I get the trying to humanize her and all that, but 12 bloody hours is way too long. I didn’t buy the game because I hate Ellie so why would I want to play against her. The story was fine when it had to do with Ellie but other than that it was bad. Fine the background scenes were pretty, but the gameplay is the same as the first game. Oh wait they added some taller grass. Why isn’t there multiplayer? Don’t give me this we worked so hard crap, it’s been 7 years. Mate I could have created a game in that time, hell I fixed the story line with a few tweaks to abbys character in 10 min. Anyways not a great game, no real changes from the first in terms of gameplay, and the story was terrible. Joel dying is fine, even not killing Abby at the end alright, but making me play as her for half the game on a storyline that isn’t Ellie based f that. W… Expand

    there are people who really have nothing, therefore, they trust this type of stories, imagine that they were devastated.

    This game is perfect! Characters are amazing, all of them well explored, showing their personal reasons to believe whatever is right or wrong, making the player realize that there isn't an universal truth, it all depends on what you've seen and lived.

    I love the thirst game. What can can I tell about last of us part? This game is gorgeous! Gameplay, graphics, storytelling, all this aspects are so damn cool.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Just replayed TLOU1 and Left Behind 2 weeks ago, then finished this sequel during the weekend. I'll give 10 points to all the amazing graphics, level designs, some really cool cinematic moments and all the hard work people have put in making this game. But despite that, I'm giving a -10 for the poor story telling and for cheating us in the trailers.

    There are plot holes all over the game, and the actions of the main characters are simply not self-consistent. What Joel did at the end of the first game was selfish and horrible, but by sharing the same journey through the whole game, I can empathize with him. While in this sequel, I know and understand what the game is trying to tell me about revenge, but it just failed to make me empathize with the main characters and their choices. The closer I reach to the ending, the less feelings I have about this story. Just trying to see how it ends and get it over with. Similar feeling when I was watching the final season of Game of Thrones.

    I really wish this sequel never existed so I could keep the good memories on the fisrt game.    … Expand

    just finished the campaign, took me 4 days to even complete and i have to say, the game is absolutely beautiful and game play is a MASTERPIECE however the story is absolutely stupid. i did not like playing as the villan as they try to **** constantly try to make her seem as the victim, it pisses me off more how the developers are even more blind to the rants. Neil even said the game would be about Joel and Ellie, but instead its about abby and her naive story. it also sucks how games de-femanize females to make them "strong" when infact its the other way around. you can have boobs and still be strong. games with movements like this are almost calling themselves homophobes in a way. I hate that joel even saved her life, but she still ignored that. The story is a mess and i dont want to play as **** abby for 10 hours. Random ass character without any real decent backstory or likeable qualities.

    also realized i had trouble leaving a negative review. however i am able to, but when i leave a negative review it only bumps the positive scoring up... interesting.. hope a youtuber see's this and notices this and brings this to light ( Sorry new to english still :) )

The story doesn't work, I see what devs try to do, but the pacing, the choices that characters do conflict with what they where on the last game. The pacing showing Abby's backstory after they killed a beloved character and then making the player, play as her. It is a stupid choice in my opinion. The ending is trash because you make Ellie sacrifice his family, even his 2 fingers just to not finish the job. I recommend people to play another thing, or if you still wanna play it, wait for it to be on sale because this game is not worth 60 dollars.… Expand

No estoy en contra de la historia, pero hay que saber cuándo son los momentos indicados para lo que va a acontecer con cada personaje de la historia principal.     Having actually played the game. Unlike most of the troll reviews. It is a fitting and satisfying sequel to the original. An immersive story and game play experience that expanded on what was great about the original. Ignore the hate and for your own opinion and I think you'll find that you like it.

La jugabilidad es buena, buenos gráficos y excelente banda sonora, pero des afortunadamente no estamos jugando en un mundo abierto, nos rige una historia que por cierto es mala. Sumando que para adquirir el juego en América Latina son varios días de salario mínimo. No me queda mas que esperar el multijugador.
    Mi opinión no tiene un sueldo de por medio, soy un consumidor, el fin de producir un juego es que sea comprado por los jugadores.    … Expand

