    Amazing game. One of the first games that I ever had an emotional experience with. The gameplay was great and the world was as beautiful as ever. The story did well to show the state of the world that the characters live and that all actions have consequences.

Imagine waiting 7 years for the continuation of one of the best written games of the last generation, just to obtain a sequel that not just is a mess in it's writing, but completely misses the point of the last game; it's not just supposed good and evil but an spectrum between, but TLOU2 just tries to make every character being one or another at certain points just because the writer and/or director says so.
    I love TLOU, but the Part II just misses the mark.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Gameplay is largely the same as the first game save for some additional actions available to the player and improved fluidity of melee combat. Visuals and audio are top quality for its time, similar to how the graphics and sound were also cutting edge during the time of the first game. Characters, character development, and especially the plot, however, are severely lacking.

    The story, plot and character development are a huge step below that of its predecessor. Many characters are bland and uninteresting, serving only to die and perform a cheap way of evoking regret from the player but done so poorly that the player would not even have the time or context to think critically about why or how one would feel sorry for their death apart from them being a human being. (player is already aware of the dog-eat-dog world that is present - why is one more death any different?)

    Most of the characters have no personality traits and know only how to make snarky comments about whatever was last said by the character conversing with them. Many of the characters also make uncharacteristic or irrational decisions which then result in major repercussions. It's to the point where it feels that the writers forced characters to make decisions that are not in line with the character just to push the story forward and in the direction the writers wanted them to, whether or not it would make any logical sense in the story's context.

    Characters that played a major and irreplaceable role in the first game are suddenly made heavily irrelevant and the player is forced by the narrative to hate them and tries extremely hard to paint clear picture of black and white. The game tries to disguise this but it is quite obvious. As Ellie, you are forced to kill enemies who scream in agony or call out to their deceased comrades or even have to kill animals (which have been proven to always evoke strong emotional responses from people). As the other protagonist, Abby, you mostly fight nameless, stereotypical thugs or a dehumanized group of cultists that make no emotional impact on the player when killed (unlike the WLF enemies Ellie must take on). The story tries so hard to make the player empathise with Abby but her personality and decisions in the game don't allow this. She shows no hesitancy in killing Joel despite having her life saved by him and not even any remorse after brutalising him. She shows no hesitancy and even elation in murdering Dina even after knowing she would be killing her unborn child with her. And after all is said and done, despite the game's theme of revenge, she is let free by Ellie despite her actions throughout the game. Of all the characters, Abby, the only person who succeeded in getting their revenge, was let free while Ellie keeps her life but loses her soul and loses everything despite being the one character that chose the higher path. The story tries so hard to portray this idea that "When seeking revenge, dig two graves" but only one grave is filled and thats of the person who chose the path of redemption instead of revenge.

    All in all the story, is forced, undeveloped or arranged in such a way that the player would have to perform an insane amount of mental gymnastics to come to any meaningful conclusion of the message the writers tried to send to the audience (if that was even their intention), the new characters are uninteresting while the old ones have been greatly reduced in terms of what made their characters unique and impactful in the first game and the underlying themes of the game are forcibly pushed onto and unnecessarily overwhelming to the player.

    Considering all aspects: gameplay, visual/sound design, characters and the plot, this game was a huge step down from its predecessor due to the fact that what made the original game unique and enjoyable was its unique narrative and characters that had a strong but reasonable roles in the development of the story. These, however, are all lost in this instalment. Moral ambiguity no longer exists as Ellie and Joel's decisions are retconned from the original game and boiled down to "Joel stop cure, denied Ellie's choice at sacrifice (although in the original game Ellie isn't even given the choice, she is kept sedated by the scientists without telling her the risks of their procedure and attempt actively to prevent Joel from saving her) and killed Fireflies = evil and deserved his death" and "Ellie left behind her life to pursue Abby and therefore deserved to lose her soul (being able to play the guitar, Dina and their child, Jesse). Abby is constantly painted in a good light and even given almost half of the game to make the player empathise with her despite not even being advertised as a protagonist of the game.

