    I usually do not post scores on the games that i played because i believe in peoples different perspectives. But this one is beyond perspectives. I post this comment simply because i cannot let these people who think that they are better than us to ruin any more of my beloved game, movie and etc franchises. We must not let them namakeke any more of it oh yeah graphics were good. I give 1 for that.

    Gameplay and graphics were both fantastic. However, this is a story game and the story fell flat.
    It was filled with plot holes, shock value for the sake of shock value, and the only meaning to find behind any of it was childish and shallow.

    I have to say I understand the game critics from their perspective, the graphics, the music and the game mechanics were amazing, however, the story writing part of this game is complete garbage. The story ends literally nowhere and you are left completely clueless as to what happens next, oh and don’t expect another game cause I’m ninety eight percent sure it’s not happening.     Le doy 1 punto por los gráficos (nada que la primera entrega no tuviera) y por la jugabilidad (que es la misma de la pasada entrega ) de resto hasta una historia de wattpad hubiese quedado mejor . La parte uno la jugué innumerables veces esta ya la venderé de una vez .

    Story 2/10 - compared to the first game, this is very disappointing Gameplay 5/10 - very similar to the first game, with a few innovations (the minimum that we expect for a game that is launched 7 years after the first one, but I was expecting new mechanics and more innovations)
    Graphics 7/10 - again, what we expect for a end of generation game, but still think that Red Dead Redemption has    Story 2/10 - compared to the first game, this is very disappointing Gameplay 5/10 - very similar to the first game, with a few innovations (the minimum that we expect for a game that is launched 7 years after the first one, but I was expecting new mechanics and more innovations)

    Felt like 50% of the gameplay is cutscenes with characters that I don’t really care about it

    Clearly some websites and youtubers were paid to give it a 10/10, if Naughty Dog or Sony give my money back I can change this and give it a 10/10

    And after all the leaks and spoilers right before launching the game, makes a even worse experience

    Graphically the game is spectacular. Minor gameplay improvements on the first game, which IMO was never anything special to begin with. The story is just an atrocious basic revenge plot you might find in a local hoghschool english class. Bit of shock just for shocks sake . The first game was a story driven masterpiece, however this sequel was just a beatiful picture with a horrendous storyGraphically the game is spectacular.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. the only thing that saves this game from having a score of zero is its graphics and game play the actual story is lack luster and the killing of Joel would have great if used properly but takes the use of it and defiles any meaning you could have gained from it only being used to turn ellie into a "villain" i genuinely couldn't care that she's lesbian it was introduced in the first game and it makes sense but gleaning everything out of her personality to focus on it is abysmal story writing and frustrates fans of the series many of us would have been just happy with a transgender lead character *which naughty dog now says is actually a female* as a protagonist but its not used in anyway other than a sex scene which pulled me right out of my immersion of the game and trying to act like it was some sort of plot twist but its not its juts uncomfortable for people to watch now to a main complaint i hear and want to address i wouldnt have cared if Joel died in this game it would have been intriguing to see how ellie would have handled the loss of her surrogate father but they turned it into a revenge story where ellie became the villain and you had to play as the sick animals who bashed Joels brains in which was even more upsetting and gave me less reasons to root for them other than them being cardboard cut outs over all underwhelmed and severally angry at this game don't waste your money wait until its 10$ or less to purchase because it is just god awful and completely disrespects the first games masterpiece of a story line and characters… Expand

    wow not a single negative review by critics srsly ? i guess sony had a good time sending money to those people . anyway what i want to say about this game is the following - dont buy it . it is disgusting and dissapointing . story is so bad compared to the first game also sjw propaganda is written all over the place . the only positive thing about the game are the graphics but thats about it .

    The graphics are superbs but the rest is uninteresting. The gameplay is slow and the story is a finger to the fans. You could love this game but it wasn't the case for me. I've played three hours and I stopped.

