Although the game did feature Joel’s death in the most dishonorable way possible, it fueled the rest of the game for greatness (if that makes sense). What I mean is: Joel’s death was a tragic event in the story, but it didn’t ruin the whole game. It was delivered amazingly and really had a lot of suspense leading up to it. Now the gameplay/graphic design was outstanding, there weren’t a lot of frame-drops, and the combat was energizing and exciting. Whether you were fighting someone with a bow, a sledgehammer, or even an attack dog, the game delivered gracefully. I do understand the idea of the game being pandered to an “SJW,” kind of audience, but it wasn’t really forced into my face like a lot of other reviewers. In the end I’ve really enjoyed this game, and would play it again in a heartbeat. 100 (btw I’m not some bigwig who got the game early, I got it the same time it came out.)… Expand

    Games are so subjective. I love this, but others won’t. You have to play it for yourself. For what it’s worth, the story is a tough watch, but then it’s not meant to be comfortable. I enjoy the game play and the environment is amazing. I can’t fault this game.

    Very good and fun game overall. What it missed (and that doesn't make it bad) was one of those iconic Naughty Dog moments that move the whole industry forward.

    For instance, characters tumbling and not landing perfect jumps in Uncharted, that awesome fight inside a moving train and on a collapsing building in Uncharted 2, the fight sequence in Uncharted 3 on moving cars and the boat    Very good and fun game overall. What it missed (and that doesn't make it bad) was one of those iconic Naughty Dog moments that move the whole industry forward.

    For instance, characters tumbling and not landing perfect jumps in Uncharted, that awesome fight inside a moving train and on a collapsing building in Uncharted 2, the fight sequence in Uncharted 3 on moving cars and the boat sinking... This one added a few things, like crouching and obviously the environments are beautiful, they dared to have a lesbian protagonist and let you play with a villain...     It’s a masterpiece. Great graphics. You can tell that Naughty Dog spent a lot of time and effort to make it, and the actors did a great job.

    So as a mainly social gamer I don’t have the time to play a million games and the majority of the time I definitely don’t complete the game. But I played this through and finished it. So I guess that sums up how I feel about this and pretty much any Naughty Dog production. Well done!! Again

    The OMG, WTF moments continue and they're great! Just like The Walking Dead, there's some deaths that are shocking and sad, but that's the story and I personally liked it.

Iniciei a história e - ao menos até onde pude ver - essa continua sendo uma produção a nível da Naughty Dog, o que já diz bastante por si - é uma pena que gamers de outras plataformas não possam compartilhar dessa experiência. This is my personal take on the ending and why I believe the ending was fantastic. Ellie gained her humanity by not killing abby. She didn't kill someone out of revenge. It took ellie hitting rock bottom to realize that this viscous cycle of hatred just needed to end. It was over. Killing abby wouldn't bring joel back.


    Abby and ellie go through the same experiences, just at different times and they handled the situations differently. Abby got her revenge in a brutal way.... but she still felt empty. Killing joel wasn't the solution she thought it would be so ultimately she decides to go back and help Lev and Yara (the queen) as a desperate attempt at some kind of personal redemption. Also, her nightmares about the hospital continue after killing joel.... implying that getting revenge truly did not give her the closure she thought it would. Ellie murdering abby when she's just trying to take care of lev at this point (which is similar to joel taking care of ellie) would have taken everything from her. She would have lost every part of herself that made her human. She would have lost herself beyond redemption. She saw a chance to keep a part of herself (her logic, common sense, human decency, hope, humanity) by not killing abby, and she took it. She realized that the cycle had done nothing but cause death and loss to both her and abby. Abby lost mel, Owen, Nora, and Alice. Ellie lost joel, jj, jesse, and dina. And in a way, abby and ellie lost a part of themselves. Abby lost basically all of her humanity by actually taking revenge. Ellie lost a bit of her humanity and her common sense. She abandoned something she wanted more than anything (a happy family) just to continue the rage cycle. However, she didn't do the same thing they did, which gave her hope and humanity. She didnt continue the viscous cycle. She became better than abby and the other WLFs. She broke the hateful cycle. She made a choice to save what little bit of herself she could. In that moment, it wasn't a game about loss anymore. It was a game about hope and human decency.    … Expand

    Ellie is still the amazing character from the first game that we all remember and love. And with everything that happens in this game, you feel for her and understand her choices. You may not agree with them all the time, but you can understand them.
    Joel has a key part throughout the entire piece. The scenes with this character are the most heartbraking and heartfelt in the game.
    Open mindedness is the key to this game. You just have to experience the whole thing to judge the game. In the end, you definitely won't regret it.    … Expand

    Perfecto, es el mejor juego, me encanta, es igual e incluso mejor que el primer juego, sus mecánicas son excelentes. Aunque hubiese preferido que Joel muriera de otra manera :(

