    Excellent craftsmanship, truly a dev team at the top of its game. Thought-provoking, stylish, punishingly brutal storytelling, and apparently the bane of edgelords everywhere. So that's a bonus! About to start my second go-round.

People pissed because they killed Joel and had to play Abby? Get over youself. If you don't pick a side (even though it's hard af not to) then it's much more enjoyable. I was extremely sad when Joel died but it was necessary for the story. And I was extremely skeptical when I had to play as Abby but her side of the story is sooo well done!! People complaing about the game pushing an LGBTQ+ agenda on people obviously have other problems going on in their brain so those opinions do not **** matter. It's rare to find a game that makes you feel conflicted, sad, remorseful, horrified, happy and scared. This game lets you see the other side of things in such a good way! This is the G.O.A.T. of video games and it's insane that people are writing it off because of Joels death or Abby being a playable character for half the game. And OMG, the amount of people that played 7ish hours of the game, decided they didn't like that Joel died or how he died so they stopped playing and watched the ending online is absolutely ridiculous. You're missing out on sooooo much context. The whole point of it was to show you the other side of the story and yeah that has been done before, sure, but it has never been done this well. Who tf watches a movie, decides that they don't like the beginning so they skip to the end and see the ending without context and decides it's crap? You didn't watch the movie, you've seen less than a quarter of it. Who starts a tv series, watches the first episode, decides they don't like that someone died and then skips to the final episode of the series and decides they don't like it? Are you kidding me? The fact that people are doing it with a masterpiece of a game and acting like their opinion on it matters is ridiculous. I guarantee the majority of the low scores are a mix people that did that, trolls, and bigots who are mad about LGBTQ+ characters. Yes, there will be a select few that just did not enjoy the game because it's not their type of game and that I can respect. But play the whole game!     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. good things first game came out early and it is done. no bugs or game breaking glitches. also the game looks great land scape shoots are amazing to take in. game play is smooth and clean but reputative and that wouldn't be a problem if the story made you want to progress watch it dose not. Every time it switched to Abby I wanted to turn the game off at the same time Elie wasn't that fun to play with either. by hour 5 I felt like I was just doing chorus and I just wanted the game to be over but I stuck in there to see if this story had anything up its sleeve. At the end of my play threw I really truly wish I just turned of the game at hour 4 and got my money back. It is a tale told by an idiot full of sound and fury signifying nothing… Expand

El final es muy malo, te pasas todo el juego matando a gente para que luego en el final cogan y hagan que ellie perdone a la persona que mató a una persona que era como un padre para ella.     What's wrong with you ND? You have been so good in story telling, making art of all the games you have made, you have been promoting diversity and inclusiveness it was working so good, so goood... until TLOUPII.
    For me this game looks like some miserable attempt to force you to make changes that you did not want to. It's like you were struggling between "yes!, finally we can make this game" and on the other hand "but remember there's a price - this checklist you must stick to..." It looks like there was too much talking and not enough working, not enough cooperating... Did something divided your team?...

    Technicals, music, climate, graphics, locations and creatures are a masterpiece. I loved the guitar, I loved most of the cutscenes, I loved that you introduced different threads and characters (at least most of them). I read all the notes and letters etc.
    But I cannot accept fake stories and stupid ideas.

    Something strange started when you released the Lost Legacy and goes worse and worse since then. It's like you hate all living creatures (including people). Stop!

    I'm giving you rate of 0 to wake you up!
    I've been playing games for more than 20 years.. Please never ever do that again... In the meantime I will try to forget what happend with the game.

    p.s. get rid of all the distractors and say goodbye to the game-grinches.

