    This is a roam around and kill bad guys and do the occasional group mission game. Roaming around with some friends definitely increases the fun. I would score it higher except that they took the approach that many developers are doing these days. Release a game with a great concept.     I can't believe it has been 3 years already. This game is a blast! I can't believe all the different styles of games they fit into one. The guns are awesome, the graphics are awesome, the coop is amazing! Just a great game. Well done Massive!

    Despite there being various encounters and collectables to find in the world, there's very little to do outside of the main missions which give a sense of emptiness and lack of content to the world overall. However, the gameplay is very solid and enjoyable both alone and in a group and the missions are very well designed despite there not being enough of them.     I don't usually write reviews, but I wanted to make a point that I see no one making. No, The Division isn't gonna redefine how we play games. No it doesn't live up to the impossible hype that all triple A games face these days. But no one is talking about the fact that there is nothing on the market like the division, besides Destiny. And because The Division is based on reality, I feel like it resonates more for a hardcore gamer. The graphics are outstanding, the atmosphere is great, the gameplay is challenging and deep. And most of all, the game is a lot of fun.
    My cons are that I was hoping for a more dramatic story telling. Unfortunately, while there is some story, once again it is not a focus at all. That's disappointing to me. But again, the game is so much fun and is such a unique take as an RPG shooter that it isn't a deal breaker.
    Anyway, I just wanted to stress the fact that The Division serves a need for a great RPG Shooter that is like nothing else on the market, and in that sense, it is a resounding success    … Expand

    When I played both the closed and open betas for this game, I very much disliked this game. I didn't have fun with it at all, with or without friends, but for some reason, I gave the game another chance and bought it. In my 10+ hours of gameplay I have so far, I have had an absolute blast. I have no idea what I missed in the beta, or if there were mechanics or elements absent from the betaWhen I played both the closed and open betas for this game, I very much disliked this game. I didn't have fun with it at all, with or without friends, but for some reason, I gave the game another chance and bought it. In my 10+ hours of gameplay I have so far, I have had an absolute blast. I have no idea what I missed in the beta, or if there were mechanics or elements absent from the beta that make the game far more interesting, but something happened and I can't stop playing the game.

    The combat is fun and require legitimate strategy rather than just 'aim shoot bang u ded', and often requires coordination and communication between you and your teammates to effectively tackle an objective. On top of this, the visuals look absolutely fantastic on PS4. The snow-covered streets are an absolute blast to walk around and look at, and there's a sense of barrenness, but executed correctly, unlike games like Fallout 4.

    I'll probably update this review as I collect my thoughts for it, but for now I am going to go ahead and say this: if you've been following this game for a while and are still interested in it, it'll absolutely be worth your time and money. At times, The Division feels wonderful, when you successfully farm the Dark Zone and get plenty of loot HOWEVER at other times, you feel miserable when you find yourself constantly dying to the same bunch of rogues or to a ridiculous OP shotgunner. But once you reach level 30 the majority of the game's problems start to shine. It's unfair to say that though, as Ubisoft have released many updates in response to fans' requests, and personally I think they've done a great job. They've added new content to the Dark Zone, new weapons, new gear sets, a new score system and plenty of minor improvements.

    Any game that makes me want to come back and play it, is already a solid 7 for me. I love the environments and love how haunting the city feels. Once you get a feel for the cover system it can be pretty cool moving around from cover to cover during a fire fight, as well as timing your grenades to get the most kills out of one. In any event I despised UBISOFT for the longest time...laughed my ass off on launch day when I got the Romeo error but all in all this game turned the page for me with UBISOFT...I sitll don't trust them but I certainly don't hate them anymore...funny that a game called The Division would bring me back to play UBISOFT games.… Expand

    This game is very addictive. Fun missions and I like the cover based system for combat allowing you to sneak around some and plan your attack with flanking and pulling back if needed. To me the combat and environment are a big plus over Destiny. Honestly, I couldn't get into Destiny and didn't much like the barrage of just rushing in with guns blazing and no thought to strategy. ThisThis game is very addictive. Fun missions and I like the cover based system for combat allowing you to sneak around some and plan your attack with flanking and pulling back if needed. To me the combat and environment are a big plus over Destiny. Honestly, I couldn't get into Destiny and didn't much like the barrage of just rushing in with guns blazing and no thought to strategy. This Division, however, has sucked me in and keeps me coming back for more. I like playing all the missions on Hard level in solo mode the first time through to get the lay of the land, restock locations, and enemy patterns, and then going back a few times to team up with others. The enemies are much harder in the co-op raid, but being able to plan your attack with a team is very satisfying. Very happy to own and play this game and would highly recommend to others.… Expand

    Good game, worth buying at 25% discount. $80 CAD is too much when you take into account that there will be many other things to buy from cosmetics to expansions. I feel like the game should have sold for about $60CAD max ($45 USD).

