    Ok let's get it out of the way, credit where credit is due. Graphics are incredible
    Environments and level design are top notch Animations are very well done Gameplay is okay, not the most fantastic thing I've ever played but it functions and does it's job

    However, I cannot rightfully recommend this game to anyone who enjoyed the first or was expecting a good story here. Some extremely poor decisions were made with regards to the direction this story goes in, well loved characters have been completely butchered (literally even) and all their personality has been ripped away. The new characters this game introduces are boring, bland and have absolutely none of the chemistry that Joel and Ellie shared in the first game. The script is poorly written and the protagonists seemingly make the most asinine decisions I've ever witnessed that are completely out of character. The plot has been reduced to a petty revenge story that has absolutely none of the gravitas or emotional weight that the first one carried

    The pacing is all over the place and made the game a slog to complete. To conclude; please do not buy this game if you have any love for The Last of Us as a franchise, I personally feel utterly betrayed and insulted by what it has turned into and I doubt I'm the only one with this opinion, this is is certainly the last Naughty Dog game I will ever play    … Expand

    I didn’t mind playing as Abby at the start to get us into story however I think they should should have made the part further into the game as a dlc like left behind. I still enjoyed what it added to the world and the story wasn’t sure if it was really needed i heard the LGBTQ’s repression that was added was unneeded however it never bothered me and I usually does. Overall I really loved the game and I suggest that people get it and ignore the negative reviews and make your own mind up    … Expand

    Those who don't like the story are just people waiting to be pleased and comforted. It's not nice, just like the real life. It highlights perfectly that every story has its own background. It's harsh and unforgiving, but it makes you feel, which is a rare gem these days. It's the absolute best interactive art that I've ever got my hands on.     DO NOT buy this game. If I had known how bad it was compared to the first one going in I wouldn't have even looked twice at it. Completely ruins the game and ruins the memories I had playing the first game. DO NOT BUY IT, I WISH I HADN'T. I didnt even ****ing finish it it's so disgustingly bad, what a disgrace of a game.

They made Joel go out so easy but that’s wrong he would have at least took out a couple on his way out. Also not to mention they didn’t even put effort into his death mean look at Tommy he’s leaning up against a dresser looking in Abby’s direction and didn’t notice she grabbed the shotgun!?!? They just ruined one of the greatest games of all time. Plus it’s so based around the LGBT community. Okay okay Ellie is lesbian you don’t have to remind us every 30 seconds. The entire game was based on revenge for our loved character Joel and we didn’t even get to avenge his wrongful death. My suggestion to them would be to make a DLC telling a different story where Joel doesn’t die. That’s the only thing that can save them now.… Expand

The only 2 positives things about this game are graphics and gunplay. But did we all love TLoU 1 because of these things? - No. We loved it because of it's story and characters. And both of these thing in TLoU 2 are absolute awful from many points. What an absolute amazing way to write your story by killing the face of the series at the very start of the game, the main reason why we love TloU. And not only that, but he was killed like a side character, like everything we've been through with this character meant nothing. What a waste of potential, what an act of disrespect towards your fan base. Not to mention, that Naughty Dogs literally scammed me and other players. They replaced Joel in some parts of the game(where he is supposed to be based on the promotion trailer) by a random guy, called "Jessie", for example. Yeah, how can you make a promotion trailer without Joel, right? And I find it quite simbolic and funny, that the guy, who spat on the Joel's corpse looks exactly like Neil Druckmann. This man literally spat on such great character, which Joel is and on us, fans of this game. That's exactly like I felt. But it wasn't the end of the suffering. How retarded must you be to force your players to play half of this **** game a character, who killed the character we all loved? To force us, players, to attack Ellie? Did you really think it would be fun or any interesting? Are you **** dumb? What an amazing game design decision. Applause. But the most retarded thing is, that people who don't like the game are branded as homophobes or just immoral human beings. You are the one forcing this LGBT values on to me and you are calling me immoral? Obviosly, to show lesbian sex was much more important than to write a decent story and to kill the face of the story the way he deserved. And the ending of the game... Mmm... on the boundary of fantastic. Do I reccomend this game? - Absolutely no, especially, if you are the fan of the original game.… Expand

