great combat, amazing set-pieces and a good story. Highly recommended.

    I felt like a kid again, the excitement was non stop. I can’t remember the last time I did an all nighter for a game! It has an immaculate put together world with believable and entirely loveable characters. My star, my treasure. Defo in my top FFs of all time, right up there with FFXIV, FFX, FF16, FF12.

    The worst waste of time I've made this year
    Because "playing" ff16 isn't fun at all, since it's basically 85% cutscenes, and the story is even a boring and sluggish dull mess. While the gameplay is button smashing meet bullet sponge mobs + cinematics qte bosses (all scripted).
    Hugely disappoint experience imho

    FFXVI is a unique experience. If you are open to playing the experience the developers intended, you are most likely going to love it. The highs in this game are unlike anything i've ever experienced.     The only complaint I have for this game are the side quest, they are bad, useless and don’t add anything. That being said the Main Story is simply amazing, full of surprises well narrated and very long. The graphics look very nice all (yes even with performance mode) specially on combat were is never a fps drop.     Modern approach to gameplay that respects and preserves its roots. At times a bit of an empty world lacking incentive to explore outwith the main plot. Could use some more humour and tongue in cheek dialogue as it does take itself a bit too seriously at times. Seems to be a another case of rushing a game out before it's finished, but still fun to play.

    - Excellent pacing. Despite the game encompassing the comings and goings of multiple characters and factions, it is very cohesive (especially the Active Time Lore system).
    - THE SOUNDTRACK. Soken is a master, and the sheer variance in OSTs (216 tracks composed for the game) mean that every story arc feels different from the one before because tracks are seldom reused. Whilst always retaining a very high quality.
    - Replayable arcade content means you dont have to restart the whole game if you want to relive one of the many awesome boss fights the game has to offer.
    - Dialogue is great, will make you feel emotions (sad, happy, funny, angry).

    Ahhh you gotta love the double Standard of Metacritic..if a game is Review Bombed for being woke, they act really fast and delete 90% of those Bad reviews..BUT when its the Woke idiots that Review Bomb..strangely not much is happening....
    ANYWAY...great Game, gorgeous Visuals, decent, if a bit slow, Story, Phenomenal Combat.

    I find the combat very satisfying as well. Im getting pretty good at stringing together pretty awesome combos. There’s quite a bit you can do with the combos that keep things varied and fun. The visuals and sounds really enhance the combat. Feels very impactful.

    Voice acting and cinematics are absolutely top notch and the game is chock full of epic moments.

    I’m playing in quality mode because performance doesn’t hold 60 fps. That’s my only knock on the game. That being said, the 30 fps in quality mode feels good (and looks incredible), especially during combat. The motion blur when looking around can be a little rough.    … Expand

    Uma grata surpresa. Meu primeiro Final Fantasy e simplesmente adorei o jogo. Os combates são épicos e a história fascinante. Loads extremamente rápidos. Queria muito que tivesse uma continuação, mas conhecendo o histórico da franquia FF a chance de isso acontecer beira a zero.

    The game is unbelievable the story pulled me in immediately with eye watering visuals there are some boring parts side mission in-between main story but it really makes up for it with some of the best boss fights I've ever seen its like god of war 3 ×100

However, I've always felt Final Fantasy always had amazing stories, but the game play was not for me. 16 is action packed which I love. Side quests would be my only knock on it. They've could had made the more interesting. A couple side quests are but not enough. The story is excellent. The musicI am absolutely loving this game.     This is the epitome of Final Fantasy game that I always fantasized since I was a kid.

    The super rich Lore combined with Insanely Amazing delivery for the Story and Characters are Perfect. I also like the simplicity of the exp numbers and crafting system and yet giving an exciting Combat with just right difficulty.

    I am so glad that I'll still able to play this game in my life.

    FF16 completely reinvented the series for what it is and im all here for it. putting the DMC director on was a great decision and im very pleased with what was brought to the table. Couple that with an interesting story and incredible art direction, graphics, and characters and you find yourself with a gripping 20-hour experience

I tried PS5's Accessibility feature combined with scheme B, I could do the combat perfectly, but then when I get to the game's menu, it gets messy again because the buttons already swapped. Also, the diamond shaped bar at the bottom right does not change according to the selected button scheme. Otherwise, this could be a sneak attempt at selling Dualsense Edge, that could swap button profiles easily. Unfortunately most of people don't have that controller, so yeah, another game for the backlog that will never see play.… Expand

    Long time fan of the franchise and have to say it's up there with the bests. Storytelling, characters, and world building is fantastic, which is to be expected from CBU3. Combat is a good change of pace and is fun and addictive.

    played mostly FFXIV and a few hours in the last few FF games and I have to say the story in this game is absolutely fantastic, the world is engaging and the characters feel like they have agency outside of Clive's story. I'm about 20 hours into the game so far and absolutely loving it

    The gameplay is quite good, excellent actually.
    Every character has its own abilities and way of fight, the abilities of the protagonist (Clive) and how every ability is totally different and unique is perfect. The combos you can do and the abilities you can use combined is pleasing.

The only negatives: sidequests kinda repetitive and boring, framerate mode sucks, but dear god... the eikon fights come up for it a million times. Well done yoshi P!     Pathetic to see people review bombing a game just cause it ain’t on their platform. I enjoyed every second with this game the boss fights were all spectacular the story was interesting the ending left me a bit sour though could’ve been presented better. Combat was great many intense moments. Cast and the voice acting were all amazing too. probably going to be my Game of the Year.

    The game is absolutely fantastic. The story is dark, with a lot of twists, Clive is an emotionally complex character and the game play is incredibly fun and intuitive that gets more complex overtime

    While named Final Fantasy it may aswell be a Devil May Cry spin off, it’s structured very similar and has about as much “RPG” in it as DMC.

    The highs in this game are extremely high, but the lows are extremely low, which sucks the enjoyment a little bit out of the game, but then a high comes again and you manage to put up with the low, mundane MMO style questing.

    It seems they took the worst of FF14 and the worst of DMC and smushed it together. The game also suffers from performance issues, several times my PS5 has told me to turn off due to overheating issues.

    Gameplay doesn’t reward exploring combat, trash will die in an eikon ability or 2, while bosses who can’t be juggled or anything are complete damage sponges. I enjoyed my playthrough, it’s not the best Final Fantasy but it’s not the worst either. If you can put up with the low periods inbetween the high periods, you’ll enjoy the game. I do have to say that anyone giving it perfect scores is completely blinded by hype. The game doesn’t deserve a 0 but it certainly isn’t a 10 by any means,    … Expand

If you're a fan of the series for the stories and characters, you won't go wrong here, and if you've avoided the series for, say, turn-based combat, the sixteenth installment offers the perfect opportunity to get started with this legend of the gaming industry.
