    I'll start by saying the gameplay and graphics are really good, but that doesn't make up for the horrible story in a story focused game. They ruin everything you loved about the first game by adding unlikable characters and a horrible plot, that doesnt get resolved at the end.     look compare it to the first part of game the game should be rated 0 but when i try to look at it in another way like it not a sequels of the first game the game kinda sucks the sexuality in this game not necessary at all but even the story line is boring Af and **** the game lose a lot of things and the game play kinda outdated in the end waste for time and money

    I didn't have any expectations going into this game and I avoided spoilers like the plague. The excessively high scores this game was given were kind of alarming, but I didn't let it effect my perception.

    First: the gameplay.

    The entire first eight or so hours of this game are a slog. There is no way to sugarcoat it. In the first four hours of the game, there is an extremely minor amount of gameplay that isn't exploring a lifeless town. Each actual gameplay encounter is shortlived -- maybe you'll kill a small handful of infected, but that's it. The areas you "explore" aren't interesting enough to warrant how much time is spent doing nothing. The notes you find aren't piecing together any cool story. It's just roaming around collecting supplies and doing prompts.

    After that first eight hours, the pacing does pick up to TLOU 1 levels of gameplay. There is more combat, but it's nothing I haven't already done in the first game. Nothing is improved upon or expanded. If anything, the combat has been made even easier so that it takes a back seat to the story. I wish there was more to talk about in terms of gameplay, but there is such a severe lack of it that I can't scrape up anything more to say. It's on par with the first game, but with much less of it. I can't stress how little time you spend doing anything but walking around in empty areas. It is extremely and relentlessly boring.

    Second, and my main gripe: the story.

    Ignoring that Joel was swapped out with Jesse in an effort to deceive people, the fact that he has such a small role in the game and is killed off so early is easily one of the game's biggest faults. When Ellie and Dina set out on their journey to avenge him, it's just so incredibly boring. While you slowly jog around collecting supplies and doing prompts for hours on end, the only entertainment you're provided with is conversation. Their interactions are as lifeless as the environments. I was trying to think of why I was falling asleep this time around when the first game had plenty of moments where you're simply navigating an area and moving ladders -- then a flashback happens and it all came together.

    The flashback sequence is Joel taking Ellie out on her birthday when she was younger. Their chemistry was an immediate adrenaline shot of joy. I had forgotten what made the first game so endearing and that was the two main characters. This sequence is far and away one of the best parts of the game for me and the contrast between Ellie and Dina compared to Ellie and Joel is stark.

    I've got no qualm with characters being killed off. If Joel was going to die, fine. My problem stems from what purpose it served, which was.. well, I'm still not sure. The bulk of the game is spent killing everyone that was in the room when Joel was killed. Ellie tortures a woman for information and kills a pregnant woman. Despite all of this, Abby spares Ellie during their confrontation due to her new friend Lev even though Abby had spent so much time tracking down the man that killed her father. She spared Ellie when she killed Joel and then for some reason spared her again even though Ellie had killed all of her friends. It's just hard to believe.

    The larger issue at hand with Abby and Ellie is how after they finally meet and Abby spares Ellie, Ellie can't let it go. Ellie tracks her down and kills her way to a captive Abby, who she frees along with Lev. They make their way to some boats and in a twist, Ellie just can't let Abby leave. She forces Abby into a fight by holding a knife to Lev's throat. Ellie pretty much destroys her and is in the process of drowning her until an image of Joel flickers in her mind. For some reason, she decided, "no, I won't kill this person. I have killed everyone else who did not actually kill Joel, but I will not kill the person who bashed his head in." She doesn't kill Abby in the end, despite her having murdered Jesse, Joel, attempting to kill pregnant Dina, shooting Tommy's eye out, and biting off two of Ellie's fingers in their fight. Sure, Naughty Dog.

    I thought they would go against the cliche of revenge not being worth it in the end, and for a moment they almost did. It was exciting that Ellie was going to just end it after so many grueling, unsatisfying hours. But then she just doesn't. What a game.

    tl;dr

    Pros
    -Graphics: sure.
    -Gameplay: it's literally the first game again.
    -I did enjoy getting to know Abby. It's a shame almost everything surrounding her is terrible.

