    Definitely a game changer in terms of gameplay and storytelling, people who've rated low is due to some major story decisions about our favorite characters, but there is a lot of depth which cannot be analyzed fully just from surface.     Titolo che per il 70-80% è identico al primo, belle e importanti le aggiunte alle impostazioni, trama superiore al precedente, gameplay che dopo 7 anni è per il 90% identico al predecessore.

    This game is a masterpiece.

    The negative reviews that focus on a plot point they disagree with are missing the point. The overall experience genuinely elevates the whole videogame medium, and I Don't think that's hyperbole.

    The gameplay - It’s also pretty good but it can be bad at some times.
    The Characters - Designs are really good, there is a lot of detail on the Character designs.
    Now let’s talk about what really went downhill to this game. I really enjoyed the game at the start. I know that Joel dying is terrible but I already saw it coming before all the leaks. The thing that pisses me off the most, is the ending. The fact that Ellie went through so much, had to kill so many people, even killed a baby, traveled so much, had some of her friends killed in the journey by Abby, and finally at the end, Ellie has her hands on Abby. She now could easily kill Abby. She was about to drown Abby. But guess what. She decides to let her go. FOR WHATEVER REASON..... LIKE LITERALLY YOU WENT THROUGH SO MUCH SH*T JUST TO NOT KILL JOEL’S KILLER AT THE END? Neil Druckmann, I thought this game was about revenge? Or is it not? So disappointed.    … Expand

    So to be completely honest people overreacted to this game, it isn't as good as the first one, and definitely not Game of The Year (that would be Ghost of Tsushima). But the story itself is really good, although how they told it and did it wasn't, the ending should've had a character choice.     Even though I hated the storyline and narrative of the game, the game is a marvel for its generation. The game is worth playing. But if you do, be open-minded or else you fell in the statistics like I did.

There are some critikal points(a lot) but its still worth the time youll spend on it. This game basically tells you about revenge , hate and its consequences to others.     Muy buen juego me encanto la historia. Es lo que tuvo que suceder desde de las consecuencias del final del primer juego. Este juego te deja igual de impactado muy tenso muy emocional debido que vas superando los pensamiento de las protagonistas. Algunas escenas sobran. Muy contento

El juego como casi todos lo odie antes de que saliera, las filtraciones, la muerte de joel, ese supuesto final en el que Ellie y dina supuestamente morían lo odie con toda mí alma. Luego de que saliera vi un par de gameplays y no me convencía y también lo odiaba un poco. Pero como me dijo un amigo mío "no puedes juzgar un juego sin haberlo jugado, no importa cuántos gameplays, directos, videos veas, no se compara con jugarlo y vivirlo tu mismo" a la dos o tres semanas que pasó el juego me lo compre y me lo pasé y la verdad es que mí amigo tenía razón. El juego me encantó se nota que Neil Druckmann quiso hacer algo diferente pero al mismo tiempo no perder la esencia del primero. Los espacios abiertos de combates, los gráficos, la jugabilidad de las mejores en mí opinión, la música, del gran Gustavo Santaolalla y especialmente la historia tan criticada a mí me encantó. Aunque parezca una simple historia de venganza Neil Druckmann la logra hacer de una manera tan clara, con suspenso, perdidas y tragedias que me parece una maravilla. Y aunque me odien por lo que voy a decir lo diré: logré empatizar con Abby y me parece un personaje igual o mejor que Ellie. Porque? Abby solo tenía un unico objetivo, matar a Joel, dejo vivir a Ellie y a Tommy, ella se dio cuenta que perdió todo y que matar a Joel no le va a devolver a si padre. Luego de que Ellie mata a todos sus amigos ella la deja vivir nuevamente. También ayuda a Yara y Lev, integrantes de una faccion que habían matado a varios de sus amigos lobos y aún así los ayudo y los rescató más de una vez e hizo cosas como matar a sus propios aliados o sacrificar su vida, superar sus miedos a las alturas, engañar a su faccion y luchar con un infectado horripilante solo con tal de conseguir medicamentos para la operación de Yara. El final me pareció de lo mejor les juro que al ver a Ellie caminar hacia la nada dejando la guitarra de Joel en esa casa abandonada y empezar a escuchar esa hermosa melodía (beyond desolation para el que la quiera buscar) me sentí vacío. El juego me encantó no merece ser criticado tanto como se lo ha hecho se nota que le pusieron empeño y trabajo. Es una obra maestra en mí opinión. Lo juego y lo seguiría jugando porque me encantó. Con lo que voy a decir a continuación mi propósito no es ofender pero lo diré (aunque se que alguno se va a ofender). La mayoría de las personas que critican con los mismos argumentos (murió Joel, Ellie perdona a Abby, es políticamente correcto, etc) el juego obviamente solo lo han visto mediante gameplays y no han tenido la oportunidad de jugarlo, pero si alguna vez la tienen juéguenlo porque es un juegazo muy recomendado. Bueno esa es mi opinión algunos que lo jugaron y no le gusto los entiendo.… Expand

