    It really is a bad as everyone says. It’s not just because of glitches that can be fixed. This game makes you play as a “specialist” hero. To be honest I got the game for 25$ and it’s not even worth that. Unless they completely do away with specialists,add back classes, add team death match, breakthrough, and rush. Add scoreboards, and hardcore mode. Remove weapon bloom entirely. RemoveIt really is a bad as everyone says. It’s not just because of glitches that can be fixed. This game makes you play as a “specialist” hero. To be honest I got the game for 25$ and it’s not even worth that. Unless they completely do away with specialists,add back classes, add team death match, breakthrough, and rush. Add scoreboards, and hardcore mode. Remove weapon bloom entirely. Remove the invisible walls that litter the map . And give out all future dlc free this game will never recover. I genuinely feel bad for people that bought it for $70 on Ps5. The maps are complete garbage as well. Mostly flat like everyone says. They really shouldn’t have even finished this game. This game should have been scrapped before launch and remade completely. Dice has completely ruined Battlefield and Battlefront inside of 4 years. Our expectations were not “Brutal” as the whiny devs say. They were realistic. You could’ve literally given us Battlefield 4 Remake with more maps with the graphics of 2042 and new weapons, and everyone woulda been happy. That’s how low the bar is. And how far below the bar the developers actually fell. They tried to make a game for everyone who plays battle royal AND battlefield fans. That will never work.
    They are 2 different types of demographics who want different things. People buy battlefield to play battlefield, it’s not that freaking hard to understand this. Trying to combine both of those wants into the ONLY 2 FREAKING GAME MODES in the main game is really terrible project management. I don’t even count Hazard zone because Dice, from internal reports, has already given up on it on account of no one playing anymore after trying it for 1 match.

    You really can see traces of 2 different games that have nothing to do with each other here. One trying to be cool and edgy and hip, and the other actual Battlefield. Sadly it suffocates real battlefield and no one is happy. Everyone only liking and giving kudos to portal mode proves my point they could have just remade battlefield 4 with better graphics and more maps and weapons to the adulation of fans. 0/10

    Another big AAA release in 2021… and ANOTHER HUGE DUMPSTER FIRE. Terrible performance, politically correct inclusions, awful maps, questionable servers. I genuinely can’t think of anything good to say about this game, I know some people enjoy BF portal but all that did for me was help illustrate just how bad modern BF is compared to even BF4.

Huge, sparse and underpopulated maps that take 2-3 minutes of running just to reach the first signs of battle. Have the developers ever listened to the community or even played previous Battlefield games? Sadly not.     Not even a battlefield game. It's a game with bots. Barely any actual capture the flag/region. The maps are too large and sparse so only vehicles matter. But there aren't 124 vehicles for everyone. It just doesn't have any battlefield things in it. Not even the core of squad gameplay taking a flag with different roles (I love being a medic or antitank).

    My favorite series for 20 years. I played the original 1942 with WW2 airplanes taking off a a carrier and bombing wake Island. I've played codename eagles the precursor to battlefield. And no one played that game. Like 100 people on all servers in the best night. Mostly like 20 people.

    Yeah. I love working as a team, taking out enemy tanks, reviving my teammates, coordinating with squads to outflank and outthink the enemy.

    This wasn't a game about being a twitch shooter. It was a game of tactics, strategies, communication, teamplay, making a plan. It was amazing. So so so so so so amazing.

    And it's over. Just like when counterstrike was new it was the best. like halflife and team fortress 2. Nothing beat battlefield.

    It was a good run DICE. You gave me the best gaming experiences I've ever had, for years and years. Battlefield 4 was the pinnacle. I actually like the cops vs robbers too. That was the best spinoff. Battlefront was pretty good too in it's own ways.

    I'm so disappointed in DICE. They seem to have completely forgotten what made battlefield good. And they have repeatedly not listed to the fan base. The soul has gone. The game is full of gimmicks. The frame rate makes it unplayable even on a high end pc. Even if it did play well, the UI, the level design, the woke stuff - it's an unmitigated embarrassment.

