    Doing my part to combat this idiotic review bombing. This game is a Saint in the world of gaming. I have put in 5 or so hours thus far and it has me gripped. The combat is intense and you feel yourself count every bullet you are forced to shoot. This is the first game since TLOU 1 that has created such an environment of primal fear for your character. If you haven’t purchased the game, andDoing my part to combat this idiotic review bombing. This game is a Saint in the world of gaming. I have put in 5 or so hours thus far and it has me gripped. If you haven’t purchased the game, and are giving it a 0 for no reason, shame on you. If you purchased the game and are giving it a low rating for god knows why, please, go back to Warzone and stop shaming the developers for creating quality content. I can't begin to understand how anyone would expect a 100% change in game mechanics after ND created such a masterpiece first time around. I also fail to see how this game is too "PC" or bends the knee to any aspect of today's society just because it takes on the perspective of someone other than the characters that have been repeated over and over again in every other title. Yes, everyone who has reviewed this game poorly is either trolling, 12 years old and addicted to seeing "Victory!" every 30 minutes, or is a moron. This game is stunning and will win Game of the Year. If it doesn’t then the gaming community will certainly enter a dark age. Congratulation, Naughty Dog, on yet another homerun. Please continue to create such work.

    I really hate to see people who have yet to play the game rate it over a leak. I am half way through the game and believe this game is just as good or better than the original. Naughty dog worked hard on this game and it shows. Please buy the game and experience it.

    In a nutshell, the ordinary joe might get confused while reading the score. One side says it’s a masterpiece, on side says it’s downright terrible. So let me explain: the original last of us was praised not for it’s mechanics and gameplay, but for it’s storytelling and world building. It kinda lacked in other features, but the story and lore behind it were enough to make itself anIn a nutshell, the ordinary joe might get confused while reading the score. So let me explain: the original last of us was praised not for it’s mechanics and gameplay, but for it’s storytelling and world building. It kinda lacked in other features, but the story and lore behind it were enough to make itself an masterpiece. The last us of 2 is different. The devs were quite obviously pushing politics, so even if you wanted to ‘ignore’ some aspects and enjoy the game overall, you had to notice it. The story, well, was kind of the problem. There is no context or relevance in the story whatsoever. The characters are acting if they weren’t in the first last of us, and even the new characters we’re introduced to don’t really give us the love Joel and Ellie gave us in the first game. However, it did have some minor upgrades in gameplay (except the useless jumping mechanic) so that’s a pro. Politics is a touchy subject, so i’ll leave it up to you. This is (I think) the best way to sum it up. If you enjoyed star wars: the last Jedi, or game of thrones season 8, I think you’ll have a chance to enjoy the story, even if politics were involved.… Expand

El videojuego como tal es muy bueno, graficos excelentes, animaciones de 10, detalles soberbios y por estar pulido sin bugs todo bien hasta ahi pero no llega al 10 por los malos momentos de la historia por el relleno innecesario de gameplay con Abby y por tocar temas como la homosexualidad de Ellie y escenas de sexo que no eran necesarias, por matar a Joel de una manera ridícula, tonta y cruel, por mostrar a Joel como personaje jugable cuando en realidad no se se juega con El, por querer que empatize con Abby durante 10 horas a mas y no lograrlo y por el final que es un despropósito a las 30 horas de juego.
    Si no te intereza la historia seguramente tendrás un juego de 10 pero como estos juegos la historia pesa y mucho se a ganado el odio de la comunidad.    … Expand

