    Normally I would rate this game higher than zero. That comes from the effort developers put into the game world and overall design. But the least time-consuming thing in the whole production process ruined thousands of hours spent by the Naughty Dog team on this game. This thing, not a big surprise, is one of the worst plots ever written for an triple-A videogame.

The game looks really nice, but that doesn't do anything for me when I absolutely hate the characters and the gratuitous, almost fetishistic violence.     We waited for years and all we got is a post-apocalypse revenge plot and half of the game as a character nobody asked and nobody cared. Also toxic and transphobic developer.

    This is a good example of how you ruin a good franchise. Most of the buildings are boarded up and it pushes you down a very set path. The story is horrible and full of virtue signaling nonsense.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It took me 24 hrs to finish the game. The LOS2 should've being about Ellie and Joel but instead I got to play with a character called Abby. It wouldve been nice if it was a stand alone game but to play with the villain made me uncomfortable. The whole LGBTQ agenda is crystal clear here like I mean I dnt have anything against it but seriously lile you made the majority gay or **** and not just that I had to read love letters about some gay guy who lost his husband. They pushed this too hard and it ruined the game for me. The ending lacked a meaningful ending I mean it didnt even show where Dina went or what happened or where did Ellie leave to. They had 10 years to male this game and it feels rushed with an agenda full motive. Plus Joel dying like that!?? I mean let him die no problem but the whole coencidence of meeting Abby and all felt to good to be true. Wish they had gone a different route.     This is the game of the year, HEAR ME OUT! From playing the first one on both the ps3 and the ps4 versions of the games, i had high hoped for this one and it gets good from the start, the mechanics feel fresher, the graphics are such an upgrade (it feels like i'm playing on my pc lol) and the story is rich and fresh, and doesn't feel rushed. over 25 to 30 hours in and i wanted more, i justThis is the game of the year, HEAR ME OUT!     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have been waiting this game with great anticipation. I even bought the remastered version of The Last of Us 1 to replay it in anticipation of this sequel release.

    I do not know why the writers have deemed it necessary to kill the main character from the previous game like he was not relevant anymore. I do not understand why characters who were deep and interesting are now single-layered and cliché. The only explanation is that it is a game made to look like a sequel but but made by entirely different people with no talent.

    I am sorry for the team who worked on this game. They obviously worked a lot to make it AAA. But a story-driven game with a **** story is as much a failure as a Hollywood blockbuster with a bad story and gawd awful characters would be. That's that simple.

    This could be said it is a John Carter level failure, but I actually enjoyed John Carter. It is a John Carter 2 level failure, the sequel where john gets tortured and killed in a dix minutes long agony scene and his killer becomes the main protagonist for half the game. John's friends, seeking revenge, finally corner him and eventually offer him a beer and a hug.

Ho giocato per la seconda volta questo titolo, adesso ho le idee chiare e senza dubbi lo definisco uno dei punti più alti di tutta la generazione di videogiochi in assoluto. Ha una storia semplice ma non scarna di colpi di scena, che quando ci sono, sono molto convincenti. Il gameplay è solamente migliorato dal primo capitolo, rimanendo comunque molto simile. Dopo la prima run, sono rimasto perplesso dopo il finale.
    P.S. Da ora partono gli spoiler...
    Parlando del finale, mi sarebbe molto piaciuto vedere Ellie uccidere Abby e diventare quindi una persona che durante tutto il gioco viene lentamente consumata dalla vendetta, questo lo dimostra proprio il finale, quando, Abby legata ai pali viene liberata da Ellie, ma quest'ultima non vuole spezzarla, distruggerla da impotente, Ellie vuole combattere e trovare un senso ancora più grande nella sua vendetta, che però viene sporcata dal ricordo che Ellie ha di Joel. Detto questo, vorrei cercare di far capire alla gente che mette 0 per provocazione o per il semplice motivo che odia il gioco, che se mettete 0 o magari 1 o 2 perchè la trama vi fa schifo, dovreste sapere che quello a cui giocate è un "VIDEOGIOCO" non un film, perché anche se il gioco non avesse il supporto di una trama bellissima, anzi una trama orribile e stupida (cosa che, ripeto, non è) sarebbe comunque un gioco di altissimo livello, con un gameplay molto bello, una grafica spettacolare e altri piccoli dettagli che comunque contribuiscono a rendere un gioco quello che è, perché The Last of Us è un gioco notevole    … Expand

    This game destroyed everything I loved about the first game. It is filled with characters that the game force you to immediately adore. It is a dark game with no light in it. It is just another empty revenge story. It doesn't bring anything new to the table. Kinda like new Star Wars trilogy . Very dissapointing after 7 years of wait.