    It is sad to see how many people leave bad reviews for this game, it definitely does not deserve them, the story is hard to get through but not because it is bad, but because it is emotional and real. Naughty Dog did not pull punches and it was breathtaking. The gameplay is absolutely polished beyond anything I have played before!

    till we play as ellie the story is interesting putting aside the quality, you have a purpose to keep playing it. then they just decide to switch randomly to abby exploring her story of 3 days doing absolutely nothing remotely related to the plot? wtf i haven’t completed it yet im    last of us 2 is not a good game, it is a good story.

    There were parts in the story that I didn't like so much and that could have been told in a better way and some pieces of story could have been better if they were presented in a different order, but all in all this was a decent game.

    I give this game a 5 because the positive points of the game are good graphics and good gameplay but then the story which i think ts the most important thing its just garbage i actually think killing Joel is a good idea but the way they killed him with a golf stick its just super dissapointing and then we play as Abby the character we all hate it would be a god idea if we played as her like we did same story and all but they donnt show us that she killed Joel until we nearly finish the game and we can choose when we want to play as Abby and Ellie another thing we all would think Abby is a good character until she kills Joel and about Ellie she lost her charisma and in the end we can choose to kill Abby or to let her live.    … Expand

But it seems like you guys felt the same as Ellie and put your hatred towards your enemy, which in your case is the game itself. I think that's quite the reason for not being able to enjoy and fully understand all characters' motives.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is by no means the greatest game ever made, but it's no dumpster fire either. And lemme point out that I am NOT being paid to say what is said in this review.

    Story: The story is one of the boldest I have ever experienced. I saw Joel's death coming a mile away (not because I saw the leaks that came out in April, because I didn't), and yet I was still absolutely drowned in sadness and anger for his killer. And Ellie had to watch. People say it was completely out of character for Joel to die the way he did, but that's the thing: Joel in this game isn't the same man as the man we played in the original. Throughout the first half of the game, you experience flashbacks with Ellie and Joel, learning that the Firefly incident is driving them apart, and once Ellie learns the truth, Joel becomes a much more sensitive man, and after that, he's not the hardened killer we once knew. It became his instinct to not straight up torture or run over every dude that he comes across, and in the end it's an incidental slip-up that gets him killed.

    Once Joel is killed, Ellie is filled with hatred and rage for Abby, the girl that killed Joel, and she goes on a suicidal revenge mission to Seattle to find and kill Abby and all of her friends that were present to Joel's killing. But as she gets closer and closer to that goal, she starts to lose herself, turning into the person that Joel never wanted Ellie to be. She becomes this unrecognizable monster that we (the players) and her friends don't recognize. In the end, Ellie becomes the villain of this story.

    As for Abby, the reason why she killed Joel is because Joel killed her dad, who was the surgeon in charge of the Firefly outpost in Salt Lake City, and possibly the last man on the planet that could develop a vaccine to the pandemic. This rage is recognized in Ellie once Joel is killed. Abby is filled with rage and hatred for Joel, that she follows up on leads on where he could be, and end him once and for all. However, once Abby has accomplished her goal and returns to Seattle with her friends, she wonders if it was worth it or not. And as she's in the middle of a territorial war with these cultists, she runs into two kids that are on the run from their own kind, and Abby starts to develop a responsibility for these kids, since they saved her life from being hanged and gutted. And so she goes to great lengths to do the best for these kids, and protect them with all her might.

