НО(!), щачем нудно было убивать Джоэла в самом начале игры, зачем нам показывать в сюжете одну месть. Зачем нам нужна Эбби(терминатор), зачем нам показывают её жизнь и так сказать дают сравнить терминатора с Элии. Зачем, зачем, зачем.... 5/10, где 4 - графика и прочие мелочи и ещё +1 балл за концовку, которая даёт понять, что будет продолжение. Нил, услышь нас и убери все недочёты хотя бы в DLC… Expand

    When you finish the game you are gonna ask yourself "Was it worth it? " Answer is for me a big NO. Except gameplay this game is pixar movie. Good animated one but with a bad story. I can watch a bad pixar movie for 10 dolar or I can get a Disney+ and watch a bunch of good animation movie. This GAME does not deserve 60 dolar.

    Truly a disappointment. First off I can’t stand SJW stuff, never have never will. TLOU2 ruined some of my favorite characters. I can’t believe I waited 6 years for this. I keep thinking this is just a bad dream and I’ll wake up to a solid game that everyone loves :(. The sex scene was kind of hot though I wish there was more of that.     I passed the game after about 21 hours. In terms of graphics, designed world is probably the best game on ps4, there are small bugs, but I do not like how the story was run, here the game deserves 4 max 5/10. In terms of gameplay, there is nothing revolutionary here, I would say that it is simply boring, just such a development of the first part. I had the impression that the game is a bitI passed the game after about 21 hours. But is graphics in games the most important? NO. That's why I don't understand why NaughtDog decided to lead the narrative like that. It could have been an outstanding game but unfortunately in my opinion it is at most good. The game does not deserve 0 but as well as 10.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After a few hours in this game it’s exactly what I expected. A lot of the combat and controls feel recycled and marginally improved if at all. The graphics are a step up, but the gameplay feels monotonous. There are strange mini-games and constant swapping between characters which kind of feels out of place.

    Beyond the gameplay comes a feeling of forced inclusion as the story rips apart everything that the first game built up. The beautiful strong character dynamics shared by Ellie and Joel is destroyed in this game (literally). Only to be replaced by seemingly forced indoctrination into an LGBT community where transsexual, and homosexual ideals take center stage. Even to include an extremely perverse scene of sexual intercourse between two males. This game serves no purpose beyond pushing an agenda and destroying the legacy of an amazing game. I recommend you avoid at all costs.    … Expand

    Absolute technological marvel from the whole technical team at Naughty Dog. The level of quality and skill of craft is seen from beginning to end and I cannot praise this high enough. Even on the base PS4 you will be in awe as you explore the varied environments over the course of the game. The world comes alive from trash on the streets, clutter in the    - There are no spoilers below. -

    Absolute technological marvel from the whole technical team at Naughty Dog. The level of quality and skill of craft is seen from beginning to end and I cannot praise this high enough. Even on the base PS4 you will be in awe as you explore the varied environments over the course of the game. The world comes alive from trash on the streets, clutter in the houses, light sources that react to everyday materials and nature, textures and meshes that mimic real life, foliage breaking through cracks of a collapsed society, and sound design that brings you into the brutal world you know from the first game.

    Unfortunately, the experience is ruined by poor writing and story telling from the first death to the last, through hundreds of infected, humans, and even animals. The progress of story telling jumps all over the place, characters are dull and only introduced to throw into the meat grinder, and everything is misery for the sake of shock. Characters from all representations are introduced over the course of the game which is a great step forward for all groups, but actually sympathizing or caring about them will be a hard sell for many. You will be angry, frustrated, and wanting to rush through much of the story in attempts to bring back focus for another character.

    The game reads like an attempt to be but falls on its head with a hard fail of an ending that is left open for more of the same in the future. Some major restructuring would have done this game some benefits and likely avoided how it is being absolutely **** on right no by the general majority. Is this saying that review bombing is good in this case? No. I want to warn people; The trailers cannot be trusted and have edited footage for pushing sales.

    I cannot recommend this game. If you were a fan of the first just leave it as that. If you come into this you will feel like walking away by hour 3. You will have half of the 25 hours playtime (on average) in this state of mind. This is by-design and in no way to the benefit of the player.

