    Absolute joke of a game. I waited 7 years for ND to ruin what could have been the greatest game of all time. The game's story dosen't line up with the first game and neglected the crucial established character traits of the main characters is reminiscent of GOT's failure in season 8. Hopefully the game is revealed to just be a bad dream by ellie by the devs

You soon figure out why Abby killed Joel and you start to feel for her. Most of the player reviews are people who haven't even played the game yet. They just rate it low because they know Joel died. Some people are pathetic. This game is amazing so far and I love that ellie is a lesbian and I respect it. Why are people so mad and mean to this game? I don't understand.     Os gráficos são bons, mas é uma dos piores roteiros da história dos games. Bastante forçado, criando ações ridículas, para justificar uma matança ridícula, para que na hora da vigança final, tenha um perdão ridículo. A única coisa que salva nesse jogo é a jogabilidade e os gráficos, o resto é lixo.

    Characters are real and have depth and emotion

The game looks amazing and the sound are phenomenal but i think that the main of this saga is the story and the characters and those parts of the game are totally ruined. If you kill one of the most beloved characters in the saga, early in the game and want to bring in another character to replace him, you have to give a story to them.… Expand

People that defends this game just because of the graphics are indeed stupid. Graphics don't make the game, storylines do, mechanics do, etc.

    Not even 3 hours of game and they just kill Joel, with a freaking golf stick. He at first saves a member of some group and after that the hole group goes to a house, which Joel never have been there before! In the previous game we see how Joel is never confident about his location, he never feels comfortable, always doubting about everything, being always one step ahead about all situations, he is savage. But now, in this game, it's weird how a smart man transformed into a neglected man. He deserved better. Or even a honorable death if it's the "only" way to continue a story. A man that we all cared about, and we see his death in this miserable way, it hurts to see, to be honest.

    They also did false advertising in the trailer, putting in a lot of moments Joel, making it seem like he was going to live all along. But that of course didn't happen.
    Later Ellie looks for revenge, wanting to kill Abby (the person who killed Joel). Abby (no one knows why) left Ellie and Tommy escape (yep, they both watched the death of Joel... Well, Tommy was knocked out so... I guess just Ellie did), afterwards she goes after Ellie. They have a mini confrontation, and then when Abby had the opportunity of killing Ellie, you guessed it! She leaves again.
    Ellie is now going absolutely after her (Abby), in the process of getting to her, Ellie kills 4 (or more, sorry if i counted wrongly) of her friends.

    At the end Ellie finds Abby like like a Jesus model in a wooden stake. She saves her of the stake, Abby gets a friend that was on the same situation, they go to a boats that where at the shore. Before Abby and his sleepy friend leave on the boat, Ellie then decides to fight... Punches there, punches over there, ok. Ellie is about to kill her by drowning her, the moment we all expected, the revenge we were all looking for through all the game, this revenge was the aim of the story... But well, you know how this turned up... Ellie is about to kill her, but a flash of Joel playing the guitar appears, and for some reason we can't really understand, Ellie stops drowning her and she let her go leave, the main purpose of the story was to finish her. Why? That doesn't make any sense. If this was real, if you get a flash of someone you love and you have the person who took that other person from you... Wouldn't you get even more pissed off and kill her at the instant? This thing of "killing is bad" doesn't make sense because you just killed a bunch of people just to get to the main objective, you can't use the moral when you want, because that's not hoe it works! It just looks too forced.

    Another thing is the orientation of the protagonist, Ellie. The problem is not that she is homosexual/bisexual, the problem is that they don't normalize it, even at the start they talked about how she kissed a girl... Like, we don't care, is fine if you like whatever you like, but don't put it every time in coalition. If Ellie was a heterosexual girl, probably we wouldn't see a lot of conversation at all over her oriented sexuality. I really think they use the topics of the LGBTQ+ topics just for marketing.    … Expand