    I have encountered a grand-total of 0 bugs. For me the launch was quite smooth.     The Division was a games that promised more than it could actually provide. There was a huge hype train for this game and many people considered it as a "modern" version of Destiny. The gameplay is is very fun for the first couple hours until it becomes very repetitive and the graphics are average and definitely way worse than the graphics we saw in all of the trailers at E3 before the game was released. The combat feels like a generic cover-based 3rd person shooter. The voice acting is not that good and sounds very dull. Even at 30fps, the game still has many frame rate drops on consoles and the open world does not feel that "natural" and feels more artificial and fake. It is pretty empty. The character customization is average but not the best. But players can still look unique among others. The game had a great idea but was put in the hands of the wrong developer which is what my opinion is. So much content is being locked out and put in 3 expansions! However, I have hope that with further updates, this game still has potential to be a great game. But for now, this game needs plenty of improvement. Thank you for reading this review! :)    … Expand

    Played through the campaign twice and put a fair amount of time into the Dark Zone and had fun.
    Ubisoft was finding their way with this one and it had its flaws.
    Enjoyed the story and the environment.

    Probably one of the hardest if not hardest third person shooter I’ve ever played…
    If you’re playing by yourself… you’re not making it to the end unless you’re a 360 no scope mlg pro..
    I am not... so I teamed up with a squad the entire way….
    But this isn’t your typical 3rd person shooter…
    There are no head shots...
    Enemies have hp rather than just being vulnerable humans... they’re armored up and bullet spongy…
    I didn’t realize the type of game this was at first so I felt frustrated, only to remind myself borderlands is the same way…
    So this is more or less a 3rd person borderlands with none of the color or humor…
    My Love for the Division slowly grew on me… and I did eventually fall in love…
    But halfway through the game, my love evaporated.
    In the division you can explore the city of Manhattan either alone or with a crew of up to 4 players, there are 19 main story missions in this game that increasingly have a higher level requirement…
    Each mission will give you roughly 1 level.. And you also gain xp from killing enemies, doing side missions, discovering new locations and finding collectibles…
    And at first this feels great...
    You’ll run down the street and run into an encounter and help whoever out and move on to the mission you were heading too…
    You gain your first 5 levels without even trying…
    Then you’re doing mission after mission... killing these insanely tough enemies… picking up their dropped weapons, finding loot and armor..
    Getting supplies to work on the different wings of your base to unlock new skills and abilities...
    Assigning these abilities to your 2 and eventually 3 ability slots…
    It’s so frustrating and so addictive at the same time…
    Coming up with strategies with your teams mates during tough sections..
    Providing health, cover, and distraction…
    This is why it’s important to play with others…
    On your own you can’t be revived… enemies do take less damage... but it isn’t worth being sent back to a checkpoint each time you die to an area of respawned enemies…
    You’re heading into the dark zone to look for contaminated but more powerful loot, killing other players to increase your dark zone level to leave with better gear
    And you’re halfway through the game..
    You’re level 13... The next missions enemies are level 16 no big deal…
    You’ve got your awesome crew... you can handle anything.
    Nope.
    You can’t play missions more than 2 levels ahead of you… and by the way... from the halfway point forward... every single mission is going to be 3 levels ahead of you
    No big deal, levels have been handing out levels…
    Surely side missions and encounters and collectibles will do the same.
    They don’t.
    XP is so insanely slow in this game and I’m convinced there’s only a leveling system here to slow the player down... to make them do the boring side stuff instead of shoot their way through these hour long main missions….
    There’s really nothing else to explain it…
    It isn’t to make you more powerful in battle…
    Fights are just as hard from the start as they are at the end... Enemies level with you…. And most of the time unless you grind with the boring stuff are even 2 plus levels ahead
    And it isn’t to unlock perks or new weapons... because you get all of this from enemies and completing main stories…
    You can replay mast missions on hard mode for better loot.. but it rewards to xp at the end which is complete nonsense…
    Level requirements for main missions kill pacing…
    and the laughably small amount of xp you get for killing enemies which by the way is the exact same you get for killing a boss is even more of a joke.
    There’s not a chance you’ll level up mid story mission…
    It’s not happening you’re gonna be just as weak in the final boss battle as you were going in…
    The combat here is extremely fun though and offers a great deal of variety in its perks, weapons, and mods to make your character feel like yours…
    I’m not sure why they smack you with a wall halfway through and force you to do the fetch quest nonsense around Manhattan
    The division takes some time to grow on you.. And once it finally does it turns into an unfun forced grind. I Give the Division an 8.0/10    … Expand

    The Division is a fun game with lots to do and collect. I find though, it is even better with friends. Its nice to play a game where your level actually matters... Take notes Bungie. The DLC's are worth it.

    After a week or so of gameplay, I like this game, it had potential to be even better though.

    It's a little repetitive, if only the designers had have used their imaginations a little more.....

    Fun game, huge map!

    Some bugs that may be fixed by now. Only major complain not enough penalties for mid-mission drop out or good replacement matchmaking. If you're playing with a random and they leave, it's tough to finish the mission. Overall good time though.

