    Awesome game, for those who hasn't play yet but giving a bad review, just play it man, it is beautiful with a very different story thab the other games out there, i know its hurt but this game deserve a try...post apocalyptic era has so many unpredictable moments and tlou 2 captured very well..i love you naughty dogs

    I know this game is controversial but anyone calling the story badly written or just bad in general didnt get past the first two hours because by the end of the game with the full context I was crying this is a beautiful game and I'm sorry that some of you cant enjoy it because of the direction it took

    Excellent, smooth and flexible gameplay allowing you to choose you own approach to combat. Story is just amazing and gave me all the feels multiple times.

    El juego tiene una pésima histora, no evoluciona su gameplay pues es puro copy paste, respecto a los demás detalles técnicos si cumple de buena manera pero no lo suficiente como para salvar este juego.

This shows that the developer/publishers' agendas should not get in the way of conveying a story. They destroyed a great franchise just for what?     Ps solo puedo decir q no cumplió con mis expectativas, la historia no fue muy de mi agrado, lo de estar abriendo puerta de me hizo repetitivo, la jugabilidad se mantuvo prácticamente igual, el apartado sonoro bueno más no destacabldbueno pero no destacable, los gráficos si son excelentes

    I can only honestly believe that the people giving this game low scores are people who haven’t actually played the game at all. It’s a freaking masterpiece.... it is a story that is both heartbreaking and intense.... but what else should you expect from a post apocalyptic world!?

    I wanted to take some time after completing this game so that I could collect my thoughts and form a comprehensive and thought out review. This game is not the worst, but it's not the best. The story had a lot of potential, but ended up spiraling down in quality as it progressed. About three-fourths of the way through the game and ask myself "why?".     Next is gameplay, which didn't change much from the first TLOU. The game feels like a walking simulator with occasional button mashing and shooting. I did like the diversity of character styles, but the combat system left much to be desired. After a 7 year wait for this game, I feel that it lacked substantial change and did not separate itself from the original style. Overall, I would give Gameplay a 3/10. Lastly, visuals and eye candy. This game is substantially better looking than the original. Lots of great views and settings that show how much care went into the visual development. Occasionally the facial expressions of characters are a little unsettling and awkward to look at, but it is new tech, so we won't put too much of a penalty for it. Overall, visuals sit at a very nice 9/10!

    Final average score puts this game at a ⁵/10. I wouldn't recommend buying it unless you are okay with drawn out walking segments, lackluster combat, and a story that doesn't make much sense.    … Expand

It can be quite long and upsetting, but it pays out. The game broke me emotionally. My only complain would be that in the first battle between Ellie and Abby, you are forced to play as Abby and I think that it would have much better if you played as Ellie and let everything the same. Ellie still loses and the story continues. As the gamer plays as Abby, it is quite obvious that the game is not over. And if you played with Ellie it could be quite shocking watching her lose and then continue the story. Other than that, I absolutely loved it. Sorry if my English is bad, I speak Spanish as first language.… Expand

The characters are completely unlikable and don't feel like the same people from the first game. The whole plot is so convoluted and doesn't flow well togethor. You'd think with all the time Naughty Dog spent on the game, they would have made this even better than the first one. Overall gameplay and mechanics are slightly updated versions of the first game. In all honesty, I believe Naughty Dog should completely redo the game in order to please diehard fans like myself. The things done in this game are just disgusting and a disgrace to the first game. I have not experienced such a spectrum of feelings for a long time. This is an exciting experience. Everyone has to go through this game and understand the importance of the thought.     After playing through the game, trying to understand my emotions, thinking about alternatives, watching pieces of several streamers playing it, reading reviews, and engaging in discussion, I'm ready to declare that this game is indeed flawed, but not bad.     This game takes you to an emotional place. It may not be a place you wanted to go. It's almost like going through a rough break-up. Yeah, it sucks, but on the plus side, you find listening to your favorite songs is moving you like it hasn't in years. Evoking that kind of emotion through a video game is...well, when's the last time anyone has pulled that off? Has it been done before EVER?