    The Last of Us was lightning in a bottle and will not happen again at the Naughty Dog studio under the current director and writers. Violence is bad and we all know it and this isn't introducing new concepts or becoming an instance classic. You are hurting your existing brand and will only be remembered for that.    … Expand

We end up with a nice but tasteless game, with a gameplay that has notA cold shower.     While in TLOU you get to see how Joel saved Ellie by killing a surgeon and stopped humanity’s only chance at finding a cure, in the TLOU 2, you get to know who the surgeon was, who his daughter Abby was and who his close and loved ones were – but only after you watch them kill off Joel

    The character building in this game is strong and nuanced

    You get to see Marlene and this surgeon at odds with themselves about carrying out the surgery, knowing it would cost Ellie her life, given how he’s a father himself - Abby says she would’ve given her life had it been her - and finally how Abby had her father taken away from her at the hands of Joel

    While Joel’s death at the start is jarring, it gets the player riled up enough to want to go after Abby

    Its only after this that you get to know Abby better as a person, her dad and her whole crew better and have a moment of, “Holy **** if someone did that to my dad, I wouldn’t care, I’d want to kill them too”

    Neither Ellie or Abby are objectively bad people, but an ‘eye for an eye’ world causes them both to kill off each other’s loved ones off till they’re the last people standing – while going after each other, Abby and Ellie simultaneously get to know each other and where they’re both coming from respectively The gameplay is realistic, brutal and visceral - stealth is on point, and the gunplay and melee combat is waaay better than TLOU - you have to time your dodges and hits right, and its very engaging - the seamless transitions from cinematic to gameplay are amazing

    Yeah there are lesbian characters, POCs and a sex scene in the game, but that’s just part of storytelling, the same as it would be on a Netflix show

    Like in the real world, people take digs at each other and talk and act believably This game is riddled with moments of characters making ‘bad’ decisions under pressure and a fit of rage, which is also realistic - have you never been on the spot and made a bad move because your anger couldn’t let you think straight?

    The message this game sends in a time when the world is so riddled with chaos and a thirst for vengeance is a message that resonated with me You could avenge someone, but it would never end there - someone who cared for them will always come around to get back at you - its a cycle that’ll never break unless someone decides to be the better person and ultimately forgive the other

    I’m with the critics on this one, its a 10/10 for me    … Expand

    A lot of the promotiona footage was altered to make you think you are geting Joel but in reality they ither replaced a character that is actually there in the ingame cutscene or "aged up" Joel and Ellie to make it look like it's not a flashback. In reality Joel get's killed in a completly retarded way cause Niel Druckman wanted to make torture p0rn. The rest of the game is all abaut revenge but in the end we don't even get that cause Ellie decides not to kill the golfer that beat Joel to death cause... revege is bad? This is after she killed a ton of other people in her persuit of revenge but she randomly decides that the one who actually killed Joel can live. I'm suuuure this has nothing to do with the fact that Hulk golfer and "deffinitly not Niel Druckman" **** in the game.

    The "game" parts are good so i guess it's technicly better than COD and whatnot but this story deserves a dedicated "storyless mode".

    Overall, this is a bad movie sequal on a good but not amazing game skeleton.

    Any normal and avid movie fan can analyse this story and see the gaping plot holes that exist within the character arcs, the stories narrative, it offers ZERO cohesion from the last game, the narrative ideas and tropes are taken straight from Quentin Tarrantino's works (speaks for the originality of the lead writer). There is no levity or nothing really that the fans have been dying to find out, nothing original from the first game, just a tone deaf piece of work from Neil Druckman who said, and I quote "We don't use the word Fun": a walking simulator with sleepy cutscenes in between tackily placed, repetitive gameplay and artificial game lengtheners resounds with his philosophy.