I was so looking forward to this game, I hoped the leaks were wrong. Unfortunately, they are all true. And I can no longer hear all of these apologists who believe that the majority of users fervently hates this game because Ellie is a lesbian. No, that's not what it is about. I was looking forward to seeing Joel again, he was my main reason to buy the game. Ellie is cool and I wanted to know how she developed. But I wouldn't have bought the game because of her. Why is this game bad? Druckmann threw Ellie and Joel in front of a incoming train. The story is crap, how Druckmann has Joel killed in the game is crap and the end is a joke. This game has a amazing graphic. True. But what good is the best graphics if a game has no heart? For me, neither TLoU2 nor Naughty Dog exists.     This game really shoudn’t be out. The story is about a revenge and even if this subject is easy, they messed up. We were lied about the story, the trailers were a manipulation. I wasted 250zł ~ 60$ on this game. Everyone wanted a story with Joel and Ellie but we got a story about Ellie’s revenge. They made Ellie look like a bad character (killed dog and ofc she killed pregnant woman) but the main villan was showed like a hero (fe. helped kids, play with a dog etc.). And the ending, oh god, it’s basically awful. Don’t get me wrong because i support LGBTQ+ community but I don’t know if it’s Sony’s LGBTQ+ politics but the amout of putting gay, trans etc. things is really unnecesary. They tries to make a good game but it turns out it was ****    … Expand

    As much as I believe you should have the freedom to express creativity...you should also understand what the fans expect from you as a company. The fact you thought making a divisive game was the route to take. You will now have to accept the consequences. Gave it a 1 just because of the gameplay. Everything else is crap.

    I’ve been waiting 5 years for this and I can’t tell you how disappointed I am. I can’t believe the creators of the original game created this one. The story-telling was just dreadful and the fighting system was similar to the original but was overall monotonous. I’m really trying not to hate but something must be going on at naughty dog studios because this is such a bummer.     However, I cannot rightfully recommend this game to anyone who enjoyed the first or was expecting a good story here. Some extremely poor decisions were made with regards to the direction this story goes in, well loved characters have been completely butchered (literally even) and all their personality has been ripped away. The new characters this game introduces are boring, bland and have absolutely none of the chemistry that Joel and Ellie shared in the first game. The script is poorly written and the protagonists seemingly make the most asinine decisions I've ever witnessed that are completely out of character. The plot has been reduced to a petty revenge story that has absolutely none of the gravitas or emotional weight that the first one carried

    The pacing is all over the place and made the game a slog to complete. To conclude; please do not buy this game if you have any love for The Last of Us as a franchise, I personally feel utterly betrayed and insulted by what it has turned into and I doubt I'm the only one with this opinion, this is is certainly the last Naughty Dog game I will ever play    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. 1/10, just like most A-Squad members would say, except, I watched this dog/ape/giraffe of a game and couldn't even enjoy anything besides the streamer's commentary and his comical chat of which I was watching. I wasn't even playing it and all I can say is, I'm glad I saved 60 bones because maybe I can purchase something more useful, like bleach to clean my eyes with after watching this repetitive and strand-like type of game. Not only have you ruined the integrity of the story with political agenda, but also Naughty Dog as a whole (who have actually come out with notable games like Crash and some of the Uncharted's). It is just so appalling to me that this story got through group-thinks and conferences or whatever it may be that they hold in order to come together and criticize their work. To be frankly honest, there is just no way that a game as shockingly terrible as this one, especially when compared to it's predecessor, wasn't critiqued during its earliest of stages just for the story alone. My guess is, there were people who did try to speak up but when they did, they were berated and scolded because they were seen as sexist/transphobic/racist/homophobic/etc. and thus, others noticing that factor, decided to stay quiet as well. How does one create a masterpiece like the first game, and manage to, quite literally, beat the second game to a pulp like the lackluster (and lack-in-trailer main character) Abby when she brutally killed Joel. I'm not saying that it's bad because Joel died, you can do that one hundred percent and still make it a good game, but her killing him because of Joel killing her dad without any redemption from Ellie or understanding/guilt from Abby is what makes the story so pointless and poorly written. Shortened Evidence: Tommy would never ever leave something of which can trace them (the map) behind, especially when it was literally in his view and because of years spent in the apocalypse; Joel and Tommy together, both survived pretty long and well during this time, leading on to think they are smart and cannot be outwitted easily but nope, die to a trap/sabotage which can be easily seen as well as diverted from the beginning; Ellie wouldn't just let Abby go after everything, even with the kid, because of Joel's everlasting death on her head, Tommy's not to-the-death but brutal beating that led us to believe he died, Dina because of Ellie abandoning her true love (which Dina told her that she most likely won't be there if Ellie came back) to specifically go out and KILL Abby, all of her other friends that were literally killed by Abby and Nora, and literally the whole first game where where Joel literally blacks out and wakes up in a hospital with the last thing of him seeing is Ellie getting taken away and him being told that he won't be able to see her because they have A CHANCE (not even certain) of a vaccine to be made from her, as if that vaccine, unlike any other vaccine that has ever been created in the history of mankind, will be shipped out completely for free AND the only source is a teenage girl, how many products of vaccines would that even create? Plus, you're in an apocalypse, you really don't think there would be any power-hungry folks trying to get control of the vaccine and literally use it to reap the benefits. The fact that the devs even still try to bring up how Ellie is mad at Joel in the end for not letting her die and make that vaccine is just so poor because the whole story is there, and maybe, even if Ellie was never told the full details (im talking full deets, not "yeah, they were going to kill you for a vaccine and I just grew a bond towards ya and didn't want that to happen, 'nuff said" because if Joel explained it the way it was, Ellie would be on his side whole-heatedly) she should be able to single-handedly understand the concept of a vaccine for the turned in an apocalyptic environment, especially when shes seen people kill others over food, resources, shelter, etc. Just writing a review about this game gets me angry and I didn't even play the game, I watched it! It's just so absurd. This game deserves less than the two fingers Abby bit off Ellie, so I'll give it 1/10 fingers,… Expand