Но есть вопросы к сюжету и поворотам. Я считаю концовку незакончиной. Эли отпускает Джоела и т д но куда она пошла. За Диной? Неизвестно. В интервью от разработчиков о финале не говорится. Да он открыт на случай ДЛС и 3 части. И конец с Эбби где Эли её отпускает. Это говорит что Эли успокаевается и отпускает её. Дина. Она ушла потому что она подумала что Эли за чертой после которой уже нельзя спости человека по этому она уезжает с фермы. Слова из интервью. Я считаю это крайне спорно и ещё есть очень много спорных моментов но игру я считаю для себя Игрой года. Очень реалистичная и не добрая. Есть моменты но грустных и печальных больше. Мне игра очень понравилась и я буду ждать ДЛС и если будет 3 части. Да это будет нескоро но я очень буду ждать. Друзья если вам не нравится игра- это ваше мнение но не ведите ь на обзорщиков которые её хейтят. У каждого своё мнение и его нужно уважать. И не надо ненавидит игру из за показа сексуальные меньшинстве. В игре вполне нормальная любовная линия. Не идеальная но и не ужасная. И в конце. Все негодуют из за сюжета. Он не идеален. Он вполне хорошь. Не могут Ноти Дог сделать лучше чем уже есть на данный момент. Это тоже из интервью. Они раскрыли персонажей, сделали любовные линии, сделали привязанности. В начале я ненавидел персанажа Эбби но потом оказалось что она тоже мстит и в итоге Эли отпускает Эбби не из-за слабости а из-за уважения к Джоелу и к Эбби ибо насилие поражает насилие. И Эли отпускает Джоела после концовка завараживает и даёт почву для интереса и размышления. Я никого не прошу менять точку зрения. Всё равно много гневных отзывов от людей которые даже не играли в игру. Мне просто жалко проект. И из-за этих диванных критиков 3 часть или ДЛС могут не выйти. Я бы поставил 9 из 10 но 1 часть была дополнина плюс меня порадовалапроработка Эли с её синдромом выжившего и постравмотическим синдромом. На этом всё. The fact that "professional video-gaming media" loves this game doesn't mean that the general public would like it, I personally think that trying to include politics into the game have led to take bad decisions when telling the story, if they had focused on developing the stories without including all the political crap and the trends that the mainstream media and SJ Ws pulled out last year I think it could've been received better by the fan base. I played the first one in PS3 and then in PS4 even though it was a good game I wasn't in love with it like the media, with this one I'm not even wasting my money.… Expand

Ok, so I will start off by saying I did NOT spend MY money to play this game, my cousin bought it and we spent a weekend and knocked it out, so this does affect my overall thoughta. I'm going to start with the pros- The game is gorgeous, and the physics are amazing. Pretty much the only pros. Cons- the story is very lacking, and the killing off the main character from the first game has a whole bunch of issues around it. While they use a guise of a revenge plot that carries through the whole game, as someone who played last of us a week before release to get refreshed, the problems with the way it was approached become very apparent. Ignoring all the agenda pushing comments, as that value is different for everyone, mymain problem is Joel is killed much too early, and the character he is replaced with is so new to the point where it makes me WANT to dislike her. I would definitely reccomend playing the game, but do so if you do not have to pay for it, or it is on an extreme sale. 60 dollars for a good looking, but awful story is not worth it. Pick it up for 20 bucks or less down the road and save your money for the new consoles and games that come out that will be infinitely much better this winter!!!!!… Expand

    The only things I liked about this game are the improvements in the graphics and combat environment. But those things cannot be compare with how the story was ruined!! Joel been killed just in the beginning of the game! The most important character in the franchise and the reason why we loved the game and the father/daughter relationship that dragger many gamers to love the story, and simply Neil destroy all of this because of what?? Getting rid of Joel just to switch the story to a gay propaganda?
    What is wrong with you?? and the none sense ending of Ellie forgiven Abby because of a flashback!