    I got chance to get my hands on the game a day before the official release. And I must say that I've never experienced such an immerse and intense game ever before. I really expected a lot of this game and it just completely blew me away from the beginning. The game play is incredibly smooth, the story is really intense, well-written and caught me right away. Definitely a GOTY-candidate for me.

The game runs smooth on normal PS4, so I have to congratulate all the people at Naughty Dog that worked on this side of the game, you are masters at what you do, keep at the good work! It's a true shame all your efforts were wasted on this game.
    There is no multiplayer, so it's a big detriment for the fans of multi form the first game (like me...). Developers said the reason for this is that they focused on the story and boy doesn't that look like a bad choice now.
    The core gameplay loop is about fighting enemies in a stealth/shooting sections and exploring the world to find more resources. It's basically the same as in the first game and I think that would be ok, if the AI wasn't so bad. I played in on normal difficulty and it's a joke. Once you realize there is plenty of ammo and resources laying around, the best strategy in the game is to just sit behind cover and wait for the enemies to line up for headshots. This make combat pointless and repetitive. The game is also way too long for this type of gameplay to stay interesting, so I was completely bored of it after around 10 hours, and this has never happened to me in the first game.
    The difference is that in the first game, the story is very interesting and there is no pointless filler. Not so in this one – the story of The Last of Us 2 is one of the biggest mistakes I have ever seen. Old characters are being disposed of to make room for new ones, which isn’t a bad thing in itself, but the execution is horrible. None of the new characters are interesting, they feel paper-thin and disposable. I didn’t care for any of them in the first half of the game, and then the game pulls a twist and makes you play a different, new character which is not only unlikable, is downright despicable. I understand what the writers tried to do here – show you the other side of the story, and how we are all human – but they fail miserably. Any investment in the story player might have had is gone at this point and playing any further is just torture, as without any sympathy for the characters the game gets INCREDIBLY BORING. The second part also feels like a long, meaningless fetch quest, it’s long and meaningless, clearly filler. You will try to skip as much of it as possible just to get to the end, only to see one of the worst endings in gaming history. There are no redeeming factors here.
    You can really sum up the story like this – first it shocks you for no reason other then shock itself, nothing happens for around 10 hours while you have to deal with empty, unlikeable characters, just to get to the second part when characters switch and nothing matters anymore. And, cherry on top, meaningless, pointless ending. It really makes you wonder what the massage was supposed to be, as right now it’s “if you want revenge, make sure you go all out and be merciless, as that’s the way to end up on the good side – if you hesitate and show mercy, you will lose everything”. Is this really what the writers intended? If they wanted to show On the Metacritic scale of 0-10, story gets a 0.
    One thing I would commend the writers on is the representation of minority groups in the game – it’s very welcome, especially in these times. At the same time, I can’t help feeling that the first game did it much better, as it wasn’t so on the nose there. Still – I’m happy to see it
    Without a good story, there is nothing to glue together other elements and it’s shocking how empty it all feels. And, as I stated above, this makes the whole game very, very boring and a chore to play. I can’t give Last of Us 2 more then 4/10 in the current state. Inclusion of a good multiplayer mode could bump it to 5/10, or even 6/10 if it was superb. Last of Us 2 will be a big scar on Naughty Dogs reputation in the years to come, a big let down from a studio that Could Do No Wrong, and then went ahead to do Very Wrong. Do not buy this game, it’s a waste.    … Expand

