Ellie’s whole revenge plot into forgiveness left me stupefied. Then the game trying to get me to empathize with Abby after golfing Joel to death wasn’t working. I got through it all hoping I’d get sweet vengeance but all I got was Ellie losing everything everybody and a few fingers. Just made me want to go replay Last of Us and forget this existed. As far as I’m concerned this game is just fan fiction that never really happened.… Expand

    The gameplay is fun. The music is great. The visuals are stunning. I'd bet half the people who are writing bad reviews haven't even played the game and just watched a streamer play it. The story is realistic and brutal. It doesn't hold your hand and expects you to understand how revenge works. A major theme in this story is that there are no heroes or villains in the real world. Just people who make good or terrible decisions. There is no main character and anyone can die anytime. In a world as brutal as this one, people rarely get a death that they deserved. If you can understand that, then you should like this game.

    In relation to other reviews. It's popular to hate on things in this day in age. It's ok to like things. But also, when reviewing a game it is important to look at it objectively. All aspects of this game are near perfect. The only thing that is controversial is the story. On that fact alone anyone giving ridiculously low scores like 0s or 1s obviously acting in bad faith because its fun to follow the hate train. Taking into account the quality of the game and my personal enjoyment of the story I believe the game warrants a 10/10. Regardless of the trolls and bandwagoners, those who are genuine about their dislike/hate for the game's story show that they care in some manner and felt some kind of emotion. A game that can draw emotion from people is proof that there is something to be emotional about. Therefore, If you're slightly curious, play it first then form your own opinions.    … Expand

    Убили Джоэла и вас это так огорчило!? , так все правильно на то и расчёт мы должны желать мести, и мир жесток и все логично для нас в первой части Джоэл поступил правильно, а для тех кто был по ту сторону баррикад? Все привыкли что есть плохие и хорошие а тут вам показали 2 стороны и выбили всех из калеи. Самым сложным конечно было играть за Эбби(к концу её повествования проникаешься этим персонажем и принимаешь её) , но если бы не было части про Эбби то концовка бы не получилась. В общем получилась цельная игра которая вызывает кучу имоций и пришлось пройти через, отрицание, злость, торг, депрессия, принятие. И то что это вызвало столько эмоций у игроков доказывает что Дракмана гений. А как это сделано каждая мелочь которая показана у Элли дрожащие руки, взгляд, надрыв в голосе, панические атаки пробирает до мурашек. Я так думаю кто не согласен ваша ниша это танки и форт найт. Игра 100 проц только для взрослых тех кто понимает что хэппиэнды в жизни это редкость и за все нужно платить ,и не смотря на зомби и пост апокалипсис самая реалистичная игра. Купил в предзаказ и не пожалел ни рубля. 100 заслуженно, жду продолжения.    … Expand

I could write a paper on it and I won't, but the effort is so noticable.The story however. Is the reason this game isn't a 9. It starts off so strong. And iota of mystery and good writing fill the air and you can so tell that they are gonna reveal something crazy. But they just let that tension dwindle and die and it becomes just a simple revenge story. Not to say that it isn't neat. But there were 3 story beats that actually made me feel something. Out of a total 10ish big story beats. The ending kept the same era of bittersweet uncertainty about it like the first one and it was great. I loved the ending. I loved the beginning. 60% of the stuff in-between was lackluster. Cool moments as always but I wish they did more. Everything else. Phenomenal. The graphics are stunning. Even on my dinky PS4. Kudos to that..Gameplay is great. All they did was build on what they already had in the first game. Why fix what ain't broke? Close combat is my favorite, feels heavy, and on high difficulties it's unforgiving as all hell. And holy **** is it scary. Made me jump a few times and I'm pretty good when it comes to spoopy games. Final thoughts here. Is it better than the first game? No. Is it worse? No. It's about on par overall. Storywise, the first one shined. Gameplaywise, the second one shined. Naughty dog did a good job with this one. But I wish they hired some better writers.… Expand

    Expected the game to Take off where tlou1 ended. However the story took another turn.. instead of a good story I got a lot of painfully obvious moral cookies. The fourth wall is also constantly torn down when immersion breaks due to sometimes sloppy coding but mostly gaps in story-telling. I liked the graphics, couldn’t expect more rly.     The game play was more of the same, but the story was AWEFUL.
    It doesn't work, it throws out what you liked from the first game and changed the story to be about some new "girl" that would sound better as a hypothetical fanfic

Там было это самое развитие но мало. Очень. Мне хотелось больше Элли, больше Дины, больше Томми, а не Эбби. Хотя сюжетную линию с Эбби прописали качественно... Но это не то...
    Концовка неоднозначная. Элли убивала всех на своём пути к Эбби, а её саму пощадила... ?

