    Mi sento di recensire questo gioco come primo titolo valutato su metacritic nonostante il mio giudizio sicuramente non imparziale, la cui causa scatenante è sicuramente l'impatto che ha avuto su di me come primo final fantasy mai giocato.
    La qualità nello storytelling, nella cinematografia, nella creazione delle colonne sonore, nella componente artistica, nel doppiaggio, nel gameplay    Mi sento di recensire questo gioco come primo titolo valutato su metacritic nonostante il mio giudizio sicuramente non imparziale, la cui causa scatenante è sicuramente l'impatto che ha avuto su di me come primo final fantasy mai giocato.
    La qualità nello storytelling, nella cinematografia, nella creazione delle colonne sonore, nella componente artistica, nel doppiaggio, nel gameplay (seppur in parte tagliato per riempire vuoti che potevano essere lasciati tali per aggiungere chicche alla base più che solida) sono la prova di un grande impegno.
    Spero che nonostante alcune criticità riusciate tutti a godervelo come prodotto nonostante il cambio di formula, perché continuando per questa strada il brand può soltanto divenire migliore, e noi pubblico/fruitori dobbiamo farglielo capire.

    Incredible game. You can tell the team put a lot of heart into making it. I find the action gameplay addicting and rewarding. I find the graphics really beautiful. I LOVE the story, writing, and dialogue. I have no negative things to say about this game. I just love it too much.

    Amazing game. Beautiful story, well written characters, fun gameplay, god tier OST. My only issue is minor things like being unable to sprint in towns which can get a lil annoying when doing the side quests .

    Do not listen to the people review bombing for it not being a "Real final fantasy" This game is all final fantasy. It is easily the best final fantasy since X. (not counting XIV)

    This game is truly a work of art. Yoshida brought us yet another profound story with many diverse aspects. People complaining about the amount of cutscenes just don’t have the patience to enjoy the rich story and lore. 9/10 because although the side quests bring interesting perspectives, they aren’t always that fun to do.

    This is easily the best FF title I have ever played. I don't think I've ever felt more invested in a story. A must play for fans of the series. Highly recommend.

    The story, action, and voice acting are all amazing and has me hooked on every second. Pair that with the Godzilla like monster battles with old FF summons and good quality of life items like the active time lore, makes this one of my favorite games this year! Highly recommend if you are any type of FF fan!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. FFXVI’s gameplay is nothing short of exhilarating. Simplistic though it may begin, through progression, the combat becomes deep, complex, and extremely satisfying. Combat feels intuitive, simple, yet complex enough to offer variety. With “Devil May Cry-esque” combo style, when you finish a particular long fight with one of the Eikon’s final abilities (Mastered Flames of Rebirth being my personal favorite) you feel as powerful as Mythos should. Additionally, the game adds seamless transitions from in-game combat to cinematic combat in the form of QTEs (Dodge, Strike, and Clash) which enhance the spectacle without distracting you from the action.

    I played this with the Ring of Timely Focus equipped the entire time, so I can’t speak much about the difficulty save for it wasn’t as challenging as Elden Ring, but I also played it on story focused mode. I never felt underpowered or overpowered.

    Nothing more can be said about the writing accomplishments of the Final Fantasy writers other than they are some of the best in the industry and the writing in Final Fantasy XVI was nothing short of magnificent. Every story beat, every main quest, every side activity came with a compelling human story. Stories about slavery, prejudice, life, death, nihilism, everything in between give the story a more adult feel which is only made better with the atmosphere, characters, and score. Final Fantasy XVI is probably the first game in which the side missions felt just as important as the main questline. Even the dreaded “fetch” quests were brilliantly incorporated, and none felt like a chore.

    While the graphics won’t win it any awards competing with the graphical powerhouses by the likes of God of War Ragnarok, Last of Us Part II, or Horizon Forbidden West, the graphics in FF16 are a touch more improved than its predecessor FF15. Fidelity and textures aside, the environments themselves looked handcrafted and hand placed. The detail of each settlement, the topography, the atmosphere was expertly rendered making the world feel lived in, beautifully serene yet grim. From the forest, deserts, marshes, cities, hamlets, etc., the level designers have done so well with their world-building that I couldn’t help but to take a moment to admire the world around me no matter how trivial or insignificant they were to the story writ large.

