    An honestly amazing game. Many people here hate it because of the story and how it seems to betray you, but that is exactly the point. The game is not supposed to make you comfortable, it's supposed to make you angry, and it does just that. I loved it. Only reason it isn't a 10 is because the gameplay can get slightly repetitive, but besides that, amazing.

    Grapghics, gameplay and the overall atmosphere of the game were amazing from start to finish. There wasn't a single boring part for me and i felt excited to play through from start to finish. The characters showed how there is aways 2 sides to every story and how revenge can be a way of life and a driving point. Thats exactly where most of the butt hurt 0 scores came from. When they didn'tGrapghics, gameplay and the overall atmosphere of the game were amazing from start to finish.     Any piece of media made me feel the way this game did. The only way I can describe it is: a rollercoaster of emotions that left you so tired and broken at the end.

    The Last of us part II continues the beautiful story and gameplay of part 1. I waited to play the entire game for myself before coming to a decision.     I don’t know why people are so unhappy about this game. The story is, though difficult to get through at the start, what was needed for this sequel. It stays true to the first last of us and creates a great scavenge survival horror scenario that the player can get lost in. One of my favourite games.

Abby is not, like most negative reviews are claiming ," shoehorned" into the story, she is very well flushed out and debatably the good guy of the game.     Относительно первой части, вторая сделана мрачнее и жестче.
    Сюжет и идея в игре в принципе не новы, но преподнесен он довольно рискованно. Мне такая подача зашла и я был удовлетворен. В конце игры был эмоционально опустошен, и 10 баллов ставлю в совокупности именно за то, что никакая игра ранее такие сложные ощущения не вызывала по итогу. Буду проходить повторно.    … Expand

    I will not have any spoilers in this review. like most of the people here I played the original 'The Last Of Us' when it came out on the PS3, and when I finished the game I perfectly remember saying "there has to be another one, this game is too good to stop here." Since then I knew/hoped there would be a second one released and when it was released saying that there would be a second one I was overjoyed, but also slightly apprehensive. I figured that there was no way that the second game could be as good or better than the original due to its sheer majesty and storytelling, the last of us was my absolute favorite game and I knew that it was even the best-released game on the PS3 and was even near the top of the charts on the PS4, so while I was super excited for the next one to come out, there was a slight air of anxiety. This all changed once I saw the first scene, every single bit of anxiety and stress just washed away and complete overwhelming joy was all that remained, I honestly shed a tear at the sight, it was absolutely breathtaking. The detail and the returning characters melted my heart completely and nostalgia flooded in. however, this was just the beginning.

    This game, the story, the emotions, the gameplay it all 100%, without a single doubt in my mind devastated me emotionally. I just finished the game literally 15 minutes ago and it was magical. such detail and emotional rollercoaster through the entire thing I cant even think about how to explain to you how unbelievably amazing this game is. this is not just a game honestly, it is apart of me now and forever. it has taught me life lessons that I couldn't get from anywhere else except experiencing them in person myself -that will make sense once u play the game- I just am so happy with this game. I didn't think TLOU could be topped by anything and if I'm being completely honest TLOU2 beat it in every day by miles. I hope that people will read this and be able to get a feel of how this game can affect a person after they have played TLOU and then TLOU2 because these two games are by far the greatest ever made and in my heart, they and their messages will stay forever. thank you, naughty dog team, for creating such a divine game, I know that it a very rough journey for most of you but this game you all created has changed me forever.     En mi opinion en historia le daría un 7 siento que la muerte es muy forzada e inorgánica, siento que hay partes innecesarias que no aportan nada a la trama y solo alargan el final,pero en cuanto a jugabilidad y gráficos le doy una 10

