    The graphics were more advanced than the previous one, and the setting of a suitable place was outstanding.
    The actors' performances and the background music of the game were good, so the game characters' emotional descriptions were accurately conveyed.
    Compared to the previous work, the game seemed to have increased convenience and adjusted difficulty, and the elements that were seen in the Uncharted were added.
    It was okay to be able to play a variety of games accordingly.
    I really liked the scene that shows Joel's paternal love towards Ellie and the scene where she realized his preciousness after losing Joel.
    Obviously, I liked the production of the game on some of the situations.

    Now that I've told you all the strengths I have in mind, I'll tell you the disadvantages.
    setting destruction
    I kept showing Ellie to the player as a marksman, but I didn't get a hit in front of Abby.
    Dina needs a gun to be normal, but she'll be bowled down with a knife.
    In the first movie, Joel continues to show that he is a very cautious character, and especially in the ending, but in the second movie, he shows his carelessness and dies.
    And she doesn't even know why she killed Joel, but she's saving him.
    And Ellie had a gun, but she didn't shoot Abby.
    The player cannot concentrate on the game due to this setting destruction.

    Also, the game made fans feel unhappy as it had a composition that seemed to deny the first episode.
    1. Kill Joel, the main character of The Last of Us 1.
    2. That doesn't mean Joel has been doing well with Ellie.
    3. No one can avenge Joel, but rather the person around Ellie dies or gets hurt or leaves Ellie.
    4. Is Ellie so happy? Ellie has a trauma about Joel's death.

    Abby certainly had a reason, but it was a big mistake for the person who played The Last Of Us.
    The game tries to force a consensus by playing Evie who doesn't want to play to the player himself, but the player can't fully immerse himself.
    Abby first shows that there is a reason, but the story behind it seems to be only an excuse from the point of view of the person who played the first episode.
    Also, what made the player hit Ellie through Abby made the player feel the end of his squalor.
    If this game was a new ip for Naughty Dog, it would have focused on praise, but since it was a series of previous works, the score would naturally be lowered.
    Obviously the game quality was good, and it could have been better, but the order and composition of the game play and the destruction of probability lowered the value of the game.

I didn't care who was who what they like what they are what everything, what bother me how much emotional investment the devs tried to shove down through your throat just to be pointless (literally) the characters aren't memorable, let alone the plot (which the character needed to carry) when Abby was about to kill Dina at that point I was "just **** do it, I want this **** to be over" she didn't, and that's when i found out this is a new age torture technique. The game just overstay and I mean OVERSTAY its welcome, too long for too little, only shred of emotion I felt besides frustration was when Alice the dog dies, truly didn't deserved :(, LISTEN TO ME STOP CRYING OVER WHO KILLED WHO, BECAUSE BELIEVE, IN THIS GAME EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE DEAD, and goddamn they sure feel that way.

    TL DR: The (in)famous sex scene with Abby and the other dude (not memorable, and apparently important.) represent in a beautiful way, the reality of this, we are this strong person getting pounded, bend over and just going to town by someone who simply do not give a **** (literally dude cried over some **** after killing dozen innocent people he said "nah" and tried to escape from his mistakes, then kill his friend? comrade? and Abby (the people to obtuse to admit this **** sucks and payed critics.) just forgive me because Love :3.

    7 years and this is what we get? The story is terrible paired with the lack of innovation from the last release. The game itself is serviceable but the story is so trash, don't spend your money on something that we were lied to about during advertising.

    All the hype about the game didn’t worth it. I just disappointed that so many people from Naughty Dog spent their time to made this crap. Beautiful animation, awesome details, but totally disappointing and boring gameplay, awful story and no choices in the end. I hate the fact, that I can’t kill damn Abby. And can’t refund this “game” - it’s more fun to watch it on YouTube then play.

    terrible story writing, terrible ending, terrible decision making, terrible characters. You are forced to play with characters you will absolutely hate.

    Don't buy it. I wouldn't play the game for free if the game wouldn't cost me a cent. Waste of time, just play Skyrim, Witcher 3 or whatever for another 30 hours..    … Expand

    This game has great graphics and music, but that’s not enough to save this game. It has an awful story, which is kind of important in a story-driven game. This game has incredibly high expectations, and it fell incredibly flat.

