    Probably one of the worst stories ever told in any medium, Neil Drukmans focus is to teach the audience to think a certain way instead of entertain. Injecting your political views into entertainment is certainly allowed and essential in some aspects but the way Neil crafts this story feels like a 14 year old Antifa members fan fiction. Despite the forced political agenda, the writing andProbably one of the worst stories ever told in any medium, Neil Drukmans focus is to teach the audience to think a certain way instead of entertain. Killing off one of the main characters from the first game in the first two hours without concrete justification is lazy writing. Neil will never listen to the negative reviews because he thinks to himself "These bigoted sandwiches just don't understand my game" Mainstream liberal games media will review this game with high praise but start to think for yourself.     Tlou2 es un juego totalmente distinto al primero, realmente pensaron que iba hacer igual? una historia basada en amor? claramente no. La parte 2 refleja venganza y odio, te lleva a muchas emociones, desde la felicidad, tristeza, impotencia e incomodidad, qué juego logra eso realmente?.
    Técnicamente el juego es perfecto, excelentes gráficas, ambiente, animaciones y música, es una experiencia que solo se puede entender al experimentarla y no dejarse llevar por comentarios de gente que solo se basó en spoilers y que llegaron sólo a la parte de Abby jajajaja.
    La historia está muy bien hecha, no había otra manera de mostrar ambas realidades, sáquense el estereotipo de juegos que tienen en la cabeza y solo disfruten, valió cada segundo que jugué.

    This is the first time I review a game, usually I don't care about reviews but I feel like I need to help because this User Score is far from reality (3.9 atm) and anyone reading this needs to know that this game is a MUST. I gave it a 9 because is an almost perfect game, amazing gameplay, ZERO bugs, fluid combat, excellent story, good characters and at the end left me speechless for 10This is the first time I review a game, usually I don't care about reviews but I feel like I need to help because this User Score is far from reality (3.9 atm) and anyone reading this needs to know that this game is a MUST.     I must say that I did not play, did not watch streams / walkthroughs of the first TLOU. TLOU 2 is almost perfect in everything: pleasant gameplay, fights and their staging, well-designed locations; seriously, I have not seen a single game where the locations would be so diverse and with so many details. So the question is, how can you make the game’s so miserable plot and mutilate oldI must say that I did not play, did not watch streams / walkthroughs of the first TLOU. TLOU 2 is almost perfect in everything: pleasant gameplay, fights and their staging, well-designed locations; seriously, I have not seen a single game where the locations would be so diverse and with so many details. So the question is, how can you make the game’s so miserable plot and mutilate old characters that people love so much that even I sat with Spanish shame from all it? I adhere to the fact that this is all just a crazy fanfiction of Neil Druckmann and Anita Sarkeesian. But to my great regret, the studio simply does not have the courage to admit the project as unsuccessful and, for example, to reissue the second part with a new plot. One can only hope that they will not develop the third part, or stop following the SJW community (which does not even play games), Neil gets off the crocodile (or what does he accept there?) and releases an adequate third part. Although even if we hope for the most positive, then the **** with which they smeared the first part and the fans just can not be washed away even by the ideal in the whole third game.

    By the way, Anita Sargsyan writes about the fanfiction of the TLOU dissatisfied with the plot of the continuation(crossed out) funfiction: “And honestly I'm putting aside that they haven't even played the game yet and have been hyped through all the years of released teasers. They just wanna be mad. They are sad. They probably hate themselves. Sorry they lost most of me there. But, to then have to play the Hanibol Lector, Adolph Hitler (Abby) character was the final straw. Great graphics. I have a high end tv and the scenery and presentation was really good. Too bad story wasn't as good. I ordered the collectors edition from Amazon back in September. Total regrets. About 180$ with tax. Will never play it again. Someone mod it and have Ellie smash the monster Abbie PLEASE.… Expand

Not a fan of a playing a "Last of Us" game that has you play as other characters that are not Joel/Ellie. Months before this game was release, when it was mention that this is Ellie's game, I was on board with it, even if it was a bummer for me because I had in mind to play as Joel more, but whenI have no beef with gender identity people.     El juego es excelente en el apartado técnico por sus altos valores de producción. En lo que respecta a la historia a mi me ha gustado pero si puedo entender porque al resto de gente le disgusta.     I couldn’t even get through the first half of the game without being overtaken by my pure disappointment in this horrible story. It’s horribly written and makes no sense 10 hours of the game don’t even relate to the initial story. I decided to cut the game in half and watch the rest that I didn’t play via a stream. Gotta day I’m glad I didn’t play anymore of it.

