    As a long term Final Fantasy fan i loved this. Sure they've mixed up the combat which isn't to everyone's liking (very Devil may cry action style) but personally i really enjoyed it. In every other way this is peak FF, great set pieces, great characters (Clive and Cid are up there with the best of the series) and totally over the top story telling especially towards the end.     The Eikon battles are tedious, stupid and ridiculous. You fight some bosses over and over again.     This game is one of the best in the whole franchise when it comes to the story it was top notch with deep backgrounds for each character and the world building was so amazing that you wish you don't want to leave (Valesthia). whats more that the music and soundtracks were out of this world.     I love absolutely everything about this masterpiece. I love the characters, gameplay, writing - literally everything is just wonderfully designed. You can really feel how much love and polish went into this production. Final Fantasy 16 is not only my GOTY, but the best game I have played in years. That all said, can we gave some DLC Square Enix? Or better yet, how about a sequel? :)

    Weak as a RPG with a lack of systems and worthwhile loot. Weak as a character action game with its lack of combat options. Piss easy difficulty throught the first playthrough. Squandered potential in its story as it nosedives into tonedeaf JRPG tropes. All in all it was a slog and would not recommend.

    - Equipping items has been greatly minimized. A weapon, a belt, a bracer and three rings/chains. Unfortunately there is nothing more.
    - side quest bad! Very much help person x, search herbs y tasks. No comparison to old FF side quests or even a witcher!
    - No mini games
    - sometimes long ways
    - Few enemy types, no variety, often repeated
    - At times the stylish Eikon/Espa fights are too long, unnecessarily long

    Reminiscent of the gameplay of EA's last Jedi Games, a Devil May Cry (yes, I know Ryota Suzuki) or a God of War.

    Despite all the negative comments, I love the soundtrack, the main character Cliff and the very beautiful world of Final Fantasy 16. I have strong vagant story vibes with a pinch of FF9.

    Unfortunately, Final Fantasy is no longer Final Fantasy. It's now just an action-adventure game that's far from its former strengths. The claim of a role-playing game has been severely restricted or completely lost.    … Expand

The sheer spectacle of these fights combined with an outstanding soundtrack make these fights feel truly epic, they're also some of the few fights in the game that don't immediately melt to mindlessly spamming your abilities and actually seem fairly well balanced for the games mechanics, unlike regular and "elite" enemies which make up the majority of the games combat. Unfortunately they're too few and far and simply aren't worth putting up with the meandering busy work the game puts in between them.… Expand

    One of the best games I have played for a long time.The gameplay of the game is extremely fun and it was one of the main reasons I picked up the game. I never liked FF because of the gameplay where you have to control other characters or give orders to them but this one doesn't have that and for me that was the best choice from square enix. Overall this game is 9/10 and for me the game of the year despite having played zelda.     Best game in years that I’ve played. There are a few dialogue mishaps, but they are hard to see if you aren’t even paying attention. Gameplay is iconic, and so many different ways to play, storyline is amazing, and is in the top 3 of any game ever. I played through completely 2 times, and hope they add some features or dlc so I can do so again.

    This casts aside decades of an open world RPG based title for a character action game with linear game progression. If your expecting a game that keeps you engaged and looking for secret side content this will leave you disappointed. The cinematic interruptions constantly disengages you from the game play, and the linear fights remove any hint of exploration.

    Combat

    The combat in the game features some customizability and a focus on combo's
    The Very basics for the combat system are the HP, and Stagger meter
    Every attack will have a value on Damage, and Stagger
    Some attacks will have more stagger value over damage and vise Versa while others make strike a nice middle ground.
    Now i will not go much further but just know that the combat in this game is complex and there is a lot to learn in terms of what can be mixed together to create awesome flashy combos or simple repeatable combos and that is apart of the beauty of the games combat.
    Also it plays like a goddamn anime.

    Exploration

    The game as stated earlier features open linear world design and as such the areas you explore are massive and the content you do in them is realativly varied
    The landscapes are diverse and beautiful and really capture what it is to experience a world.
    You will acquire a mount later in the game that will also help you explore.

