This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us Part II Review - Martin A.

The Last of US is a cautionary tale of what would you give up to save 1 person.
In this case, the world is infected. The only person you love has to die to produce
a vaccine to cure the world. While the 1st game is a tale of love, the sequel is the
    payment that is required.

Joel has sacrificed the world to spend more time with his makeshift daughter Ellie.
The lie that saved Ellie is the same lie that cost Joel his life. Abby is the
daughter of the doctor who was killed by Joel. Now Abby is fatherless and a payment
    is needed.

Right from the start of the game. The story constantly asks the question; Is it all
worth it? From the 1st part of the game, it constantly poses "What if it doesn't
work?" What if the sacrifice goes in vain? I believe that if Joel had time to say
goodbye to Ellie. Ellie would have refused the operation. Which is why Marlene
    rushed the procedure.

Joel didn't get the chance to confess his love. That was the one thing he couldn't
say but found a way to express it through travel and bond. That is why the game at
the end does not give you a choice to not kill the doctor and at the time, my self,
have even said "I would have killed him too for Ellie."

I have always said "What's the point of a cure if the world is broken? What good
would that do? I would rather save Ellie." I've reasoned with my self to save her.
Now, I'm seeing my own reflection right back. My own agreed decision with others
and how ugly it is. The infection only got worse...

It is very clear that Ellie did not feel the same way about Joel when revealed what
Joel had done. It was only later on after "squandered" years of Ellie not talking to
Joel that it was too late. She loved him as a father figure. She needed time to realize
she had been saved out of love instead of the her fantasy of being the savior of the world.

Ellie was not given the chance to forgive Joel which sets her off on her journey for
blood but every step of the way she is 1 or 2 minutes behind. I was also expecting
Abby to be somewhat of a monster. Instead, she was surviving like Joel. She was looking
after kids. As Joel, she also developed a mother figure with Lev, a young boy similar in
age from Ellie the 1st time around.

Abby and Ellie are two sides of the same coin. Abby is a Joel. Strong, older and looking
for love. I have no doubt that Ellie and Abby in another world that we call normal, would
have been friends. The proof at the end when Abby is done fighting and simply just wants
to save Lev at the cross. To be honest, I was expecting a boss fight. Instead I got a
pity fight. No, not Abby, Ellie. Even at Abby's weakest, she still gave Ellie a fight and
    almost won.

Ellie realizing that her win would only be in vain. Me in tears, seeing what shed had become.
I only wanted to save her, was this better? Was this worth it? At what cost? Ellie returns
home only to find out that she has lost everything if not, everyone. Ellie has become the
worst of Joel. Is she even Ellie anymore to me?
Looking back, I never questioned if killing the doctor was ever wrong. I don't think ever regretted it either. Now, I understand why Abby and her gang hated him. He killed him and screwed the world. I think back to what Marlene said right before the surgery "And what if this was Abby? -If this was your daughter, what would you do?". The person I was rooting for was a monster all along... The story forces us to walk with ghosts. We see only their love and perception. This game has managed to enraged most people who have played it and I hope they all come around to what I've realized. The unfortunate consequences of every decision. I understand why it's called Part II and not The Last of Us 2. This is not a continuation of the miss adventures of Ellie and Joel. It's another world. In this world, Ellie exists and she is not untouchable. If only we all could have let her be special; she would have lived longer in name. A fallen savior, left alone with no purpose; was our choice at the end. This game, like it's prequal before, is a master piece. It doesn't hold your hand and expect you to expect what everyone wanted. Instead, it asks us. What have we've all done? The Last of Us Part II Gets my 2nd ever 10 out of 10. A brilliant story, game play, design, and amazing cast of characters. This game is a must play for those who even are remotely interested. When asked if a sequel would be made on The Last of Us. Neil Druckmann - "Only if the fans really want it." Thank you for reading my review. I hope you all have a safe journey.

The Last of Us Part II has been the most anticipated game of the generation by PlayStation 4 users. And one thing is for sure, it is a title that has not left, nor will it leave anyone indifferent. As I mentioned at the beginning, it is not an easy game to review.

That makes me very self-conscious when doing an analysis without spoiling. For this reason, I recommend reading, after the game is over, my review with spoilers to understand my point of view about this game.

As in the first installment, despite being excellent in the audiovisual section, none of its elements represent a revolution or the discovery of gunpowder. Only the story, specifically the way it is told and developed, deserves a separate mention.