    I always wanted the sequel to show the world of the game from a new perspective and on behalf of another character. I like Joel and Ellie, but I wanted a new story and I got it. Emotions in the finals went wild. Thanks 10/10    … Expand

    The game is 25/30 hours long and you are bombing it after few hours from its release?
    Reviewing it without buying is the saddest thing a person can do.
    The game is really good, and you are not gonna manage to stop the sales, it will reach another 10 million copies sold like the first one did.

    we got tricked with trailers and gameplay videos.I paid for this game for fifty and joel.Playing with abby made me finish off.frustration.I would not recommend you pre-order this producer games.they had to be honest in trailer and gameplay.technical, gameplay, graphics are very good.I broke 2 points because I don't like the story I broke 4 points because the job was not as described.

    I personally had a blast playing through this game. It is a much darker and grittier game than the first one. First of all, the graphics and the environments. Wow, just wow. From a technical point of view this game is a marvel. The attention to detail is phenomenal. I was really impressed by city skylines and distant vistas, character movement and the density of the vegetation.

    Second, gameplay-wise it has gotten a lot better. Ellie is extremely agile, and she can now jump, dodge and prone. It makes combat a lot easier. Enemy AI is also a lot better. Enemies work together and make personalized callouts to which you can adapt your own strategy. It's truly impressive.

    And then there is the story. Well, to be quite honest, I just decided to roll with it, and for me it kinda worked. I believe it was actually a pretty decent story. It's just that I didn't quite understand Ellie's careless attitude throughout her journey. Then there's the other point of view in which we play as a new character. At first I hated this new character because of her actions early in the game, but in the end I felt sorry for her. I actually believed her and think that some of her friends didn't deserve what happened to them. Overall it has some really great moments.

    If there's one major critism I have to offer, it would be the pacing. There is a lot, and I do mean a lot, of detouring going on just to prolong the game but in the end the means is the same. Ellie is almost at the hospital.... nope, she slips into the sewer. The new character is on the skybridge, nope, she falls off and now we need to fight through an infected building. These situations happen a bit too often. I think a shorter and more rounded 16-18 hour game would've been better than the 25 hours full of sidetracking. Other than that. This is a solid game and the devs should be proud. Best game ever? No, but definitely not as bad as some people claim it to be. I give it 8/10.    … Expand

Get over it... the game play is tight,similar to the last one. The graphics hands down the best I've seen so far on ps4 right up there with Herizon Zero Dawn. The storyline is very intriguing and theIm not going to give anything away spoiler wise. I just wanted to say my son got me this game for Father's Day since I loved the first game. It completly betrays the fundamentals that made the first one so loved. Joel deserved better and then the fact you are being forced to play as his killer is horrible. This sees you forced play with characters you dont care about and honestly it was a chore to finish it. The best parts where ellies flashback gave us a glimpse of the game we wanted but no got this mess. A generic revenge story with out the revenge… Expand

After an amazing first part of The last of us 2 that mainly talked about the relationship between Ellie and Joel between father and daughter that is the main thing we liked about Tlou .We liked the story, game-play, dailogue between the charactars, emotions etc....
    But if you told me that Tlou2 will be excluded from all of that i would have not believed you but after i played the game .i saw how poor the story is. Joel being killed a painful death shows how the devolpers really does not care about the main charactars and putting some agenda like Ellie being a lesbian and making the game in the hands of woman that does not make any sense at least make a balance between men and woman in the game not because feminism and this things that bring views and easy money you run after them! unfortunatly naughty dog ran for the fashion ,naughty dog ran for the thing that brings money and joel being killed is not the problem the way he dies is the problem the way the does not make any sense also the game unlike the first part. tlou2 talks about revenge .A renenge for a main charactar being killed by abby i know how the game wants us to hate abby for what it did to joel but not like that not with a story that does not make sense but the gameplay is very good the way Ellie can squeeze through tiny place makes the game fast and amazing in terms of the gameplay . you can choose your approach stealth using your bow or suppressor guns or variety of guns where you can upgrade or exploring new places where you can find things that may help you throughout the game and where you can control every thing in the game from the colors of subtitles and health of the opponent and and where zombies can listen to you etc... in the end i can only say that this game is very very very disappointing and I am real sad about what they did to the game    … Expand