Сюжет мне так же понравился. Не особо понимаю почему его так люто поливают грязью. В основе заложена идея мести. И она абсолютно повсюду. У главных героев, второстепенных персонажей. Даже в записках можно проследить эту тему. И конец игры как раз показывает одну простую вещь - сможет ли человек живший долгое время этим чувством изменить свой выбор. Ибо месть крайне скользская дорожка как ни крути.
    Так же хотел бы добавить следующее. Несмотря на всю нелепость Ебби как персонажа я все же останусь на ее стороне. Ибо она за весь свой путь потеряла куда больше чем Элли. Отца и друзей. Весь мир по сути рухнул. А Элли потеряла только Джоэла. Тем более, Ебби ее дважды пощадила. А это говорит о том что она не такая уж и плохая. Думаю, окажись другой человек на ее месте, он бы без каких-либо раздумий убил бы Дину вспомнив что сделала Элли а потом и саму Элли так же добил. Ну и в конце она не хотела драться с Элли так как это было уже обыкновенное бессмысленное насилие. Она ее простила за все то что она сотворила. Думаю, если Элли не была бы ранена то она без каких-либо зазрений совести убила Ебби несмотря на то что там был пацан присмерти.
    Да и под конец самой игры Элли уже начала бесить своими излишними эмоциональными всплесками и непонятным юношеским максимализмом.
    Снимаю игре 2 балла за плохую интеграцию сексуальных меньшинств которые так и бьют своей нелепостью по лицу. Кроме этого, разочаровал ИИ который был очень туп в большинстве моментов. Можно было перед носом врагов проходить в наглую и они тебя не замечали.    … Expand

    El juego a nivel gráfico es espectacular, la mecánica del juego igual, la historia... si, tiene fallos, pero no tiene sentido ponerle un 0 porque mataron a cierto personaje, o sea, no mamen, ¿qué pedo con su argumento?

    I can say I enjoyed my time with the game, I avoided every trailer and spoiler as much as possible. I can't say I'm a fan of the other characters you get to play as, but I genuinely enjoyed my experience as a whole. I truly believe, if it weren't for those leaks back in April, the reception would have been a lot more positive. I'm glad the game still sold really well, despite the backlash.

I get why people are angry at the story, but it's not as bad as people are saying it is, yes one of the best characters dies early and in a weird way, but the story is really good. Sure, there maybe some directions that the story takes that aren't exactly what fans of the first game wanted, but the story they try to tell is well executed, love it or hate it. You could have college level discussions about the human experience based on this game alone. Sure, people are butthurt, but this is a fantastic game nonetheless and is hands down one of the best PlayStation exclusives of this generation. And whoever says this story is trash clearly haven't played most games that came out in the last 3-4 years. This is NOT Fallout 4/76, or even Mass Effect Andromeda level of bad. If you like the first one ignore the nay sayers and give the game a go.… Expand

This game is so lively that I completely immersed in it, I can not convey the full range of emotions and feelings that I experienced during the passage of this game. Данная игра настолько живая, что я полностью погрузился в неё, мне не передать весь спектр эмоций и чувств, которые испытал при прохождении данной игры. В какой-то момент я возненавидел Нила Дракмана (не саму игру!), но это было временное чувство, ведь итог получился потрясающим.
    Могу сказать, это произведение смогут понять не многие, оно состоит из очень мрачной и серьёзной темой для размышления. Но если вам не 16 лет и iq больше чем 10, то надеюсь, вы сможете понять и принять происходящее на экране. В итоге игра получилась потрясающей во всей её состовляющей. Но даже если вы не смогли понять сюжет, то эта игра не заслуживает оценки 0! Над ней работали 7 лет!!! Это титаническая работа и полностью оправданная за все эти годы!
    Так же это новый глоток воздуха в игровой индустрии, и я счастлив, что Naughty Dog пошли на такой риск и они, большие молодцы!    … Expand

This game looks great and plays better than the last, adding a few innovations to combat, and graphical fidelity that can be utilized by other devs. In terms of looking good, and sounding good this game is a 10. Where it fails is in establishing a cohesive, rational story. Expect flash backs inside of flash backs. I believe this game was pulled down by one man's ego, the director's, an ego that was fulled by sycophants in the industry, who think that games are a product for people pretending to be 'high art' connoisseurs--instead of the average gamer. The director, Druckmann, has made it clear that he doesn't care about the average gamer, and has stated many times that he hopes that said people hate the game, and not to expect even a modicum of fun, and or light as was found in the first. What you get is a shallow, predictable, and cliche story about revenge. A story that feels so different from the first, that it feels like a sad parody. Characters will be behaviorally unrecognizable, the pacing is off, don't expect to see giraffe's walking through the sunlight, and other such moments. Bruce Straley's influence is gone, and without anyone to balance him out, Druckmann's whims are on full display.

