    Huge missed opportunity here.

    In a vacuum, this is an above average game and maybe a good game; however, this game does not exist in a vacuum...it comes as a sequel for one of the best video games of all-time with two of the most endeared characters off all-time. The standards for story-telling were set extremely high and this game fumbled it; there is just WAY too many plot holes,    Huge missed opportunity here.

    Bad writings is bad. despite how good the games look, and some new additions it has. I've kept an open mind for it, I do love the franchise, I've platinumed the first game twice in PS3 and PS4. Subverting expectations is quite common nowadays in almost everything. great writers does it by giving audiences something they didn't know they wanted/need. the game failed miserably on that part.

    The last of us 2 is a perfect game, with flawless mechanics, flawless graphics, flawless gameplay, and story that goes very well with shocking moments and stable duration.

    You may have themes of some distaste with in-game policies but you can enjoy it with no problem even with these details present.
    I must congratulate naugthy dog ​​for making such a good game, definitely a great game.

While there were a few genuinely good moments, majority of game filled up with plot holes. It just took elements of what worked for the first game without understanding what made them compelling.     The biggest con is the story. l'm not upset that they had a heavy, unsettling, surprising storyline. In fact, that can be fun and interesting and thought provoking. The the characters and backstory are so unlikeable that you can't empathize with their reasoning. The result of that is just feeling (as the player) frustrated and betrayed. I didn't enjoy the gameplay and I didn't enjoy the story and I didn't empathize or feel connected to any of the characters or their motivations. It's a bad game. Druckman made it impossible to empathize and care about new characters whilst assassinating old, well-loved ones.    … Expand

The only thing I had was my bag and dog to accompany my journey through the wasteland. It wasn't the first time I got into this incident. The last time was during the Redwood Incident. The last of us gradually developed a beautiful relationship between Joel and Ellie. Neither trusted quickly but eventually they completely relied on each other and Joel did everything to save Ellie.

    This game makes the first one meaningless. They never meet in "current time" before Joel dies and the revenge plot that the happens is petty and not even well written.

    Between Joel's death, Ellie not going through with killing Abbie and losing her fingers in the process (when Abbie bites them off), what is the point of this game. What is the message? You can't argue that the game's graphics are stunning, but all ND games are. It's expected. But graphics do not make a good game. On top of that, the game play hasn't progressed and felt old and clunky.

    Overall I was not impressed. maybe the game was hyped up too much and I expected more. Either way, I was left with a massive feeling of being let down.    … Expand

    The only thing that I really care about in a game is the story, The Last of Us Part II failed miserably in that front.
    The only reason this game gets even a 4 is for the graphics, level design, sound design, and score. If you care about the plot, relatable characters, and a good ending, this game is not for you.

    Imagine just relentlessly slaughtering hundreds of people and several dogs just to get to the person who killed the equivalent of your dad and stopping at them because you have an epiphany right after they literally bit your fingers off during the fight. Like, okay. Would never happen. If Ellie actually killed Abby it would have been an overall better story. Still bad, but better than what actually happened. And the ENTIRE TIME you're playing Abby, you just wanna go back to Ellie. You never, ever, ever care for Abby or friends. You can't. You just keep thinking about how she killed Joel. I dunno if they were ever expecting us to like Abby, or if we eventually were just supposed to, but it never happened for me. Not even close. I was so mentally checked out of her story halfway through. It was so boring.

    And even Ellie's story, I never really cared at all about Dina, and I straight up disliked Jesse. The best parts of the game were when Joel and Ellie were together again. And in my opinion, if those are the most enjoyable story parts, then there's a disconnect/failure with the game. Cause it means I'm still connected to/invested in the past. So much so that now that it's gone, I don't actually care about the present in the game.    … Expand

    Just finished the story, don’t listen to the reviewers bomb giving it a 0 without even playing the game. This was amazing, the graphics, the gameplay, the immersive world, the story, the characters and the brutality of this game will stay with me for years to come. A true masterpiece!

I hate the story I hate how what they too the characters and their motivations and what the characters do in this game. I truly think what they did to these character is f****** disgusting a lot of people are going to defend this game and that's their right that's fine but some of the decisions that the characters making this game make no f****** sense and this just shows that lately sequels and and series is have been having the worst and **** story-driven games and a long time and it's really sad because a lot of these could be good. Joel death is sad but the way he died and how he died is very dumb that's not how he would have died in the first game but in the sequel after four years apparently he's just dumb now was disgusting and should have been in the game and the ending is a big smack to the face to anyone who wanted to see Justice to what this big burly woman did to the Joel.I truly hope that better storytelling can be applied to games in the future but now we're just stuck with all this sad **** that no one wants ever.… Expand

I am already playing it, and it was not as ambitious a game as they were commenting, those of naughty dog, I have noticed many bugs, a very serious downgrade, and I see that it has the same graphic engine as the first one. Abby's character seems like a robot, what an ugly character, I am playing as fast as possible to be able to kill her in the bloodiest way, because heck how horrible is, I have also noticed some lows of incredible frames, and even so the notes gave it a 96 and almost 100 in all really?, this smells like you paid journalists very well, that game becomes monotonous and continuous in graphics and things to do, the ps4 pro can not over there I suppose I think that in the next generation the graphic change will be noticed a little more and the game will be more fluid in terms of frames. The gameplay is extremely repetitive by the half way point its almost tiresome to play. The cut scenes make up 11 hours of this game, yes, over half of this game you are forced to watch this hideous story play out. The other half you are forced to play as a character 99% of people do not wish to play.

    The hate on this game is not because of the social agendas being pushed so heavily, rather, its drawn out repetitive gameplay, terribly written story, and Neils promise to us (Part 1 fans) that this game was meant for us. I cannot believe that you built such an amazing world and characters only to tear it down rather than build it up.    … Expand

    This game is amazing, the score, the acting, gameplay is so much improved, and yes, the story is taking major risks, but the actions are explained over the course of the game. I highly recommend this game, it is a must play, and in my humble opinion the future GOTY.

    Not really my cup of tea. I typically stick to the early 2000's Tiger Woods games but my grandson convinced me to play this garbage. I could barely understand what the heck was going on and the controls were difficult.

I fully regret preordering tLoU2, perhaps I should have paid attention to the spoilers that were released earlier so that I could have cancelled my preorder. Not only was a likable character from the first game killed off, but you are expected to sympathize with his killer! The presentation of the story is very pretentious and the gameplay isn't much better. I was so fed up with the game several hours in that I just watched my favorite streamer complete the rest so that I could laugh at it in peace. I hope I can return this game or sell it to one of my friends so that I'm not in a complete loss… Expand

    Everyone who is giving it a 1 or a 10 is what’s wrong with the gaming community today. The game takes risks, some work some really don’t. But it will engross you like very few narratives before it will have. The gameplay is tense, fluid and frankly incredible. It isn’t a masterpiece by any means, but everyone who is giving it a 1 needs to seriously stop being a little biitch about everything