    Так сильно я еще не ошибался. Мне не жаль потраченного времени, тем более мне не жаль потраченных денег (в конце концов, художники, нарисовавшие прекрасную графику должны что-то есть) - мне жаль потраченных нервов. Не могу сосчитать количество моментов, когда я либо пробивал себе голову от лютых фейспалмов от тупости поведения персонажей, либо орал в телек, что так не может быть.

    Что меня разочаровало больше всего:

    -Сюжет. А точнее, его отсутствие. С такой завязкой сносной концовки просто не могло случиться. Если бы Элли убила Эбби в конце - это была бы банальная история о мести. Но она хотя бы принесла моральную разрядку игрокам. Если бы не убила - мы и так видим результат в оценках игроков и всеобщем негодовании.
    -Персонажи. Поведение персонажей просто противоречит здравому смыслу. Начиная от начала игры, где Джоэл просто выдает всю информацию незнакомцам, при этом даже не ожидая засады (что в корне противоречит характеру персонажа и тому, ПОЧЕМУ этот персонаж так долго живет в мире пост-апокалипсиса), заканчивая концовкой игры, где Элли щадит Эбби.
    Это не история о ненависти и прощении. Это история о тупости.
    -Однообразный и затянутый геймплей. Игра не изменилась ни на йоту. Это все та же TLoU 2013го года. Боты все такие же тупые. Зомби все такие же раздражающие. Головоломки все так же вызывают зевоту и желание скорее с ними покончить. Игру просто неинтересно проходить.
    -Эбби. И нет, мне плевать на то, как она выглядит, и что она сделала. Не плевать мне на то, что персонаж - пустой болванчик, которого вплели в сюжет, чтобы создать конфликт, который ни к чему не привел. Сегмент за нее точно так же не имеет никакого смысла, кроме растягивания продолжительности игры, и не раскрывает персонажа совершенно никак.

    Что мне понравилось:
    -Превосходная картинка.
    -Звук
    -Игра актеров. Пусть из их рта и вылетал дикий бред, но бред этот был самозабвенный и не вызывал чувства, что актер отрабатывает повинность. Говорю я сейчас об англоязычной версии, ибо проходил я игру именно в ней.

    Пусть Нил Дракман и думает, что создал очень обсуждаемую игру за счет того, что в ней присутствуют controversial персонажи и сюжетные повороты. На деле это не так.
    Игра просто пустая и я чертовски удивлен тому, насколько студия упала в грязь лицом, создав такой проект. Никто не обсуждает сюжет за его глубину, неоднозначность и "О боже, там есть лгбт персонажи". Обсуждают игру за ее поверхность и полное отсутствие идеологии.    … Expand

    Without giving anything away this sequel is a gargantuan disappointment. Games are more than the sum of its parts, and the parts here are overwhelmingly bad. The good stuff is incredible and some of the best out there: graphics, voice acting and physics. However, the 90's animation when the game is not in 'movie mode' (i.e. backwards crouch walking, jumping animation from stand still etc)Without giving anything away this sequel is a gargantuan disappointment. Games are more than the sum of its parts, and the parts here are overwhelmingly bad. The good stuff is incredible and some of the best out there: graphics, voice acting and physics. The actions leading up to Joel's death are highly illogical. It is very obvious that it was just a shock value ploy to have a story. Granted him dying and being a driving force in a quest for vengeance isn't an awful idea. The way it was handled was just plain lazy. The rest of the story isn't completely awful but the ending is absolutely the worst. She goes through all of that just to let the murderer live. There's no way anyone would do that. It is just a pathetic attempt to copy the gut punch end to the first game. Nice try guys but piss poor effort. I won't be buying another game from this studio and I suggest anyone that is still curious to just watch someone stream it.… Expand

    GOTY!!!! This is actually the best game I have ever played on PS4. Naughty Dogs took a huge risk ans they litteraly killed it. The mix between forgiveness and vengeance makes it even more interesting. Bad reviews are made by haters lmao

    I don't claim to understand most of the major decisions in the games storytelling, but I believe that's the objective. It doesn't want to come across as a story that has a person controlling it. It wants to be a soul crushing as possible to reinforce the fact that anything can happen to anyone at any time. It leaves you with a massive sense of unease for the safety of the characters you love.