    I've put in about 30 hours to this game and so far it's really good. My only worry is that it might get a little bit repetitive. Hopefully the DLC, both free and $$ will bring something new too the table. The game needs more variety in enemies, more variety in missions and more customization options for both character and gun.     This is my un-biased review that I'll try to be clear without giving away too much.

    It is an overall solid fun game to play. It does mix elements from different games but the most notable to me is Destiny meets Borderlands with the Gears of War cover system and a dash of an apocalyptic 3rd person GTA New York setting. The decent size open map is filled with things to do from protecting    This is my un-biased review that I'll try to be clear without giving away too much.

    It is an overall solid fun game to play. It does mix elements from different games but the most notable to me is Destiny meets Borderlands with the Gears of War cover system and a dash of an apocalyptic 3rd person GTA New York setting. The decent size open map is filled with things to do from protecting A.I. agents and securing supply drops from gangs to finding details on missing personnel. I could have used more variety in mission options to be honest. The missions can get repetitive after some time but they take place in different locations of the city as opposed to other games where you can run blindly thru the same map so at least that adds something new into the mix. I've also found some missing cell phones that have recordings on them with genuine sounding convos that people have had prior to and during the breakdown of New York and I can admit some are very well scripted. The overall structure of the game is to kill, loot and repeat. This might seem like an exhausted system that has scarred us but for what the game is, it works well. If you don't mind doing the grind routine and need a change from what was supposed to be a phenomenal game changer, this is your game. No this game is not going to set the bar nor will it be the last game you play but, it is no doubt a good game. I do think that with the delays and the time it took to put out the game, there are elements that could have been not necessarily changed but, made better. The cover system can get aggravating at time especially when enemies are starting to flank you from both sides and you movements can feel delayed and not smooth. The shooting is refreshingly inaccurate meaning you don't aim down the sights and all your bullets go straight. You have to try and hit your target and from a distance, you need to try harder. I've noticed that with full auto rifles you need to feather the trigger or the gun will run up on you and with marksman rifles you cant fire off 2 shots in quick succession due to recoil. Shooting does and will require some patience to get used to and no you cannot just run and gun. This game does rely on the cover system in order to survive which you should get used to if you want to make it thru.
    Multiplayer
    For the campaign, teaming up with friends is pretty simplistic minus the friend you invite needing to click and hold a thumb stick which feels unnatural and can be confusing. This prompt can also be easily overlooked making it somewhat time consuming if you’re trying to get something going. Doing campaign together is fun though and adds a difficulty in it as now instead of enemies flanking just you, they are trying to get your partner/s and in turn they will start to focus on you if they come within range.
    Darkzone
    This is what you play the campaign to be able to accomplish. Here the rules are simple, kill or be killed. You can go at it alone or with friends and you can be taken out by one or many. You find the best items in here and to obtain them, you need to level up both in campaign and in the Darkzone. The Darkzone brings a new tier of difficulty as the enemies are tougher and if any other players decide to go Rogue, you have them to worry about. Any loot is also up for grabs to the first person who wants it. In my experience, people have been considerate and you keep what you kill but any higher tier items you can expect to fight for. Someone take your drop? Kill them and take it back. Kill them and become marked as Rogue and now you are an enemy to everyone. You have to choose your battles wisely. This area is basically a harder version of the campaign except any items have to be air lifted out for decontamination… if you can survive the wait. The biggest downfall is higher level players trolling lower level for their gear. I’ve encountered this a few times but less often then I would’ve guessed.

    Overall, I would suggest this game. It has its fun moments but it can get repetitive. The model is old and has been used more than its fair share of times but the fresh atmosphere and altered landscape of an iconic city provide a pleasant backdrop to taking on the streets. The blend of a few different games comes together quite nicely even with the few mechanical errors that take place. My biggest gripe is with the snowy Christmas setting, I feel this game should’ve come out in the Holiday season 2015 to go with the times. Maybe they can do game updates and patches to match the seasons? Time will tell but for now, I have to clean up the streets.    … Expand

    This is a great game! I am not a huge fan of Ubisoft but they really pulled this off well. As far as cover based shoots this feels very tight and well thought out.

    The gun modification system is well done and easy to understand. In most modern games, an easy modification system is a rare sight, which means all the more credit to Ubisoft.
    Navigating the map can be really fun, surprisingly. There's tons of stuff to do, such as complete encounters, do side missions, loot, etc.
    I swear to God, I spend about 30 minutes each session trying to make my character look freaking fabulous. And I have succeeded.
    There's actual challenge to the game, meaning enemies aren't made of cotton candy and objectives are fairly tough. Each level will easily take up at least 30 minutes, sometimes up to an hour.
    All the technical stuff (Graphics, controls, less glitches, etc.) is superb.
    I, personally, think the story is pretty worth it. It'll keep you fairly interested for the most part.