Es muy simple lo unico que deberian haber hecho es dividir las historias, muestrenme a abby como lo que es desde la posicion de ellie pero no se salgan de esa historia en ningun momento mover esa muerte tan asquerosamente mal hecha en el inicio y ponerla directamente en el final y despues desbloqueamos a abby. es tu eleccion el elegirla como personaje y si quieres seguir como ellie seguiras como ellie en su historia hasta la parte final en la cual se encuentra con abby denuevo, en ese punto pasa todo el rollo de la venganza y ves al niño, no lo conoces pero sabes que seguramente lo recluto en su ruta, en la pelea final tener la eleccion de matar a abby seria un puntaso por que seria una eleccion irremediable asi que si jugaste con ellie antes literalmente no podrias ganar el la ruta de abby dejando a esta saga donde se merece en algo unico y especial pero prefirieron desordenar la historia, darnos momentos el control de abby sin ningun tipo de motivo y nosotros tener que derrotar a ellie que si lo planteas asi, yo como jugador no voy a querer que gane abby… Expand

    There gameplay is smooth as butter, the visuals are breathtaking. The story narrative is the best I've seen in a game for years. If you don't like this game it's either because they're gay and you can't handle it, because you like games that are all action and no story or because you're a simp.

I found the story to be devastating, heartbreaking, even enraging and I loved it. I think Naughty Dogs prowess in storytelling shines here more than any of their other games. The gameplay isn’t revolutionary, but it is polished.     The game is **** trash story-wise, sure graphics and gameplay, same **** as the TLoU 1, compering gen to gen but this game was never about the gameplay it was about the story. Garbage, probably some amateur story writer would write something better than this **** trash.

    It's not the story that those who played the first part was expecting but it is FOR ME is perfect for the characters. The addition of Abby as playable character is much as good as Ellie's. However they didn't made the same decision as far as revenge goes. Kudos to Naughty Dog's team.

However, I applaud Naughty Dog for doing this. The story has been a massive surprise for me as I strictly avoided any leaks or spoilers before playing the game.

    I actually love how dark and bleak the world and the story line are. People really need to appreciate that the game is set is a post-apocalyptic world full of infected/fungus-zombies, which has continued to spiral into chaos since the infection began. Desperate human beings are committing horrendous acts in this desperate fight for survival. I played this game knowing full well that this is the context. I didn't play this game so it can make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I still support, empathize and care about Ellie and feel that given what has happened, everything she has done has been justified. I also feel that trying make the game overly positive or reducing the level of violence would just feel like a shame and would almost insult how horrific the world these characters are living in really is. The violence and the darkness make it all feel that much more real. Having said that, there are indeed many beautiful moments where life still has value, human decency can shine and the love the characters have for one another is clear.

    The story itself is very entertaining, dynamic, and unpredictable. I feel that Ellie is still the same old Ellie and the acting and character development is just as good as the first game.

    I am been so invested and on the edge of my seat since the first minute I started playing. I am just as attached to the characters in this game as I was while playing the Last of Us. I feel their pain and desperation. I feel so vulnerable while playing and every kill of both human and infected feels significant and like a real accomplishment contributing to my fight for survival.

    The game play is incredible, they have taken the Last of Us and pushed the PS4 to the limit. It is more challenging than the first game and the AI seem more lifelike and are more difficult. The fighting feels so real and intense and takes strategy and careful planning. I can't over emphasize the satisfaction that comes from setting up an explosive to have someone trigger it while you watch their limbs been blow off as they scream, or blasting off the leg of an infected person with a shotgun and watching them drag themselves around on their arms. Its full on and so much fun.

    The world is also incredibly beautiful, deep, and immersive. There are so many little hidden places and challenges throughout the game which you could easily overlook, and it just makes it feel that much more like your own special story. Combat scenes can take place over entire avenues, involving multiple buildings which you can be running in and out of. Combat can also involve the interaction of both human and infected AI which can end up killing one another while you remain hidden (if you help to instigate their combat). The graphics and attention to detail is incredible from start to finish. Wait until you smash open a vending machine or display cabinet while searching for supplies.

    From what I can see however, every person who hates this game has an issue with the story and not with the world, graphics, game play ect. I can’t give my complete opinion of the game until I finish it, but currently, this is the most I have ever enjoyed a video game and that is saying a lot. I think the critical praise of this game is spot on. I feel that most people are upset because they are so attached to the first game and its characters and just want an obvious continuation with the same vibe. Had the first game never existed, none of these people would be complaining. I also think that anyone who can't handle two girls kissing in this game needs to go and get F#*K*D.    … Expand

    Avoided leaks. Loved the first game. Went in unbiased. Quit two hours in. Came back and had to quit again, too many plot holes, bad writing. Who is the target audience for this game? It certainly wasn't the majority of people like me who enjoyed the first go 7 years ago. I won't be trading this to gamestop, this is going in the trash.