    It's the best game in which I played and this game changed my view of human relationships.
    It is great sequel and I hope will play The last of us part III in future.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As a huge fan of the story behind The Last of Us Part 1, the 2nd addition to the story and franchise just leaves me in disgust. A lot of things are PHENOMENAL. The intro for instance was a genius of artwork - however what followed such a STRONG and EMOTIONAL opening to The Last of Us Part 2 only ends in what I mentioned earlier - disgust.

    Pros:
    - Beautiful set pieces, graphics, all of the usual Naughty Dog things.
    - More sense of an "open world" exploration to the game.
    - Well realized world building.

    Cons:
    -The centerpiece of the game. The story.
    -Contradictory game play to the story building cinematics
    > How are we gonna see Ellie break down in panic and trauma after killing certain people in cut scenes after she MERCILESSLY butchered down hundreds of people in quick fashion as if it was the normal daily cup of joe for the day? This did not make sense and makes the player feel at odds with what Naughty Dog is trying to convey.
    -Obvious plot holes and synchronization issues to the characters we KNEW and LOVED from part 1.
    > You're trying to tell me Joel, the killing machine himself with very little trust in ANYONE'S intentions (rightfully so in the cruel and grim world The Last of us Part 1 builds) is going to help a stranger that is on their patrol grounds and then go to THEIR HIDEOUT in an EXTREMELY VULNERABLE FASHION when Abby CONFIRMS THEY ARE ARMED AND HAVE A PERIMETER? This made absolutely no sense and was the worst way to introduce a moment of extreme gravity. It's not that it was done, it's HOW it was done. This is such a shame.

    It's a shame this game will make GOTY nominations and receive a ton of rewards due to it's progressive and LGBTQ themes that are heavily littered through-out the game. These concepts and real life political topics are abused by game developers to 1. Shield themselves from negative reception, because "The people who dislike it are just bigots." and 2. The people who set up these rewards tend to LOVE it, and they (Naughty Dog) KNOW that. This is a spit in the face to the LBGTQ community and some realize that they are only being used as a shield for award nominations / GOTY nominations.

    I can only give this game, as it is STORY CENTRIC, a 3 out of 10 at best. I'm sorry, and this sequel deeply disappointing me, as a prior HUGE fan of Naughty Dog.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So one night Neil got drunk and wanted to make a sequel to The Last Of Us, after a long 7 year later, this "Game"(according to them) comes. Now when I played it. The first 2 hours were actually going fine then bam! They killed of Joel. The badass Joel that we knew dies like a p***y. I said okay, now at the end of the game as Ellie, we're going to take our revenge even though Ellie doesn't like Joel. After hours, we begin to play as the one who killed Joel for a big amount of time. Well done Naughty Dog! But even though they didn't add much to the gameplay, the details of the ones that we kill are well designed.

Last Of Us 2 throws all character development and effort in story building for who knows what. Graphic is good but what’s the point when the story is so **** it makes you want to commit seppuku. The game forces down your throat with politics and messages that makes the character interaction so weird and unnatural.

    Joe dies in the early play time no build up, no effort to make it seem redeemable just wasted character for their game of shock value. You feel so **** that after joe dies you regret even playing it. I can’t even tell you how much I sighed and whined. You are also force to give a **** and care about the character Abby that killed Joe by playing as her WTF? Why is this game even developed in the first place ? The game in summary just touched on how revenge is bad like WTF? It’s the apocalypse did the story developer not remember what their making. In those time’s you meet “clickers” your reminded it’s the last of us and it’s over-run by zombies. [summary]

Ellie has become some vengeful hardass and is completely unlikable. Infact, no one in the story that I've seen is likable. And the sex scenes.. mocapped.. what the hell? Who are all these unlikable characters, and why is Ellie all of a sudden a lesbian? As a gay person I'm offended at the blatant pandering to try and get people who don't even like video games to congratulate how woke you are. What a trashfire!… Expand

    After blasting through it this weekend I can honestly say it was a great disappointment when compared to the first, level designs seemed alot better and graphically it is stunning but the game play felt so similar to the previous one and I expected more from a ps4 title...     TLOU Part II is a great game and a wonderful sequel to the first game...
    The graphics are insane!
    Both enemies and allies AI are awesome (in a +moderate difficulty) The story is perfect and the way that naughty dog staged it is just god tier!!!
    You'll love it so much, this game is a must-play, just play it with an open minde instead of blindly hating it....

