    Loved the characters and the ambientation. One of the best games out there and shouldn´t be treated bad because of the beaggining.

    The game is a complete **** made without consideration for the fans or respect fort the previous game. The first one was a masterpiece and they just **** destroyed it and with the ending they spit on the destroyed game and the dreams of the players. And the trans/gay thing should have stayed out of the game, at max make Ellie and D fall in love and thats it.     what a disappointment. paid $130 for an interactive movie with a pathetic story masked by the most annoying film grain on the planet. the trailers were full of lies, they changed everything we saw.

    Story and play time is 25 hours it would be much better if it would have IDK 18 h but they would cut those 7 boring hours and the story is rubbish just dont buy it i am giving wuite good ending beacause of graphics and animations those are so good but the story is **** up just dont buy it

    So before anything i'm telling you all right of the bet that i'm really pissed off about this.
    The last of us ll, One of the most if not the most anticipated gaming sequel of this year, it takes apart a few years after the original one (The last of us l) from 2013, where we see Joel and Ellie take of together the unknown.
    Now you might be wondering why the 3/10 score if this was such an anticipated sequel, well let me tell you why, in order to give a 10/10 review like most of the so called professional reviewers out there a game/book/movie/series needs to have certain characteristics that sets it apart from the others.
    Most of the reviewers gave this game a 10/10 review which is already weird because normally there is always some negative and some neutral reviews and if you played the game you will get to the same conclusion that many of us have because this is not sequel material. They presented us with a game shouldn't even have been release but why?
    Well the graphics are amazing and that's truth and i wasn't expecting anything less from naughty dog and that is the only reason that im not giving the review a 0/10 and a 3/10. Why a 3/10?| you may ask be asking... well because the graphics of the game should never be the reason why a game as a 5/10 or even a 10/10 review which normally is the reason that people who play games casually gives it to them. So now the real reason why i don't give anymore credit to the game, well for starters this game is a sequel and sequels normally tend to follow a path set by the first one, and what i'm trying to say is that this game has nothing to do with The last of us l in terms of story development and character development. Naughty dog literally takes a piss on what fans loved about the characters and what the characters were and completely remakes their whole way of thinking and acting, Joel is not actually the Joel we met that was bitter towards strangers (i guess 5 or 6 years really change someone's perspective of the whole world even in an apocalypse), Ellie goes on a killing spree out of revenge for Joel's death (which is the whole point of the game, getting a revenge...) just so that in the end she doesn't even get's her revenge after killing maybe hundreds of people because and let me emphasize this BECAUSE killing is not a solution (well Ellie the why the killing spree what did the other ones did to you to deserve it?). That's the biggest problem with this game, this history ... a revenge history isn't something that marks the players it just isn't something that you enjoyed watching and playing it doesn't stick to your memory because it's just a normal story just like the other, there is literally nothing different from this history and the one from some indie game with a overall rating of 3 or 4 a game with a rating of 10 needs a compelling history that will stay with you for years, this might be a game, but just like movies and series you can have pieces of it with you for the rest of your life they can be lessons or experiences that sometimes might even change you. So now that the biggest problem with this game is addressed i'm going to speak about the secondary problems with it.
    The gameplay itself, we were promised a revolutionary gameplay but what we really got was empty promisses, the gameplay it's almost the same as in The Last Of Us l, now don't get me wrong they did changed it, they added dogs! i mean what's there to not love about it?
    We all loved the way the game was meant to be played in 2013 but where is the improvement? you still craft items in the same way as you did before so no improvement there, the looting system is the exact same one so nothing new there either they may have add some new animations to the fight's but in overall despite the change in graphics the gameplay stayed pretty similar the on in The last of Us l.
    So in conclusion i'm giving this game a 3/10 score    … Expand

    Во время прохождения было скучно, финал и всё предшествующее действо очень расстроило, первая часть как будто пропала, ее больше нет.

    - Graphics and sound are awesome.
    - Gameplay is passable. Nothing exceptional.