    That is the genius part about this story: Ellie and Abby eventually turn into the people that they hate the most: Ellie turns into Abby, and Abby turns into Joel. It's very enticing to see how much these two characters change by the end of the game. Which brings up the final point of the story: the ending.

    Ellie and Abby are on a beach in California, about to escape, when Ellie stops Abby, and then they have a fight to the death. Ellie was nearly victorious, and on the verge of drowning Abby. If Abby had died, I would've been content with that, since it would've been the appropriate ending. But, personally, I like the real ending more. As she is in the middle of drowning Abby, the Ellie that we once knew starts to resurface, and starts realizing what she's doing. Abby spares Ellie at the beginning of the game, and in the middle, when Abby is about to choke to death from being hanged, Lev (one of the kids that Abby starts to care for), saves Abby, who spares Ellie again when she is confronted in the theater, who eventually saves Abby and Lev's life from the slavers in California. Ellie has done so many terrible things to get to this point, that killing Abby no longer means anything. Ellie remembers that her last conversation with Joel was a good one, and decides to spare Abby in the end.

    Once Ellie returns home, she can no longer play the guitar, because two of her fingers were bitten off by Abby during their fight on the beach. Which leaves this empty feeling in Ellie, and she leaves her guitar and her home behind, hoping that one day, she can live the life that Joel wanted for her. It makes you wonder what will happen in The Last Of Us Part III (if there's ever gonna be one).

    I'll briefly go over the rest. The gameplay hasn't changed much compared to the original game, which came out in 2013, but it's stealth gameplay makes for some tense situations, whether it comes between dealing with dudes with guns, or the terrifying infected. You have to use anything at your disposal in order to succeed in any situation. The game is easily the best-looking game ever made for the PS4, and runs smoothly at 30 FPS, even on older PS4 models. The game hasn't crashed on me once, and I've played through it 3 times already. And the music is very deep, and I still listen to the soundtrack from time to time.

    In the end, this game is good, and I hope this game stops receiving dumb, intoxicating comments involving the story, sexual orientation, and death threats towards the devs and actors.    … Expand

    A masterpiece. Gameplay, visuals, technology, and STORY (!) is MIND BLOWING.
    Nail Druckman is a genius.

    Im happy that I live i this times and could take that JOURNEY.
    If first part was 10/10 this is 20/10
    Absolutely must play.

    Solo naughty dog podría hacer lo que parecía imposible, mejorar un juego que ya era excelente y con The Last of Us parte 2 quedó bastante claro que lo logró y en mí opinión por mucho, el juego es simplemente perfecto no le encontré nada en contra, una historia sublime, personajes excelentemente desarrollados, gráficos, los mejores vistos hasta hoy    "Mejoró lo que ya era un gran exponente"

    Dejando de lado la inclusión forzada, es un juegazo con una historia bastante compleja que genera sentimientos encontrados y te hace sentirte parte de la misma.

La verdad me pareció un pedazo de juego, me encanta todos los sentimientos que te hace sentir, muy bien logrado, a parte de para mí, los mejores gráficos de está generación, el final me pareció bien y cuerente ya que Ellie dejo vivir a Abby por el simple hecho de que Abby le perdono la vida 2 VECES, y además ellie pensaba que la única manera de perdonar a Joel era vengarlo matando a Abby pero al final la dejo vivir porque comprendió que así no era la manera, en cambio a la muerte de Joel, primero que nada digo que no te podes enojar al punto de odiar TODO el juego, simplemente porque mataron a un personaje que se lo merecía y que era más que obvio que iba a morir, además me pareció bien está decisión ya que es el causante de la venganza de Ellie, y si la que hubiera muerto era Dina no hubiera sido un "BOOM" tan grande en ellie como la muerte del personaje que sería como su padre. Nos hacen jugar con Abby para poder comprender sus motivos pero si estás tan enojado y ya de por si por la muerte de Joel odiar el juego no vas a empatizar con ella es obvio.     Considero que sin duda es un juegazo, a pesar que no me gustó la historia creo que mereció el GOTY y es 100% recomendado, si bien no lo considero mejor que la primera parte, la supera considerablemente en casi todo, pero comprendo que a muchas personas no les haya gustado el juego.