    Final Rating:
    1/10 great visuals/sound, ok gameplay but, garbage story and new characters, ND/Sony false advertisement of the game, disrespect for the characters which made TLoU great, endless agenda pandering

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Metacritic will not allow a bad review, so I'm disguising this as a good review. But I give it a 3.5
    The game itself in terms of graphics and voice acting is superb and unmatched. In terms of gameplay, it practically uses the same exact mechanics from its predecessor. There is no nuance or improvement aside from the fact you can now jump at specific locations when prompted. However, aside from that, the story simply alienates the majority of the fans from the original, by mercilessly butchering one of its beloved character in a lazy attempt to justify the sequence of events for rest of the game. In addition, the director's claim that this is a story of revenge, its vicious circle and its consequences, is completely undermined by the main character choosing to "not revenge" at the end. Exactly what are the consequences of revenge, when said revenge never occurred? Its almost as if Naughty Dog decided the story was not good enough and backed out at the last minute, just like its main character did. The only one who took revenge and was rewarded for it, was the main villain. This is why I give this title a 3.5. The Last Of Us Part 2 is nothing more than the most beautiful paperweight you will ever purchase.

I LOVED the first game. I've played it start-to-finish probably a dozen times. Naughty Dog chose to go in a very different direction with the characters and story structure than I think most fans were expecting. After finishing the game, and having many ups and downs along the way in my own experience with the story, I can say that this game absolutely deserves the 10/10 ratings it is receiving for what the game actually is. I totally understand why some people are upset about the approach they took, and how it violated their expectations of what this game should be. But if you can get past the initial shock that it's not what most Last of Us fans expected, Naughty Dog has created something incredible and unique, and this story is something that will stick with me for a very long time. Unfortunately the writers got into the sugar cereal and had a meltdown in the story department. I have no problem with killing off main characters, especially to inspire you to follow through the game until the end, but to make you play as the killer of someone you pent 100s of hours with building a relationship with and getting attached to? To be frank, are you high? This is just first and foremost poor story telling and to put this out on the market thinking it was a good idea was a horrible mistake. This game complete ruins in my opinion of every character left alive in the game, the only enjoyable characters get kill both by Abby and Ellie, and in the very end Ellie give up everything for revenge and then doesn’t finish the job, and in the very end is is left broken and alone consumed by vengeance, lost every from her lover and child, the one thing she has left to remember Joel fondly, then when she realized she I broken and can no longer play the guitar she just leaves it to rot instead of passing it on to someone she just leaves it, the story complete ruins the gameplay and the world which have some improvements over the first game and then something that just pad out the game to make it longer than needed somethings in the game are extremely beautiful, and the only good moments that feel like it is an actual sequel to The Last of Us part 1 are the flash back the Ellie and Joel, this game completely destroys the likability of any character left alive. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is the best game this generation, or at least a very good contender for it. Flipping the protagonist and antagonist theme on it's head and providing an unrivalled experience of the consequence of ones actions. Dark, harrowing and extremely beautiful. A terrific piece of work and story. The story is a mix of happiness and then sadness - a beautiful roller coaster ride that explores human emotion - and delves deep into the cycle of hatred and consequence.

    I have been up for one sitting and completed it. It is truly incredible. Yes, some of the story elements can be disappointing, but this does not make it a bad game in any context. Please do not listen to the review bombers, who have been waiting for the Metacritic user review section to open to purely review bomb the game when the majority of them have not even played it.

    To rate the game 0, but give it a 10 for graphics and 7 for gameplay makes absolute no sense whoever that silly user was. Clearly the game is being targeted due to the high profile and anti-fans will stop at nothing to ruin it. It is a shame but I suggest Metacritic take these reviews down as it is clearly not true.

    Now to actually delve into the review: No spoilers:

    Graphics: a solid 10 - these are some of the best visuals on PS4 and one of the best art directions I have ever seen. The material work is just absolutely spectacular... the level of detail present really brings you into the world. I will also mention animation here to save reading time - animation is by far the best I have ever seen utilising what seems to be motion capture animation frames for every single animation in game.