    I hear a lot points made about the feeling of having some sort of agenda forced on to you. I didn't feel that at all. If you have a problem with two women/men kissing and being in a loving relationship, then I would ask you to leave the 1900's and catch up to the rest of us in 2020.

My understanding of the game is that it is not actually trying to teach us that revenge is wrong, but instead, showing how it affects Ellie and how she doesn't know how to let it go since she is still very young and has born in a violent world which no one have taught her the principles we know. We in real life are used to such stories and most of us know what is wrong and what's not, it doesn't happen to Ellie because in her world she don't have what we have in ours. That is why I don't think the game was teaching us that revenge is not good, we already know that, but showing how a young character in such environment copes with all of those feelings.


    Talking about the plot points and decisions, I wouldn't change what happened but I'd change how it happened. For example: Giving Joel more screen time; developing better the Abby's hunt for Joel; some of the conveniences that happens on the script and MAYBE add the option of choose what it would happen to Abby, just to satisfy the hunger of those who wants to see her dead, even though it won't be canon if a part 3 comes out.

    Anyway, I still liked and enjoyed the game even if I do not agree with how some things happened on the story. The game is definitely worth playing, and honestly it don't deserve such low rates and hating.    … Expand

When I first completed the game I had mixed emotions there is no doubt that the visuals are stunning and just the feeling of playing as Ellie after waiting so long was great but upon reflection I realised The last of us 2 is an unorganised, nonsensical , bat **** crazy mess that forces its players into situations they don’t want to be in. The fact you have to play as the character who literally kills the guy you spent the entirety of the first game getting to know and love for 10+ hours is just horrific, I found myself asking aloud when I was going to be able to return to playing as Ellie not knowing that I would have to wait a painfully large amount of time. On top of this, things like when Ellie violently kills Nora who had very little involvement in the death of Joel yet chooses to spare Abby is just nonsense surely it would be the other way around. From the perspective of only a fan who’s favourite game of all time is the original last of us, the way naughty dog have spat in the face of their player base by certain members of their team choosing to accuse fans of being mysoginistic or homophobic etc . for simply not agreeing with the story is once again wrong. It may sound like I utterly hated this game which is not true there were definitely parts of the game which reminded me of why I loved the first one so much all be it they were the parts that didn't involve Abby but overall the game just disappointed me I felt like a kid at Christmas the night before release as I managed to carefully avoid any spoilers which we all know there were plenty of prior to release but when I awoke expecting an PS4 underneath the tree there was in fact a Soulja boy console sitting there… Expand

    Good graphics, but the game lost its soul. I didn't feel like I was in TLOU world, not to mention the awful choices the director made. it completely ruined the game. this had a lot of potentials. What saddens me is what now? I'm left with this huge void, there is no closure in this game...pfff

I largely feel the overly positive reviews are based on the players political views, which anyone not heavily left will likely take issue with something here, just like the overly negative ones, this divisional stance the writers took is why my score is so low as I feel this is an extremely poor tactic to take. The first game did not have this issue, it was largely a story of personal struggle and growth of Joel set to a virus outbreak. This game relies so heavily on political flavor of the week that its story is 2 dimensional if those ideals don't align with your own. Thats not going to bring anyone over to your side, though I'd argue that a game is not the place to make such broad arguments as a form of escapism people don't want this stuff shoved in their face from every angle. OK so on to the actual game, it plays well and looks fantastic, though the gameplay has seen no upgrade or change other then a character/gender swap of the MC, which honestly for a game made in 2013 I was expecting some new mechanics especially since Elly is smaller and weaker then Joel. The lack of any online component is fine by me as ND games are story driven and don't need it, but if an online mode wasn't part of this game then why has so little time been dedicated to improving or tweaking the core mechanics? There are other cheap/cheesy things done here such as Druckman scanning himself into the game as yet another poorly driven plot point. The last point I will make is regardless of your stance of right vs left no one and I say confidently NO ONE wanted a forced fully motion captured transsexual sex scene… Expand

Without needing to spoil anything, it's an add-on where they decide to piss everyone off by killing some folks we care about. Remember The Force Awakens where Kylo kills Han? It's pretty much exactly like that. It feels like we're playing a fan made effort and the kids have decided to break all the toys simply because they can.