Where do I even start, how about the part where Joel is tortured and murdered in such a inappropriate way to send off this character. This man was part of the driving force behind the first game, a person who you become so invested in because you see the tragedy he has gone through, and to just off him like that is so lazy, Joel survived for 20 plus years being an idiot?? Yeah i don’t think so, not in a million years would he trust those shady people to begin with. And let’s talk about having to play as his killer for HALF THE GAME. I feel no sympathy whatsoever for this piece of crap character, everything you do as her is so pointless because you are just following behind what you already did as Ellie in killing of her friends. It’s like the developers had no clue what to do at all, they wanted to make the game longer than the first so they make you play a game twice as long as the first as some Macho man looking girl who you couldn’t give less of a crap about. And the way the story ends is so un satisfying. Ellie gets crapped on all game and in the end when she’s gonna get her moment, the writers think you know what? As if we haven’t made this game bad enough, let’s let the antagonist of the game who murdered such a beloved character, yeah let’s her live like get outta here with that dumb crap. There aren’t many pluses to this game, the gameplay is beat for beat the same exact gameplay as it was 7 years ago, so there nothing new and exciting there. The character design for some of the new characters introduced is so hideous I can’t stand to look at some of them, namely Abby who looks like a freaking ogre. But if I had to give a positive, obviously the graphics are stunning, that’s pretty much a given since naughty dog have a good track record with that, but saying that graphics doesn’t mean good game, you want more examples of that just look at every EA game ever. Another positive I have are the Joel and Ellie flashbacks in the game, that’s what made this series was those twos relationship and I wish it was more focused on that. There’s my review for this game. If you are a long time fan of this series I would strongly recommend you do not play this game and just look on YouTube if you want to see what happens. To people who are new to the series you’ll probably have an ok time with the game and not understand some of the story issues people are having with the game because you haven’t played the first, so to you I’d say spend your money on something more meaningful like the first game if you really want bang for your buck.… Expand

    There is nothing which I would change with the game: great music, great graphics and great story as we continue the story from the first part and not begin a second one.

    We've got a story which changed the characters, it is a game of hate and love.Characters somehow at some point die or either change. Great endings where everyone is happy and lives happy doesn't exist. Decisions have been taken(Ellie took hers) and even if I might have choosen differently, that doesn't mean that the actual ending is bad. It is the end from ND's point of view, like it or hate it. And it's a damn good end and might be a good start for other stories if it has to be.

    There have been many shocking scenes where I had to take a few moments to process them. But that is exactly what we got promised.

    Passed really a lot of time since I've really enjoyed a First Party game like this one. I enjoyed it and I will enjoy it playing it again and I'll for sure play it on PS5.

    I hope Naughty Dog will continue to give us great story telling games and that every single Game Developer(First, Second and Third Party) will put the love and great work for details into their games like ND did.    … Expand

    Naughty dog for the sake of being edgy, has lost a lot of fans of the Last of us. Abby was just the worst character. Instead of making a satisfying tale of revenge we got a complicated and boring plot about an eye for an eye and last minute change of hearts.

    Technical marvel and groundbreaking graphics. The story on it’s own could have been decent, however, being a successor to the 2013 masterpiece makes it pure nonsensical trash that feels like trolling more than a continuation to the epic journey from the first part. I recommend that you buy it only when the price goes down especially if you enjoyed the gameplay from the original.

    This Game is a masterpiece, one of the best games I've played. The gameplay is awesome, the story is fair and really touching! Naughty Dog is an incredible studio. Don't be influenced by haters, judge by yourself and try to understand the moral involving the characters. Few games could demonstrate the variation between styles like TLOU 2. You should play this for sure!

    Man I had expectations but this game blew them out of the water. Definitely wasn't what I was expecting in a very good, but brutal and emotional way. LOVED IT. My GOTY pick so far. Can't take these other reviews seriously, even if the story isn't your cup of tea (go into it with an open mind) the gameplay and production values alone are off the charts and would rate this game no lower than an 8

    Neil, thank you for not coddling us with invincible characters that have no humanity, no repercussions for their actions, and no realistic growth from experiences. This game was a refreshing departure from the cookie cutter, black and white happily ever after crap, and throws us deep into the gray end that is humanity. Loved this game as much or more than the first.