    Cons:
    - Story. Oh gods the story. It tries to be an edgy revenge story but falls soundly flat on that because there is no payoff. It forces you to play a character where it's made clear early on that you're supposed to hate her and tries to make her seem more 'sympathetic'. Honestly how they thought they could pull this off is a joke. For the ending I thought nothing could top Mass Effect 3 for a horrifically bad end but this game does it by a clear margin.
    - Mis-advertisement ND uses Joel to promote the game. Joel barely exists in the game and virtually all the promotional imagery wasn't in the game or it was doctored.    … Expand

Also again we don't like playing as abbie killing our own, but guess what that's life that's what could happen in that time, also all the stuff Joel and Tommy probs got upto before killing and such.     Great work for this game, thanks developers and more.

    titanic work from the studio, a lot of details not immediately noticeable to a simple player, great graphics, matured Ellie. All this about this game, I recommend spending all your time on it to all fans of the genre.

    we got tricked with trailers and gameplay videos.I paid for this game for fifty and joel.Playing with abby made me finish off.frustration.I would not recommend you pre-order this producer games.they had to be honest in trailer and gameplay.technical, gameplay, graphics are very good.I broke 2 points because I don't like the story I broke 4 points because the job was not as described.

But the way how Naughty Dogs show us this story, the fight vs good and evil, the emotions, the graphics, the sounds and the brutality is just amazing. After 24h I saw the ending screen and I was just shocked about what I have seen.     Is this game not what I've expected? Yes, it isn't! But that is the point I loved. In every second I didn't know, what is next. Everything could happen and that is, what i liked.

    The Last Of Us Part II is definitely one of the realest, brutal and hardest stories that were ever told. 10/10 for that really great experience.    … Expand

When this happened all I felt was hate for the Abby the person who killed Joel but then they make me play with her for more than 6 hours a girl that I don’t give a penny about they try to make me sympathetic towards her but failed to do so I hated her since the beginning. The way the killed Joel is nothing what Joel will do. Joel will not trust random people he met he will be suspicious and will not say his **** name I mean come on naughty dog the first game clearly showed he had trust issues but no killed him and ruin the whole game. To make matters worse you can’t even killed Abby in the end game Ellie let’s her go just leaving you there. You killed everyone but the one person you hated the most bruhh what a disappointment a waste of 60 dollars on my opinion just stick with the first game… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After finishing the game over the weekend, I can honestly say that I enjoyed the game quite a lot. There have been a lot of reviews bombing the game, but I would like to share why I think this game is a good one at least, if not a totally worthy sequel. I just want to warn that there will be a lot of spoilers.

    First: the gameplay. I liked it, it was familiar, easy to settle into. It got tedious after about say 16 hours but with the introduction of Stalkers a bit before then you are kept on high alert. I especially liked the additional boss fight with the monstrosity you encounter later in Seattle.
    The crafting was the same, but you have to level up Ellie and Abby's skills in a follow-up order, which was a bit annoying, since I couldn't immediately get the skill I wanted or would find useful at that moment in the game. I also loved that you could customize most settings, like companion effectiveness, enemy alertness level and even button functions on the controller.

    The character perspective switch. Through the game you play as Ellie in the first half, and go through the same timeline again, but this time as Abby. I wasn't the biggest fan of the switching, since we we're playing as Joel's killer and eventually turing us against Ellie, but I understand why it was important for us to see Abby's side of the story, get to know her, find her motivations, see that she's actually a person that lost so much and just couldn't let go. It kept her from being just another villain set on uprooting what we had established. It also brought regret on finding out you were responsible for killing her dad and eventually her friends, they get you to bond with those characters, but didn't shy from the fact that, yeah, they're already dead because of you.
    I wasn't the biggest fan, but I even started to like Abby near the end of Day 2.

    The pacing. A little drawn out, took too long to get to the point, but ultimately a good time. The flashbacks to Ellie's time with Joel were the best parts of the game. Abby's flashbacks too, great parts in understanding her character. 10/10.

    The "agenda". Ellie's gay and her girlfriend accompanies her through the first half of the game. Beginning features homophobic comment. There is a trans boy later on that Abby helps out when the crazy cult wants to kill him. The story would be exactly the same if Dina was a guy (except maybe for the pregnant part but that can be changed) and Lev was a girl that broke the rules of the cult, it has 0 influence on your life or the story. I really enjoyd these aspects. It was nice to have more diverse set of characters, you don't notice how bland stories are without diversity until you get a story with a lot of it. 10/10.

