Not gonna lie, when I completed The Last of Us back on PS3, never thought it was gonna have a sequel, like, what would it be the point or goal to achieve for Ellie and Joel? In my opinion, they destroyed the whole script with the ending in the first game so that's why I didn't expect a new game to be released.
Joel was given a mission which was to take care of Ellie and bring her to the Fireflies' camp so they could make a vaccine wit her blood. During their journey they go through a lot of terrible moments, losses and they struggle to survive in order to achieve the goal set for Marlene. Yes, Joel and Ellie make bonds with each other which is a crucial thing for the game. At the end, Joel's decission was the most important plot twist. He went to another direction to the one he was supposed to. He refuse to give Ellie to the fireflies because she would die, he was selfish, yeah. But nobody cared because people understood him, because I believe we all would probably do the same he did, he started seeing Ellie as his daughter and what he did was "right", Joel was a hero in our eyes.
But, does that make him a real heroe? In a videogame, probably, because it is so easy to be in the character's shoes. In real life, I bet if we took Joel's path we would be hated and Naughty Dog knows that. Just imagine, same situation as Joel and Ellie went through but applied in this pandemic situation that we are living in (COVID-19). How would you feel knowing that there is one person that has the cure for all this and at the end they just say "no, **** but I can't do this, I can't let this person die to save the humankind, it will be hard for me, those that stand on my way to stop me will be killed." Would you feel ok with their decission knowing that the world will continue with the virus and having in mind that this could have been completely stopped?
I know, one thing happens in a videogame and the other example is based on real life, but , that's what Naughty Dog was aiming to that in The Last of Us and The Last of Us part II, putting a real life context or sensitive situation in a videogame or at least, trying to make it more real-life like.
With all that said, I personally feel The Last of Us part II have brutality from the beggining to the end. One person going for revenge. Revenge people could actually attempt in real life if somebody else took their loved ones' life for personal and selfishness reasons, plus, the fact that the death mentioned could have saved the whole humanity if things were different, but they ain't. It is all about that, perspectives, no one is good or bad it all depends on the eyes of the beholder. I loved it from head to toe, it always makes you question yourself about the good and evil and beyond the meaning you give to every single action took in the game, it gives you the chance to experience it in different point of views. Was basically like going in a rollercoaster of emotions where you could not predict what was gonna be the next thing to happen. You started developing feelings with a character and next thing you know they are gone. I loved those up and downs.
I just wish they would have added more gameplay to explain what happened after Abby encountered Ellie in the theater. Probably they will bring a DLC, who knows?

One of the most disappointing games in recent memory, hands down. Ellie is downright unlikeable now, and just when the story starts picking up steam, they switch to the other playable character, Abby.
You play a good third of the game in flashbacks and Joel and Ellie are only together for a brief time. The environments are good and there's a LOT of spaces to explore and scavenge

Combat is pretty similar to the first game. Overall, the game is just so-so. The story just kind of killed it for me. Maybe my expectations were too high.

Tengo un profundo amor por Last of Us 1.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Expand

Never in my life have I played a game so blatantly motivated by SJW hysteria whilst simultaneously destroying the memory and reputation of a previous installment. Naughty Dog has just taken a huge dump on its fans and made you pay for it too. As long as Neil Druckmann is behind any future games I will not be buying them, what the hell were you thinking Naughty Dog?

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Ok I finally finished the game
And Here's my thought on playing it

