I can understand that many so-called gamers do not quite agree with the course of the story. However, I do not count myself to such a fanboy and I think Naughty Dog has created a masterpiece here. And I mainly refer to the gameplay and the technical implementation. But they also managed to integrate the player with the story into the game emotionally. What a trip!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

I honestly don't know why the fan base is so negative about this game. It has good graphics, good story, good everything. I'm confused why they hate it so much. Sure it had backlash due to many delays, but I didn't expect it to be this much when the game released.

Per me è 10 pieno. Expand

For me this game checks all the boxes that you could ask for in a videogame. Technically is the most amazing hing i've played, is only followes by a couple of beasts (RDR2 & GOW). In terms of gameplay, the sensation you have is unique, is so powerful when you port a gun, and you even have one of the best stealth gameplays ever. It's obviously like first one, but the slight improvement is enough for me to make this game worth buying only because of its gameplay. The story is a bit of a mess to be honest, it's powerful, and it got moments that are very emotional. The worst thing about the game is that is unncessary long, those 25h could be reduced to at least 20h.

Amazing gameplay coupled with an intense story, beautiful environment, and terrific atmosphere. However, what I got was not what was advertised. I had expected to get another Ellie/Joel adventure based on advertisements, trailers, and general marketing. The early death of Joel was unexpected, but not in the good way. The story I was sold was not the one I was given. It's one thing to create misdirection, it's another to be misleading. That really soured me. Worst of all, ND and other studios catering to such misguided and vile notions just gives them more ammunition to ruin everything for everyone. Books and anime, I believe, are the only untouched media left for me where I can truly enjoy without having hateful and extremist propaganda hammered into every neuron in my body. This game deserves neither the vehement praise it's gotten (same goes for the awards it's won; idk what reviewers are playing these days or who they're catering to) nor the deluge of unreasonable hate.

Aesthetically, the game is astoundingly beautiful. The environments are staggeringly intricate and massive. The dense forest is the best I have witnessed in a video game and it beats SOTR. There were times when I would just stop and look around, taking in those incredible moss-covered buildings or grassy terrains with open skies, and then finally decide to proceed in one direction, only to come back and finish exploring the remaining areas.

Game narrative was extremely powerful for invoking strong emotions in me; however, it did total injustice to Tlou1 characters. That's unforgivable to me. Tlou1 was a powerful, interesting, uplifting and immensely engaging story with compelling characters, set in a believable, brutal world. Unfortunately, for reasons unknown, ND chose to forgo all of that and plunge into utter darkness and insipidity. The central theme of revenge seems really petty and only adds on to the lack of ingenuity in the studio.

The decisions the characters make are hilariously and mind bogglingly irrational, considering the type of world they live in. My playthrough with Abby was very half-hearted, absurd and distasteful. Surprisingly, I found that Abby controlled better, moved better, which was probably a cunning way from the devs to make me like her. The game is filled with unlikable characters like Abby and Dina that serve no purpose. The only likable character was Lev, only added to humanize Abby though. Older Ellie isn’t likable either. Younger Ellie had such a charm and healthy vibe to her it was almost refreshing, but they opted to completely eliminate that and replace her with an unsatisfying and lifeless character that is doomed to be unhappy for the rest of her life.

The level design seems to have improved and is actually good. You can access more areas this time around. Enemy variety and design is pretty much the same though. The only section I truly loved beyond complaint was Ellie’s encounter with the Scars in the park. When it comes to gameplay mechanics and what the game has to offer, ND has never been good. It's basic and at times, clunky gameplay. I never loved their Uncharted games and they were a bore fest, the puzzles insufferably dull. In Tlou2, traversal and exploration, though not bad, are jaded. Besides nice visual updates, combat hasn’t evolved much. However, the stealth gameplay was extremely fun for me. Scavenging for resources during intense combat sessions was exhilarating and strategizing my moves as I attempted my stealthy approach, sometimes getting caught and then fleeing madly to establish cover again was intoxicating. The dodge mechanic doesn’t work like it should, forcing you into an animation you can’t stop and sometimes it doesn’t even work, precisely because of that. Picking up stuff is unbearably slow, to the point where I was infuriated and auto pick up doesn’t alleviate this mind-numbing inclusion. Opening drawers and cupboards—irritating. Shooting just like Uncharted is not good, but tolerable. Certain things I wish could’ve been better were creativity in puzzles. ND was never good at designing good puzzles (that includes the rudimentary puzzles of Uncharted), but I was hoping they’d have grown by now.

