    It's linear as hell, boring and has an crappy plot. Don't buy it, the first one is way superior while this was just made to cash in on the current Political Climate. Avoid it.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. To me without a good story the rest doesn’t matter. The graphics, audio, game design are all good. Here’s why you shouldn’t support Naughty Dog:

    Joel is killed brutally. Someone people spent much of the first game building an attachment with. I believe it’s because Naughty Dog doesn’t think games should have straight white males anymore. You play the second half of the game as his killer. How ND thought this was a good idea eludes me. Abby (the killer) is not a likeable person. People want to play more Ellie instead they have to play as someone they hate. The story is all about revenge being bad, yet Abby gets hers and walks away while Ellie loses everything. The game doesn’t give you the choice to kill Abby as Ellie. Robbing you of what you want to do because god forbid Neil Druckmans leftist masterpiece character Abby dies.    … Expand

    They just stomped on everything that made the last of us good, the characters and the story. I'm giving it a 1 because the gameplay looks decent but honestly, we bought it for the story.

The reason we all wanted a sequel was to see how the relationships of the characters we know and love are doing and maybe meet some new faces along the way. We all wanted to visit some old friends but nope naughty dog said forget that and throw pretty much a new cast of unlikable and unredeemable people for us to play as while completely disrespecting our main characters in every possible way. Very uncharacteristic decisions are made by our Joel Tommy and Ellie which without we don’t have this forced story. I love the first game so much I would call it my favorite game of all time without a doubt. This one however Is completely disrespectful. The flashback with Joel and Ellie at the museum is beautiful and especially where he sings Pearl Jam for her !! That’s what we want and I give those parts of the game a solid 10 so I’ll give the game a 1 just for those scenes alone but the store is a solid negative 7… Expand

    A really **** story backed by a really crappy enemy ai system. Enemies are as dumb as they were in the 2013 game. Really disappointed on the way they treated joel in this game.

    The driving point for the narrative with Ellie having virus immunity was interesting and helped unfold the first story. That is now irrelevant.

Paying no respect to the first game, Last of Us Part 2 progresses the series in an offshoot direction, with a message completely opposite to that of the original—failing to justify its name as a "part 2" to the story. While the gameplay remains fine and the graphics top notch, the unbelievably and at times laughably bad storyline makes The Last of Us Part 2 a game toA shocking disaster. While the gameplay remains fine and the graphics top notch, the unbelievably and at times laughably bad storyline makes The Last of Us Part 2 a game to remember for all the wrong reasons.

    Firstly, the good. The graphics are among the best we’ve seen out of the ps4. A true spectacle from start to finish, the 3D modeling work, animation, voice acting, and production value in general are all fantastic. The gameplay is… fine. If you liked the first game’s gameplay you will like the gameplay here, but likely not very much more if at all. The game barely progresses its gameplay in any meaningful way. The jump button is pathetic. The aiming is stiff. The melee combat is an improvement with the dodge mechanic, but it remains a button smashing contest now with one added button, the dodge button. The dodge mechanic can be readily abused and enemies can regularly be ran past all together. So that’s the good, on to the terrible: the story.

    Every character acts unlike themselves. From Joel to Ellie, the cast you used to love has been abhorrently butchered. Joel and Tommy have been watered down to bumbling idiots and Ellie has become an unlikeable mess. Character motivation goes out the window as the writers of this game seem to think everybody playing are complete idiots.

    Violence is wrong. Violence is bad. Yes, we get it. We got that in kindergarten. At no point does the game push itself to give the player choice, at no point do the writers ask themselves is this worth throwing away the meaning of the first game. Ellie, a hollow shell of her former self following the early events of the game, no longer provides the regular comedic and energetic flair she provided from the first game. Fine, character development right! Well who's going to provide the levity? Nobody! Life sucks! That's what the writers will say, oh so smugly. Everybody you meet is slated to be awful or be killed. And the writers will revel in the kills that they force you to play. How many dogs are you ready to kill! We made the enemies scream extra-long so you really get that violence is bad. After all, revenge sucks... right?