    Now: the story. I can honestly say that this is the main reson why it didn't get 10/10 from me. As a standalone game, it is beautiful in every way, but as a sequel to a dearly beloved first game, it klings too much on shock value. I liked that the first game felt organic and had more highs than lows. If I could associate it with a colour, The Last Of Us would be deep forest green. Part II would be the colour of rust. It got old and started to collapse under its own weight. The game would've benefited from it so much if they decided to end it in the theatre in Seattle. To kill Abby aswell. I understood Joel's death, Ellie losing her fingers and the abundance of other deaths and tragedies throughout, but letting Abby go made the whole game's story moot point.
    The whole part in Santa Barbara was useless to me and felt like they were milking that damm revenge cow till it ran dry.

    Throughout the game we see many similarities between Abby and Ellie, they're pretty much two sides of the same coin. Ellie is no better than Abby and the game should've gave Ellie the horrid realisation of this. Instead they have tried to make Ellie the better person, which she is not and never will be.

    I actually liked Abby's story more than Ellie's, Ellie felt flat and narrow minded. The part where she showed up at the theatre after killing Mel and Owen, that was the first time I felt like Ellie was an actual person in the story, not just an object that progressed the game. I would actually contribute 3 out of the 7 score I gave to Abby's storyline.

    I also noticed people said Joel and Tommy were reckless and out of character about telling the group where they lived and trusting them (eventually leading to Joel's death), but lets face it, it's been four years in Jackson, they got soft and trusting and slipped, especially since the group didn't show signs of being a threat in the beginning. Joel was also overpowered, approaching or over 50 and vulnerable.

    In conclusion: I had a great time. Not the best game of the year, but the best one I've played this year so far. You can see that Naughty Dog put a lot of heart and effort into this game, sometimes it just missed the mark a bit, but still on the board at least.    … Expand

The first one is the way that they killed Joel, and the second is the way that they force us to play as Abby. Firstly, I want to talk about the first problem. I think a main character that is beloved from every player shouldn't be killed like that. The progression in his character from first game has just thrown into the garbage. I would accept that death scene if he was more cautious as before the scene could be written differently. But if you still wanna go with this, at least you should show us how his character has changed over the years. Like more flashbacks that shows Joel is changing, becoming less cautious and vulnerable because of his relationship with Ellie.
    I think the second problem is bigger. After nearly 10 hours of gameplay, the only feeling that I have was to finding and killing Abby. I think most players felt that. However, after 10 hours of game play, writers decided us to play as Abby! For nearly 8 hours. That's just unacceptable. If you want us to love this new character, which killed our beloved Joel and we spend 10 hours hating her, and bond with her this is not the way. I think if the chronological order of the story has changed this problem would be overcome. Like before Abby kills Joel we could have hear her story, and "maybe" sympathize with her. Or at least, in my personal opinion at the scene where Ellie and Abby standoffs at the theatre, we should definitely play as Ellie. I HATE THAT PART. I killed Abby thousand of times in that part because I have no sympathy or love for her. She is just a new character that killed my favorite character. When we pin Ellie down to the ground and forced to hit her, I quit the game and try to keep calm.
    However, I would say that they made some parts of the story well. The flashbacks were amazing. We see the bonding between Ellie and Joel. The birthday flashback scene made me cry. Actually lot of scenes apart from Abby made me cry. I have waited 7 years to hear about what will happen to Ellie and Joel. I was expecting Joel to die but, what will happen to Ellie afterward was a thing I didn't know.
    I think if we neglect Abby's part from the story and look it on the side of just Ellie the story is sublime. The emotions that the story put me through was hard. And the ending scene, oh the ending scene got me so hard. I'm crying for two days now. The scene where Ellie tries to play guitar after her fingers are chopped is... Hard.
    Anyway, as you can read in this review I'm mad at the game but I cannot be angry and hate it. I've waited 7 years for this and the story of Ellie just hit me.

