When the developers talked about this game in the beginning, it was going to be about Joel and Ellie and their journey. What they meant by that was Joel has a horrid death and dies by an SJW garbage character named Abbie. The female characters in this game look very masculine and Abbie looks like a a steroid abusing bodybuilder with a head and voice of a female. Not to mention, the sex scene in this game just tops it all off with why you shouldn’t purchase this game. For gods sake, I was expecting there to be buttons to press during the scene. ‘X’ to thrust and ‘O’ to pull out. They ruined this game with the god awful plot.… Expand

    story trash. Conbat and gameplay overall is good. Not enough ways to do a mission like other games give you. Just two thing kill or wait forever to let people go by. No set up for traps or other ways to kill enemy or anything

    I've played the first game and I have to say they really messed this game up bad. The level design is fine but Naughty Dog ruined our favorite characters.

    They took a universe that people fell in love with thanks to the characters and their relationships, and just decided to make a sequel that relies on shock value to keep the player going on with the game, rather than simply telling a good story. They butchered everything that got built in the past 7 years by a very passionate community just to subvert their expectations and get those few moments of shock, at the cost of murdering something so beloved by many. But on top of being so offensively unkind to long time fans, the game is also littered with awful writing, character interactions that make zero sense for a human, and honestly very boring sections of gameplay. When it comes to the "sjw" controversies, I believe that most people would agree in saying that representing LGBT+ people in a videogame isn't a problem (and also nothing new, if you played the first game). The real issue emerges when you do that, and use it as a scapegoat for all criticism, every negative opinion gets pushed aside without even thinking about it because "they're just mad about the lgbt characters".

    Technically speaking this game looks and sounds fantastic, among the very best I've ever witnessed on a console. But all of that hard work gets completely ruined by some truly awful decision making by the writers of the story. And since this game isn't self contained, it sadly manages to affect my memories of the first game, which I have loved dearly since 2013.

    Everybody, new fans, long time fans, should absolutely avoid this game because it will only affect you negatively and I really wish I could've known this before buying it.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Honestly, I don't even know where to start with this game. I guess I understand why teh critics praised this game in the first place, and now you have people behaving furiously and leaving a negative review for a good reason.
    People are mad because what they've done with the story in this sequel. If this was a new IP, if this had nothing to do with The last of us in general, I think people might love this game for its interesting approach and never-seen-before content, I'd say now.
    But since this is a direct sequel to one of the, if not the best video-game of all time, or shall I just say "masterpiece" of a game, then you need to understand why thousand and thousand of people are extremely disappointed. Upset. Sad, even depressive.
    The graphics, the deep details, the environments, the cutscenes, everything looks top notch. Top quality. It seriously doesn't get any better than this.
    I think Naughty Dog has done a marvelous job regarding this job, my hat goes off to them, but it doesn't mean anything if the story is really, really bad which it is. Sadly it is. It's so bad it actually makes Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 looks like it's Ocarina of Time. It's just how bad the plot, the packing is. And this constantly switching to characters and the flashback scenes between Ellie and Joel.
    There's this one scene when Joel surprises Ellie for her birthday, where he took her to a Dinosaur museum. Just imagine how absolutely astonishing this sequel would've been if the focus was on Ellie and Joel with a whole different story.
    I don't mind Abby being there, what I do mind is ND pushing their political agenda in this game.
    If you loved The Last Jedi, Game of Thrones season 8, there's a big chance that you're going to appreciate this game.
    However, if you loved everything about the first The last of us, then there is no chance you are going to love, let even alone to "like" this game at all. Unless you buy everything ND related, then that's your own choice.
    However, I'm giving this game a 2 out of 10 just because of the beautiful graphics.
    The rest is just a sad, depressing, dark world of a video-game where it's forcing the player to do sadistic things. It's a nihilistic game.
    Save your 60$ and get Ghost of Tsushima instead.    … Expand

    More than the weird feeling you get when the character you learned to love are displaying unfitting behaviors, its the general atmosphere of the game that failed to make feel attached to it.

    Storytelling is such an important part of how a game or a movie touches its audience, yet it seems to have been completely forgotten here. The character writing especially is somehow downgraded exponentially from the first opus, with potent character being written off like they got discarded at a casting, while other "new" empty character got a surprising amount of spotlight (not the good kind of surprise). This resulted in a most of the storylines and quests being meaningless and unexciting. And since this is supposed to be the heart of the game, that why I cannot give it a decent grade.