    No! Says the fanbase! How could you possibly think anybody would want to play as Abby? After the things she does, there is no redemption. The writers seem to have failed to realize that we, the player, have played 20 hours as Joel. We understand him, and we understand the situation. We also understand that this is a sequel, 7 years after the original--Joel was obviously going to end up here. But like this? At the hands of an npc who not even Joel remembers? Right at the beginning of the game? You don’t even get to play as Joel for more than 10 minutes. False advertising could be argued! Be warned reader, you play half the game not as Joel or Ellie! But as somebody who was in none of the promotional material or trailers--somebody who you will come to hate so bitterly within the first moments you meet her. Abby will go down in history as one of gaming’s biggest **** ups.
    The shame is that in a vacuum, the Abby section could have been a good spinoff Last of Us game. I suspect somewhere in the tumultuous 7 yearlong development that this may have been the case. But as it stands, sandwiched between the horrors that are the beginning and end--Abby, like Joel and Ellie, has been ruined.

    The ending will leave players shocked that they wasted so much of their time and hard-earned money. But hey, now we know that revenge is wrong, right? We now know the difference between responsibility, peace, and accountability! We now know what real pain looks like! What it means to be human!

    1/10 on metacritic since there are way too many people who have not played the game giving the game a 10. The real score is a 6/10 or 7/10 for me. Anyone who says 10 is blatantly ignoring not only the flaws in story, but also the mediocre gameplay that has barely progressed from the first game. A 10/10 gameplay experience should really push a genre and set a bar in some respect. Does this game have any stealth ideas that push the genre past where it already was? No. How about the third person shooting? The platforming? The puzzles (the handful that there were)? Nope. If you really enjoyed the gameplay that is fine, but none of it sets any kind of bar. The only bar this game definitively sets is in presentation and acting.    … Expand

    si quieres un juego visualmente hermoso puede pasar pero como una historia flaquea mucho hasta el punto que llega a molestar ,sus mecánicas están bien pero nada de lo innovador que se hablaba

But you would have to pay me to play this game again, and that would be a maybe. What they did with the story and how they just bent their knee to the SJWs is just absolutely pitiful. Along with the false advertising, making it seem like Joel was going to be in it more mainly, you just offed him, literary spat on his body, and made us play as his killer. I do not care about Abby, I didn't want to play as them at all after that. You tried to make them look pathetic but you utterly failed at it. And then the ending, I don't think I have to even bring that up because I want to just forget this game. Waste of my money and time. And If you take this review down because of me being either a "Troll" or "Bot". I paid for the game on release, avoided all the spoilers, and tried to enjoy it.     Really? Thats the plot? And ok dead?... time to get a refund. Another game where the critics pander to the game studios so that their access doesn't get cut off. Graphics are good, story sucks. Its like a great story got attacked by Hollywood and written for the lowest common denominator. Save yourself the money and pass on this one.

Este juego es una completa decepcion, por su historia, trama y guión, primero porque su historia es completamente estúpida y sin sentido, además de que Ellie mató a los cómplices de la muerte joel excepto a abby, y matara a cientas de personas que no le hicieron tanto daño y después al final no matara a abby, que tonto, su trama es demasiado flojo y absurdo como por ejemplo como joel se confíe de personas y que además que en el 1er juego, el ni era asi, es demasiado absurdo, y su guión es demasiado forzado, sobre todo en el personaje abby que es una chica que parece chico y que además es la que mata a joel, la asesina de joel y que después al final no la mata ellie por lo que se puede deducir que las personas o feministas LGBT meterion mano, pero no es por ser homofobo aunque eso nisiquiera existe, además que se puede argumentoar por qje ellie mata a todos los cómplices excepto a abby, ven lo que pasa.

    Lo bueno es que sus gráficos son demasiado buenos, y su jugabilidad es excelente, si tu buscas un juego con gráficos y jugabilidad excelentes, este es el que buscas, pero si buscas un juego con excelente historia, trama y guión este no es el que buscas, nisiquiera lo compres.

It's probably the longest Naughty Dog game to date, and the payoff is nonexistent. The ending is terrible, there's no multiplayer like in the first game, and playing the game from start to finish feels like a chore. I had to intersperse my play through with intentionally killing the new ma'am at every opportunity just to get some satisfaction over this. Spare yourself the $60 and just watch spoilers online if you're really curious. But you're better off just enjoying the first game and pretending like this one doesn't exist.    … Expand

The graphics are wonderful, the gameplay is very good although similar to the previous installment, but the story is one of the worst of this year: The writers take the content very bad especially because the ending was very bad, do you really kill half the world and you forgive the antagonist? That message they wanted to give us is a total contradiction. A lousy narrative with a message that is not convincing. If you are true fans, this game is going to make you mad.