    Pero lamentablemente la historia (PORQUE PARA MI LA HISTORIA ES LO QUE LO HACE FAMOSO) por mas que Neil Druckman merece todo por la primera parte, pero por mas que quieran demostrar una historia para darnos una "enseñansa", la historia no debió ser asi, lo siento pero la historia es pésima, da pena verlo y aceptarlo, mucha confusión por mas que hayan lineas de tiempo pero llegan horas en las que extrañamos a Ellie y a Joel y nadie quiere saber quien es Abby. Pudo haber arregla "algo" al final matar a Abby pero ni eso, lo siento pero soy un gran fan y me dejaron muy tocado con esta secuela. ESTOY TRISTE !    … Expand

    TLOUS II es un súper juego, me atrevería a decir que es un juego que se perfila a dominación juego del año... yo creo que la historia fue muy repetitiva y realmente tengo que aceptar que no fue tan buena, pero vaya que es juegazo, hay momentos de tension que hasta me hacen sudar, o hay momentos de tranquilidad que puedo disfrutar los hermoso gráficos. It shows what revenge and pain can do to people, and how it can change you as a whole. It’s just marvellous and probably one of the best most compelling story’s ever to exist in the gaming industry.     After 2 days, I finally finished this game. Wow, it has problems and some plot holes. But, the message this game conveys is so strong. It shows what revenge and pain can do to people, and how it can change you as a whole. It’s just marvellous and probably one of the best most compelling story’s ever to exist in the gaming industry. But still, some plot holes lay. This story didn’t settle with me well at first, it hurt my heart and stomach, it still does. Giving me some sort of depression, that is still settling within me. This has only happened to me twice, with RDR2 and now this. It should go away in a week or so, but the point is, you must let this game settle for a bit before reviewing it. And I can’t stress this enough, you need to play this game, or at least watch all 10 hours of cutscenes before you even have the right to judge it.