    There are flaws. The pacing in the middle feels off. The game is long, and it's mechanics get redundant. It doesn't at all feel neat and streamlined. On the story side, some things have all the subtlety of a sledgehammer, and other things require thought to make sense. It's arguable that one line of dialogue, or some different editing, could solve the puzzle to making this a smoother experience in some places.

    ...but there are no major 'plot holes'. Please don't let people tell you there are. Most everything people evoke as one, is either a character flaw, or them missing explanations that are there in the game. Plus, realize that if you want to dislike a piece of media, it's very easy to find reasons to do it. The original Star Wars movie has more weak writing, bad acting, and questionable elements than this game does, but people love it and buy into it because they like the fantasy world it sells them, and enjoy going along. This game, in parts, is deliberately telling you things you don't want to hear, and challenging you with them. Some people did not enjoy that, and even went so far as to reject the maker's intentions in doing so.

    There are some people that will never be happy with the choices this game makes, or what it wants to be instead of what they wanted it to be. Fan service it is NOT. But so many people have not been able to get this game out of their heads. It's inspired more discussion, fascination, and dwelling in its space than the first game did, and maybe more than any game ever has. It's something pretty much never tried before in a AAA video game. I'm happy it exists, and I'm happy I experienced it. If you want a more generic third-person shoot-em-up, you have 1000 other titles to choose from. This is something else, and possibly something landmark and special. Time will tell.    … Expand

Don't you think that Naughty Dog was forcing on PC too much that they have forgotten to respact the part 1 characters? Don't you see that Naughty Dog has turn their faces from us and become as a another slave of a PC? I think this is the worst choice that Naughty Dog have ever made.Beside to the story, the Naughty Dog was not showing the best performance that they could do and the moves that were showed on trailers were not abke to do them. To acutally do those cool moves showed on trailers, you would be wasting your ammos and you will not be able to play the game efficiently. This is my review.… Expand

    The game wildly disappointed. I did not believe that everything was bad in it, but it turned out even worse. The plot, the realism of the world are made incredibly poorly. Animations praise, there are games where they are made better.

Joel and tommy aren't the type to just trust strangers. His excuse was that age made them loose their guard? Fk outta here. I'm ok with joel dying, he had to pay for his actions but this was poorly executed and Manny, the guy that spits and calls him a "pendejo" doesn't help. Then you have to spend hours playing with muscle hulk killing innocent people, tribes, etc. And naughty tries to make you feel sorry for her because she saves 2 kids and loves dogs? Due to the way Joel's death was executed makes this game hard to play knowing that it will only go down hill. Abbs witnesses her own people die but doesn't say a single word. All the characters are easily forgotten, ignored or never brought up again. It feels like they weren't nothing but fillers/puppets. With Ellie, she gets PTSD due to watching joel getting killed but during her killing spree, not once did she have a PTSD attack or episode. WTF neil, do you not know **** about PTSD? Once again Joel gets disrespected and Ellie kills one of abbs friends in the same way joel was killed but not once did she have a PTSD episode. Ellie only feels disgust after killing some individuals such as Mel (Mel was pregnan and Ellie found out) and...Oh that's right, the other characters don't matter. Anyways, the only two characters that were interesting were the 2 tribal kids that abbs saved because she loves kids (but is still a serial murderer psychopath). Thier their stories characters are amazing and so is thier back story. That's the kind of Naughty Dog I like to see but that's about it lol. The ending was upsetting due to Ellie Freeing Abs and Levs but then wants to fight abs? Ellie is about to end abs but gets a Flash of Joel which ultimately means that Abs is free to leave with Lev, alive. During the fight, Ellie got 2 of her fingers bitten off, Jo was Killed, Dina her Love was killed as well as thier child, Jesse her best friend was killed, abd Tommy Joel's brother was almost taken from her. Ellie Loses everything, she's dead inside at the end while Abs gets Lev and didn't give a single **** about her friends that died? This game had to many holes, storytelling was lazy as fk and theme is not good lol. You stripped the theme out of all it's meaning.