    Gameplay - 10 - Retains the incredible tense gameplay of the TLOU and expands on it with more verticality and more agility. Enemy AI is perhaps the best I have witnessed in a video game. They will communicate with one another to pinpoint you location so it seems, and they get slightly suspicious when members go missing (by missing I mean strangled) - I tend to go non-lethal wherever possible and yes at sometimes in the game it will force a violent approach on you, which is not a problem but can at times distract from the open-choice the rest of the game has (in a linear way of course). Otherwise this little nit pick is not a deviation from a 10/10 on gameplay side as this is the game. If I could rate out of 100, gameplay would be 96, as such it would be very unfair to give it 90.

    Story - 9/10 (92/100): The story is very good do not let those who want to ruin the game do exactly that for you. Whilst not your conventional bitter sweet and dark themed sequel.... It is brilliant...in a very dark and bitter way.. but there is happiness to be found and I think the theme of the game is consequence of actions taken. Every action has a consequence and this is what happens in the game... at least in a story driven way. It flips the antagonist and protagonist experience on it's head and delivers a very dark formula, but a beautiful one.

    Overall - taking average of all scores is 96/100 and hence giving this game a 9/10 would be unfair.

    To put this is perspective, TLOU was awarded a 95/100 from myself and hence was given a 10, as 9 seemed unfair.

    I implore that Metacritic finds a way to certify you have played the game. As this game is clearly targeted for not letting fans write the story and including a homosexual lead character. So called fans are unhappy because they were too focused on what they want from the story not from what the story is and the journey it explores. It is a story after all, not your story,, Ellies and you need to pick it apart for what it is and not what you wanted the plot points to be. To all of you are review bombing this game simply because you don't agree with homosexuality or the plot points you need to reconsider that it does not make it a terrible game. I found the experience great.

    Having now played through three times. I can say this game is simply beautiful.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Expand

    Environments feel more real and they were a blast to play through. Those were my only positives sadly. I played this game on hard and god damn is this AI bad, absolutely no strides forward since 2013 and I had to check a few times to see if the difficulty switched to easy or something. And the story, I hated every second of it. The reason that I fell in love with the first game was because of how real the characters were. I know it has been said a million times but I love the relationship between Joel and Ellie and I couldn't wait to see what they would do in this game. So why does Joel get merked in the first 2 hours? It pisses me off beyond belief. In my opinion, the characters seem way off and boring. I hated Jesse instantly and Dina is such a dry and uninteresting person. And Tommy seems so off and the way he acts was so strange to me. Ellie is no longer a witty and impulsive girl that made you laugh and happy. She is now a stone-cold killer with little to no emotion. The revenge plot is just so stupid and I never thought it would pay off. Which it didn't. I hated every second that I had to play as Abby, and since you play her for nearly half the game, I lost my mind. I have absolutely no sympathy for her and what her past was. She is uninteresting and her character depth is dog ** The game is so brutal and violent it made me sick. The way every person is treated and how they all suffer in some way just hurts me. Joel dies, Jesse dies, Tommy gets shot in the head and loses an eye, Dina abandons Ellie, and Ellie ends the game alone, fingerless, and sad. This brings me to the ending which I could barely get myself too. My mental state was that bad. So, why does Ellie spare Abby? You spend the entire game hunting her down and you kill hundreds of people to get to Abby. The moral of the story is that killing is bad and the cycle of revenge, so basically the game is telling me that killing Abby would get me nowhere. But this is stupid because the story tells me that you need to kill everyone in your path to get to Abby and when I get there, the game says no and insert cutscene. At least give the player a choice. I bet 95 percent of all players would absolutely destroy Abby in the worst way possible. Why am I told to kill for the first 25 hours but not the final resolution? It feels cheap and left such a bad taste in my mouth, I couldn't even break a smile. In fact, the only time I did smile was during the flashbacks with Joel and Ellie. It shows what the game could have been without all the hate and sadness. And the scenes like Owen and Abby in the aquarium I just thought about how this scene could have been good if replaced by Joel and Ellie. The game ending with Ellie unable to play guitar and all alone just crushes me. She didn't deserve any of this. This game is so depressing and intentionally filled with hate. By the end, the game gave me so many negative feelings I can't even explain them. Why would anyone want that in a video game? I cried because the game is so sad and feels like a slap in the face compared to the first game. The game did not need to be like this, I would have loved if it was just the Joel and Ellie flashbacks. I still can't believe this is the end result. I could go more in-depth but I don't want to. I can't express how much it hurts me. Just like Reggie said, "If it's not fun, why bother"? So don't. Don't bother."