    Items & Loot
    Potions and High potions as well as other consumables have very limited slots you can hold on your adventures unlike the other games i think that this is amazing and prioritizes skill over just spamming healing potions or eating 1000 cheese wheels whenever a bandit has decided that they have had enough and make you the victim

    However its not all sunshine and rainbows
    Excluding talismans, gear is just meaningless cosmetics with stat upgrades, Now i would be okay with this had you been able to do something else with said gear like maybe choose which stat to boost on it, but alas no the gear is just a hidden stat increasing upgrade system.

    Talismans however are amazing they can do anything from cooldown reduction, combo damage to Outright giving you a new feature in combat.
    They allow the most customization for your build in this game.

    TLDR
    The gameplay is amazing overall with only a single shortcoming being weapons and armor excluding talismans.

    I cant really touch on the story without entering spoiler territory but just know that i consider the story to be one of the greatest stories ever told, with an ending that left me crying in my chair. i have longed for a story that emotionally engaged me in it with this decade and it seems i have finally found it.
    Final Verdict
    For the amazing gameplay and story elements of this game, i will award this game with a 92/100 or 9.2/10

    Let me preface this by saying that the only other Final Fantasy games I’d tried before was FF VII Remake (which is one of the best videogames I’ve ever played) and FF XV, so I’m a relative newcomer to the franchise. It’s ironic that FF XV was touted as a “A Final Fantasy for Fans and First-Timers,” but that game didn’t grip me at all! I played it only for 7 hours and had enough and neverLet me preface this by saying that the only other Final Fantasy games I’d tried before was FF VII Remake (which is one of the best videogames I’ve ever played) and FF XV, so I’m a relative newcomer to the franchise. It’s ironic that FF XV was touted as a “A Final Fantasy for Fans and First-Timers,” but that game didn’t grip me at all! I played it only for 7 hours and had enough and never went back. FF XVI, on the other hand, gripped from the onset and never let go! From the trailers, I wasn’t sure whether it was my cup of tea though, but then I saw there was a free demo available and decided to give it shot. Boy! Was I in for quite a treat! After finishing the demo, I was immediately hooked and knew right there and then… I. HAVE. TO. BUY. THIS. GAME. NOW!

    In those opening hours, the game succeeds in making you care about its story, characters and universe. I wanted to know more about Clive and his journey of redemption and vengeance (He’s a compelling protagonist and oh-so-easy on the eyes!). That’s what pulled me in, first and foremost. I wanted to know more about this fantasy world that felt like Game of Thrones meets Attack on Titan. I was in! And so I played more. Then, there is the presentation, from the visuals to the soundtrack, which is top-notch. You can tell you’re playing something special. It features some of the most jaw-dropping, bombastic, thrilling showdowns in recent memory. God of War Ragnarok’s final boss fight pales in comparison to the first titanic boss battle here. There a sense of scale, wonder and awe that not even that formidable title could evoke as spectacularly as FF XVI does here. It manages to shift up the gear, making every succeeding boss battle feel even bigger and more over-the-top than the last. Quite an impressive achievement.

    Now onto the gameplay. It starts out pretty basic. However, as the story progresses you start acquiring more powers to diversify your arsenal and match your preferred gameplay style. It’s reminiscent of GOW in its use of special abilities, but not as sophisticated. Here, you’re far more invested in doing as much damage as possible in the shortest amount of time possible, which is where its combo system comes into the equation. It’s fast-paced, flashy and so much fun! If you’re coming off playing something like Elden Ring, FF XVI will feel like a piece of cake. You can unequip the rings of assistance you start out with if you want more of a challenge. Unfortunately, hard mode (FF mode) only unlocks after you’ve completed the game, which I thought was a misjudgment on their part. It’s not a perfect game, though.

    The side quests do bring it down a bit. While not completely pointless, as they do add something to the world-building in many interesting ways, they can feel like a drag. Some are more interesting than others, with the overwhelming majority being subpar, not only in quality but also in presentation. You can tell all the money went towards those breathtakingly spectacular boss battles, because one features state-of-the art visuals and the other animation that wouldn’t feel out of place in a PS3 game.