I wasn’t spoiled and i didnt see any leaks
I really dont need to talk about the graphics and gameplay because it was too good The graphics at times had me on edge and it did look so real and how everything was detailed so perfectly
The sound design is just as brilliant as it was in the first game.
It deserves a lot of praise
I played the first game and i went through some moments of the game many times on youtube and to be completely honest first game didnt have the crazy set piece events and the overthetop animation and the cinematic feel
It did have a few but not nearly as much as part 2 has but i get that it wasn’t really possible on a game developed in 2013 for the ps3 but that doesnt change the fact that the gameplay in first game was pretty boring and i Couldn't wait to get past it and learn more of the story and i was pretty invested in part 1 that it probably was my favourite game back then
Just because how invested i was in the game
So It's pretty obvious i was gonna buy and play part 2 After spending over 20-25hrs I'd say this game is done brilliantly
Even after looking at people posting about how bad it is
I really didnt let this bother me
Totally ignored all the hate and user score on metacritic and everything Went on with the journey and Here's my final thought It's not like the first game in terms of story telling
And Its not something that many people expected A joel and ellie wholesome story The development in these two characters is what most people expected
And they think it wasnt fulfilled So i get why people are upset over joel's death
But i honestly feel like we got plenty of joel and ellie throughout the story.

Even if joels death was rushed
    Doesn't mean it was terrible
It made sense at least to me
And yes like everyone else i hated abby at first for killing my favourite character
And i honestly didnt wanted to play as abby
But slowly it really got to me and i think most of us wanted to explore the world of last of us
See how far civilisation has come in an apocalyse
And the world is build up
We got more clear view of the world from abby's perspective The whole WLF and Seraphites thing
It surely deserves a lot more praise
And Doesn't deserve all the hate it’s getting for expanding the story and the world I really felt a deep connection between characters
Ellie and dina didnt have the best bond and it was pretty cringey at times
You get to see jesse and ellie
The wholesome flashbacks are really something i loved And what made me like abby as a character is the bond she made with lev and yara the way they went through all the chaos
And how she was portraited to be a good person with a grudge against joel.
well she had a valid reason behind it.
Also We've seen how far ellie pushed herself for serving justice to joel
It also opened up a window at the end of the story which is very interesting.

Things that i disliked about the game.

At first i didnt like the character design of abby but it made a lot of sense later on
And i really feel like the sex scene of abby and owen was unnecessary really.

But those are very minor issues compared to what the game really delivers Just like first game
This one left me on edge
And i cant wait to find out what's next

    • For me It's a 8.5 to 9/10 Definitely one of the best game I've played.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Where do i start.... well how about waiting for 7 years to experience Ellie and Joel on another wild ride. How about being an hour into the game and having all of that hope dashed. That's what naughty dog did. It's like Druckmann was watching the walking dead and taking pointers for shock value. "oh wow look at how people responded to Negan!" Shock value story telling is cheap. Am i really supposed to believe Joel, a guy from the first game who runs over a person looking for "help" because he assumes it's an ambush, is like "oh howdy partners, y'all should spend the night at our settlement and stock up on our resources even though I don't even know you? I initially defended this game when the leaks came out because i had trust in Naughty Dog because of past games. Never would i have imagined a company of this calibre would put out such a garbage piece of storytelling. I understand killing Joel his story was winding down anyway, but to do it an hour into the game just deflated the whole entire experience for me. And not only that you have to play as the person who kills Joel for like 8-9 hours. Who made these decisons??? mother of god man it's mind boggling. They also skip any funeral or memorial service for Joel which in honesty could have softened the blow a bit. But i didn't even want to continue but i kept playing anyway. Got to a point where Ellie is caught basically in a hurricane on a boat, nearly drowns so she can go kill a member of the wolves and when she does she almost dies if i remember correctly and Tommy saves her and then they're back at the theater.........do you see where i'm going the story is all over the place it's messy and unnecessary. This game could have cut a bunch of mindless moments where you're just going around and getting dialogue events in the stadium as Abby for instance. At least give it a trophy for getting those events but no it doesn't matter. The ending of the game was also hot garbage. Ellie is living with Dina after nearly dying at the hands of Abby(who you play) and Abby says to her "if i ever see you again i'll kill you." So cut to ellie and dina living in an old home on some farm and Ellie is still feeling the effects of Joel's death to a point where it scares herself and dina. So ellie decides "No i have to finish it." At this point as a player i was like "finally let's go kill her."
Side note lev and yara and their mom seemed like a completely pointless story line altogether because when you go to confront his mother she's already dead at the hands of Lev.
Anyways ellie sets off to California because magically Tommy overheard that Abby was spotted in California. Santa Barbara to be exact, so she goes there rinse repeat, take out "rattlers" and get to Abby. So you finally reach Abby and Lev and her are both tied to their own crucifix basically. So Ellie cuts them down, Abby begs for her life and Ellie is ready to let them go, but she changes her mind and decides to fight Abby to the death. Ellie gets the upper hand and starts drowning Abby and lets her up and lets her go and they sail off into oblivion. Ellie goes back to the farm to discover Dina isn't there. She tries to play guitar but Abby bit off two of ellie's fingers during the fight so now she can't even do that anymore. Ellie leaves the house and the game ends. I've never felt more empty playing a game it was meant to feel a certain way but it backfired miserably. The whole Scar story line seemed wasted as well, we could have discovered they had some crazy beliefs but most of them burned sadly because of incompetent wtiting. Playing this game makes the entire events of the first game seem irrelevant, why not just kill Joel off when he landed on rebar? No, you guys made us like and care for him and took him away for shock value. Graphics and gameplay are good but thats about it