    Ps: They will probably continue with the story of Abby and Lev in the 3rd game. I think the Abby parts from the game should come as an DLC maybe? I don't know. Thanks for reading. And I hope someone feels the way I do.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Before the haters hate, yes I have played through this game to completion and no, I am in no way against the LGBTQ+ community. Now that is out of the way, let's begin and spoiler alert by the way.

    Well, actually... where do I start with this mess. Look, I am a massive fan of the first game - so much so this was my most anticipated game of the past 4 years since its announcement. Firstly, lets start with the story/plot, and where it goes wrong in so many ways but also what it does right.

    Okay so, this "sequel" follows Joel and Ellie again right? ... Right? Well... No. Joel, my personal and I know a lot of other fans too, favourite protagonist in a video game EVER is killed off within the first 2 HOURS of this 25 hour game. Now this COULD have worked, however the way they executed (no pun intended) this was HORRIFIC. For starters, it just straight up makes no sense as to why Joel and Tommy would wonder in to a room full of strangers after 25 years of building a natural survivors instinct. Furthermore, the way Joel inevitably is killed is so inhumane and spiteful to a character we've grown to adore of the past 7 years, a character we were told we would be following in a new adventure but were unfortunately lied to by an incompetent marketing strategy.

    The game then follows Ellie, our new protagonist and god damn she is great and we can't wait to get sweet revenge on Joel's murderer, Abby... Right? RIGHT!? Well... No. Half way through the game, the developers decided it be a good idea for us to play as Joel's murderer, for her to not be an antagonist, but a second protagonist. This is where the game falls flat in many ways, I can't count the amount of times I intentionally had Abby's throat ripped apart by a clicker, or fall from a great height to her demise, finding satisfaction in seeing this character die in the meanest fate, something I as a player genuinely believed she deserved. Any attempt at making us sympathise with Abby is in vain as we unfortunately already know what she has done and myself as a player only wanted one thing and that was for Ellie to avenge Joel's death.

    Anyway, in short, we go back to playing as Ellie and find Abby after a short time has passed. And we're about to get our sweet, sweet revenge... Right? RIGHT!? Oh for fuc...    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game is linear, with some maze like corridors, with cinematic “cutscenes” and some fights between that. Map structure is very basic: you get a corridor that leads to a maze that leads either to an empty room or a combat room. Object placement is retarded if there are combat elements. Monsters will spawn at predefined locations and attack you or the humans that are chasing you. And the rooms have no actual other entrances then you came and leave from. AI is invincible and has unlimited ammo. They are also doing much more damage and can shoot a lot faster. So if you’re in a fight you can literally wait for you companions to rush the enemy. Zombies are way too easy, some of them have more HP and another design, that’s it.
    Story is 40% Cut Scenes, 30% Maze, 20% Combat and 10% other stuff. Without spoiling too much, the story is very bad. They are living in a homosexual friendly utopian village, playing guitar, dancing, hearing loud music. All that in a post-apocalyptic world. They don’t care about zombies, only about anyone that hates homosexual individuals. You are fighting a religious cult about 80% of the actual gameplay game. 5-10% is mini games like playing a guitar in a cut scene. No real post-apocalyptic feeling. By the way, most of the story was written or at least suggested by a “strong-woman” social fighter.    … Expand

    I didn’t mind playing as Abby at the start to get us into story however I think they should should have made the part further into the game as a dlc like left behind. I still enjoyed what it added to the world and the story wasn’t sure if it was really needed i heard the LGBTQ’s repression that was added was unneeded however it never bothered me and I usually does.     Graphics are beautiful. Combat feels clumsy at points. The stealth is non existent because everyone is naturally blind until you change settings. The story feels like a fan fiction of someone who hates the first game and never understood what makes it good the relationship Ellie build in the new game is kinda cute and sweet but all other characters feel like cut outside of their precious selves.

    This game is a massive kick on the balls to it's predecessor, not only the story is **** bad written and boring, but the entire set feels forced with SJW propaganda worthy of an LGTB parade, this is supposed to be a serious game with actual impact on characters but it doesn't even let you kill the main antagonist, truly a disgrace to the first game.

    After almost 5 years of waiting, the game turned out to be a huge disappointment. The story was just hollow, and the ending was just so terrible. Naughty Dog you really did a great job on ruining the franchise.

