    As a casual gamer I actually enjoyed my experience with Diablo IV, but I was never intent on playing the game for years to come, I spent about 100 hours on just one class and moved on. This initial experience of going through the campaign, mastering my class and even doing some of the late game activities was rather fun. I'm really not interested in the seasonal grind and sinking 1000s of hours into this, but my casual experience was enjoyable and worth the time and money spent.… Expand

    Diablo 4 is really hit and miss. The initial stages of the game are fun, story starts strong and introduces some interesting characters and while the story loses some interest in later acts it's still a decent campaign overall.

    The levelling, skills builds and loot in the 1-50 range is pretty average. The huge range of loot affixes and aspects mean you can never actually have a "build"    Diablo 4 is really hit and miss.     The levelling, skills builds and loot in the 1-50 range is pretty average. The huge range of loot affixes and aspects mean you can never actually have a "build" while levelling and you are wearing whatever has the best main stat and sometimes a preferred aspect or two. Changing your skill tree and using occultist is both expensive with poor UI.

    Hitting about 50 gets more fun again. The capstone dungeon is well designed and other content like tree of whispers, helltides, wold bosses and nightmare dungeons all open up. These are all fun for a while but a little basic.

    After a while the same levelling, skill builds and loot issues become a real killer. The poor damage bucket and stats design, poor loot quality and drop rates and prohibitly expensive respecting of aspects, skills, upgrades, paragon points and item re-rolling makes progression feel super stale.

    The later endgame (80+) is a grind with very limited scope for testing new builds or improving gear.

    Season 1 patch has totally nerfed XP, survivability and damage to the point that I don't think I can make any progress towards my seasonal char with limited playtime. The devs have totally failed to improve build diversity or implement any QoL changes leaving the game in a worse state than pre-season.

    I might roll a new seasonal char and play a few hours, but unless the new Malignant Hearts mechanic is super-engaging (sploiler: it's not) I don't see myself getting anywhere near the endgame again.    … Expand

    Unfortunately, there is little content after the story and once you hit about level 65-70 the grind loses its fun. The power creep seriously drops off and there is no reason to grind to 100. Its gameplay mechanics are also perfectly fine, and seems to perform relatively well on a PS5. However, the areas in which it is adequate do little to mitigate the impact of its greatest issue - it is not all that fun to play. It feels soulless and vapid in a way that prior games have not. Even in the state it was initially released in, Diablo 3 did not feel this lifeless or pseudo-predatory when it comes to time spent playing.

    Whereas most console incarnations of Diablo 2 and 3 allow you to play the game offline for at least some of the time, Diablo 4 demands that you are always online. It also really wants you to engage with its controversial seasonal content. But perhaps most egregiously, the main tasks of the game - finding legendary loot and slaying powerful enemies - just isn't as fun. It all feels like banal busywork. And for a game franchise that has provided me with so much fun over the years, this feels deeply disappointing.

    Diablo 4 is not worth its currently commanding price tag. It is a game that I often find myself begrudgingly convincing myself to play out of a lack of better options. Perhaps at a lower price, this game would feel like a sensible purchase; perhaps with refinement by its development team, the game might feel more engaging and fun. It is a game I regret purchasing, even as I begrudgingly state that it is a perfectly fine game with no glaring flaws - however, in comparison to what came before it, I believe it fails by trying to toe a line between a modern live-service product and the Diablo games of old. I recommend either waiting for its price to drop, or checking out either Diablo 3 or Path of Exile if you are looking for more cost-effective isometric ARPGs to play.    … Expand

    Good game, but from level 70 and up it gets repetitive and tiring, you have to find new things to do from there to make the game more attractive, but even so, it's really cool to play with friends.

    I’ve finished the game as Barbarian. And it was kind of…boring. You just hold X, wait for the rage to fill and then push “square”. I had another build, it was one more button complicated.    Long awaited game for me. Not because I’m such a big fan of Diablo series in general, just really wanted to play co-op story game with friends. Developers do not treat us often with that kind of games.

    I’ve finished the game as Barbarian. And it was kind of…boring. You just hold X, wait for the rage to fill and then push “square”. I had another build, it was one more button complicated. The main problem is difficulty. On the first run I was only able to choose second difficulty as highest, not taking into account the last one, where you could only die once. On this difficulty there was only one boss, who fought back - Butcher. All the others, including Lilith - we’ve been just standing in one spot, holding X, pushed second, rarely - third button sometimes. And that’s it. No challenge. At all.

    What really pissed me off - is that Blizzard has purposely left difficulty change for after the campaign is done. I was here only for the campaign. I don’t like being restricted and pushed into the “endgame” content. I’m not interested in pointless dungeon exploration, looting etc. Endgame - means that game is finished for me. At this point I exit and go sell it.

