Es muy forzado con la introducción de nuevos personajes y con el afán de llegar a sentir una conexión con el jugador. Las decisiones tomadas para desarrollar la historia son pésimas. Gráficamente no sorprende. El final es horrible ya que no te permite elegir y no te llena.

    A pesar del lamentable ataque injustificado en su salida, es importante después de acabarlo y platinarlo aclarar cada parte del juego:

    Jugabilidad: se siente la evolución desde la primera parte, brindando grandes opciones para enfrentar las situaciones, ya sea de forma sigilosa o totalmente como una maquina de matar. Gráficos: Me parece que las imágenes hablan por sí mismas, una gran    A pesar del lamentable ataque injustificado en su salida, es importante después de acabarlo y platinarlo aclarar cada parte del juego:

    Jugabilidad: se siente la evolución desde la primera parte, brindando grandes opciones para enfrentar las situaciones, ya sea de forma sigilosa o totalmente como una maquina de matar.

    Gráficos: Me parece que las imágenes hablan por sí mismas, una gran forma de cerrar la generación actual, todas las texturas con un gran nivel de detalle, incluso se puede apreciar las texturas en la ropa, y los rostros de los personajes sumamente expresivos.

    Sonido: Al igual que el primero juega un papel importante aqui, no solo por el soundtrack que te ira acompañando para cada situación, también es importante para poder detectar a los enemigos (ellos podrán hacer lo mismo si haces ruido al correr o pisar objetos como cristales rotos), o incluso grandes detalles como poder abrir las cajas fuertes guiandote por el sonido.

    Diseño: Este es un punto que merece la pena destacar, todos los escenarios por diseño permiten explotar todas las situaciones desde diferentes ángulos, y está de una forma excelente retratado la union de restos de edificios y calles en conjunto a la naturaleza, mostrando estampas post apocalipticas muy pocas veces vistas.

    Historia: Este es uno de los puntos más atacados, pero es importante resaltar que no porque sea mala, desde antes del lanzamiento se habia comentado que dividiria a los usuarios y me parece que eso es acertado, es mundo que siempre ha buscado retratar de forma realista y cruda el mundo, por lo que no esperen historias típicas del héroe donde toda su vida tiene tintes magníficos y heroicos, muestra la realidad de supervivientes en un mundo cruel, y a lo largo de todo el juego se construye una narrativa acerca de lo venganza y lo mucho que pueden destruir sus consecuencias, el final es cierto no agradara a todos, pero no por eso es malo, al avanzar y vivir toda la historia para llegar al punto final va en concordancia con todo lo ocurrido, por lo que es una historia que tiene claro sus objetivos y los cumple, que a cada uno le agradece o los entienda dependera mucho de que tipo de usuarios seas.

    Conclusión: El juego es una experiencia que vale la pena, por todos los apartados podrás experimentar diferentes emociones, y que a cada uno podrá llevar al limite de diferentes maneras, si eres usuario de ps4 y lo empiezas con la mente abierta a disfrutar y poder entender la motivacióin de cada uno de sus personajes y porque hacen lo que hacen, sera mucho más gratificante de lo que puedas esperar.    … Expand

Es impactante como todoslos escenarios estan tan cuidados, los interiores de cada casa a la q entras son increibles, una cantidad de detalles por todos lados espectacular, el agua, los reflejos, la iluminacion, el efecto mojado en las superficies, la vejetacion... estan tan bien hechos q estoy maravillado , relamente no puedo dejar de decir q es INCREIBLE. Los rostros de los enemigos SON DIFERENTES, no son todos iguales y es otro de los detalles q no se puede creer.
    (A nivel grafico, en mi opinion es el mejor juego q existe hasta el momento inclutidas todas las plataformas Xbox, Ps4 o Pc SIN DUDA ALGUNA)
    La historia es espectacular, llenisima de emociones. Nunca un videojugo me provoco tantas emociones como este juego (Odio, Bronca, Tristeza, Agustia, Impresion, TENSION... Uffff realmente increible y lleno de sorpresas constantemente.
    MEJOR QUE UNA PUTA PELICULA. INCREIBLE LO QUE HICIERON.
    Para gustos los colores, AMI ME PARECIO INCREIBLE Y MAS Q A LA ALTURA DE UNA PUTA PELICULA!!

