Top of it's class in all the major categories: graphics, gameplay and story. A must-play for all fans of story-driven third-person open-world action/stealth shooters. Many who call themselves fans of the original are very butt-hurt over the loss of a favorite character in this installment of the franchise, but honestly it makes complete sense and could not have been done better. In terms of creating depth in the story and character development, as well as giving birth to the perfect motivation to drive our main protagonist forward in her journey? Perfect execution. Full pun intended. I feel sorry for those who won't play over some leaks. There is so much more to experience from this story, even in spite of and thanks to the loss of said character! You think you know, but until you play - you don't. Not even close. Truly a masterpiece and will go down as one of my all-time favorites without question. The raw suspense, grit and edginess is unmatched in any game I've ever played - and I've played a lot of damn games in my 35 years on this planet! I cannot wait for whatever comes next from Naughty Dog, but in the meantime I am insanely grateful for The Last of Us Part II.… Expand

I played TLOU2 and i have mixed emotions.First,after Joel death all i want was to kill Abby,but after finishing Ellies part and start playing with Abby i felt sorry for her.You can care a lot for Abby, at one point i was scard she will die by Ellies hand.
    I suggest playing or watching a walkthrough of the entire game before you judge the game just because of Joel death.And one more thing stop the meme s with lgbt persons.    … Expand

    There is a decided lack of black reverence and worship in this game. In stead of embracing the KINGS of Africa that the black man are, they chose to show women loving one another rather then black kings inseminating white women as it should be.

    The last of the party 2 is a wonderful game, although it could not jump over its predecessor (although the fans expected this), but I think this is a wonderful story that tells about the cruelty of people in difficult situations, reveals the whole gray moral of our heroes. I think that the end and the death of some characters are the main reason for people dislike, but if you watch this game with a different perspective you will see that this game is all that Neil Druckmann said in his interviews, a game about rage and vengeance and how this affect the person who seek for it. So, for me, this game was not made mainly to please but to make the player think and reflect. (sorry if my english is wrong, its not my first language :)… Expand

    Gameplay gets too repetitive especially if you play stealthy, I wasted 60 bucks on this and would give the first game a 10 out of 10 because the story carried it, but come on the story for this one only uses shock value and is uncreative.

    Mediocre zombie game at its best. One thing that you have to note is that instead of making the game a game; a proper one, they are more interested in shoving their hidden agenda for a certain type of group to the mass public. I believe most of us are getting tired of this.

People may find it hard that a favourite character dies early and youre forced to look at them from a different view. In our eyes ellie and joel were the good guys but from other perspectives, in other characters eyes they were not. The graphics are stunning and i felt the game was alot scarier in some ways. There were alot more dynamics. Although the other characters didnt steal my heart, i liked the aspect of looking through their eyes, playing some parts of the games from different views and understanding where everybody is coming from. The stealth is very fun to do. I loved the different groups that were featured in the game. Sometimes there is a throwback which is playable, and it brings a back memories from the game before. It feels nostalig. I dont really feel there are politics in the game. Abby is strong but in an age where zombies and infected are roaming and people are your enemies aswell it pays to be strong. Its not weird in my eyes.… Expand

Great seing new gen gameplay but this game absolutely destroyed my childhood and this was the WORST gaming experience ive ever had with a game. I would rather play league of legends with 9 people flamming me for 5000 hours than support this game.

This game has a story which does no justice to the beloved character from the original game and at the end of the game as a player you will feel like an idiot for sitting through this depressing s*it show and spending your money on it. All the beautiful visual and sound is not a big surprise as it is expected from a game releasing in 2020.

    This game honestly was a disappointment. I loved the first game. The story was well paced and it was one of my favorites. This one.... not so much. It felt rushed and I don’t care about some of the events that happens in the game (no spoilers) I just didn’t connect with the characters this time around.

    La historia es basica y tonta,despues de atrevasar todo EEUU (De nuevo como en la primer entrega) en busca de venganza asesinando a monton de personas y zombis (Como en la primera entrega,solo que con otro motivo)y ademas,los nuevos personajes son exsesivamente aburridos,pocos interesantes,a tal punto de que te da igual si se mueren.

    Cuando llegamos al final,despues de matar a una cantidad exsesiva de personas (lo caul es poco realista)de repente se les ocurre la idea de que asesinar esta mal, y lo peor de todo es que deja viva a la antoginista escapandose.

    La verdad es una decepcion,yo pondria mi copia de The Last Of Us II en la parrila y me comeria un rico asado usando el disco como combustible

    Espere 6 años para esta entrega y topo con esto.
    Es como jugar Uncharted sin Nathan Drake.