    Naughty Dog managed to take a game with a deep and engaging plot and turn it into an uninspired revenge plot that captures none of the charm and nuance of the original.

    The actual game play is fine and the graphics are undeniably gorgeous. I won't knock the craftsmanship, only that the writer missed the mark entirely this time around.

What I liked the most is the fact that many things felt intuitive for me as a player. My first approach to do something, like breaking a window into an empty building or using the cables to move around, was respected even though it wasn't the intended approach. Also, the graphics are stunning and they help a lot with the experience. The amount of animations for every single character and interaction with an object are incredible and diverse.

    On the other hand I have mixed feelings about the story. Abby's story and carachter development is superb. We see her grow as a person and deal with her past in a very good way. I liked that the main characters died as they would die in the real world. Not dying as heroes fighting against ordes of zombies and enemies, but with a simple mistake that lead them to get shooted. Ellie's story was good, but I would liked more exploration in her relationship with Dina and the times she spent with Joel after the first game (Possible DLC), as well as more guitar moments. On Ellie's side I didn't like that her character limited to a vengeance story, which doesn't ressemble Joel's teachings to her or so. Also something had to happen with the fact that she's inmune, that was the whole plot of the first game.

    Hope the next entry fixes this mistakes, but overall it was an excelent game.    … Expand

Joel, an eternally-careful and experienced character, willingly gives up his identity. This leads to his brutal death. Ellie then goes on a rampage to avenge his death, killing pregnant women, dogs, etc. along the way. She then stops short of killing the actual person responsible. It is an aggressively stupid plot, monotone in its characters and their motives. Anyway, graphics are some of the best ever. Gameplay is about the same as last time. But for a narrative-driven game, the narrative was poorly executed. I feel bad for the technical talent and time that went into this inherently flawed game. This is a game that tries too hard to be smart. It is not profound. It is not deep. It does not require you to think deeply about the themes, it bashes you over the head with it. The Last of Us Part II is a very good example of what happens when themes overtakes storytelling instead of elevating it.

    I'm giving this a 6/10. 5 of that is for it being a technical marvel. 1 for having a promising start.

    The gameplay is solid. It's nothing new, so if you loved the gameplay from the first one, you will love it in this one. However, it became repetitive when you start to get 3/4 of the way. Notable zombie boss fights that was frantic and enjoyable.

    Graphics looks great. Seattle provides an incredible backdrop to the bleak story and the atmosphere puts you in a tense emotion by providing great lighting. Subtle character expression is visible and provides an additional depth to the incredible acting by the actors.

    Unfortunately, the story is where it all falls apart. It had a promising start, but began to waste your time halfway through. It's a 10-hour journey stretched out to 25. The premise is that Ellie began her journey of revenge after a traumatic tragedy. However, it has been intentionally left out that the person responsible for that traumatic tragedy is a playable main character and you will spend at least 10 hours as that person. To anyone intending to buy this to have more Joel and Ellie adventure, don't. You have been misled by the trailers and interviews. This is not a Joel and Ellie adventure, it is barely an Ellie adventure.

    Instead, it is a showcase of what the cycle of revenge and violence will cost a person. Stripped down to its core theme, The Last of Us Part II sends the message that "revenge is bad". Yet it does not respect the players enough to let them discern it themselves by writing and telling a compelling and emotional story. The message is instead shoved down the players' throat for 25 hours to ensure that the message is there, at the expensive of proper storytelling. The structure is a mess. The first half built up to a tense moment, leaving it at a cliffhanger to bring the tension back down as they rewound time. Horrid decision and completely destroyed any tension that existed.

    Characters continually make decisions that is out of character. It was very difficult to relate or agree with the decisions my main characters were making. This deviance from established characterisation were mostly unexplained. Coincidences and cheap plot devices were used to move the story forward. Further, the story continuously hid information from the player with the intention of 'surprising' them with it later on. Compared to the strong cast of characters from the first game, the characters in the second one is very weak and forgettable.