    This is an amazing game. Amazing story and characters. Unfortunately getting review bombed by homophobes within hours of release. They never played it. Look at the score it has on the playstation store. There you have to have purchased the game to rate it. ~ 13k reviews there have it at 4.5/5

    The Last of Us, I'm sorry to say is nothing special. We all know its uncharted with zombies. What made the first game so great was the story. When you take the exact same gameplay, add a few tweaks here and there, and then make the story terrible; what is the point in playing? I gave this a 0 because it just isn't the sequel, I'm still waiting on that one.

If you want to pay 60 bucks to do unsatisfying things and have an unsatisfying ending be my guest.     Really enjoyed it and I am on my second play through now. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys good writing and thought provoking narratives. Play the game for yourself, there’s so much more to it than any leak could show

    But let me do some revenge to the 100/100 masterpiece of the year first, this is one of the biggest joke in 3A game industry ever made. It maybe should have 4~8/10 for actuar score but for now i don't care about it.

    Can't believe there is only a few of the "pro" reviewers have their own will to telling us, the players, the costumers that "this game is not perfect, and might be worse then prequel". I know it is hard to write bad thing when you need to rely them for a job. But before all of that, you are media, not some trained dogs of the companys, and almost all of you are losing credit from us.     Next is gameplay, which didn't change much from the first TLOU. The game feels like a walking simulator with occasional button mashing and shooting. I did like the diversity of character styles, but the combat system left much to be desired. After a 7 year wait for this game, I feel that it lacked substantial change and did not separate itself from the original style. Overall, I would give Gameplay a 3/10. Lastly, visuals and eye candy. This game is substantially better looking than the original. Lots of great views and settings that show how much care went into the visual development. Occasionally the facial expressions of characters are a little unsettling and awkward to look at, but it is new tech, so we won't put too much of a penalty for it. Overall, visuals sit at a very nice 9/10!

    Final average score puts this game at a ⁵/10. I wouldn't recommend buying it unless you are okay with drawn out walking segments, lackluster combat, and a story that doesn't make much sense.    … Expand

    I have just put this game down after 31hrs and I am genuinely speechless. It's so rare to feel like you are playing something that is not only moving the medium forward in new and unprecedented ways, but also transcends and subverts all expectations in regards to narrative and storytelling. The story with Ellie is awesome I was hyped as to go all John Wick on Joel’s killers and the gameplay/visuals are great as well but the switch half way through to Abby just takes you out of the game so much. You don’t want her to win and it’s so so hard to feel any sympathy for her at all as she just killed Joel (pretty much Ellie's dad) because Joel murder her father. And the ending wow... I mean cmon you could of at least gave Ellie her revenge she’s lost so much and I know there’s meant to be “no good or bad guys” just everyone sucks and but cmon man Joel died for nothing.… Expand

The characters are completely unlikable and don't feel like the same people from the first game. The whole plot is so convoluted and doesn't flow well togethor. You'd think with all the time Naughty Dog spent on the game, they would have made this even better than the first one. Overall gameplay and mechanics are slightly updated versions of the first game. In all honesty, I believe Naughty Dog should completely redo the game in order to please diehard fans like myself. The things done in this game are just disgusting and a disgrace to the first game. For that I can only give this game a 3/10.… Expand