    Gameplay: 6/10 (same **** from LOUS, $60 is not worth jumping and prone Neil)
    Graphics: 8/10 (beautiful atmosphere but is not open as it Bi-linear to the **** physics were cool, light was alright, top Naughty Dog as always)
    Story: 5/10 (Not a good story, easily one of Naught's worst. Conflicting themes, and juxtapositios in the environment. Too any holes in the stroy and dog**** execution)

O jogo está realmente incrível a história está muito boa e impressionanete o leque de emoções que esse jogo te faz sentir durante o jogo inteiro e como tudo tem um contexto simplesmente o fato de você poder jogar com a não Abby e saber da história dela tbm dá uma nova perspectiva pro jogo, a morte do Joel é realmente um dos pontos que deixa a desejar já que não é um final q o personagem merecia por ele ser um personagem totalmente desconfiado de tudo como foi construído no primeiro jogo, teria sido muito melhor se o personagem tivesse morrido lutando invés da forma covarde como ele morreu, o Restante do jogo é simplesmente incrível e tudo é realmente envolvente e como a no final ela não se vingou da Abby porquê sabia que a Abby tbm perdeu alguém que ela amava é não se vingou por que no fim não mudaria nada. Um jogo que não envolve só a vingança mas muitas outras emoções e motivações foi muito envolvente e foi um jogo incrível Esse jogo vai te marcar, não é apenas um jogo com um história boa é um jogo que quer te passar uma mensagem e te ensinar algo com as situações que os personagens passam.

Как ребёнок радовался динамичности некоторых боёв, в некоторых моментах боялся даже подойти к заражённым. Единственное вызвало у меня недоумение: почему я играю пол игры на персонаже, которого уже ненавижу. В начале игры, мне подарили ненависть к ней и уже позже, играя за неё, я начинаю понимать, что она поступает гораздо лучше, чем Элли. Амбала видную героиню показали ранимой девушкой с наличием страха высоты. Она показалась более хрупкой, чем безжалостно мстящая машина убийств Элли. Я по сути уже ненавидел их обоих, но никому не желал смерти. И вдруг меня ставят 1 на 1. С дрожащим ожиданием и опечаленным видом я смотрел на бой. Итог был таким, которого я хотел, но он оставил меня пустым. Ещё долго сидел и слушал музыку в титрах, а потом включил музыку из джокера и пошёл спать. Никогда не получал такой дозы эмоций, впечатлений от игры. Наверное самый лучший финал - разочаровывающий, потому что эффект от него невероятный.… Expand

    As far as I’m concerned there is no “The Last Of is 2” They ripped out the mp, Ruined the story beyond repair and copied the game mechanics from the original. It’s crazy to think that after 7 years of waiting they would make something this bad.

Graphics are really good looking, some parts seem awkward graphically speaking. One of the best games I ever played, really enjoyed the gameplay as well as the graphics but what really stood out for me was the story, believable characters and interesting views over all the events, I get why some people can't get past Joel's death, but for me, it is what made the game engaging, aside from Ellie's, no other character's death would drive you to Seattle just for revenge. Это взрослая игра, классно проработанная, с крутой графикой и механиками. Я на своей фэтке спокойно играю, и удивляюсь как она ее тянет. Спасибо Naughty Dog за отличную оптимизацию.Это все тот же The last of us который мы любим. Все поклонникам советую не слушать хэйтеров, а все же самим поиграть, и составить мнение.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Just finished playing, and what an emotionally draining story naughty dog managed to tell. The first few hours managed to sucker punch the player in the gut leaving you with a sense loss over a beloved character. Forcing Ellie and the player to go on a journey for revenge, which if im being honest; I wanted more the Ellie did. Along the way you encounter several members of the group that started Ellie on her journey; unfortunately they have already been killed. On the good side you are able to takeout a couple others from the group. The violence you/Ellie use to beat and kill these people is both satisfyingly graphic and alarming, which is conveyed afterwards by Ellis reactions as to what she has done. As you play progress further the game throws a HUGE perspective shift, and has you play as the person who caused Ellie to sent Ellie on her path of revenge. This pissed me off big I didn't want to play this person. No I wanted revenge just like Ellie did. But as you continue through the game, you start to care for her(or at least I did) this allowed the player a different perspective and it gave the player a chance to, calm down?then towards the end of the game you the player/antagonist brutally beat the living craps out of Ellie for killing her friends... And the screen goes black. Which I thought was the end. Boy was I happy it wasn't a year passed in game showing Ellie with her ("lover") you'll find out if you play. And after some unexpected company you once again travel down the path of revenge and along the way Ellie is once again injured in a manner likewise to that of Joel and bitten(plot twist) not really though. And after fighting through a well armed and armored group of **** (Ellis words) you get to the moment we were waiting for. A knock down knife/fist fight between Ellie and the(most hated person. In a videogame)... Trying not to spoil too much. In the end though, what the player gets is not a happy or sad ending; but a cold resignation, an emptiness the comes with the desire for revenge. and in the end I felt that too. The game leaves you feeling drained emotionally. A truly amazing journey the game manages to take you on, this game is one of if not the best story driven game I have played. As well as the most emotionally hammering. Ill need some time before I go for a 100 completion not ready to go through all that again… Expand