It’s how he gets killed. And then, having to play 10-12 hours which is basically the entire second half of the game as Abby. At that point in time nothing that was shared in “her” story, contributed to me feeling any sort of compassion. To me, this is genuinely the biggest reason why fans of this franchise had a hard time accepting this story. Plenty of other ways to kill a main character/hero. This is not the way Neil. I like everything about it: New advanced gameplay, very realistic interesting plot that shows how revenge is bad, incredible graphics even on ps4 fat, game looks so much better than TLOU1, also engine is very polished - I didn't saw any bug even though I completed that game for three times! I so want to notice that this game has very stable smooth cinematic framerate, my eyes are so pleased! I can only silently applaud for the character design. I can't stop thinking about how this game is a big punch in the face of tlou fans, developers destroyed everything that was good, they made the second half so boring that Desert Bus now seems like a fun dynamic game. The plot is absolute meaningless and throughout the whole game we can only see the sadistic tendencies of the developers, I don’t understand how such game can be released. Graphics, Physics, Scenarios, Level Design etc. The only thing I sinned more or less was the story that is important in games of this style.     I completed the game and am playing it again. I liked the first game but I didn't fall in love with it. In fact, I prefer this game to the first and is one of the best games I have ever played. I agree with the critics giving this game a 95/100. I genuinely give this game a 10/10.

I think the direction and the narrative focus of the game didn't make sense in regards to the characters, especially where they were at present in their respective timelines. Joel deserved a better end than he got and the direction they decided to go with would have made more sense later in the franchise. Instead you are left with something that feels rushed and not very well thought or fleshed out. I understand what they are trying to get across and the message they are trying to communicate and I think it's a great message by the way, however it just feel the delivery of it was poorly executed and delivered. What I did like was the game play and graphics and also the flashback of the relationship between Ellie and Joel play out over the 5 years at Jacksonville. Overall an okay game but not a masterpiece by any stretch. I expected better.… Expand

Just the amount of polish, work and love that has gone into this game is incredible. I agree that at first I was apprehensive about playing as a new character but they grew on me as I played and I really changed my mind and the ending is just so satisfying.

    I love that they included a diverse cast of characters and touched on some really strong topics and powerfully demonstrated different perspectives. I don’t want to go into too much detail for spoiler sake but this is 100% worth £50.

    The major con I have for the game is pacing in some parts as there’s a lot of slow moving sections and long cut scenes which is why I’ve knocked off 1 point as these parts hinder the replayability slightly (would be great if ND lets you skip these sections).    … Expand

    Você tem que ver Joel que no primeiro jogo não confiava nem na propria sombra se portar como um amador quando em presença de estranhos e ser torturado pelo "ser anabolizado" chamado Abby... E como se a piada não fosse suficiente Neil Drunkman foi inserido no jogo (o mexicano é a lata dele)... Claro Ellie parte em vingança e destrói meio mundo para isso, mas na hora que tem a chance... Ela não faz contrariando tudo até então... Claro depois que a tela fica preta eu acho que a Elliie se enforcou na arvore perto da casa...

    E claro Abby vive feliz para sempre...    … Expand

    Absolute disrespect towards the 1st game. The story and the characters are so horribly written that it doesn't even make me angry anymore, just sad. There is nothing new in the gameplay we haven't seen already in other games. The only thing that's truly great about this game are the graphics. But that's it. The quality of the story rivals the story of Star Wars VIII: The last jedi.

    I am a huge fan of the first game. Though I try my best to lower my expectations, I find it hard to say that tlou2 is a great RPG. Everything except for the story is great, I'm especially impressed with the detailed character model and physics effect, hail to the best ropes in video game history.

