    I dont understand the hate for this game, it's really good, not as good as the first but then again nothing is. I like this game a lot its gameplay is so great. The story does get annoying after replaying it a lot, the flashbacks make the game harder to replay, other then that it's a great game. I wish they'd add a wave mode so I could have more fun

    Oh boy, that was something... at first, I don't think I really liked this game. It was too rough on my feelings. But the sheer fact I never felt this way before playing a game and never felt this way since really says somethins. Kudos for Naughty Dog, who didn't delivered us the game we desired, and definetly didn't delivered what we deserved (it was far more than that). Instead, they toldOh boy, that was something... at first, I don't think I really liked this game. It was too rough on my feelings.     So beautiful 10/10 GOTY. This game is really good like I cant stop replying it. The gameplay is amazing and the enemy encounters are all varied but extremely fun to play. DONT GET ME STARTED ON THE BEAUTIFUL GRAPHICS MY GOD. I 100% completed the game a week after I got it because I was addicted

    Best graphics and gameplay of the last generation. You might not agree with the story but is a rollercoaster of feelings the whole time, you don’t experience this in games very often

    I play this game on older version of ps4 but I found details brilliant and didn't have any bugs, crashes or anything negative. I love relationship and chemistry of characters and i really enjoyed that aspect of game!
    Game is heavy, heartbreaking and sad. After finishing I was left with very depressing feeling in me for days. Even disappointment. This is single player story based game, so its strong point must be on the narrative part. And this part is so weak, first because of the way characters are handled, not giving them proper conclusions or completely destroying character traits for just pushing the story! Second, reusing the same combat engine from the first game (after seven years, they couldn’t come up with something new) and third, ruining the games story for pushing, like always seen in other games and movies this stupid politics agenda! Look, they made us care for Joel and Ellie in the first Last of us! So tell me, why couldn’t they just give the proper respect to them and end it in a much meaningful and respectful way?… Expand

You've all seen and heard all about it by now, so I'll put it plain and say I think the decisions made for the story were bold and took storytelling to a different level. I, of course, didn't like how quick Joel was killed off, BUT, neither did Ellie. Naughty Dog forced you to walk in the shoes of the "antagonist" we all watched brutally kill a beloved character. For me, I ended up liking both characters and left things feeling super complex in an ambiguous way. It was all a big psych evaluation from beginning to end. My biggest complaint is really the ending, which is why I'm giving it a 7 (which is still a 'good' score for me). It felt like they didn't know how to end the game and just felt thrown together in an otherwise epic narrative, it wasn't really a short game and the ending was just bland. I still enjoyed the game, it was fun, intense, and downright gorgeous. While I still had a couple of issues with some decisions that were made I STILL appreciate what they were going for.… Expand

    This game is masterpiece. I hate all those Crybabies, gameplay and story is the best. I just love this game. I just hope there would be third part but i think they will never make it becuse all this hate to part two.

    This is the worst game in the history of all games. The story is awful. If you want to play for the combat and liked the combat of the first game and then its a lot of the same thing for 25 hours and you might like it. But if you are playing for the story and want to experience something as amazing as the first game then stay away from this one. You will be seriously disappointed.     I’m not sure why this game gets a ton of hate. All the criticism has to do nothing with the product itself. Which makes me wonder if these reviews actually played the game. Amazing and driving story that would have an impact on your emotions. 10/10 a must play.

    A truly masterful piece of art. An incredibly compelling story, amazing visuals, amazing user-interface and overall aura of the game is top class. One of the best games of the PS4 generation for sure.

    This game is not providing only a moving, intense, fresh story, but also a perfect gameplay, stunning environments and advanced AI never seen before. If they would ask me to choose just one game to play for the rest of my life, baby will be Last of Us part 2.