    Cons
    -Playtime is heavily padded. A ton of this game simply doesn't have to be there.
    -The story and resolution of this story are so incredibly not interesting that I have no choice but to question Troy Baker's taste since he praised the script.
    -The characters are largely one-dimensional and are kind of all over the place. Nobody has clear motivations unless it revolves around revenge.

    Naughty Dog, stop trying to follow the orders of minorities because you are making total crap of your game. You could make an awesome game, but you ruined everything. The only good thing i see is the reference to the first part of The Last Of Us. That's why i give this game 2 but not 0.

    Phenomenal Graphics. Probably the best on PS4 ever. The gameplay is slightly improved from the original. The character animations during combat/movement are outstanding. Very high quality.     The bad:

    The story is terrible. Poorly written characters with actions that feel very unnatural and forced. This is a story rife with political pandering and political ideology which is not inherently bad...but so very poorly handled here. A real fall in quality from the first game. I found the end to be deeply unsatisfying-it made the entire experience feel pointless.

    I must mention the blatantly misleading marketing before release which implied and inferred that certain characters are a much larger part of the plot than ended up being true.

    The Last of Us Part 2 is a brutal, vapid, overwrought experience offering no insights or lessons beyond "revenge is bad". But what did that lesson cost us? Everything.    … Expand

    As much as I want to enjoy the game, it's only redeeming qualities are the graphics and some music. The rest of the game is straight trash, especially the story being the worst I have ever seen in any medium. Do not buy it.

    The narrative is poor, conversations between characters are really boring, and the plot / idea looks like was taken from Metal Gear Solid 2... But worst.

    Graphics are strange, in some areas of the game are good, in other areas looks creepy, is a disaster.

    The videogames press are STRONGLY bribed putting incredibles scores to this mediocre game.

    Beautiful game with a powerfully dark story! It’s had its highs and it’s lows but the highs were equal if not better than the first game and the lows were minimal. I usually don’t go with critic reviews over user reviews but in this case the users score is far off.

    I am totally disappointed, they disrespected one of the characters most loved by me and the fans. HE WAS THE SOUL of this franchise. The gameplay is good, but the story is terribly poorly executed. I feel ripped off and like I've been slapped in the face. Sorry but I would call it one of the disappointments of the year.

    1 point just because the gameplay and visuals are good (very similar to Uncharted 4). The story has nothing to do with the story of the first one, don't expect to have Joel and the Ellie we know, and everything was done like this because a political agenda. If you like stupid violence, a nonsense plot and stupid characters this is your game

    I loved The Last of Us. Joel was a heroic and compelling character. The weight of what he had to deal with and how he took on a surrogate child was a great story.
    I am not enjoying The Last of Us 2 at ALL!. It's slow. The characters are unlikable and the hero is a brutally, murderous, lesbian, psychopath. I don't feel heroic playing as her at ALL! This is a world that would be better off    I loved The Last of Us. Joel was a heroic and compelling character. The weight of what he had to deal with and how he took on a surrogate child was a great story.

    I am personally not a fan of Naughty Dog's style when it comes to their action titles, but they do however present beautiful environments, believable worlds, and some likeable characters. The Last of Us 2 fails to present anything positive; dull gameplay, an uninteresting story, and unlikable characters, all of which make for a truly disappointing experience.

    The graphics are good but it wouldve just been better as a movie, the visuals is literally the only good part about it. The forced story takes you out and with this game being mostly cutscenes it leaves little to the imagination

Como um telespectador da primeira parte, The Last of Us terminou no ponto em que Ellie disse "ok". Esta parte é apenas um spin-off e nem chega perto da primeira parte em termos de história. O jogo é belo em nível de design, som e fidelidade gráfica, o que era esperado depois de todos que esses anos. Mas Druckmann precisa deixar o ND se a Sony quiser que esse estúdio continue.     Just give the game of chance. Is it as good as part 1? Surely not. But it is yet a fantastic game. Everybody knows movie sequels, where the story goes in another direction as hoped. Many of them are great movies, although or maybe even because you expect something different.
    You simply should not miss this game just because of other voices.