This game doesn’t focus on Ellie, instead it focuses on another character that regardless of what ND does to fool us into liking her, deserves no redemption whatsoever. Having Joel tortured and murdered that way and making Abby look like a man makes me wonder if radical feminists weren’t behind this **** Honestly, I never wanted to kill the doctor in the first game, and Abby’s premeditated murder of Joel does not justify her revenge.

So, did I enjoy the game? Not really. I wanted to. I'll clear Tlou2 on grounded for sure someday, since I first played on survivor, but this is a game I’m disinclined to replay, at least for now. By the end, I didn’t care for either Ellie or Abby. I simply wanted the violence and the ‘game’ to end, after having been bludgeoned to death for 40 hours with the highly divisive, revengeful and hateful plot. In a nutshell, although it is much less interesting than Tlou1, I got to play a survival game in a beautiful, post-apocalyptic setting with good stealth.

As a game itself its great like i’ll admit there are alot of good things in this game , the visuals, the ai , the accessibility features , the difficulty, the gameplay . But this game FAILS tremendously when it comes to storyline the revenge plot is garbage and really do not make sense at a post apocalyptic world , you play as joel 5 Min into the game and THEN 1.5 hour in the game HE DIES , he wasn’t on half of the game like it was shown in the trailers (False Advertising) , you get to play as ellie and travel MILES away to seatle just to kill that person who killed our best character, and please don’t get me started on the characters in the game even joel and ellie, ALL characters are soo poorly written its just painful clearly no personality at all , all have the personality of a wet handkerchief . All the characters are bad , i mean there are characters who are forgiving like jesse who is a really cool character aaaaaand thats it . Anyways when ellie travels to Seattle she kill abbys friends who participated in the torture of joel and then we switch back to abby so they keep on bringing flashbacks just so we could give a **** about her and care ,well we dont care about abby in the slightest, she was introduced in the game poorly she has zero morals and pretty much a hypocrite.basically killing everyone who lend a hand on her friend lev but kills joel who would literally do the sa,e for ellie and protect her at all costs ,after the boring ****ty abby scenario filled with plot holes , you see your friends dead and then you find a map on the floor which ellie dropped after killing both owen and that pregnant **** that wasn’t supposed to be at a combat mission to begin with but yeah WOMEN STRONK , anyways she drops the map on the floor like the idiot she is and abby find out they live at the theaters , abby almost kills tommy kills jesse almost kills dina and ellie ......
After several boring stuff later , you play as ellie at the ending trying to kill abby but she literally lets her go after killing 150+ innocent people , traveling miles and risking relationship . After she arrived at the house her gf left her she lost two fingers and she **** off back at the forest with no one caring about her anymore .... and abby visits the catalina house or whatever the hell it is amd we def know what she’s doing there basically having fun with her friends and drinking and eating meanwhile ellie scraping street concrete for food and looking for a friend , the story was a complete mess but there was some fun moments. Unfortunately there was too little fun moments that i can’t even mention but most of them were puzzles that are kinda good and boring at the same time .
    Story is a straight 3/10
But the mechanics alone pushed it higher imo

    The full verdict is 5/10
The game franchise is famous cuz of its story and characters where in this game it failed .

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Video games, over the years, have acquired a reputation of being a distraction for children. Or a meaningless gorefest of bland military ops killing Germans or zombies. And as a 14-year-old, I see where the stereotype comes from, at school, all I hear about is Call of Duty and that is about it. From now on, anyone who plays nothing but COD, or thinks that videogames can never truly immerse someone into a world as well as a book or film, and can never make the player feel an emotion. I will show them this and the first game.

Seconds ago, the credits rolled on my playthrough of this game. After a wipe of my eyes and a deep breath out, I grabbed my laptop to write this review. These are my raw thoughts and emotions towards this game. I will talk about the controversy at the end.

