Honestly, I already knew in the first part, that one of the two dies. Of course it happened brutally and very quickly in the game, but Joel's story is told. Every story is told at some point. This is called "storytelling". I'm not interested in this feminism stuff. I've been playing games since I was 7 and I play because I like playing games and not because I'm a big fan of the show or anything. I think this game is great, nice graphics, nice sound, the story is perfectly fine too. What happens here with the ratings is no opinion but simply hate and has nothing to do with the game. I hope for all these kids who let out their hate, this game will be game of the year. In my opinion, it deserves this. Nevertheless. Stay healthy… Expand

    La trama principal trata sobre la venganza y de como una persona se auto-destruye cegad@ por la venganza, es un titulo muy adulto, la cual niños de 15 años no entenderán.

    El Gameplay es exactamente el mismo que el 1 con pequeñas mejoras como el tumbarse en la maleza, esquivar a los infectados con el L1, para mi este apartado es lo peor de este titulo.

    Los personajes son humanos con sus altibajos y sus puntos fuertes, son todos humanos, no parecen sacados de un videojuego.

    El primer flashback con Joel, se me ha caído una lagrima, porque fue muy tierno todo y no me esperaba volver a ver, ha estado bien que nunca jugaras con Joel,

    Y el final me ha gustado, es muy simbólico, dejando la guitarra que le dio Joel como diciendo que ha pasado pagina.

    Ojalá con el tiempo la gente se quite la polla de Joel del culo y vea lo buen titulo que es este TLOU 2, porque es un titulo de notable alto, valiente y con huevos a contar su historia sin tapujos.

If this game was released under a different title, it would probably be considered a somewhat confusing but passible product, a solid 6 or 7 out of 10. Wow what the writers were on when they wrote this forced **** of a story for a game like last of us. The whole games story is so forced that it feels disgusting playing this ****.

    How does an amazing game get so many 0s? The game takes about 30 hours to beat, yet most people clearly haven't beaten the game. Even if you dislike the story, the art, the music, etc is still amazing. Unless you're very homophobic, this is a great sequel.

    I put 4 points for this game, I can’t put a higher one. The gameplay, visualization, musical accompaniment and more at the level, as well as facial animations.
    But the plot greatly disappointed. The beginning of the story was addictive and full of emotions, and then it was completely boredom, although the end turned out pretty good for me.

    - Downtown Seattle is basically an open-world
    - Despite their best efforts, Joel & Ellie are still the best character
    - Flashbacks of Ellie & Joel are the best part of the game
    - Combat & stealth feels amazing
    - Infected are a lot scarier than Part 1
    - Outstanding depth and amount of things to customise
    - Handful of amazing action-packed and nerve-racking missions

    Negatives: | Here we go...
    - Joel would never go into a groups house just outside Jackson and give his name away knowing there are hundreds trying to hunt and kill him. Nearly 30 years in the apocalypse you’d think Tommy would be a bit smarter than to give away Jackson’s location, home to hundreds.
    - How could you kill off your most beloved character by caving his head in with a golf club? Arthur Morgan is a great example of how to kill a loved and well developed character, sacrificing himself for someone he loves. In Joel’s case that should’ve been Ellie.
    - There is little to no character development between Ellie and Dina.
    - You’re forced to play as Abby, the one who murders Joel for over half the game inan attempt to want to make you like her, I know, what the ****
    - You’re once again forced to play as Abby, but this time you have to try to kill Ellie
    - Tommy gets shot straight through that face but somehow survives
    - Jesse has such a forgettable death
    - Ellie has basically no development over the course of the game as she still wants revenge at the end.
    - So after killing hundreds and finally get to Abby (again), she ends up not killing Abby because she sees Joel, which surely would make Ellie want to kill Abby even more, but no, Abby gets to live and Joel gets his head pounded with a golf club

    Pro's: -The game starts off really strong, we meet our beloved Ellie and Joel a few years after the ending of the first game and things start from there. I really liked this part, the relationship between the two is written really well and I started to get really invested in the story. The first few hours are engaging and I really did not get why people hated this game so much, but after a while things started to take really strange turns and eventually it even got to the point of me despising the game and the things it made me sit through.

    - Graphics and Sound are top tier. You cannot say this is a bad game on a technical level, the level design, sound design and overall look is amazing and you get really immersed in the world.

    -Gameplay: if you like the first game's gameplay loop I guess you will like this as well. It's basically the same thing just with a few new extra things added on to it. I feel like they could have been more creative on this front but I guess it's an okay system if you want the sequel to have the same feel.

