    Fulfils it's purpose as a showcase of the dual sense controller and some. Beautiful graphics, catchy music and fun gameplay. Enjoyed running around each area, finding the bots acting out different Playstation games while searching for collectibles. Very well rounded experience from start to finish.

    The only shortcoming of this game was the lack of a reference to a PSone classic, the Syphon Filter game.

    It's a shame this game was not released stand alone so it could receive the respect it deserves.. It is a _fantastic_ game - colorful, detailed and full of love. The amount of secrets is incredible! Developers outdid themself here, no question about it. No question about it, this is the most exciting, fun and technically advanced "demo" to ever accompany a machine.

    Es un gran juego que rememora todo la Historia de PlayStation, al estar incluído gratuitamente en la consola es un gran regalo para sus nuevos usuarios, ya que nos muestra las nuevas mecánicas del DualSense y el sonido 3D inmersivo, Team Asobi (JapanStudio) no deja de sorprender con cada juego creado

    A great and very good experience for my first PS5 game. This game is simply a demonstration of how PS5's DualSense works. Other than that, it's a very good platform game mixed with exploration, innovative gameplay and good summer or winter vibes. The best part of it, it's that it is free!!!

    When I got my PS5 not too long ago, I had always wanted to play this game. After about 3 and a half hours and one Platinum Trophy, I love this game for using Astro as the tech demo.

    This is one incredible freebie of a game to include with the PS5 system. Just, whatever you do, don't discount Astro's Playroom as a simple "DualSense feature demo", or you will be doing yourself a great disservice! It's a joy to play, from the moment it begins until the very end, and it will likely make you smile during the entire romp. Do yourself a favor, and give it a play!

    Astro’s Playroom is a Nintendo-esque demonstration of the insane levels of immersion and nuance that PS5 brings to the table and is just as much fun to play (if not more!) as anything with Mario in the title in years. If it was a full 10-15 hour game it would be a genuine 10/10 game all day long.

    If you’ve only just managed to lay your hands on Sony’s latest console, congratulations! Now do yourself a favour and be sure you play this generous pack-in title before before it’s too late and you suddenly realise that you’re drowning in a backlog of PS5 exclusives.    … Expand

    There are 4 worlds, 4 levels in each world, and a pretty hardcore final boss you have to find.
    It's a strong platformer with multiple levels of different game mechanics to keep things different.
    Thers a ton to explore and find, and the platforming is fun.

    I honestly wasn't expecting so much but I've been playing the game since I got my PS4 at lunchtime and it took hours to beat, trying to get all the coins, artifacts and puzzle pieces. I thought I finished everything there was until I explored the homeworld trying to find the source of the roaring, the final boss was was badass, it took me a few tries but I feel very accomplished in beating the game. The credits were very clever, and the one more thing was great. I also found the little vending machine and bought as many of the artifacts and puzzle pieces I could.

    I don't think I've ever felt so pleased with a tech demo/game that came with the console before.

    I ended up going back to it the next day to platinum it. No regrets.    … Expand

    I am a lifelong 30 something gamer who lost interest in platformer style games back in the Mario 64/ banjo kazooie era. But this game has totally sucked me in. It is just so fun to play and explore this world. So many things to see and interact with. So many fun mechanics. It is really a magical feeling to experience. It is also a love letter to PlayStation. You collect all sorts ofI am a lifelong 30 something gamer who lost interest in platformer style games back in the Mario 64/ banjo kazooie era.     It would probably be a 10 if they designed such a thing around a real storyline, but it's not a deal breaker.

    Honestamente no esperaba nada de este juego, ni lo pensaba jugar, pero wow! es muy buen juego, falla totalmente en dificultad y en duración, pero en cuanto a experiencia, diseño de niveles, jugabilidad wow! me encantó me la pase muy bien y me hizo muy feliz, en cuanto al uso del dual sense espectacular.

    Was it necessary for them to do this? No, it wasn't. But they went above and beyond in their execution. I'm genuinely impressed. Astro's Playroom is an excellent introduction to next-gen gaming.

    It’s a very short platformer that takes only 2 hours to beat, unless you revisit missions for all the collectibles. Every level takes you to a different generation of PlayStation and introduces different peripherals such as controllers, memory cards etc. Every level focuses on different aspects of the DualSense. It’s hard to describe it, but having played Astro’s Playroom, I can easily call this a game changer and good use of DualSense will be a factor (in addition to graphics and frame rates) when deciding the superior versions of video games.

    It is much more than a tech demo and you should definitely not ignore it because it’s a free game. Astro’s Playroom is Sony’s way of telling gamers “Look we have a revolutionary gaming technology. It’s now up to developers to make good use of it”.

If those developers use the features of the controller like this game, they may even make traversal fun. For example, walking in rain on brick paths in Saint Denis in Red Dead Redemption 2.

    Jogo de plataforma surpreendente principalmente por ser gratuito e com o simples proposito de apresentar os diferenciais do controle do ps5, o jogo foi feito perfeitamente, não vi praticamente nenhum bug ou defeito, só diversão, um mundo bem colorido, diferente e bonito que já apresenta o visual muito bom que o play5 consegue fazer.

    Muito divertido, inovador no controle do play5 e maneiro com as referência e celebração do play5, para ser perfeito, 10/10 faltava só ter mais mecânicas de jogo de plataforma como um Crash, Mario ou Spyro, em fim, espero que façam uma continuação realmente apostando em um jogo de plataforma com todos esses elementos que faltaram aí.