    So, the highs are so stratospherically high that it makes the lows feel mid at best. This is a solid 8 game, but the highs are sooo high that they push it to a 9. Just push through the slow parts and meandering side quests (prioritize those with a plus sign), because its boss battles are quite something to behold. You have to play and experience them for yourself to believe it! Overall, a fantastic game and the most fun I’ve had this year so far! You’ll come away wanting more! Awesome story and narrative, great characters, very good Battle system, and the most Epic Battles un the history of games! And the music... WOW!! If you have a PS5 and you like videogames, don't think It twice and buy It right now! I would like to see DLC of some characters or even more story! It's true thatJust one word!!! EPIIIIIIC!!!     This game is easily one of the best Final Fantasy to come out. It's my favorite since 12 and already in my top 5. The combat evolves on itself as the game progresses, it's beautiful, has a great sound track, and endearing characters. Some of the Side quests can feel like a trudge but every one of them add flavor to the world in a unique way.

Eveything comes together so well. Really addicitive combat loop, great visuals, incredible story. Even in the downtime between huge events I was having a great time.

    No le doy un 10 porque no hay componente estratégico. No existen debilidades elementales, ni estados alterados. Las magias casi brillan por su ausencia.

    Los combates piden a gritos más combos y acciones. He matado a muchos jefes usando la misma estrategia

    Una auténtica joya, tanto en historia, narrativa, game play y epicidad, es un sueño hecho realidad para los fans de esta saga y para los amantes de los videojuegos.
    El contenido secundario pasado la mitad del juego es de mucha calidad ampliando el Lore del mismo, su mundo y sus personajes, el sistema de combate es de lo mejor que he visto un ARGP con sinergias entre habilidades y muy variado, lo mejor es probar varias combinaciones.
    La banda sonora está a la altura de los clásicos, tiene melodías que se te quedan grabadas.
    También hay bastantes guiños a la saga.
    El apartado artístico y técnico es sublime, una pasada de escenarios y un espectáculo los combates, en especial contra los Eikons y el enemigo final.
    Clive ahora es mi héroe favorito de la franquicia junto con Cecil.

    Una vez finalizado el juego, debo decir que estamos ante un título que pudo haber marcado historia en la saga y codearse con la época gloriosa que va desde el VI al IX pero que se queda a medias por el camino debido a problemas importantes que no pueden pasarse por alto.

    Paso a exponerlos:

    > Pasa demasiado tiempo desde que tienes 2 eikon hasta que te dan el tercero. Y qué decir del último el cual directamente estás casi terminando el juego ya cuando lo recibes.

    Y dicho todo esto... por qué le doy un 8? pues porque aún con sus defectos y que se ha renunciado totalmente al género RPG, sigue teniendo una historia muy muy buena que sabe cerrar por lo alto y con unas primeras 12-15h de juego que son increíbles. Si llega a mantener esa dinámica hasta el final hubiesemos hablado de una de las mejores historias de la franquicia, que es decir bastante.     A masterpiece! A pure work of art! I've been following and cherishing this franchise for 21 years, and FFXVI brought me back to when I booted FFX for the first time on my PS2 as a kid. I'm so happy for the quality of this game, a 10/10 for me!

    The issue with diversity does unfortunately reign true in this game. However, in every other aspect, I find it truly incredible. I hope that in the future the issues of characters fitting only one demographic will be fixed, and that I can rate a wonderful game without having to make mention of an issue we shouldn’t still be having.

    Gameplay is good but misses alot of tactic. No debuffs nor buffs which made FF games interesting. The Story is good but I hoped for a different conclusion especially with villians motivation. The game is sadly build like a single player MMO. The Sidequest are really boring and just fetch quests. The crafting system is horribly lacking.     This game is a visual treat, everything from the different clothing materials and how they react to lighting, armour, weapons, environment, monster design, eikon design, characters. Not to mention the great detail gone into animation. The combat is fast, detailed and a real spectacle to watch - as are the large and epic eikon battles that feel like a blockbuster movie.