These were wonderful times, because I was really interested in watching the flow of events around the two main characters - Joel and Ellie. I have been waiting for this game for 5 years, really waiting and hoping that it will exceed all my expectations. I bought this game in the very first minutes, as soon as the pre-order became available. This game brought me Heartbreak, bitterness, and so on. I absolutely did not like the plot. Head writer Neil Druckmann tells us about the violence. But where was the violence at the end? Everyone has to pay for their mistakes, but did Abby pay? No, it was Jesse, Owen, Mell, and most importantly, Joel, but not her. The most disgusting thing in this game is to play for this girl, and fight with your favorite characters, who have become a family for us. I paid money for emotions, emotions that hurt me. It can be quite long and upsetting, but it pays out. The game broke me emotionally. My only complain would be that in the first battle between Ellie and Abby, you are forced to play as Abby and I think that it would have much better if you played as Ellie and let everything the same. Ellie still loses and the story continues. As the gamer plays as Abby, it is quite obvious that the game is not over. And if you played with Ellie it could be quite shocking watching her lose and then continue the story. Other than that, I absolutely loved it.     Now I pre ordered the deluxe edition (matter of fact i cant get a return for that) and i was so anxious about playing it but...

    - Graphics were ok, from the 2017 trailer to the last product, there is a downgrade, ok i didnt care that much. God of War look much way better
    - Gameplay was poor, the same moves, the same was to fight, no evolution after all.
    - Sound was marvelous, dont argue with that
    - History and plot: this is the big dowsizing about the game, not even waited more than 2 hours, and Joel is dead... i mean wtf, he was the hero of the game, i wanted to know more about Jackson, how was the live there, how they can analyze Ellie for getting a cure, i dont know but she went to a cruzade, killing all living and dead just to get Joels murdered and forgive her....WTF thats just stupid come on. A horrible plot, no evolution on the game...why is that a zombie game anymore

I think the writing was a bit sloppy in parts, specifically with Joel but there's also some really amazing writing and character's I fell in love with.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After playing the game and watching others play it, I must say that this game is probably the biggest letdown in gaming for me personally. This game was actually so bad to me that I created an account to express my displeasure.

    Admittedly, the game does have some good aspects to it, good graphics, VA, music, and the gameplay is good if you enjoyed the first TLOU gameplay. However, if you found the gameplay of the first game to be mediocre or bad, do not expect anything new from this game, most of the changes are purely cosmetic.

    The problems:
    Before I get into the atrocious story, I want to first talk about some of the glitches that occur in the game that many people seem to overlook. Kill/execution animations do not play out correctly (models would seemingly disappear), camera problems during interactions, and not being able to fire my gun during scripted segments of the game. Just to name a few.

    This game also has many "walking simulator" areas, just walking without end and nothing really happening. It starts to take away from the story and bore the player.

    I also wanted to discuss the discrepancy in the trailers compared to the game. In the trailer, you will see Joel with a big beard and looking much older than he does in-game, this is because they wanted to make it look like he has a bigger role in the game. Most of the scenes that feature Joel in the trailer are flashbacks in the game and looks younger in-game. There is also one scene in the trailer where Joel catches up with Ellie, in the game, it's a completely different person. Some pretty shady stuff if you ask me.

    The story is the biggest problem of this game. In TLOU 1, the story was the focal point of the game, the created bond between Joel and Ellie to form a father-daughter relationship. Part 2 throws that everything that TLOU 1 created for shock value (killing Joel), to make way for a character named Abby. If you liked the first game for its story at all you will probably not like her as she is Joel's killer. You are then forced to play as her for about roughly 60% of the game (25 hours long by the way) in the game's attempt to make you sympathize with her. If you are someone like me who wanted her dead, that also sucks for you because Ellie's revenge campaign against Abby ends in sparing her life while losing two fingers in the process.

    This game has a basic revenge story that uses Joel's death to start the entire story tries to sell the "revenge is a vicious cycle" trope and how people should try and seek forgiveness in others regardless of what they have done. This would be slightly better if Abby was in any way likeable but still, it is a weak plotline.

    This bad story also has more problems given bad character development, plot holes, and holes in the decision making of a character.

    A few examples:
    - Joel and Tommy who have survived at least 3 decades follow random strangers into a trap after saving Abby.
    - Ellie, in a cutthroat post-apocalyptic world, spares Abby after killing countless amounts of people including some of her own men. Ellie will even execute Abby in the aquarium fight if you mess up but has a change of heart at the end?
    - Dina, who was Ellie's partner for a while, abandons Ellie at the end of the game for no apparent reason.
    - Tommy suffers a gunshot to the head and survives despite being in the middle of nowhere with little medical treatment (granted, I am ok with this happening, but still is a plot hole nonetheless).
    - A member of an opposing faction saves Abby from certain death.
    - They give Abby many superficial opportunities to look like a good person.

