The games story so far isn't as good as the first, BUT I didn't expect it to be, the 1st game is an absolute masterpiece of a game, but rating this game a zero is ridiculous... NOW I'm gonna say a quick spoiler so don't read the next sentence if you haven't played it yet.........................................................................................................

    I"M HELLA ticked off Joel died, @#$^@$^%@$%^$ ... i just don't think that was necessary... But being only 8 hours in so far I'm gonna experience the story and enjoy it.... Overall this game is good, NOT as good as the first, how could it be, the 1st game was just way too good to top ... I can nit pick on a few things, like why are people leaving Tommy's camp with only 2 people when the dangers are so apparent outside, that wouldn't be very smart of people... In the 1st one it made sense because she was the cure, Joel was on a mission to deliver her somewhere and he didn't trust people and worked alone for the most part.... But anyway, overall it's a must experience and so far it's solid, once I"m done beating it I'll give my full review... I"m only giving it a 10 right now to counter these ridiculous reviews where people are giving the game a zero.... RIDICULOUS....    … Expand

However, after spending half the game, we are "forced" to play directly with Abby, but not just a flashback or a few hours, they are from 10 to 12 hours, although Abby's character is well built and justified, I don't want to live the experience with her, I chose Ellie and that's why I bought the game; They force you to face it, everything is at an excellent level but the feeling that the game leaves you at the end is angry and sad ... I hope I can choose Ellie again in some time.… Expand

    Great game, 10 out of 10. Looks like alot of 0 star reviews learnt a new phrase this week, sjw. I bet ya half of them dont even own a copy of the game. Just watched a few reviews on YouTube, saw the leaks a while back and decided, not for me and im gonna make sure this bombs. Sad really.     Eines der besten Spiele das jemals erschienen ist, hier passt einfach alles. Atemberaubende Grafik, eine extrem spannende Story, wahnsinnig dichte Atmosphäre. Ein Muss für jeden Spieler der ganz großes Kino spielen will.

    Most people only put a review once the game came out less the 5 hrs after it came out. It's a very long game so most reviews here are just fake. This game is so great. from the story to game play, yes it feels to much like number one that could of done with a bit more addition things done to it but it's definitely a must play

    This game has all the charm of a snuff film that cost millions to make. Bleak, wretched, torture porn and horrific inversion of everything that people loved about the first game. TLOU 1 saved some people from suicide, this game drives them to it. i give it 10 because anything less seems to get rejected by the website.

    The game is really beautiful and the story doesn’t follow the cliche that we used to see in many games and gameplay is perfect. The dialog and voice is super crazy. I really enjoyed the game.

    Very important note: Dont see the users reviews because most of them havent even played the game, They are just relying on the stupid leaks.

    I can't imagine what an absolute loser you have to be to review bomb a game without having ever played it and claiming "the story is bad" because you read some leaks. These people don't deserve rights and are incapable of complex thought.

    That being said, I actually did play and complete the game. The gameplay is exciting and beefed up a lot mechanically compared to the first game. Constant tension and stress running from alive and undead foes alike makes the brief quiet moments seem like oases. The story challenges the player to feel empathy, and the people saying naughty dog "doesn't care about the players" because of certain events in the story lack that quality.

    For the people dismissing the game as "SJW trash," you're on a whole new level of vile. The extent of the "SJW pandering" is a lesbian relationship and a transgender character, who is arguably the most likeable and relatable character in the game. These characters don't seem like tokens, they seem like real people, which is refreshing.

    TL;DR go buy this game if you own a PS4, period. If you didn't play the first one, play that first.    … Expand

    Part 1 was a masterpiece, yet this one was able to easily surpass it, If you loved the first one, and you love Naughty does games, you'll have to play it, this was a great experience, I'm already playing it for the second time. Don't let the negative scores scare you away, these are mostly users who didn't play the game and embraced the hate.

The acting of Ashley Johnson as Ellie and Troy Baker as Joel is wonderful. The hardwork of Naughty dogs has paid of. Joel is died in first 3 hours of game but people are mad they don't know the story but they have to post negative reviews. If you guys purchase the game then you have to complete the game then make your opinion and then came here and post your reviews. If look at Red dead redemption original on PS3 and Xbox 360 in this game the main protagonist has died in last part of game then people have no opinions and they can't post negative reviews and make ratings 3.4 not making comments on rockstar games but in this game Joel died people are going mad.     I really like this game, but it's not perfect, I think in the last of us 1 is better compared to 2, but in the last of us, part 2 is better in some aspects like surreal graphics, gameplay, options, combat, artificial intelligence improved in a fantastic way and because we have a vision of Ellie's gradual maturation

By the end of it, I was really hoping Ellie would stop because she was getting too crazy with revenge and I’m glad that that’s exactly what happened. Every character had clear motivations and the parallels that were drawn between Ellie and Abby make me feel so bad for them but also understand them at the same time. Amazing game and I’m going right back into it on the harder difficulties. The pacing had some issues to me but that would only make it around a 9.5-9.6 to me so gotta pick 10.

    If you’re looking for a game that discusses some challenging subjects such as empathy, emotional blindness, revenge being a fool’s game, while also giving some fun gameplay (similar to the first but more brutal) then I would definitely say to give this game a try. To me the best way to experience this game is to try your best to see things from every character’s eyes. It might be challenging and understandably so but it definitely helps the point stick.    … Expand

    Tres bon jeu, il s’est amélioré en tout point par rapport au 1er. Je trouve le gameplay assez satisfaisant (pour les gens qui le trouve trop simpliste je vous conseille d’y jouer en difficile ou survivant et ce sera une toute autre histoire) Pour ce qui est du côté narratif du jeu, il y a rien a dire, j’ai jamais ressenti des émotions aussi forte dans un jeu et je pense pas revivre uneTres bon jeu, il s’est amélioré en tout point par rapport au 1er. Full disclaimer, I was one of those people back in Feb/March when those leaks dropped, that I vowed never to play and hate Naughty Dog, blah-blah-blah. Luckily I came to my senses very quickly and even bought a special edition from Game UK where you have a reversible sleeve for Ellie which is pretty dope.