I’m glad naughty dog wanted to try something different with the perspective of characters and it really developed the post apocalyptic very well through doing this; however, in some parts it went way too far. I didn’t mind playing as abby for the most part. As for joel dying, It was pretty sad how it happened so easily for him and it was pretty much fate. As the story unfolded, however, it was pretty clear that he deserved to die, at least Abby had good motivation to do so. Joel’s death really motivated me as well, to go kill every single person involved. I was so angry and furious and heartbroken, that when i played as Ellie seeking revenge i truly wanted to kill all of them, i didnt even care, i thought well, i don’t mind joel dying as long as i can kill every last one of them, to me his death would be worth it. Then we got to play as abby. Of course i disliked abby, but it was nice to see into the life of another community and see that they are very human. I think they could have made abby so much more likable though, she wasn’t even liked by her friends that much and i don’t know, i feel like if you make someone kill joel then make us play that character you better make that character even more likeable than ellie, and they kind of failed at that for me at least. Despite that, playing as abby was interesting and made me feel at least a little empathy for her, yet i still hoped for revenge against her which is why i didn’t mind playing as her. This was until my least favorite part of the game came...they made us play as abby, and beat the **** out of ellie. Honestly it was the worst part of the game for me and if this wasn’t in it i would have loved the game so much more. It upset me that the character i wanted revenge against the most beat up the character that was so beloved by me and the character i was rooting for throughout the game, and i had to do it. It was
    honestly so messed up to me. After that, i felt sick to my stomach and just wanted to stop playing. How does naughty dog expect us to like that part of the game? Why do they think our interests to beat up ellie would aline with abby’s when you showed her brutally kill joel? I was so disappointed and i just wanted to stop, but i continued. Honestly i just wanted to be over with it, but of course we got sent back to try and find abby, I’m not sure if i cared anymore, at this point i disliked the writers more than abby for making me do that to ellie. Then we finally find abby and we beat her but we decide not to kill her. I didn’t hate the ending but i can’t say i understood why ellie
    chose that...i think she realized joel really was a ****ty person and possibly took away the vaccine from man kind (based on the flash back that happened at the end) but she loved him too, and the reason she was even living was because of him and she knew that. I don’t know, honestly i wish we killed abby, but we both have gone through so much **** i don’t know if i even cared anymore.    … Expand

It was a rollercoaster of emotions. There are flaws and and when I say flaws they really suck like character textures popping, backgrounds sudden shift and the game is also locked on 30fps that is just sad for this console generation. But honestly it is a must play. Don't hate on the game because of the loss of a beloved character but let the game grow on you.… Expand

THIS IS A 2/10 NOT A **** 6 From someone who believes The Last Of Us part 1 Is one of the greatest games of all time (trust me it’s with Batman Arkham City for me) I was super pumped for this game. But upon playing it with no spoilers going into it I was super disappointed with this product. Graphics were fantastic but We all expected it to be. The story however is awful, truly awful. So many plot holes and dumb choices. And no people I haven’t got a problem with there being trans and gay people leading the game or a woman leading it. Ellie is an amazing character or should I say was an amazing character but man how can you do my man Joel so dirty like this. It’s not even the fact he died cause I expected that but the way you guys done it was just awful. Here’s an idea, why couldn’t he go out in a similar fashion to Arthur Morgan from RDR2?? Also **** abbey, honestly the very worst character I’ve ever seen and as for the cringe sex scene.....Jesus we get it and again this isn’t a problem with her being trans. I don’t want to play a game and there be a “raw” sex scene in it even if it is male on female. I just wanna play and enjoy my game I paid £60 for.     I went into this game expecting to cry... and I did more than once. I see all of these bad reviews for the story and I don't know if that is because of the big twist at the beginning of the game or, a genuine dissatisfaction for the game.

    De lo mejor de esta generación de consolas.
    Naughty Dog una vez más vuelve a sorprenderme con un fantástico título. Ya nos habían dicho que esta sería una entrega que no a todos les agradaría, pero a mí me está encantando. Gráficamente el juego se ve espectacular, su jugabilidad está muy bien lograda y la historia está a la par o por encima de el primer juego.

    Excelente juego, madre mía es un juegazo pero como todos tiene sus detalles. Maneja el HUD de 2013 del primero y varios sistemas reciclados pero tiene lógica ya que es la secuela.

    The writing in this is terrible. Terrible story choices. Plot holes galore. No one is giving bad reviews because of LGBT+ elements of the story. Absolutely terrible story. The only reason it is getting a 4 is the gameplay itself isn’t shabby and the graphics are beautiful.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Gameplay and graphics are really good. The story isn't bad, if the leaks weren't out before release there wouldn't be much critic to the game. Of course, there are reviews 2 hours after release that say the game is terrible, even though they havent played it. After Joel's death, it left me in a limbo feeling. Exploring Seattle was basically an introduction to Dina and Ellie and their relationship. The roles are similar to the first game, where Joel used to tell Ellie stories and Ellie use jokes to lighten the mood, it's now Dina doing that for Ellie and Ellie is giving some background about Joels and Tommys history. In my opinion, Joel's death should have been delayed to a midpoint in the game and not in the beginning, which I believe is why most people are upset about. For they don't want to play as Ellie. Rolling back to what I said about the leaks, it's as if this is happening all over again like it did with game of thrones. The game of thrones situation is a bit different, game of thrones' story continued on without a blueprint, but this game is made by the original story teller. I don't think there would be much of a circlejerk about hating this game if the big scenes in the game was experiencd by people playing it, like a twitch streamer or youtubber. I know I'm gonna receive critic from people I know that hate this game for no reason, but I liked it. I mean what are they to say they do not play solo games anyway. I do hope people eventually realize it's not a bad game.… Expand