    I have played the first The last of Us on PS3 and I wanted to replay it on PS4 before Playing Part 2, I loved the first TLOU and the DLC left behind is a short but meaningful story, I finished my second playthrough of the first game the day before i started playing part 2 and I was glad I did that. Part 2 is exactly that, a continuation of the first game but it has better but familiar gameplay and you feel at home with controls. Many dialogues can be missed if you haven't played the first like when Ellie tells that they once met a guy called Bill who used to plant bombs all over his town or when she was captured by people who used to eat their victims. Great acting and the story isn't obvious, never felt to know how it would go on. The game makes you feel many emotions and makes you even stop playing it because you don't want carry on, you don't agree with what is happening but this is the beauty of this game, within hours or minutes it makes you feel opposite emotions and makes you hate yourself for hating certain characters only because you didn't agree with them because of the lack of understanding and knowledge of their background and motivations. I loved the story but what I loved most was that this game brought up so many emotions, not all positives but also negatives, that i can't say many games are able to do so. Part 2 goes deeper in the story and gets better gameplay to the point that the first TLOU looks like a demo, just a taste of what ND wanted to tell and show with this games.… Expand

    Its just an interesting game on my part, it let's you know in the world we living, even heroes die, just like in game of thrones. So however painful your favourite characters killed off are, you can use that to judge a game, but it is what it is. P.S: Majority of those posting up here haven't even played a quarter of the game before the posted on here. It's just sad.

    Großartiges Spiel mit großartiger Grafik und unglaublicher Story. Die ganzen negativen Kritiken sind völlig unverständlich. Wer ein Spiel auf Grundlage einiger Spoiler bewertet, die einem nicht gefallen, den kann man nicht ernst nehmen. In einer postapokalyptischen Welt gibt es nun mal nicht immer ein Happy-End und damit scheinen die ganzen „Kritiker“ nicht klar zu kommen.

    Great, just great. I feel so sorry for those who are incapable of enjoying a game just because it has a message that they dont necessarily agree with. It's a game about hate, but it's not that simple. It's a game about all the cycle of hate. Anger, Revenge, Consequences, Empathy, Acceptance and Moving on. Truly a masterpiece.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us Part II is a master piece of gaming that surpasses its predecessor in almost every way .. The first hours shockingly devastating blow puts an incredibly heart moving story in motion that questions choices, morality and loss. The character designs and environmental locations are stunning and immersive and the harrowing journey is both beautiful and soul crushing. I have to state this game is not happy and is almost magnitudes more violent, gory and depressing than that of the first game. Many reviews are about this issue however what people need to realise is the violence as bad as it is is extremely realistic the LGBTQ+ aspect of the characters is also a refreshing change of pace as whilst front and centre between characters such as Ellie and Dina it never feels forced or unwarranted yet it also doesnt command the screen. There are no plot holes however you are required to read everything in game to understand them there for making for good replay ability. Naughty Dog has created one of if not the best game of all times and i commemorate them deeply ... Well done :)… Expand

    the last of us part 2. is the best game. i have ever played. better then the first game. because the first game was so so so so so boring. the second game makes you scared throughout. the part with Abby i loved the scene with the killing of Joel it reminded me of negan killing glen on walking dead. i laughed when you first see abbeys face she looks like Shrek . on YouTube i said she wasthe last of us part 2. is the best game. i have ever played. better then the first game. because the first game was so so so so so boring. the second game makes you scared throughout. the part with Abby i loved the scene with the killing of Joel it reminded me of negan killing glen on walking dead. i laughed when you first see abbeys face she looks like Shrek . on YouTube i said she was Shrek and laughed about it. overall this game doesn't deserve the hate. it has received. for killing Joel who the **** cares. the graphics are amazing. the story was perfect. its the truth. my rating for the last of us part two is a 10 out of 10. side note i just finished the game . i jumped a lot playing the game with my headphones full blast its so immersive. so stop hating a game that will definitely win game of the year. the game was about Abby a girl whose father was the one Joel killed. when he was saving Ellie. the ending was perfect. the reason Ellie didn't kill Abby is because it is not what Joel would have wanted. it deserves the 10 out 10 ign gave it. i was so happy when Joel died. because i didn't give a **** about him. i cheered when Abby killed Joel. overall a game you should buy. if you hate it your an xbox loser… Expand

    So far the game has been amazing it's very clear the majority of reviews are people trying to bomb the score to hurt sales . Especially people who are claiming to have beaten a 30 hour game less that 2 hours after its release and hasn't even been on the market for 15 hours yet . So far the game has been amazing and I will not spoil the rest . It is a journey you must experience for yourself.