    Con's:
    At a certain point the game makes you play as a character you absolutely despise, and tries very hard to make you feel sympathy for this character by showing their side of the events that unfold though the game. This really really doesn't work and made me want to quit the game multiple times because I could not stand playing as this character for 5/6 HOURS. I only finished it to get my money's worth but the final quarter of the game is an absolute slog to get through and I would not blame anyone to quit at that point.

    Basically this last part ruined the game, if they cut it out or maybe made it just 1 flashback scene and changed the ending the story would feel more tight and rewarding. And even though it wouldn't be as great as the first game's story at least it would have been an okay overall plot with a few strong highlights.    … Expand

    Everything is great. Sometimes some of the jumping seems a little clunky to me, then again there aren't many games that get it spot on and this is very minor and nitpicky. The visuals are fantastic, the game play is brilliant, combat can provide some very memorable self made moments and the story is compelling and harrowing. Certainly not for those who want a light-hearted story, but ifEverything is great. Sometimes some of the jumping seems a little clunky to me, then again there aren't many games that get it spot on and this is very minor and nitpicky. Certainly not for those who want a light-hearted story, but if you are mature and can handle the darker aspects of life in an apocalyptic world then there is definitely something for you here. Shame it's getting so heavily review bombed because it has unparalleled diversity, an accurate depiction of human society in difficult times as well as truly heart breaking moments that aren't there to make you happy, but to force the questions for you to ask yourself. Much like the ending of the first game, could you and would you have done the same, would you continue or end a brutal cycle of violence? Life isn't always sunshine and lolly pops people. Brilliant game, one of the most accessable games off all time, and one of naughty dogs finest to date.… Expand

    Speaking as someone who has never played the original game and for the most part has stayed away from Naughty Dog games - TLOU2 is an OK game. It looks absolutely amazing running on my base model PS4. Many aspects of this game are very polished however, it doesn't really do anything more than what has already been done in other video games. Explain to us how the game is literally all over the place with emotions. One minute you're fending for your life then two seconds later you're flirting with your girlfriend. And the fact that Joel the character that we've grown to love is killed off at the beginning of the game, and you force your audience to play as the killer, HOW? I have never been so disappointed and felt lied to in reference to a product that I've been waiting for. We've all waited seven years for this game and this is what we're dealt. Pitiful… Expand

    This game is a masterpiece right in line with its predecessor. All of the review bombing is heartbreaking, because it deserves so much better. I could touch on all of the reasons why a bunch of bigots hate this game, and why each of those reasons make the game even more of a masterpiece, but just play it for yourself and see. You won't be disappointed.

Graphics, audio are top notch however after the honeymoon phase wears off the games cracks start to show. After 15 hours with Ellie the games story quickly loses all interest with unrelatable characters and incredibly slow pacing in the last half of the game. I found myself wondering why I was playing this game and why do I have to play with characters I have absolutely no interest in. Once the game jumps back to Ellie it somehow manages to get even worse with ridiculous story plots that make no sense. The ending made me feel angry and like I had just wasted my time and money. Other then the story the controls can be incredibly frustrating at times when you need to dodge and the jump button is an embarrassment considering this is the studio that brought us uncharted. The combat was fun and was almost always enjoyable and the graphics are truly the best of the generation. Ultimately the game is an embarrassment to the first game and makes me question the legitimacy of critic reviewers giving this game a 10.… Expand

    99% of the negative reviews are from dumb people who dont even own this game and the remaining one are the ones who didnt even finish the game . Enjoying every second of this game .     The Last of Us part 2 is a horrible sequel, without any respect to his successor.
    Sound design and Soundtrack: 8/10
    The sound quality is amazing literally every sound was perfectly recorded an designed for this game and is the same with the soundtrack that is beautiful.
    Graphics: 10/10
    the graphics are beautifully detailed, you think most of the things are real. their worlds are broad and incredibly detailed, but still good graphics and maps don't always make a good game as I'm going to say below.
    Gameplay: 4/10
    By the part of the Gameplay it's incredibly boring and repetitive, like i didn't believe that Neil Druckman found a way to remove the word fun on this entire game, literally it's the same mechanics from the previous game but it didn't add any new mechanics to make this game more interesting and advanced. Also the level design is terrible, naughty dog was knowed because of their multiple and funny game designs, but in this ones it's just the same thing over and over again, like it's just walk a lot of time, a cutscene happens, passes the whole level stealthily and again another cutscene to finish the level and thats it just the same thing over and over again.

