    It really is a bad as everyone says. It’s not just because of glitches that can be fixed. This game makes you play as a “specialist” hero. To be honest I got the game for 25$ and it’s not even worth that. Unless they completely do away with specialists,add back classes, add team death match, breakthrough, and rush. Add scoreboards, and hardcore mode. Remove weapon bloom entirely. RemoveIt really is a bad as everyone says. It’s not just because of glitches that can be fixed. This game makes you play as a “specialist” hero. To be honest I got the game for 25$ and it’s not even worth that. Unless they completely do away with specialists,add back classes, add team death match, breakthrough, and rush. Add scoreboards, and hardcore mode. Remove weapon bloom entirely. Remove the invisible walls that litter the map . And give out all future dlc free this game will never recover. I genuinely feel bad for people that bought it for $70 on Ps5. The maps are complete garbage as well. Mostly flat like everyone says. They really shouldn’t have even finished this game. This game should have been scrapped before launch and remade completely. Dice has completely ruined Battlefield and Battlefront inside of 4 years. Our expectations were not “Brutal” as the whiny devs say. They were realistic. You could’ve literally given us Battlefield 4 Remake with more maps with the graphics of 2042 and new weapons, and everyone woulda been happy. That’s how low the bar is. And how far below the bar the developers actually fell. They tried to make a game for everyone who plays battle royal AND battlefield fans. That will never work.
    They are 2 different types of demographics who want different things. People buy battlefield to play battlefield, it’s not that freaking hard to understand this. Trying to combine both of those wants into the ONLY 2 FREAKING GAME MODES in the main game is really terrible project management. I don’t even count Hazard zone because Dice, from internal reports, has already given up on it on account of no one playing anymore after trying it for 1 match.

    You really can see traces of 2 different games that have nothing to do with each other here. One trying to be cool and edgy and hip, and the other actual Battlefield. Sadly it suffocates real battlefield and no one is happy. Everyone only liking and giving kudos to portal mode proves my point they could have just remade battlefield 4 with better graphics and more maps and weapons to the adulation of fans. 0/10

    Another big AAA release in 2021… and ANOTHER HUGE DUMPSTER FIRE. Terrible performance, politically correct inclusions, awful maps, questionable servers. I genuinely can’t think of anything good to say about this game, I know some people enjoy BF portal but all that did for me was help illustrate just how bad modern BF is compared to even BF4.

    It looks like a game that's not even half finished. I didn't like many of the additions and there are numerous issues in regards with the gameplay.

Huge, sparse and underpopulated maps that take 2-3 minutes of running just to reach the first signs of battle. Have the developers ever listened to the community or even played previous Battlefield games? Sadly not.     Not even a battlefield game. It's a game with bots. Barely any actual capture the flag/region. The maps are too large and sparse so only vehicles matter. But there aren't 124 vehicles for everyone. It just doesn't have any battlefield things in it. Not even the core of squad gameplay taking a flag with different roles (I love being a medic or antitank).

    My favorite series for 20 years. I    Not even a battlefield game. It's a game with bots. Barely any actual capture the flag/region. The maps are too large and sparse so only vehicles matter.     My favorite series for 20 years. I played the original 1942 with WW2 airplanes taking off a a carrier and bombing wake Island. I've played codename eagles the precursor to battlefield. And no one played that game. Like 100 people on all servers in the best night. Mostly like 20 people.

    Yeah. I love working as a team, taking out enemy tanks, reviving my teammates, coordinating with squads to outflank and outthink the enemy.

    This wasn't a game about being a twitch shooter. It was a game of tactics, strategies, communication, teamplay, making a plan. It was amazing. So so so so so so amazing.

    And it's over. Just like when counterstrike was new it was the best. like halflife and team fortress 2. Nothing beat battlefield.

    It was a good run DICE. You gave me the best gaming experiences I've ever had, for years and years. Battlefield 4 was the pinnacle. I actually like the cops vs robbers too. That was the best spinoff. Battlefront was pretty good too in it's own ways.