Starting off, this game has by far the best acting and the best writing that I have ever seen in a game, with no competition. This game felt real, I was in Ellie's shoes, and I was in Abby's shoes. Now for the story, Naughty Dog had some guts with this one, and I know for a fact that they knew people weren't going to like it. But isn't that the point? This game makes you do things you know are wrong and makes you suffer.

The story is brutal in the best way possible and teaches a much-needed lesson of forgiveness and highlights that the main character isn't always a good person. The main character of a game isn't always doing the right thing. The antagonist of a game isn't always a bad person. The story also shows that Ellie and Joel, the characters that fans of the series have come to know and love over 7 years, are not good people. And the main quality that is outlined is selfishness. Joel caused the death of millions because he had grown attached to Ellie and prevented the production of a vaccine that would have killed her. Ellie left her home, her friends, and also her partner with a baby. She left all of this behind because she wanted revenge. These people are not beloved character's and they are not good people. But neither is Abby, in fact, nobody in this story is a good person. In the world they live in, nobody would be. All these characters care about is the friends and family they have. If anyone is going to hurt them, they will hurt back, even if it is not justified. If the cordyceps pandemic were to happen in real life, if we were living in a post-apocalyptic world where there are basically no rules, I imagine it would be just like this game. I imagine there would be mini civilizations, I imagine there will be crazy terrorist cults in wars against factions of good people trying to bring life back to what it used to be. And for going all out in showing this, no matter how disturbing and brutally upsetting this may be, I give a huge amount of respect to Naughty dog, they pulled it off flawlessly.

I played this game for a first time Last of Us marathon. After luckily securing a PS5 at launch I downloaded the remaster of the first game from PS+ alongside my collection of PS5 games. I slowly played through it, finishing the story just over a week before getting this one. The reason I'm saying this is because the leap in graphics and gameplay was huge. Getting graphics out of the way quickly. I thought the first game looked beautiful and this one blew me away. The environment that this game puts you in as well is also stunning, the action setpieces really took advantage of the new tools that the studio had gathered since the first game. My favourite was when Abby and Lev were trying to escape the Seraphites island during a conflict with the WLF. Seeing the island slowly burn down and seeing the people fighting gave me chills. Another highlight was Ellie's first encounter with the Seraphites.

The gameplay in this one felt like a huge improvement over the first as well. This is the most refined that The Last of Us has ever felt and I loved it. The mix between puzzles, exploration, and stealth encounters is well balanced and I never got tired of any of them. The mix between humans and infected was also pretty even which I am grateful for. I was never bored with the gameplay and the interactions between characters during the gameplay kept me invested in the story.

Now, the controversy. I think the main people who didn't like where the story went were long time fans. They loved Joel too much and were so filled with rage that he had died only a couple of hours in that Abby had to die. They felt that after the cliffhanger, the game had grinded to a halt to try and make them care about Abby. I'm accusing long time fans because as a new player of these games I didn't care as much about Joel and Ellie as they would. I still cared, but I didn't have 7 years to obsess over them. This is why I cared about Abby as much as I did for Ellie. As soon as I got to know her and her friends, I immediately felt guilty for killing her friends. I had an open mind for Abby. This is what Naughty Dog wanted. And they nailed it.

The problem is the gameplay: There’s been absolutely zero evolution in the seven years since the original was released. TLOU at least had some fun and occasional joy. Aside from one section (in the museum) TLOU2 is a joyless monotonous slog. Frankly, even the museum section would have worked just as well if it were one long cutscene, since the only ‘gameplay’ consists of navigating between cutscenes.

So how do you grade a game where the gameplay is the worst part? Well, if you decide it’s a piece of art making a point about the brutal, repetitive, monotonous cycle of violence, then I guess you can give it a high score. Personally, I think they’d have been better off making the film they so clearly would have preferred to make.
    I gave it a 6.

As it turned out, not for everyone

The first part of the last of us for many, as for me, is an indisputable masterpiece, since there is simply nothing like it anymore. She set a new bar for the quality of the story of heroes and their relationships. The second part was already created with an eye on the first, and the main task was to make the game at least not worse. And in my opinion, the developers coped with this task very well, presenting a masterpiece game in terms of the character of the heroes, internal conflicts, ambiguous actions and "gray" morality, which is almost maximized.