    While I enjoyed the Last of Us so much and was one of my favorite Games on PS3, this is horrible.
    They destroyed the Characters and Story so much, its laughable.
    They kill of the main character within 2 hours!! and let you play some random new character that you GOTTA HATE half of the game..
    Journey about Joel and Ellie? Not so much anymore. Plus the Story is just boring, boring, boring...
    Graphic is nice yes, but all PS4 Games have ncie graphic nowadays, sorry Naughty Dog, Graphic doesnt make a good game, Characters and Story do !! And you sadly made those two things horrible in this one.

Naughty Dog seems to have lost focus as to what made the first game work and sacrificed characters and their relatable, vibrant personalities in exchange for pushing a narrative and message that not everyone will connect with. There are a lot of great ideas on display here, with enoughThis game is phenomenally conflicting, and is neither a complete failure or an uncontested masterpiece. Naughty Dog seems to have lost focus as to what made the first game work and sacrificed characters and their relatable, vibrant personalities in exchange for pushing a narrative and message that not everyone will connect with. There are a lot of great ideas on display here, with enough stupid **** ups to consistently drag down the quality of the game. I found myself experiencing highs and lows throughout within the pacing and story decisions, but this game never strikes the same level of consistency I’ve come to expect from Naughty Dog. Don’t get me wrong, the gameplay and visuals are phenomenal, but not worth the price of admission alone. We all know that this game is all about the story, and if it’s not good then what’s the point? The perspective shifts, killing of characters for shock value and tedium that comes from 20+ hours in similar environments found in Seattle lead to an experience that was ultimately disappointing. I do think this game is worth experiencing if you’re a huge fan of the first, as there are moments that are purely heart wrenching when we see the development of Joel and Ellie’s relationship post Firefly massacre. Despite this, the inclusion of new characters only to slaughter the majority of them and a story that can’t seem to decide who it wants you to root for or what it’s trying to say ended up leaving me unsatisfied. This was certainly not worth a 7 year wait, and in all honesty I’d prefer it was never made and we were left with that ambiguous “okay” as our ultimate conclusion to Joel and Ellie’s story.… Expand

    Usually I don't log in and review games online, but I feel cheated big time! TLOU 2 is a beautiful game with nothing else to offer. Atrocious story created to destroy the original game. Do not waste your money on this one. I am planning to file a refund, based on false advertisement.

Sadly as hell with this game, the way that the story went, and literally you go from village to village and it's always the same thing, you get to the village, you kill people or zombies, you search the houses, and you go to another village. The zombies found protein shakes, they are agile, strong, and weird. Are all zombies sons of The Rock? Oh and the zombies they have an incredible eyesight. I don't care about Ellie being gay, I don't care that Abby looks like it eats 5kg of whey every single day, but Joel? Seriously? We loved him, that not the way, for a guy like him to go. I only played until Seattle day 2 and I can't continue always the same thing over and over. Btw where's the soundtrack?… Expand

    Ignore the idiots review bombing this game. It’s fantastic, if you enjoyed the first game then you will have the time of your life. Everything you enjoyed before has been improved, and guess what...proper fans knew Ellie was gay anyway, and guess what, proper human beings don’t care anyway!

    A phenomenal game with heavy, emotional themes of loss and revenge. Great gameplay, a rich, well detailed game world and realistic characters you quickly grow to care about and invest in. I can't understand why this game has such a low user score. Don't listen to the naysayers this game is amazing!

    I've never waited for a game so long in my life. At 60 years old, this is the only game I would play besides COD with my stepson. That being said, I could not have been more disappointed. I was willing to look past the sexuality that Druckman threw in because of our politically correct climate. However, he went too far with attempts at the shock factor. 2.5 hours in and I am done.     i was one of those people that have been wating this game for so long, i played the original one in ps3 and replayed it in ps4 in short....

    The good: the game visually is stuning, great, you can feel hard work from all people that designed and created the enviroments models for the game, the soundtrack is good, pretty similar from the first game but is really good. the bad: THE    i was one of those people that have been wating this game for so long, i played the original one in ps3 and replayed it in ps4 in short....

    the bad: THE WRITTING, as a narrative based game like the first one was, and how this second part was advertised, the writting is really bad, not thaking advantage of anything of what could be and judt relaying all in "shock moments", characters from the first game feel more like devolutions of what they were, mechanics are ok, no really a significant change at all, and the interaction with the enviroment like puzzles and those are really most gone, and zombies what should have been one of the most interesting things to interact/fight are left really behind and barely given a chance to bewhat they were in the first game.

    the WORST: this game suffered a lot from what tried to achieve, poorly lgbt+ potrayal of characters, feeling more annoying that they could be, beside the ,ajor plat an ellie story, all of them have stories that have been better represented in other media, leaving them just as poorly writen characters, the "adult scene" was meaningless and really just worked as a "shock moment" that left me disgusted, and what is worst about is that it shows a double moral for what sony allow or no to show in games, basically censorship, censorship that other franchises have suffer for less graphic content. and finally the interaction between Joel and ellie is completely gone, it left really sour and bitter taste from all the flashbacks, and the treath that they gave to joel as character is one of the worst things ND have ever made poorly and wrongly handle.