    I just don't have the words. This is a masterpiece, I would put 12/10 if it were possible. An incredibly cruel story about revenge.     Juego imprescindible que empuja la frontera de los videojuegos un paso más allá debido a sus gráficos, infinidad de animaciones y, fundamentalmente, por subvertir las expectativas de narración. No lo veo perfecto por repetir algunas de las mecánicas de su predecesor y por usar muchos golpes de efecto ya vistos en otros "survival horror".

    A game that will stick with you even months after playing it. Beautiful graphics, stunning soundtrack, and some of the best voice acting of any game. The story feels like a natural continuation of the first game, but still shocks you to your core. They took a risk for the narrative direction of the game, and it definitely pays off.

    And yet, I gave it a chance. Slowly but surely they made me care about a character I hated with a burning fire only a little while before. They humanised her, they showed how everything is not black and white. That the world is not just good and bad but many subtle shades of grey in between. It was hard to play in moments but rewarding and exciting. The game-play and graphics were beyond excellent.

    Sadly this game will not be recognised for it's greatness until the video game community is filled with more self aware, empathetic, and emotionally intelligent community members. That is not an insult to my community, more just a depressing observation.    … Expand

    The most intense game I've played yet. The gameplay is pretty good but the cinematic quality of the cutscenes are incredible. I've been thinking about the ending to this day. Also, the last of us franchise is very special to me since it was the first game my sister had ever gotten interested JUST by seeing some cutscenes on the tv in the background. Some combat and exploration sequences felt a bit too long and drawn out with the more open environments, especially with little to no real dialogue.

    The game's presentation is incredible. They push the PS4 hardware to the absolute limit, and give the 9th gen console a hefty load. The textures look incredible, the motion capture is well done, the facial movements, especially during combat, are visceral, and the violence looks absolutely brutal and disgusting. It was a great improvement upon the visuals of the first game. Settings look incredible, and you can tell how many man hours went into making this game look like a cinematic masterpiece.

    The soundtrack from Santaolalla was fairly good; I enjoyed the atmospheric and minimalist textures he employs in complimenting the hollowness, the utter emptiness of a post apocalyptic united states.

    Accessibility options are worth noting as well, as the features covered a lot more ground that accessibility in any previous game had, with all kinds of filters for colorblindness of different kinds, visual cues, even audio cues to make the game half playable for a blind person. This should be the industry standard for accessibility.

    The story, however, is where the seams come apart, and the reason I rate the game 6 (though it's really more of a 6.5) is because of the fact that it is indeed a story driven game. It's a cautionary tale that shows us that graphics and presentation really aren't everything. The story is something that reads as if it was not very well thought out. It doesn't have a satisfying structure to it, and is full of conveniences, contrivances, and gaffes that break the immersion. Of course, the first game had its story foibles as well, especially with respect to how modern medicine works, but I'm not reviewing part 1.

    To begin, the story eschews a traditional story structure. This has been done successfully in the past, but it is difficult to pull off, and it hurt the story more than it helped. Joel dies as the inciting event of the game, Ellie sets off on the warpath, and the narrative tension appropriately rises and accompanies Ellie's in game progression; she acquires new skills and weapons as she comes closer to finding Abby and kills her friends. The game reaches a climax confrontation, but then annihilates itself by cutting to black and returning to several days earlier, but now as Abby. This decision completely destroys the stakes, disincentivizes player investment, and restarts character progression, which annoyed me quite a bit, having to start the character progression over with less health, fewer skills, and only two weapons. The game gets back to the climax in a very roundabout way, introducing a medical fetch quest for relieving compartment syndrome via amputation (another medical gaffe) that I found myself not really invested in, as it had little to do with the main narrative. Yara and Lev were potentially good and interesting characters that didn't feel very well fleshed out or developed over the game's second act. The climax happens, Abby beats Ellie down, and leaves her there. That seemed like a fine place to end, but the game overstays its welcome with a coda where you play as Ellie once again, giving the game a third climax. By the end, the oddball story structure left me somewhat unsatisfied, as did the (dare I say) somewhat milquetoast ending.