    Another mistake player like me could make - take side missions. By the 60-70% completion of the main story you’ll be around level 45-50. That means further development of your character is pointless and brings no joy. You already have all the main skills, it makes no sense to change the build, because the game already doesn’t challenge you at all. So just follow the main story, I suppose that way the gameplay will be more satisfying.

    Graphics are beautiful. Locations too. Sound is good. Atmosphere great and story is pretty good for the series. The main problem is that there’s no challenge for people, who are only after story completion. Vampire Survivors were more complicated.     p.s. Haven’t played Season 1, I’ve finished game before. Once again - the idea of going through Season 1 only with a new character is unimaginably ridiculous. I don’t want to go through that same story and locations once again.

    p.p.s. I understand, that it’s hard to balance between 2 major groups of Diablo audience - those, who don’t care about story and are only interested in “Endgame” and those, who are, like me, here only for the main story. But, remember “If you chase two rabbits, you will not catch either one”.

    What is not so great is a lot of issues with rogue class where any back piece ornament will clip into bow/crossbow.
    The horse gets stuck on a lot of objects. The endgame paragon farming can get a bit repetitive (you have helltides, dungeons and world boss) there is a lot of room to grow though and that's what I hope for.    Game plays very well in general, the main story is interesting.

    There is no joining someone's party from the lobby like in diablo 3, meaning that if you want to experience multiplayer content you have to have friends or spam area chat.
    I know it's pretty early now but the balance is non existent. If you play rogue you mostly just go twisting blades or flurry. Most bow builds are meh same as cold imbuement. It just does not compare to the poison or shadow.
    The amount of transmogs there are in the game is kinda low which again I hope changes as they add more content.    … Expand

    For instance necromancer have blood, minions and bones spells. The game will push you to take all the minions skills to optimize your gameplay. So the build variety is quite low, and enabled by legendary items.

    Add to that, no loadouts, expensive respecialization, it's tedious to try new builds, you need to find legendary items, manually respecs all your points, and you cannot test your builds and evaluate it with metrics. You have no dummies to try your build on. So if your new builds feel less good, you need to pay again to respecs, and put all your points, gear back as it was before with no way to save it. The game highly discourage build exploration.

    Nevertheless the game is entertaining enought and killing demon mindlessly is relaxing. Hopefully the futures updates and seasons will improve the game to make it more fun, not tedious    … Expand

    There are some major missteps that need to be rectified though. QoL is poor, with too little stash and tiny character inventory. Yet again loot is disappointing as if they learned nothing from Diablo III. Legendaries amount to crafting materials, unique affixes are iffy, and incomprehensibly they put in ultra-rare drops that most players will never see. Why do that in an essentially solo game that revolves around loot? There is no random grouping for nightmare dungeons, and respeccing a character costs a small fortune in gold. This design decision makes no sense in a live service game where a patch can break a build overnight. It should have been free - optimizing gear is already a substantive gold sink.

    Also conspicuously missing are the cow level, gold and item find gear that was a staple of previous Diablo games, and the Horadric cube. Treasure goblins are stingy and even after the buff gold shrines are barely worth clicking. One has to wonder if the development team has even played the previous Diablo games.

    Hopefully Blizzard will get the issues rectified more quickly than they did for Diablo III. It certainly has potential but it's not a great game at this point.    … Expand

    It is much better than a D3 but I am story player so ofcourse i See the problems with items, dull hours of only a few or not enaough types of enemy or planty blind spots in medium locations no good reason to play after 60 level but still it is big step from the D3 in story telling and i love diablo vibe and hyoe(not perfect but not so stupid like last one)

    El primer Diablo al que juego en profundidad y me esta gustando. Es un gran juego, pero la jugabilidad que tiene no me enamora. Una vez llegas al nivel 54, ya eres tú el que decide si quieres seguir sumando horas a más de lo mismo o pasar a otro juego.

    - Pourquoi tel personnage traque tel autre ? - Pourquoi tel personnage ne meurt pas quand un démon la possède (décidément toujours la même, sans compter son inutilité dans le Lore) ? - Pourquoi ... cette fin, sans aucune explication, par ce perso qui au final sort de nullepart ? - Pourquoi... etc etc    L'histoire est vraiment mais vraiment baclée.

    L'histoire aurait pu être bonne: la guerre entre Lilith et Inarius, mais elle a été mal écrite, mal racontée, limite nanardesque (Inarius bordel...)
    Heureusement certains persos sont bien écrits (les 2 Horadrims avec leurs forces et leurs faiblesses humaines, ainsi que Elias qui agit "logiquement")

    En ce qui concerne le gameplay (finalement le plus important pour 80% des joueurs) et bien moi j'aime bien. Il y a des changements par rapport à D3 mais ils sont les bienvenus
    Le monde ouvert est également cohérent et donne un sentiment de liberté.
    Pour le reste c'est du craft et des heures +++ à passer pour obtenir du matos, on aimera ou pas mais au moins la durée de vie sera au RDV