    This game is not in any way a masterpiece, to characterize it that way would do a disservice to the meaning of the word itself. It is an "Okay" story, with overused ideas, executed in a disappointingly disorganized way.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. that particular death in the game is so cheap and so unearned that it ruins the entire experience moving forward. having to play as the antagonist is an insult most players likely wont be willing to suffer. this is a game so dismal that there are no happy endings or hope anywhere to be found here. in a game where you keep getting the lesson 'murder is bad' but you can't actually prevent any of those senseless murders the only moral choice is not to play which seems to be what they want you to do. i think the thing that annoys me the most is the pretense that the game is trying to teach some sort of lesson when it's obvious the game was only designed to make the audience angry… Expand

    If you destroy the story with which we fell in love with the first game, do it smarter. Do they think they are original for doing what they did? You can have the best graphics and gameplay, but if you want to generate forced empathy you will not achieve ANYTHING.

    Star Wars, Game of Thrones season 7&8 and now Last of Us Part 2, what is wrong with the writers today. Where is coherent and creative storytelling gone. Such a beloved game ruined in everyway for a political movement. No wonder most of the studio/team left. Really disappointing.

    11 hours in and I gave up. The game is very repetative and besides the flashbacks and the car scene there is nothing of interest here. A total waste of money. The insult to injury are the flashback which are the exact game I would like to play.

All I want to say is that if you are a fan of part 1, you probably should not buy this part two. I wish this game ends 7 years ago. I used to preorder any Naughty dog games. I won’t do it anymore.

Why did we need to see a scene of someone getting taken from behind with nudity? Why wasn't that censored Sony? Not to mention it's unsafe sex. Not talking about a condom, it's anal with no prep or lube. It doesn't work that way people.
    When the game play is walking/sneaking between point a and b and then watch some cut scenes, maybe kill someone it gets stale quick. Which is what this game is.
    Swinging from ropes isn't something new to boast about, pitfall and DK have been doing it for over 30 years. The killing in this game is pretty much what you've seen in other killing games for the past 10 years as well. The only new thing this game really brings is the trans character, who was mocapped by someone not matching the body type at all, and is **** on for most of the game and even dead named.
    They tried for so many brownie points for their game and it just fails in all of those categories. It's almost like they used a dart board to figure out what buzzwords they wanted to use in the game to make it appeal to as many young people as possible, but in doing so made a pretty meh game at the end of the day.
    Finally let's also not forget about they bait and switching their trailers and ads for the game, by replacing a very important character from the ads with some other guy we care way less about in the game.

    Another thing that "bothered" me is the amount of "young girl on young girl" actions in this game, to the point I wondered if it wasn't bordering on fetishism from the creator.

Don't take my word for it, go watch gameplay videos on YouTube (from real gamers, not the shills), before you decide to buy--you'll be glad you did.

    Okay, so what's the long version...

    The Last of Us (what we now call "part 1") was an amazing game! I purchased a PS4 just for that game (I wait for the remastered version and it was totally worth it)! The game had excellent graphics, fantastic sound (effects and music), and absolutely solid gameplay. However, where The Last of Us really shined was in the fantastic story line. The best games are the ones which make you feel like a participant in a really good movie, and that's exactly what The Last of Us did. You really cared about Joel and Ellie, and couldn't wait to find out what happens next.

    We got the answer.

    So, let's be fair and start with the GOOD.
    Like part 1, the sequel provides beautiful graphics and level environments. Likewise, sounds is also good. The gameplay is also still solid with some decent improvements that add to the game. And that's about it.

    Now for the BAD.
    [SPOILERS]
    As I said, the story is EVERYTHING. For about the first couple of hours, the store was good. Then, a train wreak happens. Joel is killed in one of the stupidest scenes I've ever seen! After saving Abby from a horde of zombies and returning her home, they all walk into a back room and all of a sudden, Abby shoots him in the leg. She then has her men put a tourniquet on his leg, and then immediate proceeds to beat him to death with a golf club in front of Ellie (yes, it's as stupid as it sounds!). It was like one of the devs was watching Game of Thrones re-runs and decided they wanted to have a shocking and unexpected death scene for a main character because... reasons. And Joel, the guy who went through heII and back to save Ellie, now just sits there and takes it. It was little more than shock-porn and leaves the player rolling their eyes and wondering if they even want to continue playing. The story is a complete mess from that point forward, and the player is often pigeon-holed into doing stuff (often stuff that they really don't want to do) just to move the story forward.

