    I kept an open mind about part 2 because I loved the first game, it is favourite game of all time. I also don’t have strong feelings about gay people and wouldn’t minus points for a character being gay so I, avoided the majority of the spoilers, kept my pre order and hoped for the best. It is annoying how the social justice scenes feel gratuitous and not linked to any plot or characterI kept an open mind about part 2 because I loved the first game, it is favourite game of all time. I also don’t have strong feelings about gay people and wouldn’t minus points for a character being gay so I, avoided the majority of the spoilers, kept my pre order and hoped for the best. It is annoying how the social justice scenes feel gratuitous and not linked to any plot or character development. They’re just included to virtue signal. However, that’s not my major issue. The major issue is that the first game felt like a zombie apocalypse... it was barren, it was moody, it brooded. After playing the first game that feeling stuck with me for days. The characters you came across felt human, they left their mark on you and you moved on. Joel was a grieving father on the brink of a breakdown, the complexity of his character - desperation and grief with hope and tenderness for Ellie - was so well written.

    I’m about 5 hours into part 2 and it feels like a high school melodrama. The characters gossip and chatter constantly. The social justice scenes serve no plot points. It’s bubbly like a JRPG. Don’t get me wrong I’ve enjoyed Final Fantasy games in the past but that’s not why I’m here. I’m here to go back into that world I saw in the first game. I’m left disappointed.

    Naughty Dog have used up all of my “benefit of the doubt” now. I will not be pre ordering anything again.

    The Last of Us 2 is wonderful in the graphic, artistic, sound and technical section, unfortunately its history is disappointing it has plot holes in which for wanting to cause "shock" on the user and certain characters.     Masterpiece of a game. I recommend this game if you like action/adventure games. It's a bit of a slow roast, but the game gets a significantly better over time.

    the story is horrible comparing the first part’s story to this.
    The gameplay is exactly the same **** that part 1 had, without any difference almost. How the naughy dog ​​was able to make us wait 7 years to deliver this crap experience where the **** Joel dies and the main character spends 26 hours of gameplay looking for revenge when the person who killed him had reasons for it. And damn it, I'm not even going to talk about the cringe knife battle that happens at the end of the game. Be ashamed. But apart from disadvantages there is a bright side too!     Incredibly disappointing. The gameplay and graphics show the hard work and dedication the developers had in making this game but since the story was what made its predecessor so amazing it's truly disappointing to see what has been done here. I'm all for progressive inclusion in games but they failed to honor the characters created in the original title. This lack of consistency inIncredibly disappointing.     Let me get this out of the way and say I would not have cared if there was politics in the game but if the politic is the only strength this game has then there is something wrong with it. Make a good game and strong memorable character first then add on to the politic. At that point, I would be too invested in the story and character to quit because of some cheap politic added into the game.

    Last of Us 1 is amazing for its story and character. This game is trying to sell not with the merit of the game itself. The story went from interesting (1) to gutted (2) and the game seems to try to sell this game more importantly as a progressive political game than, you know, an actual Last of Us game. All the character and built up from the first game was unceremoniously killed off along with Joe, the original character and the story turn into a generic revenge story.

    If you expect anything interesting with its story or character then do not buy this. The game is selling on its political message not its quality as a game.    … Expand

    El juego la verdad me encantó me tiene fascinado y si claro tal vez la muerte joel fue algo forzada y abby también metiendo su historia sin un pasado bien desarollado

    graphics looks amazing and game play looks exactly like the first game, which is not a bad thing.
    story is very disappointing and clearly no thought was put into the game in regards of understanding what made the first game amazing. i honestly cant picture myself recommending it to anyone. maybe the next one (if there's a next one) will be better.

It looks like an amateur wrote this story and characters for HIMSELF and not for others to enjoy, BIG mistake. Naughty Dog completely forgot what made the The Last Of Us popular in the first place.     o jogo até o momento esta sendo uma das melhores experiencias de minha vida, com uma game play ótima, historia ótima e gráficos excelentes, em alguns momentos da jogatina teve reviravoltas que eu não compreendia, mas tudo se encaixava depois, só tenho a dizer parabéns

    Que forma mas lamentable de terminar una historia, vi prácticamente a uno de los mejores personajes de los vídeo juegos un héroe tan humano como todos con errores y apegos, acabar su historia de la manera mas inusual y absurda posible. repito Lamentable. Este juego me destoso el corazón y no en el buen sentido de la palabra.

    Putting all SJW stuff off to the side the game itself is bad and is a disgrace to the first game. I had early access and I finished the game and oh boy was it bad. 3/10 just because of graphics, music and voice acting.

    Don't base your opinion on whether the characters are gay, straight, white, black, women, or men. But on how the game is, if you havent played the game, or seen a playthrough of it, dont make a review on it.