This is one of the few games that I REALLY hate, but since I want to be fair, let's go first on the good things, gameplay and graphics are totally amazing, stealth is pretty generic, sound design is alright, but like me and alot of other peeps, the biggest flaw is probably the story, it is **** and is a spit on the face to those who loved the original, As soon as they killed off Joel I lost all interest, and the ending was even more ****, it was such an underwhelming ending that I didnt think it was a satisfying ending. The characters had some development and the performances were pretty good.Laura Bailey did a good job performing as Abby, a character I hated. Overall, it's very divisive and mixed. 5/10… Expand

Don’t pay for crap and reward the abuse to the developers who were forced to work insane hours in a crunch culture. Also the game forces you to kill dogs as “the evil character”. Thanks for that. I’m not a troll and I’m pro LGBTQ rights, but this story was just insulting. I played it months ago now and still can’t get over how bad it was, especially compared to the first. I’m going to seriously hesitate before ever playing a game from this developer again.… Expand

    The game does have nice graphics and a correct gameplay, but the story is plain bad.
    I won't spoil but it basically has a crappy plot (with plotholes too big to ignore) with disgusting characters and an awful ending. Clearly an unworthy sequel.

Ellie deciding not to kill Abby is also ridiculous because she literally killed all of Abby’s friends, even going so far as to bash Nora’s head in with a lead pipe. It’s funny too because Ellie basically saves Abby in the end and let’s her go because she otherwise most likely would have died on the beach. How are we as an audience supposed to care about Abby? She threatens to kill a pregnant woman in front of her girlfriend, shoots Tommy in the face, murders Joel with a golf club, shoots Jessie in the face and we are expected to care about her? Let alone like her? Big deal, her dad saved a Zebra from some barbed wire, who cares? I know I don’t. And why does every game today have to shove a political agenda down everyone’s throat? I enjoyed the first Last of Us despite its flaws, but I’m afraid now I will never buy another Naughty Dog game again. Filmmakers and game directors need to stop directly attacking the people that consume their products. Someone please fire Neil ****… Expand

After an unnecessary forced, looooong, repetitive and no sense story/gameplay I wished many times to end but no, there was always more...

    Graphics are outstanding.

    Music is good, but it is not as highlighted as it was in the first game so, it loses power. Gameplay is repetitive

    Story is so forced, it was a cool idea but not so well developed IMO.

    I don't feel like I was playing a game created by the same team. At the end when the game asked me if I wanted to play again, I was like, I don't think so. (I played the first TLOU like 6 times)    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is a masterpiece and is amazing every way. People hate on this game for no reason cause they don’t like a masculine women and you have to play as her. This adds more story depth and the gameplay and graphics are amazing. The story is easy to understand so people who say they are taking crap. 10/10 game of the generation.

    Que lástima haber gastado $60usd por esta decepción.
    Abby... Matar al sujeto que te acaba de salvar la vida te pone en deuda con él o por lo menos darle una explicación y en todo caso matarlo sin hacerlo sufrir.

    You cannot deny the skill that went into making this game. Yes, a lot of bloody, sweat and crunch was sacrificed at the altar to create this game but shady development practices aside, the quality is unmatched. Mechanically, it is perfect. Where it falters is in the chronology of its narrative. I understand why it is ordered the way it is but it ultimately puts too much emphasis on theYou cannot deny the skill that went into making this game. Where it falters is in the chronology of its narrative. I understand why it is ordered the way it is but it ultimately puts too much emphasis on the rare interactions between its opposing protagonists. We get it, revenge doesn't get you anywhere. That point is made relatively soon in the story but it continues to hammer the same nail right up to the end and it is emotionally exhausting. The story is brilliant in principle. Characters behave in manners true to themselves and the performances are phenomenal. But there are no moments of catharsis like there were in the original TLOU. Instead it is a sequence of actions, taken in the name of hatred that, little-by-little destroy the character taking those actions. Every Act with Ellie ends with her reaching a new rock bottom and it is so oppressively depressing.