    I dont even care that the gameplay is just a loop of repetitive similar challenges and situation, for which you get bored after a couple of hours. Thats not even the point.
    The point is that a story telling game got so lost in social virtue that its own soty telling has been killed. I was looking forward for that game so much and end up givin this kind of review only a day after release. This game will stay an example of how incerting politics and social issues into games can destroy good story telling, and divide its fanbase.    … Expand

    Looked forward to playing this game once the trailer released. After playing the game for the entire day, I can say there is nothing wrong about the game. The music, the graphics and the game played are outstanding. However, the script of this game is just **** It is a game that I won’t play the second time.

    Elephant in the room: I went into this game, having read the spoilers/leaks, and FULLY expected to hate it. While the game definitely does have a brutal story, and does not allow us (as the player) to ever be comfortable, it is still an amazing achievement in gaming and story telling. The “woke” moments that so many felt were going to be forced, were not existent. Seriously. The “woke” moments that so many felt were going to be forced, were not existent. Seriously. One of the largest, and most “woke” parts of the leaks turned out to be completely false. If the game were exactly what the leaks led us to believe, then I would be standing with you, bashing Naughty Dog for turning on it’s audience.

    PLEASE do not think that you should skip the game because you read the leaks and were upset. Not all the information was accurate, and you would be doing yourself a massive disservice by missing this experience.

    My review:

    The game is genuinely incredible, and is a true predecessor to the original game that we all fell in love with. The gameplay has vastly improved and has updated with the times. TLOU, while incredible for it’s storytelling, was never the most groundbreaking gameplay experience. TLOU2 has taken the same DNA and made it far more tense, and fast paced. Add that to Naughty Dog’s largest maps ever, and you have a recipe for success. There are plenty of places to explore and most all, feel important. Whether it is a store that offers extra dialogue, or character building cut scenes; or a small abandoned enemy outpost that restocks you and sends you on a treasure hunt for a lost supply drop. Please make sure you note, that there is far more to do outside of the “on-rails” story.

    The graphics from a Naughty Dog game are always expected to be “Best-in-Class” level, and TLOU2 definitely does not ruin that expectation. I played the game with 4K with HDR, and it was beautiful. If you have a PlayStation 4 Pro, and a 4K HDR tv, this game is a must own for that experience alone. Finally the story. I am NOT going to give away any spoilers, so I am going to have to be a bit generic. The game is dark. There is never a moment to breathe. The sense of danger is always there for the characters, and the sense of dread is even more present. Naughty Dog knows what made the first game great, and dialed it up to 11. The new characters are not quite as memorable as Tess, Joel, or Ellie, but you will still find yourself caring for them through your care for Ellie. The story gets moving fairly quickly, and only picks up pace from there. Once I was about 6 hours in, I found myself looking around for collectibles less, just to see what happens next in the story.

    Overall, if you enjoyed the first game, then TLOU2 is a must play. The game is so much more that the leaks led us to believe. Do yourself the favor of playing this game.    … Expand

And what Neil & woke clique give us after they fired especially talented writer Amy is this disgusting abomination. Favorite characters? Gone. I don't know what you liked in The Last of Us game, but what I liked was the atmosphere and character relationships. Although this game is very successful in terms of atmosphere and gameplay, I cannot say the same for its story. Joel, who is my favorite and empathetic character in this game, is dying in this game. and neither a character is added to replace it, nor can it fill in Ellie. The game is already doing everything it can to hate fifty. You always feel at your side as Joel is on his way to revenge, but this feeling decreases as you progress in the script. I do not want to touch upon the love triangle events during the trip. after some point in the game you are playing with Abby and you see his past and his experiences. you partially empathize with it and start giving rights to it. we even break the mouth of the fifty face while controlling Abby at some point. I don't know or I couldn't find the scenario I expected from this game. he explains the scenario he wants to tell very well but I did not like the scenario they told.… Expand

    I give this game 1 star because of the homophobic & political stance it takes. I wanted neither when I put it the game in & played it for an hour. This is not a video game, it’s Sony’s entry into pandering into the lqbt community. Just please don’t waste your money on this game. The graphics weren’t bad, it ran flawless. The story is the worst one I’ve ever seen.

    Oh and the gameplay hasn’t changed much since the first game, but this feels so small in comparison to other problems...