Similarly, what makes it special is the harmonious conjunction of a series of symphonic elements executed with exquisite perfection.

The Last of us Part II is a cruel and uncomfortable journey full of mixed feelings. It was not the sequel that maybe we expected. But it is the sequel we needed.

It is an essential title for lovers of the genre and for those seeking courage and something different in the way of posing and developing a narrative. It is a cruel, crude, wild game and, above all, complex in existential terms.

    It is simply a MASTERPIECE.

    (ESP)

The Last of us Parte II es un cruel e incómodo viaje lleno de sentimientos encontrados.

A lotta people have a problem with Abby, saying she's a sh*t character, so I'll address just that.
What makes her a good character is the fact that she tries to seek closure for the death of her father through having compassion for the scars, who were once her enemies, Abby continued to have nightmares until the point where she decided to go back for the scars(Lev and Yara).
It was at this point where she stopped having nightmares, and had one dream where she saw her father being happy.
This correlates to the closure Ellie had in relation to Joel's death by showing mercy to Abby, seeing a happy, healthy Joel sitting down. Abby being good to the scars and helping them, especially at the end when she was carrying Lev to the boat correlates to the previous game where Joel was carrying Ellie out of the hospital, where they were about to kill her for the cure. Ellie giving Lev and Abby a chance to live was just a way of naughty dog showing us that the legacy of Joel and Ellie in some way is mirrored through Abby and Lev. So imo think Abby was a very important character and helped us to see the bigger picture.
Most people just can't get over the fact that Joel died. Hence slander the story without giving it a very very very in depth look. Tlou1 is a story with happiness on the surface with grief, sadness and a lot of questions underneath While,
Tlou 2 is a story with misery on the surface but peace, redemption and freedom underneath. Please look at the story with a different lens, not just with the "why did they kill Joel" lens
People just wanted revenge, but TLOU2 is more than that. It teaches the player that peace can be found, and forgiveness is tho only way through which one can find peace.
Ellie was going through PTSD, so was Abby.
It was only through forgiveness that both of them were able to at least find the door that leads to their peace.
There's no objectively good or bad guy in the game, but everyone in the game, at some point does good or bad things and the story writing in this game exhibited that perfectly!
Looking at things critically, Joel wasn't a 'good' person.
He was a selfish man, who killed an innocent doctor who could have found the cure to a disease.
Joel's actions basically rippled through and led to everything happening in TLOU 2 Joel tried to seek closure for her daughter's death through Ellie, and through that, ended up making selfish decisions which in Ellie's own words, prevented her life from meaning something.

TLOU 2 took a very ambitious and bold step that you rarely or never find in gaming. Naughty didn't want a cliche where Joel died in the arms of Ellie while saying his last, well coordinated words.
Naughty dog made the game unpredictable.

And this is why you should actually play TLOU2.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us: Part II is a good game and while I don't think it's as bad as people say, I don't think it's as good as critics made it out to be either. It is a much weaker game than the original. While there are 10/10 aspects of this game for sure, there were a few aspects that didn't really work for me.

    The great:
    Graphics - 10/10 (Pretty self-explanatory)
Gameplay - 10/10 (While gameplay might seem outdated to some, I thoroughly enjoyed it)
Level Design - 10/10 (Levels so large with multiple paths to evade/escape enemies
Acting - 10/10 (Ashley, Laura, Troy and others fantastic, as expected.
Nostalgic Flashback Sequences between Ellie and Joel - 10/10

    The good:
I do like the story to this game and I like what the writers were going for however, I think with a stronger writer this game could have been amazing. I did like a lot of characters (Ellie, Joel, Lev, Yara, Dina, Jessie, Tommy, Owen and even Abby.

    The not-so good:
I don't have a problem with Joel dying the way he did, he was never a good guy and it makes sense that former fireflies would be seeking revenge for what he did at the end of the first game. However, I do have a problem when his death is not set-up properly. Joel and Tommy walking into a room full of armed strangers seemed out of place and contrived if I'm honest. There was just barely any suspense leading up to his death.
I think Seattle Day 1 for both Ellie and Abby could've been shortened down at least half, as this really affects the pacing (However, Seattle Day 2 definitely improved this, in my opinion).
i also don't understand why Joel is seen by everyone as the only villain in this game either. I wish the game demonstrated how both Joel and the Fireflies were both villains, as neither of them asked Ellie's permission as to what she would like to have done.
Mel was an awful character and I had no problem seeing her get stabbed in the neck by Ellie. I thought she was so stupid to go out on a combat mission whilst pregnant.
I liked Dina, Jessie, Lev etc. but I wish they were fleshed out more so I could care about them even more. That being said, all performances in this game were fantastic.
The Santa Barbara section was also too long, especially when I thought the game was coming to an end. Speaking of that section, I had no problem with Ellie sparing Abby at the end, it just didn't make sense considering the 1000s of NPCs she killed before then, whilst showing no remorse for any of them.