    The first game had a relatively generic story. It was Joel and Ellie's relationship as well as the incredible supporting cast of characters that elevated the story. My difficulty to relate and connect with any of the characters is a large reason as to why the game fell flat. I do not understand why the reviews have been calling this a perfect game. It is far from that. Does it deserve a 0 or a 1? Not necessarily. But there are certainly better games out there that does not waste your time for 25 hours.    … Expand

    Where was the dystopian / apocalyptic plot of the previous one? The game is based on Ellie's personal relationship and Abby LOOOL THAT IS A **** NO ONE IS INTERESTED ABOUT ABBY'S PAST.
    Everything was perfect until the DLC. It is a very long game showing a rebellious teen **** lesbians and a Joel who is killed on the first 2 hours of the game, knowing that the same character in the previous game, when he meets Ellie with a **** knife, he almost killed her and did not even trust in her. WHILE HERE... YOU TRUST EASLY INTO A GANG OF STRANGERS AND THEY KILL JOEL AT THE BEGINNING OF THE GAME LOL ahh ... but after all, the ending is a CRINGE masterpiece. If they changed the name of the game, maybe it would be a good game, because this is not the last of us. Life Is Strange for example, like so many, is A MASTERPIECE.

    I can even tell you that it is the worst game in history. It's ridiculous. And better not to mention the SJW, and the disgusting and ridiculous fan service. When a game has the overtones of "we are going to open your head by forcing political and sociable ideologies" it is automatically a score of 0/10. Whoever says it's a good game, can suck my balls bag, because this is not a good game at all. I would rate it 0.5/10 at most because the gameplay in the fights improved a bit.

    98% of people do not mind that there are homosexuals, trans in games in the middle of 2020, what ruins everything is that they want to force an ideology in vain only for a minority with the mere fact of selling it, ruining a story with a poor script/storyline. When people mix this kind of thing in art, it's crap, and worse when in the video game environment where the vast majority don't care if you're gay or not, if you're nobinary or asexual or the crap you are. We want to play and have a good time. until dlc is 10/10 the game. This part was not necessary if they presented it like this. The vast majority say that this **** would not even become canon of the BAD it is.

    If you think that people hate this game "unjustifiably "(for homosexuality) then you have **** floating in the skull. The day that people know to understand when a concept is exploited, sold to the masses and forced (ruining art), we going to progress as humans. Games are for distraction and fun, not for forcing and mixing them up with crappy politics. If you want to consume that, turn on the television.

    In general very few bugs so far and very smooth and fun gameplay. (I'm playing in Normal difficulty)
    Visually speaking, I'm playing on a first-generation ps4, not a ps4 pro. And Damn it's pretty, the PlayStation fans are screaming all the time, but The game looks great. The sound is also great, I found myself deeply invested in the environment trying to stealth kill some clickers and the sound definitely helped me into the emersion.

    Story-wise so far so good a bit predictable and expected, nothing new, some cliches here and there, but good fun and interesting, not the best narrative in the world. But definitely OK.

    So far I would give the game an 89 and my seal of approval.
    It's not a game for everyone, but it's definitely a great game. If you are thinking if you should buy it or not. I would say do it.

    The game is basically a fan fic of the last of us 1. Life is tumbler of us. the star wars last jedi seems like a masterpiece compared to this regurgitated slime of a game. On the other hand the graphics are beyond beautiful it can at times put red dead redemption 2 to shame. Combat is still the same which was fine as well.

Tinha acabado de terminar o primeiro jogo e meu Hype estava gigantesco, e ele foi superado, pois esse jogo superou todas minhas espectativas. Uma obra-prima e com certeza um dos melhores jogos que já joguei em minha vida. O problema desse jogo com relação ao primeiro, é que ele não será uma unanimidade, não serão todos que irão gostar do jogo no fator história, mas eu gostei e muito. Mas de resto, posso considerar esse jogo como o melhor jogo do ano...… Expand

    I read the spoilers and at first hated the idea what was ahead. After sinking a weekend into playing I’m actually thoroughly enjoying the story, Ellie’s Story. The gameplay has been really fun, classic Last of Us combat but with a new twist. The surroundings look beautiful, great graphics. I also love the fact we’ve been given some ability to free roam in certain areas, it makes the gameI read the spoilers and at first hated the idea what was ahead.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