    While much of the story has you follow open-world corridors, once you’ve run through the entirety of each territory, the map feels more akin to open sandboxes such as what Bioware achieved with Dragon Age II. But that’s not to say that this was poor design. On the contrary, the overall story benefits from the more linear paths to help players get invested in the lore of the world which by the way is a new feature during cutscenes.

    Amazingly orchestrated, FF16’s musical tracks perfectly encapsulate the atmosphere of the world expertly. Nothing more to say. It’s a Final Fantasy game afterall. My only complaint was the music that triggered when mounting your Chocobo which sometimes took me out of a serious moment with its goofier theme.

    I finished my first playthrough with a total of 64 hours of gametime. There is a New Game + feature in which you keep all your items and gear, but I haven’t embarked on that journey yet. However, I imagine that you can easily get more than 100+ hours of content out of this title which is becoming more of a rare oddity with recent RPG titles. And there are hopes of future DLC.

    In all my playtime, I NEVER experienced anything remotely buggy or glitchy. And as of this review, Final Fantasy 16 has not have a single update since launch and it doesn’t really need one. I should need to tell you how rare that is in today’s world.

    SUMMARY: This game is a masterpiece in my eyes. From the characters, the world, the story, its’ themes, its atmosphere, the musical score, the gameplay, the scale, everything just feels good, and I would hope after reading this review, you will give it a try. And if you are a fan of Final Fantasy as a whole, you must pick this up, you won’t be disappointed.    … Expand

    Although I don't like medieval settings in games and was hoping for a typical mix like previous Final Fantasy games, I got hooked by the great storytelling and the lovable characters.
    I deducted one point for the gameplay which could be better and feels plain after some battles.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. About half way through the msq and I have had an amazing ride so far! The graphics are stunning especially the battle cutscenes! I feel pumped up every single major battle!

    The music is also good and some of the tracks are total bops (especially the ones in major battles).

    I am loving the story so far and I think it has a really good main romance if you are in to watching a good slow burn ship.

    The side quests are the usual side quests in jrpgs. I actually have been reading them. Normally in jrpgs I like to skip the dialogue for side quests and just get them done. Are some of them “boring” fetch quests? Yes, but there was only one so far that I felt was super boring and could not wait for it to end and it was one of the last ones that I did. I have done every single side quest and hunt when they appear so far. All of the side quests do give better world building and look at the people in the world and how they are dealing with the difficult circumstances so I do recommend doing them. Most of them take no time at all to do. Some of them also lead up to you getting a trophy for the in game trophy shelf (like some of the apples or a chocobo saddle), ability to ride chocobos, or increased potion potency when you use potions. It may not be anything flashy as a reward (so far at least) but it still gives you something and you get more background story. As for the hunts, I really have enjoyed those battles.

    There is basically no exp grinding in this game. I personally look at that as a plus though. I am also not using any of the help rings that the game gives you but you can make the game more difficult or easy to your liking which is nice. I love the battle system as well. It has been very fun especially when you stagger the enemies. There are a handful of characters I really love so far: Clive, Jill, GAV, nektar, Joshua, and of course CID!! Cid in this game has to be one of my favorite characters in the whole entire franchise so far. I 100% recommend anybody to play this game!    … Expand

    Whoever gave this game a 0 hasn't played the game at all.

    Final Fantasy XVI is one of the best games I have played this year and easily beats it's predecessor. (Btw I love FF XV, played through it multiple times and plan on doing so in the future)

    The characters are compelling, the world is amazing and I couldn't stop playing.

    Final fantasy is the first game I've played in the series. Since the demo that released a few days prior, I have been extremely hooked on it. This game has been one of my favorite games to play this year so far and has been living up to the hype I had since playing the demo.     I loved everything about the game aside from the quality difference between the side-quests in the first half of the game compared to the quests in the last 3rd. The quests in the last 3rd were really engaging but I didn't feel the same about the other quests in the first 50% of the game.     FF16 lives up to the hype. The game is graphically beautiful with compelling characters and a gripping story. The gamplay is extremely satisfying and engaging. I don't think you could ask much more from a game. It makes the most of the PS5 and I hope to see more games like it in the future!