    The gameplay is simple but effective. The world and graphics are very good. Beautiful and full of detail. But there are troubles that counterbalance too much those positives things to really enjoy the game. There is here a clear SJW agenda (LGBT multiracial Story, graceless female characters, etc..).

People that defends this game just because of the graphics are indeed stupid. Graphics don't make the game, storylines do, mechanics do, etc.

    Not even 3 hours of game and they just kill Joel, with a freaking golf stick. He at first saves a member of some group and after that the hole group goes to a house, which Joel never have been there before! In the previous game we see how Joel is never confident about his location, he never feels comfortable, always doubting about everything, being always one step ahead about all situations, he is savage. But now, in this game, it's weird how a smart man transformed into a neglected man. He deserved better. Or even a honorable death if it's the "only" way to continue a story. A man that we all cared about, and we see his death in this miserable way, it hurts to see, to be honest.

    They also did false advertising in the trailer, putting in a lot of moments Joel, making it seem like he was going to live all along. But that of course didn't happen.
    Later Ellie looks for revenge, wanting to kill Abby (the person who killed Joel). Abby (no one knows why) left Ellie and Tommy escape (yep, they both watched the death of Joel... Well, Tommy was knocked out so... I guess just Ellie did), afterwards she goes after Ellie. They have a mini confrontation, and then when Abby had the opportunity of killing Ellie, you guessed it! She leaves again.
    Ellie is now going absolutely after her (Abby), in the process of getting to her, Ellie kills 4 (or more, sorry if i counted wrongly) of her friends.

    At the end Ellie finds Abby like like a Jesus model in a wooden stake. She saves her of the stake, Abby gets a friend that was on the same situation, they go to a boats that where at the shore. Before Abby and his sleepy friend leave on the boat, Ellie then decides to fight... Punches there, punches over there, ok. Ellie is about to kill her by drowning her, the moment we all expected, the revenge we were all looking for through all the game, this revenge was the aim of the story... But well, you know how this turned up... Ellie is about to kill her, but a flash of Joel playing the guitar appears, and for some reason we can't really understand, Ellie stops drowning her and she let her go leave, the main purpose of the story was to finish her. Why? That doesn't make any sense. If this was real, if you get a flash of someone you love and you have the person who took that other person from you... Wouldn't you get even more pissed off and kill her at the instant? This thing of "killing is bad" doesn't make sense because you just killed a bunch of people just to get to the main objective, you can't use the moral when you want, because that's not hoe it works! It just looks too forced.