    Though the story structure is the game's main story weakness, several other items stand out. The opening of the game very clearly takes a moral position of Joel being "bad," and that he's receiving consequences for the hospital massacre. This seems somewhat nonsensical, given the circumstances in part 1 that left him with no alternatives, and fails to consider the fireflies as anything other than world savior do-gooders, rather than flawed and complex human beings. The game teases out this notion when Abby begins to experience regret for dragging her friends into the fray and getting them killed, but never meaningfully reconciling with the fact that, perhaps the Fireflies weren't perfect people, and were no better than Joel, or that they intended to kill him.

    The story is also littered with nagging contrivances: characters get Deus Ex rescued over and over, and they make nonsensical decisions for the purpose of advancing the game's moralistic paradigm. Abby and Co, for example, spare Ellie because "uh oh, revenge is actually bad" rather than killing her to cover tracks, or Ellie deciding to free abby from the stake at the game's ending.    … Expand

Se puede resumir en muy pocas palabras: Mejor juego del año 2020 y uno de los mejores videojuegos de este siglo. Mi intención no es entrar a la fiera discusión que hubo en su lanzamiento, sino valorar objetivamente esta gran obra de arte.
    Sin duda alguna, es una entrega que lo hace de 10 en muchos aspectos. El principal, en mi opinión, es la narrativa principal. Si bien a muchos fans no les gusto que Joel fuese apartado de la trama en los comienzos del juego, no se puede asignar un 0 a la narrativa y en general a este videojuego por ese hecho. La trama va mas allá de matar a repulsivos y escalofriantes zombis. Es una historia donde prima el drama, la tragedia, la soledad y la tristeza. Una historia cargada de momentos trágicos, como lo son las muertes inoportunas y sorprendentes de muchos personajes que aparecen a lo largo de la historia. También es impactante la forma en que se desarrollan las dos partes de la narrativa. Por un lado la trama de Ellie, su caza fructuosa por Seattle, en busca de una venganza implacable y fría, sangrienta y salvaje. Por otro lado, la emotiva y fiera historia de superación de Abby, que al principio se nos presenta como el principal antagonista de la trama. La trama se desarrolla en 3 días, los 3 de Ellie y los 3 días Abby respectivamente, entrelazándose ambas historias y creando momentos de tensión muy agudos. Lo cierto es que la narrativa es mas extensa (unas 25 horas) que en la primera entrega, pero también es una narrativa con muchos mas personajes, además de que "Naughty Dog" parece que quiso cerrar el circulo con esta entrega, dejándonos seguramente sin "The Last Of Us 3".
    El siguiente aspecto realmente remarcable es el apartado grafico. Sumemos y pensemos por un momento qué serian las escenas dramáticas, nostálgicas y en general sentimentales sin unos personajes con una definición brillante, un entorno cuidado y detallado y por supuesto unas expresiones faciales perfectas. Esto ocurre con esta entrega; el realismo abrumador de todo en general nos hace sentir lo que les ocurre a los personajes, desde lo que se nos cuenta en las espectaculares cinemáticas con un punto de granulado ideal que nos transporta al cine hasta el "gameplay" en general, que también mantiene un tono de cinemática increíble.
    Por otro lado, también destaca en el apartado como yo lo llamo de los "detalles". Son los pequeños detalles los que marcan la diferencia entre un videojuego y un gran videojuego. Por ejemplo, el increíble realismo de la sangre, los desmembramientos a enemigos, la mejora de armas o la rotura de cristales son esos detalles que marcan la diferencia. Otro detalle fascinante es el incremento de pulsaciones y respiración tanto de Ellie como de Abby en combate o en momentos de tensión.
    Otro punto que no quiero dejar pasar sin comentar es el de la inteligencia artificial. Los enemigos, principalmente humanos, cobran una personalidad, un realismo que realmente nos hacen acobardarnos de ellos y sumergirnos en un combate de guerrilla y en el que primara el sigilo y la puntería con nuestras armas y la poca munición de la que disponemos.
    Con todo esto, no podemos negar que no todo lo de este videojuego es brillante, pero en general todo lo que se ve, todo lo que uno puede disfrutar y sentir es asombroso. Sin duda, no esperaba que esta entrega me fuese a fascinar tanto.    … Expand