    First I got to give my respect to the team who put a lot of crunch time on the graphics, animations,gameplay mechanics,sound and voice acting.Thank you for your efforts and attention to detail.     Boring, repitive, linear. The characterisation is foreced and story is not engaging. Gameplay is the same as part 1 with some nuances. Everyone just seems angry. You can hear the conversation at the first production meeting. "Same again only more woke so we win the awards" It gets a 1 because its pretty and another 1 beacuse the mechanics are fun for a while at the start.

    Despite the outstanding gameplay and graphics, this game was made for snowflackes SJW's.
    Naughty Dog forced us to pay attention in the LGBT/ Gender Ideology themes than make a good story.
    The ending is also a lame and wrong way to finish the playthrough.

    the dumbest writing i have ever seen in a game. if you want to see a she-hulk bash joels head in with a golf club 2 hours in then continue to kill Ellie's loved ones over a grueling boring and depressing game then go ahead. the ending makes absolutely no sense and just shows how bad neil druckman is as a writer.

I didn’t completely lose faith in the game though, as I was hoping the scenes would be alternate scenes than what actually happens, I was wrong. The characters we loved so much in the first game turn into stupid, reckless, uninteresting counterparts. From Joel and Tommy literally telling the enemy where their camp is located to being so oblivious that they let their guard down, leading to Joel’s death. What ever happened to the Joel that would drive full speed into a crying, helpless dude who turned out to be an enemy?? The new characters are as bland as they are forced, meaning the “sjw” trend of having a trans character and Abby who is somehow bigger than every dude in the game. Naughty Dog has successfully checked the box on diversity and pushing of their own agenda rather than create a fun and powerful story that worthy of the original characters. Combat and graphics aren’t enough for me to even give this game any credit because most of the time your just dreading going on. For all the people who say “you havnt even finished the game yet” or people like Neil Druckman and his team who try to fool you by declaring it’s something you need to experience yourself, don’t believe the lies. They just want your money to back up the progressive, lazy, **** writing this game as all about. This is the worst game I’ve ever seen, and it’s a shame how far todays writers and content creators have fallen to where they think being diverse is essential and keep shoving that **** down our throats at the expense of the characters we actually like.… Expand

Saw the spoilers when it got leaked and now seeing the game with my own eyes it angers me the amount of crap in it (the new characters are awful,bad writing decisions and too PC). And the gameplay is nothing special, any other third person shooter has done better than this.     No matter what these other people are saying this game is great!!! Was I disappointed in some of the story...yes. But not because it was bad, but because it didn't go the direction I wanted. The gameplay, the story, the graphics......all are great. It was worth the wait!! I enjoyed every single minute of The Last of Us 2

    The music is great

    The first few hours of gameplay are fun, but the other 3/4 of the game gets repetitive and boring (also the ia of the enemies is not so good)

    Characters (almost all of them) are plain, with stupid motivations ,have no development and you do not get to empathize with them (spoiler: the second half of the game you play as abby, a character taken out of the ass with a **** backstory that almost at the beginning of the game kills one of the most beloved characters in the franchise, Joel. I don't understand how the hell the creators of this game expect us to empathize with this character)

    And the most important thing in the game, the Plot ... is pure bull****, that plot that made the first game so good is totally screwed up with a cliche story of revenge, it has lazy writing, it's full of plotholes , the events happen for no apparent reason (spoiler, at the end of the game ellie is about to kill abby but out of nowhere she has a change of heart and decides not to kill her, despite the fact that throughout the game she has killed hundreds of people she decides not to kill the murderer of her father figure) and the outcome is ****

    Wonderful two-sided storytelling for both of Heroes and villains showing their consequences for the actions of both. Story devastated my heart and made me want to kill them all. But, yet by the end of it i grew and felt stronger and more mature after it.
    The game play was beautiful and the environments stood out. Congrats Naughty Dog