    This really feels like a PS5 game, textures are sharp and detailed. Lighting is wonderful with bloom as you exit indoors and ray tracing. Frames feel fine despite having it on 'graphics' mode. The only noticeable slow down was during an intense eikon battle cut scene, and was very slight. Audio: 10/10

    The music is fantastic. Depending on the moment (light hearted, exploring, dramatic/tense, epic battles etc) the game perfectly manages to capture these moments with a great OST. Sound effects are good, from the creatures to the rustling of plants you run through and chaos during battles. Voice acting is Hollywood quality, it gives the atmosphere of a more dour/serious medieval movie. British talent used, and different emotions/moments are captured very well. Gameplay: 10/10

    Thought has gone into this game in this regard. Combat is fun, you can fight with Clive's sword and do some different attacks, but thanks to eikon abilities, the amount of attacks/magic or chained movies you can do is impressive. They also look great. You can also evade and if timed right - can get a stronger hit in. Eikon battles other unique styles of fighting each time, one is a throwback to Panzer Dragoon (Sega Saturn) another slow and heavy like a wrestling match, others much faster. You can upgrade your combat abilities too as well as weapons and equipment. Though this is a character/narrative driven game like those before it, you won't be able to fully change your weapon class/clothing. You can select a difficulty level (story or action focussed) and can even wear 'easy mode' rings that make combat simple, not what I'd recommend but if you're quite new you this type of game or find it hard, you can still enjoy everything it has without the difficulty beings an issue.

    You can ride a chocobo and navigate the large world, this isn't an open world game like Skyrim, but rather a vast sand box of large open areas interconnected. You can fast travel or cookie explore them on foot, including various towns. You can hold the touchpad at any time including cutscenes to pause and get instant information (up until that point in the story) on the character's you're with, their empires or kingdom they are from. The location, lore etc. This is a great addition as this game has a fairly in-depth story and without this, it'd be easy to lose track of some information/names etc. Storyline: 10/10

    It's hard to fault the story in any way. Enix put a lot of thought into this game's world, everything is there for a reason, and all elements, all kingdoms, characters etc are grounded in the same story. Nothing feels out of place or incoherent (like almost all of FF15). Thanks to the detailed world and backstories given, along with the great voice acting. The story already has some of it's work cut out, but it doesn't slack in any way. It is interesting and engrossing, you feel for the character's and grow attached to them, some moments or interactions might make you smile, other big moments will shock or upset you. Also this is an adult game, it feels like LoTR, Elden Ring etc in tone. There's blood and violence, there's sexual innuendo, swearing and grounded/serious atmosphere.

    Summary: 10/10

    This is either as good as FFVII or close. As things stand this will very likely be in the running for GoTY. If you have a PS5, you'd be crazy you skip this game.

    At times I felt that I was not playing the game that others had reviewed. I had a good time but nothing more, the secondary missions were a bit strange, it got repetitive (because of the change to an action rpg maybe) and it never managed to captivate me. This without counting some issues that are related to the operation of the console.

    Quests are terrible and dated, something straight out of FFXIV. I've yet to do a quest that isn't find item, deliver item, or kill some random fodder monsters. No real story or impact to any of them, easily skippable dialogue.

    The world map for a game like this was a terrible decision and really takes away from the world but then again the world as you see it in the game is mostly linear zones with multiple tiny holes you crawl through over and over or overly dark castles. With the rare exception of the quest zones which are mostly just empty and ignored other than completing some required quests or searching for the hunt mark.

    Gameplay is enjoyable, but mostly only during boss fights, the combat system while nothing really new for action is more or less well done and feels polished. I think the magic burst system is probably the least enjoyable part of it but there are work arounds to not use it. Overall the Eikons get boring and 1 dimensional, you get a new ability and it's shiny but most of them are only useful if they do high stagger or high damage without massive recharge times and a long cast... most are in-between or take too long.

    By the end of the game you'll feel extremely tired of playing Clive typically, his combat style never changes and he's all you get.

    Equipment is boring except for the one that enhances your combos after precision dodges, crafting might as well just be buying weapons.

