    I was looking forward for the second part since the moment I played TloU 1 the first time. I absolutely loved that game! When I heared they are working on the second I was sure they will deliver a worthy sequel...boy was I wrong. What did they do in the planning phase? Did they discuss how they can mess up the game and the fan base as much as possible? The music is nice as well ut the story is absolutely horrible. Which was the stron part of the first game is the biggest weakness of the second part. Not just the story as it is is bad, but also the way it is presented is just bad. What comes on top of it that there are no loveable characters at all. Also one of the strong party of the first game. The second part only has boring, one dimensional depressed characters that you just dont care about at all.

    And the cherry on the cake is this massive "plot twist" where Naughty Dog forces you into playing the antagonist killed your most beloved character. ND wants you to care about the view of the antagonist but dude, thats not gonna work! She just killed "my dad" for F sake. I just want to kill her ad not play with her. It like they would have tried to make a loveale character out of Joffrey in Game of Thrones and put the focus on him after all the bad stuff he has done. It just wont work.

    I really dont know what Naughty Dog was thinking here. And also I really dont get the high rating from the magazines. 95% really??? I absolutely lost my trust in many magazines from this. For me the biggest dissapointent of 2020...and that says a lot!    … Expand

    Everything about this franchise is amazing and TLOU2 is a notch above the previous one. All thanks to Neil druckman and his team at naughty dog.

    No vale $60 ni en sueños, preferible con ese dinero ayudar a alguien necesitado y la gratificación sera 100 veces mayor que al terminar este juego.
    Recomiendo este juego? Pues claro, solo para regalárselo a alguien que odies.

    I got a early copy and played the hell out of this game. Honestly this game is pretty great and I was a mega fan of the first game and played it over hundreds of times. Alot of people thing the first one is the masterpiece of story telling but it really isn't its just delivered well. The story is about the consequences of vengeance and how anger affects people. It's a fun game, really brutal and dark story, but it's really great. I think people just need to grow up. The story is fine its good. People saying you need to play as Abby as a child with like 10 hours of back story obviously never played the first last of us because they didn't do that with Joel and his story came across well with his actions.     The story: horrible. Tragically bad writing, lots of plot holes, characters out of character, the story throws tons of guilt for the player to carry, and there is a suffocating feeling of futility by the end of the game.     solid game, a lot of fun, most of these "reviews" however need to be deleted and future 'reviews' made by angry neck beard man-children over being forced to deal with the fact lgbt folks exist even in video games need to be banned from posting since they have shown that they are incapable of being mature and are just review bombing this game.

    Yes. That game has a lesbians. BUT! No one trying to understand - it soundly by the first part and not interfering feelings from the second part. There's no LGBT only for LGBT. And I'm really sorry that so little and slightly thing can force people drop the rates of wonderful game. (((

Gameplay hasn`t changed from the first game. Did they expect us to play the same gameplay for 25 hours? it gets really boring.     Characters make this game, it always has. Joel’s grumpy, yet wise character contrasted really well with Ellie’s wide-eyed childlike wonder. Given that Joel perished in the first 30 minutes of playing, he is replaced by a plethora of new companions to Ellie, and new characters in alt-stories. Abby, Dina, Tommy, Jesse, etc. While they are all fun in their own way, they don’t have a good enough personality in contrast to Ellie, to carry a meaningful relationship to the player. They are all just bland, and derivative of many other characters in other games. Despite this major problem, The Last of Us Part II is fun, with a multitude of environments and a emphasis on exploration. But still a linear story to keep control of the player. It is also incredibly well designed. With all-new mechanics, collectibles and enemies to gawk at, just as I did. You may just be in for the story, or the collectibles, or even just trying this out. You will find this game offers many hours of fun for you all.    … Expand

    On the other hand, we have the story and the characters, which have less personality than a golf club.

Why give the game a 1 out of 10, while the game is great! It looks stunning, combat is great and responsive, I love the way you get extra skills and unlock more branches as you go by finding books and exploring the map is just plain fun. The only thing I dislike is your follower standing in the way sometimes. I think I’ve played around 6 hours now. 90% of reviews were made without even playing the game. People are just too stupid to get their own opinion about it, so they board the easy hype train and write a negative review without playing it at all. Well, play it yourself to find out if you like it or not. Don’t just negatively review something you haven’t even laid your hands on yet!… Expand

    9/10 on story. There are people hating on this aspect because there are moments that are heartbreaking. That is not a bad thing. AT ALL. It brings you to the realization of how cruel this world is and it feels REAL. Things like that are needed in a game like this. The story progresses and flows beautifully as you go through the game. The characters are extremely well made and you really care for them. So many character interactions gave me goosebumps! then why isn't it a 10/10??? there is a large section in the story where it feels very forced and I did not want to play it for a second longer, yet it went on for hours. No one ever will be happy playing that part..

    12/10 visuals. Wow.