I love Ellie and I only saw things the way she did until playing Abby. I felt for Abby and saw her struggle and pain. I felt this game was so human and raw. This game reminded me that everyone has a story, and no matter the pain one person feels, or the justification they see in their actions, we all are a villain or a hero to someone in this world.     I think 8 is the most realistic rating for the last of us part 2
    What I don't like about the game is that you play most of the game as the main villain, like Abby, and the fact that Joel died shortly at the beginning of the game.
    The story, the graphics, the soundtrack is beautiful and so on.

    on a review i watched, someone said, they not only killed joel, they also killed ellie from the first game. and yes, thats the case. which i have to say, that takes balls and they are paying the price for such a move. they could make many more games, where ellie is the sweet and bratty heroine. and they get easily their good score of their fans.
    they build characters that are mostly likable and relatable and brought them into hell. kinda a place where joel was at the start of the first game. but at the end, they managed to break out again. abby did in the theater and later ellie at the beach. i am not surprised that people are angry about that, but for me it was a brave move and takes balls to do that.
    i liked all new characters and hated old ones. tommy became at the end an absolutely unlikable person after all the time he was just so supportive and kind. which is not a bad thing. people change. i liked to follow them to those transitions.
    i cant not like a game that gives me all kind of emotions like no other game.
    we already have a totally good woman we follow to her end in the game walking dead season 1-4. clementine is most of the good and tries to do the right thing and is just a heroine. we already know such story. i really like that this didnt happen with ellie, but quite the opposite. she became the villian.

    i cant say i loved playing the game, and i cant say i hated playing it. it is a new experience for me and that i cant denied and thats why the story is for me one of the best.

    also graphics are fantastic and the gameplay is diverse and taking out enemies in areas can turn out smoothly or just into a horrible shootout until the last bullet. only the quicktime events are just unnecessary. just square or just triangle. why not make it more complicated, instead of smashing one button, use a combination fast enough to finish it, or use the controller much more, moving around or smth.i am sure that wouldnt take too much work.

    it is not a masterpiece, it isnt perfect, it has flaws, in the story, in gameplay. but overall. it is amazing and just for that i bought a 2nd hand ps4 to play TLOU remastered first and then the 2nd part.    … Expand

With acting that’ll make you melt, an incredibly detailed and gorgeous world and an absolute revolutionary story, The Last of Us became an instant classic. After years and years of waiting for the sequel to this groundbreaking title, it’s finally here - and it’s glorious.

    The incredible voice acting is back, and it’s really Ashley Johnson as Ellie, and Laura Bailey as Abbey who completely destroy every single scene they’re in. There are so many constantly changing and evolving motifs (such as the guitar) that run beautifully throughout the story, and writing that challenges any blockbuster movie. The graphics, animations and sound design are easily the best I’ve seen in any video game. The gameplay completely elevates and annihilates that original’s, with an infinite increase in variety in how you approach different missions. But really it’s not these things that people are mad about. So what did I think about the story? It’s absolutely fantastic. Now, I think everybody knew Joel was gonna die. But it’s not until you see it that it really makes an impact. That scene is so brutal and heartbreaking, but never have I felt so emotionally attached to a character in any form of entertainment. The emotional connection that you build with Ellie in this game is groundbreaking. It felt like anything she felt, I felt, and the same with abbey. And so after that I wanted revenge, I wanted to kill those **** that killed Joel. But then halfway through the game they do something completely revolutionary - they make me play as the person who killed Joel. Now this to me is the greatest achievement of the Last of us: making me sympathize with Abbey and making me realize that everyone is the hero of their own story. Abbey’s part of the story is not quite as airtight as Ellie’s, but it’s really the writing, and some incredible scenes (like the one against Tommy) that made me love her. In the final battle between Ellie and Abbey, I feel like the game gave me everything I needed to make me want both to survive.