    On the bright side, the creativity in the plot development and the courage to go for big moves is still there (I kinda liked big twists in the beginning and middle of the game), but the ability to handle them and turn into great characters and plot is just missing. Naughty Dog should look for someone like Bruce Straley to balance out the creative director, his presence is very missed and evident in this game.    … Expand

Then imagine finding out years later that there will be a sequel to a game that you already love. You go out to buy the new sequel, The Last of Us Part 2, getting home and start playing the game. Then imagine being faced with nothing but disappointment. You find out that the developer has been lying about the content of the sequel and has been false advertising about the story about Joel. Now imagine one of the main characters that you love , Joel gets killed in a way to show killing the patriarchy. Yes, they kill Joel with a golf club to symbolize him being killed by a male reproductive external organ. What's worse, in the game you are forced to do horrid unethical things but you don't get a choice. You have to do it in order to progress in the game then the game nags you about what a horrid person you are after wards. The cherry on the top, you have to play as Joel's killer. It was bad enough that he was killed, but then you have to play as his murderer. The game has great graphics and the game mechanics I find sub par, but the story and lack character development has led me to have nothing but disdain for this game. I would only buy this game as a gift to people that I dislike. If you love the first The Last of Us, then don't buy/play this game.… Expand

Podemos ver que ella aun ha conservado su humor que lo demuestra siempre en sus conversaciones que desprenden un gran entusiasmo y carisma que hacen que aveces te pierdas un poco y solo quieres escuchar sus dialogos con su nueva compañera y como muchos sabeis la relacion mas cercana que tiene ellie a excepcion de Joel. Aqui os hablare de los 3 temas que creo son mas importantes.

    1- Hablemos de la Jugabidad: Este es un punto que destaca bastante. Si bien aqui podemos ver los comandos de toda la vida como disparar, agacharse y estar escondido ante una lluvia de balas (Que ya sabeis que mata y rapido) el enfoque en hacer que estos momentos sean de una forma o otra tan sucios, desgarradores y a la vez impactantes hace que aveces no quiera matar a los enemigos o simplemente elijas pasar de ellos pues en verdad sientes que estas matando a una persona. Que creo que si este juego es lanzado en VR ya te daria miedo andar matando a todos por hay hehe. Son momentos de tension extrema y que pone tu punteria a limite pues donde falles dos o mas tiros ya deberias lidiar con un hit kill que te matara mas rapido de lo que canta un gallo.

    2- Hablemos de Graficos: Si hay un juego que explota la capacidad de la PS4 y la lleva al limite de los limites y mas Alla! Este es Last of Us 2. En todo el juego podras ver lo detallados que estan los entornos. Es como si cada milimetro del juego hubiera sido revisado de uno a uno y con pulido mas que espetacular con un entorno lleno de vida. En esta generacion he jugado a muchos juegos populares y de mundo abierto y puedo decir que Last of Us no necesita el mundo abierto para ser una Joya Total. Es que no lo necesita!! En cada rincon donde explores habra algo que hacer y nunca te sentiras que estas dando vueltas por el mapa. Otro punto muy positivo es la calidad y la forma en la que se mueve la nieve, he estado de visita en Nueva York y Londres porque lo que he sentido la nieve real y este juego la recrea perfectamente en una calidad que pone a este Juego como un nuevo referente Mundial de como hacer que un juego en verdad luzca INCREIBLE!!!

    3- Mi Opnion Final:

    Ya se que muchos os habeis tragado spoiler mucho antes del lanzamiento. Algo con lo que estoy en completo desacuerdo. Pero quiero que penseis lo siguiente: ¿Puedo disfrutar de este juego aun habiendo visto algun spoiler? y yo te lo respondo: Claro que puedes!!! Mucho de lo que habeis visto en verdad no pasa y hay cosas que si. Estoy totalmente seguro que lo disfrutaras si pones en tu pensamiento en que quieres vivir este juego como nunca lo habias hecho antes. Porque no es lo mismo ver un video a jugar un juego pues si asi fuera ¿Quien tendria consolas? Que mas puedo de deci de este juego sin daros tanto informacion. This story is about a cycle of violence, an obsession with revenge, a good story. The heroes are interesting in the second part, I don't argue. But even a few of these political correctness and radical femenism in the game is a spoonful of dirt in a barrel of honey. The way white men are presented with chauvinist and biggots scum and women have all the power. In the end, i would still recommend the game, but its defenetly not a masterpiece and not as good as 1 part. Please dont hate the company and its workers but Niel Drakman and his radical femenism friends ( you know who i am talking about). I just really loved TLOU 1 and think this is a total disservice to the characters ND created and an insult to its fans.. I will say the gameplay is good and griping, I really like how violent and real it feels, but I play games like these due to their story and frankly it sucks.. Joel character is just an afterthought. As fans we loved Joel and ellie so it's a disservice to him just to kill him for the sake of it, without taking into account what he means for us. I didn't really liked playing as Abby.. It should have been a dlc tbh.. The ending is also really really bad.. I wouldn't recommend this game for a fan of the first one..… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

    If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