    Another thing is the orientation of the protagonist, Ellie. The problem is not that she is homosexual/bisexual, the problem is that they don't normalize it, even at the start they talked about how she kissed a girl... Like, we don't care, is fine if you like whatever you like, but don't put it every time in coalition. If Ellie was a heterosexual girl, probably we wouldn't see a lot of conversation at all over her oriented sexuality. I really think they use the topics of the LGBTQ+ topics just for marketing.    … Expand

We spend only half the game as a beloved character and the second with another who they try to make us like but fail miserably. Unnecessary sex scene to boot and a WTF ending that’s just... woof. We don’t have sympathy for Abby and they try repeatedly to show that Abby is “good” and Ellie is “bad”, when nobody is buying that. They both leave a ton of carnage in their wake and then.... unsatisfying ending to say the least.… Expand

    Bad story, they try to get me fond of Abby, Joel's unjust and cowardly death is the worst experience you get from the game and the end is the worst, so many hours of effort in the game so that in the end there is no revenge or dignified.

    Just finished the game coupe days ago, didn't spoil me before the release ... as a fan of the first game I really can't like this one and that's so sad and upsets me. There are some decisions were made which I do not understand. The greatest strength of this franchise is now the biggest weakness. The story has a lot of plot holes and it's simply not good. The gameplay still stuck in the year 2013.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So 1/10 to be VERY generous, and here's why. With Minor Spoiler in what I say. Also, I quite frankly pity those ppl that spent Hundreds of dollars on the huge box, because I'll be honest Naughty Dogs ripped of us on this game.

    First off I'm beyond pissed at Naughty Dogs to have spoiled the entire storyline in the very second trailer of the game about a year ago. Other than the 2 trailers I steered clear of all and any LoU2 info to make sure that nothing would be spoiled, and yet within 1 hr of play I knew the entire story...

    Second I go nothing of what was promised to me. For more than half the game have to play as Abby, a person that the devs are trying to make "human" or endearing towards the player, while I couldn't give 2 **** about her, just because of the brutality and unfair justification that her "target" "got what he deserved, altho he deserved more..." Who gives a **** about her... and then, to add insult to injury, the devs want to me to kill Ellie using Abby. A R E T H E Y O U T O F T H E I R F U C K I N G M I N D S !!!!!!

    Also (and it's hilarious even in the synopsis here it still says so) the story happens 4 years AFTER Salt Lake City, NOT 5. The game itself hammers that point home very often and from the very get-go of the story.

    I loved the first game, and Ellie was a big part of it, the only issue I had with the first game was, that I didn't play long enough as Ellie. That's why I was sooooooo excited when this one was announced, "Yay I'll play the whole game as Ellie" I thought to myself... And then, I start the game, I'm Joel, then Ellie for like 5 min, then I'm Abby for longer than I was on Ellie, then Ellie again for a few dozen mins, then Abby again for as long as I was on Ellie... And by that point, I knew the entire plot... Nothing unknown left to discover, some plot-based questions raised by the story development that I'm trying to piece together and unravel, nothing like that, just a big ol' "yeah Abby and her friends are those ppl that are looking for this guy to kill him, and he we got to avenge him..."

    Another minor thing, Ellie felt different in this one. It felt to me like she lost some of her sassiness and spunk that she had in the first game, 2 elements that are among the reasons I fell in love in with her in the first place.

    The pacing of the story is also abysmal. Especially when you are forced to play as someone you don't even want to play, then the amount of flashback for both Ellie and Abby makes it worst. And the ending.. OMFHG! Worst possible ending. I hope this game soooo many negative reviews and bombs (in a negative way) so much that Naughty dogs NEVER wants to announce a 3rd title... because its the only obvious possible reason for THAT specific ending they gave us. Its even more open-ended or sequel oriented ended than Horizon Zero Dawn ever was.

    And to think that the announcement of this title is the only reason I bought a ps4 for... what a waste of money...    … Expand

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