    E os Easter Eggs são sensacionais, muito bom mesmo!.

    Recomendo muito, acredito que a frase que representa ele é ser EXTREMAMENTE DIVERTIDO!

    This game blew my mind. It may just be a tech demo but it was genuinely a really fun game. I wished it didn't end, I would LOVE a full game of this. I'll definitely to back and play it again. Just wish it was longer! Not a bad moment in the game. And it looks AMAZING.

    No sólo es una excelente demo técnica de las posibilidades del DualSense sino que además es un juego divertido, muy al estilo de juegos de Nintendo, la música es de 10 y la nostalgia sobre la historia de las consolas de PlayStation. Un juego recomendable 100%

    The game itself is filled with beautifully made references to older Sony creations.

Each level is hand crafted with the most detail I have ever seen in a video game. All of them are based on each era of PlayStation's history. Memory Meadow is based on the PS1, SSD Speedway is based on the PS2, Cooling Springs is based on the PS3, and GPU jungle isI got all of the trophies. This is amazing. Astro's Playroom is astonishing.     Desde que inicias a jugar empiezan las sorpresas. Sin duda aprovecha al máximo las capacidades del DualSense. Es una aventura corta pero entretenida que lleva por un paseo lleno de nostalgia para aquellos que llevan mucho tiempo siendo fieles seguidores de PlayStation. Me hubiera gustado que fuera más largo.     GRÁFICOS:
    Bonita gama de colores, y buen diseño visual que es agradable pero no destaca por ser precisamente asombroso como sí que lo han tenido otro tipo de plataformers (Rayman Legends o Tearaway)

    Hay detalles bonitos, como que las gotas de lluvia formen los símbolos clásicos de la franquicia, que es algo que no puede dejar de mencionarse. Pero en general es un juego que no destaca por su apartado artístico.

    SONIDO:
    Tanto el soundtrack que emana del televisor, como los efectos de sonido que lo hacen del DualSense son dignos de un plataformer de culto. Piezas bien hechas, adictivas, apropiadas y divertidas.

    Y, aunque la música es buena, lo maravilloso son los efectos de sonido de cada nivel.

    INNOVACIÓN:

    After more than half a year of waiting, I was eager to get my hands on the PS5, so after plugging in the console, I immediately jumped into Astro's Playroom, which was already pre-installed. I was absolutely amazed! The new DualSense controller really surprised me. So many possible vibrations that I was just amazed. The game is something like 3 hours long and features 4 worlds that represent some of the earlier PlayStation games. Each world was something special. The levels don't repeat themselves, so you always feel like you're experiencing something new. In each of these levels you will have an experience that introduces you to the features of the new controller. You'll be doing a lot. Shake, blow, touch the touchpad and so on. I don't even want to spoil it for you. Because discovering and figuring out the controller's functions is the main point of the game. Beyond that though, there are some collectibles in the form of puzzles from PS1 to PS4. For me a cool thing, because since the game is short, at least you can extend it somehow by doing this. What I'd also praise is the graphics, which are just nice and every now and then I felt like I was in some animated movie I'm controlling. I also praise the variety of robots. I enjoyed exploring them in many different ways. Most of them have animations when you hit them. It makes the game feel more alive. To sum up. Astro's Playroom is an amazing game that perfectly demonstrates the new features of the DualSense controller. It's pretty, it's great to play and I almost forgot the music, which I found enjoyable and really nice in parts. The only minus of the game remains maybe its length, although it's a fact that I shouldn't think of it as such, but rather as such a welcome to the PS5 console. The only minus, then, is probably the lack of any story. Otherwise, for me, the best jumping game I've played in years. Only time will tell if the developers will fully exploit the potential of DualSense vibes in new games. The question is whether we even want it. A friend of mine has had a PS5 for a while now and has played a few AAA games, and he said that every now and then the haptic response was getting in the way of his gameplay and making it harder to shoot. It's hard to say then. For some, these new features will be an intensification of the experience, for others a hindrance. Fortunately, if they do, the vibration can be turned off in the console settings, so there's nothing to worry about. I don't know myself how this feature will fare in other games. With Astro's Playroom, the vibration didn't bother me in any way. On the contrary, it was key for me and deepened my gaming experience, and Sony have once again shown that they really can and have pushed the boundaries a little further.… Expand

    This game was great. It taught my friend who never plays video games how to play video games. However, when the claw machine gives you a soda can, the barcode isn’t even real. That made me really angry. Horrible game. 9/10.

Astro’s Playroom is an engaging experience, full of polished platforming fun, an excellent soundtrack, and yes, a wonderful showcase of the DualSense controller’s capabilities. And to top it off, it also offers plenty of replay value. When I first turned on my PS5, I had planned to jump right into Resident Evil Village or Final Fantasy VII Remake, but Astro’s Playroom hooked me, so the other games will have to wait while I enjoy this wonderful surprise of a game.… Expand

    This has to be the best tech demo ever. It does a great job showing off the controller and is just surprisingly so fun.

    With all around fantastic gameplay, graphics, design, and just overall fun, I’d argue that under different circumstances, this could have even been considered a game of the year contender. I never realized just how much the Sony PlayStation had influenced my life until I played this game.

    Astro’s Playroom is way more than just a technological demo. It’s probably the best way to introduce players to the new DualSense controller. And it comes free with PlayStation 5. [Issue#308]