    Gameplay:
    Utterly revolutionary and ground breaking. A true game changer for future games to uphold or let alone compete with. A new bar has been set, this is just one of the next steps towards a new generation of games.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. 要理解整个剧本，先要找出两条线索。一条明线是爱莉和埃比的对应，这条是给玩家看的；一条暗线是埃比和乔尔的对应，这条则是给爱莉看的。 明线的对应应该说是显眼到有些刻意了——爱莉的乔尔被杀了，埃比的父亲也被杀了；爱莉的女朋友怀孕了，埃比的队伍里也有孕妇；爱莉的朋友被杀了，埃比的朋友也被杀了；爱莉的马被杀了，埃比的狗也被杀了。通过流程中刻意安排好的种种桥段，编剧很明显就想告诉一件事，你不是喜欢爱莉吗，你不是跟爱莉共情气到摔手柄吗？埃比也是一样的，看看她们多相似啊！如果你同样玩完这两份西雅图前三天，却对其中一方仍有偏爱，是不是说明你这个人有失公允？游戏玩家，是一个对于设定严谨度接受很宽松的群体，一不留神就被鸡贼编剧给道德绑架了而不自知。 但是事实上她们真的可以划等号吗？在埃比篇的开头，剧作就露出马脚了。在火荧办公室里，埃比父亲被质问“如果这是你的女儿你还会做手术吗？”的时候，他是答不上来的，心里当然是不愿意的。后来埃比进门，老大做出决断，这个时候对着本来心里有愧的医生父亲，埃比说了一句什么？“如果是我的话，我会做。”这话听起来多么深明大义，多么正义凛然，但是你是实际上你是爱莉吗？你不是啊！火荧老大这么问，只是想激发医生的良心拷问，并不是说你埃比的生命就可以和爱莉划等号啊！难道你轻飘飘的说一句“我愿意”，看不到明天太阳的就是你吗？说到底自己的生命难道不应该只有爱莉自己可以决断吗？在替父亲道德开脱的时候，埃比早已成为了这起谋杀未遂的共犯。 再回头讲一下暗线。埃比线实际讲了个什么故事呢？肌肉发达的白人女救世主试图拯救两个愚昧无知的亚裔换皮印第安人。这个既视感超重的路线最终目的就是成为一个微缩版的乔尔救爱莉。如果说第一部给玩家留下了什么印象的话，那就是一个人对于另一个可以有多重要。无论你是什么老奸巨猾的走私犯，还是军事组织的头号杀手，只要你去爱人，那救赎之道自在其中。在第二幕的结局里，爱莉因为恨而忘记了爱，失去了重要的爱人与孩子，甚至失去了弹奏吉他的能力，而吉他在这里，正是乔尔留给她爱的象征，是仇恨吞噬了这一切。爱莉在杀死埃比前的最后一刻，看清了这条写给她的暗线，于是放下屠刀，这不是她的救赎，她已经失去的无法挽回并因此失去了更多，这是她送给埃比的救赎之路。 但是暗线最后是怎么交代的呢？直 接 给 了 个 闪 回 ！当你有30个小时来讲你蓄谋已久的主题的时候，却选择了最简单直白最弱智的方法来揭示。太 低 级 了 ！如此一来你作为游戏叙事的优势又何在呢？要知道第一部的剧情是没有这种结构框架的，只是单纯通过春夏秋冬的漫长旅途来慢慢培养起角色之间感情上和生活上的相互依赖。这可是只有游戏能办的到的优势，因为时间真的太长了，3个小时和30个小时的区别就是量变引起质变。而这一部大纲拟好之后，所有剧情和设定都在为明暗两条线服务，但是暗线时长能有多久呢？5个小时？里面有那么多生死相依肝胆相照吗？有一些，但远远不够。反正游戏玩家要求低，只要给出设定他们大概也会接受。第二幕为了这种愚蠢的格式对照，而放弃了第一幕最为精彩的细水长流的叙事体系，这也是为什么第二幕的失败，是剧作上的失败。 其实为了结局放下屠刀，在前期剧情里加入了很多细节来铺垫。比如这一代被枪杀的人叫得格外凄惨，比如在地铁求饶的防毒面罩男，还有岸边玩ps4的亚裔女孩（甚至出现了两次），他们是如此能引发共情，结果却是你不杀他们他们还是要杀你，这游戏说到底不给你选择的，甚至后面还出现了操控埃比砍爱莉这种匪夷所思的剧情要求。你逼我用暴力的方式解决前置问题，却不让我解决最终问题，还要使我反思，这样的做法我相信不是每个人都可以获得共情的。 乔尔的死已经不想讨论了，剧本创作要他死，可以，但是以这种不入流电视剧的水准去死，只能送顽皮狗一句活该炎上。至于某些通关之后反过来为之拍手叫好的人，我只有一个问题，当你在维护顽皮狗的时候你在维护什么。… Expand