    It breaks my heart to write this, but I really did not expect such a poor story after all these years of waiting. While there were a few genuinely good moments, majority of game filled up with plot holes. It just took elements of what worked for the first game without understanding what made them compelling.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Hello and good morning from where I am, I wanted to post this review starting with the fact that I would give this a 5-7 in the ratings but due to reasons I will soon talk about you will see why.

    Firstly I would like to say this game is not bad visually, it is an extremely beautiful game and one of the most graphically splendid games in the last/current decade however the mechanics are not as they could be, assuming that the assumptions that Naughty Dog pushes their employees to the brink of insanity are true it is understandable but where it lacks in refinery it offers an excess in accessibility truly making it so that anyone who is anyone can finish the game which is good on their part.

    Now the issues.
    Let me let out a disclaimer first, I have not played TLOU part 2 nor will I play.
    The reason why my review is so low is because of the story, the build up and the way the media are handling it. Firstly the story is horrendous, I've seen better writing in shows like Eromanga Sensei (shameless plug) anyway so the story is bad, starting from the way Joel and Tommy where acting in the beginning, they were acting like they only been surviving for a few days which as we all know is a lie, Joel of all people would know better after all in the first game he was untrusting and over cautious, to the point where he could anticipate an ambush for him to go and die in such an obvious ambush is insulting. Then it gets worse, Joel death was not necessary but it was expected but they did not make it worth it because Elly goes through the game killing over hundreds of people but spares Abby because of reasons not explained, she had a flash-back of Joel and stopped. Why?! The game won't tell you, Neil won't tell you and the media won't tell you because there is no reason why except to get you to come back and buy the next game. If this were truly a story of the cycle of violence Abbey should have died in that moment and got her due reward for killing Elly's father figure, ruining her relationship, biting her fingers off and basically ruining her life.

    Aside from the story we get Sony and Naughty Dog's blatant abuse of the copyright system and throwing out DMCAs to everyone who dared to even look at TLOU 2 leaks/memes the wrong way. I understand that you would want to keep these things uptight so you could make more money as a company but to abuse a system so much without consequence just because they talked about it is not okay and it will never be okay no matter what universe your in Naughty Dog and Sony will always be in the wrong in this situation. To add to the fire is Sony's double standard with censorship, so let me get this straight a 3-D fully acted scene in a game by a Sony exclusive is brilliant but a tiny bit of cleavage needs to be scrubbed from the face of the planet, that is not a good business practice, actually to be honest it isn't actually one or the other for this one anyway it isn't right what they are doing and should reevaluate their censorship rules.

    Finally the media the media has decided to collectively group all the haters together and put a label on them like, their transphobic, homophobic, perfectgamephobic or bots there all bots, instead of reporting the actual issues like the DMCAs, false advertising, etc. they want to paint any failure on us bigots for not supporting the game, as a journalist they need to cover theses stories with divinity and grace, refraining from pushing the narrative for their own gains and the defeat and deflation on the opposing side.

    So I'm sorry, it doesn't matter how good the animation is, how good the graphics are, how cleaned up the gameplay is. The story itself destroys this game. It doesn't just fail to add anything to the game, it completely detracts from it, erasing any good points the technical aspects granted this game. It deserves every 0/10 it gets.    … Expand

    Despite a fairly large number of minuses, the game turned out to be very good, especially if it is not biased towards it, although many people have done the opposite. Yes, there is propaganda in the game, but there are relatively few of them. In general, in my opinion the game is cool, and the average rating from users is undeserved.

