  • Summary: A mysterious new substance was discovered on the remote planet, Rubicon 3. As an energy source, this substance was expected to dramatically advance humanity's technological and communications capabilities. Instead, this substance caused a catastrophe that engulfed the planet and the surrounding stars in flames and storms, forming a Burning Star System.

    Almost half a century later, the same substance resurfaced on Rubicon 3, a planet now contaminated and sealed off by the catastrophe.

    The player infiltrates Rubicon as an independent mercenary and finds themselves in a struggle over the substance with the corporations and other factions.

    In ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON, players will assemble and pilot their own mech with 3D maneuverability to move freely through three dimensional fast-paced missions.

    Armored Core VI is not just fan service. It's an incredible synthesis of a respected franchise and lessons learned over ten years of game design. For longtime players of Armored Core, the new game moves the series forward in a remarkably successful way. While it's an entirely different experience, gamers coming from Dark Souls will still recognize FromSoftware's core philosophy of challenge, persistence and reward. Armored Core VI is fast-paced, brutally difficult in places and extremely satisfying to play.

It's a game that knows exactly what it is and doesn't waste a single minute getting me into the cockpit and letting me live out the fantasy of piloting a giant Mech. The story may not leave its mark, but the customization system won't leave my mind any time soon, constantly inviting me to create a new solution to the game's missions and a new way of approaching combat.

The dramatic narrative goes hand in hand with the game's missions. Visually, it could be better. However, it must be a solid title that mecha fans should play.

    As someone who had no prior exposure to Armored Core ahead of Fires of Rubicon, I am both surprised and delighted by how much I have enjoyed this game. Even when shifting to a slightly different genre, FromSoftware has once again asserted that it has a firm grasp on what it takes to make a thrilling and mechanically engaging action experience through and through. This might not be my own favorite FromSoftware game to date, but it's without a doubt worth checking out, regardless of how familiar you might be with Armored Core.

    The post-Elden Ring era was going to be difficult, that much was certain. FromSoftware's work on Armored Core 6 is bound to be compared to that of GOTY 2021, and unfortunately it pales into insignificance. At no point do you get a sense of the studio's maturity or expertise. Armored Core 6 could have been anyone's game. A messy title, not very pretty and very repetitive. A game with an archaic, old-fashioned structure that leaves no room for immersion and doesn't even seem to want to draw the player into its world. Fortunately, the gameplay is fun, the sensations are pretty good and some sequences stand out from the crowd. Not to mention the incredible customisation of our mechas, which is sure to delight fans and the big kids in all of us. But does that really justify throwing yourself into the game? I'm not sure. =

    Top tier mecha game ever. It have so fun and challenging, i know maybe it will be difficult for some people but be focused and take ur time to learn.

    If you love mechs it's good fun. If you love good games it's a bit messy. I hope patches can Help with the janky controls and awkward camera.If you love mechs it's good fun. The devs need to add a buy new kit feature without replaying the entire level. The boss will force you to change your kit in unfair ways. Also the story isn't great and it's not told well. It all needs some dlc to polish it off. An easy 7 or 8 if you love robots but even core fans might be disappointed. 6/10… Expand