    Ultimately I have scored this game from a technical perspective. It is a marvel to see running on a PS4, the gameplay is thrilling and I was invested in the story. Yet I must add, I did not enjoy playing TLOU2 because of how it made me feel. The ending is so hopelessly miserable that I googled whether there was a secret ending that I missed. You spend 30 hours descending into this story of misery to find there really is no light at the end of the tunnel, just more misery. It's horrible and really shouldn't be played by anyone whose emotions are easily affected by watching their favourite TV show, or reading their favourite book. You'll get invested in these well-rounded characters and catch some severe depression as you experience what happens to them.    … Expand

Во время прохождения у меня тоже были смешанные чувства по поводу сюжета, и не все мне понравилось, но это задумка автора, а не угождение каждому. Во время прохождения у меня тоже были смешанные чувства по поводу сюжета, и не все мне понравилось, но это задумка автора, а не угождение каждому. Но даже учитывая то что некоторые сюжетные повороты и вставки лгбт мне не понравились, я считаю что игра на очень высоком уровне! А то что разработчики смогли выжать из ps4 ТАКОЕ меня вообще поразило! Игра заслуживает средний бал минимум 95.     Awesome game, I could feel the decisions made by the characters. There are some parts that are super stressful, but it’s the game intention, the experience is completely worth it.

    It seems to me people who deliberately underestimate the game's rating. Have not even played this game, play it yourself and draw your own conclusions.

    If you have watched the walkthrough of the game on YouTube or Twitch, you will not feel the game.
    It's a very personal and complex story.

    The game is good, it's just not for children.

    Best game I've played all year. Enjoyed every minute of the 25+ hours spent. Nerve wrecking at times, smashing you straight in the face and very realistic. Gameplay improved towards the first game and though different, still a very strong story that makes you think about its outcome (at least if you're not one of those that like to spew hate and score this game before even playing it).

TLOU was my absolute favorite game for the PS3 and I have replayed the Remaster on PS4 numerous times. So when my eldest son (he's 22) told me that this was the absolute worst game he has ever played I found it hard to believe. He wasn't as big of a fan of the first one as me. So I borrowed the disk for Part 2 from him when he finally slogged through it (took him months because as he said "there are so many far better games to occupy my time with".

    The world and graphics are great but they are only slightly better than GoT on my 4k TV. However that is not what makes this game the worst game ever made (my son was completely correct). They took everything that was great about the first game and took a giant **** on it. ND was not, until now a developer known for destroying their franchise games. I could not even continue this game after the 2 hour mark (killing Joel Miller has probably put me off future ND games for good). I deleted this game right after that event and will never take a second look. My son didn't even want the game back and told me to donate it to the local game store.

    Recommended to NO ONE who has fond memories of the first game. I never got passed 2 hours but I can tell this game is CRAP!    … Expand