    Overall:
As a huge fan of the original, I did enjoy this, and it is a very fun game to play. However, I feel that the writers, Neil Druckmann and Halley Gross, had good ideas but they needed a stronger writer overall. I would recommend this if you can get it at a sale price. Considering how divisive the game is, I can't be sure if you will enjoy it or not.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us Part 2 is a story that attempts to say many things, yet ultimately fails to cohesively convey everything it wishes to say. There are elements that feel forced, and there are some unlikable and often forgettable characters. The game will make you feel uncomfortably powerful and powerless.
Before I begin on the story, let me first say whatever positives I have regarding this game. Those can be broken down into three categories. Gameplay, visuals, and accessibility. After this, I will talk regarding story.

    Visuals
TLOU2 is perhaps one of the most photorealistic games in recent memory. I had just come off of playing Death Stranding prior to playing this game. The beautiful yet horrifying and occasionally grotesque set pieces within this title were clearly crafted with love. Naughty Dog has taken the world that they originally conveyed on PS3 and utilized the technology of the modern age to create vivid imagery. I myself love when a pretty game comes out that shows what hardware can truly push. The Last of Us has a uniquely apocalyptic while still grounded art design and it is beautifully showcased. Seattle is the main set piece and the depressing, overcast, and dreary atmosphere permeate this game perfectly. The characters we see are often detailed down to pores. The environments feel simultaneously dead and alive as if they were made to fill the player with dread while still having their own beauty. The infected areas made my skin crawl with their dusty, overgrown, and eerie design. Additionally, the glass breaking mechanics were a small detail that was overexploited by myself for simple satisfaction. Areas to climb, walk through, or squeeze through were made obvious, in a way where it was mentally recognizable without having necessary visual indication. Overall, the visuals Naughty Dog within TLOU2 were top tier.

    Gameplay
The gameplay of TLOU2 was in classic Naughty Dog fashion to their previous games. This time however, many of these mechanics felt refined, more responsive, and were fun to use. The key word here is "felt". These mechanics felt familiar to their predecessors, but somehow also felt like they were somewhat snappier, had a little less delay once input, and all movement felt smoother. Naughty Dog has a realistic approach to actions made by the characters as well. Unlike popular action games such as Call of Duty, you cannot simply make 5 actions happen in a split second. This allows players to take a slower and more methodical approach to combat within these games. I would be remised if I did not talk about infected encounters as well. These encounters feel more weighty in this game with the new dodge mechanic. This dodge mechanic adds a new level of savagery to the combat and, more specifically, to the enemies. The infected feel heavier and more ferocious with the player having to be less careless and pay more attention to everything the opponent does. It turns melee combat into more of a dance. Finally, the puzzle mechanics such as power, ropes, and safes are all powerful but sometimes tedious. In summary, the gameplay of TLOU2 feels tighter, more deadly, and consequential, which are all powerful in a game like this.

    Accessibility
Gaming is for everyone. That is the sentiment that much of the industry shares and it shines brightly in TLOU2. Once the game first boots up, it takes you through an in-depth list of options to make this game as accessible as it possibly can be for all who decide to play. I wish to see this in more titles from all developers. I enjoyed the auto pickup mechanic as I believe my triangle button may have given out after playing through this title otherwise. When everyone can play a game, everyone wins.

    Story
I had not played The Last of Us until before I played this title. The end of the first title ending with Joel's lie left me with a feeling as if there was more to explore. The opening of TLOU2 gave me the best closure for the end of the first title. In contrast, the story of TLOU2 left me with more closure at the end than the first title with Ellie walking into the distance defeated. The story of TLOU2 is polarizing to say the least. I found myself feeling as though this was a multiple choice story but only had one option for me to follow with the linear story. I found my morals and emotions challenged. However, like Seattle, storms loomed too. Characters such as Isaac, Mel, Jesse, Tommy, and Owen all felt underused to me. The LGBTQ+ elements of this story felt forced in the case of Ellie and Dina, who I did not sense a deep connection between. The elements of Lev being trans and forced out of the religious cult that he is a part of feel like a political message. The story left me feeling hollow, yet indifferent. Desolate is the descriptor for my experience. The Last of Us Part 2 is a game that will have you go through many emotions, trials, and moral-challenging situations. Play this game and see how you feel.