    Gameplay is relatively unchanged; you can jump and dodge now. The weapons are mostly the same but have some differences. You still have that annoying weapon sway, as though you’ve been on a two day bender where drinks were free and your liver is on it’s last legs. Honestly, I get that Ellie isn’t a Black Ops warrior but I’m pretty sure she can hold a 9mm steady for 5 seconds and get a head shot in. FFS. You get several companions and they still get in your way on occasion, just like the first game. They stand in doorways, get in your cover when your trying to keep from being seen, even keep you from running away when you’re being chased.
    Bugs, honestly didn’t think this would happen. I fell through the world. Twice. Lots of light coming through cracks in walls, floors, everywhere. Constantly had to press Triangle to interact with objects to loot or open doors, drawers, etc.. Graphics glitch had a waterfall looking like a great big golden lego at one point until I got closer to it when it finally resolved. I play on PS4 Pro BTW with 1080p TV, TYVM.
    You play as Ellie and a new character Abby, the daughter of the Doctor we killed in the first game.
    His death is at the heart of this whole mess, so let’s stop for a moment. Apparently, we learn that he was the only surgeon/scientist left that could have developed a cure. Where was he going to do his research? With what equipment or technology? The year is 2033 and the world has gone to **** there’s no electricity, buildings are falling down, equipment is broken or inaccessible. The people and facilities to create a vaccine for a complicated disease on any scale are just not there anymore, so why are the Fireflies so quick to end this girl’s life? When life is so precious, when people are gunned down in the street for their shoes, why wouldn’t they even tell her before the surgery? They didn’t give her choice, and they didn’t give the player a choice. We’re just told the Fireflies can and will create a vaccine. They didn’t ask the important questions, like hey what are the alternatives? Can we wait to kill this little girl? Should we kill the ONLY immune person on the planet? What if we can’t produce a cure after we kill her? There are some serious questions with some serious repercussions. I think Naughty Dog was a naughty dog when it came to this plot point.
    OK, so I played on easy because I came for the story. Abby recruited her friends and traveled from Seattle to Colorado to torture and execute Joel for the murder of her father, in the middle of winter. No trial, no justice, no debate. Ellie, finds them in the middle of this act (beating Joel’s head in with a golf club) and is left unconscious along with Tommy, Joel’s brother. Tommy goes after them, Ellie goes after Tommy with a couple of friends in tow. You also play as Abby for at least half of the Game and you are shown flashbacks of both girls as they interact with their fathers, (Joel is Ellie’s dad for all intents and purposes) and friends. You’re expected to see the parallels and I assume find some sympathy as you humanize Abby and understand her perspective. Unfortunately for me the relationships felt forced and contrived in order to pander to certain audiences. I liked Owen and Manny, I felt sorry when they died. But really, the best parts were the Ellie and Joel moments and even then, nothing compared to the first game.
    I disliked Abby and I hated playing her. I spent every encounter trying hurry my through, thinking that it would get back to playing Ellie that much quicker. Abby was brooding and overall, just unlikeable. She talks about the death of Danny, a fellow WLF, and how she was glad he was dead and just wishes she had killed him. Even her weapons make it difficult to want to play her.
    The infected have added new types to their ranks and it’s not really fun anymore. Stalkers can’t be “seen” with your x-ray vision and they hide, like you do. There’s a new version of bloater that explodes with acidic gas and can chase you. Some areas are so full of enemy soldiers there seems like no end to them and no possible way to sneak past them or even get to the next area without killing them all. The only redeeming feature, on easy, is that the AI is dumb and can’t see you very easily.
    The game drags on after a while and while playing Abby, I just wanted to end it. I had watched Joel die. I was waiting for the confrontation between Ellie and Abby, but it just seemed never-ending. The whole thing just makes me sad, in so many ways. Change is difficult to accept and I have to wonder how people will take the death of someone they came to not only care for, but the injustice of his death. How will they accept being forced to play as the bringer of that death and injustice?    … Expand

Ellie forgiving Abby doesn’t make sense because of Abby she lost her dad figured, Dina and JJ basically her life just to get revenge but then all of a sudden she just spares her? She killed every friend of Abby and hundreds of people but all off a sudden ReVeNge Bad??? Yeah that ruined the whole game from me. And the other thing that is bad is how they treated Joel he deserved way better. But the overall story is not that bad, gameplay and graphics are a 10/10… Expand

    Graphics, gameplay, sound, level design, absolutely crazy attention to details, animations and everything is literally perfect and blows my mind. The Naughty Dog team is one of my favorite game studios along with Bioware and CD Projekt Red and it raised the quality level for the whole industry once more.
    The Naughty Dog team - I applaud you, you have done everything possible and impossible given the capabilities of PS4. And I'm really sorry that Druckmann has spoiled everything you worked on so hard. The score I put does not go to you, guys, it goes to him. You've deserved your 10/10 and I wish you only good.
    Now the part addressed to Mr. Druckmann:
    Dear Neil, I am an old fan of Naughty Dog and its games. I've played all parts of Crash Bandicoot (on original PS, PSP, PS3 and PS4), Uncharted (on PS3, PS4 and PS Vita) and TLOU. I love ND's games. Even though I am a bearded big guy, I was crying several times during certain moments in Uncharted and TLOU. I fell in love with Ellie and Joel. I was associating myself with the latter and bakc then I understood how cool it is to have a daughter (I always wanted a son). I even felt myself like a father even though I do not have kids yet (due to certain psychological traumas I have). And I liked this feeling. TLOU changed my attitude to kids and healed at least one of my psychological traumas.
    While we're done with the intro, let's get to criticism:
    1) You've killed Joel in the first hours of the game. I understand that you're an artist and such, but man - that's not something that fans wanted. Something broke inside me during this scene and I hardly made myself play this game further.
    2) You are forcing LGBT and strong women agenda in this game. What for, man? Majority of this game's fans are young straight men like I am. I have respect for LGBT and women, but you're just forcing these topics in this game. Many scenes are devoted to these topics and they look completely forced. A trans person, who is trying to find him/herself during the apocalypse? A woman who looks like a man in a detailed sex scene? Women with unshaved armpits? That all is ok, but man - I DID NOT WANT TO SEE THIS. Just like the majority of players, who are heterosexual men. Companies are always trying to make their product meet expectations of their customers. Can you imagine that Apple releases only 1 model of iPhone 12 with 2.6" display because 1-3" of their customers got small hands and they require small displays? Can you imagine Apple say that all the other 97% are haters so they can go screw themselves if they don't like 2.6" iPhone?
    3) Ending. Ellie killed hundreds of people on her way to vengeance for Joel, she lost her fingers and then she suddenly realises that killing a person who killed Joel is stupid. Bravo, everyone would do the same.
    You have spoiled the whole game with forcing these 2 topics, killing Joel and coming up with completely illogical and unreaslistic ending. Hundreds of talented people have been working hard and staying late to make this game perfect. But your stupid ideas ruined everything they were putting their souls in.
    You should apologize before fans and everyone in ND and leave this company for good. Go to your best friend Anita and do whatever you want, but don't you ever dare to spoil something that really talented people do.    … Expand

