Paid fake critics that are writing positive reviews because they get paid and because truth wouldn't sound tolerant enough to please minorities that wont even in play this game. Story is disgusting piece of Imagine waiting 7 years for this trash. No improvements in mechanics or gameplay, the only good thing is graphics and visuals. Were we all just waiting for some appealing graphics? For 7 years Naughty Dog couldn't think of anything else than revenge plot. HOW? WHY? This is soo stupid. They couldn't even finish the story properly where Ellie gets her redemption. Ellie just kills 1000s of people just to forgive the one who killed Joel who was like Father to Ellie.How ing stupid this is. Devs, what were you thinking? Were you thinking that this game and this story will teach me to forgive or what ? Killing tons of enemies, whole game is based on violence violence, no elements of survival at all and in the end its just forgiveness. Stop this political propaganda, SJW all of this is irrelevant in this game. Killing a lead male character just to promote your Feminism in the game. I dont mind Ellie being a lesbian and I dont mind playing as Ellie or other Female characters at all! But this story is Bull. We all are here to play video games and enjoy them, video games shoudn't promote ** like this with sjw/gender propaganda or any other stuff. One more thing keep this Anita Sarkeesan away from game industry, she is out of her mind.     Do not get it twisted. The outrage is not a testament to the love for the first game, do not think an appropriate response was achieved. This game achieved nothing bar outdoing any sequel failure to date. Not only have you made something atrociously ugly it casts a murky shadow on its predecessor.

    The Last of Us Part II is everything you didn't want to be in the sequel. Hope druck will leave the company because he's a terrible storyteller. This is a great game with the weakest story and characters with stupid decisions and motivation. Tries so hard to disconnect itself from its predecessor that it ends up disconnecting itself from the player

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. a massive disappointment for a sequel of a masterpiece. The story is basically a force-fed SJW propaganda with awful pacing. Political correctness agenda definitely felt throughout the story. The story itself while trying to carried a great message was poorly planned and executed The fact that they killed the beloved MC from the first game, Joel in the very beginning did not help to win over the fans. The death of your old main character did not matter if the story was well written, which is not in the case this game. The ending was awful and left a lot to be desired. The game mechanics and control felt clunky and showed little to none improvement from the first game or the last Naughty Dog games, Uncharted 4. The AI is decent but felt a little bit like a downgrade then the previous title. The only redeemable side of this game was the graphics and the design. I'm glad that played this game using my cousin's digital copy from his account because this game is not worth my money.… Expand

    The controls are clunky, the story is a total washout and the worst thing is that you get a game that you dont get to play that much between all the cutscenes. The only redeeming aspect is their support for the gay community

    I really don’t know how they managed to **** this up, they had 7 years, 7 ****ing years, and they came up with this story, this horrible story. What a shame. The gameplay what okay, the graphics was also good, but this is a game that focuses heavily on the story, if you **** that up, then there’s no point of playing.

As a beloved fan of tlou 1,the tlou 2 story telling is absolutely garbage compared to tlou 1,After joel daughter got merciless killed by a military solider who was suppose to protect them,joel would trust a stranger going to their holdout base like it is a thanksgiving dinner,then got killed by a feminist character with a goal club,of all the enemies and dire situations joel had survived in tlou 1 ,joel got killed by a goal club within the first three hours of the game , what is the meaning of joel death not to trust random stranger right,isn't this how joel daughter got killed and how firefly almost kill ellie because joel think firefly wouldn't sacrifice a life just to save humanity , joel death is an insult to tlou 1 and its fans. ………….The most infuriating of all is the game force you play as abby to fight ellie in a boss fight,After abby kill joel,you get to hurt ellie the character you care and trying desperately to protect like your real daughter ,the character that also give joel the last hope to live and survive after tess and sarah death ,after all the journey we been through in tlou 1,l don't know why anyone would find it satisfy and angry to hurt ellie even we watch abby tragic story,remember there are no choices in this game,you cannot evade or escape the fight,l couldn't imagine myself or anyone finishing that part of chapter and l don't know why someone would give this a 10/10,it is like they have forgotten the existence of tlou 1 and the bond we share between joel and ellie.… Expand

They use LGBTQ+ characters as a shield against any hate they get. False marketing is at its fullest here. Bear in mind YOU PLAY AS THE VILLAIN FOR 11 HOURS!!! It's **** lazy and downright disgusting writing. I am glad that it was leaked, if only i were to save my time and money. This game is so bad, it even ruins the first game for me, and I am shocked and furious that these guys get away with this. This game lacks everything the first game had.