Геймплей порадовал на 10 баллов, такова яРазработчики порадовали на Урррра!!! Захватывающий экшн, который не даёт тебе расслабиться, а как только расслабишься, жди неждан!!! Прошёл игру за 36 часов 30 минут, с достижением ачивок на 54% за одно прохождение, ачивки не сложные, но необходимо внимательность, терпение и желание к исследованию локаций! Мультиплеера в игре нет, что удивило.... Хотя можно всегда и в 1 части поиграть в неё, вспомнить истоки так сказать. Der Anfang des Spiels bot dem Spieler einen leichten Einstieg, die Mitte des Spiels hielt sich etwas jumpscare lastiger. Das Ende war unerwartet und dennoch versteckt sich darin eine Botschaft, welche die wenigsten verstehen. Es geht darum zu verzeihen, und somit ein friedliches Ende zu finden bevor alles zerbricht. Im Spiel haben wir gesehen wie Ellie zu spät verzeihe und dadurch zerbrach ihr privates Leben mit Dina. Allgemein hat das Spiel eine anschauliche Welt mit vielen Möglichkeiten und wegen welche es zu erkunden gilt. Jedes Kapitel der Story hat offene und geschlossene Bereiche. The story is well written so far, the gameplay is tight, exciting, terrifying, and immersive. The environments are so well realized it’s hard to comprehend. I was walking through the barn in Jackson and could actually smell it, that’s how much detail they put into the world... Anyone who has a problem with the social themes get over yourself. The game doesn’t force anything down your throat or anything close to that, it’s just part of the story in the game and there is nothing wrong with that whatsoever. If you have a problem with this in 2020, get an education and try again. This game is so easily a 9 out of 10 at minimum based on what I’ve seen so far.     A huge disappointment. I can't believe I've waited for this utter trash for so long. The plot, the characters that we loved? All ruined. The game has good graphics, however, not gonna lie. The graphics alone though cannot make me love the game. Who would have thought?
    I doubt I'm gonna buy any more games from Naughty Dog as long as Neil Duckman is in charge.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Overall I enjoyed this game. I understand some of the issues people are having with the story, but I think the criticism has been overblown. The sequel to the first game was always most likely going to revolve around the repercussions of Joel's actions at the end of The Last of Us. Given the stretch of the first game where you get to play as Ellie, I always expected her to be the main protagonist of the second game. I felt Joel's death was sadly the best way to make sure this was Ellie's game. My biggest problem was actually the structure and pacing rather than the story itself. I wish they had jumped back and forth between Ellie and Abby's perspectives between chapters from the start rather than throwing Abby's full storyline into the middle of the game. If our introduction to the character had been her spending time with her dad and then finding him dead in the aftermath of Joel's rampage, then the player would see the her in a more sympathetic light from the beginning. Instead our first real experience with Abby is her brutally killing Joel immediately after he and Tommy save her life. This is the problem with all of the WLF characters. When Abby's storyline builds up the character arcs and relationships with Owen, Mel, Nora, and the others, the player already knows their fates. This acted as a barrier to actually becoming invested in them as characters, since I already knew they would be dead. Because there is a hard break when we transition to Abby's storyline, it completely breaks the momentum of the 10+ hours of gameplay that proceeds it. We go through the entirety of Abby's playable arc knowing where we are going to end up, so there was little incentive to get invested in the how. The player spends the whole arc wanting to rush through to see how the stand off in the theater is resolved.
    The structural issues with the storytelling are even harder to get past because Abby isn't ever a distinctly relatable or likable character. We see her grappling with anger, but there's no real remorse or guilt. We never really see Abby questions what her actions say about her morality or how she can see herself as any better than Joel. Her romantic arc with Owen is more distraction than character development because we know he is going to die. Her arc with Lev is her most redeeming sequence, and it seems out of character with everything we see from her in the events leading up to it. Liking dogs and being scared of heights are fine as character notes, but they aren't nearly enough to make the player willing to forgive her murdering the protagonist of the first game. She is a pseudo protagonist lacking in emotional depth or clear motivations once Joel has been killed.
    All that being said, I still enjoyed the game. The visuals are beautifully done, and the setting is as engaging and anxiety inducing as the first game. If you enjoyed the game play of the first game, then you should enjoy it in part 2 because it hasn't changed much. There are minor wrinkles, such as the search dogs, stalkers, and the ability to craft silencers, that make the encounters feel a bit more varied and immersive than the first game. Overall the gameplay experience is still quite similar to the first game, maybe to a fault. Given how much time has passed since the first installment, I was a bit disappointed there wasn't a more noticeable difference. There is one section early in the game that is semi-open world, where Ellie is able to explore a section of Seattle building by building more or less at the player's leisure. That may have been my favorite stretch of the game, and I wish more of the gameplay had been structured that way.
    I found the dynamic between Joel and Ellie to be the most memorable element of the first game, as did most players. I thought the flashback sequences featuring the two characters in Part 2 lived up to the original game and were some of the best parts of this game. With their inclusion, I actually came away pretty satisfied with Joel's role and presence in the game. I'm not really sure what people were expecting.
    Overall The Last of Us Part 2 had too many flaws to live up to its predecessor, but I still really enjoyed it. Revisiting the characters of Joel and Ellie was still one of my most enjoyed gaming experiences of the year, and I would recommend The Last of US Part 2 to anyone who enjoyed the first game.    … Expand

    The graphics and the voice acting in this game is definitely great. Though there is not a lot of improvement in gameplay, it was only a few new things that you can do. The story though started great, but after that one scene, it went all downhill. Overall, there are a few good things about this game that can't be denied, but the story makes it hard and unbearable to play.