    Everyone involved in this game should be proud of themselves.
    This game is so damn good.
    Guitar mechanics, graphics (especially hair), story telling all fantastic.
    It's definitely not for everybody, but it's an experience that was worth the seven year wait.
    I'll need another 7 years before I can play again to recover from the emotional trauma.
    So proud of everyone involved!!
    10/10.

You do get lost in exploring the world and find perfect little gems that shake you and at the same time relieve the tension and you understand that the story is about growing up in a **** up wasteland whoIt's sad to see all these bad reviews.. not sure if the new age gamers mature enough to play this or I am stuck in a nostalgic dream.     Story 6/10 again, personally would put it higher, but I know people have serious issues with the game and especially it's ending, which won't be spoiled here but know it's a case of you will either be fineness with it or despise it.

They took the characters that so many of us have grown to love and care about, and sadistically SLAUGHTERED them for no reason other than shock value. I am not angry about the fact that Joel died, I am angry that it wasn't done correctly. Nothing about his death seemed right. In fact, the entire plotline as a whole was GARBAGE. I will never buy another Naughty Dog game again. I can't believe that I waited 7 years for this disappointment.… Expand

Then you choose a writer who has no idea how to write a game and then you get TloU2. This game is a disgrace. This is not Canon and not existing for me. Get your political agenda out of the gaming industry.

    Even if you overlook that part. The writing is so bad a middle schooler could've written a better story in a day.

    Both characters made poor choices at great costs. Now, each will need to deal with the ramifications for those choices.

    Story was poor is deciphering the characters. Graphics are great. Gameplay is great. The choice of having Abby as a secondary main character, not good at all. Abby was a beast with an unquenchable lust for violence. It's tough to see the humanity and flow of the story in this game.

    Amazing..edge of your seat storyline ,gorgeous graphics obviously what else would you expect from naughty dog , and its long as hell deff worth the money.. pretty disappointing that ppl come here just to **** the ratings tho

    The graphics,mechanics and gameplay in general is fantastic,but the plot fails in many moments.

    The death of Joel was ridiculous,doesn't match his personality,a old survivor. **** Abby kills Joel with cruelty refinements and you try to make us accept her? Really? who gave this **** idea?
    I like ending of this game was really powerfull,Ellie shows his personality,she loves Joel and Joel loves her so much. "We must be better than this" summarizes this ending.

    But in the end,I felt a lot of things playing this game, a lot of good and some bad things, it moved me a lot. This is a good game, it’s not perfect like the first one, but it’s a good game.It was worth every second for me despite everything.

    The political position drains much of plot,man The Last Of Us universe is so great we don't need a pamphlet,we need a The Last Of Us game!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us Part 2 Is a visually beautiful game. The graphics are the best I have seen on PS4. The audio and sound effects are good. The musical score is decent. The game play is good. The writing is sub par. The acting is good. The story and organization of the way it was played out, ruined the game.

    Graphics: 10/10
    Audio/SE: 7/10
    Music: 5/10
    Game Play: 7/10
    Writing: 4/10
    Acting: 7/10
    Story: 3/10

    I will be reviewing the story of the game from here and it will contain MASSIVE SPOILERS. Naughty Dog did a few things in telling this story that were really good and I enjoyed:

    #1: They provided excellent motivation for Ellie to go on her rampage. The death of Joel was used very much like the death of Sarah. It was a traumatic event that drove story throughout the game.

    #2: The buildup was good. The search for the people responsible for Joel's death was satisfying. Seeing Ellie throw Nora into the nest of infected and the emotions that she went through before during and after beating her to death made the game feel gritty and showed the no turning back point that Ellie had come to.

    #3: The Flashbacks of Ellie and Joel were great. Seeing Ellie learn of and subsequently confront Joel about what happened at Saint Mary's provided a solid resolution to Part 1 without ruining its ending.

    Sadly, that is where my list of positives ends for The Last of Us Part 2 and my negatives begin:

    #1: In the chapter Seattle Day 3 (Infiltration) The Last of Us Part 2 had a chance to be a very good revenge story. Had this scene been done right it would have provided a climax to the revenge plot and began the conclusion of the story while setting up the chance to end a couple of the sub plots. Instead Abby kills Jessie then says a few meaningful words and aims the weapon at Ellie only to have the scene cut and take us back to day one where we now play the bad guy. Cutting this scene in half and sticking a 10 hour gap of playtime in the middle of it drains all of the energy from the first 10 hours of build up that the story just finished creating and then to top it all off I now have to play the villain and I am expected to empathize with her? At this point I switched the game to "very light" difficulty and sprinted through each encounter. I had no desire to play the character the game spent 10 hours convincing me to hate. This was one of the three breaking points of the story.