    - Guion conveniente.
    - Personajes mal construidos, incoherentes y completamente cambiados.
    - Personajes secundarios sin relevancia alguna.
    - Una trama pretenciosa a mas no poder.
    - Un ritmo exagerado, pudo haberse resumido mucho mas.
    - Completamente repetitivo.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

Here, the story was poisoned by poor character development and hidden agendas regarding sexual identity, with obvious emphasis on the latter throughout the game. Some people might like it, but I certainly did not.. I have been impatiently waiting for the release of this game since the release of the original one a few years ago, which was an absolute masterpiece. But when I finally played it, I wish I simply didn’t. The purpose of gaming is to take the mind to a happy place to de-stress and be entertained. And just like any other gamer, I played this game to be entertained. However, I constantly found myself confronted by ethical dilemmas and uncomfortable feelings knowing that I am being fed someone’s ideas in the context of entertainment.. Disappointing.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Ok so let me get this straight. Even if you did not like the story, it is delusional to rate this game with less than a 5. People rating this game with 0 or 1 at this point just look like kids throwing a temper tantrum over the death of Joel or the path that Ellie takes this game. And even as a big fan of the first game I even find worrying the fact you would even get emotionally attached to him when he is a smuggler, he tortured people, killed inocents, etc. Don't get me wrong, he is a fantastic character, but treating him as some kind of hero or getting upset about his death? Nah...
So anyways, the visuals in this game are outstanding (9/10). The OST while not as memorable as the first game's is still decent (7/10). The gameplay is a step up in every sense compared to the first game (new enemies, new mechanics) and the game is overall really fun to play (10/10).
I personally think that the story and the narrative are spectacular (10/10). I had never experienced something like this while playing a videogame. I think Abby as a character is really clever because at first you think she is some kind of villain but then you realize that she is basically a "better Ellie" in the sense that all his motives are "more justified" (she seeks revenge for the death of her father, which was an innocent who tried to save humanity, while Ellie seeks revenge for Joel that, well...) so it puts the player on a difficult spot in which you think that you are playing as the villain, but then you are actually not, and then when you get the full picture you get the same feeling in Santa Barbara playing as Ellie, and this time you know for certain that you are the "villain". The fact that the story is told on a "Left Behind" style, going back and forth in time, was also really cool. And there are some others really cool new characters such as Dina or Lev, which I think are really complex considering they are secondary characters.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last Of Us Part II is the best game I have ever played in my life. Naughty Dog made an awesome work here, but it isn't a game that everyone will like. This is a complex game with a complex story. It's an apocallypse, people dies like nothing, doesn't have a right or bad side, there isn't a good end.
The Last Of Us Part II picked up all the good mechanics of the first game and made them better in this sequence.
When I was playing it for the first time I was like in a rollercoaster of emotions. This game made me laugh, cry and be thinking about what just happened.
When Joel died, I looked for revenge against Abby, I just wanted to kill her and all her friends because of what she did with our protagonist. But the game mades you feel bad and understand Abby's reason. It is an apocallypse like I said before, people are bad, they kill and die for nothing, and it's this that the last of us brings to the player.
Ellie's development was a little complicated to understand, we would do the same of she if we where Ellie.
Talking about the technick aspects, here you are.

    Story: 10/10
    Music: 10/10
    Gameplay: 10/10
    Variety of enemies: 7.5/10

I have never played this game because I can't afford a ps4 but I loved the first one which I played on my friends ps3 it was easily the best game I had ever played then 7 years later naughty dog release a sequel which many of us did not see coming and I dodged all the spoilers I could and tried to play it on an emulator tried buying the ps4 but nothing really worked so I decided to just watch the playthrough on youtube it felt magical the game looked phenomenal as I got to the second part of the playthrough I was devastated to see Joel die so I just stopped watching it for 2 weeks but I couldn't stop and wanted to see Ellie kill Abby but as Ellie killed all of Abby's friends and was selfish and blind towards Dina and peoples feelings around her I couldn't differentiate between Abby and Ellie. Ellie killed people Abby loved and Abby killed a person who we loved so I couldn't see the difference between Ellie and Abby and I personally think that this is where naughty dog wanted us to feel. they wanted us the feel the rage towards Abby and when they swapped characters' naughty dog wanted us to be confused about feeling guilt and anger for Abby. When Abby meets Yara and lev, Abby becomes levs guide or mentor or a father figure like Joel was for Ellie in the first game, the way Joel was seeking forgiveness and redemption from his past the same way Abby was too. She was also seeking forgiveness and redemption for what she did to Joel we can see that on her facial expression when she killed Joel she looked like her dad wasn't avenged she felt empty and unsatisfied by what she did. Last Of Us 2 is a Technical Marvel from a both gamers and critics perspective I personally think that lou2 is easily the best looking game out there. if you haven't played last of us 2 please do it is the best game I have watched someone else play. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