    Having enjoyed the first game to the point I would call myself a fan, I had high hopes for this sequel. I am happy with what I have played so far and feel that it is a leap in every regard from the first game and look forward to the conclusion.

    I haven't finished it yet but the story is good so far and has the ability to hold you in like good story telling should. I also enjoy they took some risk with beloved characters, you feel so many moments andforget your playing a game instead of watching a film. It's a must play if you like the genre or like a game that immerses you into the environment.

The overall design and mechanics suffered from some issues, but thankfully this wasn't a fail festival like Fallout 4. The game had the grave misfortune of making me no longer care about the characters and the story was so abysmal, I was considering trading my two year chip in for the sweet mercy of oblivion.The graphics, animations and soundtrack of this game earned a lot of my respect. The overall design and mechanics suffered from some issues, but thankfully this wasn't a fail festival like Fallout 4. The game had the grave misfortune of making me no longer care about the characters and the story was so abysmal, I was considering trading my two year chip in for the sweet mercy of oblivion.

    When it was over and the ending was not satisfying or even a hook to make me care if there is DLC, I docked one last point for that and one particularly horrible scene that I feel should have bumped the game up to Adults Only on ESRB.

    I won't join either herd on this take of a hotly debated game. The critics and the audience are both annoying and I've gained a lot more reliable information from playing the game, myself. It is just barely better than adequate on its own and earned all six of my points. But through the lens of nostalgia, I can understand why some users would give it a "3" when comparing it to the prequel and the prequel's DLC.    … Expand

    Para empezar matar a Joel en las primeras horas de juego fue una parte de la historia que me desgradablo por completo, controlar a Joel por 5 minutos al inicio y luego verle morir golpes de un palo de golf es una parte de la historia que desearia que no hubiese pasado.

    La historia de Ellie me parece muy meh, es la tipica historia de antiheroe vengativo, la historia de Abby tambien fue algo meh, pero me gusto como lograron meternos en su transfondo y el porque de sus acciones y no nos pusieron a un villano meh sin un porque de sus intenciones,

    Ver al final como Ellie se resiste a matar a su objetivo despues de matar a todos sus conocidos, y que esta mujer Abby matara a Joel y a Jesse y casi mate a Tommy y a Dina fue algo que no se nos explica, el final me parecio horrible, pero bueno supongo que con ese final les dara para poder hacer un TLOU 3 y sacar mas dinerito, increible como puede destruir un gran juego, por eso nunca me gustarion secuelas de videojuegos famosos, en fin, espero que Sony y NaughtyDog les valga la arruinar un gran juego sacando una secuela pesima, espero en la 3ra pueda llegar a su punto de redemcion.

    The look is very beautiful and the audio is great. but there are still some bugs and boring moments.
    They show us that there is not always a villain, in this case, there is only a cycle of hatred and revenge, which brings more and more pain to the characters. Tommy, Ellie and Abby lose people who care a lot because of this cycle of hatred. The game shows us that there may be another way, when Ellie, who seemed to see the similarity between Abby's relationship with Lev and herself with Joel, spares the girl.

    There is something very beautiful about this game, but sadly, it never comes together. A big disappointment. It’s disturbing how the writers put barely legal Ellie & Dina through such torment, only for their journeys to be ultimately pointless.

    I believe this game isn't for everyone. I feel like you have to put yourself inside Eli's shoes to understand what is going on. And frankly people watch shows like Game of Thrones or The Walking dead and don't mind at all when the same happens in the TV shows but now in the game it's a piece of garbage? For me the game is great as it is. Thank you Naughty Dog!

    Um jogo muito bom com gráficos absurdamente lindos, a história é bem aceitável, teve muito altos e baixos, mas não deixa de ser, jogabilidade bem divertida. É uma total melhoria enquanto ao primeiro jogo, só desejávamos mais na história, porém mesmo assim não foi algo ruim.