    The game has problems though, so it is nowhere near perfect.
    You'll see the same enemies over and over again as you make a painstaking attempt to slaughter a million clones charging at you.
    If you're a level 10, have a group of levels 9-11 and then a level 30 or so comes on, you're screwed. The level unbalance can be crazy and outright unfair at times.
    The game's so called "bosses" are no more than bullet sponge versions of normal enemies.
    This is more of a complaint for Beta players: I remember at level 6 or 7 I was gathering loot in the DZ during the Beta and kicking ass with my sweet new gear. Now, the first time I was able to extract without getting brutally massacred by two bullets from the weakest enemies was at level 10 or 11. FML.
    If you buy the Gold Edition, the sawed off shotgun you get will only last up to about level 12 or 13, 15 if you're lucky (WHATEVER YOU DO, THOUGH, DON'T GET RID OF IT. EVER. IT WILL SAVE YOUR SORRY ASS WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT IT). The outfits for GD are sweet, though.

    this game has really big potential but i feel like the glitches and hackers made the game really really hard to enjoy lately. it has nice visuals, it performs well and the gameplay is fantastic. played it for over 250hours but lately stopped. i just cant find anything to do anymore lol

    Played nearly three days worth of this game and I'm still enjoying it. There are a lot of fun things to do in this game. The graphics are beautiful, combat is fun and makes you think very strategically rather than running straight into a firefight. The options to switch out roles from Healer, Crowd Control, Tank, and DPS on the fly makes every mission engaging and exciting. Crafting inPlayed nearly three days worth of this game and I'm still enjoying it. There are a lot of fun things to do in this game.     I will say this is an RPG first Shooter second game. If you don't like RPGs or are expecting this to be a CoD game then you will want to rethink buying this game.

    There are a number of bugs in this game, but that is to be expected at launch. Ubi/Massive are listening to fan feedback and making regular updates/patches/fixes. As long as this continues I'm sure most if not all the bugs will be addressed and not hold this game back.

    If you like RPG Shooter Looters (Bordlerands Series, Destiny, etc) then you will enjoy this game.    … Expand

    Been playing this game all week, and after playing the beta I am surprised that I am having this much fun. The story is not going to win any awards, but it is not bad at all and it's actually something that could happen. The atmosphere is great, and the graphics are realistic and help immerse you into the world.     About 17~ hours in now and I'm very happy with the game. The graphics are great and the quarantined New York is surprisingly detailed. Good variety of weapons and armor. Gun and clothing customization is right where it needs to be with plenty of options to tailor your build. Being able to swap active skills at any time is very useful, especially when playing co-op. Matchmaking with strangers or friends is pretty painless. The missions themselves take you to a variety of settings within the city and have all kinds of different objectives, but mostly boil down to shooting lots of enemies and a boss at the end. Rewards and drops all fair and there are plenty of vendors to visit always with different items for sale, so you'll always find something better to equip.

    A few people have complained about griefing, but you should expect that a little in the PVP area. The whole thing about a player standing in the safehouse doorway and preventing progress is not a real problem. The only time it can happen is during the tutorial. While it is annoying, it's rare and should not impact your view of the game. The servers have handled everything well now that the initial heavy traffic at release has normalized.    … Expand

    There's something about the atmosphere. I got into a gun fight during sun down and after it was over I realized it turned to night. Standing there in the middle of downtown, looking up at the buildings and the sky, its snowing and its quiet. It's something the game does right. I love the atmosphere.

    This is a game that I can't stop playing. It is a great fun to play the story missions with other players through the excellent matchmaking system. There allows great cooperation with various skills and weapons offered.
    The graphics are decent. However, it seems there's nothing interesting to do besides shooting at bad guys. Finding a missing person is boring to me.

It takes about 15 bullets at minimum to down a bad guy. They even survive head shots! But other than that this is the best modern military game I have played; it's far better than Call of Duty and Battlefield. After a few missions at the beginning of the game (which serves as a tutorial) the story was turned on it's head and the atmosphere took a more bleak path. At this point I knew I made a good choice when purchasing this game. The Division is in no way a flawless game or Game of the Year material, but it's a well thought experience and I'm having a blast playing it. Does it do what an MMORPG should do? Yes. Is it fun? Yes. Will I continue to play after the end game credits role? Yes. One thing I look for in games, which I'm sure most people do, is immersion. I feel completely immersed in this game and I love the amount of attention to detail I see whilst roaming the streets of NYC. I'll see a rat and a bird fighting, people trying to get into and steal from cars, people shouting out of their apartment windows, unfortunate civilians dying and much, much more. Another thing I'd like to draw attention to is the soundtrack. I LOVE the soundtrack to this game. It's very reminiscent of "Drive", "Heat" and "Only God Forgives", and fits the game perfectly. I don't feel this game deserves the scores south of 7/10 and I also think the game may be getting these bad scores due to it being an Ubisoft game, who are famous for Watch_Dogs and the multiple disappointing Assassins Creed games. I picked this game up for just £50 (limited edition version) and Battlefront cost me £60 on release. So for £10 less I've got a AAA game with more content. If you're a fan of RPGS, shooters and dare I say it, Destiny, then this is the game for you.… Expand

    I was worried about this game after Watch Dogs but was pleasantly surprised by how good it is. The game looks great, plays even better. It's not perfect, some missions can get repetitive, but the good outweighs the bad. This is fun solo, but really shines when you play with friends.