    What you get is a nihilistic, petulant, incongruous mess, that seems to have been designed as an insult to core fans. You will feel this in how npcs, and by extension your intelligence is treated by a game that does everything in its power to tell you that an unrepentant psychopath is the way forward for this series. Not to mention the meta aspect, where Druckmann is doing everything in his power, to convince twitter, that his inflated ego (he would call it his 'substantial IQ') is the best way forward for a once revered gaming company. We're talking about a guy who calls an awkwardly misplaced sex scene in the back of a dirty van, 'tasteful'. And yes, that's also what you get in this game.

    To summarize, The Last of Us Part II is so detached from what made the first game great, and lacking any respect for its past, fans will hardly recognize it. If you like pretentious, suffer porn, where you can set dogs on fire, this is the game for you.    … Expand

nos preguntamos por que joel tenia que morir asi y no de otra forma? . sabemos que joel mato a muchisima gente incluyendo a el papa de abby, asi que lo que buscaba abby era venganza, e iba a matar a joel de alguna u otra forma tarde o temprano, porque ya habia encontrado el pueblo de jackson. entonces abby encontrandose a joel vio la oportunidad de vengarse y asi fue. por que joel confio tan facil en ella siendo que en el primer juego no confiaba en nadie y estaba solo? porque joel ya habia cerrado esa etapa de su pasado lleno de traumas por la muerte de sarah, con un nuevo comienzo en jackson con ellie y tommy, estaba en paz con el mismo y no esperaba que alguien lo buscase despues de toda la gente que mato, habia cambiado mucho. cuando vemos que abby mata a joel vemos que no mato a tommy y a ellie porque ella ya se habia vengado, no queria matar a los demas, solo a joel. obviamente ellie buscó venganza, a todo esto dejando a todos atras, sin importar si la acompañasen o no. asi es como ellie mata a todo el grupo de amigos de abby, esperando que asi se sintiese mejor, hasta que mato a mel estando esta embarazada, ahi ellie se dio cuenta de lo horrible en que se estaba conviertiendo todo esto quedando asi en shock, seguramente porque tambien habrá pensaso en dina y en su embarazo y que hubiera sido horrible si le hubiera pasado a ella y a su hijo. despues encuentran a tommy y jesse y ellos deciden volver a casa, porque era suficiente tantas muertes porque no iba a traer a joel de vuelta. ellie entonces cede y acepta volver a jackson. pero justo aparece abby y lev, asi dejando a tommy sin un ojo y matando a jesse, para vengarse otra vez pero de la muerte de su amado owen y sus compañeros asesinados. sin embargo perdona la vida de ellie y dina. la siguientes escenas y ya las ultimas del juego muestran a ellie, dina y su bebe recien nacido en una casa lejos de todo. ellie sigue sin poder dormir y sin poder pasar un buen tiempo con su hijo porque no pudo vengar la muerte de joel. ellie ya sabia lo que hizo joel que le mintió sobre su inmunidad y su relacion por esa razon ya estaba rota, sentia que si mataba a abby iba a poder sentirse en paz con ella porque en los ultimos momentos vivos de joel se fue sin perdonarlo y con resentimiento. dina le insiste en que si la ama no vaya a buscar a abby, pero ellie estaba cegada y queria a toda costa vengarse para asi perdonar la muerte de joel. ya todos habian dejado de lado la venganza para seguir con su vida, menos ellie que seguia atormentada porque sentia que su forma de perdonarse y perdonar a joel por mentirle era vengar su muerte. al final terminamos con que ellie encuentra a abby, la obliga a pelear porque sino mata a lev, que estaba malherido, por mas q abby no quisiese porque se dio cuenta de que el camino del odio no lleva a nada. cuando esta por matar a abby, a ellie se le viene un flashback y se da cuenta de que el camino de la venganza no es el mejor, porque en el caso de que haya matado a abby, lev hubiera buscado venganza por abby e iria a matar a ellie, si matan a ellie dina o tommy se vengarian y asi sucesivamente. ambas perdieron mucha gente que amaban, ambas tenian gente a quien cuidar y a quien querer. y el ciclo de venganza y odio nunca terminaria. miren el ejemplo de rrdr2, matan a arthur y despues john cuando se venga de arthur al final años despues lo terminan matando y jack busca de vuelta venganza. se dan cuenta como no termina? ellie decide cortar con ese ciclo, porque tuvo su momento de realizacion y se dio cuenta de que matar a abby no traeria esa paz, sino volver con dina y su familia y seguir adelante, dejar el camino del odio. entonces dejan irse a abby y a lev (viendo que abby era la nueva figura a seguir de lev) al llegar a su casa se da cuenta de que dina y tommy se fueron, y ella por dejarlos atras buscando el camino de la venganza quedo sola. termina ese ciclo tocando la guitarra (sin poder hacerlo porque pierde sus dedos) que le regalo joel y dejandola atras en la casa, sin mirar atras. esa es su forma de perdonar y dejar atras la muerte de joel. fue un final agridulce, me dejo reflexionando y nadie lo esperaba. neil tenia razon sobre que este juego no se trata de diversion e incomoda, porque habla de como es una historia desde ambas partes. quien es el enemigo? quien es el bueno? hasta donde es capaz de llegar la venganza? y para los que dicen que el juego esta politizado o es "progresista" por tener contenido LGBT, es el mundo en que vivimos, todo esta politizado, y mas en el apocalipsis donde ya no existe la ley, todos quieren tener poder y crear sus propias reglas y grupos, sean religiosos o politicos. y la diversidad merece estar en los juegos y no que sea algo que pasa solo en nuestra realidad y que sea un taboo. poca gente entendio esta gran historia.… Expand