    Broaden your perspective. This is called The Last of Us, not the Elle and Joel show.
    It seems like everyone who hates this game wanted the Joel and Ellie story again. If that's the case, stick to the first game. Why should Naughty Dog tell the same story again? They kept Joel very much in this game with flashbacks to fill in the time gap between the first and second games. We got to experience Joel and Ellie in this game as well it just wasn't central focus. Naughty Dog forewarned that this story would be about the vicious cycle of revenge and they definitely delivered on that promise. If you can get over Joel's death, which was difficult, you can appreciate the depth and pain of the story Naughty Dog tells through Ellie and Abby. No one can tell me that some of the backlash isn't because Abby is masculine. I've seen plenty of transphobic videos of so-called men moaning about this. I researched her character, Naughty Dog claims she isn't transgendered but even if she is, so what? Does that make her pain any less important than anyone else's? The beauty of writing is that writers can MAKE YOU FEEL a certain way. The only reason why everyone was so heartbroken over Joel is because the writers made us feel that way with their brilliant storytelling from the first Last of Us. But we didn't see the other perspectives. We didn't see the carnage and pain Joel caused with his actions. Stop and think about it for a second. Yes, he loved Ellie. He bonded with her after he thought he had lost his ability to bond with anyone since losing Sarah. And so he made the [selfish] decision FOR HIMSELF to save her. It wasn't for Ellie it was for himself. And he sacrified what was probably best for the world to do it. Both Ellie and Abby lost their fathers and avenged them. They have quite a bit in common as characters. But people don't want to see that because Joel and Ellie achieved pedastal status from the first Last of Us game. To believe that only Joel's pain only Joel's feelings matter, is a very narrow way of looking at things. Had the first Last of Us focused on Abby's story, we would sympathise more with her. When I had to play as her for the second half of the game, I was genuinely curious what led her to carry out her murder of Joel towards the beginning of the game. I really started liking her when she teamed up with Lev and his sister. She cared deeply for that boy and put her life on the line for him. Ellie just got worse and became increasingly hatefilled, angry and foul-mouthed as the game went on. It's refreshing the changeover happened and we get to see a fresh perspective, otherwise this would become a generic revenge game driven by hate an anger.
    What The Last of Us 2 does so well is showcase how the pursuit of vengeance and revenge is never-ending and soul-destroying. Look at what happened to Ellie. She had a chance to move on happily at the Farm House with Dina and JJ. She had a chance to heal. And she chose to leave her family and pursue revenge that in the end she couldn't even carry out. A lot of people also criticise the ending because she couldn't carry out her revenge. Again, people miss the point. The real enemy here is the thought of revenge and how it can consume and destroy everything in your life. Sometimes what we fantasise about in our minds can't be realised when that moment comes. She sees Joel's face and has a moment of realisation finally that killing Abby won't bring Joel back but it would destroy her. So she stops. She finally stops pursuing this poisonous vengeance mission. She sits in the ocean and lets the grieving tears flow. She begins to heal. She has to lose basically everything to find herself again. And here's something else to chew on. Part of Ellie's rage was at herself. We see many flashbacks of Ellie and Joel where she is cold towards him because she is so angry that he lied to her about the hospital and what happened. She hated herself because Joel was taken from her before they could reconcile. In order to avoid hating herself to an unberable degree, she focused her rage on Abby because Abby killed Joel before she could forgive him. I'm sure a lot of Ellie's pain is due to how things were left. When you let revenge take over, it consumes everything good in your life. Killing Abby would have made things worse for her.
    The 1-star reviewers are why we don't get similarly awesome, imaginative, and new ideas in the market. Because people hate it, they can't appreciate it, they cannot cope with new ideas. So producers wouldn't risk losing money and they'll just keep feeding casuals the common stereotypical happy ending type cliches. The Last of Us part 2 is a breath of fresh air. The haters are definitely lacking deep thought.    … Expand

I think their story should have ended with the first game. Even though, i'm really thankful Ellie shows up in the second part, not because of her, but because thanks to her, i've been able to experience the conflict between her and Abby. And here comes my favourite part of the game... Abby. I really felt her and her conflict. Yeah, she's also looking for vengeance and she finally gets it, but she is much more than that and she makes a long journey for redemption. At the final part of the game i felt so bad for playing Ellie and going after Abby to kill her that i almost have prefered Ellie to die.ELLIE. A character i've loved from the moment i saw her. I am very glad that I managed to avoid all spoilers and was able to fall in love with the game in its original form. I was very surprised that the Last of Us tell a story not only about revenge, but also about love, the relationship of fathers and children, a sense of regret. The way Ellie has gone simply cannot be conveyed, as from a small, simple girl who turned into a ruthless military school, to evaluate her own actions due to the fact that, by the way, she loses her family and friends. Abby, on the contrary, from the most bad character, is revealed in a completely different way, she is kind, responsive and very loyal. Her devotion is revealed well that morning when she goes to help young children. And at the end of the game, I didn't want any of the heroines to die… Expand

    The first part of this game is amazing, but on the second i had a feeling that was a terminator without any motivation to do what i do.
    I dont want to play it again because Abby is a useless character and i dont like her story.

    But... the game looks and feels amazing if we are talking about game design, so i played it till the end.