    In this modern world, I'm glad to see Yoshi-P and his team is not afraid to try new things and push things to the limit, truly showcasing what the PS5 hardware is capable off. Gone are the days where you wait for the next pre-rendered cut scene to happen. Now, not only you are part of the cut scene, they managed to introduce real-time action combat within as well.

    Of course, because actions are real-time there will be less turn-base aspect to them. Instead of planning and coordinating attacks by utilizing you 'traditional' team of 3-4. You now have to learn boss mechanics in real time. For me, this is not as issue as I also do savage/ultimate raids in FF14, and this actually makes combat a lot more interesting and can actually get quite challenging at times. I get how this can be challenging or frustrating to those who are used to more slow paced battles, but Yoshi-P's team spent the extra time to introduce items to make combat easier shows that they understand and they cares.

    Lastly, I just have to add that even if some players don't like this title because it is not 'traditional' enough for them and give this a big '0'. I'll challenge them and ask if they can rate the story, music and technical spectacle a '0' as well. If they do, than I'd say most other games out there also deserve a '0' except a very selected few.    … Expand

    Despite haters, the game brings a lot of excitement. I'm with 12 hours playtime, the music its the best part.
    I hope this game gets the audience that it deserves, its very well made.

    I really love this game. The story and twists are even better than in Game of Thrones.
    I think the side quests could be more exciting. Sometimes, like 2 out of 10, you just need to fetch or deliver something. I thought about skipping them, but don't do that. Some quests add a lot to the story.

    Overall, I'm happy with the game, I highly suggest you try it.

    Final Fantasy sixteen is a great game with a good story and great fighting system. It's something new compared to the previous Titels but I have much fun playing it.

    Visuals: yeah, combat is great and all with a lot of details. Running on a LG C2 TV, I can't help but feeling that sometimes all the details get mushed together along with the motion blur and it looks like sh*t. When it doesn't it looks good. Some environments are lacking "life" or some details. I feel that some locations got more attention than others.

    Gameplay: uff, you know what I really hate the most? when we return some items to a NPC... first we need to select the items, and then we need to press confirm... and there's always that small delay when delivering stuff and the quest actually completing, I just started skipping all this **** And people complained about unskippable merlin trials...

    I'm probably around mid game now: so far only crafted 1 (!!!!) sword, I rarely take notice on what I'm picking up, rarely go to see the items I have to equip, rarely look at the abilities or stats... there's just no point in caring about these systems.

    I'm playing on normal, but I don't like fast action games (or I'm not mentally able to play these anymore), so unfortunately either I use that ring that gives "auto attack" by spamming square (also the dodge ring) , or I'll just need to learn how to play the game like a pro: I don't want to neither do I have the time for that. With that said, my playstyle is like the following:

    watch movie > run straight > spam square > occasionally press R1 > repeat

    Not enough depth for me, but again, main story has been really good so far.    … Expand

    This game story took me back to the good final fantasy coming out in the west days 90s era.
    The combat is pure fun DMC style, the NG+ Final Fantasy mode and Ultimaniac are amazing.
    Game of the year for me.

    Di gioco di ruolo non ha quasi più niente, vi basti pensare che non esistono più le alterazioni di stato e i danni elementali sono inutili, se attaccate con il fuoco un nemico dello stesso elemento farete danni!
    Il design dei protagonisti è veramente squallido, il level up è praticamente inutile e potrei andare avanti    Se siete fan di vecchia data evitate questo final fantasy come la peste.
    Di gioco di ruolo non ha quasi più niente, vi basti pensare che non esistono più le alterazioni di stato e i danni elementali sono inutili, se attaccate con il fuoco un nemico dello stesso elemento farete danni!

    Gameplay is fun and satisfying.
    Music is so good it may be on the same level as Final Fantasy VIII
    Graphics are top notch especially the Eikon battles and the art style is immediately recognizable as Final Fantasy art style
    Story is great

    A must play for anyone that loves videogames

    FFXVI is one hell of an RPG. With an in-depth world & narrative, a wide array of well-written characters, addicting combat, and a banger of a soundtrack, this game has quickly skyrocketed to become one of my all-time favorites. Great job, CBUIII.