    After playing through the game for 25 hours it was clear that this was a massive upgrade to its already incredible prequel. From a technical aspect there truly isn’t a game that can match this - possibly the closest is RDR2 - and the physics of the gameplay puzzle is phenomenal. The story is about consequences and the cycle of vengeance and is handedly very poignantly. For people who can’t get over the plot twists, that’s a shame but maybe they can go on to write their own stories and games if they feel they know better? Some of the latter set pieces are as intense as something in a high-budget Hollywood film.    … Expand

    BAD THINGS: THE ENTIRE STORY.

    Last of Us 1 had the best story in any games released till now in my opinion. Now, Naughty dog just gone and released the worst story-based game in gaming history. I waited 7 years for this game just to be angry and disappointed . Last of Us 2 ruins the legacy of its predecessor. The only good part in the story was that one flashback in the museum. How can you kill off Joel; one of the most beloved characters in such a dishonorable way? This story makes no sense what so ever. What even was that ending? The ending didn't avenge Joel or do anything other than making Ellie lose her fingers. The ending is so disrespectful to Joel and Ellie's character arcs. These two got the worst endings and Abby got a good ending? Ellie killed so many people to get to Abby and she just forgives her 'cause revenge ain't gonna get you anywhere? I mean, do any writers of this game have a brain? And, playing as Abby made me wanna break my PlayStation. Why would I wanna play as Abby? I don't wanna feel any sympathy for ever because I don't care. I just wanna kill her. Just cause she know her backstory, we're supposed to forgive her? SHE BRUTALLY MURDERED JOEL. No matter how hard Naughty dog tried, NO ONE LIKES ABBY.

    Overall, I left angry and disappointed by the end with the garbage-ass game. Like, this game was straight trash. DON'T BUY THIS GAME FOR YOUR SAKE. DON'T READ ANY REVIEWS FROM COMPANIES 'CAUSE THEY'RE FAKE. If you want reviews, ask the gamers.

    Abbey's human charm was wonderful and made us want to live in this world.
    Survive in this world where even Joel cannot survive.
    It felt that this world was changing more severely than the previous work.

Incredible visuals, acting and gritty gaming that i really enjoyed from the first one. Probably one of the bigger disappointments I've experienced in my 37 years of gaming.

Naughty Dog deserves immense about of respect and commemoration for this title as they bravely shift the theme entirely from the first game to deliver a dark deep piece of storytelling that will no doubt be highly polarizing to several archaic recipients.

Neil C uckmann absolutely ruined the game that was hailed as one of the greatest masterpieces of all time. The entirety of the first game made you fall in love with the parental relationship between Joel and Ellie and this game destroys that within the first two hours. For what? The devs say its to make a statement on the theme of revenge, but I say you shouldn't do that at the cost of one of the best relationships portrayed in video gaming. Absolutely pathetic. Not to mention C uckmann's self inserts himself into the game not once... not twice... but THREE times during the game. The ego on this guy is showcased in how he commented on the game saying "some of the fans of the original aren't going to like the game." Then just make a new f ucking game! Don't ruin the game because you want to make some political statement and generate pointless shock value. I pity those who had to work on the game, knowing it was going to be such a terrible excuse for a sequel. Thank God for the whistleblower that saved so many people from buying the game. And for those that don't know, not only will you have to play as Abby for 10 HOURS, but you are forced to spare her in the end. You can't even make the game good no matter how hard you try.     Hoping that it is worth to wait for 5 years for storyline but nah i can't. Such a huge disappoinment. ND shud give more interesting storyline & plot twist

    Super successor to part 1! The things that happen fit into the cruel world the game is playing in. Great story, lots of ups and downs, great characters and always curious about how the story continues.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