The gameplay since the first part, in my opinion, has practically not changed. The second part strongly parasitizes on the old, not offering anything new, except for some points. Here it is appropriate to make a comparison with a series of games from the same studio - Uncharted. Uncharted 4 came out 5 years after the previous part, and there the gameplay along with the graphics made a qualitative leap forward, giving the player a new experience and great pleasure from the gameplay. New interesting features were added, the existing ones were improved and reworked. By the way, the plot and characters of the characters have also been greatly improved and complicated. Here, a whole 7 years have passed since the release of the first part, and so little has changed: the game most of the time takes place in the same places as in the first part (abandoned buildings, overgrown streets, etc.); the same principle of fighting the infected and the soldiers; the pumping of the hero and weapons has not really changed; there is only one new type of infected, which is rather boring; practically no new game features, such as the rumor, which has not been reworked since the first part, etc. Yes, graphics, detailing, physics of the surrounding world have improved. For example, parts of the body fly very nicely after shots or how snow falls from branches when you touch them, etc. In some places, the game fascinates with beautiful views and landscapes, but all this will quickly flicker, since most of the events take place in closed, darkened locations, where all the graphics capabilities are not particularly used.

Of course, there is some novelty and improvements, but, in my opinion, over 7 years of work this is monstrously little, especially against the background of "Uncharted". It's all about the sensations. Personally, I did not feel a qualitatively different experience from the gameplay. Everything is as we remember from the first part. I don’t know, maybe it’s partly good that the game is “true to itself”, and many players were waiting for this, but personally for me it is a small, but still a minus, as I expected more.

But, as already mentioned, the last of us is first of all a story, and then a game. The first thing I thought after going through the second part: why people, having such material on their hands, did not go to shoot a TV series or a film, because the depth of everything that happens goes beyond blockbuster games. Ellie and Joel's story stands out from a number of other games that have a similar genre. Most games don't even come close to the last of us, because the plot, however good it is, is only a means of providing gameplay possibilities. Here, as I see it, the first task of the creators was to make history.

And the last of us 2 is a logical continuation of this story, which reveals the drama of the previous part from the other side, giving it even more depth. "Ambiguity" - this word can be used to describe the whole game. It manifests itself not only in the characters of the characters, but in everything that happens. Each character faces a difficult choice, makes it, and then carries this burden of responsibility and consequences until the very end.Someone may not like this, since the game does not prioritize "good" and "bad", it just shows the tragedy of living people who find themselves in a harsh reality. The drama increases with the passage of time, as if along a parabola, reaches its peak and then collapses in the form of final credits, leaving in a little confusion and in the desire to comprehend what he saw. This is facilitated by the excellent atmosphere of the post-apocalyptic world, in which only emptiness, hopelessness and cruelty remained.

The result. It's a shame to watch how so many people are trying to artificially drop the rating, giving the marks "0" or "1". It is clear that most of this hate is a response to what is happening around the game: plot leaks, controversial LGBT topics, unreasonably high ratings from professional critics, etc. But this is also unjustified expectations, since many even before the release of the game decided how they would like to see the sequel. And there is a difference between a really bad story and a story that is not what you wanted to see. Personally, I believe that the creators coped with the chosen vector of development of history with dignity.

Potentially some of the greatest gameplay on the ps4 with amazing encounters is ruined by forcing you to play the comically beefed up enemy Abby for half the game.
I know the writers were going for a Jamie Lannister-style turnaround, but it doesn't work, you still want her dead and I ended up rushing through this part of the game to get back to being Ellie, even though there were some really cool set pieces as Abby. Did they even do any honest user testing? The ending was also very unsatisfactory and made the whole final journey pointless. Potentially the greatest game of this console let down by writing trying to be too clever. Only bit I enjoyed in second half of game was launching Abby off buildings/ losing to Ellie on purpose in their theatre showdown.