As a veteran player, I was expecting too much about the last of us part 2, but unfortunately I must say that it failed to meet my expectations I have several points of view to criticize, but it is not a secret that the story is the biggest point that was left to duty, it felt full of plot holes that they tried to fill to the end and failed to supply
She feels a little lazy, lacking, with a terrible gap in the plot since (spoiler alert) after Joel's death we all would feel that Ellie would try to take revenge until she succeeded, whatever the cost since in the first information of the game it was it's about revenge, and if they've managed to finish the game I think they've stayed like me, strongly questioned In terms of gameplay, graphics, and soundtrack os perfect but in history (the main attraction) it falls to short In short, obviously it is recommended, but definitely not a priority, as for my tlou 2 I think I will play it again, but it will be a long time for it ... If they have the opportunity, of course they should buy it, but if they are not fans from the franchise, or you can buy other games, you could just as well wait for an offer or just let it go

A lot of the characters are very much unlikeable and some are so cookie cutter you could argue they are interchangeable and could be taken out and it wouldnt change a thing. The story comes off as a snobby college student writing a dark story for the first time and showing it off in your face saying i know how to write take me serious. I shouldn’t have to go when playing a game ”wait a minute what? Oh man thats a plot hole” or ”I would’ve written that better” but i did and I’m sure plenty of others are as well. The combat is serviceable it doesnt do anything that another AAA publisher couldn’t easily do better but it gets the job done. The atmosphere is dark and thats to be expected the choice of music is a mixed bag though but its nothing to cry over. The Story is Divisive and I would argue significantly unpolished if its not dragging it feels rushed. Naughty Dog’s game is going to have to compete vs CyberPunk2077 ,Ghosts of Tsushima, and maybe even Baldurs Gate 3. Now that I finished it I have to say I loved the game even though I didn't love all parts while playing. The ending redeemed the game for me even though it is not a happy ending. It hit me so god damn hard. At first when playing as Abby I wanted to go back to playing as Ellie and didn't enjoy it but slowly she grew on me and by the end I found myself sympathising with her. Ellie after Joel's death dedicated her life in following Abby and trying to complete her revenge.
But in the end of the game she lost the love of her life and also her fingers, and without them she could not do the one of the stuff that Joel taught her.

In all honesty I really did enjoy the game but I can see why almost everybody hated it. It was such a shocking turn of events that I really did not see coming. Was I extremely mad about how they did my dawg Joel only 2 hours into the game? Of course I was. I was infuriated. But once I got over that and realized where the game was taking me I really did enjoy it. The decision to force players to play as Abby was a strange one and I, along with almost everybody else killed Abby in almost any way possible as soon as I was thrown into her story. However, as I continued playing I realized it was necessary for this particular story. You as the player needed to see that Abby is no different than Joel and Ellie in the world they live in. As much as I loved Joel, I sympathized with Abby (somewhat) because if I were thrown into her situation I would've done the same thing. It's harsh and dark and felt like a punch to the stomach, but that's the world they live in. There aren't happy endings in this universe and I get that.