    #2: The 10 hours of Abby. I felt like I was grinding just to get back to the Fight between Ellie and Abby in the theater. There were things included in this section of the game that were unnecessary (the sex scene, love triangle, island invasion). The scenes weren't bad they just didn't really have a point.

    #3: The resolution of Ellie and Abby in the theater was terrible. Playing Abby in this scene felt bad. I get that it was trying to show that good guys and bad guys are a matter of perspective, but my perspective was from Ellie's side and Abby was the proverbial bad guy. The thing that bothered me most about this scene was when Abby had won the fight and was about to kill Dina then (almost) out of nowhere decided she wasn't going to then threatens Ellie and leaves. So Abby, a character that spent the last 4 years of her life trying to find Joel and traveled roughly a thousand miles to kill him, finds out that Ellie, Dina, Tommy and Jessie have systematically killed all of her closest friends in 3 days time, just decides not to kill her and let her live for a 2nd time (because it worked out so well for her the first time). This was story breaking point number two.

    #4: The last breaking part of the story was after it finally seemed over, it just kept going. Ellie and Dina back on the farm seemed like the game was ending until all of a sudden Tommy shows up and now all of a he is driven by revenge. Having his brother murdered and tortured while he was knocked out and helpless wasn't enough to fully drive him after Joel's killers by itself but now that he has been physically handicapped, he wants them to pay. This is the same character that was done with violence unless it was necessary to protect the people he loved in Part 1 and even in the beginning of Part 2. Then Ellie goes to Santa Barbara to kill Abby where she decides not to because she remembers Joel at the last second then lets Abby go. So, after chasing down the person that murdered her father figure and one of her best friends, she just decides all of a sudden that Joel's memory is better served by not killing Abby. So Ellie has now lost everything and didn't even get her revenge. The plot never has a pay off and leaves a bad taste in my mouth reminiscent of the ending to No Country for Old Men.

    Overall I give this game a 5. The flashbacks of Ellie and Joel were enough for me to be glad I played, but the ending and terrible character breaking decisions afterward make me wish I had stopped playing 12 hours in. Part 2 was a massive disappointment.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The story chose revenge. The character destroyed & demolished everything + everyone around her, lives, hope, love, friendships and heart before eventually coming to the end of the tunnel.

    Upon meeting the story's climatic finale it decides to do a flip and say "Nahh, it's ok you've enough murdered everyone but the person the story lays out before you, take a break now. You've murdered everyone else and the whole the reason why you're doing all of this is still destroying you on the inside but let's just let the reason behind my suffering go because its the right thing to do" Roll credits (but wait let's add more) Let's put in some scenes that create more sadness to make sure our audience knows how big of an impact this had on our protagonist before we roll the credits. Let's really make sure we land how much it hurts and we regret what happened but you know what, never put in closure. Zero, none, its not needed. (apparently) So now weve killed the main character of the series off, we've destroyed the spirit of the protagonist, gave her some nice things to cheer her up throughout, then demolish all of those lovely things around her to,o, before finally giving her the much needed, rewarding redemption to make it all worth while... Wait, Nope forget everything we've just done, let's change our entire story arc and path and let the stories entire motivation fizzle, we'll let her go free because that's a nice thing to do. Roll credits. The game felt like it ended several times, rushed, the game felt like it rushed an ending several times. There was so many directions you could have taken it. The message, if any, was buried repeatedly in your story Neill. It's as if you had a vision but changed your mind several times throughout without every going back to fix what you've already completed. "we'll just leave that in - then make it worse" If you want a good direction tip, have Joel live at the end. Put him in a coma, make him brain dead, jesus take both of his legs, 1 eye and some fingers but have him smiling in his bed after Ellie chooses redemption. It could've been as simple as Tommy kept it a secret all along, the grave was empty etc etc. This was not enjoyable. It had no reason behind it all, the only achievement behind this story was the tainting of the original stories plot + ending before finally making you hate whatever comes next, every step of the sequel. You tried but ultimately, you did it wrong    … Expand

    Jugabilidad muy buena pero repetitiva, el mapa es grande y te premia su buscas, pero al final de todo es un juego lineal.
    Pero lo que menos me gustó es que tomarnos el papel de ABY lo cual comprendo que es un giro de trama pero no es para que literal casi la mitad de juego la terminemos con ella y todo la historia no tiene un propósito claro