    The game is gorgeous, it really is. The problem is that it's so obsessed with discussing social topics that it feels like they forgot where the beauty was in the first one. The first one had more said by doing in silence than two characters ever really interacting. The giraffes come to mind - there is a sense of wonder and peace for a moment when the giraffes are found, and then the player can optionally interact with them which will cause some dialogue. Or you just ignore the giraffes. Or maybe you make the choice to observe them at a distance. The choice is ultimately the players about if they should talk or not, but the beauty is there and presented in silence.

    Somehow, this misses the point entirely. It feels rushed, which is strange considering how much time this spent in development. There was more in the scenes which was left unsaid than was said. And that problem carries forward to all the other aspects of this game. The social aspects are pretty much rammed down our throat. There no option not to simply "look at the giraffes" and instead we're forced to look. Instead of having a tender, caring moment in the presence of something we hold as majestic, we're forced to watch as two characters bang the crap out of each other instead of make love or enjoy each others presence. Frankly, the boat scene doesn't even make much sense, while we're calling this out. We go from a fistfight to... pretty much (forced?) anal sex. What happened? Is this rape? I was confused.

    The pacing problems hold fast through the rest of the game too. The formula holds almost entirely true of walk-shoot-talk and each encounter ends up blending into the next one. This isn't great - it means the locations are too generic and I stopped caring about the characters somewhere along the way. There's a lot of "pile of stuff" shootouts which occur along the way but aside of minor theme changes, they just aren't that interesting. But we have to do them anyway because the freedom like we had in the later part of the first game doesn't exist. Don't expect to sneak out of a tense firefight, you're going to kill everyone for dubious reward.

    Finally - who are these people? I definitely feel like characters are either foils and party favors or they're "developed", but that development is oftentimes contrived or feels forced or delusional. I don't really see how the moral choices for some of these folks have gotten them from A to B. Sometimes there's leaps of logic or faith which make me suspect I've missed some random clue somewhere I was supposed to find for a big reveal, or perhaps skipped some bit of talking by accident. While I don't really hate anyone for mindlessly killing someone I'm dear to from the first game, I don't love anyone either. It just feels like those Star Wars movies everyone tries to ignore. All the stageplay is there, but the writing is just bad.    … Expand

Los personajes no son flojos o vacios, puede que no tengan el mismo sistema etico que el anterior, pero eso es por que la historia es totalmente diferente. Los personajes se mantienen en su oscuridad y son lo sufinientemente realistas hasta el punto en el que pueden serlo, como dije antes, The Last of Us 1 no es la parte 2 son historias que mantienen una relacion, mas no son iguales. Here is the sad part, the story, as much as I wanted to paint this game worthy because it's. the sequel, I would have to trust my emotions here because I feel cheated and not to mention false advertisement wherein they showed clips that is supposedly Joel, but in reality, it's not. We have risen ND on a pedestal of a saintly status and have given them our love, our fanarts, our money - and have kept them relevant.
    And what have we been told? We don’t get to choose our favourites and we should not expect any fan service. Really?... Well then don’t expect any fandom service in return.
    My final rating conclusion:
    10 points for the talented team
    0 points for the writing
    - makes a total of 5.
    Minus 1 point for the fact that this is a story driven game and ND had enough time to work out major plot holes and simply write ANY better story.
    Minus another 1 point for the deceptive marketing, misleading trailers and awful attitude towards the fandom.
    Here we go, honest rating of 3 points. No fandom kudos included.

    I celebrate the LGBT themes finally finding representation in the Video Game community. (Even though it was awkwardly executed)
    As a feminist, I was also celebrating the character of Abby the very first second I saw her. She had so much potential to become a loved, unique and stereotype crushing Legend of a female character, but the writers failed her as well.    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
