Oct 21, 2024While I’m definitely a soulslike fan, I don’t need every game in the genre to follow the formula that FromSoft has laid out, and I’m glad that there are studios like Trialforge who are willing to do something different. The foundations are familiar enough to appeal to anyone who enjoys these kinds of experiences, but those looking for a little different will be pleasantly surprised. I appreciate what Deathbound brought to the table, and I look forward to whatever Trialforge does next.

Aug 8, 2024Deathbound is a game in the style of the Soulslike genre, with a special mechanic that is to control many characters with different fighting styles. It has an interesting story and is easy to follow. It is quite challenging for fans of these games but the graphics are not the best.
-
Aug 8, 2024Deathbound is a good game, but it has some technical flaws such as visual bugs, unpolished animations, and a low variety of enemies. It genuinely pays homage to its soulslike peers, featuring an original and progressive story and brutal combat.

Aug 9, 2024Deathbound brings some interesting ideas for soulslikes. However, design and technical issues prevent it from achieving a more prominent place in a genre such concepts are fundamental to determining what is really good.
-
Sep 6, 2024A unique spin on the soulslike formula, Deathbound has some good ideas that aren’t always executed perfectly. Challenging and frustrating in equal measure, this is nevertheless a decent take on the genre.

Sep 12, 2024Deathbound shines with ambition and innovative ideas, but stumbles in execution. Its unique party system and fascinating setting clash with technical issues and weak narrative, with the result of an imperfect but intriguing experience for Soulslike fans.