    This game is definitely not a 10/10 or 9/10, that implies it's near perfect. I think a maybe a 6 or 7 is the fairest score, 7 if you don't care about performance. The highs of the game are the boss battles and the lows seem to be everything in-between.    … Expand

Con este juego han conseguido un sistema de combate adaptado a los tiempos actuales y que se aleja bastante de los turnos de otras entregas, con una jugabilidad propia de los hack and slash tremendamente divertida y que le sienta como anillo al dedo. Si a esto le añadimos que los combates gozan de unas animaciones y de una puesta enFinal Fantasy XVI es un juegazo y un gran Final Fantasy. Con este juego han conseguido un sistema de combate adaptado a los tiempos actuales y que se aleja bastante de los turnos de otras entregas, con una jugabilidad propia de los hack and slash tremendamente divertida y que le sienta como anillo al dedo. Si a esto le añadimos que los combates gozan de unas animaciones y de una puesta en escena buenísimas, hacen del mismo uno de los mejores apartados del juego. La epicidad de los combates también se puede aplicar a las escenas y distintos momentos del juego y han logrado transmitir una intensidad y un éxtasis a la que muy pocos juegos llegan. Todo viene acompañado por una magistral banda sonora compuesta por Soken que me parece de lo mejor que se ha hecho estos últimos años sin ningún tipo de duda (está a la altura de las composiciones de Uematsu y Shimomura). La historia es muy redonda, está muy inspirada en juego de tronos por sus conflictos políticos y ambientación medieval cruda y muy adulta y está llena de momentos inolvidables. Sin embargo, tras la mitad del juego baja algo el ritmo de la narrativa, pero consigue mantenerte enganchado hasta el final. Al sobresaliente argumento hay que añadir los fantásticos e interesantísimos personajes de los que hace gala el juego, la mayoría con arcos sorprendentemente buenos. También me han sorprendido para bien muchas misiones secundarias ya que te contextualizan de una forma muy cercana a la situación del mundo de Valisthea y a sus personajes. En cuanto al apartado gráfico, es de lo más puntero que he visto en la nueva generación, pero es cierto que en modo rendimiento es bastante inestable, por lo que lo he jugado en modo fidelidad (30 fps), que mantenía bastante mejor la tasa de imágenes salvo en momentos muy concretos. El apartado artístico si que me parece espectacular, con escenarios sobrecogedores y un tono medieval que me ha gustado mucho. Debo mencionar también un NPC que me ha parecido interesantísimo ya que te permite acceder a información y resúmenes de personajes y acontecimientos que han ido surgiendo a lo largo de la historia que pueden aclarar muchas cosas que no hayas terminado de entender o que se te hayan olvidado, y me parece un gran añadido. Como puntos negativos debo destacar la pocas recompensas que hay por explorar el mundo, que algunas misiones son algo tediosas y la carencia que hay de elementos RPG, que se ha perdido bastante en esta entrega y aunque haya variabilidad en cuanto al uso de las habilidades podría haber sido algo más elaborado. En conclusión, Final Fantasy XVI está a la altura de los mejores de la saga y lo recomiendo a todos los que queráis gozar de una gran historia. 9,2/10

    Personally it's one of my favorite games from last 3 years and overall top 3 game of 2023. I'm the type who absolutely loves FF7 Remake and it's modern combat, so i'm only welcoming FF 16 combat. It's long, fun, sad, impressive, beautiful (graphics) and simply epic video game. Lots of monsters, bosses to fight with, lots of great characters and so on. As many have mentioned, side quests are meh at best, but that's my ONLY negative about this game.

    Perfromance will be improved 100%. At least they actually have two modes to choose from and i have zero issue playing the game 30fps, because it's just so good. But i'm also the type who finished Resident Evil 4 on PC (2007 release) without mouse patch, because game itself was simply so good, that i didn't even care how i played it.     きっと、サブクエって形式な時点で、切って捨ててる人が多いんだろうな思います。
    サブクエの中に、この世界を好きになっちゃう濃い内容が、散りばめられてるんですけどね。

    クライブがどんなどんな人達と出会い、どんな思いを共有していたのか、、、
    サブクエを通して知っているか、知らないのかでラストのパンチの演出の印象も
    変わってくると思います。

    So far I love it. I’m about 10-15 hours in, don’t mind that the game isn’t an rpg. Long cutscenes might take some getting used to but it’s a final fantasy game .. you know what you are getting into. Only knock right now is the side quests don’t seem to have the overall quality compared to the main quests.