I also had one disconnect (hour 1/2) which seemed to be quite common across the community, since then (hour 2+) I've yet to be disconnected at all. Another slight niggle and although it isn't    I've now put in 30 hours into this game and so far I'm really liking it.

To generate 1 blue item (if you haven't already collected) you can use 5 greens which is fine until you have 250 to turn into 25 and have to sit there doing each one. It is also a shallow game as far as story is concerned, the fact is it' isn't that type of game, you will be putting a lot of hours into "the grind" and replaying missions; this is not a linear story. NPC's can also be a little annoying, mostly in dialogue, whilst wondering around the home base expect to hear the same line about 10 times before you leave.

    One odd choice which seems to be in the game for no good reason is the second character, with one character you can and will unlock all abilities meaning to create a second character would only serve one purpose to play with mates who are lower level which you can still do with a higher level, albeit easily.

    I've seen a lot of reviews and people talking about the enemies being bullet sponges and yes, they are but you are playing an MMORPG, other games such as Destiny etc can mask that with the fact they're aliens which The Division cannot, it's trying to combine a realistic scenario with MMORPG gameplay and you have to step back and appreciate that.

    After 30 hours I'm more than happy with the game and the daily missions are a nice touch, allowing me to continue with the game and feel like there's still something worth playing for and with the introduction of DLC over the next three months (free and paid) I'm looking forward to seeing what that has to offer as well. Matchmaking is a plus too, when you need to grab another three people for a mission on hard (and you will need to) the matchmaking seems to work quite well in finding other players for you to game with. The map is absolutely massive, thankfully fast travel is there to help facilitate that but if you did decided to walk it the scale and way everything seamlessly allows you to pass through zone to zone is amazing.

    Overall it's not quite there yet but there's a solid base to build upon.    … Expand

    I played about 6hrs yesterday after work (alone without friends or random ppl ) and i love it.the character editor was a bit disappointing with only a few costumization options but ok thats no big deal.
    The map is huge and filled with many many side quests and random encounters, you can take over enemy bases, gather supplies for the poor ppl that are left in manhattan or collect resources for your base that u can upgrade.
    The weapon customization is great and there a many different guns to find,buy or extract from darkzone.
    The story so far is nice and im looking forward to many hours of fun with this title.
    There a still a few bugs, nothing game breaking but still, if it gets polished a bit it will get 9/10.
    I had no issues with the servers in my playtime, and for that crybabys that cring about you have to be online the whole time.... dont play a dang mmorpg then you goofys..    … Expand

    If you like games that you need to increase your level and facilities to beat better enemies, progress your character, and so on, this is yours. It will take some time to max out all the facilities.

As it is, Running around instantly joining up with another player or a group of "Agents" is really fun. Unlike the past few years with only 1st person shooters this game is refreshing.     It feels like a Mass Effect 2 and Destiny hybrid. While it is far from perfect with bugs etc..., the game is enjoyable and the Dark Zone is a welcome mechanic that made my heart race with the high stakes of the extracting higher quality loot.

    Fantastic Door Closing Simulator with Guns!

    Updated from my previous review. After many router issues - finally got this game working. (UbiSupport still hasn't responded. So, side note that.) The game is a Team-Based Rainbow 6 Cover RPG.     The game is a Team-Based Rainbow 6 Cover RPG. It's all about finding gear, building up your stats and skills, finding new gear, staying behind a wall while unloading on enemies, and joking around about it with friends.

    Multiple avenues in each mission for tactics. Spoken dialogue paints the scene and provides insight. Each mission is more or less a arena mode while waiting for waves of enemies to rush you - so if that's your thing more power to you. (I personally enjoy it.)

    The "Open World" and "MMO" portions of the game are totally bland. Never see other teams or people wandering around (unless you're in the PvEvP areas.) NPC dialogue is recycled - a lot. Tons of collectibles all over the place (because Ubisoft games LOVE collectibles and radio towers.)

    And you can shut car doors. Cause when the world goes to hell, everyone leaves their door slightly ajar.    … Expand

    Loving it so far. Coop is really fun and the weapon customization is amazing. Havent played enough missions to talk about variety...but is a great 3 person shooter. Grafics are great. Dont really get all the destiny comparisons. Different games! Well... having fun! bye

    Haters gonna hate! Wonderful gameplay, some problems but nothing that influence on the fun, superficial story but the coop pays off, this is a game to play in a group, those who like diablo and Gears of War that's the game!

    I find this game a lot of fun.Really great fun with co-op with your freinds and graphics are absolutly amazing.An Amazing game with great amount of missions.

    It's an excellent game.I recommend it.