    Probally this is the most problematic and controversial about all this game, especially after the leaks and Neil Druckman Comments about th people whos are giving their opinion, but i have to say that this is the most horrible story made in the gaming community ever. It was like Minecraft Story Mode and Pokemon Sword and Shield fused and this was the result. The story is basically the tipic revenge story but its horribly executed, like the player is forced to agree that "the revenge is evil for the soul" forcing moments like Ellie kill a pregnant woman and a dog because of revenge and homewer you continue just to reach your objective, almost kill it, but the you stop because Ellie sufered a epiphany and realised that revenge is bad... sorry but what?! Like you literally killed a lot of people that dosent matters just to spare the one who actually matters just when you are killing her? it dosent make any sence. Other problem are the characters, especially the original ones from the previous game, like Joel, a expert survivor with 25 years of experience that knows every kind of trap and killed thousands of man because of a girl, just to be killed by unknow armed people who he saved, bruh and Ellie a sweet girl but rough girl that continues learning from her mistakes, to became just a lunatic that is angry with everyone, seriously. The new characters are hateble, especially Abby, that she is poorly writen, they just made a "tragic" backstory for her just to the player to like her, but you can never to empathize with her even more after she killed a loved character like a rat. And the most problematic part is the forced inclusivity, i mean i have no problem that a character is gay, trans, black, fat or whaterver they want but i dont want that part of that character be important on the story, but homewer they do that here with the Abby story and Abby is not the transgender the actuall transgender is just a random kid thats is literally "Ellie 2.0" of Abby, that he is running of Crazy CHRISTIAN HOMOPHOBIC and TRANSPHOBIC cult, yeah that, forcing yo the player to fight agaist them as Abby.
    I will gives this game a 3/10 and that is just because of the graphics, sound quality and the soundtrack.

Gameplay and graphics are next-level, but the story’s central focus on hatred and gratuitous sexualization not present in the first game leaves me feeling what I just described: With a strong disdain toward whomever is responsible for this atrocity.

    2 points for the two original protagonists from the previous instalment. Gameplay was good but the peace was slow, and the characters’ actions (particularly towards the ending) were not justifiable by the development of the whole storyline. Most importantly, the messages delivered were too politically correct, sometimes enough is enough.

    Just finished the game! And I want to say, its something different! Its a visual treat! The gameplay is really engaging and better than previous one! The whole game is like a journey! The story is so good! I know the conclusion is decisive and people will have mixed reaction but the way they executed it, its mesmerizing! A Must Play!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. here's my opinion on why I think The Last of Us Part 2 is a magnificent game, but bitter. I don't think it is necessary to talk about how exquisite the technical question of the game is, so I will skip this part. In terms of history: yes, I found the story very well written and brings you a very strong moral reflection at the end. The Last of Us Part 2 is a game about revenge, but most of all, it's a game about, I believe, maturing and being able to "move on". I agree that the only ball out of the story was Joel's lack of character in accepting to follow Abby, in addition to the cowardly death he had; but we cannot deny that something like this is, unfortunately, plausible in a post-apocalyptic world like that of TLOU. Looking at it more coldly, I think Ellie's journey was just like Abby's journey, the only difference being that Abby and her group measured casualties (killed less) compared to Ellie (note that I'm not "wiping" for the cowardly way they lured Tommy and Joel there and the torture they subjected Joel to). Ellie was frustrated to lose her father in such a brutal and traumatic way, she saw everything without being able to do anything, helpless; and this is enhanced by the fact that she is fighting with Joel over the "bidding" with the fireflies, and she loses him so suddenly without being able to say goodbye it was heartbreaking. I must also point out that Ellie's development (or deterioration of her humanity) is simply magnificent! The pre-torture scene of Nora, the failed attempt to get information from Mel and Owie (I don't remember his name, mb) and shortly after discovering that he killed an innocent life as a result (the fetus); all of which shows how misrepresented Ellie's psychological was, how empty the feeling of revenge is. Jumping straight to that controversial ending for many, I found it bitter, too bitter. I cried horribly with the flashbacks and the final sequence of Ellie's fight with Abby, it was all very hard. The fact that Ellie didn’t kill Abby shows that she matured, because, just as Abby did to her by killing Joel, Joel also took someone very important to her (besides Ellie had taken her two friends and Tommy plus another, and yet he forgave him). Ellie saw that it wasn't worth it, she didn't forgive it, I believe, but she saw that it wouldn't bring Joel back, it wouldn't bring his glory days he had years ago, it wouldn't bring him his innocence anymore. In short, this is why I find the story and the outcome of it exceptional