    A noter également que excepté hier pendant 1h30, les serveurs ont tenu le coup

    Enfin contrairement à ce qui est dit, il n'y a pas de microtransaction honteuses comme dans Immortal. ici il n'y a que du skin, en tout cas pour le moment.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Great game. Probably the best in the Diablo franchise. Much better than the trash known as Diablo 3. I never give any game a perfect score, but as far as Diablo games go this is as near to perfection as the series has come. I would give it an 8 if not for the required internet connection which drops it 1 point solid 7/10 at least. I haven't played too deep into the campaign yet, but there is enough exploration, side quests, and dungeons to keep you busy for hours. The game rewards exploration and completing side quests/ dungeons. The side quests are my favorite addition as they are all dark and gritty while being compact yet in depth and enjoyable sub stories encapsulated within the main plot. To give an idea about the amount of exploration and reward that can happen here. I have barely completed act 1 and am already level 47, I have just barely started exploring the area to the northwest of the beginning region. This is from doing side quests and optional dungeons. A huge amount of work has gone into world building and emersion. The graphics are beautiful and don't resemble the comic book style of WOW and Diablo 3, which is a huge plus. Alot of the WOW DNA that contaminated Diablo 3 Is gone and replaced with all new mechanics. The leveling up system feels more akin to Diablo 2 than Diablo 3. The game as a whole feels like a sequel to Diablo 2 rather than Diablo 3 and this is also a huge source of brownie points. As a Diablo fan that has been with the series since the first game port on the PS1, this is a must play.

    I see alot of hate for this game saying the patches made it unplayable or something. My response to this is get better. You can respec your class at any time for a cost. My necromancer has made it through the patches unphased ( I'm playing a summoner). Currently enjoying earning the blood steed in an unpopulated server.    … Expand

    I am glad they brought back higher difficutly levels, the the problem with them is that there is only 4 of them.

    Another issue with the game, steaming from it being a live service game is that the XP grind at higher levels is so high, I have not even reached max level (100), and people are saying once you hit 85 you are only half way done with the XP grind, that how badly the XP required to level shoots up. Another issue with it as a live service, is always online, I like playing solo, why do I need to play online if I am just going to ignore everyone else in the game?

    Would I recomend this game, well at $70 depends, but if it goes on sale for $50 or less, I would say yes.    … Expand

Although I do miss the days of being able to pause a video game and no lag.     O game é bom, mas o endgame está bastante massante e desequilibrado, atualmente estou nível 90 e os equipamentos de nível 64 estão mais fortes que o de nível 90, o que não faz o menor sentido, os drops raros são praticamente impossíveis de se conseguir, early game ok, end game ruim

I played a little Diablo 2 Remaster but couldn't get into it as I found it quite punishing and found difficulty playing with KBM. This is the first multiplayer RPG game I've gotten into in a long time. Yet again though, I see a lot ofI actually think this game is pretty fun.     Game was excellent before Patch 1.1 and I enjoyed playing a lot. Played hundreds of hours and was striving for reaching lvl 100. Now with all the nerfing and helltides getting gutted, I don't see the point.

    Feels like the time that I've already invested just got wasted by Blizzard with a flick of a number, which speaks volumes if you should ever by another blizzard game.

    - Legendaries and Ancestrals need a name change to Powerball and MegaMillions. You have to go through 100's of them to find something to tolerate.
    - There is a LOT of stuff that is unexplained by the game. You must go find Youtubers to teach you otherwise you end up with 20 levels after you unlocked it, you will find things like the 's' button is a key part of a build or that power level, except for 700 and above, means nothing at all or that... list could go on for four or five paragraphs.
    - Only two or three side quests have characters and stories that are worth reading, and while we are at it (finger pointed at the whole industry), I am the most powerful wizard in the world...I defeated what heaven couldn't and your idea of great side quests are make them an errand boy *sigh*. If unlocking paragon points wasn't attached to them, I would never look at them again, as they don't effect jack.
    - Microtransactions, although not nearly as bad as 3 was in the beginning, if you want it, one complete outfit can cost you as much as the game.
    - If you don't pay for the season, your playability will be very limited.

    The Ugly
    - My biggest beef with Diablo IV is that in eleven years of development only this much got done? I expected more than a reskin with new skills which makes Diablo IV an eleven year old "Madden" game. You know the one, where EA updates a roster, adds a couple words and charges $70 every year. It took Blizzard 11 years to do what EA does every year.
    - Multiiplayer is super lacking. No hopping into random "Riifts" or interacting at all, in fact, when you see someone cross your path, you end up going the other way because it hurts you. My question is, what's the point of clans or being online-all-the-time if there is no good way to interact (other than emote "look" five million times). I joined two separate clans and unless you Discord, there is no simple way to hang out and join parties. Again, a D3 reskin.
    -Im old, I have seen and played all four iterations of Diablo on day one. If you look at the base, you will see a trend of most saying D2 was the best iteration, and with that I agree. Why is it we keep getting further from the best iteration rather than build upon that one? Oh yeah, that model didn't have season passes, microtransactions and was heading in a fantastic direction that we could all see.    … Expand

    This game deserves a 7/10 for me. While the story was captivating the gameplay was a bit lackluster after gaining some momentum. Once the story was complete at Level 50 I lost interest and noticed people started to fall off. Honestly nothing else for me to do unless seasons is your thing which you are forced to start a new character from level 1 every season.