    Naughty Dog betrayed the expectation of the TLOU fans. This should be a store that has nothing to do with Joe and Ellie. I'll never buy any Naughty Dog games, and any games direct by Neil Druckman. And I'll tell all my friends not to do so.

    Good graphics, audio, action scenes and accessibility. But at the end of the day they struggle executing the story, which is a massive pull in this game, as well as lack of innovation in the gameplay between this and the first installment.

    In my opinion, this game is beautifully crafted. Amazing world, nature, and locations, it's hard to imagine a better visualization of this universe. I rarely pay attention to the soundtrack and sound effects, but in this game, they are very well done.

    Ok, but not everything is perfect. I definitely can agree with many other players, that Ellie and Joel's plot has been ruined. I loved the story from TLOU 1. But killing Joel at the beginning wasn't the best decision. Anyway, I think I could deal with his death, but the much worse thing they did is this sick revenge story of Ellie... that doesn't fit her personality.

    In the beginning, I was feeling the same as Ellie - we should rip off Abby's head, but at that moment I was thinking Ellie doesn't know what Joel did to her father. But later it turned out she did know, which made the whole vendetta sick. Joel killed with cold blood Abby's father. Ellie should at least try to understand her motives and feeling. Instead of dealing with it or at least trying, she decided to be a sick lesbian-rambo-psycho killing tons of fully-armed enemies, sacrificing her friends and relationship, just to chase the rabbit which in the end she didn't even kill. Not mentioning how unrealistic is that a single girl can kill whole armies without any troubles.

    The plot is unnatural, she confronted Abby twice, two times Abby speared her life (and Dina's), and Ellie didn't even think for a second that maybe it's enough, that maybe Abby felt the same as she's feeling now. That they are equal now, both "dads" are dead. Instead, she behaves like a psycho, she can't even sleep without killing people.

    And LGBT... I have nothing against LGBT when it's pictured naturally. Not like a forced bullet-list: lesbian checked, two lesbians having baby checked, bi-girl checked, interracial relationship checked, transgender kid checked, male-like girl checked. Come on... even Nextflix is not going that far in a single production...

    Ok, that's enough about the plot. The second bad thing is the gameplay (at least part of it). The first 10 hours were super boring, all the time the same: we need to go somewhere, oh nooo the path is blocked let's try to go through this building, loot loot loot, oh noooo spores, sneaking/killing, cutscene, repeat for 10h without many variations. Mostly the same type of enemies, attacks, etc.

    That's why to me Abby's plot was more interesting. It was more varied, more interesting locations, crazy people in the woods, burning villages, walking in the clouds, etc. Reasonable psychological transformation.

    Combining all together, I think this game is a decent 7/10. The mechanic could be better, the locations could be more interesting and the plot could be better written. Definitely not a 0-score game even if you don't like the plot because of the emotional bond with TLOU 1.    … Expand

    This game is a pivotal moment in the video game history to me. It is bigger than any movie or cartoon in that it uses the games unique power of story telling. Making you an agent, having you make decisions and see the consequences.

    The techincal exeuction is next-gen - the sound system, graphics, and, man oh man, the gameplay. Lots of fun mechanics that just work. Also incredible details - i spent up to 10 hours just looking at environments. reading cafe's menus :D And playing guitar. of course.

    As of the critique - the story is of the suffering. It delivers terrible blows - not anyone would like it.
    Also, for me, the story was a bit too long - i'd cut 4 to 5 hours of it.

    But overall - I think, it at least is worth experiencing.
    Much better if you play the 1st game beforehand.

    The game was amazing..graphics were over and beyond of the first game. The controls were easier to use and added for features to the game. The story was heart breaking and emotional. Amazing game all around... 8/10

The plot is a **** rollercoaster of emotions and it’s objectively 5x better compared to the TLOU1, I can say the same thing about the characters. I love Abby and Ellie both! If I had a choice between Abby and Ellie I would struggle for 999999 years and **** die and I would be happy about that because I don’t wanna choose one of them… Expand

    This game is probably the game of the year for me. I don't care about all the angry funboys saying "i don't like the game, it's a 0/10 because the story didn't go the way i wanted...". It's meant to be a sad and depressing game, deal with it. That being said don't expect to have fun with this game. You have been worned.