The game has absolutely stunning visuals, the best I've ever seen no one can deny that. The gameplay is another factor that I love about the game, a lot of people say that they're disappointed about the game because there wasn't any huge change in the gameplay, however for me it's a plus, I loved the gameplay from the first game a lot and if it ain't broke there is no point in fixing it. So if you enjoyed the gameplay from the first game, you're most likely going to enjoy it just as much in this game too. The soundtrack is amazing, Gustavo Santaolalla brings it again.
    And then there is the most controversial part of The Last of Us Part II, which is the story. For me I had no problem with the story, but you got to understand that it's my opinion and a lot of people are going to have differing opinions. There is that infamous "golf" scene that a lot of people hate, but for me I didn't have a problem with it from a story perspective, don't get me wrong it's a crazy scene but I thought it was kinda necessary to advance the plot. Then there is also the second part of the game which is probably going to make or break the game for you. I was quite scared at first when I started playing the second part of the game but then I started to like it a lot. By the end of the game I was almost in tears, a similar feeling from when I ended the first game.
    I do get why people hate The Last of Us Part II, the story is one of the most controversial stories in gaming and you're probably either going to love it or hate it, I fall in to the "love it" category. For me the controversial moments of the game are the ones that make the game so special, but I do understand the frustration and the disappointment that some people felt. This review is probably going to be hated by people, considering the game got review bombed and a lot of people are upset, however that is not going to change my opinion on the game. This is one of the best cinematic and storytelling games that I've ever played and I think it's on par with the first Last of Us. Naughty Dog is my favorite developers of all time and the The Last of Us franchise is my favorite game series of all time. Naughty Dog make some of the best games out there and The Last of Us Part II is no exception.

    Not sure why people are hating on this one so much. It’s a story full of complex characters that certainly makes you feel the impact of everything you did in the first game and in this one. Excellent graphics, gameplay, and performances make this my top game of 2020 for sure.

    Technically, it is a great game: amazing graphics, fluid controls, big spaces to explore and rich in resourcefulness. But the story (which was the best part and most loved thing about the first) is bad, disrespectful to our intelligence. No spoilers here, but I felt Naughty Dog insulted me with this empty chiché of vengeance tale.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. i walked into this game with an open mind & the benefit of the doubt. i knew about the leaks, but i chose not to believe them. joke's on me. EVERYONE felt so out of character. joel's death was awful and insulting, but maybe i could've looked past that if the story got better. spoiler alert, it didn't.