    I believe that Diablo 4 has been overly criticized. It seems evident to me that the shortcomings in the game's endgame will be addressed. Even in Diablo 2, there were many issues before the "LOD" expansion came out.

    Apart from that, the game is quite enjoyable while leveling, and the itemization is well done. It deserves around 8 points in my opinion.

    Game is boring. Ive played Diablo since forever. It seems that nothing is wrong with the game overall. But it is just extremely boring. Somehow clicking same buttons in D2 and D3 was fun. And here it is not. Shocking for me is that it was even more fun in Diablo Immortal (which I didnt play for long but still)

    - items seem irrelevant now that monsters scale with the player level. because of that, you can't go back and get a better item to optimize your character to beat a boss. no you have to beat a boss with the items you have, or beat it at a higher level with the items that you have then. so simply forget about items and just equip the best rare damage+armor that drops.
    - all those other player names running around really breaks immersion and makes it feel more like a Diablo reskin of WoW, than an actual Diablo...
    - graphics are nice and way bettter than d3, but even the horizon zero dawn port from 5 years ago looks better
    so i rate this a solid 6.

    however if im honest i should rate it a 1 because :
    - always online is one thing, but idling for a few minutes results in disconnects, on which you loose game progress (esp. annoying in singleplayer)
    - this is by *far* the most expensive game i bought since diablo 3 (2012)

Loot has always been central to the series, but in D4 the enemies are constantly leveling with you as you progress. This means the shiny new weapon/armor/trinket you picked up isn't going to turn you into a killing machine, but will allow you to do the same percent of damage to the enemiesSoulless, mindless, joyless... Diablo IV is a devolution of the franchise into an endless grind. Loot has always been central to the series, but in D4 the enemies are constantly leveling with you as you progress. This means the shiny new weapon/armor/trinket you picked up isn't going to turn you into a killing machine, but will allow you to do the same percent of damage to the enemies around you that you've been doing since the beginning. There's no progression of power over your enemies, you're just treading water. You'll unlock new powers, sure, but you'll end up spamming the same basic attack to build up some form of power, which you'll then use to fuel your other basic attack. Repeat as needed. Sprinkle in a couple other abilities on cooldown, and there's your endless loop.

    There's nothing strategic about gameplay. There's no different approach or creative planning. There's only avoiding telegraphed attacks when they happen, which becomes almost impossible when the screen is filled with enemies.

    Diablo IV quickly loses its luster in the early hours of the game, and never really grows beyond what you learn in the starting zone. There are other "Diablo clones" that do the Diablo formula better, for less money, that won't dissapear once Activision decides it's time to shut down the servers.

    If you must buy it now, get the $70 (cheapest) version. The more expensive versions only come with cosmetics that don't add to the gameplay and at least to me, aren't worth the money,    … Expand

    The inability to play offline, and therefore pause and attend to real life like an actual human being is a big put off when considering playing the game more. Every game doesn't need to be GaaS / SaaS. I wish devs would stop trying to squeeze every percentage of a cent out of their customers and give us offline modes.    … Expand

    I love the game, it has some minor flaws in some systems that's why I'm rating it 8/10. Already spend 100+ hours on it and I plan on spending more

    EDIT: After 200 hours the game got boring very quickly in the late game, changing my review to 6/10. Didn't even bother playing Season 1

    If you want to be positive, you can say there is a good skeleton for a game here.
    Otherwise, it's just another failure. Yes, the artstyle is nice, the story certainly better than D3, cutscenes are pretty good... but ultimately that doesn't matter much in a game like this.

    What matters is loot and the way you progress. It mostly sucks here for now.

    So in previous diablo games level of monsters was fixed. So player CHOSE difficulty by going under level. (if player power is lacking) to grind more and catch up, and keep game difficulty enjoyable. or go over level (if player power is above the curve) and raise difficulty to make it enjoyable.
    because monsters just level up with you, and you have NO choice to pick difficulty for yourself... in many case game is boring because its too easy, or its boring because its to hard and grindy. Game does have same time in golden middle, but not much. It is even worse for your alts.
    One of solutions would be : allow player to -X +X monster levels, that this will reduce/increase XP and Magic find but allow players TO PICK GAMEPLAY THEY WANT TO HAVE!
    Itemization is also boring after first 100 hours. You almost never ever see anything new and interesting. You have seen all legendries by then. And diablo 4 drops very few interesting unyque's. fail here too.
    so... its ARPG, looter to create power fantasy for players. And D4 fails at both power fantasy and loot part.