    The graphics look good and the combat is still nice but that's it, that's the good point. Ellie and Dina are cute too.
    The story is a joke. They spit on the face of every fan of the first game. Joel's death is whack. He wouldn't say his name to strangers like that when he knows some people out there want him dead. Abby is a **** character as in she is badly written. The game is a big boring walking simulator for the most part. They make you play as Abby way too much especially after she kills Joel which is dumb since you don't want to play as her and when you face Ellie you just want to die. The ending is absolute **** Joel basically died for no reason and Abby gets to walk free and Ellie is all alone in the end. I'm giving it a 1 instead of the 4 I originally intended to give because no game as ever made me this angry for all the wrong reasons.    … Expand

    However, the story of this game is complete and utter trash. It would have been mediocre if it was simply about getting revenge and actually finishing it. It's so incredibly dumb that they force you to play as Abby for about half the game. When I had finally finished playing through Seattle as Ellie, I was relieved because it felt like a chore the entire time. I was expecting it to end in the theater, and for there to be some half assed ending.
    When I instead realized that I had to play through Seattle from Abby's perspective, I nearly quit playing. I took a break for a few hours and decided that I was just going to play it through since I had already bought and downloaded the game, and there was no way for me to refund it.

    Oh my god. Was that supposed to be entertainment? If playing through Seattle as Ellie felt like a chore, this was like being in a concentration camp. Did they really think we would begin to like Abby? The new character who murdered the best part about The Last of Us part one? They really gave us 10 minutes of backstory and expected us to somehow start sympathizing with her? Holy **** I can't even begin to fathom how this **** played itself out in the writer's room. What Neil Druckmann did here is without a doubt a worse murder of a franchise than what D&D did to Game of Thrones.
    And Yara and Lev? These characters are just worthless. I felt no connection to them whatsoever.

    I've waited for this game for 7 whole years, and I can't even describe how disappointed I am. I feel so god damn bad for the developers who did an outstanding job on this game in every aspect, only to have it be ruined by TERRIBLE writing. Also, the fact that Neil wrote himself into the game only to spit on the body of Joel is a beautiful metaphor of how out of touch Neil is. Everything he touches turns to **** The change in direction he forced on Uncharted 4 made the people who made the last 3 leave. He went so far up his own ass to sniff his own farts that he's currently inside out. It's insane. The absolute gall of that man, to come onto the development of TLOU2, kill everything that was good about it, and then spit on it's corpse. It's beyond belief.

    Everything in this game felt like a forced lecture. No, I don't want to play a video game during a global crisis to learn about how bad revenge is, and how it gets us nowhere. I want to avenge Joel and be done with the **** game.

    My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined. Good job Neil, you ruined one of my favorite games of all time with your abhorrent writing. I don't even **** care about the LGBTQ+ characters, whatever. If you think it's a good idea to add more of those to broaden the acceptance of that, that's fine by me. I do, however, think you did that community a disservice with your abhorrent, terrible, utter horse**** writing of these characters.

    **** this story. **** everything about it. From start to finish.
    I'm hoping I'll wake up tomorrow and that this has all just been a bad dream.

But a graphic trans sex scene, and being forced to play as a gay character is a little much.. The storyline is weak sauce. Lo que me da muchísima risa es que los críticos como ign dicen que es fantástico pues ellos de seguro solo vieron el trailer y dijeron o genial pero el juego no lo es, diré espoilers así que deja de leer o de igual manera no gastes tu dinero, la historia tiene incongruencias como la escena del principio donde le confeso joel a su hermano no sirve de nada pues ellie lo descubrió por ella misma, cuando ellie y abby se enfrentan ellie falla todos los disparos a corta distancia mientras forcejean con tomy, nos ponen muy mal la historia dejándonos en suspenso durante mucho tiempo y con odio a abby haciendo que sea indisfrutable el juego durante todo el rato que jugamos con abby y al final ponen una escena donde ellie tubo uno charla con joel en la cabaña de lo cual es muy raro el comportamiento de ellie en toda la historia pues dejo vivir a abby ya que ella le hiso daño y ellie confirma que le tiene cariño a joel sin importar si sea malo pero la deja vivir lo cual no tiene sentido que te maten a alguien querido y tengas pesadillas, no quedo como lo hicieron en assasins creed cuando al final lo dejo vivir pues nada de eso cambiara y en este juego el final es malo en mi punto de vista… Expand

    Remember how the first the last of us game had heart, loving characters, and a purpose and goal for the characters to survive? This one has none of that and it's terribly boring.     After the first part I expected something especial, something gorgeous. And finally I got a beautiful candy at the first sight. It has delicious package outside and a piece of s h i t inside. Actually, it's not a game, it's the piece of the LGBT propaganda masked as post-apocalyptic survival game. Thank you, Naughty Dog, it was the last your game I bought.