    Tutte queste sono cazzate, questo gioco è perfetto, le mappe non ti fanno sentire intrappolato, il combattimento è veramente stupendo ( e con un minimo di testa, le mosse che occupano il campo visivo possono tornare utili se si usa il cervello)
    la storia è una delle più belle mai viste in vita mia, quando si pensa che si è raggiunto il picco massimo in uno scontro ogni volta si ha sempre di meglio, i cali di fps mai avuti, graficamente è spettacolare e i particellari che danno fastidio a chi non ne capisce niente sono invece STUPENDI. Non fidatevi di chi su youtube né sparla perché non hanno niente da fare se non lamentarsi e seguire la massa, compratelo e fidatevi non lo ridarete indietro mai e poi mai. Sto facendo il new game plus e non me ne pento.

Poco a poco este juego fue entrando en mi mente hasta que me dispuse a jugarlo en cuanto saliera. Lo que se mostraba del juego era tan prometedor y tan esperanzador que mis ganas por jugarlo se multiplicaban cada día más. Cuando por fin pude tenerlo en mi propiedad fue la hora de confirmar o desmentir todo lo que tenía pensado sobre él, para saber si me gustaría o no. Nunca me esperé que este juego calara tanto en mí desde el primer día que lo probé. Tanto su premisa e historia interesantes y crudas me encantaron, sus personajes tan únicos y vivos y las relaciones personales que tienen entre ellos, el estilo visual y artístico es único, y finalmente su jugabilidad parece venida de otro mundo. Sientes que estás ahí mismo peleando contra tus enemigos y enfrentándote al peligro tú mismo. Este juego definitivamente sienta cátedra en casi todos los sentidos. Final Fantasy XVI te muestra un mundo corrompido por el poder y la magia y te enseña cómo ésta puede corromper a las personas. Cómo el egoísmo se muestra en cada metro cuadrado del mundo, y cómo hay algunos que luchan por que la gente pueda vivir en paz, sin estar a merced de aquellos que harían lo que fuera por estar en el poder, masacrando pueblos y escupiendo en la cara de sus habitantes. Aunque esta gente buena no abunde, si el objetivo vale la pena se hará lo que haga falta por conseguirlo porque de eso trata Final Fantasy XVI. Aunque el horizonte parezca estar más lejos por cada paso que se da, aún se sigue viendo. Las personas somos así: si nos tropezamos, nos apoyamos en alguien; si nos caemos nos levantamos… Para lograr un objetivo hay que darlo todo, aceptarse a uno mismo, sacar pecho y enfrentarse a aquello a lo que más temes por muy imposible que parezca, pues solo así será cómo alcanzarás tu destino y así serás recordado, como la persona que lo dio todo por la causa, esquivó los obstáculos, se enfrentó a las adversidades y que nunca aceptó un “no” por respuesta. “Cuando una historia termina, otra comienza…” son las palabras que mejor pueden resumir el mensaje de tal obra maestra del videojuego.    … Expand

    In a bigger nutshell: I am a big FF fan, and while I missed a lot of what previous FF's had, and which people are giving the game a low score for, ultimately this is a new direction for FF and it is what it is, whether you like it or not.     For clarity, I have recently completed the game and have some content left to do in side missions and hunts.

    Positives:
    - Graphics
    - Worldbuilding
    - Voice Acting
    - Combat is great but can get repetitive
    - Spectacle
    - Some great characters
    - A fantastic set of villains
    - Decent amount of builds for Clive

    Negatives:
    - Poor writing in places
    - An over-abundance of relying on the player to seek out information that should be presented to them as part of the narrative
    - Side-quests aren't great and can be tedious.
    - Overall pacing
    - Lack of any meaningful item progression
    - Interactions during cinematics may as well not exist
    - An ending that ultimately gives no closure to the player and is open to interpretation, which I dislike

    Mixed:
    - Story - While good, it is a story that has been told before in FF14, with tweaks.