I also understand where they wanted to go with the whole "cost of revenge" story line and "breaking the cycle" but to me what would've made this game a 10/10 is 1 thing only. All this game needed was for Ellie to go through with killing Abby in the end. Nothing else had to be changed, she could still walk away losing everything. Could've been a tragic revenge tale. Yeah you got revenge but at what cost? Sort of thing. But instead what we got was a tragic tale that made you miserable and depressed throughout its entirety with no redeeming aspects. Yeah it makes sense in this type of environment but for me personally....it made it seem like a big waste of time. Also, the simple fact that Abby walks away freely kind of contradicts the whole point they were going for. Abby got her revenge and gets to live happily ever after but Ellie gets **** on....pretty damn stupid to me.

At the end of the day video games are an art form. They wanted to push a message in this game and I can respect it. The story really isn't as bad as people are making it out to be. There was only one problem with it and it was the missed opportunity of Ellie killing Abby. Other than that I really enjoyed it. It took me on an emotional journey from start to finish and it's a game that will stick with me for a long time. In my eyes that's what makes any form of entertainment, "good". Whether it's a movie, book, television series or video game, if it sticks with you and has you thinking about it for a long time it did its job.

And to all you morons/devs....Just because somebody doesn't like it doesn't make them "homophobic" or "transphobic". yOu dOn'T lIkE mY gAmE yOu hOmOpHoBiC....makes you sound like huge babies that can't take criticism. Almost none of the problems people have with this game has anything to do with that stuff, cut it out.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Contrary to popular opinion, I thoroughly enjoyed TLOU Part II. While my expectations were not completely met, I was more than happy with the outcome of the game. The gameplay was intense and amusing, the graphics were very impressive on more than one occassion, and the sound design was top-notch. With all of that said, the story is where the issues lie. While I acknowledge the flaws that this game had, I believe that the pros outweighed the cons, in this instance.

One of the main grievances I've seen people have about the game is the death of Joel - specifically how and when he died. His death, in my mind, happened too early in the game (I would've liked it if he was in the game for an hour or two more), but his death was not complete "character assassination," as some have called it. If there's one thing that Naughty Dog tried to get across in the game, it's the notion that not everyone has a heroic death. Even our heroes, as much as we love them, meet grisly and unsatisfying ends. I was astonished with Joel's death, but I was forced to rationalize it and learn to accept it, just as Ellie had to do throughout her journey in this game. I wished I could've had another adventure with two of my favorite characters of the last decade, but I couldn't. Just as Naughty Dog had hoped for, Joel's death made me upset and struck an uncomfortable chord inside of me - it fueled my want for revenge, but it was intentionally drenched in grief and disappointment.

The next thing many people have been angry about is Abby. This comes with good reason. At first, I felt absolutely nothing for her character. I didn't like her, I didn't hate her, I just did not care. When I was forced to spend 10+ hours playing with her, I was so upset that I actually turned off my console. If Abby had been given a longer introduction (possibly with more useful information about her), I would've been more willing to play her. Fortunately, I was resilient, I picked up my controller the next morning, and I kept playing. Abby's run was surprisingly fun for me, after I got past day 1. While I never grew to like her character or feel overly sympathetic for her, I learned her lore and accepted her.

I think the thing that upset most players was the jarring switch between Ellie and Abby. Switching from high-paced, emotionally-charged action as Ellie, to a sunny trip with Abby's father was not the smartest move on Naughty Dog's part.