    11/10 gameplay. Gameplay is still amazing! Few games ever created are this satisfying to play. best part of the game by far.

    PLEASE acknowledge the amount of hard work and love clearly put into this game. Ignore the "agendas" because they are not there.     Awesome game with many great moments, fluid gameplay, a Joy . To many reviews on here bombing it due to them not liking the story. Very undeserved, this is a great game.
    And some parts may upset people but that's life, there are no guarantees. People should be made to prove ownerships of games before being allowed to post reviews

I have never in my 29 years on this planet, had the experience like the one I had playing this masterpiece. It was an experience that will stay with me forever.     The game is great. I'm not a reviewer but wanted to offer my 10 cents into whatever is happening here. The story is bleak, often very harrowing and sometimes hard to go through. I have been loving the small element of exploration too.

    When Joel died I can't say I was expecting it (as naive as I am) to happen so soon. It sets up a great story and playing as Abby too made it more difficult for me to side with anyone. It didn't take me long to realise that there are no real heroes or villains in the game, just life and death. I highly recommend playing this before reading anything that deliberate trollers have to say,. Yeah the game might not be for everyone but there is not a game in the world that deserves the lowest score.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First off: I managed to go into the game completely without spoilers. I was genuinely excited to play tlou2 but it just continued to break my heart.
    The two points are for the phenomenal graphics and the (voice-)acting. You can really tell that they tried to use every bit of power the ps4 can muster up. I also loved the wlw relationship and the way Ellie's relationship was portrayed, it seemed organic, as well as the reaction of others.

    The main story on the other hand...I went in with the expectation, probably like many others, that Ellie and Joel will go on the road together again to right some wrongs (because of THAT trailer). The fact that they decided to him kill off in the prologue in such a gruesome and disrespectful way made me stop wanting to continue. I probably would've but I paid full price and didn't want to waste my money.
    Without a trigger warning or anything ahead, that (quite long) torture scene managed to throw me into a panic attack ( I can play horror games and similar just fine and I also had no problems with the first game). You can argue that the first game started with a horrible death as well and that it's to further emphasize with Ellie but thats not comparable.
    The usually very cautious Joel being so trusting with a stranger leading him and his brother to a group they don't know about felt absolutely out of character. The decision to make the player play as Abby after that murder was and still is unfathomable to me. All her motivations and reasons are tainted and seem irrelevant after watching her brutally kill Joel.
    It seems to me like lazy writing to get Ellie on a revenge spree without a satisfying conclusion; just a kumbayah lesson to learn. I probably spent around half an hour to get Abby killed as much as possible (again, quite unsatisfying)

    There are many other issues within the plot that I can't and won't go into detail. Those who still want to go ahead and play it should do so, I'm sure there are enough people that enjoy multiple hours of content that provides a unique combination of emotional abuse and boredom. It has no additional value to the first game and can be ignored. There are some sweet and funny moments, but to me they were mostly overshadowed by the bad ones. All in all: I regret buying this game and it's a shame I can't return it.    … Expand

    The game makes you mad when Joel dies and it is how they want you to be when you play the rest of the game: "MAD". Yes it sucks that you can't play him and a lot of the frustrations comes from the fact that there is no revenge. Ellie realises when fighting her that she doesn't feel better hurting her so she let her go... That sucks but that's how she feels and killing Abby would only make you more happy but probably not Ellie.    … Expand

    The game is incredible and it will certainly be the game of the year, incredible graphics, awesome soundtrack and every minute played you are more anxious about what will happen to the characters but all this is lost by some ignorant "fans" who prefer to take to the personal side based on your political beliefs instead of analyzing the game with a critical eye when it comes to the game!

    This game is a monument to how to ruin a potentially legendary franchise. The first game was a pinnacle of story-telling and character development. The second game manages to undo all of the hard work of the first game, betray fans with effectively a bait-and-switch and flies headlong into the cement below the heights of the original with it's abject failure in so many areas.     The only thing this game needed was a solid story. But when the story fails this game means close to nothing. The gameplay alone does not justify the existence of a 2nd part of one of the greatest games ever made. Because it is at most average.
    The greatest impudence is how they deal with certain characters. It really gets me angry.

    Since I did not watch any leaks, I obviously didn't know what to expect. The game feels the same way you would expect a The Last Of Us game to feel. The soundtrack is great and gives the perfect atmosphere. On the highest difficulty the game can be challenging at some points, but it could be harder for my liking. Also, I actually liked the story. But this game is amazing and yeah there's nothing new really it's extremely smart in its story telling... Soo far anyway I will stop at nothing to catch Joel's killers but I'm still near the beginning so I'll update my review at the end of the game.… Expand

I Was fully invested in the characters and the world they built in the original. I never judge a game or movie based on the opinions of others. I enjoy many games that all my friends hated.     The Last of Us is one of my absolute favourite games and this continuation is just as beautiful and emotional as the first game. Such stunning scenery, beautiful characters and amazing voice acting. Well worth the wait.