    Trilha sonora do mais alto nível.
    Nota 10 pela coragem da Square em trazer uma história digna de série HBO.

    J'espère que les prochains jeux AAA ne fassent pas comme FF16 qui pousse l'assistanat à un niveau honteux. On en est encore en 2023 à se rertrouver bloqué pendant 15 minutes dans un tuto qui t'apprend à appuyer sur carré pour attaquer au corp à corp, et triangle pour à attaque distance... on te met le jeu sur pause dès le début pour t'indiquer que le petit truc sur ta manette, ce qu'onJ'espère que les prochains jeux AAA ne fassent pas comme FF16 qui pousse l'assistanat à un niveau honteux.     Final Fantasy 16 is truly a GOTY contender in my eyes. The combat is very engaging, the soundtrack really gets you into the feel of the game, the graphics truly feel next-gen, although can be interrupted by the inconsistent 60-FPS, but isn’t a deal breaker.     It was definitely better than FF13 and FF15. I'm actually ok with the new changes that they have implemented, but I think among FF series, it had some of the least interesting characters. I feel like overall story progression gets less and less interesting as you near the end, and meaningless subquests also make things worse.     This game is just a perfect soup with all the right ingredients. Amazing music, addicting combat system, wonderful visuals and interesting story. Fully voice acted as well. Working on my platinum trophy and loving every second.

    I haven't cared for the Final Fantasy series for many years, but Final Fantasy XVI trailers piqued my interest. Needless to say I am not disappointed after playing, as this is by far one of the best Final Fantasy games ever made. I love the combat, the story, the characters just everything. The game is so good and I can't stop playing. Thank you for giving us this masterpiece, Square Enix! :)

Amazing dear to heart story amidst the dark setting, gorgeous environments and attention to detail, FF16 stands as a refreshing reinvigoration of the FF franchise. While a lot say it’s not FF, I’d argue it’s completely untrue, not with all the references and similar aspects of the much older FF titles 1-5 no one ever compares it too rather than FF7 onwards. Pair that with Soken’s godly soundtrack and unforgivingly epic spectacles with an amazing cast that leave me jaw dropping, FF16 is without a doubt a strong entry that deserves to be praised unlike the fake controversies stirring up. All in all, my only gripes are the performance mode, and the early side quests which can be basic (but the rewards of story much later pays off). Well, but the highest points are so ridiculously high it overshadows it. I can see why this may not be a game for some, but to those that understand Final Fantasy is a title that constantly evolves itself, I believe this is the right step for the future of the franchise after FF15’s development… Expand

    Is this even a FF game? Pretty much nonexistent gear and item system. Combat is screwy, two ability slots to use for all those skills. Yes, you can "queue up" four more and rotate through them, still screwy. Fights are short and easy. The story is so linear, you might as well be walking down a hallway. No chocobo music while riding! They have crossed the line here. What game is this?