    I give the game an 8.5. Sadly, It is not in my top 5 FF's. I could be convinced to place it 6th!    … Expand

    The main highlight would be the combat which is quite satisfying and gets better the more you progress. The boss fights are some of, if not the most epic fights you'll find in a game as of today.     Now as for the rest, it's pretty okayish with both stinkers and good moments.

    So, basically the game tricks you at the start that it's gonna be brutal and unexpected, but once the intro is done it retracts from its decisions and it becomes the typical "go plant seeds and eventually kill God" type of game. There's just a couple, and literally a couple of shocking or surprising moments, but the rest is pretty standard and predictable.
    I do appreciate their focus on acceptance and treating people fairly and equally, regardless of who they are. There's even a really charming character which works in a brothel, and is seen and treated as an actual human being, which is something you rarely find in games. I did love that focus.

    The music is okay, the arrangements are super epic, but don't let that trick you, composition-wise it's nothing crazy. Yet there are some definite highlights. The simpler songs with just a piano or keys are beautiful, and the combat theme is also great. However, it is quite overused.
    None of it is at a Nobuo Uematsu, Yasunori Mitsuda or Yoko Shimomura level though.
    Music in cutscenes felt kinda weird a few times, like they put some song in the back to not make it awkward, and since it doesn't really match what's happening, it actually detracts a bit from the experience.

    The big stinky is definitely the sidequests, (and one specific silly dialogue in an argument, which i wont get into cause spoilers) and it's strange, because they only give you decent sidequests when you're literally in the last mission. And they're quite a lot. They could've spread them more evenly throughout the game and give an overall more positive experience. But up until then, I can just remember 2 sidequests that were good, which are kinda early in the game. The rest are a chore to play.

    Good game, not genre-defining or something like a masterpiece. It's a solid game but a departure from RPG with inventory & party management that defined the FF series. I had a good time but felt bored from some tiresome fetch side quest.

A exploração e a descoberta nos mundos incríveis de Final Fantasy também não existem mais. não existem raças ou culturas variadas, quando tem, não te surpreendem. Voltar pra um esconderijo depois de uma missão e sempre ver aquele mesmo ambiente durante toda a jornada que parece mais vc saindo de casa e voltando depois de ir no shopping,, padaria, mercado e afins, torna massante a avenura em momentos onde as batalhas épicas não estão acontecendo. Upar o Clive também se tornou uma tarefa chata, você não sente a evolução do Clive se ele não pegar um novo Eikon, e quando você tem seus preferidos e upa suas habilidades, eles tem um limite e os pontos ganhos vc pode upar habilidades que não quer usar, ou só deixar lá acumulando pra na, tentando melhorar seu dano com level que vc demora pra ganhar e nem sente diferença.
    A escolha por gráficos ao invés de expandir o jogo com um mundo maior e mais rico, armaduras diferentes, armas novas, culturas variadas e problemas diferentes, tornou este final fantasy, uma versão desidratada onde deixaram só aquilo que o povo sempre aclamou como aspectos importantes de um todo muito maior que deixaram de lado mas que fazia muita diferença olhando agora só história e gráficos isolado de ótimas mecânicas    … Expand

    Giving it an 8 feels a bit harsh, but the lack of a traditional party member system, and scaled down RPG-elements.
    This game doesn't feel like Final Fantasy and I can't help but feel a little disappointed.

The story is great, music is legendary as usual, combat is smooth and clean, cinematics/cinematic clashes are beautiful and the greatest thing added. It might be the first FF game ever where i did not hate a single character in it. The game made me emotional and i just loved every second of playing it. Some people will complain because it is not turn based but that's not really the style anymore and it would hurt the game more sometimes games need change but i do want to still see turn based FF games but this one defiantly did not need it. Overall please give this game a go, Square put so much love and effort into it even giving the game proper English lip sync/ the models were done with English which is rare, it has everything you will love from the FF series and more and if you have never played a FF game before hop in with FFXVI and enjoy the legendary game as it defiantly will go down in history as one of the best Final Fantasy games.    … Expand

    Producer Yoshida and many other key staff said, "This is a dark fantasy for adults. We put the most emphasis on the story. We are very confident in this work."
    However, what I saw was an incoherent and childish story.
    The end of the story? I don't really understand, but I beat the final boss and solved it with god-like power! Maybe, maybe.
    Is this for adults? No, unless you're a child, you'll frown.
    Even the end of the hero and heroine was ambiguous. I want my dozens of hours back.