    Don't even get me started on the ending. The ending is terrible, it is **** it is a waste of space and a literal **** joke.

    Ok, so imagine if John Wick, at the end of his rampage, **** APOLOGISES to the guy who killed his dog. That would not even **** happen. I didn't **** understand the ending I was seeing.

Listen, if you loved the first game DO NOT PLAY THIS, The Last Of Us 2 might have great visuals and cool combat but it ruins everything that have to do with the story, this game has no respect for the fans nor the subject matter,the writers just wanted to do their own stupid thing, so they kill Joel, "OK fine" i say almost in tears, "let's see where they go with it, it is interesting" I say, but it actually is soo stupid, I don't want to spoil more, if you haven't played the first one play this and you will have real fun with it but to all the fans of the original delete this game from your mind, think that it is not cannon, think it as an alternative universe, because, and I am sad to say it for game I was waiting for 7 years, it is trash, this game should not exist, and for those that will say"but it is marvelous, a technical standpoint.... " yes it is, but the last of is the STORY, the characters, the relationships, not the graphics or the combat, graphics and combat ARE GOOD, but it is still trash. I would also like to talk about the ending to this piece of **** called The Last of Us Part 2, Ellie has been through soo much, SOO MUCH, and she does not kill Abbie(woman Kratos), WHY WHY DO THIS, she kills so many people across her journey fo revenge and at the end she doesn't get revenge, WHY, I am not angry, no, I am just disappointed, I almost jumped from my balcony with this ending, fans of the first, please don't do this to yourselves, play something else, not this, please....     I think they need to STOP sexual objectification of the game characters. There is NO WAY your new male protagonist - Abby - can be so muscular in realistic post-apocaliptic setting! He need to survive, not lift! And what with this long hair? ACTUALLY most males after 20 are balding! 0/10. His high-pitched voice actor sucks too

Level design is the only good thing about gameplay. A.I. is cheap too (some enemies are cool like the dogs). Honestly, if you think story is enough to overcome such backwards gameplay then why not putThis game has so much against it even before the story. It pushes nothing in terms of gameplay. A.I. is cheap too (some enemies are cool like the dogs). Honestly, if you think story is enough to overcome such backwards gameplay then why not put movies in the same category. They have such good story that you don't need any gameplay. The gameplay doesn't push the industry anywhere but back to the PS3 era. We have seen this gameplay before. There's nothing new and everything is very old.

    The story. Holy heck the story. Shock for the sake of shock has been done before. There's nothing new there. If you want to experience a repeat cycle of it then a montage of shock fanfics on the internet would do better. Trust me, you've never experienced anything like it. But even if you want to do shock then don't expose yourselves as ametures. What made Game of thrones initially good was that they knew how to pick up the story after the shock hit. Everyone went to try and replicate that but it was easy to tell the fake from the professionals because the fakes never understood that the power of GOT wasn't in the shock but the intriguing political duels and battles surrounding it. After "that" scene this game's story and characters become very awkward in their lines and acting. The script writers have no clue how to write a story from that point on and thought a cheaper version of GOT shock would be enough (pfft, ametures... hey, i'm actually sounding like a real critic). This game just keeps going back and forth and back and forth between stuff without character progression and without giving meaning to itself nor to the game it is a sequel of. Quite the opposite actually, it takes out all meaning from the first game. And the one point where they had an oppurtunity and could have maybe pushed the industry forward despite having a horrendous game before that point was completely missed. They could have given us a choice to kill her or not as that's the uniqueness of video game story telling. But nope, they opted for a linear approach (to be fair, it's not like giving us a choice there would have been newand revolutionary either) which is something seen in the oldest narrative games on the store and every movie on the planet, and then critics say this story pushes the industry forward in terms of story telling? No. That's Detroit. That's Witcher. Those pushed the story telling in the industry and the Witcher did it whilst advancing the gameplay in each entry. This, TLOU2, is just an insult. This game deserves to not be rated anywhere near those games or any game over an 85 anyway. The story was pushing "revenge is bad" via its linearity so bad that it failed. In the end, i didn't feel like revenge is bad. Abby gains everything while Ellie loses everything. Everyone except Abby loses in the cycle of revenge. Abby is the only one to have her moment.

    And by rating it as high as the critics have, they have nuked and cheapened and made meaningless all the hard work, effort, awards and approval the gaming industry has fought for all these decades. By falsifying reviews on the PS store even before the game's release (which is why i didn't review it there and decided to do it here) sony has spat on the work of all game developers and the industry. You have cheapened the efforts and achievements of the first TLOU game. If TLOU2 deserves a high rating, then many other games deserve higher.