    I would recommend Blizzard to focus on creating quality gameplay, instead of focusing on creating perfect platform to sell battle passes and overpriced cosmetics.

    If you like ARPG - give Diablo 4 a try. I still believe it technical masterpiece worth experiencing. Only don't plan to spend 3000 h on it like you did in Diablo 2...    … Expand

    Nerfs to builds 2 days after launch. Wasting your pre-launch build planning. Hopefully they will not do that to season launches.
    Low dungeon randomization. Leading to high dungeon predictability / determinism of certain dungeon features.
    Low mob density. Partially making players walk more than kill monsters.
    The general low mob density and low dungeon randomization also causes dungeons with high density clusters to be more efficient to farm to the point where only 1 or 2 dungeons are being farmed by the community.
    Group play has so many benefits that it trivializes and exploits certain aspects of the game. That can be ok if the ladder will be split in solo only and rest.
    Bad class balance. Some classes are good and fast while leveling and in endgame. Some only in endgame. And some seem to be worse in all parts of the game.
    No super rare powerful chase items like rare runes in D2, Mageblood in PoE, etc.
    Legendary / unique affixes which add dmg multipliers to specific skills. This creates a balancing hell where one or two skills will always be better to pick due to their affixes being more powerful (see Whirlwind for Barb or Twisting Blades for Rogue). Instead of having generalized affixes which make many different skills more powerful, increasing build diversity.
    UI made for consoles / controller limitations.
    No social features like party finder. I would expect this from an always online, shared overworld game.
    An enemy level scaling where mobs also gain levels when your character levels up. This will cause your character to sometimes get weaker when leveling up due to mobs sometimes gaining more stats than you on level up.    … Expand

    * The game mechanics feel very limited. There are only very few ways to customize a build and everything feels "on rails". After around level 30 you are just putting skills in +1% perks. Other ARPGs are lightyears ahead here.
    * Most smaller quests are just "fetch X" quests and get boring very quickly. Even the main story is barely meeting the mark.
    The other stuff:
    * Microtransactions are bad blah blah, but D4 can be played just fine without every looking at them, and they are really not the reason why this game is just not that great.    … Expand

    I'm definitely not here to review bomb, but i'm also not entirely in support of diablo4 at this time.

"get good" should never get in the way of just have fun. Even build % charts show 90% of each class using that one ability, there's literally no other way to get by. They shouldnt nerf these builds but bring all the other abilities up to match them.

    The gameplay is fluid (for the most part). Mounts are janky and get stuck on the smallest rock, and there's many times you'll be in battle only to have your character stop moving and attacking because he's clipped through the floor sightly and you have to dash to fix yourself.

    What hurts the game is it's repetitiveness. Sure, that's what this game is going to have, but they literally have 120 dungeons, and there's maybe 3 or 4 styles of dungeons with 5 or 6 objectives, and 5 or 6 rotating bosses, leaving the game severely hurting next to the large random rifts that their previous d3 rifts provided.
    Replayability is possible moving to a new character, but the game severely punishes this in a way with the amount of storage space you have. I personally have an endgame character with all 4 stash tabs mixed with "class specific" legendaries, so starting a new character would literally mean destroying most of that equipment, or going back to the diablo2 days where you have to make a character specifically to hold gear. Also, when it comes to loot, they say they want legendary loot to be rare so it feels like you've accomplished something when you find a piece, but i believe they should go back to diablo3's roots on this, and if a legendary drops you should be able to trade with anyone in your party, as i run with another player on the same class we just have different builds, it sucks to be in a party and something drop epic for them that you also helped work for, but you're missing that party trade timer of old.

    In summary, diablo4 is a well built game, but i feel like by the time season 1 rolls around, if the rewards arent great, i dont see many people wanting to start the game over again. The repetitive cycle on the game is very unforgiving like others of it's class. Only time will tell, and i hope in the coming months i'll be able to return and push my score up a little bit, but ultimately..... diablo2 > diablo3 > diablo4. Not a good trend.    … Expand

    Incredible art everywhere you look, the map feels alive.

    I love to find other players every now and then, the scaling is great to play with friends.

    The dungeons are awesome, TRY PLAYING WITH LOTR OST, its epic.

    First of all, I'm not a hater of the game, I hope that Blizzard will work on it over time.
    The story was good up to act 5 which felt like a chore to me, especially when I was already 53 when I finished the act 2 because I cleaned the first 2 zones completely and felt the need to rush the campaign to unlock the T3 difficulty while I just wanted to explore the map. T3 should be unlocked at lvl 50, not after the campaign because what's the point of having such a huge world to explore if you're block the difficulty behind the campaign.

    Limited trade : I really don't like the idea of not being able to trade my perfect roll legendary that I can't use in my build. Some people will say it encourages RMT and ... I don't care, that's not my job to fight against bots, it's Blizzard job, they're taking the easy way out by removing a key feature of ARPG for a lot of people.