The game isn't bad and I certainly think it doesn't deserve as much hate as it gets but it could have been better and hopefully naughty dog learns from this. so far this is the first or maybe 2nd failure that I've encountered from the naughty dog. I still think they are a great game company and that Neil Druckman is a good director but sadly this time around he shot and missed but that shouldn't mean we should **** on him. the game while not as good as the first was still good to me. if it were a stand-alone game I feel it would have done much better but since it was a sequel to a beloved game it is getting much more hate than it deserves in my opinion. I have never been so depressed from a video game like this before and I guess that's what naughty dog was going at. The story feel very much like those movies that win Oscars but no one ever watched. It has that European style of story telling, and many people don't like that, and I get it. I personally feel the story was done well for the most part. Unfortunately, Joel died too early with no explanations, making you wait for 15 hours and well into half of the game. They start Abby's story with a bad taste in your mouth with the way she killed Joel and that leave so little to emphasize with her through the game. However, her bond with Yara and Lev is great. It makes her character much like Joel, someone who did bad things but through her connection with kids and ultimately saving them, she finds peace with the death of her father, something that revenge didn't do for her. In a way Lev is Ellie and Abby is Joel. Ellie has do decide whether she can end the revenge cycle and choose the outcome for her self and not for Joel. There are also many foreshadowing scattered throughout the game. Ultimately, this game is a survivor horror through and through. The gameplay is satisfying in moment to moment combat, but the animation do get repetitive torwards the end because of how lengthy this game is. It took me 38 hours to beat it. This game also has great level design and every place feels organic. The visuals again look amazing and the the music is on par with the first game. The voice acting here is top notch with some of the best side characters. Overall this is a great game. It aims high and tries to go big, and perhaps it does to many things at once. The first game did great because it was simple but yet so effective in it's story telling. If the first game was a masterpiece, this is close to that. Hopefully you will give it a shot.… Expand

    I believe some of you were excited to see Riley in all this as much as I was? :(

    Lets start my review...The graphics was MIND-BLOWING . The combat and violence was BRILLIANT especially when they screamed and all had names. And gameplay was frustrating but GREAT, however, i felt it was very limited. Most the time your remerging through empty dark buildings or walking down empty streets than killing bad guys and girls or even zombies. There was alot less zombies even though at times they were hard, i still wanted to see alot more. Alot of places could have been filled with both humans and zombies which were left empty. There was alot more cutscenes which left me having no control of the situations and having to go with what the outcomes were.

    NOW..the story was the most disheartening. I HATED how Ellie treated Joel throughout. Then?
    After seeing Joels death? (which i believe felt extremely out of place and quickly done last minute with lack of understanding and dialogue) I was completely put off. I didn't want to play it anymore but i did with PURE vengeance. I had small hope to play as Ellie only to find Abby. Instead? I got to play less of Ellie and when the switch happened? I sold the game. I didnt bother with it. I later checked on youtube the ending and it was more insulting like Joel’s death wasnt enough of an insult. ELLIE LET GO OF ABBY? After Ellie kills everyone in her way RIGHTFULLY as they were part of Joels gang murder? ELLIE LETS GO OF ABBY?..Despite this, Ellie felt bad? What about all the scars Ellie killed? Or the WLF? Why did Ellie ONLY feel bad to kill the ones who deserved to be killed?? The character emotions confused me completely. I didn’t feel any emotions when I killed the dogs, killed Nora with a steel pipe and stabbed that pregnant woman. I believe the game tries to make u feel bad for killing the dogs when u play as Abby??? i don’t understand what Neil was thinking to even believe anyone would be happy to play as Abby and see shes some how not the bad person? Just because she saved a kid called Lev who happened to be a trans who kills his own mother for not accepting him???? This game tries making you turn against Ellie for killing these people Abby cares about. Well listen to this..NOBODY CARES ABOUT ABBY OR HER STORY TO JUSTIFY JOELS BRUTAL VILE GANG MURDER!!!! So why the hell did Neil put Abby’s story as part of the game? And 70% of it? We don't feel anything for her. WE CANT and neither did we want to. This was weak....In fact...Abby should have gotten over Joel killing her dad instead of expecting Ellie to let go of how Abby and her gang did after witnessing it? ABBY DIDNT WITNESS JOEL KILLING HER DAD THOUGH. She should have Forgiven Joel after hearing him out. He didnt even get a chance to explain or even apologise. The game asked him to sacrific a daughter like figure in part 1? After he lost his own daughter? Nobody would sacrific for humanity. Even if he did, Wars between humans would still happen, probably worse. Fights would still happen, probably worse and even worse Gangs would have formed. What difference would it have made if Joel gave Ellie in?????? None. Last thing he needed at his age was another loss and this big armed Abby didnt even hear him out.