After playing this game several time I kinda see Abby mirrors Elie in lots of ways and by the end it’s not Elie’s story but Abby’s. I know it’s far fetch but there is more character development for Abby’s side than Elie’s. (Quick note: the boat which is at the loading screen is Abby’s boat!)

    1. Gameplay
    Solid. It has what seem to be a few but very meaningful improvements from the 1st game. Better stealth aspect, a more detailed skill tree, also there are tons of options on how you can approach combat within game due to its size. You can go absolutely silent, or full Rambo mode. Each encounter is intense and brutal. I love the horror aspect of this game. It can get repetitive on few parts but thanks to the improved AI and added verticals, the combat gives you more pressure to decide and act quickly. 9/10

    2. Graphics
    Legendary. I haven't seen a game better than this one in terms of graphics. RDR2 and God of War are the closest. The environment, vegetation, facial expression, special effects were spectacular. 10/10.

    3. Story
    Alright, straight up I will be honest. I was aware of the theme setup for this 2nd installment of the series, which is based on hatred and vengeance (opposite of the 1st which revolves around love), and oh boy they gave it all and went extra mile. This game is not fun. It’s stressful, nerve-wracking, and depressing, on which those tonal approaches made it as the most emotional game I have ever played. There are few parts that I hate about the story, specifically on how they handle the death of Joel (which I realized was coming to him sooner or later due to consequences of his past actions). The story also feels a little bit dragged on few parts (looking for Leah and the last Rattlers arc), other than that, the pacing is acceptable. I understand playing the character that killed everybody’s beloved guy is enraging, but this is a perspective game/story. There are always two sides to every story, they have differing motivations. The game forced the player to play a different side of vengeance which I know makes people (including me) uncomfortable, but it forces you out of your comfort zone. To me, it’s not some **** writing, it’s challenging-writing. I actually grew fond of Abby as I played the game (no kidding, I could relate to her especially on 1 thing we feared about, heights. Funny I know, but they did incredible on this specific story arc of hers). Despite this game’s flaws, it left a big impact to me after finishing it. There are so many parts that I love, even to the parts where it hurts. That’s when I knew I understood the message that the game’s trying to deliver. I personally think that the entire point of the game is to criticize blind hatred and revenge. Thus the ending is about breaking the cycle of revenge. Abby blindly charted path for revenge and lost everything she had, the same goes for Ellie. Abby spared Ellie for the sake of her and Dina’s child, and Ellie did so for the sake of Lev. One final flashback where Ellie said she wants to forgive Joel is even proving the point where Abby in this story is parallel to Joel of the first game. A bad, evil person who’s done unforgivable things finds redemption in a child who needs protection. 8/10

    4. Characters
    There are plenty of new characters introduced in this game. They have great and diverse personalities, quality banter, and interesting backstories. Each of the factions introduced in this game also have compelling stories though a bit lacking in depth. My complaint is specific people were acting out of character from the 1st game. 8/10

    5. Design
    It is a linear game but with huge maps for exploring. The environment is surreal to behold. The animation produced by the motion capture is a beauty to look at. The cast' performance is brilliant 10/10

    6. Sound
    the sound of every scene and encounter, every gunshot and weapon modification, item interaction, etc were marvelous, it gave the game great immersion. I have no complaints, pretty much perfect. 10/10

    SCORE SUMMARY : 9/10

Literally didn't even give him a fighting chance. Gameplay is fun but thats not why I bought the game. I got it for the story and this game lacks.     Story isn’t compelling for most of the time. Bad decisions were made by all protagonists. Gameplay meh, very similar to the first part not really new mechanics that get you excited and deepens out anything in the game. Graphics are pretty good but it’s still PlayStation 30fps so that could never be a 10 out of 10. For instance HZD looks more asthonising (graphically) than this game.