    I am aware that TLOU 1 had plot holes as well, but there were fewer instances and it did not affect character development.

    What the developers do not realize is that yes, there are two sides to every coin, but many people have already picked their side. You can't just have Abby kill Joel and think that she will be redeemed by showing off all the good stuff she has done.

    The worst part about this whole thing is that I personally didn't think that The Last of Us needed a sequel, and this game trying to justify its existence makes it that much worse.

    In my honest opinion, I think this game is a 4-5/10, but the people controlling Metacritic are fixing the reviews so I'm making this a 0/10.

    Please do not buy this game, it will show developers that they can get away with **** writing and little to no improvements to a game just because its predecessor was a masterpiece.    … Expand

However, as you may already know the story was quite opposite. People who worked on the first one didn’t work on the second one and I think that’s one of the reason it’s on that level. A lot of the plot seems very forced and the timings are just plain stupid. Ellie and Dina are making out just before the death of Joel, imagine the guilt. While Joel, tommy and Abby are running from the infected, tommy out of nowhere just tells Abby their names, while literally running from zombies For no reason And it felt so forced you could really tell it and it just took you out of the immersion. Abby was saved by Joel and didn’t even think twice before brutally torturing him to death that is either very lazy story telling or the studio wanted us to have hatred against Abby. If so, then why on earth did we play as her for 10 hours, the game tries and makes us feel bad for her but it’s just made everyone hate her even more. She has done so many evil actions. The flashbacks were what everyone really loved and honestly they should release a game with just the flashbacks. Naughty dog is known for misleading trailers even in tlou1. In the ending where Ellie is about to kill Abby she gets a flashback of Joel and instead of getting angrier she just lets her Abby go. All in all, it felt like a very forced game with very little reasoning and I feel like it could have been much better if the staff of the previous one worked on this one aswell.… Expand

    And then the finale comes. At this moment your mouth is literally 1 second to explode. You have no other feelings except this torture to end. And game developers remove duct tape They explain you motivations of main heroes, their feelings, their metamorphosis, what they become. And you feel catarsys, you scream, but not because you emphathize to heroes. You scream because you finally free your mouth of this 25-30 hours of vomit.
    The story is great. Not original, but still great. And if it is told during 5 minutes it can even make your eyes wet. The graphics, landscapes, environment, music - all of this is fantastic.
    But with all those physically and mentally disgusting characters; illogical actions; forcefully shoved SJW content; not a single chance for player to make his own decision - all of those make make players to remember only taste of vomit in their mouths.    … Expand

    There is a whole host of good in the game, but those diamonds are not worth the mountain of dirt needed to claw through to reach it. I will touch upon graphics, sound, gameplay, and then story.

    Graphics:

    Definitely a step up in visual fidelity for this generation. Facial animation rarely gets this good in AAA games. You will constantly be in awe at the amount of detail, design, and animation present. The game runs at checkerboard 4K on the PS4 pro, but unfortunately it runs at a capped 30fps and occasionally dips down to the low 20s, so if you're a PC gamer used to 60fps and above you may want to skip this. There is also this awful film grain effect always present that cannot be disabled like the motion blur and camera shake can be.

    Sound:

    Amazing sound design, the library of ambient and dynamic noise in this game is basically perfect. The music is perfect, although some segments of the gameplay are silent where you have no companion to speak to and no atmosphere to suck in. A good tune or two in these segments would have helped alleviate boredom. Another issue with the sound is that the volume mixing isn't as clean as it could be, your companion footsteps are just as loud as yours and enemies two rooms over can sound as if they're a few feet away. Rather than using your own sense of sound, you're a slave to the game's listen mode that highlights enemies through walls. I'm sure, however, that tweaking the deep sound settings could help this as you can tweak dynamic range, sound source angles, etc. The majority of players will not do this however.