    I give this game a 1 for good level design and good visuals, even though the latter is expected in a game coming this late in the PS4 life. But its flaws are too many and too deep.

    Last of Us is a game built on a foundation focusing on the story of Joel and Ellie.

    The father and daughter relationship and their grit and intelligence got them through the dangers of the world. They were almost inseparable.

    Last of Us 2 decides to throw all of everything I just stated.

    I waited seven years for this.
    Whatever you call this.

    Only thing that was good was the graphics.

    After seven years of waiting for the game to continue, I would expect a different story than that after two hours of play, one of the main characters from the original game will die. When she died, I was expecting at least some nice revenge, but the fact that they let the second main character die, that's **** too much. I only give one point for processing the game, which is so average for 2020, but I liked the nice graphics. They should have kept the story on paper and fired the screenwriter. I hope that at least he will return my 60 €, which I could otherwise burn straight away.

    Po sedmi letech čekání na pokračování této hry, bych čekal nějaký jiný příběh, než že mi po dvou hodinách hry zemře jedna z hlavních postav z původní hry. Když už mi umřela, tak jsem čekal alespoň nějaké pěknou pomstu, ale že nechají zemřít i druhou hlavní postavu, tak to už je kurva moc. Dávám jeden bod jen za zpracování hry, které je na rok 2020 takové průměrné, ale líbila se mi fajná grafika. Příběh si raději měli nechat na papíře a pana scénáristu vyhodit. Doufám, že mi alespoň vrátí mých 60€, které jsem jinak mohl rovnou spálit.    … Expand

All you do is kill. You kill for 30 hours! I could play WoW or Path of exile, kill for 30 hours and feel much better than after this game. Lame... Hope it fails tbh, games should feel good and rewarding for being played! Bioshock infinite had a better story than this attempt at a point and shoot game.

    Far cry 5 had a very interesting approach which made the player indeed feel odd and unpleasant, unfulfilled with the ending, but that was a charm, because up to that point the gane was 12/10    … Expand

Even though, the graphics and the gameplay felt very well done. Maybe this awful critics are gonna help Naughty Dog to see how they make their big mistake and give us a good game in the future. Yes, the game goal was to be dark and sad. But i dont see the point of leaving the main "villain" alive just cause a flashback with Joel and everything else. I mean, all the killing, all the revenge for nothing? Everything that Ellie been through, everything that shed done. It clearly could meant for nothing.


    Naughty Dog fails in giving the players a little bit of hope and clearly a fair videogame. Its a shame of what ND has become. Graphics 9.9/10

    1. Graphics - 9/10 - they are good but we are in 2020, and is not like we did not had games with good graphics before or from now on ... what a stupid argument.

    2. Game-play -6/10 - nothing changed, almost like the one in 2013 ... 7 years and not that much changed, you want to tell me that awkward jump is amazing ? really ? that is the best that the critics can come up with when they give it a perfect score ?

    3. Combat and "stealth"- 5/10 - the combat its not that good, the stealth mechanics the same not that good , we have so many game which are doing the stealth and combat mechanics a lot better then TLOU 2.

    4. Story - 0/10 - the story it's garbage, you have two lesbians raiding on horses, kissing and smoking weed and doing some **** in the open world , then you play with "It's ma'am" and want to revenge you father ( a random NPC from the first game, no back story no nothing ), you run around for a little bit then switch back to the two lesbians, back to "It's ma'am" ... the you run in to Joel, he saves you life then you lead him to an hideout he tells you his name just like that , then you torture him for a little bit and in front of Ellie you smack his head with a golf club. **** you game .... then you play as Ellie who said that she will them all , after a few hours into the game you switch to "It's ma'am" and you take it from behind in a gay scene ( **** this game ) ... ...... anyway in the end Ellie finds "It's ma'am" they fight and because Ellie has a vision of Joel lets her go ( nice revenge ), then Ellie returns and wants to play the guitar, but because "It's ma'am " bite two fingers out of her she cannot ... The end ...

    Just finished it, I personally didn't like the gameplay from tlou 1, but I did love the story. Unfortunately tlou 2 had a terrible story that at some points made no sense, the original characters did not feel or seem like themselves, it felt more like a fan made spin off. Luckily, I got a free copy so I didn't waste my money.

    Overall gameplay and graphics are good but story is terrible. With this story, this is just another zombie game. At least I was expecting them to continue the story to find the cure, not something like this story. A sequel like this wasn't needed at all imo.