    the heart of the last of us was ellie & joel's relationship. and then you tell me that ellie's been mad at joel for YEARS? and then joel gets killed by a bunch of characters we couldn't care less about? not to mention, it was extremely convenient how they found him. and by extrememly convenient, i mean lazy storytelling. another thing that bugged me was how ellie & tom's grief was depicted. sure, this whole game is that they both make it their sole mission to get revenge, but they didn't feel like they were grieving (until the very end, but the end is a whole OTHER story). and abby. goddamn abby. listen, i know what they were trying to do. but they failed. abby's character is not likeable at all (none of her friends are, either). her story might've been the game's attempt at making us see her side, but it felt like an aggravation. her father was willing to KILL A KID. A KID WHO WOULD'VE PROBABLY DIED FOR NOTHING. because there WERE others like ellie, but for some reason this game forgot about that. and the ending was just. hollow. it leaves you feeling empty, and not the good empty. heck, if it ended at the point where ellie & dina were living in their little farm i could've digested it. but it dragged on and on and ellie lost EVERYTHING and for WHAT? to drive in that 'revenge is bad'? that's a too cliche lesson that is NOT worth all that was lost. ellie deserved better than just walking into the woods alone to god knows where. it's like the developers missed the WHOLE point of why people liked the last of us. personally, i loved TLOU because of its story, a story about two people who couldn't be more different finding each other in a world with no mercy. how no matter how awful things got, they had each other. i loved TLOU because of its message of love and hope and found family. TLOU2 was bleak and about hate and never felt like it was a sequal to the last of us. they tried to flip the script, do something new, and it failed miserably. i could never accept this mess as canon. on the other hand, i have to give the actors & animators & world builders credit. they did a wonderful job. the gameplay was good, albeit a bit repititive. but it wasn't worth it. they should've just taken the success of the first one and left. it's a shame.

    I re-played TLOU1 recently and still loved the game. it's successor well, my first impression in terms of game play was that not much had changed. That was probably acceptable 7 years ago but now character movement just feels 'clunky' general movement is way behind that of other modern games.

    I've not completed the game yet but so far the story line feels really out of sync, this maybe intentional but, IMO, it just doesn't work well. It feel like they either couldn't quite decide which way to go with the story or just got lost and rushed it. I doubt the latter as they had loads of time to polish. Graphics and sounds were good. I waited a long time for this to come out, quite a let down...

    Played all of Naughty Dog's games.
    Amazing graphics, music, above average gameplay. However, this is a story driven game.
    This game is like an average 4-5/10. If there was no prequel, I'd probably give it a 6 or even 7.
    But I honestly want to give it a 0 for the way ND has handled things. Their PR was ridiculous, their trailers misleading to the point is false advertisement, and they even tried to silence people with DMCAs. What an absolute disaster.

    Here is the list on the game and naughty dogs behaviours:

    1. Takes away everything that made the first game great, changes character's personalities to serve the plot;
    2. Makes a basic revenge plot sound like a pretentious masterpiece;
    3. New characters don't have depth, I don't care about anyone. When Jesse died, I felt nothing because I really didn't know the guy;
    4. Makes Ellie feel like the villain, you have to kill a dog and a pregnant lady;
    5. Tries to make you have compassion for Abby. While Ellie is killing everyone, Abby is playing with a dog. The game is trying to manipulate the player by making Abby more relatable and for that, has to make Ellie unlikable. Feels forced;
    6. The stupid pregnant woman just decided to risk her life for no damn reason, instead of being secured in the stadium, just so Ellie could kill her. Ellie bad. Horrible writing;
    7. You don't kill Abby;
    8. DMCA on everyone. ND and sony were really awful at handling this. Unacceptable;
    9. Awkward teenage drama between Ellie and Dina, seriously, that was really cringe;
    10. **** story trailer was misleading as hell. False advertisement;
    11. Dr. Uckmann and the "new dogs" feels like a showcase of the new team, and I hate it;
    12. You kill a person and later in the game you know about their history to make you feel guilty. Every single time. So cheap...
    13. Bigot Sandwich;
    14. Horrible pacing, changing characters all the time, lots of flashbacks;
    15. Flashbacks inside of flashbacks;
    16. Also, did you know revenge is bad? You didn't, did you? Yap, revenge and violence are bad. Now be astonished by my clearly superior intellect, you peasants. You pedestrian creatures;
    17. Joel doesn't tell Ellie the whole story in order to serve the plot, once again;
    18. Story doesn't justify game's length, it has 2 times the longevity of the first, but half the story content, just seems to drag on;
    19. Abby and her father moments are supposed to feel the same as Ellie and Joel connection, couldn't care less;
    20. The **** zebra is supposed to replace the **** giraffe moment, and give some humanity to Abby's father, then in the next scene he wants to kill a 14 year old girl;
    21. For me, they created the stadium section of the game, with all of its complexity, just to justify Abby's gains. First create the character, then get out of their way to create a possible environment for it;
    22. So much repetition, Abby lets Ellie go several times, Ellie searches for Abby several times. This is the game;
    24. Hypocrisy of sexual content in games by Sony;
    23. *Guess*