    To me..the game was 3/10 because the storyline was awful. The emotions were not there..dialogue was $€#% and VERY annoying at times like when Dina constantly saying “shall i do it? Do u need help?” As if Ellie was incapable...ABBY DOESNT EVEN TELL ELLIE THAT JOEL KILLED HER DAD..WHO WOULDNT SAY THAT?? Instead she goes “u killed my friends” why couldnt she say “joel killed my dad..now u killed my friends..i should have killed u all when i had the chance..but i gave u the chance to live and u wasted it!!” That would have clarified ALOT. That scene itself would have been it. Also that guy who spits on Joel? He looks like Neil Druckman..why would u do that.

    Why couldnt a part 2 be an Ellie and Joel game as part 1 was a Joel and Ellie..THEN part 3 could have been this one..there would have been alot more sense and understanding..we could have been introduced to Abby properly where we could have said “ooo $€%#...shes after us now!” Then we would have been excited as hell to play part 3 and be chased by this angry big armed woman. That way we would have atleast in Part 2 enjoyed playing as Ellie with Joel being by our side as well as having a much better storyline.

    Also ONE MORE THING. Jess’s death was the worst. He was another great character wasted!! He needs a DLC to get to Ellie and Tommy. His friends problems were his problem and he went out of his way for them. He was shot and nobody mentions his name ever again. What the hell was that??

    And out of this ALL? WHERE THE HELL WAS RILEY?

From the the realistically flawed human beings, to the gorgeous graphics that make you feel like you're controlling a real person in a very real world.     Graphics and Characters: 8/10. Some bugs here and there, nothing serious.
    Music/OST: 10/10. Santaolalla career is perfect. Any music sheet from his hands are a masterpiece.

    Don't misunderstand me but the plot its a mixture of LGTBI+ that nobody cares but still important to sell this Game quickly, vengeance not well grounded plus the murder of one of the most iconic characters in the last 10 years... All this in a story that doesn't feel connected and worked well from Naughty Dog.

    The introduction of new characters to the drama was intelligent until you kill Joel, and worst.... they forced us to play with that Character because not even Tommy or Dina are powerful characters to be played. (Damn... Dina as character and partner is useless as F***, only thinking in who's the next sugar mommy)

    The entire story doesn't feels good, in connection and continuity. They try to sell an inclusive game, trying to be "White Knight" of justice on this matter but, nobody cares!!! We're only wanted a good conclusion between Joel and Ellie cos' it's obvious (since the ending of TLoU) that she's gonna know the truth sooner or later about her story with the Fireflies and her immunity. For god sake... You simply destroyed a good story.

    About "Abby's Story"... Simply don't match with the game. I fell asleep 4 o 5 times with this part. I can comprehend that you want to introduce very well her reasons about "WHY" she kills Joel but... Her story it's more like a DLC than the main game itself. Not bad as all her story of course, but not for a main game for sure.

    This Title has incredible potential and i'd hope Naughty Dog launches very soon a HUGE DLC to compensate things.

    Joel deserves another ending, another conclusion to his life and his decisions... not be thrown away like this.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