Characters I all hated - Tommy's cool - relationships I could not connect with, decisions about plot, no improvements in core game play like stealth and enemy AI. Until this game I thought Naughty Dog could do no wrong in story telling. This game was full of awful characters you hate and the way this game was written forcing you to play as those characters, ugh. The ending was maybe the dumbest I have ever seen. I'll take a NES game from my childhood that ended with "THE END! GAME OVER" I am glad Ellie ended up alone. Jump button? It got me in trouble more than anything. I forced myself to slog through until the end and I wish the game was 10 hours shorter.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

While I will not spoil the story, I will allude to my take on the overall tone of the plot and make reference to a gameplay change that happens mid-way through, so I leave it up to you if that's too much.

    You’ve been warned.

The Last of Us 2 is easily one of the most divisive games of all time. It makes some bold choices in its story telling that many do not like; however, the greatness of gameplay is often lost in this debate. In terms of gameplay, the game builds on everything the first game did well. The Last of Us was fun, but the story and enemy design did a lot of the heavy lifting. This time around, there is more of game worth playing, even if you don't care for the story. There is a point in the game where the character stats reset, and, again, this is divisive. Contrary to how some have put it, you are not redoing everything you’ve already done; however, it’s not a totally new gameplay experience either. It changes up some skills and craftable items, but that’s about it. If you think this will annoy you, keep that in mind. For what it's worth, I barely thought twice about this until I saw so many people being upset by it.

Now, on to the story, which is much harder to discuss spoiler free, so I am going to try and be a bit objective.

I think you owe it to yourself to play this game and formulate your own take on its story. In the end, Sony and Naughty Dog are taking big risks on this series. It paid off in the first game and was (nearly) universally praised by critics and fans. This time, it's is far more divisive. Like the first game, the story is not meant to be satisfying. It's meant to be true to the characters and world in which they exist. It's a credit to the writers of the sequel that it never feels like they are trying to outdo the original. They're just trying to continue the story. They make some very bold decisions here, and these do overflow into the game’s design and create scenarios you may not enjoy, and I do not believe you are meant to. It was my opinion that these situations felt organic to the story, and, especially the characters, and not forced. If you want a game that makes you feel comfortable all the time, this is not the game for you.

As for the ending, I understand a lot of the criticism there, but I was more ok with it than most; however, your mileage will vary depending on how attached or unattached you are to characters. You experience with narratives outside of video games will likely influence your thoughts as well.

In summary, I think this good game for every gamer to play as you can have fun while having your expectations challenged. If you go in with this expectation, you'll likely walk away with a more positive opinion than most.

It is a miracle that we get to have a stories like this in AAA titles. While it may not be everyone's cup of tea, appreciate what you can, while you can. I am concerned gamers will start pushing back on challenging stories, just as movie goers did with film. It's quite likely that, one day, all AAA game stories will be as formulaic, predicable, and full of fan service as the modern movie blockbuster.

I know some people didn’t like the story because they think it is forced, and, in fact, it can be a little bit, but I don’t think the game deserves a low rating just because of this, since the story stills very good. The gameplay is great, so it is the soundtrack and the character development: when you kill a NPC, you’re killing someone that has a name and friends, and it is shown when you play with that another character (that I’ll hide the name because it can be a spoiler for some people that didn’t see nothing about the game yet), but I think the best part of the game is the feeling it gives you in some moments.

The game should be a 10, but I chose to rate it as a 9 because of the final part, where we face a different group, but the game doesn’t tell anything about them, and it (the final part) lasts less than it should. But, after that, the cutscenes are masterpieces, making you rethink about all Ellie’s choises.