    But this is a story focused RPG, therefore major flaws in storytelling are simply not tolerable. Without spoiler, I'll list a few problems I found with the plot: 1. Characters don't behave consistently, one second they kill and torture people with absolutely no remorse, the next second they suddenly turned into a saint. 2. Unlike its predecessor, the theme of this game feels somewhat distant for me. I found it hard to sympathize with the choices made by the main characters. 3. A lot of basic stuff, like the language used by characters, handling of death scenes, etc. is simply not detailed and compelling enough. 4. The enemy AI and introduction of dogs as an enemy made it a lot harder to clear the game without killing anyone. Considering the game advocates against violence, this is somewhat sarcastic (how should a game discourage users on violent actions? Refer to MGS series!). 5. Some players may feel they are being pushed to make certain decisions.

    Talking about the 'pushy' aspect of this game. I am a born pacifist. I don't hate anyone, and would certainly choose to let go of hatred and vengeance. But I wouldn't dare to make that decision for someone else! As I am not in their shoes, it would be so arrogant of me to claim that I know better, or that I even understand what they feel. Some might be able to accept the game more if they are given choices like was done in other games (like the Witcher series, or even GTA).

    Even considering all these flaws, TLOU2 is not a bad game, why so many people gave extremely negative reviews? In my opinion, this is a retaliation against the high media score. For games rated 9+ on Metacritic, like FF7/10, like Zelda ocarina of time, like MGS4, you can easily scroll 10 pages on Amazon without finding a single negative review. The fact that this game got such mixed reviews on Amazon US and Japan, on PS store, and Metacritic user rating, speaks out the fact that the game media, who are supposed to be a reliable reference of a game's overall 'likability' (LUL on that), are not doing their jobs as good as we would like. Taste is a very diverse thing, yes, if there were more diverse opinions on this game from the media, I am sure a lot of people would not be as angry and disappointed as they are now.

    By the way, I think it's pretty rude to accuse other people as being homophobic/misogynic just because they dislike this game, as I said the taste is a very diverse thing, the fact that someone disagrees with you, does not make them evil ,or stupid. It's not like Ellie was not gay in the first game, right? No one was complaining about it back then, as a matter of fact, WE ALL LOVE ELLIE! And that is precisely why this game hurt me so much-- the person I love turned into a complete stranger.

    This is a difficult and even crazy time. I was hoping a masterpiece would bring us together through shared enthusiasm and love, and make this world slightly better. But it didn't, it made people even more divided and I am deeply saddened by this fact.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. In my opinion the game was great, good graphics, good sound, kinda gory sometimes. Yeah, true, the game didnt evolved a lot combat wise, the aiming is still kinda clunky for me ( but bow's aiming has been greatly improved)

    I think the story shouldve ended back when Abby let Dina and Ellie go, after that it feels so dragged on and literally nothing changes beside Ellie losing 2 fingers.
    Don't mind the bad reviews, the story is not an oscar winning story but its pretty good.

    I liked more playing with Abby actually, hopefully ill get to see some more adventures of her and Lev.    … Expand

    I am huge fan of 1st part. Nice story it and game play. I do not want 2nd part, cause story was completed.
    But as a fan of first I decided to give a chance for 2nd part. What can I say.. It is **** waste of time. Mechanics of game is OK. But plot and characters are disaster. I want to play for normal guys, I like when women is a women and men's are men's. Not **** Trans.. Or smth else..

    I'm amazed by the art team that was dedicated to this project.
    Hands down, the graphics are the most amazing aspect of this game.
    The gameplay has significantly been improved and feels fluid and clean and most of all, FUN.

    Now the reason I have to give this game a negative score.

    How DARE you Naughty Dog.
    How DARE you Neil Druckmann.

    This bastardized story you gave us isn't even close to what people want out of a game.
    And no, you don't HAVE to give people the story they want, nor should you be expected to deliver a product that you feel isn't right.
    But how dare you take the story TLOU gave us, and then ruin it with this sequel.
    Joel died. Fine, if that's what must happened to get the shock factor and emotional turmoil across to the player, you did what you had to do.
    But to then turn around, and force the player to play as Abby?
    To force the player to walk in their shoes in an attempt to gain sympathy points for this monster you created?