    Joel is not a hero, nor is he a villain, he is a guy who does what it takes to survive. It's been years in this apocalypse, even the best of people, in this same situation, would have to take actions that were previously unthinkable or die quickly. As for the fact that the woman is strong and cuddly, it is more than expected that it is, after all, it is a **** apocalypse that has lasted for years. In this situation, both brute force and intelligence are essential to keep you alive. Thus, the surviving mass would be people prepared to fight and kill. People with low physical fitness and who were slow to realize that it is killing or dying would be the first to be victimized. These types of people only survive on television series.

    Now the disclaimer is , i haven't played the game but i have watched every video associated with it since the leaks surfaced and also have watched almost 10 hrs of gameplay, i also have a clear idea about how the story ends and what happens.

    So here i go...i will keep it short as reviews like skill up have done a much bettee job than me explaining.

    My initial problem with the leaks was the shw woke nature of the game but i trusted naughty dog and i was like maybe they'd make the story redeemable enough in some sense so people like me who hate agenda pushing might not go wow but others would infact niel druckman's initial propaganda was it would be a divisive game so a user rating of atleast 6 or 7 would be expected which would mean that the critic reviews might be bribed but atleast the people didn't hate it but that's not the case.

    Now before i dive in again, the story might be terrible but the graphics and mechanics feel great for atleast the first few hours of the game.

    2 main points about a revenge story is It should be short and it should fulfill the initial objective no matter what the cost.
    For ellie we see her lose everything and that could have worked without changing anything in the game, except the ending.
    Just kill abby , simple as that. Then it would really feel like , i have won but at what cost. Now there are revenge stories like punisher where people dont care about the costs and it works too.

    Abby wasn't likable at all, i thought one way they could have done it better would be her regretting why she did what she did throughout her entire journey and what she lost for that.

    So yes...the story sucks..but i still do have a respect for the art form that is gaming and all i can say alot of people worked hard on this so i will give it the credit for existing and being gorgeous.

    But then again , if you have mechanics of a 2013 game..and you're not an online multiplayer....you will bore people.

    Survival horror is boring..countless grinding is hated by most gamers so what keeps it going? The story and the characters. Some survival horror games like resident evil and evil within make it interesting and making it feel like you actually have to survive rather than taking out targets one by one

    What is it? Hitman post apocaĺypse and even that has a ton of mecahnics that make the game worth it...and one of the best in the stealth genre.

    25 hrs is not the time you should carry a story like this.

    So that is it

    My ratings would be

    Gameplay : 6/10
    Graphics : 10/10
    Story : 2/10 would be a 5 if they fixed the ending and made abby dead
    Characters : 4/10 even joel and tommy were out of character in this one, they were dumb and ellie was plain evil and so was abby , owen, lev and everyone around was ridiculous , dinah was better than the others and jesse was there for the diversity factor.

    Overall i can give it a 5.5 to a 6 if i am being generous on 10.

    Overall 5.7/10

    And a note , next time onwards , if they are willing to push propaganda and stuff atleast do it in an enviroment that favours it, not the post apocalypse , and definitely not in a way that makes it looked forced like it did.

    If you wanted to make a full fueled leftist propaganda game You could have gone for bigots destroyer : earth or some **** but not the last of us 2.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This was a good idea, but wrongly executed. The story lacks of ideas and arguments asides its predecessor. Even though, the graphics and the gameplay felt very well done. Maybe this awful critics are gonna help Naughty Dog to see how they make their big mistake and give us a good game in the future. Yes, the game goal was to be dark and sad. But i dont see the point of leaving the main "villain" alive just cause a flashback with Joel and everything else. I mean, all the killing, all the revenge for nothing? Everything that Ellie been through, everything that shed done. It clearly could meant for nothing.


    Naughty Dog fails in giving the players a little bit of hope and clearly a fair videogame. Its a shame of what ND has become. Graphics 9.9/10

    The worst sequel I've ever played. I wish the director will loose job. Story and character sucks and left-wing propaganda hurt.

    If you evaluate it as a game, then 10/10. If as a continuation of the great last of us, 6/10. 16/20 = 8/10

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