IMHO in final part of the game (when Ellie fights against Abby) there should be more flashbacks of Ellie killing Abby's friends to show how vain they were. That would clearly show why she didn't kill her. Because violence is making more violence. That is exactly what game about. Abby's friends and Abby herself are not monsters, they also have families, feelings etc and i clearly felt that. But there should be more emphasis on that. This game made me think about how important forgiveness is and how pointless is blind revenge. Anyway, I really enjoyed this game so much! Thanks to all developers for their hard work and sleepless nights. They did enormous amount of work and i really appreciate that!… Expand

    Afterwards they may have sold joel too much in cinematics with the impression that he would go a little way with us in his quest for revenge and that would be prejudicial to Naughty Dog.

    Graph 9/10 (I found the PROLOGUE very ugly compare following the story to believe that it was not the same people who worked on the game)

The games story has been butchered from the first game by killing off the main protagonists and one of gaming beloved father figure which was totally in called for more over we have to play the character that killed the protagonist from the first game and it felt really force by how the game was trying to justified its actions and imposing a revengeful plot which was bad even tho they had good graphics and animation the story was what made last of us 1 special would highly not recommend anyone to get this game… Expand

    Just don't play it if you loved the 1st part and don't want to ruin your experience.

    Muy buen juego, la historia da algunos giros y a diferencia del anterior que planteaba un ambiente de salvar a la humanidad, este es mas emoatico te toca te mete en la historia y al final te deja un buen sabor, jugabiidad, graficos, musica, historia, de las mejores experiencias, tiran mucho hate la gente pero nada que ver, es un juegazo sin duda

    I myself enjoyed the game it looks amazing the voice actors are great and I liked the story. There were sad,angering,funny moments but I think they balanced out. The ending was not what I was expecting but thats a good thing I like story's you can't completely figure out makes it more fun.     The story in this game really suffered from poor pacing and almost had a sense of laziness. The gameplay didn't have any noteworthy innovations. As a huge fan of the first game, I am deeply disappointed in how this game turned out. The game gets 2 points just for the visuals.

TLOU2 is the story of two women that take the same path to avenge their "father" learning along the way that the cost of said path is huge, and in which they both end up losing themselves. The narrative is great. In a world like this you dont get to go out as a hero. The complexity of the characters is outstanding and they probably are the most human characters we have ever seen in a game and that is exactly why during this stroy they make mistakes and sometimes they give in to the anger, they act driven by their emotions, thats not something you see a lot these days in videogames. I think Naughty Dog took a lot of risks and definetly didnt go for the easy way (fan service) and in my opinion that payed off. The second half of the story works perfectly as a way to show the player that in this story there are two point of views and they both are doing what they think is the correct thing to do, and its completely justified. This is a story about how the lives of two girls merge when they go down this spiral of anger and violence after someone took one of the most important things in their lives. This is honestly the best game i've played in a long long time, and i think its even better than the first installment of the franchise. I understand why some people are upset about what happens in this game, but in a **** up world like this one thats how life is. People need to understand that they are not writing a story, they are being told one, and they can't control what happens. Definetly a 10/10 for me.… Expand

    The game looks great on a hdr tv. Great acting, ok story. Mediocre outdated gameplay. The arenastyle battles get boring and repetitive as the story lumbers on. Move to an area, kill everything then loot stuff and open safes repeat. It was not the sequel I've been waiting for. I give it a "it's ok" out of 10.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Naughty Dog The Last of us Part 2 is a master piece and just the sequel we needed for the incredible world that Naughty Dog built for us. Not only are the graphics beautiful, the game play swift and smooth but the story is just as emotional as the first game. I loved playing Abbys part of the game and seeing her perspective of the story made me feel sorry for what happened to her, but I feel like it would've been better as a DLC as it seems to slow the flow and pace of the story at one of the most intense parts.
    Overall it's an excellent game and a great way to end the PS4 generation. A must play for all.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Like a lot of other people, I was absolutely hyped for this game only to be disappointed in the worst possible way. Not only did they kill Joel early in the game, but they also forced us to play Abby (his killer) for half the game and also forcing us to like this hated character with an absolutely retarded and meaningless backstory but also killing Jessie (an unimportant side-character), Tommy (He doesn't actually die but we think he does at first), badly wounding Dina (another side-character that has no meaning) and beating up Ellie in combat. After that Abby gets enslaved by a random slavers-trib, Ellie tracks her down, frees her first, then fighting against her in combat, almost drowning her (Ellie also looses 2 fingers) only to just let her go afterward. What the Game of Thrones Season 8 **** is this???.