The main issue I had with this game is the script, the story is written terribly, one of the main reasons why is because Joel (Protagonist in Part 1) is killed off in the first few hours of the game and I can understand why people did not like that. Joel getting killed off is not the main issue, the main issue is about 10-13 hours into the game you play the character Abby (The husky lady who killed Joel with a golf club) and that was not a smart move to play. You could have created many better outcomes for this game but you didn't. One of the other things people might not like about it is that it takes risk, and by risk I mean that it dares to be depressing and I think that this game is pretty good. This game has one of the most depressing ending I have ever seen in my life. The message is trying to say is that heroes don't always get the death they deserve, what addiction can lead to, and in this world their is no good and bad only people doing what they think is right. Gameplay 10/10, Story 6/10, characters 3/10 Art direction 10/10, dialogue 7/10. This game is a 7.4/10. Expand

That said, in terms of overall presentation, atmosphere, visual art, soundtrack, acting, animation and motion capturing, level design, overal technical execution, there simply is no better game on PS4 at the moment. It's beyond excellent in all of these aspects, truly top of it's class.
The story though is just horrible and for a story driven game that's a death sentence.
I'm also having a hard time to only blame Neil Druckmann. Everyone has bad ideas sometimes. But why did nobody stop him? Why didn't he get honest feedback from people? What happened here? I'm one of the people who only bought a PS4 because I wanted to play his fantastic Uncharted series and Last of us on it. And I honestly love the introduction of a transgender character, that was long overdue. I'm quite certain a majority of disappointed fans also don't even give a damn about Ellie's sexual orientation, it's 2020, so who cares?? But for hours I felt like I was playing a game that I just didn't want to. For me, probably the worst decision was to put a mid-game cliffhanger in and then forcing the player to play with a new character hours on end. I didn't want to play Abby, though she was kinda cool and interesting. But I bought this game for Joel and Ellie, not for some vain personal storywriting experiment like the The Last Jedi. In both cases, the experiment has failed.

It's hard to really define where I fall on this game. On one hand, the gameplay is pretty good. The stealth isn't so merciful that if you're discovered you can't get back into stealth to try and finish your enemies off sneakily, and enemy AI feels dynamic and smart.

That said, the gameplay doesn't evolve beyond the first chapter - sure there are upgrades, but they're minimal and don't change gameplay much. Generally, the game is too long, twice as long as it needs to be - and that's not that I'm against switching perspective half way through, I just think that each half should have been half the length, maybe even shorter.

Through most of the game I found myself dissapointed that I had gameplay to go through, I genuinely think it would have made a better short TV series than a game. With that said again, the character motivations throughout feel forced and unbelievable - particularly with each character flip-flopping towards the end.

The boss fights also weren't great - at least not the ones against humans. Melee doesn't feel good in this game, and the bit where you're Abby chasing Ellie felt disconnected to the rest of the gameplay.

Also a shame they got rid of Joel, as the only character relationship I really gave a **** about was between him and Ellie, all the other characters have rubbish chemistry and awful dialogue.

It stayed with me when not playing it perhaps more than any game before it (besides CoD when I was a teenager...).

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us Part 2 is a well hated game by fans, and going into it, I didn't expect to have a lot of fun. I had heard so many terrible things, but was pleasantly surprised to find that most of the fans **** about the game were doing so because they didn't get what they wanted.

Graphically, TLoU2 looks beautiful. It shows off the maximum effort the PS4 can put out. The detail in the world is gritty and breathtaking, depressing and beautiful. Truly something special.

The story of TLoU2 took a beating by fans, but isn't bad by any stretch. Gritty realism has always been the tune Naughty Dog wanted to play with these games, and here they played it beautifully. In the beginning of the game, you meet the main character just after having a conflict with the man who serves as her father figure. The last moments they share together are harsh and angry. Ellie resents Joel for treating her like she needs to be protected, and Joel is struggling to let her be an adult after spending so much time needing to protect her.
Later, we find out Joel is missing, and when Ellie finds him, he is being brutally tortured to death. Naughty Dog pulled no punches, and forces you to watch in horror as the first game's protagonist is brutally beaten to death with a golf club as Ellie watches while screaming and crying. It made me drop my controller in shock. I had to pause the game and take a break when it was over. It was the most violent, disgusting, sad thing I had ever seen in a video game. Shortly before this scene, the game had you playing as Abby, the woman who eventually tricks and murders Joel.
Throughout the game, you continue to switch between Abby and Ellie, learning more about Abby's story and motivations for killing Joel (which I wont spoil here). Your anger towards her wanes, and you sympathize with all she's been through with her friends.
This part of the game is controversial, but I think added a layer that was not just refreshing, but a driving force for me. I wanted to keep playing so I could bring the two characters together for a final confrontation.