    And this is why the game is such a complete failure. In the first game, you cared about Joel and Ellie and wanted to see what happens next. The gameplay and story were compelling and, like a great book, you were hard-pressed to put it down. The one, however, burns all that to the ground within the first two hours of gameplay. You quickly get to a point where you simply don't care about the story anymore. Joel died pointlessly, and now Ellie is on a quest for revenge (honestly, there was more depth in John Wick's quest for vengeance!). So what happens? She kills everyone involved EXCEPT Abby... she let's her live in what can only be described as a giant middle-finger to fans of the first game.

    And that's assuming you actually play to the end. I would be willing to bet that most people will only play a few hours, and then never finish the game because, when they think about firing it up again, they are like, "Meh."    … Expand

    it is possibly one of the worst sequels to a great game due to various reasons:
    1:The Last of us was a game that received universal acclaim due to it's great storytelling , which this game completely abandons , there is no character development, joel's death is executed so poorly , it seems that the writers just forgot who he was in the first game.

    2: Joel's killer abby is simply a forced insertion of a character that serves as a hook for the rest of the game's theme (revenge).We are then forced to play as her and her backstory in order to sympathize with her, which is just lazy writing because this formula can be applied to any character that joel had something to do with in the game.

    3:Finally after the gruesome killing spree that ellie goes on in order to avenge joel;s death , in the end she forgives abby , which just leaves the players with no sense of accomplishment .

    This game is just an excuse for a political message that neil druckmann had been wanting to give for a very long time. It clearly shows :
    1: Neil druckmann being inspired by anita sarkeesian(a toxic feminist)

    2: His views on female characters in video games being sexualized (which is actually how women look like imo rather than a male bodybuiler lookalike abby).

    3:Forced sex scene of abby and owen (which is neil druckmann's self insert) and looks more like two guys pegging each other .

    4:This double standard that natural women with curvy bodies are bad but gay/lesbian/trans porn is good.ex: Sony censoring many anime games from japan but allowing abby and owen's sex scene

    Overall this game is a reminder that toxic feminism , sjw politics and woke agenda are bad for any entertainment product (which seems to be the case in western media nowadays )ex: Star Wars the last jedi , doctor who , this game etc .     Gameplay: 8/10 It's the same gameplay as the first game, for better or worse. Slightly worse in some areas but can't complain about what was already good having some stains.

    Graphics: 10/10. Look at it. What do I need to explain?

    Consistency: 4/10 What is consistency? Why it's keeping things in line with established knowledge and lore. This game fails at it on several occasions. The inconsistency on Joel's personality, Ellie's personality, Ellie's immunity, and established clicker lore is terrible.

    Story: 4/10 Look at this point I don't need to tell you how to feel about the story. Personally I thought it was trite and poorly handled. I have some closing thoughts but as a story, it's okay at best. The beats and ideas they chose to do aren't the problems. It's arriving at them and how they're handled. None of these ideas are new, but the presentation and manner we experience them are **** terrible. That being said, Ellie and Dina do not have the carrying power that Joel and Ellie had, or even Nathan and anyone else in an Uncharted game. Maybe you'll feel differently and be engaged but for me, they were boring.

    PR: 0/10 [SPOILERS IN THIS SECTION] Neil Druckmann, regardless of what can be proven or not strikes me as insufferable. To the potential OC who spits on our old protagonist and almost shoots the new one. The new protag who despite getting their revenge doesn't suffer for it at all. The same protag who is then **** and railed by possible Druckmann OC. The masochistic interviews that amount the game to no fun here and the alleged mistreatment of employees all really make me not like this game from the outset and I'll admit that. So if you think any part of this review has a bias, maybe that's why.

    Overall: Eh/10. I wasn't going to buy 2, but I made sure I got a taste of what's here. And what's here sucks. This feels like a video game in which Druckmann decided he'd do what he wanted, tell a story in which he spat on the first game in every conceivable way possible, and then the actual gameplay was an afterthought. I would not be surprised if there was a plan to have you run through this game with zero combat. Because Druckmann thinks he's Kojima.

    I don't know why the game seems to hate the first one so much, but it's apparent. And if you find some joy in this game, more power to you. You spent 60 bucks on this product and you deserve to get something out of it, even if I think it's a waste of your money.