You can’t see who needs a revive. The interface is messy. Only long ranged weapons are viable due to the size of the maps. I could go on but this is basically an awful game, it’s like a planet side 2 copy,Another bad battlefield release. Bullet spray is bad. Audio is bad.     A game of this caliber with a budget should not be released in this state. Seems like all time was spent on developing new "diverse" specialists, most of which are trash. Weapon selection is minimal. Weapon attachments are minimal (many duplicates). From what I can tell there's no wall leaning or underwater swimming. Requesting squad leader roles doesn't work so you're stuck playing 99 outA game of this caliber with a budget should not be released in this state. Nothing like what we had with bad company 1 & 2, bf3, or bf4. Map destruction starting with bf1 has been limited. It's even more limited in bf2042. Completely op smgs, no zeroing for snipers, slow reload or gun ready animations, this game feels as if it should've been released late 2022.

    I give it a 0 because it should never be released like this. The devs and publishers knew better. If it was the first title from a small team I'd give it a 5. But companies like EA and Dice have proven to be pos companies ran by pos people. They dont deserve our money.    … Expand

    I can't believe how I've gone from being a die-hard battlefield fan starting with 2 on PC, to hoping the series dies with this iteration. So many of the defining characteristics of battlefield are gone. Squads mean nothing (I don't know why they even exist in the game), there are no classes, and worst of all I can't even pick my gun or specialist because the game is so bugged. The onlyI can't believe how I've gone from being a die-hard battlefield fan starting with 2 on PC, to hoping the series dies with this iteration. The only thing remotely okay is the portal mode, which is literally just a copy of previous battlefield games with this new buggy game engine. Another thing you should know, this game only has two real game modes, both of which are locked at 128 players on maps that are too big and too empty where so that the only viable way to get kills is with a tank, helicopter, or sniper.     This is the first time that I wanted a refund on PS.

    3 months later, gave up on it. DICE can give 2 **** about the community let alone for this WokeField 2042. Game is still not even near fixed, no new content, for those who paid gold or ultimate, won't get season 1 until sometime in the Summer (almost a whole year after launch). Pathetic to say the least

    It's really bad, I would have a difficult time purposely making a worse battlefield game. In my view they took everything that made battlefield a unique and special franchise and totally destroyed it. As longtime fans of the series, my group and I feel overwhelming disappointment.

I crashed my fighter jet on a couple of buildings and it didn't even have a scratch, let alone get blown up. I destroyed a tree and the branch was flipping around a million times in the air. Speaking of the air, I literally saw a land vehicle flying in the air. ThisThis game is easily the worst Battlefield game I have ever played in my life. The physics in this game are complete garbage. I crashed my fighter jet on a couple of buildings and it didn't even have a scratch, let alone get blown up. I destroyed a tree and the branch was flipping around a million times in the air. Speaking of the air, I literally saw a land vehicle flying in the air. This game has too many bugs and glitches. Too many parts of the map have awful textures. The driving mechanics are trash.

    This game is completely unbalanced. The progression system in this game is terrible. The maps are poorly design. Lack of content. This game has less firearms than Battlefield 4 at launch, and let me remind you that the latter was $10 cheaper at launch. The greedy developers didn't even bother giving us an offline singleplayer campaign, despite charging $10 more than the previous installments of this video game franchise. You can't even dive while swimming. The customization options are pathetic. The user interface is unbearable.