    Balance/bugs : There are huge disparities between classes which isn't helped by the bugs but that's not something engraved in stone, it's gonna change, yeah the actual balance is pretty bad and we're only one week into the game. Balance is especially bad if you're not playing a strength class in late game but that's an "easy" fix (comparatively to other problems about design of the game itself)

    Itemization : I didn't know what to think about it during the beta but now that I've seen it up to late game, I would rather go back to usual stats, I don't like the "close/distant/vulne" stats. They add no real value and are hard to quantify in effectiveness. I have around 1500hrs in PoE and 3000hrs in D3 and those stats still confuses me.

    Scaling (with a bit of itemization) : I get the idea behind it, being able to play with your friends and all but to me, I feel pretty bad chasing the same item I already have, just with +10ilvl. I like the idea that, if I can kill a monster in 2 hits at lvl 20 and I doubled my damage 10 lvls later to OS that same monster. That's how I feel myself more powerful, seeing change over time.
    At the moment, the game on that point feels more like a cookie clicker. That's especially true after lvl 70+.

    The mount : It's getting stuck on everything ... You can't sprint in town, in fact it's the same speed as if you were walking.

    Stash : We need a gem and an aspect inventory, they're taking way too much space for something WE NEED to have, idk why it's not already in the game while we already have a ressource inventory.

    And yet, even with all of this flaws, I'm still rating 6/10 because I truly think it's a good base for a game and I have seen much much worst of a launch ... but I wouldn't recommend it atm, especially if you're into playing all day long, as a casual, yeah maybe because you'll most probably won't encounter the late game problems before they fix those.    … Expand

I feel like the developers just didn't have enough time to put enough content in the endgame and are hoping to fill that out later with expansions and such. It was when I hit endgame that this really became a terminal issue for me as, without the story to focus on, the scaling system just imbues the whole experience with a nagging sense of pointlessness.… Expand

Personajes a los q dedicas 200 horas para q no valgan en julio porque patata, aqui la gente lo defienden diciendo q en los otros juegos hacen lo mismo, eso no significa q este bien, es una excusa porque saben q no pueden meter contenido suficiente durante 3 meses para cada temporada y lo resuelven haciendo q te vuelvas a subir el personaje, envez de subir el cap lv en cada temporada y seguir subiendo estadisticas con nuevas zonas con enemigos de mayor nivel e ir añadiendo habilidades para los personajes cada temporada para aprovechar los niveles nuevos. Supuestos arreglos que lo q hacen es romper o nerfear builds segun les salga del culo, como en el overwatch con los personajes, q unos valian y otros no segun el parche. Un endgame basura de repetir mazmorras de pesadilla como un condenao durante mas de 100 horas. Con el nivel 70 con nigromante ya me he cansado hace tiempo. Unas misiones secundarias a las q empece poniendo atencion, pero que segun avanzas, lo q te cuentan es una mierda, no tienen relacion con el mundo del juego. Por poner un ejemplo reciente, Final fantasy 16 tiene 4 misiones malas por tutorial, pero cuando pasan 4 horas de juego son misiones q profundizan en los personajes y en el mundo, ademas de mejorarte opciones o mecanicas del juego o añadirte mejores equipaciones. Pero claro, diablo tiene 200 misiones y eso conlleva q la mayoria van a ser basuras, q se arreglaria rebajando el numero de misiones y aumentando la recompesa, q por cierto las recompesas son penosas. A nivel tecnico el juego va como la mierda desde que salio, han mejorado pero sigue estando mal. A mi personalmente me parece q blizzard no valora desde hace bastante tiempo a sus jugadores, el overwatch que lo abandonaron ellos mismos y con el 2 mienten sobre lo q van a añadir y hasta sus propios creadores de contenido se estan quejando. Activision no pinta aqui, pero como son empresas conjuntas, el cod se va muriendo y sus jugadores no paran de quejarse. Espero q con este diablo no pase eso y de verdad mejore mucho, pero con el historial q llevan lo dudo. No lo he disfrutado y si no hacen nada dudo q vuelva a jugar, son 80 euros q me han dolido gastarme.… Expand

They added great visuals, lots of superficial content and great cinematics, which were mainly used for marketing. They tried to create a story around it. They failed. A lot of core features aren't functioning well or lacking entirely from the game. I thought it wouldn't be fair to leave my score as a 0 since they seem to be actively trying. There is still a far way to go with this game and I hope Blizzard gets community feedback before presenting future patches which will avoid issues going forward.

It’s best to move onto other titles as I don’t feel confident that the current team they have for Diablo 4 understand player wants.     If this was just a Netflix series it would get high marks. The talent on the animation and storytelling is wonderful. I suggest playing on low difficulty setting since you don't want to get frustrated by the nonsense game system they twisted into this and also to ignore the endless variations of items and just stick to a few good things that compliment whatever your build is and thenIf this was just a Netflix series it would get high marks.     There is a lot of going back and forth here and there and it takes way too long to get the horse to speed it up.