Lastly, I'd like to talk about Ellie letting Abby live at the finale. This final act of Ellie's was not Naughty Dog's way of saying "revenge is wrong" or "killing is bad." To Ellie Abby's death would do nothing for her. Ellie could finally remember Joel in a peaceful, positive state and her mind, for the first time in the entire game, she was not completely marred by the bloody image of Joel's corpse. Most players would consider Abby's death a victory for Ellie. However, in her fragile state, completely abandoned by everybody who ever cared for her, Abby's death would've been a hollow victory. There is no one to boast to, she can't undo the things that have been done, and Abby's death would've resulted in one more lost child. Abby's death wasn't a necessary part of Ellie's life anymore, as her old life completely vanished on her warpath to destroy the WLF.

The Last of us Part II is based in reality. There are no dramatically heroic deaths, there are no protagonists or antagonists, and it seems that, with time, nowhere is safe. Living can be suffering. The best thing that one can do in the world of The Last of Us is hope for a new beginning. Leaving Joel's guitar behind, letting her grievances wither up, and accepting that the past is unchangeable, Ellie sets off to find where the apocalypse will take her next.

    .
Aún así es mi punto de vista.

Maybe I was biased against it, after all, it isn't only a console game, but a Sony product, and due to a few scandals at Sony and its subsidiaries I wouldn't buy a Sony product even if it would be near perfect. Maybe I was biased against it, because I have seen gameplay videos and seen some pretty lazy writing that made the game weaker, and the only kind of action games I enjoy are the ones that come with a good story.

Maybe. But with all the nice graphics and audio, they have spent a lot of money on elements that were important in a lot of games I have played, and those games just didn't age well. They have spent a lot of money on aesthetics that would be surpassed in next-generation, even at lower costs. Yet in the writing, I have seen some cheap tricks. When someone who will at other places enjoy hurting others (and acting like a psycho) just happily playing with dogs to build sympathy that is cheap and bad writing.

Normally honest critics tend to spot such problems, but when they want to be on good terms of powerful publishers, they quickly forget how to spot that. Or they forget their integrity. If they would promise me a rather average game, with the somewhat badly written story and amazing graphics, I would feel satisfied and happy. But as both Sony and crooked reviewers promised a masterpiece it was a disappointment.

Just before I would stop feeling disappointed, there was always some minor or not so minor issue that refreshed this bad feeling. And overall we don't buy or play games to feel disappointed by them.

But as a gamer who enjoys subscription services like Origin Access or XBOX Game Pass that come with many games, I would say if they were honest about it and would promise a mediocre game, it wouldn't be much worse than a random game in the vault.

It wouldn't be much worse than "fan favorite" games like FIFA 2020 from EA Sports. That game is also unpopular for some reasons, but in that cases, EA makes a game for their fans, players and know we want them to spend all the money and even more (from MTX) on having good models of players, venues, etc. and they spend a lot in the graphics department, and we have to accept the not so slightly outdated gameplay.

The Last of Us 2 spent a lot of money on amazing graphics, really. Too bad that players who enjoy the franchise were attached to characters like Joel and mourn their loss. That anger combined with disappointment over the game is pretty loud on the Internet. I couldn't care less for Joel. Sony lost me when they had their rootkit issue, when they mishandled data breaches, when they betrayed the trust of customers repeatedly and acted all entitled about it. So there was no way for me to care about Joel. But it looks like Sony forgot the fact they should make their products for their customers.

Why? Because they knew they can get away with it. People will buy The Last of Us 2, they will buy Playstation 5, and at the end of the PS5 era, they will buy a game that will be twice as bad as The Last of Us 2. In the end, they don't lose customers there, and they will be able to sell a few Bravia TVs to the "brave" leftish "social justice" warriors, whose bravery ends when they aren't protected from negative opinions by their mob mentality and their safe spaces.

it is a game that just represents Sony so perfectly...

Killing Joel in the beginning of the game was an awful decision, specially the way they did it, turning him into a gullible character, contrasting the first game. The way they tried to make Abby into a somewhat good character with understandable intentions was pitiful, by introducing her as just a stranger to the story that just decides to kill Joel in cold blood ruins any intention of an invested player trying to understand her, making the 10/15 (!) hours that you will have to play with her painful. Seems highly unlikely he would be caught without a firearm and in the scenario he was in, Tommy too, these guys were seasoned survivors, and they were caught with their pants down? No, just No. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game is beutiful, no other way to say it. Seattle looks amazing truly gives you the feeling of being in a city that is almost fully reclaimed by nature.