    So before anything i'm telling you all right of the bet that i'm really pissed off about this.
    The last of us ll, One of the most if not the most anticipated gaming sequel of this year, it takes apart a few years after the original one (The last of us l) from 2013, where we see Joel and Ellie take of together the unknown.
    Now you might be wondering why the 3/10 score if this was such an anticipated sequel, well let me tell you why, in order to give a 10/10 review like most of the so called professional reviewers out there a game/book/movie/series needs to have certain characteristics that sets it apart from the others.
    Most of the reviewers gave this game a 10/10 review which is already weird because normally there is always some negative and some neutral reviews and if you played the game you will get to the same conclusion that many of us have because this is not sequel material. They presented us with a game shouldn't even have been release but why?
    Well the graphics are amazing and that's truth and i wasn't expecting anything less from naughty dog and that is the only reason that im not giving the review a 0/10 and a 3/10. Why a 3/10?| you may ask be asking... well because the graphics of the game should never be the reason why a game as a 5/10 or even a 10/10 review which normally is the reason that people who play games casually gives it to them. So now the real reason why i don't give anymore credit to the game, well for starters this game is a sequel and sequels normally tend to follow a path set by the first one, and what i'm trying to say is that this game has nothing to do with The last of us l in terms of story development and character development. Naughty dog literally takes a piss on what fans loved about the characters and what the characters were and completely remakes their whole way of thinking and acting, Joel is not actually the Joel we met that was bitter towards strangers (i guess 5 or 6 years really change someone's perspective of the whole world even in an apocalypse), Ellie goes on a killing spree out of revenge for Joel's death (which is the whole point of the game, getting a revenge...) just so that in the end she doesn't even get's her revenge after killing maybe hundreds of people because and let me emphasize this BECAUSE killing is not a solution (well Ellie the why the killing spree what did the other ones did to you to deserve it?). That's the biggest problem with this game, this history ... a revenge history isn't something that marks the players it just isn't something that you enjoyed watching and playing it doesn't stick to your memory because it's just a normal story just like the other, there is literally nothing different from this history and the one from some indie game with a overall rating of 3 or 4 a game with a rating of 10 needs a compelling history that will stay with you for years, this might be a game, but just like movies and series you can have pieces of it with you for the rest of your life they can be lessons or experiences that sometimes might even change you. So now that the biggest problem with this game is addressed i'm going to speak about the secondary problems with it.
    The gameplay itself, we were promised a revolutionary gameplay but what we really got was empty promisses, the gameplay it's almost the same as in The Last Of Us l, now don't get me wrong they did changed it, they added dogs! i mean what's there to not love about it?
    We all loved the way the game was meant to be played in 2013 but where is the improvement? you still craft items in the same way as you did before so no improvement there, the looting system is the exact same one so nothing new there either they may have add some new animations to the fight's but in overall despite the change in graphics the gameplay stayed pretty similar the on in The last of Us l.
    So in conclusion i'm giving this game a 3/10 score    … Expand

    This game is a very vivid interpretation of this point. No matter how good the graphic is, with such a PC and stupid story, this game can only be turned into a piece of sh1t.

