    Haven't finished the game yet, but I'm enjoying It a lot. The graphics are reeally good, the combat system is pretty good (there's an action mode, don't equip the first rings or your character is going to play for you), and the story is awesome. I saw people complaining about the cutscenes... If like me you enjoy RPGs and their stories, you're gonna like It. If you don't, go play EldenHaven't finished the game yet, but I'm enjoying It a lot. The graphics are reeally good, the combat system is pretty good (there's an action mode, don't equip the first rings or your character is going to play for you), and the story is awesome. I saw people complaining about the cutscenes... If like me you enjoy RPGs and their stories, you're gonna like It. If you don't, go play Elden Ring and you'll be fighting with 0 cutscenes the whole game.
    I really like the Final Fantasy franchise, and really enjoyed the turn based fights. But it isn't turn based anymore for a long time... Even with FF XVII Remake. This is no different.

    People really need to stop reviewbombing. I'm talking to XBOX owners. What will give you the fact that you put this game and the rest of Sony's games with 0 points? Maybe we should just enjoy gaming and stop console wars that look like sandbox games. Now I'm talking to the Final Fantasy fans who are review-bombing the game for the "bad" combat system that "ruined" the game. PleasePeople really need to stop reviewbombing.     10 de 10 sin ninguna duda, lo disfrute de inicio a fin. Parte fuerte y sigue así hasta la mitad donde empieza a caer pero en sí ya es espectacular. Nada más que decir que la espera valió la pena, y en unos meses a Starfield en PC.


    Un buen año con juegos como Final Fantasy XVI, Tloz totk y esperemos que bethesta no la cage con Starfield.

    A great installment with a new proposal, the magic is felt in the game, it is a most pleasant experience, the game works very well for me, I have not had performance problems, graphically it is beautiful and I am enjoying the experience in Japanese n.n

    FFXVI is a good game and the best FF ever made.
    -Story has great pacing, many consistencies and explosive moments
    -Characters are relatable and some have interesting arcs -Performance is great during battle -The action combat has so much dept and every enemy can be countered in a satisfying way -Exploration is full with amazing scenery and interesting rewards -Side quests are    FFXVI is a good game and the best FF ever made.
    -Story has great pacing, many consistencies and explosive moments
    -Characters are relatable and some have interesting arcs
    -Performance is great during battle
    -The action combat has so much dept and every enemy can be countered in a satisfying way
    -Exploration is full with amazing scenery and interesting rewards
    -Side quests are interesting and a nice break to have
    -The sex and nudity on screen feels tantalizing and bold way to be inspired from GOT.
    More specifics pros are: great party member, nice magic effect, build customization, great equipment design, simply yet rewarding itemization etc...
    These points make this game the best FF in the series, showing truly how the series have evolved now.
    This is FFXVI and a true Final Fantasy. This is an RPG not a JRPG. Yoshi-P was being honest as always that this is an FF made to appeal larger audience.
    As a long time fan I hope Square Enix will keep going evolving the series, because now the future of FF is bright.    … Expand

    For me personally a 10! I really don't get all the 0s. The playstyle is fun, if you consider it to easy, don't play on easy mode or maybe play it once and then choose the "Final Fantasy Mode". I also like the story and especially the main Character, he is really interesting. Revenge-plot is there, but not all the way through.

    The side-quests are dull most of the time, but I liked them nontheless, because some told me a thing or two about the world and most are done in a short amount of time so you don't have to spend minutes or hours on a dull side-quest. But if you don't like them, they are not necessary to play, just leave them be. And yes, you only play one Character, but I had my fun with it, I don't always need to play 3 or more Characters at the same time. And the music in correlation with the gameplay, it's just so much fun! :) I also like the cutscenes...there are many, but I love that! It's a personal preference, if you don't like it, than yeah, maybe you won't like this game, but I love it...should I say any more of what I love and like? No xD I think you get it :)    … Expand

    For me personally the best FF experience I've had in the last 20 years and a step in the right direction.

    The combat is challenging and you need some time to get into but once you're there it's so rewarding to make those flashy combos.

    The story is a blockbuster to watch and that's exactly what I want from a FF title.

    This is one of the best games in 2023. A beautiful game with stellar combat, a mesmerizing story, and top-notch voice acting. Do yourself a favor and try out the demo before buying because I have no qualms about saying you WILL get sucked into this world and not stop until the credits roll.

    -"The game isn't an RPG" Sure the game doesn't allow you to fully customize your parties abilities, but you can change out Clives eikon based abilities to what you desire, and there are plenty of abilities to combine, it may not be a classic RPG system, but the elements are still there.

    -"Bad pacing" This is somewhat understandable about 40% through the game, but the story just had a pivotal moment, and can't maintain a super engaging/exciting story directly after something like that, no game or show can. Some people even go as far to say cutscenes arent skippable, which is just plain out false, you just need to pause and hold triangle...