The end of the game sees Ellie track down a tired and beaten Abby. Abby has been captured by slavers and starved. She's been tortured, and weakened. She is in a state not unlike that of Joel's shortly before he died. Ellie finds her, and sees that she's been on her own journey. She's suffered like Ellie has, she's fought to protect people as Ellie has, she's survived in the same world and felt the same fears as Ellie has.
Ellie realizes, finally, that she has become the exact thing that her journey with Joel had saved him from. When Ellie and Joel meet in The Last of Us, Joel is a hardened survivor, uncaring and apathetic towards the plight of others. He's violent, an unashamed killer, and a gritty survivor. Protecting Ellie and traveling with her softened him. It gave him a new perspective, and a new appreciation for others. He loved her, and that love made him human again. She saved him.
Ellie's anger towards Abby has made her the very thing Joel spent years rehabilitating himself from. Joel had spent a long time after completing his journey with Ellie becoming an artist, teaching people guitar, farming, and being a part of a community. Ellie has spent all her time after his death running from all of that. She has become the very thing that Joel had fought to get away from, and in her last moments with Abby, she shows mercy. She knew that Joel did all of those things for her. He tempered his anger, his rage, his apathy, his instinct, for her. To give her a role model. To make her proud. So to honor his transformation, she does what he learned to do. She let go of the past and let Abby live.
It's beautiful, the more you think about it, but not the ending fans wanted.

What most fans didn't like about the game was the characters. Ellie is openly a lesbian, and in a relationship with a woman through the majority of the game. Ellie is a female protagonist, which some fans also didn't like. They wanted to play as Joel again. There was a transgender character, which some fans felt was too political.
I personally enjoyed and celebrate all of these choices. Diversity exists in the real world, and should be represented in our media as well. These characters and their identities are written extremely well and serve the plot well.

The gameplay of TLoU2 is amazing. The combat is tense, fun, and very addictive. I had fun replaying different combat scenarios, trying to outfox all the enemies so none of them even knew I was there before it was too late. The layout of the environments adds to a sense of urgency, practicality, curiosity, and cleverness that the game wants to draw out of the player. The amount of polish in the gameplay is purely unparalleled.

Overall, The Last of Us Part 2 is controversial, but nowhere near bad. It's an intense, fun game that overwhelms you in the best way possible.

Apart from the repetitive combat scenes and long loot sessions, the game is incredible. It's a rollercoaster of emotions and the ending hides multiple valuable messages. Mid game I had doubts about Naughty Dog's choices, but they did the character development right to make the end work. What a masterpiece!