    The flaw this game had, was the preexisting relationship the players had from the last game, tipping the balance of emotions so far to Joel and Ellie's side that Abby would never be able to convince them of Joel being a bad guy as a legitimate argument. I certainly hope that people someday realize the qualities of this game when they are done actively looking for flaws in denial of certain events. That they will find that their emotions came in the way of a quite interesting and different narrative understanding. I think that even if you think the story is less effective this game at least deserves a 6-7 AT LEAST with the gameplay, visuals and worldbuilding. All the 0's are a clear overreaction and emotional irrational attempt to make the gamedevs feel bad about doing what they did to the player's beloved characters. I recommend buying the game and at least try to find the qualities I have found by accepting the premise they put before me and staying off the bandwagon we so easily end up on these days :)… Expand

    I am not a massive fan of "the last of us", I played it, I enjoyed it. The Last of Us part 2 plays a lot like the first one, there are improvements, especially with generational leap that the PS4 brings(I played TLOU on ps3). The TLOU2 has the same bleak style to it and personally I think the cause for vengeance was a bold plot move. this game is a typical story driven sony game and it isI am not a massive fan of "the last of us", I played it, I enjoyed it. I really enjoy these style of games as they can tell interesting stories with fun gameplay. although replayability for me suffers, as this is not the sort of game I would play multiple times. if you want some interesting story, good cover/stealth shooting gameplay and can handle some darker themes, this is a really good game.… Expand

Mais infelizmente o jogo peca um pouco na parte da história, pois na minha experiência com o jogo meu foco era matar a Abby qualquer custo mais não é o que acontece. Na minha percepção a pessoa que saiu pior na situação foi a Ellie, também uma parte bem ruim do jogo e a do jogo é a enrolação principalmente jogando com a Abby. Na minha opinião todo mundo que jogou o primeiro tem que jogar esse, mais tendo em mente que pode se chatear um pouco com o jogo com o fator historia… Expand

    This game is an absolute masterpiece, kudos to Neil Druckmann and the Naughty Dog crew. Hands down the best, most immersive, emotionally draining, and intense video gaming experiences of my life. I can’t wait to immediately replay it.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. personally i dont fully understand the this game is getting from players. the introduction almost matches the first game in intensity, and the death of Joel being unceremonious and quick made the whole situation feel more real. He had no last words to Ellie and hers were yelling at him to get up. And Abby as a character who learns compassion for children that otherwise she would have shot, really turns her into the protagonist of the story. Sure we all love Ellie but we have to admit she is the villain of this story. Abby sought after revenge for a reasonable reason, and didn't kill the others. Ellie rampaged and killed all of Abby's friends as revenge. And then doesn't kill abby to end the cycle of violence caused by Joel. Ellie lost everything, her "father" her girlfriend, and adopted child. The fact that people think because there were gay characters and a transgender child means they pushed their agenda amazes me. So what that they were in the game. Just because its the apocalypse doesnt mean they dont exist anymore. Ellie and Dina are still amazing characters and Lev was very likable. I thoroughly loved this game in the whole 27 hours i spent with it. The graphics were perfect. Writing was realistic and personable, the story was strong between both playable characters. The encounters were excellent. Gameplay additions although few were very well made. I absolutely give this game a 10/10 and don't understand any people that don't agree. And if you give it a bad review because you just don't like Homosexuals or trans people, then you don't deserve to write a review… Expand

    Graphics are great, voice acting is top notch, but gameplay has not evolved from the part 1. The real loser here is the story. It is complete garbage, bad pacing, horrible mistreatment of legacy characters, and just to much other nonsense to list here. I do not recommend purchasing this game

    These are absolutely agenda filled reviews. I've been playing for 20 hrs and I'm loving it. I love the conflicted characters and choices. True it doesn't feel like absolutely new game but legit successor and continuation of TLOU1. Abby's escape sequence in the first 2 hrs of the game is what we play games for.