    Definitely lives up to it's hype... Hard to compare it to the first game simply because of how iconic it was for it's time, but it's surely not a let down. Every review about the dark and gritty parts if it are true.. the story is heart-wrenching and everyone you kill, no matter how much you may believe they deserve it, just makes your stomach churn.its a shame to see that the game isDefinitely lives up to it's hype... Now on my 2nd go and i love it, people seemed to forget people die in games and i like how this game shows us that no one is the good guy and that the past can catch up to them. also the ending shows Ellie showing her mercy over her wrath and hatred not letting it consume her. Good story, stunning graphics, incredible details and really entertaining keeping you always intrigued or kind of tense wondering what can pop out the next door or room. Not sure what so many people are complaining about, I doubt most of the people who left bad reviews even play or finish the game, they just did reviews based on the spoilers the saw and are just mad because Joe died and that was enough to trigger their thin skin into booming this website with bad reviews. With that being said if you played the first you'll definitely love this one! don't let someone else feelings and non-accurate reviews ruing your experience. get he game play it and be the judge of your own experience.… Expand

    Naughty Dog delivered on all fronts. Fantastic storytelling, graphics and sound design. It‘s a beautiful swansong to the PS4 era. Don‘t listen to the negative, homophobic reviews. Most gamers clearly haven‘t grown up it.

    Joel died because he had to, maybe all of you didn’t realize that he was de enemy of the entire planet with a simple lie to the savior who had the cure, he went against the will of Ellie and kill innocents in the midway I obviously would have chosen the same but is wrong thing ‘cause we r thinking with the heart and not with the head.

Our characters are here, and some moments arent what people are going to want at all. But revenge is a story, and it never goes well for anyone. The game is beautiful, and the story is what it needs to be for the kind of world exist. If you dont like the story, then your sheltered life maybe needs an eye opener. Thank you Naughty dog… Expand

    For me it's one of the best game in the story, the gameplay WOW!! AMAZING, maybe could have ended better, but you should play honestly.

    Damn. After the 1st game I was worried this game could never be as good, but I am so happy to say that this game went beyond my expectations.
    Great story, brilliant characters, superb voice acting.
    The pacing is a bit slow in the beginning but it picks up, the gameplay has improved alot since the 1st game, especially the combat. The whole experience was simply amazing and emotional.

    Но так как я лицемерная мразь, как и все игровое сообщество, то выскажу свое мнение которое сложилось по впечатлениям от летсплеев, стримов и первых 15 часов собственной игры.

    Графен - 9/10: не шедевр , но каждая сцена достойна шума плойки
    Сюжет - 10/10: я обажаю кровавые роад муви , при чем с жаждой мести и насилием, которое адекватно обосновано (это кстати кор игры и в него не пробралось СЖВ)
    Геймплей - 8/10: я ждал прорыва, но получил отшлифованый The Last of Us 1 , чем от части доволен
    Персонажи - 7/10 : ни один фильм , ни одна игра еще не расскрывались всех персонажей , которых ввели. Вы понимаете мотивацию, почему они стали такими и как они пришли к своей жизни. Даже если он гей, то это пояснено так, что ЛГБТ+ сообществу это не понравится и это прекрасно. Элли мой личный фаворит - такие эмоции могут появится у девочки, только если она росла в постап-се.
    Технологичность - 5/10: мы ограничены поколением , по-этому новых вещей вы не увидите , все было в других игра от собак либо же в недавней рдр2.

    Итог - 10, сделаю вид, что я не знаю математику как прочие люди, но я поставлю 10 , чтоб поднять рейтинг игры этого года. Геймеры - лицемеры, и эта игра доказывает это. Все ставят нули, но 500к+ зрителей на твиче, что с вами не так?
    Игру я перепройду как минимум раз и желаю всем пекарям, чтоб игры следующего поколения у них не запускались.    … Expand

    I'm loving this game. They don't need to tell us what we want to hear, they are telling their story. An awesome, dramatic and heavy story. The visual of the game are VERY beautiful and I don't regret buying it even a little bit.

    Noch etwas zu dem stupiden Review-Bombing sogannter "Gamer" hier: ich gehe stark davon aus, dass die Masse an den Leuten das Spiel nicht einmal gespielt hat und sich von unwahren/halbgaren Leaks (wieso lest ihr das überhaupt? selbst Schuld!) beeinflussen ließen, die einfach dem Spiel nicht gerecht werden...und dabei rede ich noch nicht einmal von den "harten" Fällen von homophoben und rechten Gedankengut, was hier verbreitet wird. Das zeigt, dass in der Gesellschaft viele tief verwurzelte Probleme stecken voller Intoleranz, Rassismus und vorallem Unwissenheit. Sehr traurig.

    @Metacritic: auch für sogenannter "User" sollten nachweisliche Bestätigungen vorliegen, dass der Reviewer das Spiel auch gespielt hat. Dieses Review-Bombing muss enden!    … Expand