    Все те чувства, что проследовали меня на протяжение первой части, исчезли, испарились и остались в самых лучших воспоминаниях.
    Весь сюжет 2 части, размыт и в то же время предсказуем.
    Диалоги не наполнены эмоциональным смыслам. Главных героев беспощадно убивают, на протяжение всей игры. Меня безумно потряс момент Смерти Джоила, я сидел с пустотой внутри себя 1,5 часа попутно играя. А дальше происходит бессмыслица. Нас перебрасывает во времени, мы начинаем играть за главного антагониста(как нам кажется) но все с точностью наоборот.
    Из большого минуса, что Naughty Dog решили сделать, псевдо открытый мир, что сильно тормозит игру. Время тянется бесконечно и тебе уже не хочешь ничего, кроме как быстрее дойти до конца.
    А вот анимация собак меня порадовала, правда в процессе мы их жестоко убиваем, что к слову не часто, ровно так же мало вы убьете заряженных. Но встретитесь с главным «крысиным королём» одним из первых заразившиеся.
    Пол игры мы играем за повзрослевшую Элли, которая как мне кажется, не понимает, что вообще творит. А пол игры за Эбби, и главный вопрос,нахера? Это не придаёт ни какого шарма. Это очень скучно и вообще не хочется за неё играть. Так же ни слова о Серафитах(шрамов), что это за культ, откуда он взялся, что произошло. К слову об Элли и сюжет, ну вылитая Лара! В конце они даже одежду с неё будто взяли.
    По итогу.
    Мы получаем мрачную игру,с размытым сюжетом, с финалом который сделали на отвали. Как будто все сценаристы не смогли договориться и напихали всего да побольше, что бы угодить каждому. Стоит ли говорить о раскачанных женщинах и трансгендорах в игре. Не считая Элли лизбиянки?
    Буду ли я проходить повторно. Однозначно НЕТ! Доволен ли я игрой в целом? Скорее да чем нет, все таки это одни из нас. Но после игры просто пустота и никаких эмоций.... я надеюсь как говорил Нил Дракман что думает о 3 части, не надо хватит... лучше делай анчартед...    … Expand

    Everything built up in the previous game was destroyed here. Side characters weren't memorable, story made no sense, and the ending was absolutely garbage. The devs tried to go for realism by killing characters randomly, but this makes for horrible story telling where all your favorite characters will end up dying.