    They should of made this game first person like Fallout 3 or the new Zelda games. Then the devs would probably of saw how they could streamline items to matter more and not try to make things interesting with complexity since the top down gameplay feels stale to most people. It just turns into flyswatter mechanics.

    At this point the devs need to look in the mirror and realize that they should take out about half or more of the affixes on items. There is no reason for different crits for different situations. Anything elemental should be intuitive like how Zelda does it. They dont have a huge stat sheet since you can FEEL how much stronger it is to freeze something and then hit it with fire.

    Diablo IV feels like you should be playing it in Excel and not as a game.    … Expand

    I really did like this games art direction/story/ and gameplay. Its unfortunate they really killed the endgame with the patches nerfing the enjoyment of the game and the pathetic first season. Maybe I'll come back when they fix it.

    GRAPHICS, ART and SOUND:
    Somewhere between the dour, dark and evil tones of the Diablo 1 and 2, and the brighter, more arcade-like art of Diablo 3. The environments are relatively simple but well made, with enemy design and animations being detailed and impressive. Character customization is also at a new high for the series (admittedly not a high bar to clear).

    GAMEPLAY:
    On the plus side, each character seems to have a variety of unique, interesting fighting styles, and often have ways to set up combos within their abilities. Several of these can help other players in your group as well, letting you tag-team larger monsters. As usual, some classes are harder to play than others, but that's not unexpected; the main issue is that a few classes seem drastically underpowered compared to others (at the time of writing, Sorcerer and Druid suffer from this).

    Diablo 2 had slow progression, especially in its endgame, but Diablo 4's mechanics seem to be actively trying to slow you down. You can't get a horse until quite late in the campaign, making it slower to traverse the world map. Gear stats are incredibly minor, making any upgrades from piece-to-piece feel tiny, removing much of the joy from finding new loot, even for 'legendary' items. Loot on the whole seems lackluster, with even larger bosses not dropping much of interest.

    In battle, many better skills have lengthy cooldowns and mana (or 'resource') recharge is much rarer for most characters, meaning for certain builds you will be running in circles waiting for your cooldowns or mana to recharge during tougher fights.

    In addition, enemies scale to your level. This isn't an issue on its own, but it also means you can't go back to an earlier area to have fun curbstomping weaker foes, and you can't find higher-level enemies to challenge yourself against and try to eke out a bit more XP. This leads to a disheartening feeling where despite better gear, better skills and better skill, you never really feel like you're becoming a powerhouse, always stuck slogging through even chaff enemies if your big combos are on cooldown.

    In addition, enemies lack diversity, and you'll often be fighting the same enemy types throughout the game with slight color differences.

    The gameplay is still good, and has a decent core, but much of the design choices surrounding that core seem to detract from the fun of it.

    STORY AND LORE:
    Oh boy, where do I start?

    Okay, for one, the setting has been greatly expanded and we get a good look at the 'good' forces of Sanctuary. We also see a lot more of the corruption and temptation aspects of evil and how people can fall to it, as well as the zealotry and disturbing nature of even the 'good' side of the conflict. Good stuff.

    However, the main story is... eh. It's so, so close to being good on a number of occasions. Lilith is a good antagonist, with clear motivations and sympathetic but still EVIL feel to her. Several other characters have decent arcs as well.

    The problem is there are multiple moments in the story where I stared and shouted 'WHY?!' Why would you leave the place where you are protected to get some fresh air to be literally captured seconds later? Why would you taunt your arrogant ally with the macguffin you have so they confiscate it from you? Why would you listen to a deal that a literal greater demon is offering you? WHY would you have a major boss from an earlier game pop up with NO build up and NO reason, just to further your character's badass credentials right before the last act?

    There's so much to work with here but missteps seem to plague the plot's every move, and many parts of the story feel needlessly dragged out to make sure you visit as many corners of the map as possible.

    DESIGN:
    Baffling. There's so many poor design choices that hold this game back. No horse until over halfway through the game. Incredibly slow progression. Poorly implemented caling enemies. Incremental gear. The lack of balance smacks of being redesigned at some point.

    CONCLUSION:
    Diablo 4 is decent, even good. But it's not great.

    ARPGs rely on a good 'feel' to prosper. Diablo 2 is my favorite in the series because I adore the feel of it, no matter how old the game is. Diablo 4 struggles with that. When it worked, it worked well, but too often I got annoyed with small quality of life issues and design choices. So while I enjoyed the game, I can't say that I feel the need to play it further.