    Gameplay:

    Rather than advancing the formula from the first game, Naughty Dog decided to advance it "diagonally", in that some things are better and some things are changed just for the sake of it. Swapping weapons before getting new holsters is the exact same except you press X instead of Square. Changing shoulder aim is still done while aiming but you press Square instead of R1. You still craft a few new items but sometimes they're just not worth using unless you're in a situation where you're desperately using everything you have. You can go prone in grass now to hide, but it's functionally the same as if they had just added more cover everywhere. You can jump but it's useless outside of linear traversal.

    Gunplay has not evolved in a meaningful way since the first game. You're still expected to go for headshots constantly, in spite of the artificial aim sway and having to aim with a thumbstick, as well as a bloomed reticule that never shrinks to pinpoint accuracy ala Red Dead Redemption. Do yourself a favor and disable camera sway in the accessibility options and increase your FOV. Enemies are still bullet sponges unless you get head-shots or opt for melee. You can easily be stun locked to death, or knocked down as an NPC tags you with a John Wick shot the second you poke your head out. Though combat never gets hard, it can easily be more annoying than fun at times. The game clearly wants to encourage stealth.

    The stealth in this series has not taken any meaningful less from the greatest stealth games released in the past decade. Enemies have more realistic sight lines (sometimes, sometimes you can walk clear past them in plain view) meaning you need to move between cover more often and look for openings. However, you have a very slow movement speed meaning if an enemy decides to randomly turn around you have to pray you'll make it to the next bit of cover before he sees you. Even this is inconsistent though, as VERY often I'll be detected up to 5 seconds after moving behind cover. TLOU1 and 2 also commit the stealth game sin where one enemy detects you and everyone knows where you are, even if they don't get a chance to shoot or scream.

    The tools they give you to navigate these stealth challenges are basic; some silenced weapons, throwables, and a takedown. Silenced weapons are only useful if you can reliably headshot every enemy in the level first try. Throwables are abundant, until they aren't. Melee takedowns are incredibly slow and can get you in more trouble than sneaking by, only effective if near cover or isolated. Levels cannot be ghosted intuitively first try, as it relies more on map knowledge and patrol routes than skill.

    The "puzzles" in this game are awful and usually just amount to going the long way or reusing elements you'll learn in the first 3 hours without any creativity, or finding a paper that gives you a safe combo.

    This game is just heart breakingly disappointing comparing this to previous Naughty Dog titles and feels like major kick in the face compared to the first game. It lacks all the organic subtlety and beautiful character relationships of the first game. There are so many ham fisted attempts to get players to feel a certain way that they can see it a mile away as shallow and forced.

    The lack of different beats through this game made it dull and repetitive. Almost the entire game focuses on showcasing as much gore and how "dark" the game is while flashbacks of happier times appear to add no meaning to the plot.
    The writers want you to feel morally gray and think about all the npc's as being people and yet lack the time and effort in humanizing them which leaves you with subpar characters that are one dimensional. Either that or the main characters have drastic mood swings jumping from one morality to another instead of properly building character development and don't appear to reflect real human beings. The game seems to hold itself on a high pedestal for showcasing a diverse ethnic cast with people of various different sexual orientations yet appear to use them as a gimmick or they have no development or they get killed off quickly.
    It's just incredibly sad to see how this company appears to have dropped the ball on such a beautiful franchise. I wanted to love this game so badly and I just couldn't when I see them hit every writing mistake you should never do in a story. It just seems like these wasn't enough testing of the game to make sure everything read well and hit the correct target audience.
    Note that I also wasn't spoiled by any leaks. I saw this game with fresh eyes and it still made me disappointed. The game is pretty and gameplay is fun which are it's only saving graces.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED IN THIS GAME. Such high hopes. What a letdown. I will never forgive Neil Druckmann for ruining what was supposed to be the highlight of my year. This has been 28 hours of my life I will NEVER get back. I missed seeing the NASA launch for this game. I missed picking up my FATHER from the AIRPORT who has been OVERSEAS for 15 YEARS. I missed the birth of my twin sons so thanks a lot Neil Druckmann for NOTHING… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