Gameplay hasent changed much from the last game which i find pretty sad. After 7 years I was hoping for some improvements especially to those clunky aiming mechanics. They also had almost no enviornmental puzzles like in the first game which dident help much with giving the gameplay loop some variety. You pretty much just sneak around while stealth killing people for most of the game which does get pretty boring after a while.

The story was the most disappointing part of the game. I never played the last of us for it's gameplay for me it was always about the story. The first game is probably the most satisfying story in any game that I have played so far so I had high hopes for this one but sadly it did not deliver at all. The pacing feels at times really wonky and parts of the story just appear really forced. Joel's death felt very hollow, instead of a stark emotional moment it felt draining and did not really make me want to play more of this game. I was sure from the beginning that at some point joel would lose his live somehow but I did not expect this to happen in the first 2 hours of the game. The last of us 1 was so amazing because of the interactions and chemistry between Joel and Ellie. The little conversations they had while you traversed the world made it feel so much more alive while in this you mostly walk around alone talking to yourself from time to time but that is about it.

The second half of the game just feels like a giant poorly written sidequest where you get to play as Abby the person who murdered Joel. Naughty Dog tries to humanize the people you are hunting down with a 10 hour side adventure. I feel like this part could have been much shorter and in the end was a bit unnecessary. From the beginning I was sure that Abby's group where also just normal people like everyone else that had a good reason for hunting Joel but some of their characters are just written so shallow that you still dont care about most of them in the end.

The end of this game just feels like a cop out and I still wish they would give you the option to just drown Abby. They try to throw a final gut punch by showing a flashback of Joel where Ellie decides to try and repair their relationship shortly before he died. This could have been shown at the beginning of the game to give some depth to Ellies quest for vengeance since they make it appear for most of the game that they had been estranged at the point where he was killed. This feels like a sad attempt to get an undeserved emotional response from the player since the ending is anything other then satisfying.

All in all this game has been a big disappointment, it lost most of the charm that made the first last of us such a unique and wonderful experience. You will barely interact with Joel except for a few flashbacks even tough the trailers make it appear as if he has a bigger part in the story which I found such a waste of a great character.

Between The Trolls rating 1's despite likely not playing the game and the people who missed the point of the story, this will be rated lower than it truly deserves. In this game, Naughty Dog told a story which asked people to set aside their own biases and their own hate and the game put them in the shoes of the "other" to get the player to understand another person's perspective.Between The Trolls rating 1's despite likely not playing the game and the people who missed the point of the story, this will be rated lower than it truly deserves. In this game, Naughty Dog told a story which asked people to set aside their own biases and their own hate and the game put them in the shoes of the "other" to get the player to understand another person's perspective. Unfortunately, there are too many unwilling or just incapable of that. I consider this game to basically be a sociology experiment that has revealed so much about so many people. Expand

Amazing game! Technically superior in every way, controls are amazing and graphics are some of the best ever. Great story, very intense. Loss of point for too much Abby and the story did drag slightly.

The journey focuses on showing how much ellie's self-centeredness is destroying everything around her, what she is sacrificing to have a meaningless revenge.

    But why meaningless?

Because ellie’s feeling isn’t about hate or because abby killed Joel but because she couldn’t get a chance to apologize, ellie isn’t angry at abby but at herself for not giving Joel the value while she was alive and because of that selfishness, which is already present when she didn’t put herself in the shoes of the joel when she discovered the truth, she puts herself to the test by trying to make sense of it all, but on the way she loses everything, her friends die, their chance to have a family is destroyed and the brother of their former "father" was sequelted besides she lost her fingers and can no longer play the guitar, the strongest and most palpable memory she had of joel.