    In the end Ellie ends up alone, unable to play guitar, and wanders off into the wilderness. I can't describe in words how utterly disappointed I am in a game that "could" have become one of the best games ever made. The only reason for the 3 points is the graphics (which are astonishing) and the gameplay which is fun but only as Ellie. (still feels like the same as from 2013).

    If you want to play a game that feels like the last of us, It's worth buying but if you came for the story. You'd be better off watching season 8 of Game of Thrones than with this ****    … Expand

    Graphics are great, Shooting is still the same. It becomes repetitive really quick and becomes boring.

    But the Story? Wow this is just a petty revenge game with no payoff. They took 7 years to come up with this? Hell even Batwoman has a better storyline than this. I would rather watch the Last Jedi than play this game.

I am writing this review as I have just beaten the game I am honestly physically hurting from playing the last of us 2 I went into the last of us 2 hoping it would be better than what most people were saying I was god wrong this game is beyond horrible there are no words for how bad this game is the gameplay itself is solid but I cannot fathom how this game was even put out considering the story and how awfully the characters are written this game should not have been made honestly they should've just kept it with the last of us 1, lets start with the characters 1:ellie she is no longer an interesting character they made no effort to have her change except "joel you should've let them kill me at the hospital!!!!!!!" dina:she literally has like 5 lines in the game she was wasted potential joel and tommy are still exactly the same except joel gets treated dirty and dies within 2 HOURS of the games beginning completely heartbreaking how they just kill him off like that. abby:awful character her motives literally make no sense joel shot and killed her dad in the hospital cause he wouldn't give him ellie so she tracks down tommy and joel and brutally slowly and mercilessly tortures joel then gets mad at ellie for trying to kill her because she "lEt hEr liVe" like you murdered basically her dad and now she comes back for revenge??? like who would expect someone to do that. the ending is the worst video game ending in history ellie rescues abby then says "im not letting you leave" and they fight for like 5 minutes and ellie just drowns her hops off then lets her leave the game tries to justify ellie doing that by showing a flashback of her and joel sitting on a porch drinking coffee but instead of getting revenge for the murder of joel she just simply lets them go theres a difference between letting go of the past and just letting a murderer live basically what the end says to me is "we are lazy take this ending as ellie letting go of the past and not letting revenge consume her" but in reality its just a huge slap in the face to people who grew up with and played the last of us 1 completely utterly awful ending. graphically the game is pretty the boat and horse sections are cool and some of the puzzles are alright half of the game takes place in a rainy setting which kinda sucks but it was still pretty looking the end was espescially pretty looking with the sun being out it definitely makes for a happier mood for the game. in my last words I hope naughty dog just makes the most of what they have now and just learn from there mistakes and never hire neil druckmann again and continue on for a more brighter path maybe another uncharted game will bring the love back for naughty dog but to me this game is a travesty to everyone who played the last of us 1 and any other naughty dog game and I don't know if il ever purchase another naughty dog product I probably will but I don't know if il spend a full 60 like I did on this game but I think naughty dog will hopefully bounce back after this game and continue back where they were after uncharted 4 (I think?) the game they released before they announced the last of us 2 I sincerely hope they don't continue to dig a hole for themselves by sponsoring this game and misleading people about what the game is really about. this game truly had potential maybe they will make a DLC that clears some things up and continues parts of the story that people didn't like I give this game a 1 the only reason it gets a one is because of the gameplay mechanics and graphics without all that its a zero i would not recommend this game at a 60 dollar price at all not even a 20$ price i actually would recommend replaying the last of us 1 or replaying the entire uncharted series cause this game has left a horrid taste in my mouth that needs to be removed with good naughty dog games… Expand