    Plot holes for me:
    1. Group travels 1k miles for revenge. Also they have second thoughts when they arrive. Only Abby continues;
    2. Ridiculously coincidental Joel-Abby encounter at the begining of the game. This is luck on a complete new level;
    3. Change Joel character into a naive person in order to set Abby's revenge;
    4. Abby let's Ellie and Tommy live, Ellie is on the ground screaming she will revenge Joel;
    5. Ellie travels to Seattle(1k miles!) to fight an entire group of people, practically alone;
    6. Abby lets Ellie leave again in the theater;
    7. **** Jesse dies. He was just a sperm donor anyways;
    8. Dina gets a pregnancy belly so fast? Or did I miss a time skip?;
    9. Kills hundreds of people in order to kill Abby. Doesn't do it because revenge bad;
    10. Flashbacks are mostly pointless;
    11. Joel doesn't tell Ellie the whole story in the firefly basement in order to serve the plot, once again;
    12. Pregnant lady goes to combat and the dialog to to justify this is just ridiculous. There is just one reason for her to be there and we all know it, for Ellie to kill her;

    After all this list I lower my review to a 3. Character progress right here.
    Sorry if my list is not ordered, I was writing as I was remembering all of the issues I have with it. I also didn't have 7 years to make this, so... Yep(Joel's last word)
    Never touching games from Naughty Dog again. At least, one with Dr. Uckmann in it.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It doesn't feel like they really cared about the game they were making, and couldn't care less about what the characters meant to tha fans. It feels so disgusting that they would lie like that about Joel's role in the game and then snatch the hope from us. The main motivation of Ellie could have been something to route for, like the GOW series, if the game wasen't as long as it was and if we weren't forcet to play as the main villan for 50% of the game.

    The main problem is the secund half of the game where you play as the bad guy and the game tries to humanize this person. It would be like playing as David from the first game and then trying to make him appealing, even thow he tries to make a little girl his own private toy and then try to slaughter her when she fights back. That guy is beyond redemption and we don't want to play as him, we want to shoot him.

    And the ending to The Last Of Us Part 2 is so dissatisfying, it would be like: in God of War 1, you didn't kill Ares in the end of the game becouse Kratos remembered his family. Ares is the reason why you are in such anger and pain, and you let him go? Why didn't thay let you have the choice of killing the main villan or letting her live in TLOU2? The ending would have been much better and rewarding. But the Game looks amazing, and the gameplay is quite fun and brings out memories from 7 years ago, a better time indeed.

This game took an awful turn within the first 3 hours and after this huge slap in the face of an event happened the game continues to disgrace and spit in the face of all fans by making the characters we love and built such a bond with in the first game appear to be the “bad guys” of this game. And as if that’s not enough you got to play as a character that everyone who plays the game that was a fan of the first game despises for over 7 hours and you are forced to sit through a force feeding of an attempt to sympathize with the worst character in the game. This game tries so hard to suck up to those who play the victim in today’s society so hard just to be a good guy that it completely misses the mark and disrespected all the fans and players that have got this company where they are in the gaming industry and it’s pathetic truly. I’ve never been so disappointed in a game in my life. How can you treat your fans and community that put you on top this poorly and deliver something this pitiful. Don’t even get me started on the bugs and glitches. You know a game is bad when it bugs this much and nobody talks about it because of the plot holes and the lack of any actual intuitive and realistic storylines. The amount of hypocritical storytelling and contradictions with character traits and decisions is ridiculous and if anyone wants to try to say this isn’t reason enough to dislike the game I got many more reasons too.