    I'm gonna be honest: I made this account on metacritic only to express my disappointment, my grief, my wrath and in the end the numbness I felt, when the game was over. What an utterly waste of of time this was.
    I wish I never played it and I'd just remember The Last Of Us I as the masterpiece it was.

    Downsides: Its plot, no one gives a **** about Abby because she was not introduced before, and then suddenly out of nowhere she kills the main protagonist, one, if not the most loved character by the people that played The Last of Us before and then we are obligated to play her if we want to move on playing. I'm no writer, but this is **** up, I can see Joel dying, no problem but Joel isn't stupid, in The Last of Us (Part 1) he RAN OVER A GUY THAT WAS FAKING BEING IN PAIN AND NEEDED HELP, he had survival instinct, and he wouldn't take any chance, suddenly he is inside a house with armed strangers he does not know, in the middle of the room, not even keeping his back safe just waiting to die, if you want to kill Joel you could at least maintain him into character. And then the conclusion, horrendous, let me say I did enjoy the detail that Ellie lost 2 fingers and she couldn't play the music Joel taught her, as a way to say that she lost more than gained. But she killed over 100 people at the very **** least to get to Abby and then she has a change of heart? That is not how it works, it's ok to murder a pregnant woman to get to the woman you want and then you don't kill her, its inconsistency.
    I guess The Last of Us 2 was meant to make us feel the cold world that they live in, but guess what, I and many other people didn't feel **** we felt like the 7 years of waiting were completely shat on, killing Joel that way didn't make me go sad and all, it just made me pissed, he could have died coldly that is not what this is about, just had to **** kill him and made his death mean something, anything, it isn't worth killing a beloved character for the purpose of showing that the world is bad and cold, it is worth to kill him, with purpose, thing he didn't even have since Ellie didn't **** kill Abby, and got the revenge. You don't kill every **** person you see, that weren't even related to the death of Joel to have a change of heart at the end with the goddamn killer right in front of you.
    I'm honestly just going to believe that this whole joke was the aftermath of Ellie smoking weed with Dina and she just had a nightmare, a bad trip.    … Expand

    Stunning game, breathtaking graphics, animation and set pieces. It captured me in a way only naughty dog can. I didn't put the controller down for three days. The world is vibrant, violent and cruel. It feels more real than any video game world I have explored. En todos los aspectos demuestra cuidado de detalles; ya sean graficos, jugabilidad, historia... sobre todo en la historia. Pues a pesar de ver que los supuestos "fans" lo critiquen demasiado tienen que tener en cuenta que sin algunas muertes como la de joel esta historia no existiría e incluso no existiria el juego. Yo considero que quedó muuy bien nuevamente en todos los aspectos. Y con respecto al final tambien muy criticado... pues considero que no tienen un buen criterio pues lo que el final queria mostrar o lo que yo creo que los desarrolladores de Naughty Dog inc. Querian enseñar son 3 puntos: la venganza no lleva a nada bueno y es un ciclo infinito, el mundo no gira en torno a un personaje (de ahi el uso de abby y ellie pues muestran por las cosas que cada uno pasa y que no solo a alguien le ocurren cosas malas) y el tercer punto es el instinto de supervivencia y que no se mata por lujo, si no por necesidad de mantenerte con vida ( como podemos apreciar en este vasto mundo ). Con lo anterior dicho me refiero a que ellie al final fue inteligente y prefirio dejar ir a joel y a sus miedos y finalizar este ciclo de venganza en vez de continuar con este derramamiento de sangre y perdidas innecesarias.… Expand

    No entiendo la nota de los "expertos". Se supone que deben valorar el juego teniendo en cuenta que es la secuela de un juego que por cierto es excelente. Lamentablemente de excelente su secuela tiene poco, historia pesima y final decepcionante.

    Le pongo un cero porque la nota de los medios claramente no fueron objetivas gracias al sr billetin. Un desastre!

All because they do not like an homosexual character which is actually one of the most brave and strong characters I ever played with, a resolve like Ripley of alien. People hate it because Joel dies, because the antagonistic is not likeable or for anything the game ends up with. Not sure why as I haven't ended the game and the 10 is to balance out other reviews with a 0. Gameplay is fantastic, huge improvement and very fluid, graphically stunning and huge areas to explore, enough to get lost. Characterization is fantastic and very deep. The game is one of the most defining ones for this generation of games, give it an honest try, I assure you thst is is a brilliant game.… Expand

    Then there’s that scene, it made me cringe so much, how did they not hurt each other from that?