    The game is made well, it has a good story, the npcs are a bit wonky but one can work with that, the world is good looking, and the mechanics are improved a lot on the wonky movement from the first game.    … Expand

Bem, eu estava esperando esse jogo por muito tempo, e conseguiu me dar oque eu queria e ainda mais, a jogabilidade do primeiro jogo não era A INOVAÇÃO, mas era incrivelmente bem feita e gostozinha, e eles melhoraram isso, adicionando mais coisas ao mesmo tempo, outra coisa é o áudio q é incrível, os cenários e level design, em termos de gameplay é incrível, mas e agr, a história. Bem, isso varia muito de opinião, eu amei a história, o primeiro game é uma história de amor e tem mensagens que vc leva para a vida inteira, e o segundo faz isso, com um tema diferente, o ódio, se você só jogar por jogar, não vai aproveitar de verdade, precisa pensar e refletir, e é claro, estourar umas cabeças juntos, resumindo, esse jogo vale o dinheiro? Vale, talvez não seja tão incrível quanto o primeiro, mas esqueça oque já viu, e vai de cabeça, esse jogo vai ficar na sua cabeça pra sempre… Expand

As probably most fans, I've absolutely loved the first part and got very emotionally attached to Ellie and Joel - this is the first game I've ever pre-ordered, and I've been playing video games since the late 1980s. I hope this paints a picture on how much I was looking forward to this.

    I can't believe it has come to this, but they somehow managed to ruin everything.

    Ok, so first things first: people who take issue with the characters being the way they are are obvious haters. I can't comment on how well done they are, how "included" and "represented" the related social groups feel with the characters in TLOU2, but what a character (or a person) for that matter IS is less important to the story than what the character DOES. Whether some characters being transgender, gay, or black or white adds to the story or not is a topic to be discussed, perhaps, but I don't think it takes away anything from the game.

    However, the issue with TLOU2 is a glaring and monumental one, and I haven't god the faintest idea how someone, somewhere, had a meeting about what they will do with the game, and they all agreed this was a good thing? I can't comprehend someone would propose to force the players of TLOU2 to play as a character that kills Joel with a golf club and then bites Ellie's fingers off?

    I'm sorry, you want me to do what? I can't possibly like being forced to play, let alone identify with, a character that literally kills and tortures maybe my two favourite video game characters ever? What the hell is the matter with you, people? Who thought it would be a good idea to have TLOU2 be played from a perspective of someone who hates Ellie!?

    Nobody, I repeat, NOBODY cares about Abby. We don't care about what happened to her, we don't care about why she is angry, and we most certainly don't care about biting off Ellie's fingers.

    This is basically Top Gun 2, where Maverick is murdered in the first five minutes, and then the rest of the movie is about about some random pilot doing loops in a Cessna.

    Or Life is Strange 3, but you get to play as Jefferson and do you know what (for the love of God, please don't ever make this happen).

    I don't understand the thinking behind continuing a story about two characters so deeply loved by the fans and the community, only to get it seen from a perspective of a random person nobody cares about. This has to be one of the biggest "what were they thinking?" moments of video games industry.

    Apart from that, the game is... I don't care. I bought it to see Joel and Ellie, not kill the former with a golf club, and mutilate the latter.

    In short, don't buy this game if you are a TLOU fan. I hope one day we can pretend none of this ever happened.    … Expand

Mixed feelings on the use of flashbacks and the dual narrative structure in the story. The beginning and end sections are gripping, but the time in between is disorganized and loses momentum as a result.

    Gameplay
    —My favorite aspect of the gameplay was exploring the detailed, open environments, especially the beginning section in Seattle.
    —If you can get past the brutality, the combat is pretty fun and strategic, but often the violence is so unpalatable I just wanted to stop playing.
    —The AI is much improved from the first game and it really does feel like you have to outsmart your enemies, which is impressive.
    —Survival horror fans won't be disappointed as the second act delivers some Lovecraftian nightmare fuel.

    Story *spoilers*
    —Sometimes I thought, "I'm not sure what's happening or what I'm doing and I don't really care when there are more interesting things going on that you're not showing me"
    —Sometimes, the story would introduce horrible ideas, retcon them, and then expect us to return to the story with full investment. When Tommy is shot in the head by Abby, I was instantly just like, "OK, I'm done. Do whatever. This game is over." And then it turns out he's alive later, and so my trust in the narrative came back, but only partly.
    —I did care about where the story was going, but I cared the most at the beginning and the end, like I said. Abby is well developed and she's an interesting character like Ellie, so I didn't mind spending time with her. It takes some time to reach this point, though, and at first, her story is almost unplayable given what we know about her. But then the game humanizes her, and so the trust in the story comes back.
    —You can never FULLY retcon or reverse disgust at what's happening in the story, even if that disgust turned out to be misguided.
    —In all, there are parts of the story I liked and parts I didn't like. It's mixed. I need more time to think.    … Expand

The original last of us game was met with critical appraise from both fans and critics alike and landed the game of the year spot for most outlets, most believed a sequel was not necessary, i was one of these people but u was still excited. Then the entire game leaked online, i remained optimistic and waited for release, this game has the most pathetic revenge story and it’s unlikeable characters (especially those i loved in the first game) make it a **** show.     A huge dissapointment after the first game. They ruin the characters we came to love just to push their political agenda. The game may look beautiful but most games do nowadays. This was supposed to be a game with a wowing story and only disappoints.