    This game has no offline modes. So once the developers decide to switch off the servers, this game will end up in the trash can. Charging $70 for a game with no offline gameplay is a cash grab. And the greedy developers have the audacity to charge $70 for only half of the game. The developers were too cheap and lazy to design the other half of the game, which is the campaign.     El juego es pésimo, ya con el 5 venían en decadencia pero este juego esta muy mal hecho. Lo único rescatable es portal, y la movilidad del soldado. Los subfusiles están mas op en larga distancia que un arma de asalto. Mapas gigantes sin cobertura para dejarte regalado con los helicópteros o cualquier otro vehículo. The gameplay is inconsistent. The “specialists” are a massive fail, as is their dialogue at the end of the matches. The lack of guns and content In general is lacklustre. I could go on and on and on.     Bullet spray is VERY bad. Loadouts are bugged. I have 7 loadouts created and can't use any of them for the last 3 days. It shows no loadouts when I start a game so I get the default BS rifle with no attachments. Maps too big and empty even with 128 on 128 there are long periods of seeing no one.     Game breaking bugs. Deployment bug alone renders the game virtually useless. Loadouts disappear and you can't get them back, you have to close the game and sometimes even delete and redownload it completely in order to get ONE MATCH in before it bugs out again. This is on PS5.

    Absolutely HEINOUS miscarriage of duty by EA and Dice.

    Still, a piece of **** The number of cheaters is incredible. Tried to play a few times, can't do that. The PS5 version is super random. You can get to a good server with acceptable ping or some **** one in some **** or something.

    if you are a fan of battlefield like me that played bf1943, bf3, bf4, bf1, bfV hear me out: its impossible to play on console against PC players, i feel like a bot running around, and when you disable crossplay you dont find a match kkkkkkkk The maps are so big that the game becomes a walking simulator

    The more I play it the less I like it. Battlefield ended with BF3. This isn't fun, and it sure as hell isn't Battlefield. Chalk one up for EA killing another developer. I wouldn't want this on my resume

    Never was so disappointed, the game isn't ready to be released (considering how much time DICE had compared to cod games, it's just impermissible), the shooting is also weird (like from CoD), so the game doesn't deserve to be bought by any sane player.

When I think to Rotterdam on the last BF game, it looked so good, so much more details. But now, yeah I don`t know...stupid gameplay decisions, headless running around kids, the voice chat is not even working at release...this is a big joke. BF was once the Number 1 online teamplay game. That is the issue, when you just look on other games which seems to work and not thinking about your own strengths as a company. So this is a wild mix out of Warzone, Fortnite, some other wild shooting games where you just run around and skip teamplay. I am really angry about this game and the worst is that DICE even made it...I would have said if it was from another company "ok they tried but failed, give it back to DICE" - well this is going to be ugly in the user reviews for you. Totally incoherent as it's supposed to be a serious game where there is famine and war etc and the characters don't seem to take it seriously and their dialogue is cringe and totally out of place. I held on posting a review because I truly hoped dice would address issue the community has clearly been shouting at them since release, when you look on any of their socials they are refusing to acknowledge that anything could even be wrong with the game. Its sad because right now they are in the key moment of saying their fan base from leaving for goof and they truly do not care. They lied mutiple times, they clearly said in 2020 that the game was a ahead of schedule, the game have top tier destruction. It's such a shame but also confusing how BF5 looks and plays better than 2042.… Expand

    2042 is the biggest disappointment for me personally since i play video games. It was advertised as "ahead of schedule". It was broken at launch, 6 months after release there is NO new content. It tries to be a call of duty with hero shooter elements although the battlefield gameplay was completly fine on its own.

    The false advertising and bad managment from EA has reached an unforgivable low.

    BF3 remains the last good BF release. Since its part of the Portal mode, its also the best part of this game, together with Bad Company 2, but the bad hit detection and overall technical state even destroy this experience. And not only is this a buggy mess, also the design choices are really bad. Specialist destroy the classic BF gameplay. DON'T BUY IT.

    While the repetition and lack of content cooled my enthusiasm a bit, I am excited to see where DICE can take Battlefield 2042 from here — if current industry trends hold, I’m confident this will be a strong addition to my already-full shooter rotation after a few months of additions and updates.