    I think it's worth the price, but honestly it's a waste of time. I recommend watching a video of someone playing.    … Expand

    I am about 20 hours in the game and I can't wait to turn my PS5 on again, counting minutes to finish my job every day, sleeping thinking in the game, avoiding social life to play the game... such a few games makes that happen with me. I have to say, all the cutscenes are gorgeous and worthy the time in this game. Some side quests look very simple however they are all linked to the momentI am about 20 hours in the game and I can't wait to turn my PS5 on again, counting minutes to finish my job every day, sleeping thinking in the game, avoiding social life to play the game... such a few games makes that happen with me. I have to say, all the cutscenes are gorgeous and worthy the time in this game. Some side quests look very simple however they are all linked to the moment that the things are happening. I removed all the helping rings to make the game more realistic and the combat is awesome. I would give it a 10 if it had fishing (I loved that in XV) and also the performance mode needs minor improvements in the frame rate. I totally left my Zelda in the middle of the story and will not go back there until I finish this game. I will update this review once I finish the game, may take a while...… Expand

    As batalhas contra chefes nesse jogo são incríveis, realmente muito impressionante. A história eo gameplay são ótimos. Apesar de ter quedas de frame constantes no modo desempenho e ocasionais no modo gráfico, ele prova ser muito acima da média. Um excelente jogo.

    Overall game play is fine but the story is just incomplete. Subtasks are mostly repeating same thing over and over. The game has a good start but just end poorly. If this is not main FF series, it will be maybe score an 8, but for a triple A game and call itself FF 16, this certainly is not a game I would recommend.

    This is the best thing that a video game company has ever done to it's players! grew up together on a video game, this is for the older folks like me!
    People complaining about it's not turn based, well I'm a huge HUGE FAN of FFX turn base combat, and let me tell you that It was a big concern for me, since I played FFXV and was kinda meh for me, FFXVI it slapped my face and shut my concerns off.
    People complaining that they wanted an open world, yes there are video games like that and they are great, but WHY SHOULD FFXVI SHOULD BE OPEN WORLD?! it doesn't need this if you want open world go and replay Elders ring or whatever.
    People complaining about graphics blurry...... Really? did you ever played Undertale? great game no graphics whatsoever, if you want graphics go watch a movie then.
    People just want to hate this game because It's easy, Xbox fans maybe hitting the 0 zero score just because of that, but hey It's only exclusive for 6 months!, you will play it too Xbox lover and you will fall in love just hold your hate a little bit more.
    There are many reason of why I know you will fall in love of this video game but just to name a few...
    Great Combat
    Awesome graphics
    Unbelievable story
    Insane voice actors
    Epic battles, (I would dare to say that even better than any GOW battles IMO)
    No loading times at all (Maybe this has been done before but it's my first time on a video game this massive)
    Do yourself a favour, STOP hate over console wars and just enjoy the ride of good videogames, if you read this in order to get a desision if you should play it or not first of all thank you for reading, second of all you should!
    As a FF fan I will say this, Thank you! for this great experience! will definetly it has become one of my favorite for the whole FF Series.
    If you can, play it now PS5 users.
    If you can't, don't hit a bad score and wait for your experience once it reaches Xbos series on December, you will love it too!    … Expand

    Final Fantasy XVI is an excellent game in every way. If you're a fan of the series for the stories and characters, you won't go wrong here, and if you've avoided the series for, say, turn-based combat, the sixteenth installment offers the perfect opportunity to get started with this legend of the gaming industry.     New numbered FFs are good again. Stunning to look at, with new, punchy combat, and a great yarn, it is, if anything, too focussed, lacking a bit of the weird. [Issue#30, p.78]