    My first game review ever! (Yes I'm an adult). This game is a blast to play, especially teaming up in the dark zone. I was initially hesitant to buy this game but I'm glad I did. Even though it can be repetitive it doesn't feel like as such because of the increasing difficulty of the enemies and the constant loot. I played the dark zone yesterday teaming up with a random individual. IMy first game review ever! (Yes I'm an adult). This game is a blast to play, especially teaming up in the dark zone. It isn't a perfect game but I see myself continuing with it and look forward to seeing what download content will be available. Some have also made reference to destiny while comparing this game. It's not the same at all. I did not like destiny and it made me not want to ever pre order a game without seeing some kind of reviews first.

    This is a solid 8.5 for me. Grab a friend or two, or make some new ones on line and experience the DZ. You'll be glad you did.    … Expand

    If you are wanting a shooter with Deep RPG elements, beautiful graphics, and an amazing loot system, this is the game for you. While the story gets thin at times, there is still plenty of other things that keep your mind entertained. Getting lost in New York is actually quite amazing...going down abandoned and dark alleyways finding loot sitting in corners keeps me coming back for more.If you are wanting a shooter with Deep RPG elements, beautiful graphics, and an amazing loot system, this is the game for you. While the story gets thin at times, there is still plenty of other things that keep your mind entertained. Getting lost in New York is actually quite amazing...going down abandoned and dark alleyways finding loot sitting in corners keeps me coming back for more. Playing with friends is really where it's at. You can play solo but man, getting a team together and using each others characters strengths is what makes it rewarding. The Dark Zone is the best part of the game. A mixture of PvE and PvP make this a challenging and quite satisfying by getting a decent chance at scoring greater gear and weapons. Some downsides are that most of the side missions and side quests are very similar and repetitive. Your character does not actually say one word the entire game..which was quite disappointing for people who love to invest into characters. Another downside is there is no trading system. It would have been nice to be able to help friends if they are needing that extra piece of gear to help them get to that next step. All in all, this is Ubisoft's best Shooter period.… Expand

    My experience in the division so far has been fun and addicting. Im 23 hours into the game and not even close to finishing. The graphics are beautiful, the loot glorious, and the player to player interaction engaging. The only problem i have is slight mission repetition on side mission but other than this its worth every penny.

    This game is by far the best open world Ubisoft has created, the story is average.     All in all, this game is what you make it. The complaints about the end game being dull are understandable, but there is plenty of challenge left at that point. This game to many will seem like a different or improved version of Destiny.

    Tom Clancy's The Division is a brilliant REALISTIC game, with online players and offline bots to fight when not in the RED ZONE, the red zone is where there are online players to face and level up.

    All about combat and upgrading your weapons and staying alive in the city.

There is a very large variety in weapons, from submachine guns to assault rifles, to shotguns, to marksman rifles, etc. The weapon modification system isThis game was good! The main missions are very fun, because of the gameplay and structure of the mission. As an RPG, I expected a better character creator at the beginning, I was let down though. It's not a huge deal but it should've been better. A lot of people compare The Division to Destiny. I'm going to do that in the sense that, at launch, The Division is good, just like Destiny was good at launch. But overtime, with more updates and stuff of the sort, I think The Division can become amazing, just like Destiny is now.… Expand

    You assume the role of an agent of the secret organization The Division . The customization of very bad character , making you put a character that has any there.
    The feedback of the story is good, but does not develop .
    The gameplay is good , but the aim is heavy and with little accuracy. Physical is good to a certain extent . HP 's character and enimies are based on Level .

    I'm as confused writing this review as I was reading reviews of it; the best way I can describe this game is to say that it's sort of like being a kid and knowing you're allergic to something, but you love the way it tastes, so you eat it anyway knowing it'll make you sick. The game is not fun. Lots of time spent running. After about level five average enemies take about 6 headshots to kill, let alone "elite" enemies. Loot drops are unpredictable and useless. The leveling up and base improvement systems appear to give you lots of freedom, but ultimately you just unlock everything and choose between three special powers. Story missions can take up to an hour and may devolve into you waiting in cover with your cursor in one place, waiting for the enemy to pop up, shooting him, taking enough bullets to almost kill you, and retreating to heal. God help you if you join up with another player who is a dumbass and keeps getting himself killed, because once he dies, the game will leave you alone and stick you with multiplayer enhanced difficulty. Auxiliary missions, required to upgrade your base, are painfully repetitive and unrewarding. The character attributes aren't well explained, so item equipping is sometimes a total crapshoot. The PvP aspects of the "dark zone" are a total mess but are capable of providing some fun.

    Perhaps most irritating is the game's online requirement. You encounter chilling moments where you shoot enemies endlessly and their health does not go down, they will stand still as you move around, and you suddenly realize you're in the middle of a lag. When the game finally comes through, anything could have happened. That is, if the game doesn't just crash and send you back to login.

    Despite all of these complaints, you will keep going back to the Division. Something about a shooter RPG with MMO elements will tickle your gamer scrot and you will want to play. I hope you have a good internet connection.    … Expand

If you like games like Destiny, you will like also The Division. This game have only one issue with raids. You can wait hours to join a good party, where raid is not started, otherwide you will not be able to join the fight.     The game as an interesting ambiance, beautiful too. The game play is good, fluid and simple. I did not understand the story, the form of development of the missions are strange too, the need of multiplayer is an obstacle that can be boring sometimes.