So when she finds herself threatening to kill a child who was passed out and strangling a person who was malnourished who was tortured for days, she realizes how far she has gone and that is losing her humanity for nothing and most importantly THE DEATH OF ABBY IT WON'T GIVE HER CHANCE TO APOLOGIZE, it won't make Joel come back to life, so she gives up and leaves, it makes perfect sense, the character is humanized like everyone else in the cast, the last of us is a realistic game that deals with people's errors, choices and the consequences of their actions and that no one was right from the very beginning, and that's why the story is fantastic.

Stupid criticism from stupid people ... a 0/10 point is simply impossible with an AAA title
Just because some small things don't suit the whole game suddenly bad?
Gameplay / story / sound / design all bad? When I played the game it was never unpleasant for me or it was forced on me that Eli loves a woman or maybe she is just in her discovery phase .. go out and program your own

This game is an absolute wreck. A build up of 2 hours to negate everything the first game set up. My god. What a dumpster fire of a game and honestly, I dont even want to finish it. Currently streaming it online but I can tell, even the audience is bored watching. I do not recommend you buy this. Naughty dog should understand their failures and correct them. The last of us 2, es una experiencia sumante interesante; la historia es sumanmente inesperada; (tomando como base el anterior juego) la direccion que tomaron es una que no me esperaba para nada, esta cargada de sentimientos, sentimientos transmitidos completamente a travez de todo esta experiencia jugable; por su direccion de arte, banda sonora , escenarios y jugabilidad; la cual de hecho es excelente tambien, similar al 1, pero con mejoras lo cual a si mismo le da un toque freco y mas disfrutable que su anterior entrega; lo recomiendo rotundamente.

Whoever played the first The Last of Us knows that the story of the game was completely thrown in the trash in 2, also for the sake of sealing on EXTREMELY irrelevant subjects in a post-apocalyptic world. The game came out of a story of action, survival and suspense to become a game of social agendas, revenge and the like.

Several fans have waited for the continuation since the first game's release, looking forward to Joel's story, Ellie's development and their father-daughter relationship. So don't try to shove me down my throat because the reason they don't like the game is because the "main" character (Ellie) is a strong woman, "outside the box" and not sexualized. We all knew about Ellie's sexual orientation and it was never a negative issue or a complaint.

    * And here begins the spoilers: *
The **** already starts for them killing the MOST IMPORTANT character in the franchise, because yes, Ellie is very important, Joel's brother, sister-in-law, fireflies and all the other characters were VERY important, but not as much as Joel, precisely because we (fans) have an immense connection with the character from the beginning, when we are forced to guide a story where Joel sees his own daughter die and becomes a bitter crown. Yes, he "had" to die, but ..

After you spend incredible moments of emotional attachment with a character, they just throw you an anonymous you've never seen in the game and force you to play with her to kill that same character that you created an incredible and loving bond with, again, DICK IN YOUR CU naughtydog!

The personality of Joel that we met in the first game was totally ridiculed, he was someone who didn’t say the name to strangers and was suspicious of his own shadow to a man who enters a stranger’s home and still says "it seems like a good idea" .
The fact that he is not a long-playable character and that his death is not controlled by the player is another ridiculous thing to see.

Ellie treats Joel's death as "I'm going to kill her in memory of Joel". I honestly didn't feel that she really felt angry, not like Joel who was almost blinded by hatred / sadness when his daughter died and when they take Ellie to the hospital. They could have worked on it MUCH better and more elaborately.

And after that, the game rolls for revenge. It is revenge for killing Joel, revenge for killing an alleged scientist father who nobody knew about and much less cared about, it’s a gay sex scene, it’s that **** appeal of “I don’t want to talk to that prejudiced person”. Ellie, who was that strong child / pre-teen and who literally SAVED Joel's life in the first game, turns a **** revolutionary (avengers) IN A POST-APOCALYPTIC WORLD.

It is worth making it clear that the game itself is not bad, the story it is. Good graphics, good gameplay, good character development, but for a continuation of such a rewarded and expected game, yes, I expected something better

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