    The game of course has its problems, like sidequests and exploration, sometimes the pacing is weird. Also the dialogue in some sidequest is awkward i can see some finding the combat repetitive.

    in a nutshell the main story is a 9, the soundtrack is a 10, the combat is 9.5, extras such as exploration, and sidequests i give it a 6. Overall i give it a 9 since combat, soundtrack and presentation are the main focus of this game.

    This is a fantastic game! My favorite Final Fantasy is FFX, then VI and then VII. However, this is pretty close to VI and VII. The combat is soooo good and addicting and, while this has a darker story, it is very thought provoking and takes risks. Characters are fantastic and voice acting is superb. The story is linear and this is a zone-based game rather than open world, but it is a goodThis is a fantastic game! My favorite Final Fantasy is FFX, then VI and then VII. The problem that you’ll see here on Metacritic is that many Final Fantasy fan boys miss the golden days of Final Fantasy (FF1 - FF10). They are angry that the franchise is evolving (combat system, party system, etc.). This game is very divisive, as was FFXV. However, though their opinion may be valid, I recommend that you try the game regardless. This is a FANTASTIC game. If you like story and good combat, this is for you. Don’t let these scores deter you from trying. Form your own decision, like I did. This may not be your Final Fantasy of the old days, but this is still a great game!… Expand

    Compre la versión coleccionista y no me arrepiento de lo que gasté, su historia es muy buena, asi como su banda sonora, su jugabilidad totalmente distinta pero algo muy divertido que a la final de eso trata los videos juegos, personajes muy entrañables, es decir un Final Fantasy a toda regla.

    Terrific story and characters. A marked improvement on FF15. Combat might not be to everyone's tastes but I liked it. Final Fantasy has always been about pushing the envelope and trying new things and this is no different.

    The story is phenomenal, and the pacing is on point. Many may say it has "pacing problems" but that is not true, a story properly having moments of high action interspersed with slow quiet moments is not a pacing problem, it's just good storytelling. Games telling a story cannot and should not have constant, uninterrupted action.

    The combat is surprisingly deep. If you don't turn on easy mode, it provides an incredible challenge that can be met with a variety of gameplay styles, from a melee focused parry build to a ranged caster that focuses on dodging. The more Eikons you get, the bigger your potential arsenal becomes.

    Graphics are just amazing. There is nothing to say. The visuals are incredible and the vistas sweeping and detailed.

    My single complaint is that there is no kind of mini map or map overlay. Either give us full map accessibility or no map.

    The FF16 team has also said that they will be patching in additional features at a later date, like disabling motion blur, which should help many people.

    And when reading reviews remember this: A game should be rated on what it is, not what it is not.    … Expand

    Final Fantasy 16 is not a perfect game. It by far the best Final Fantasy to come out in quite some time. I’m absolutely shocked this game is being hated on. I’m assuming it’s because it’s not turn based? Either way this game should be looked at for what it’s done for the series.     Consider then that we have either 10 or 0 and then....look at the game. Just by looking at it do you think it is 10 or 0? This thing with negative funboyism and flaming has to stop.     This game needed an 18 rating. It allows it complete freedom over a more adult and visceral story. The heavy influence of 'Game of Thrones' in the politics, and 'Attack on Titan' in the colossus level bosses, shows how much care and dedication went into this game. Gameplay-wise it's definitely a different tone for a Final Fantasy game, but the story is very much in-line with what the fanbase knows and loves as the epic that is 'Final Fantasy'. The game delivers, there's no doubt about that. It's undoubtedly one of the best games of the year, and very much a contender in the running for GOTY. The adult themes are a blessing because it allows the game to actually tell a more human story. War, sex, politics, slavery, deceit, and death. Soldiers fighting wars for their nations while the Eikons, superpowers akin to nuclear weapons, take to the battlefield devastating everything in their wake. It's a refreshing take on how world-shatteringly destructive Eikon-possed humans can be when used to alter the tides of war.    … Expand

    Final fantasy 16 is absolutely amazing . Everything is perfect from the story to the epic boss battles .     It took a while to get into the game after the demo area but the story managed to draw me in and every moment I find myself wanting to know what is going to happen next. The combat was dull initially but I tried to spice things up by trying different combos and it ended up really fun.     I can relate to a lot of the low reviews from people who have played the game properly.
    It's not that there isn't a single thing that I myself found lacking.
    But I despise those who try to manipulate the score with childish and miserable feelings just because they don't like the way FF16 is rated.

    I've also seen some people say that the higher rated reviews lack specificity and that the lower rated reviews are more specific and helpful.

    The immersive experience is unprecedented and you never know when to stop playing.

    Amazing. The music, art, visuals, story-telling -- this game has it all. I've been playing for hours at a time for the past few days and haven't been able to put my controller down as of yet. Yoshida and his team really put everything into this and it shows. More games need to take note -- a must play.