    Before starting i have to clarify I don't care about race or sexuality, its sad i have to do this but as ive seen on all these subreddits people just blatantly calling people every phobic name in the book for voicing an opinion. For me personally, I felt shattered after finishing the game and not as in "It was an amazing 10/10" way but as in a"I wish this was never made because now i cant sleep" kind of way, TLOU came out when i was 13, It was a very sad time in my life as i had lost so many loved ones and i was really not in a good place, but with TLOU i could really connect to the characters and the world, in some sense, they felt like a family to me. I know its weird because they're not real but i felt like I've lost something that i never had, I feel a true sense of misery, some might say i hate the game because there is Women or because of lgbtq or that im stupid but the truth is, i had to force myself to finish the game, I didnt want to go forward because i knew what was at the end, some of you might say "Thats what ND wanted you to feel!" but in all honesty, i felt these things because the characters that i knew and loved that saved my life in a time of darkness were no longer themselves, they were no longer what made them great, many will ridicule me and put me down for this but as a person who has learnt a lot of morals and lessons from a video game, it hurts seeing it happen, some decisions and dialogues are so out of character it hurt to watch and it felt that the writers just made them say/do these things so the story kept moving forward, I just didnt want to play anymore, it wasnt the gore, or seeing Ellie become everything she hated, It was the lack of choice and the meaningless killing that amounted to nothing, I dont know if i will ever play this game again, it hurts just looking at the disk and seeing her face, i truly loved these characters and now i feel nothing, as if there is no hope. The game isnt a zero but it certainly isnt a ten.

    In my opinion the game is a reflection of this quote from Ellie.

    I really wanted to love this game so badly but i just can't, I wish i had never seen it, I wish it had never been made. The ending, (though many people will surely post their many metaphorical assumptions about it) sealed the deal for me.

    And so I've dug two graves,

    one grave for TLOU2 and the other for me.

    For now, I dont know what to do, i feel an insatiable sense of sadness on coming.

    Ill leave these final quotes that i remember everyday from Ellie.

    Also, noticed the critic reviews to be insanely out of line with the community reviews. Seems odd that it could be so    Combat was great, and the graphics were top notch. But god lord could the story not be more of a betrayal to the fans. Good acting, but character’s actions are inconsistent with anything we have learned in zombie apocalypse media and even TLOU Part I. The idea of “trust no one and especially strangers” is thrown out the window. All new characters are forgettable and some get killed off so unceremoniously it was laughable like something akin to the Walking Dead TV show. The only new characters that were redeemable were Abby and Isaac. The latter of which is barely given any character development. Abby’s actor is great and that should not be ignored because of the sub par writing. If you take the writing away, this game is great. But when you are doing a sequel to one of the best written games of all time it’s impossible not to consider it in rating this game. I’m glad I played it without having it spoiled for me, I think it did help me appreciate some of the story moments more. I believe if you did read the spoilers it will hinder your first experience with the game for sure.… Expand

    the bad: THE WRITTING, as a narrative based game like the first one was, and how this second part was advertised, the writting is really bad, not thaking advantage of anything of what could be and judt relaying all in "shock moments", characters from the first game feel more like devolutions of what they were, mechanics are ok, no really a significant change at all, and the interaction with the enviroment like puzzles and those are really most gone, and zombies what should have been one of the most interesting things to interact/fight are left really behind and barely given a chance to bewhat they were in the first game.

    the WORST: this game suffered a lot from what tried to achieve, poorly lgbt+ potrayal of characters, feeling more annoying that they could be, beside the ,ajor plat an ellie story, all of them have stories that have been better represented in other media, leaving them just as poorly writen characters, the "adult scene" was meaningless and really just worked as a "shock moment" that left me disgusted, and what is worst about is that it shows a double moral for what sony allow or no to show in games, basically censorship, censorship that other franchises have suffer for less graphic content. and finally the interaction between Joel and ellie is completely gone, it left really sour and bitter taste from all the flashbacks, and the treath that they gave to joel as character is one of the worst things ND have ever made poorly and wrongly handle.

    The worst script I have seen in games for years. Way too much SJW and woman power things in-game. Visuals are great but the framerate sucks big time. The ending was just so disappointing. Did we really have to wait for this for 7 years? Well, at least I have all my fingers left after playing this.

It attempts to subvert expectations in the worst way possible, and adds bland, one dimensional characters to fight alongside you as you make your way through the game. Extremely disappointed. If you loved the first and haven't yet bought the second, I'd suggest waiting for a sale.

    This game has very little things to enjoy about it which are graphics and voice acting, but what made last of us special was the amazing story from the first one. The last of us 2 is an embarrasment compared to the first one. There are five years of untapped potential that was completely wasted and confined to 2 hours worth of flashbacks. It’s a bad sign when the flashbacks that have very little gameplay are better than the actual story. Naughty Dog have taken what made the first game amazing and a storytelling masterpiece and turned it into a plot hole filled disrespectful and nasty game which even messes up its own message: That violence and revenge is wrong. Characters are wasted and not fully developed. New characters are bland and don’t serve any purpos.