    The gameplay is solid, but there's nothing new since the first one.
    HOWEVER. The story is so poorly written that none of that matters. They are trying to deliver the message that the violence is bad... like seriously?
    Ellie never stops making stupid decisions.
    Abby is not likable at all. How we are supposed to like her after that scene from the beginning? And we have to play HALF of the game as the girl who killed Joel with a Golfclub like a pig.
    "Oh, look, my dad used to save wild animals and now is dead and that's why I go crazy with golfclubs"

    And the end is pure garbage. GOT final type of garbage. All the game for no payoff. Both walk away with all their respective friends dead.    … Expand

They did exactly what I hoped they would, by extending the world to other story arcs. Without having Abby's story told in this way and without Joel dying this would have been a complete waste. They were able to continue the story from where it ended last.. Ellie knew Joel was lying in the end and we get to see the fallout from his decision, emotionally from both perspectives.… Expand

    It was filled with plot holes, shock value for the sake of shock value, and the only meaning to find behind any of it was childish and shallow.

I think most of the low reviews are from people who just play until that sad and twisted scene but I don't understand humanity... People want video games to be more realistic and sad but true that's life... In a blink of an eye you're gone. I know, some people even claim that Joel is te best character ever written but be honest what end do yo think will suit better? This is not uncharted people! The dark world that Druckmann created is wild and brutal so that's what he and his team still gives you in this masterpiece. Game of thrones did this many times before and I don't remember this kind of bombing. And about the complaints about this game being "woke" man... Look around you... The World is changing in a accelerated way we need to move with it good characters don't need to be of some specific sexual orientation some people may say that's not the matter but I read a lot of comments throwing hate to Abby saying a lot of homofobic things... And that's messed up. Just to end this personal opinion I may say it's groundbreaking the work and effort Naughty Dog put into this it's truly amazing and I didn't spect less from that monster of entertainment. And one last message to the people who has doubts about the game : leave all prejudices behind and most of all leave behind all the people who's trying to mess up the game. the game is truly amazing...     Es un buen juego , aunque no le hace el honor que merece la increíble historia que nos entrego la primera parte.
    A pesar de todo , es un juego que no merece el trato que está recibiendo solo por algunos hechos que suceden en la historia , está muy lejos de ser un 3 , resulta muy disfrutable y en ocasiones superior a la primera entrega , logra mantenerte tenso por gran cantidad de tiempo y    Es un buen juego , aunque no le hace el honor que merece la increíble historia que nos entrego la primera parte.
    A pesar de todo , es un juego que no merece el trato que está recibiendo solo por algunos hechos que suceden en la historia , está muy lejos de ser un 3 , resulta muy disfrutable y en ocasiones superior a la primera entrega , logra mantenerte tenso por gran cantidad de tiempo y tenerte pegado a la tv por muchas horas, aunque como ya mencioné , la historia no es la mejor.

The build the relationship between Joel and Ellie in the first game and this should of continued their relationship but instead the kill Joel in like the first hour and then you play as Ellie not bad but story is bad. You play the killler of Joel afterwards and they try to make you love her but she’s so annoying and unlovable that it doesn’t work you want to see her killed worse then what happened to Joel.… Expand

    Just beat it. Not sure if it's a 10 or not yet I just felt obligated to score try and combat its baby-bomb score. A more mature and depressing game than its predecessor. If you enjoyed the first one please do yourself a favor and don't listen to the review bombing (the game was doomed before it released) and play this game. It will move you.

    A true masterpiece. Harrowing, beautiful, scary, and most importantly original. I dont understand the hate by the loud minority but all I can do is recommend it. A very special game from start to finish.

    I want to preface this by saying that I have no problems with the diversity of the cast. With that said, this game is miserable. The original Last of Us was a game about hope and a broken man learning to love again. This game takes those themes and butchers them.

    I played through the original Last of Us probably 5 times, it's the only game of the previous generation I did that with (I normally don't even finish games). I can't imagine picking this game up ever again, and honestly I wish i'd never played it. I'm sure this game will sell like gangbusters, but I think if the developers ever try their hand at TLOU3, they'll quickly find how many of their fans they left behind with this entry.    … Expand