    The Last Of Us 1 was very good game. Good story, interesting gameplays. The Last of Us Part 2 little opposite of that. Boring story, but the gameplays looks good and the graphich too. But gay characters? Nah

    The game is amazing ike the first, the story is engaging , you can feel the emotions of the characters and care about some of them, not to mention the gameplay, soundtrack and amazing graphics.
    I think some decisions are courageous not pleasing everyone, and that divide opinions.
    But this game like the first still WONDERFULL!!!!

    For a game that is mainly story-driven, the story was downright disgusting, making the whole game a waste of time and money. It was a slap in the face for fans of the original. It wasn't fun. I had to force myself to finish the game since I wasted so much money in the buying the collector's edition. The story itself wasn't shocking. What is shocking is that the creators of this game didn't stop to think how ridiculously bad the story was during its production.
    In my opinion, there's nothing positive to this game other than the visuals, sound, and acting. Nothing groundbreaking. The only thing that broke (other than the obvious spoiler) is my trust in Naughty Dog, Sony, and so-called professional video game review websites, who repeatedly tried to sway people away from the leaks and towards playing the game "with an open mind".
    It's sad to see this game do so poorly. I don't even want a Last of Us television show anymore if this is what the creators think is their best work. Neil D has become the new D&D of Game of Thrones. It's sad that he thinks all this hate is a sign of his success.
    It's disappointing that people involved in Naughty Dog see the user score as a joke. They can't take any criticism and refuse to believe their work is less than groundbreaking.
    This game did not flow well at all. In the end, nothing in either game mattered. It led to nothing.
    The Last of Us is the new Game of Thrones Season 8, The Star Wars sequel trilogy, and anything else that had a bad sequel that ruined the franchise. This was like a direct to video sequel.

    You really don't need to play this game. It's a disappointment. The PR was a disaster. Naughty Dog is done.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If you are expecting a fun, happy, relaxing game, The Last of Us Part II is not for you.
    Without comparing it to its predecessor, Part II handles itself very nicely. The graphics, environment and music in this game are, without a doubt, some of the best in the history of games. However, the game struggles in following a single plot, and it could arguably divide itself into two games: one with Ellie's story and one with Abby's story.
    Ellie's story is, with the exception of the way Joel is executed and her relationship development with Dina, what we were expecting from Naughty Dog. A violent, crude, brutal story of vengeance. The relationship with Dina is not appealing enough. This is caused by the inclusion of Abby's story into the game. The developers didn't focus enough in a single character, causing a lack of character development that ends up bringing the game's story down with it.
    Abby's story, on the other hand, is going to receive endless backlash. For us (players) to be able to play as a character as Abby, who tortures and cold-blooded murders Joel, Naughty Dog had to give us more reasons, backstory or empathy. That for only 15-20 minutes of gameplay as her. They didn't accomplish this. This also got us to miss a great part of Ellie's story.
    They accomplished something valuable. We get to completely hate Abby, and make us want to get justice for our beloved Joel. However, the ending goes against everything we worked for. Ellie breaks the revenge cycle by sparing Abby, but loses everything for doing so. Before this, Tommy separates from Maria and loses mobility on one of his legs. Meaning all of the characters from the first game get a depressing ending to their stories. Not only that, but it feels incomplete and empty.
    The only one who gets a "happy" ending is the character we grew to hate: Abby.
    It answers some of our questions from the first game, but with the worst possible outcomes. Ellie knew Joel was lying to her, and she doesn't quite forgive Joel for it. They get close to fixing their problems and become an ideal father-daughter relationship, but never accomplish this because of that big lie.
    Objectively speaking, Abby's actions are as justifiable as Joel's, but we get our hearts broken by them. From a player's perspective, they ruin everything we built in the first game in the most gruesome way possible.
    Comparing this game to the original:
    Gameplay: 2>1
    Soundtrack: Questionable, but 1>2
    Graphics: 2>1
    Environment: 2>1
    Character development: 1>2
    Story: 1>2, because of the plot holes.
    Suspense: 2>1
    We all knew Naughty Dog wasn't good with endings, but this was utterly ridiculous.    … Expand

    The game looks amazing, gameplay is an absolute joy, and the story and characters are as engaging as you’d expect from the previous entry. It is as brutal and uncompromising as I’d hoped going in. Happily, I managed to stay spoiler free going in, despite The leaks and all the ruckus. Well worth it.