    Have spent the least 10 hours and the Game is absolutely one of the beste Games I ever played. It feel like Part 1, only the story get continued and many parts a little bit better then before. I love it and I am excited about the rest of the game.

    I had high hopes until I heard that 70% of Naughty Dogs team left during or after production of last of us 2. I dreamed of working for them and this game was a nail in the coffin. The characters I loved were treated with disrespect and the characters I hated got way more screen time then I wanted. This game was torture porn.

    Incredible game, so entertaining, tense and violent, it makes you have goosebumps.The hate here is only because the game profundize in serious real life problems, but well it is a realistic and hard violent game.

    This is not a story of revenge, it tries to give us a teaching but it gives it in a very bad way.

It was a clear disappointment overall and I felt like I was watching an 80's b flick made into playable form. The story was a simple revenge story with no revenge resulting in an unfulfilled journey without a payoff. After killing hundreds of infected and human to just turn around and not finish the journey off because to not repeat the cycle doesn't make sense in this apocalyptic world. The theme doesn't match with the theme of the world. A shoehorned idea just to milk out money.
    Graphically it's great. Controller and the game play is redundant from it's first iteration.
    It's appreciative to show inclusion with an asian kid, lbgqt and what not. But not allowing us to kill off the antagonist because of the so called inclusion didn't do anything to make it progressive, more like. since it's an inclusion. It's got plot armor.

    To start I wasn't one of the original fans of The Last of Us. When it came out i heard all kinds of great things but due to circumstances in my life, i was unable to play it. I ended up buying the first game about 2 years ago on PSN after they remastered it. WOW I knew there was a second game coming but I was so beyond in love with the story of the first game and the DLC. The mechanics were flawed it is true, but the way the characters were written and the story organically unfolds it just, it just really got me hooked. I said to myself, "This would make an AWESOME TV show". Looks like HBO had the same idea apparently. This game has stuck with me in a way others couldn't. I loved all 4 Uncharted games but like most mainstream games they are a PG sort of good where is this was Game of Thrones adult good (WINK WINK).

    Fast forward to a few months ago. I was riding high, very excited for the new game. With the pandemic i figured this would be an amazing game to bring out right now. Much like with the new Star Wars movies I was thinking that the possibilities could be endless. You could literally make the safest story possible and still win, both critically and with the fans. Well HBO then announces they are going to make a SHOW based on TLOU with the original writer and the show runner from Chernobyl. MY GOD how awesome....HOW AWESOME!

    Then came the spoilers. Of course I didn't pay attention to them. For weeks, i stayed off of social media the best i could. I didn't watch any youtube videos, until at last every aspect of what little of my online presence there was, pointed to the fact that everyone unanimously hated the leaks. I figured "How bad could they possibly be?". After all, this is a game meant to shock and awe, meant to bring you in with the amazing characters that you want to see succeed or fail and then and only then, bring you to your knees. Make you rethink what is right and wrong. Real moral dilemmas we could all experience. Well we can thank Instagram for spoiling one the biggest parts for me. With one "Swing", one little picture. the whole thing was ruined. It was a character i knew and loved, yes, but it had to be an honorable death the character deserved right? There had to be more context to what happened. I caved, i looked at the spoilers. My answer was a strong NO. Instead of treating this character with the end they truly deserved, it is at the hands of some MINOR MINOR.....MINOR characters that i didn't even come close to remembering, daughter...son.... or whatever they go by. I honestly don't know and I don't give a hoot what the characters orientation is. In fact, i just don't give a crap about them honestly AT ALL. Usually we tend to care about the people we spent a good portion of 20 hours with in the first game. It would be like Disney bring Mark Hamill back just to sit him on some rocks and not do AWESOME Luke Skywalker **** or if they teased Jon Snows lineage for over TEN years only to tell you that you are stupid for following the plot points. HA! GOT YOU! ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED??? Also RIP Snoke

    Frankly, NO, i'm not entertained. i am actually very saddened that the very thing that can make a show or game great can willingly be used in such a poor manner just for the sake of surprising an audience. You DO NOT need to destroy everything about a story or character to make the audience surprised. Characters don't need to act out of character to reach a destination in the story. Stop dumbing down great characters to serve as plot devices. It feels forced.... awkward, not organic. It really takes me out of a story when in the middle of a scene I say to myself, "Wait,.... why did they do that, ....that isn't how that character would approach this situation." But the story needed them to, so they are written stupid that way.

    OK so having said all that, The Graphics look AMAZING as usual with Naughty Dog. The mechanics are better, virtually everything is better, besides the most important part. THE STORY. I had a lot more about the story i didn't like but only so much can be said in 5 thousand characters. Just like with Game of Thrones and Star Wars, this could have been one of the greatest stories in the history of media. I am literally heart broken and just like with S8 of GOT, this game totally ruins replays of the first game for me. KNOWING how god awful and ridiculously remedial part II's story ended up being.

    Above all else, it hurts leaving this game with the extreme disappointment of feeling "What could have been".    … Expand