Instead they have given us a token, a throw-away that should have been an npc-companion you would learn to appreciate during a long struggle to survive, not the main character of a franchise that was supposed to have a long future. Honestly gives Fallout 76 a good look maybe in the future like no man sky say 10 years or so it will be redone to it's actual potential.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. How do I feel after playing through The Last of Us Part II? Exhausted, after an emotional roller coaster that immerses you into the world of two very different but also similar protagonists. This is my first meteoritic review and I feel obligated to share my opinion as there is a lot of conflicting information flying around so I hope this helps. First let us address gameplay and graphics as we can get through this very quickly. Stunning, the landscapes and weather help pull you into to this dystopian yet still very beautiful world. As far as gameplay and combat goes, it is leagues above that of the first game and feels extremely well polished. The talent trees and weapon upgrades feel good for the most part, giving you the freedom to choose your playstyle and increase the characters strengths to achieve this. The variety of weapons was also a pleasant surprise. The level of detail is second to none and Naughty Dog should be praised for delivering such an experience.
    Now...the story. I went into this game completely hidden from leaks, spoilers and even trailers. I am a die hard fan of the first game, the characters we grew to love along the way and I can understand people's sadness and anger of losing such a great and loved character mere hours after the start. I have to say that I liked the story a lot, warts and all, let me explain why. I think people forget the world we live in as a character in the Last of Us. This post apocalyptic world has brought out the worst in people (and sometimes the best). Adventuring throughout the world offers extreme danger, yes from the infected but more importantly from the living. Survival has driven people to extremes of depravity and this is only magnified by the lack of any justice in the world. To that end, although it's hard to watch Joel's death, I feel it certainly is not a surprise and although hard to admit, justified after Joel's actions at the end of the first game. I shared Ellie's pain and anger at seeing her father figure die before her and by the end of the game I feel this even more knowing the turbulent times they faced in the years after Salt Lake. I fully understand Abby's motivations, especially as they are so aligned with Ellie's but I wanted revenge, and thus I set out with Ellie to exact this revenge, fully committed to seeing Abby and her friends last breaths. I was very taken aback when suddenly I was following the story from Abby's side. It felt quite jarring as I had worked for hours to find and hurt this person, to now be transported into her body and learn about her, her personality and her past. I certainly was uncomfortable about this switch when it happened but I won't say it is a failure of the game, quite the opposite. I play naughty dog games for the story and this form of narrative, showing a story from both sides, showing that situations are never black and white was a very powerful plot vehicle that certainly toyed with my emotions. I went into this part of the game not liking this character at all but finished the game understanding her a lot more, maybe not liking her as I do other characters but understanding that one painful experience such as the brutal murder of her father completely shaped her life moving forward. Both characters experience a rich world with lots of meaty story and interesting characters. For the most part I liked Yara and Lev and I thought they both helped bring out a side of Abby that she was suppressing while she focused on revenge. The character feels lost after killing Joel, I think focusing on this goal for many years and assuming life will instantly be better after his death is a mistake, one which Ellie also battles with. You discover there are many likeable characters amongst her friends, Owen especially. You get the impression he never really fit in with the WLFs and this had a positive influence on Abby's character. I think we need to talk about fan service. I can use Star Wars as a great example. I liked the latest films but they certainly stop well short of greatness for me and fan service is a big part of that. Creating a story to only appease fans instead of telling a hard, powerful and unforgiving story that is true to the world. I love Joel's character but I too wrestle with his actions at the end of The Last of Us. A choice between saving the world and essentially saving your daughter, how many of us would choose the world? Unfortunately this choice completely shattered lives and I praise Naughty Dog for showing the true ramifications of this decision. Elli's ultimate act of clemency for Abby feels right, both characters are emotionally and physically irreparably damaged and this revenge circle needs to stop.     The graphics, world and gameplay were absolutely great. I remember playing TLOU1 for like third time just to watch the sights and postapocalyptic world. This time it's no different. The graphic artists did their magic and it's state-of-an-art.

    So now I can drop the bomb.

    The Last od Us is a story-driven game. There are no choices. There are no decisions to be made - and that's ok, as long as the story is good. This time - the writing was so bad that it did butcher the legacy of the first the Last of Us. Uterly-butchered-the-legacy. And they said that ideas cannot die.

    I won't be posting any spoilers not to spoil the fun(because You can still have some fun playing this game) for some people but the story is rubbish.

    Important moments being marginalized, some retrospectives, main characters we used to bond with senselessly slaughtered - without any backstory and understanding to it - and main antagonist being invisible till the very end. The story development is more like roaming the pseudoopenworld and... exploring. Because that's what drove me in that game. Exploring. Not story. There are no society issues pictured like in the first part. Nothing really shocking (yeah, they removed most of the brutality of the postapocalytptic world from the game), trailers were lies and... the story is just one huge plothole being kept with some very thin strings.