One of the best games of all time. In terms of gameplay and graphics, if someone give negative reviews its purely based on emotional BS. Yes, the story could be better written, but that bunch of kids rating the game zero should be playing Fortnite instead. LoU2 its a masterpiece.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is not perfect, and by no means a masterpiece. There are a number of problems with this game, like the long level designs that can be somewhat repetitive at times, and Abbys part of the story. But even with these problems, and a couple more along the way, I loved this game. Now let me get this straight, when I say I have a problem with the Abby part of the story, it’s not for the reason that I’ve seen many people have. Naughty Dog made a risky move in trying to make the player play as the villain for the second half of the game, and honestly, I felt like they did a great job on it. I found myself accepting and understanding abbys side better, some say the game was trying to manipulate the player, but ALL games do that. I liked abbys story, but my problem was that the story did not correlate with the first half of the game. Everything that happened with lev and Lara was good and interesting, but it doesn’t have anything to do with Ellie’s part of the story. Abbys side is mostly about the Scars until the end when Abby sees her friends dead. And while I don’t have a problem with Abby or her story, it would have been better if they connected the sides better, so you could see abbys reactions from the things Ellie did, and visa versa. Other then that, I loved the game. The gameplay was a 9/10, the graphics were a 10/10, the music 8/10, the characters 8/10, and the story, the most hated part of the game was a solid 9/10. One of the main reasons people hate the story is the death of Joel at the beginning. I got that part spoiled for me and was still shocked when and how it happened. One person said the death was unmemorable, but I don’t think I’d ever forget it. The performance from the actors, especially Ellie, really sold the whole thing. It was bloody, and messy, and traumatizing, but it sparked the whole drive of the story. It made you want to go after Abby and kill her. It was such a strong and powerful death in a game, and while I miss Joel, and loved him in the first game, the sequel would not be as powerful without the death. Oh and the whole guitar scenes were very emotional for me. Like, at the end of the game she can’t play anymore, she can’t do the one last thing that connected her To Joel. I was kinda crushed. But anyways, the game is very deep and has a lot of layers. The story isn’t as simple as “revenge bad” or forgiveness, because that’s just what’s in the surface. I’d love to be able to explain it better to anyone who reads this, but honestly, watch “the last of us part ll is a perfect sequel” by Nathan Zed, because it explains it perfectly. I understand certain reasons on why people don’t like this game, but all in all I wasn’t disappointed. I even liked the sequel better then the original. Also, if you got time, watch the two videos about the last of us part ll by videogamedunky, because there just great. I loved this game, the action the romance (which even if your homophobic you can’t deny that the relationship between Ellie and Dina was great) and the story were amazing. Expand

An absolute masterpiece. This game is extremely well written, well executed and fun to play. While the story is gut wrenching and bold, it makes for a gaming experience like none other.

Fine, here i go. You won't be reading anything you haven't read before. In short? This game is great, for me at least.

    Now why exactly.

Gameplay. This is gonna be short, you know, everyone, even the bad reviews writes that it's good, and it is. It's almost perfect. No doubts.

Story. That's where things get hard to explain. You either love it or hate it. I will get stoned for this, but if you look at it closely enough, it have the same spirit as Tlou, because in the end main character gets saved, in some way. Joel by saving Ellie, and Ellie by letting Abby go. This time it's just bit darker than some could handle. But that's alright. Even i didn't like some parts of this ride.

Characters. Everyone stayed in the way they were written. Some may say that Joel was out of character when he told WLF his name. But it was the situation that made him do it. Some may say Ellie was out of character when she yelled at Joel, or when she let her biggest enemy go. She wasn't. Right from the start we knew we need to expect this from her. And she slowly needed to realise that she needs to change.

To summarise it once again, this game is piece of art, something we all should try at least once. The story is more complicated and so is the world you are exploring. You shouldn't expect anything you fly through happily. But rather something you slowly sink into. And when you get into the right depth you realise it's something much bigger, than just death and revenge. It's okay even if you don't like it afterwards.

(Thanks for reading, hope i helped you make up your mind, also take my apologies for my bad English. Have good rest of your day! )

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Perhaps Druckmann is an artist of metafiction-- the player is supposed to love the story of Part 1 and hate that of Part 2.

    Parts that I liked:
    -Chasing Nora and killing her
-Tommy hunting Abby and Manny like The Terminator

The inconsistent and inauthentic writing of the characters, making frustrating decisions, in this game is really what really spoils the story's ability to captivate the player. Tragically, everything else about this game (graphics, music, acting, animations) is fantastic, but the issues with the story are hard to avoid especially considering that this was why the first game was so successful.

It's the best game (masterpiece) in the world because it's QUALITY. I will not speak personally. The guys worked out the story very well. They explained very well what they wanted to tell. There is no need to talk about the gameplay and graphics part, in one word, PERFECT. After playing tlou2, I entered Days Gone and felt like a robot.
(think like that and give points like that, don't

Truly terrific game that had my emotions in a spin the entire time. Storytelling was beautiful however not a full 10 as I think it could have been shorter. Gameplay evolves throughout but the stealth kills do get a bit repetitive after a while.

It's the greatest game I have ever played. The plot is incredible, this story makes me feel great range of emotions: emotional state and attitude to the characters have been changing for few times during passing LOU2.
Maybe this franchise could be considered to be the best of PS exclusives. I strongly recommend get such great experience as I by passing this game.

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