Killing Joel was a huge mistake, and the writing was just bad. And honestly I know this game won GOTY 2020 at the Game Awards, but for pretty much everyone, the real winner should've been either Ghost of Tsushima, or Hades. But I'll admit that you guys deserved the Audio Design award at least for this game. But everything else I say no. Sorry Naughty Dog, but I have to pass this game. But don't worry because I still love you all and I don't hate none of you. I just basically think that killing Joel was a huge mistake for the franchise. Expand

I never leave reviews for games, but the reception that 'The Last of Us Part II' has received gives me much incentive to share my opinion. This game, to me, is a masterpiece; and that is the case for many people. However, it seems that just as many people view this profoundly impacting game as nothing more than a disappointment.

It is my opinion that many of the criticisms these people pummel at this game actually have very little thought behind them. Now, you are allowed to like and dislike what you please - there is no problem with that - but the lack of understanding (present within the majority of negative reviews) of things as simple as what this game is about, suggests to me that many people have not bothered to think about this game with an open critical mind; they have simply seen their favourite creators criticise it, and have actively looked for reasons as they play to have the same opinion. In fact, this lack of understanding is so dumbfounding, that I would not be surprised if some of these scathing reviewers have not even played the game.

Many criticise the game for being a 'bland' story about how 'revenge is bad'. These people have missed the point. Revenge is a secondary theme in this game; the narrative is largely about obsession, regret, and perspective. It is a complex story, and all of these themes work together to create an intricate commentary on the nature of humankind; Naughty Dog presents how easy it is for humans to grow too attached to the people and beliefs that they care about, and how they begin to base their very actions and morals about their perceived importance of such people and beliefs; one person's loved one could be another person's worst enemy, and - when they attempt to accept and understand this fact - they can start to lose their mind. The game's central characters each play a part in presenting this idea to the player; think of how many people Joel murdered in the first game. Whilst Ellie views him as someone special, it makes a lot of sense that others would loathe him for what he did.

But this is not all that Druckmann and his team do to convey this message - they do more. They do, perhaps, the most daring thing they could possibly have done.

They drag us into the fray.

Characters - that we once loved and thought were heroes - become the enemy, as we are forced to play as someone that hates them to their very core. This allows us to relate the game's message to ourselves; perhaps the people WE love are hated by others? It is a chilling thought that attempts to induce empathy in us; it's a thought that is masterfully taken from Naughty Dog's post apocalyptic USA and driven right home to the player, who is given the same task that the game's central characters must overcome; accepting and understanding their worst enemy.

These are the ideas that Naughty Dog explores - not the idea that 'revenge is bad'. Yes, revenge is presented as being bad; but that is not what the game is about. Similarly, in the first game, the infected are presented as 'bad', in that they kill you if they drain your health; however, this is not the game's central theme - the true central theme has nothing to do with the infected, as it is about the love between Ellie and Joel. It sounds like a silly comparison, but it is - indeed - very silly to truly believe that this game's message can be summed up as 'revenge is bad'.

The Last of Us Part II is a must play. I have not touched on the gameplay, graphics design, music, or anything other than the story. Pretty much everybody believes that these other things are brilliantly executed, myself included. I simply wanted to talk about the game's narrative, as this is what most of the discourse regards.

However, what I will touch on - before I conclude - is how representative this game is of many different communities and cultures. It is very inclusive, in ways that made me smile - for example, there is a trans character who appears two-thirds of the way through the game, and becomes integral to the plot. I have never before played a game that is at all representative of the trans community. It's truly amazing. We have finally been given a glimmer of hope for the future in terms of how people are represented in the media.

(Sidenote: I have a hunch that bigotry may play a part in why this game is so hated. Of course, I can never truly know what goes on in other people's minds; but, considering that games like Assassin's Creed II - which is about a white sexist man, and DOES present a bland revenge narrative - are considered to be really good, it begins to present itself as a possibility.)

I truly think that, if you have not played this game, you should give it a shot. There are many twists and turns, and - from the opening shot of Joel scrubbing his guitar, to the closing credits - there were many moments that brought genuine tears to my eyes.

This is one of the best games ever made.

    Have a nice day! x

Some of the events were just in the wrong order and would have made sense if it was organized differently. The game play is fun and intense, most of the characters are memorable and acting is extremely good. The game also looks awesome. In my opinion this was a perfect showcase of how we humans can be absolute monsters as well as loving and caring at the same time.

Most of the "bad" reviews seem to think that the plot was bad. I am personally very happy that naughty dogs did not play it safe but instead created a bold plot that makes you feel sad. Last of us I was not a happy story and neither is this. This story will definitely leave you feeling empty afterwards, but that is not a bad thing.