However, the story was very short, and could have been better, and I wound up finding myself short of things to do after a while.     One of my favorite games. Great replay value with people online. Lots of unique gaming modes as well. This game is frustrating though, but it is rewarding as well.

    This game is meant to play with others online. If playing solo then you probably will not make it far enough to appreciate the game.

Well here's something I thought I'd never see happen an online only game that I actually like and the sole reason for this is because it is a story driven game yes it has the multiplayer part of the game with the Dark Zone part of the map but I have no interest in ever going on that mode of the game.

    So with that with that being said the story of the game is set in New York which is on lockdown due to a pandemic that someone has caused gangs run rampant in the city and it's to division agents to find out what happened and take back the city from the gangs.

    The graphics of the game is really impressive the look of the city that is in ruins to me was the best part about the graphics of the game the combat physics of the game can be a bit annoying at times but once you've mastered it the game becomes easy to play the amount places to explore and the guns to customize another key point to this game as you character experience level rises so does the enemies which means you have to find items or guns to sell in order to get better guns to match the experience level you are on the map of the game itself is massive as it should be because it set in a actual city after all.

    The minor issues I have with the game is you have to be online to play it even if you have to no intentions of playing the multiplayer part of the game and at times the side missions can be the same ones over and over again but there is enough missions to do on there to keep you playing till the end.

    Overall I enjoyed playing this game this might be the only online game series I'd enjoy playing because it has a story driven campaign to it and does not force you to play the multiplayer part of the game and that to me is makes this game worth playing.    … Expand

The boss had goons alongside him, and the fight escalated quickly with me retreating often. As a matter of fact, I was pushed all the way to the entrance to the rooftop where this fight took place. Needless to say I died a lot. Most of this game is pretty balanced, but occasionally you will find yourself overwhelmed. The game will show no mercy at times hitting you with unbeatable amounts of strong enemies, and nowhere to take cover. Over all the game has had many ups with only a handful of downs, but when it hits you with the downs it will hit you hard. Overall I am having fun with this game, and I will do another review once I have reached max level. If you can get this game on sale I would highly recommend it. Until then good luck, and try not to die too much.… Expand

    Because there aren't many things to think of while playing this game, this game is pretty fun and relaxing, the story is the main thing you gonna play, other game modes aren't as fun as the story because after a while, it starts to be too repetitive and you will find it boring pretty quickly.
    There are some things I would improve in this game, like "be always online even if you just playing the story mode" and one thing I find it really annoying is the slow texture loading, some parts of the city textures takes really some time to load even if you have a PS4 Pro, and also some issues with imput lag, to be precise there are some occasions when the game needs more time to load or process something, and this reflects on the imput lag. You give the order to move the character wherever or to take cover, whatever you do, but the game shows that order like 2 or 3 seconds later, those problems aren't that frequent but if you find yourself in a occasion of shooting someone or anything important, this issue with problems of loading the game and imput lag, can and will be really annoying.
    All in all, it is a great game, you will probably spend maybe around 80 hours or more, the game is fun and relaxing, even though the gameplay after the main story is pretty repetitive, there aren't any frame drops or bugs while playing, but it has some loading issues, but I mentioned the problem earlier in this review.    … Expand

All this colour coded number crunching is becoming a chore and I need to stop wandering aimlessly in the Dark Zone trying to get and get back on track with the campaign with main side missions before I get fed up with the build altogether.     Better than Destiny. It can also be repetitive like that game, but I think this one does the open world online shooting thing a lot better. The graphics are also some of the best I've seen. I wish there was an offline solo campaign.

    After a full 2 day live stream I've gotten pretty far in the game. At first I agreed with the comments about this game being repetitive and would have given it a 5 out of 10 but this is definitely one of those games where it gets better much later into the game.
    As you uncover more of the story you start fighting against tougher enemies and the objectives    (I'd say it's a 7.5 out of 10)

    As you uncover more of the story you start fighting against tougher enemies and the objectives start to change a bit. It still suffers from the majority of the missions being similar but I will say the game is a lot of fun once you've settled in.

    Story as you expect from Tom Clancy games is pretty good. The shooting controls feel just fine for a 3rd person shooter, with the option of going 1st person using scopes. You can mod weapons, collect gear, change your appearance and build up your skills.

    Matchmaking makes the game a lot of fun, and I recommend putting it on harder difficulty settings cause it's too easy on normal. The map isn't too big but it's big enough. But you should know this is the very definition of a cover shooter. You even have abilities that let you create cover. Taking a lot of hits will kill you very fast, but if you use cover and use your abilities optimally you won't encounter too much difficulty.

    All in all it's a fun game to play with some friends... but I would recommend maybe waiting for it to go on sale or wait till they add more content. It isn't breaking new ground but it's not completely unoriginal. It's good, not great but good.