    I played The Last of Us Part II last week and did so everyday until I completed it on 01 December 2020. Yeah, Joel died but I got over it...as Jim Sterling pointed out, Joel wasn't a good human, he had a shady past. The game deal with loss and grief in the most realistic way depicted. I like Abby Anderson as a character who fights exactly like Joel which i thought was interesting. If I met Abby in a post apocalyptic world, I wouldn't care about her past; the fact she's so badass is a plus and I happen to love buff women like Gina Carano and Bridgette Goudz (sure, they are conventionally attractive but they're Amazonian!)

    And let's remember, Neil Druckmann doesn't have an anti-male agenda thing going on, he still honours Joel through really emotional flashbacks and right at the end, when Ellie is about to kill Abby. There are many great surprises throughout, from Dina/Ellie in Wyoming to Santa Barbara (my favourite section).

    If you're one of those idiots who loves Ryan Kinnel (that boy needs to eat) Geeks & Gamers (I could easily knockout Jeremy in the ring) , Heels vs Babyface (ironically throwing a childlike tantrum when Sony copy struck his channel) and TheQuartering (overweight turd in a basement) then you should avoid this review! They've gotten and continue to get subs with their far-right politics, not for me, thanks.

    I played this game, loved it and Naughty Dog took a risk, rather than copy-and-paste. It will win Game of the Year at next week's VGAs. I cannot wait to try it on Game Plus.

Obviously nothing will be better than the first but this game is an amazing revenge story. To the idiots trying to review bomb, don’t review a game you haven’t played. No watching out of context cutscenes is not the same as playing the game.… Expand

    Excelente juego, un buen Gameplay y unos gráficos más que impecables, su historia depende de enfoques personales, con una violencia brutal que hace sentir cada muerte, lo único que cambio fue que como jugador no tienes la misma importancia para el mundo del juego que en the last of us.

    While in TLOU you get to see how Joel saved Ellie by killing a surgeon and stopped humanity’s only chance at finding a cure, in the TLOU 2, you get to know who the surgeon was, who his daughter Abby was and who his close and loved ones were – but only after you watch them kill off Joel

    The character building in this game is strong and nuanced

    You get to see Marlene and this surgeon at odds with themselves about carrying out the surgery, knowing it would cost Ellie her life, given how he’s a father himself - Abby says she would’ve given her life had it been her - and finally how Abby had her father taken away from her at the hands of Joel

    While Joel’s death at the start is jarring, it gets the player riled up enough to want to go after Abby

    Its only after this that you get to know Abby better as a person, her dad and her whole crew better and have a moment of, “Holy **** if someone did that to my dad, I wouldn’t care, I’d want to kill them too”

    Neither Ellie or Abby are objectively bad people, but an ‘eye for an eye’ world causes them both to kill off each other’s loved ones off till they’re the last people standing – while going after each other, Abby and Ellie simultaneously get to know each other and where they’re both coming from respectively The gameplay is realistic, brutal and visceral - stealth is on point, and the gunplay and melee combat is waaay better than TLOU - you have to time your dodges and hits right, and its very engaging - the seamless transitions from cinematic to gameplay are amazing

    Yeah there are lesbian characters, POCs and a sex scene in the game, but that’s just part of storytelling, the same as it would be on a Netflix show

    Like in the real world, people take digs at each other and talk and act believably This game is riddled with moments of characters making ‘bad’ decisions under pressure and a fit of rage, which is also realistic - have you never been on the spot and made a bad move because your anger couldn’t let you think straight?

    The message this game sends in a time when the world is so riddled with chaos and a thirst for vengeance is a message that resonated with me You could avenge someone, but it would never end there - someone who cared for them will always come around to get back at you - its a cycle that’ll never break unless someone decides to be the better person and ultimately forgive the other

    To start, this game is not nearly as awful as everyone makes it out to be. Objectively. I've heard so much about it being "miserable" and "misery p*rn" but that simply isn't the case. The tone is darker than the first, and our heroine Ellie goes    I had a major blast with this game from start until finish. The wait was worth it, and I find myself enjoying this game more than the first.

    To start, this game is not nearly as awful as everyone makes it out to be. Objectively. I've heard so much about it being "miserable" and "misery p*rn" but that simply isn't the case. The tone is darker than the first, and our heroine Ellie goes through so much hardship - yet there are plenty of reprieves from the trauma that it's more of the same from the first game.

    Next, the main villain. I do not have qualms about playing them; I don't have a problem with the events she makes happen within the game. I think it's very interesting to be able to play as villain and act on their motives- and it works well here.

    Mechanically this game is far above its predecessor, and improves on everything it did originally. The accessibility features have been very helpful for a disabled gamer like me - in particular, half-pushing the stick tires out my arthritic hands/thumbs, so being able to lower stealth detection and crawl invisibility has helped a lot, and neither of these things have hampered my ability to fully enjoy the horror of this game.

    Finally to mention, the game really is beautiful. It looks and feels nice and I can't help but be totally in love with it every second I'm playing. I cannot wait to platinum this and I cannot wait to see what may be in store in the future for this series, if anything.

    Thank you Neil and Naughty Dog for your tremendous work on this game - even through the crunch and bad press you've received for choices of plot in this fictional work. Thank you for bringing it to us, despite everything. Both me and my partner have thoroughly enjoyed this game at every turn, and it was well worth the wait.    … Expand

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