    Most boring battlefield game i've played in my life, BORING maps BORING gameplay BORING start and end of match with the most cringe voiceline on these fornite/warzone bs "specialists", this is not a bf game, it's more like a battle royale but they changed it 2 months before release, FCK EA AND FCK DICE

    I'm so disappointed in DICE. They seem to have completely forgotten what made battlefield good. And they have repeatedly not listed to the fan base. The soul has gone. The game is full of gimmicks. The frame rate makes it unplayable even on a high end pc. Even if it did play well, the UI, the level design, the woke stuff - it's an unmitigated embarrassment.

    Another bad battlefield release. Bullet spray is bad. Audio is bad. Maps are empty and open, there is little to no destruction. There are no scoreboards, voice or any type of team work. You can’t see who needs a revive. The interface is messy. Only long ranged weapons are viable due to the size of the maps. I could go on but this is basically an awful game, it’s like a planet side 2 copy,Another bad battlefield release. Bullet spray is bad. Audio is bad.     A game of this caliber with a budget should not be released in this state. Seems like all time was spent on developing new "diverse" specialists, most of which are trash. Weapon selection is minimal. Weapon attachments are minimal (many duplicates). From what I can tell there's no wall leaning or underwater swimming. Requesting squad leader roles doesn't work so you're stuck playing 99 outA game of this caliber with a budget should not be released in this state. Requesting squad leader roles doesn't work so you're stuck playing 99 out of 100 games with a potato squad leader that doesn't set objectives. Map design is average at best, open bland maps. Nothing like what we had with bad company 1 & 2, bf3, or bf4. Map destruction starting with bf1 has been limited. It's even more limited in bf2042. Completely op smgs, no zeroing for snipers, slow reload or gun ready animations, this game feels as if it should've been released late 2022.

    I give it a 0 because it should never be released like this. The devs and publishers knew better. If it was the first title from a small team I'd give it a 5. But companies like EA and Dice have proven to be pos companies ran by pos people. They dont deserve our money.    … Expand

    The music alone makes this a definite zero. Is it unfair? No because my ears are bleeding. I literally can't even find a match in my region. Good job removing the server browser!

    I can't believe how I've gone from being a die-hard battlefield fan starting with 2 on PC, to hoping the series dies with this iteration. So many of the defining characteristics of battlefield are gone. Squads mean nothing (I don't know why they even exist in the game), there are no classes, and worst of all I can't even pick my gun or specialist because the game is so bugged. The onlyI can't believe how I've gone from being a die-hard battlefield fan starting with 2 on PC, to hoping the series dies with this iteration. So many of the defining characteristics of battlefield are gone. Squads mean nothing (I don't know why they even exist in the game), there are no classes, and worst of all I can't even pick my gun or specialist because the game is so bugged. The only thing remotely okay is the portal mode, which is literally just a copy of previous battlefield games with this new buggy game engine. Another thing you should know, this game only has two real game modes, both of which are locked at 128 players on maps that are too big and too empty where so that the only viable way to get kills is with a tank, helicopter, or sniper. I've been a loyal battlefield player for numerous years, battlefield 4 was your best game, battlefield 1 was definitely fun, however this game is 100% hot garbage.     DON'T BUY IT!

    Do not believe that portal can save this game, it can not!

    This is the first time that I wanted a refund on PS.

    The game is buggy and boring, If you like Battlefield keep playing the older ones!

    3 months later, gave up on it. DICE can give 2 **** about the community let alone for this WokeField 2042. Game is still not even near fixed, no new content, for those who paid gold or ultimate, won't get season 1 until sometime in the Summer (almost a whole year after launch). Pathetic to say the least

    It's really bad, I would have a difficult time purposely making a worse battlefield game. In my view they took everything that made battlefield a unique and special franchise and totally destroyed it. As longtime fans of the series, my group and I feel overwhelming disappointment.

    No reasonable scoreboard (in competitive mplayer game!!!). Poor map design. Guns with no kinetic power. Visuals good only from a distance. Poor customization and soldiers design. No war climate. No reason to play this scum. Applaing for a refund.

    Unbelievable, we wait for so long for this release? At least they have to give the game pass free, or full refund! Avoid the game for now for sure, listen me is unplayable, voice is at 30% adaptive triggers are not in use

    While the repetition and lack of content cooled my enthusiasm a bit, I am excited to see where DICE can take Battlefield 2042 from here — if current industry trends hold, I’m confident this will be a strong addition to my already-full shooter rotation after a few months of additions and updates.