    I really liked the first one. But not so much for the game play. It's one of those games where you really liked the characters and the story. So in the second one they messed up the characters, made the story trash, and kept the same sub par gameplay. I just thought the game was ok at best

This game felt like a lifeless cash grab off the back of tlou 1, not only does the injected social justice feel forced but the storyline feels lazily written, rushed and out of order, not to mention the game forces you to play as the antagonist for half of the game and expects you to sympathize with ‘her’ through pathetic attempts to show ‘she’ is a decent human being when in actuality ‘she’ felt lifeless to play as and I couldn’t help but feel to put the controller down and stop playing. The ending to the game was was also a disappointment and overall just confusing as Ellie decides to let Abby go but mercilessly kills innocent people throughout the game to get to that point, I'm not sure if this was meant to show character development but it didn't come off as realistic or believable at all. Some of the plot makes no sense to me and felt like paper over the cracks during moments such as when Mel was assigned duty despite being heavily pregnant but was still involved with battles and somehow climbing ropes. There was a total lack of character development and the game did not give the player a chance to even grow close to any of the characters and to be honest not many of them were even likable. This game was not only ruined by the SJW, forced progressive hammer but lacked serious plot development and in all felt disappointing and a waste of a good opportunity, i feel bad for the teams of the game that weren’t involved with the plot as the game itself is stunning and the environments were fun to explore.
    I'm glad the user reviews are highlighting this game's huge flaws and if anything shows that critic reviews are worthless as they only seem to rate the identity politics of the game, and not the game itself.    … Expand

Abby should not be a playable character the fact that she is is almost as dumb as drinking bleach. They kill Joel and Jesse like they were random characters. Try to build emotion for killing the people that killed Joel even though non of us give single **** about them. Let Abby live after she kills Jesse and somehow doesn’t kill tommy just shot him in the head(makes sense). I wish they never made sequel ruined my favorite game franchise. Idk how the people who created uncharted could **** up this so bad.… Expand

I just ended the game, I'm completely disappointed, I think the dead of Joel (my favorite character) has fck me up a lot, I don't understand how you can kill a protagonist that many of us loved in that way, for me it has been hard, it has broken the story completely, on the other hand the characters did not seem to "feel" the death of their friends or loved ones, as is the case with Jessie, among others, I have not feel any drama for the deaths, it lacks depth, although I insist on it. What has shocked me the most is that they killed Joel, I did not deserve it, the saga has gone from being my favorite to "one more" of which if there is a continuation I will not buy it, there is much to polish, the final actions of Ellie, looking for Abby to get revenge to finally leave her alive losing 2 fingers and not being able to play her guitar and lose everything, I have noticed that forced part, completely filler, that part could have been omitted, I understand what they wanted to capture in the game, even so I think the end was unnecessary , the truth has disappointed me a lot, bad purchase, I would rather have stayed with the experience of the first part.

    I also did not like that there are so many "flashbacks" from the past, there are so many that the story is reduced a lot, with the game I have noticed "more of the same" without big changes in the enemies or the combat, except going to the ground and jumping everything others is the same, a change in the weapon system and updates would have been a good point, and the story well ... very linear sometimes I have even noticed that it is very forced, Joel It has been noted very well that it has "discarded".     Bottom line, the story is garbage. Deceptive marketing aside. Creator could not refrain from injecting his ideology at the expense of a decent story. However, the essential message was good. Yet, It was horribly delivered. Save your money for an enjoyable game.

    La historia es muy floja, se preocupan mas por recordarnos que Ellie es lesbiana y explorar su sexualidad, en lugar de darnos una buena historia. El problema no es que sea lesbiana (eso ya se sabia desde el primer juego), el problema es que le dan mas importancia a ser diversos e inclusivos que a dar una historia mejor que la del primer juego.

This is just about as disappointing as the sequel trilogy for Star Wars, throw away everything good from before, and try to force people to be happy that you destroyed the beautiful original, graphics and music were great. Very disappointing that my favorite character died when acting out of character, early in the game, I would rather have seen him die at a better turning point in the game.