    All in all, just go play Last of Us 1 and enjoy it. Because this game will actively poison any desire to revisit the franchise. If you take anything away from this review, there are better games to play, including the original. Lisa, Pathologic, and others do this kind of idea way better.

    There's a lot more to go into but I've already written way more then I was willing to.

    As a videogame it's a 6, as a sequel, it's a 4. And as a piece of media, I beg every single one of you to never play this game.

    The insertion of peak 2016 identity politics and 'rian johnsoning' of the story dissolve any credibility with this project. Complete with a bleak and dull story and weak subversion of sarkesian proportions that make this an absolute pantomime performance. Nice graphics. Massively unlikeable characters.

    should have made a straight to TV movie instead.

    Abby would have been better character if they didn't set up the death in that context, the storytelling is bad and upside down, it could have been done midway or above through a different way where you make players love Abby too but then **** goes down, and you could have made the fight between the two is mixed like she kicks Abby and you blink and you are taking control of Abby now and then like that until it fit more sensibly, this was poor taste, this plot is ok but not in that arrangement, i wish i love to play Abby i liked her but the **** her story tooooooooooooooooooooooooo early, i dont care about SJW stuff in the game as long as i enjoy the game, but i hated how they told the story and how they ended joel story, they should have made people love Abby in gameplay with her time then make the player torn when the times is up, not like that im sad.

Вначале играют на ностальгии, пытаются вызвать у вас всякие чувства, напоминают первую часть, а потом уже спустя всего два часа вам жестко плюют в лицо и посылают нах*р. Если посмотреть на эту историю как на самостоятельную, то можно увидеть, что она не просто на порядок хуже предыдущей - она просто ужастна. Мнение складывается, что игра делалась исключительно что бы показать все популярные на данный момент темы как SJW и прочее подобное. Из плюсов в игре есть только хорошая графика и геймлей, правда и тот просто перекочевавший из первой части с наработки в виде ползонья и уворотов. В итоге мы получаем просто кальку на первую всеми любимую часть, которая без хорошего сюжета никому не нужна в помине. Честно признаюсь, я пожалел, что увидел эту игру.     Abby beats Joel to death with a golf club, in front of Ellie. Then later Abby kills Dina. Then they make us play as Abby. They try and make us sympathize with her. Oh, she likes dogs, she is good, Ellie kills dogs, Ellie is bad. Abby's mom hates her, deadnames her, and misgendered her.     I defended this game from bad criticism but after finishing it I can no longer. Perfect until episode six but thereafter it's horrible. The end is simply RIDICULOUS !!!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I won`t take in mind the whole l/g/b/t, fem.dom., and other minority groups propaganda and it`s nothing than propaganda because if you make Ellie heterosexual and change Dina on a guy it won`t affect the story line at all.
    But let`s talk about storyline. The way they put out Joel (one of the most loved and important character) is awful. They just kill him to start the plot of part 2 and the only emotion I felt was anger to the person who wrote this story. There were so many ways to make it better, to create a wave of emotions in fan`s community... but looks like they were only occupied on creating the whole propaganda on each corner of the story. The moment I saw how they (story-makers) killed Joel, I immediately canceled my pre-order of the game and I won`t buy it, because I don`t want to support such games were propaganda and minorities who don`t play games are put in first priority, despite the fan`s community. I know that gameplay and graphics (not sure lol) were improved but this game was never about this. This game was about story and atmosphere. And this is only one big gap in the story-line.
    I hope that this comment will help people. It`s only my humble opinion. But I believe in the gamers community. We can change the way game-devs think about us. We are not only wallets and we don`t buy those fakes idea they try to sell us. We showed it on the DLC of Rome total war 2, COD MW, Battlefield 5, Star wars battlefront 2 and many many others.

The fact that "professional video-gaming media" loves this game doesn't mean that the general public would like it, I personally think that trying to include politics into the game have led to take bad decisions when telling the story, if they had focused on developing the stories without including all the political crap and the trends that the mainstream media and SJ Ws pulled out last year I think it could've been received better by the fan base. I played the first one in PS3 and then in PS4 even though it was a good game I wasn't in love with it like the media, with this one I'm not even wasting my money.… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