    A massive disappointment for anyone who plays, Even The visuals and voice performances can’t save you from wanting to put down the controller after half way through. This is Game of Thrones season 8 levels of writing/fan fiction.    … Expand

I have already finished the game and in the end everything that was said about it was true, this game is a masterpiece and yes, there will be people who will like it and there will be many more who will not. And I think that the message he leaves you is excellent and those who will not come understand and empathize have a serious problem, people no longer put themselves in each other's shoes and that is why in the world everything that happens because there is nobody May you dare and be so brave and capable of understanding that at some point violence transforms you and once you carry it out, it changes nothing. And as Yara says well, the children will bear the sins of the father but Ellie forgiving Abby was a way of forgiving Joel since she did not have the time and a few hours after telling her that she was dead and had no chance of being forgiven. A bunch of friends and I decided to buy one copy for all for all of us to take turns playing at one of our houses after hearing about the storyline. We couldn't believe a company would do what's been said on the net. We had to know for ourselves with as least cost possible
    I have to say, at least the game-play and control was decent, actually improved. Well except the button bashing X. What the heck, why is that a thing in 2020?
    The supporting game engine is impressive. The world is detailed and well done, if only there was continuity. Face animations are many times border line creepy though.
    But that's where the good of this game ends.
    FYI were only maybe half done with the game as I write this. The story from the original was absolutely destroyed! The main character Joel is killed off a early in the game, and none of the new characters are relatable. Ellie plots her vengeance on Joel's killer (Abby), but then you get stuck playing as Abby. What? Why?
    The narrative is forced, and poorly executed (so far)
    Who the heck was this meant for anyway? No one here really likes where this has gone. It pisses off pretty much everyone, including our 2 friends in the LGBTQ community.
    We get into these games for escapism from reality.
    Why do we need to be slapped in the face with an agenda, I personally find shoving in politics into an otherwise good escapism game *offensive*.
    It barely makes sense a lot of the time, there are scenes included that have no additive effect to be in here.
    Glad we didn't all spend money on this.

    Update: We are many hours into the game now. .. Nope We haven't changed our minds. It's only become more irritating. The game story does not flow well at all. One moment you're trying to save yourself by button bashing X, next your dropped into a cutscene. After the cutscene(s) you find yourself trying to figure out where the hell you are now and why. The puzzles are, well for the lack of fitting words... Uninspired. They feel like a child trying to make up a game for an adult with a "gotcha" The characters make me angry, You never get a decent back story you can connect with for (at least as far as we have gotten) for Abby. I loved the first game for how you can connect with the characters. Well we have a copy, so we will try to finish it out but.. I'm pretty sure that we all agree this is a MASSIVE letdown I just can't believe THIS game is what they came up with as a sequel to The Last of Us.    … Expand

I managed perhaps a little over halfway then stopped through the game I am not sure if I should bash on and compleat it but I feel like such a sociopath playing Abbi. The main issue I have is the story, It is just terrible and really detracts from any enjoyment did ND forget that games are for enjoyment and entertainment? Perhaps. I Get they went for the not fun approach and wanted to go down the grim dark route. The way old characters are portrayed or have their story lines end I think was a choice given to cheep shock factor or a copy cat of walking dead but carried out and executed very poorly. The new character Abbi has been made a bit of a Mary Sue the story tries Really hard to encourage you to relate too or like her but this is I fear imposable given her actions and arrogance. Other characters do not so much brake character as completely smash it and give no good reason as too why. The story is also confusing jumping between flashbacks Ellie and Abbi. There is also a horrid sex scene that makes you feel awkward and a little disturbed. Over all I would not recommend this game to anyone. Update: Now I have finished the game. The story just did not improve and the ending was extremely unsatisfying. Don't bother trying to stealth your way through and you are pretty much scripted to get into to much ****… Expand

    I love the gameplay and the graphic but I just can't enjoy the game because of the story and the character. The good story telling of the first game is the main reason why I love TLOU so much. The bond between Joel and Ellie is what made the first game good, why throw it all away in part 2? I will just pretend part 2 never existed.