It is a tough game to digest for most people, like everyone part1 is one of my favorite game and the treatment of some of the original characters can be questioned in this game until the end. The end absolutely justifies everything, it is a brutal world we cannot expect everything to go perfectly and everyone to act perfectly. I love how the game makes me uncomfortable and ask questions. This is not a game for most people
    You will either love it or hate it, the game is designed that way . I wish more games were created this way which questions our beliefs and makes us uncomfortable. Movies do that why not games. Not every game is meant to appeal to your sense of child, some are for the grown ups.

    The pinnacle of storytelling through gaming. The attention to detail is the un matched . The game wonderfully balances action set pieces with calm characters building moments. Great gameplay. A sample of next gen graphics, on a current gen system. Only flaw is the pacing of the story could have been better, it does drag at some moments with excellent set pieces scattered throughout.

    The first "Last of us" was one of my top 5 games of all time.
    Really felt attached to the characters and you really get to see Ellie and Joel become like father and daughter.

    With LOU2 they completely change who Joel was as a person. Why would a man who has clearly done bad stuff in the past...
    just randomly give his real name to a bunch of strangers, when they know the areas and who's around?! They (him and tommy) know there are people who may be after them because of Ellie/fireflies and their own past.

    They give him one of the worst deaths within the story. No build up to it...no nothing.

    Then they make you spend half the game playing as the person who murdered Joel in an attempt to make you feel sorry for her(Abbi), even though she doesn't have any remorse for the people she kills throughout the story. Ellie only wants revenge for Joel and you see that in the situations where she kills people, you see her heart breaking because in every situation...you(Ellie) are attacked first and HAVE NO CHOICE but to kill in defence.(the game doesn't give you any other options)

    Absolutely butchered this game!

    This game COULD HAVE been really good, even with this "Abbi wants revenge" as the games basis...even if Joel died ....but they played it all completely wrong...

    If you can't connect to the characters, how are you expected to enjoy or at least have 'the want' to play this game.
    And the fact that they keep trying to block any sort of constructive criticism from the public (y'know, the people that they want to take money off of) especially on social media is a joke!    … Expand

    The game look absolutely beautiful; environment designs, lighting, textures - but the story is a complete disappointment in every way. It seems like an attempt to take all that is sacred in the human experience, and force you to feel nothing but negativity. It is as though the decision making in the game development was given to a resentful child wanting to annoy the world.

    We know the bad reviews come from people who haven't played the game. You'd have to be braindead to actually play throught the whole thing and still give it less than a 7/10. TLOU2 improves in pretty much every category compared to the first opus and even dares to tell a story that leaves you conflicted at the end of it.     She still go on to chase a half dead abby and challenge abby to a fight only to let her go. Ellie has no mental strength at all and in the end she loses the person she loves all for revenge. I'm a huge fan of joel and im certainly not happy on how he died but i accept it although I think Joel wouldn't want Ellie to risk everything for revenge    … Expand

    Конечно же это еще один шедевр студии Naughty Dog. Я ставлю игре оценку в 9 баллов, так как я не увидел в ней тот сюжет который был в первой части. Но концовка очень сильная и для меня показалась даже сильнее первой части. Советую каждому уважающему себя геймеру пройти эту игру вы не пожалеете.Конечно же это еще один шедевр студии Naughty Dog. I understand most most people won't have the same experience, game offers big areas to explore, the story is well written, didn't like the idea of playing a new character that was portrayed at the start as a horrible character, but once you play as this new character I began to understand her role in the game more. The game was well written as well as the characters, the graphics are amazing slot of detail in the small things. Going to play this over and over again. Epic follow up to the first game. Hopefully when the Deva are ready they will make a 3rd.… Expand

    All it takes is a little push for Ellie to go mad and her quest for revenge story is a brutalistic masterpiece. Do I need to say more? Play the damn game and fully experience a masterfully crafted sequel that will keep you on the edge of your seat and witness the sheer brutality that needs to be played. The first game is all about love, and the sequel is all about hate and you can see why

    Don't get why so much hate about the game and the plot. Haven't finished it yet but looks amazing and I am having so much fun investigating everything with so much detail on every area of the game. We are in 2020 guys, open your minds and enjoy this masterpiece!

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