    Ubisoft's reputation for repetition will only get worse thanks to this game. It sucks cause their games are visually impressive and they're well designed too. I just wish they would put a little more creativity into the objectives.    … Expand

The game looks fantastic its depiction of New York i think is the best i have ever seen in a video game and it does have me eagerly searching for the next best bit of loot and has been making me come back to the game again and again which is always good.

    Now onto a slightly less good bit the bullet sponges for enemy's is quite frustrating especially when you come up against enemies wearing armor and even worse when you come up against a pair of armored enemies. think i used around 1000 rounds to take down just one.

    One bit of advise for tougher enemies make them fight on your terms keep movement levels high and drag the enemies all over the local area set traps for them with turrets and grenades and eventually you will wear down their armor and be able to take them down.    … Expand

    The story is....forget the story, lets head out there make a party and kill some outlaw gang out there. lvl up quick and wait for DLC.

    It's like destiny but more entertaining altou the mission are like copy paste and the enemy looks the same(but slighty stronger each time).     The Division taught me a very valuable lesson about gaming; a game that has a definitive end (like a song, a movie, or a book) will leave me wanting more and reflecting with happy memories of a great experience. But a life-sucking POS like The Division or Destiny eventually wither into resentment.

    In the first hours I just loved it, but after 30 hours, I have to say that it is really repetitive. The secondary missions are always the same. Even the main missions are just about shooting enemies (and those are always the same ones), nothing else.

    Unfortunately, despite the fact that they're beautiful, the guns all feel the same.
    The gunfights are still very satisfying though.

    Let's talk about the multiplayer section, The Darkzone. Again, it's a good concept but after a few fun hours you understand there's nothing to do in it.
    But, do no forget that you can play the whole game in coop.

    So to resume, the game has potential, but needs more content to become a real must-have.

The level design and attention to detail is awesome as usual, I'm sure New York-ers were having a hard time not loving this game just for that. The leveling up and slight upgrading system being used in almost all of Ubi's games is getting SO TIRED.     Talking about the graphics, the game looks pretty good, it's not that gorgeus game you saw back in E3 with those spectacular physics, but even so it looks good. I won't say it's a Witcher 3, but for me it fits a good looking game category. The soundtrack is not bad, it has its moments, but is not something remarkable.

    As for the game itself, the gameplay is exactly what I expected, a combat cover system with RPG elements, people will feel akward puting an entire magazine of an assault rifle on the head of a human and not killing him, but given the kind of game it is, is what you get. I bet you that that is what most headaches has given Ubisoft.

    The main campaign has 26 missions with a not very engaging story, you just don't feel in the skin of your character, as happened with Destiny. This doesn't mean the game is over when you finish the campaign, there are many things to do: Collectibles, side quests, explore the DZ, etc. All this can be done in teams or alone. And that is one of the most positive things I've found, the matching system and team search, you can choose what you want to do (missions, DZ, exploration, etc) and it will automatically group you with people looking to do the same things as you, so if you don't have a guild you can always find someone to play with, well done there Ubisoft.

    Regarding the PvP, I will miss the competitive game lists Destiny has, but I'll get over it with Overwatch, Paragon and others realesing this year. This PvP is focused more on a survival, strategic teamplay complementing roles. In the DZ you are in tension at all times, but when you see approaching a team of 4 people and you stay 4vs4 aiming at eachother in complete silence... I believe I haven't experienced that tension ever in any other game and that's what I wanted here.

    I found a few bugs to date, which in my opinion are serious because they lead to an appcrash where the game blows up or you get thrown back the start menu. My friends have also found several bugs, but this is Ubisoft we're talking about, for the so low standard that I have about their latest games (looking two years back from now) I think it's ok, which is sad, we should demand the best, but this is what the industry has become. I still remember whole groups of NPCs falling from the sky in Assassins Creed Unity... Eventually it will stabilize and they'll fix it with patches, not to worry, it's a nuisance, yes, but you can still play the game.

    There is something that many of my fellow Clan members have told me, they are concerned about the time the game while be "alive", they don't believe (and I don't think it either) it will last as long as Destiny in which we've been together for over two years but has finally bottomed out for us since there hasn't been any new content for over half a year ago. The Division brings free DLCs, which is really appreciated by my wallet, and a season pass that will cover the needs of content for 2016. But 2017, with the large number of multiplayer titles that will come out this year and the next one, will be a difficult year to keep the game up, we'll see how Ubisoft surprises us or if they leave us in the lurch.

    At the moment I will continue enjoying the game with my friends, because it is what it is, a game that greatly improves playing in the company. Bye!    … Expand

    Well, let me go and play destiny again...The division just feels so bland if you already played Destiny. It is not bad, it just lacks excitement and awe. It is, however, still fun if you play it with your friends, however, there are better alternatives out there. Rather spend your money on Destiny or Overwatch. I think even Warframe is a better experience.

    It builds a strong foundation on the gameplay front, offering up rewarding combat and simple skills, but doesn’t follow that with anything substantial, being content to let the standard end game grind and excellent-yet-stressful PVP try to cover all the questions its writing leaves you with.