    Sorry Naughty Dog. I'm disappointed to an extent I can't even describe.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game is linear, with some maze like corridors, with cinematic “cutscenes” and some fights between that. Map structure is very basic: you get a corridor that leads to a maze that leads either to an empty room or a combat room. Object placement is retarded if there are combat elements. Monsters will spawn at predefined locations and attack you or the humans that are chasing you. And the rooms have no actual other entrances then you came and leave from. AI is invincible and has unlimited ammo. They are also doing much more damage and can shoot a lot faster. So if you’re in a fight you can literally wait for you companions to rush the enemy. Zombies are way too easy, some of them have more HP and another design, that’s it.
    Story is 40% Cut Scenes, 30% Maze, 20% Combat and 10% other stuff. Without spoiling too much, the story is very bad. They are living in a homosexual friendly utopian village, playing guitar, dancing, hearing loud music. All that in a post-apocalyptic world. They don’t care about zombies, only about anyone that hates homosexual individuals. You are fighting a religious cult about 80% of the actual gameplay game. 5-10% is mini games like playing a guitar in a cut scene. No real post-apocalyptic feeling. By the way, most of the story was written or at least suggested by a “strong-woman” social fighter.    … Expand

    The first half lacks the push the first game had, plot armor saves a character multiple times with the sole purpose of pushing forward a stupid plan, and the second forces you into 2 long side quests while relegating the main theme of the game to the side, all to justify the existence of these new characters. I get it, different sides have different goals, but I don't care about these people. I can't. And these quests drag on for so long.

    If you're a die hard The Last Of Us fan for the story, this game MIGHT be rude awakening. I say might because there's a chance you will appreciate the symbolism behind this narrative. I didn't.

There were some mediocre things gameplay wise but overall as a sotry driven game it was one of the best at the time and i think its still holds up very well. Why did I mention all of this? Well i think for a triple A titlle, for such a household name as naughty dog this game is a disgrace and here is why. Keep in mind this game was in development for 7 years. Lets start with gameplay. Obviously its better than the first tlou but we have to expect this with such a long time of development but still the game is too repetetive in the end you are doing basiclly the same thing over and over. There's no variety. Weapons are pretty much the same as in the first game. Game mechanics were expanded a bit but it just feels like the reeskin of the first game. Obviusly the graphics are great there sonthing bad i can say about that. Lastly the story. This story is just inexplicable. This story is just based around the fact that Abby was super lucky and dumb at the same time and somehow found Joel and then him and Tommy just had a stroke or something and forgot what world they live in and went to a camp of total strangers and acted irrationaly. There is NO single explenation for this other than that it's a bad story writing. Story is not in order which on its own it wouldnt be so bad but they did such a bad job with it is just unbelivable however approved it is a profesionall. This is a problem because they want to paint Abby as Elliev2 nut it just doesnt work because they firstlly killed of Joel in stupid way and then when we were in the END decided to let you play her?!!?? XDDD. Lastly there is a lot of manipulation i cant pass indifferently. Abby plays with dogs/Ellie kills them, Abby rescues children/Ellie kills pregnant woman. In conclusion as for triple a title for Naughty Dog and for a second instalment to this story this game is trash simply because it was made lazy.… Expand

For me anyway it was the banter between Joe and Eli and it just being a awesome story with amazing characters. The first game has such heart and made it feel truly special. There’s a little of this at times in the last of us part 2 like the flash back at the museum. Otherwise all the TLOUP2 is, is a revenge story. A revenge story with a lot of far left propaganda shoehorned in which is not my idea of a good time. I could care less if someone is gay, LGBTQ or whatever to each their own. Most people could care less who someone screw all that matters is if you are a good person but when politics be it far left or far right are shoehorned into a game they will only destroy half of your Fanbase if you push them as hard as this game does.     This game is a massive kick on the balls to it's predecessor, not only the story is **** bad written and boring, but the entire set feels forced with SJW propaganda worthy of an LGTB parade, this is supposed to be a serious game with actual impact on characters but it doesn't even let you kill the main antagonist, truly a disgrace to the first game.

    The last of us is the most beautiful game I played, its mechanics are something higher, though the stealth did not evolve from 1 part, the infected ones became more scary and frightening. The plot did not disappoint, I advise everyone to this game.

    During playing this game, feeling very sad. Likely every fathers are dead. After Ellie killed the dogs, Abby can play with the dog in the next chapter. After that, I”m already no mood to play this game. Kill the dogs kill the pregnant. What a game......

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