    I can say that FFXVI is a must play for fans of single player action games. It’s a high fantasy anime action story with tons of great moments and jaw dropping visuals and animations. It wont be for everyone, but if you want crazy good looking anime action gameplay, this is one of the best games you could buy. The focus on action gameplay, instead of turn based or heavy rpg gameplay, was aI can say that FFXVI is a must play for fans of single player action games. It’s a high fantasy anime action story with tons of great moments and jaw dropping visuals and animations. It wont be for everyone, but if you want crazy good looking anime action gameplay, this is one of the best games you could buy. The focus on action gameplay, instead of turn based or heavy rpg gameplay, was a great decision imo. The gameplay is very accessible for beginners but also has a very high skill ceiling for gamers who like perfecting combat systems. You’ll feel like a badass early but, you can become like a god tier anime protagonist after you practice and play with all the mechanics for a while. The side quests and sheer amount of cutscenes/dialogue can be a bit time consuming and even tedious at times. You can skip through the side quest dialogue parts, and though you can, I wouldn’t recommend skipping through the actual cutscenes as most have important story content and amazing visuals at that. Overall, if you like world building and story driven content in video games then the side stuff and amount of dialogue/cutscenes shouldn’t bother you. The graphics of this game are insane. Without a doubt some of the most incredible visuals achieved in a video game both in and out of gameplay. The performance isn’t perfect (drops below 60 at times) and there aren’t enough visual settings to satisfy everyone (no toggle for motion blur) but, overall, the state of the games graphics and performance is certainly good enough to play and enjoy at launch. The story is very anime like, in that I mean its a fantastical adventure that has romance, sacrifice, world changing events, epic battles, themes of loss and hope. Its over the top and knows what genre it is. This isn't a grounded realistic game; the title is “Final Fantasy” in case you forgot. I will say that this Final Fantasy’s world, while still being absolutely fantastical, is a bit more grounded than its predecessors, which adds a cool unique vibe to the game’s universe. I think for most fans of action games FFXVI will be an 8 or 9 out of 10. For fans of story driven games and action games it may be a 10/10. The pros definitely outweigh the cons. Im more hopeful for the future of Final Fantasy now more than ever.… Expand

The battle system is unbelievably amazing and the story is quite interesting as well! The game is paced nicely between calmer parts of exploration and intense dramatic cinematic main story bits. At first I felt it was a little repetitive but once you get deeper and unlock all the options in combat it’s really a great mix up of skills and choices! The end to the second Act is *chef’s kiss*

    My GOTY. A great adventure with a great story and surprisingly a great romance. Epic battles with references and callbacks to popular franchises like Attack on Titan, Devil May Cry, DragonballZ etc. The story explores a variety of themes which brought me to tears at times. I didn't think it possible but it's now my favorite Final Fantasy of all time.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game tried to revolutionize its gameplay by adding hack and slash mechanics and RPG elements together but failed. The main reasons are the lack of the so called RPG elements: the party system, the elemental damage from the power of the eikons that you get, the alternate statuses, weaknesses and resistances from the monsters and bosses, secret dungeons and secret bosses. All of this aspects lacked from the RPG side of the game. As for the hack and slash side It was decent, doing combos was funny but It turned out monotonous since the enemies were easily destroyed with the ability ignition, except for the minibosses and bosses that allowed at least some variety by using for example Garuda and Shiva abilities for staggering, Bahamut and Phoenix for damage.
    The worse part of the game are the subquests and sadly only a few were good, the rest were fetch quests and defeat this and that.
    The main story was fine but a bit generic. It tried to be mature but It fell like an apple after the revelation of the evil god that wants to rebuild the world without humans because they're disposable tools. I played this game on performance mode and It was really disappointing to see soo many frame drops even during cutscenes, as for the graphics mode It wasn't that great between pixelated clouds and graphical errors on the desert I decided to remain on performance mode. In conclusion It was a disappointing experience that had a lot of downs than ups.    … Expand

My only issue with it is the side quests they feel kind of have baked and lifeless, other than that though this game is a work of art.

It does not overly punish mistakes and there are accessories available for those that are not as skilled at action combat. It has shallow, clichéd characters, a sub-par story, the most generic soundtrack I've ever heard in a FF game, no real exploration (everything is linear and you simply keep going from point A to point B in different places) and it has extremely (and I do mean 'extremely') shallow gameplay systems. YouThis is not the worst, but is one of the worst FF's ever made. (I've played them all.) You can't even call this game an RPG because it has almost no RPG elements, whatsoever. It's basically a long action game with 6 different sword slashing moves you can do, and some magic. It's set in a boring world that does not give you that same magical, awe-inspiring feel that you got with FF5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12 & 13. It also has the worst side quest content ever put into a FF game. Even worse than FFVII Remake's side quests, and that's really saying something. It is, in reality, a cheaper more stripped down game than FF15, and FF15 was already a pretty bad game compared to the previous games in the series.