    Honestly, at the end of the day, it feels more like they took another game and did it up to look and sound like Diablo, but it doesn't truly play like Diablo.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. average game, but what ruins it is that it says at 6:30pm est today on ps5 that the qeue wait time is 2002 minutes… this is unacceptable, this game doesnt have to be always online… more character inventory space would be greatly appreciated as well as battle mobility options for the necromancer class. Graphics and animations are above average. Music is above average. The game levels you to rapidly to adequately explore the entire map

    The always online concept is frustrating, even with strong internet connection the character lags or bounces all over the screen. Lack of swapping for equipment sets was not expected. Character inventory is insufficient and unacceptable. For these reasons the game is average.    … Expand

    I find this iteration of Diablo to be incredible dry and boring. The campaign is mediocre at best, but i found the campaign in Diablo 3 better. This russian looking backgound is stale and gets super boring quick and i miss the diverse backdrops of Diablo 3 with Heaven, Hell, Palaces, large cities, desserts etc.
    The sidequests are all the same and there is a billion of them. Simple kill or    I find this iteration of Diablo to be incredible dry and boring.     They didn’t took any risk

    - itemization: bland, soulless, boring
    - story: decent until your character took the damn stupid decision to refuse Lilith offer
    - campaign: so many unskippable dialogues… escort mission and low mob density
    - skill system: boring and limited. The 4basic, 4 core system makes it have max 1-2 decent build per class. There is no possible theorycrafting or diversity possible. The generator/spender system has been a franchise killer

    Combat: the amount of CC you have to endure is killing the fun, especially for melee. It doesn’t matter to have unstoppable 4 sec… you’ll be Cc for the rest of the Cooldown of your skill. Pvp is decent

    Endgame: boring same crap

    Crafting: non-existent

    Qol: lacks so much of it… no map overlay, no gem tab, no proper search function

    Ui: this game was created for console and its limitations, so when ported to pc it feels so much shallower because Pc can do so much more    … Expand

    -The game is dark "just because". Being darker and grittier doesn't make it a better game. It just means I will never open up this game in front of my children, and that makes it that there are less opportunities to play it.

    I really really want to like this game. I just can't shake the feeling they just want this to badly be an MMO. The feel, the always online approach, the fact that it's difficult to solo. Blizzard could have done so much better. I just feel cheated. It doesn't hold the same attention as the previous 3 games did with me. If you like MMOs, this game is probably a 9...if you just wanted toI really really want to like this game. I just can't shake the feeling they just want this to badly be an MMO. The feel, the always online approach, the fact that it's difficult to solo. Blizzard could have done so much better. I just feel cheated. It doesn't hold the same attention as the previous 3 games did with me. If you like MMOs, this game is probably a 9...if you just wanted to play an old school diablo game, go buy 3 or 2.     I had very high hopes for this game, it didn't meet them. The most fundamental problem is that the game is just not fun to play, it all feels like a chore and you never make any progress. Majority of the game is you walking very slowly from A -> B.     ... List goes on with MANY more exactly the same.

    The cinematics and music (you have to tweak your audio settings, turn down SFX to ~50% if you wanna hear the music while playing) in this game are fantastic.

    All in all the game is not fun, most of the time you are just slowly walking without killing any monster, very sloppy and bland story, game lakes itemization, very good cine matics and music.    … Expand

    This game is pretty good if you look at it as a single player game and play only story. The story is quite good but has a week ending. Execution is 10/10 though. Cut-scenes and voice overs are amazing. Graphically it looks nice. And that is where the fun stops. The gameplay is quite boring. Players are pushed in these little frames and have to run certain builds otherwise are punished. YouThis game is pretty good if you look at it as a single player game and play only story. You are punished if you are playing solo as well, as teams can progress four times faster. The end game is boring as you will be running the same dungeons again and again. Loot, even though is most important part of any build, at the same time is irrelevant. You will dismantle/sell 999 items out of 1000 in end game. Helltide is another end game activity which is, as you might have guessed it - very boring. World bosses, legion, tree of whispers (if I remember correctly) are boring and waste of your time as rewards are meaningless. PVP is least balanced of all the games I have ever played. There can be 40 lvl difference between players and guess which one will be oneshot killed?
    So, would I recommend this game? Yes, if you are casual and a fan of Diablo franchise. As I said the story is very good and acting is at a different level. Finish the story and be done with it as the rest is not worth your time.    … Expand

    Fun at first 10-20 hours but get boring some time after. No content no story nothing, just keep spamming skill to monster. Maybe it's not my kind of game and also cash greedy as fxck.

    I keep thinking of the term 'surface level', I think everything seems great as you're whizzing by on the story but when you stop to have a look, it gets very dull and fast.

    The short number of skills you can have assigned seems like a step back and the PC experience feels like its held back.

    There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.

    The visuals are probably what excited me the most. The way the game looks and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm playing the old Diablo again. On steroids and on a quadruple screen TV, but the feeling is still there. [Issue#328]

    Diablo is back, and taking no prisoners. The top-quality, lengthy campaign will be enough for some, while the endgame should prove a welcome obsession for others. [Issue#30, p.84]