    It is a technical marvel, full of fluid animation, richly detailed worlds and the most fluid gameplay I’ve ever experienced. Combat scenarios are intense, open-ended and dynamic; enemies have a great variety and require various skillful tactics to defeat. Player freedom, from the settings to gameplay approach, is high. The soundtrack is top-notch, and music is masterfully deployed to match the mood of every scene. Excellent visuals, gameplay, sound and world design are only the start. There’s also some amazing blockbuster-level action set pieces and top-notch production values.

    What really matters, why I game, is for the experience. After lots of gaming, I admit I stopped caring about them for a while. Games just started to feel too familiar. This rekindled that fire a thousand times over, by making me feel every single emotion under the sun. Anger, horror, shock, loss, fear, joy, giddiness, disbelief, awe, sadness, excitement, every single thing. Over the 3 or so days I spent with this game, doing little else outside of sleeping and eating, I kept marveling at these emotions it was eliciting, the expansive and twisted and difficult storyline, the amazing characters, the brilliant way fully-realized characters were opposed to each other, the way the game made you do things that made your skin crawl. On the horror side, there were so so so many moments of intense adrenaline. On the storytelling side, I’ve rarely seen a story as moving and as difficult as this, explored in a way that only video games can realize. This is gaming as an artform, and Naughty Dog has secured my loyalty for life.

    In the interest of keeping this spoiler-free, I don’t wanna say much else, except buy this game. Play it with an open mind. It is dark and messy and **** and some parts will drain you, anger you, make you question a lot. Every aspect of it is working towards telling one of the most powerful experiential stories I have ever witnessed. As a software engineer by day, and writer by night, both parts of me feel elated to the highest level for having experienced this. Games of this quality rarely occur.. The Last of Us Part 2 is without equal, a generation-defining masterpiece, and my favorite game of all time.

    While the message the game was trying to put out was great, I don't think this was the series to do it to. For a game that was anticipated for 7 years, it's really difficult to make fans of the original game feel sympathetic for someone who killed off a beloved character, not to mention that Joel was very anticipated for this sequel.
    The Last of Us Part II would have done better if it continued with the story they built up years ago. It's not a matter of a woman taking the lead role or the lesbian representation; the story does not hold up because of the huge change in direction. The writers wanted to show that not everything is black and white, but this should've been done with a new series instead of a series with diehard fans for the original cast.
    Despite that, the game is beautiful and fun but can be slow quite a bit which can be different from other apocalyptic games. The artistic direction they took with this game is amazing just like many NaughtyDog games. If only NaughtyDog could've continued with what worked in this series and experimented with their new story with a different one. The best moments of the game were the flashbacks with Joel, and I wished NaughtyDog had focused on that in the beginning.

    ellie being a lesbian has been in the game since the expansion, so i figured that the next part would focus on her relationships as well, and i had no issues with that.

    hopefully naughty dog will learn from this. its a shame that TLOU2 ended up the way it did, but we shouldnt start a witch hunt because of it.

The gameplay was no different from the first game. I honestly wasn't a great fan of the story either because I felt the game ignored everything from the first story. But the amazing thing is that they had a plan and executed it. It messes with you emotionally in order to deliver its story and i think this is what gaming really needs right now. We need more of those stories that cant be played as movies, they are an experience(like death stranding). Even though i found some minor pacing issues it did not make my experience any worse. As far as Graphics, Audio, Characters, Voice acting its all a 10/10 on those aspects i think undeniably. With a narration that PERSONALLY i found a 10/10 and a pacing of like an 8/10 my score comes down to an overall 10/10. I recommend that you all play it because its one of the only games that i think cant be watched on a playthrough or a stream, its just not the same. And remember, any game you play is a creation of someone and in order to experience it you need to be sometimes patient and other times open minded.

    The gameplay, technical aspects such as animations, graphics, sound design are all on point and perfect. What made me dislike this immensely however was the story. I'm being honest here and saying I love the graphics, but as a gamer I hate the plot so much that it ruined the whole experience for me and I canr even return the game. Overall, save yourself 60$ and watch a youtuber play. Naughty dog, you guys did a terrible job and you act like you made an amazing game the fanbase will love, we do not love it, we hate it.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