    FF16 is, very honestly speaking, considerably worse than 15 and the sales are proving it. This game has only been out for a week and it's already bombing. During it's launch week, physical sales were 74% lower than FF15's launch week's physical sales. It's digital download sales are also far lower at less than 1/3 of FF15's download sales during it's launch week. And both of these figures are already dropping and it's only week 2! At this rate, this game is going to be one of the worst selling FF titles since the SuperNintendo era. And that is saying a lot. By FF standards, this game is tanking.

    On top of all that, players opinions of the game do not match what the main stream critics have been saying, which sends up major red flags. It seems very clear to me that we have yet another case of a major developer paying-off mainstream reviewers for high review scores. I mean, SE were already saying they were worried about the game selling well due to very low pre-order numbers. It seems more than likely that they "spent" some money to try to garner some positive feedback for the game. It obviously didn't work though, since in week 2 of it's release it's sales are plummeting as if off a sheer cliff. Don't be fooled by video game addicted, fanboy reviews. Do your own research. I made the mistake of buying this game (and have beaten all the previous games in the series) and quit playing it at the 6-1/2 hours mark. I just couldn't justify to myself spending any more time playing such a shallow, linear, stripped down, generic game.    … Expand

    This game is fantastic! I'd recommend it to anyone who is already a fan of the franchise, as well as new comers to the world of Final Fantasy.

    The cinematics and boss battles are probably the best I've ever experienced in a video game. The visuals are stunning and the gameplay is very diverse / customizable. Combat can cater to several different playstyles, which also gives the game    This game is fantastic! I'd recommend it to anyone who is already a fan of the franchise, as well as new comers to the world of Final Fantasy.

    Simply an astounding achievement. Only gamers stuck in nostalgia for turn based FF’s will review this badly. This is a wonderfully crafted game - with a ton of memorable moments. FF is back!

    I really wanted to like this game, I really did. This game falls short on so many levels and it’s a shame because there’s something there between the world building the characters the story presentation there’s definitely good points and potential. But they just chose to take it down a road where it doesn’t resonate as the final fantasy that I’ve been waiting for, not a perfect game but aI really wanted to like this game, I really did. Everything that’s wrong, No controllable characters the fact that you have party members that you can’t control at all just seems unnecessary the game is not even difficult so why even have uncontrollable characters in your party and torgle is a cheap excuse for a party memeber. The progression and customization is non existent. There is no depth. You literally just show up to the shop after every big battle and buy a new sword that’s a bit stronger than the other. No satisfaction from that. The explorable area seems useless nothing good to find and I found myself picking up 2 Gil way too often like it feels items where just placed there to just say they had items no thought out into it. When you defeat a boss the screen stops and you get taken out of the moment to sip through your exp and items and it just feels awkward especially for an action game. The cinematic scenes in the boss battles are pointless. The side quests feels like you’re playing an mmo. Overall this should have been a side entry into the series I would have been okay with that but this is not a mainline final fantasy game. Square shouldn’t have done stranger of paradise which was a pointless game and this could have taken it’s place and maybe we could have gotten a ff16 that we deserve.… Expand

    One of the best games i played in recent years, yes it is no typical rpg, its a "game of throne / Devil May Cry Final fantasy", witch is an amazing combination.

    Not everyone have to appreciate the game, if its not their taste, but boy, everyone needs to appreciate that this is a Full Triple A Masterpiece. Everything under an 8 is an insult in my humble opinion. -Oh Sidequest are    One of the best games i played in recent years, yes it is no typical rpg, its a "game of throne / Devil May Cry Final fantasy", witch is an amazing combination.

    i LOVE this game. Final Fantasy, to me, is an amazing story, game play, music, atmosphere, and characters. This game has it all. With that said, it does take an open mind, like really every FF game. This is a unique game that you may have expectations and assumptions about, and that's fine, but to put it into a box would be a disservice to the scale of consideration put into this game.i LOVE this game.     Final Fantasy XVI is an excellent game in every way. If you're a fan of the series for the stories and characters, you won't go wrong here, and if you've avoided the series for, say, turn-based combat, the sixteenth installment offers the perfect opportunity to get started with this legend of the gaming industry.     New numbered FFs are good again. Stunning to look at, with new, punchy combat, and a great yarn, it is, if anything, too focussed, lacking a bit of the weird. [Issue#30, p.78]
