    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The last of us part 2 was an overall depressing departure from what we came to love in the original. Characters were uninteresting. Gameplay was basically unchanged despite some minor changes. Can not deny the visuals are beautiful. However, nothing will remedy the fact that 10 hours of the game should have been avoided and should be avoided entirely. What was anticipated as a major success, really turned out to be a major bust. If this were a standalone game perhaps it wouldn’t be as bad. Sadly this is a sequel to a much beloved game, that does very little to improve upon it, if not muddy the waters. #sad… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I had high hopes for this game because everything Naughty Dog makes is a masterpiece. This is the exception. The story was awful. I hated Abby from the get-go even before she killed Joel. Hated playing as her. She did have some fun skills/abilities but playing as the person that killed Joel for half the game? Are you kidding me? By the time I started playing as Abby again after she raided the theater I was bored of the game. Only reason I kept playing was because I loved the first game and wanted to find out the ending. Never did I think I would have to play as Abby for another 10-20 hours. This game dragged and dragged while you played as Abby . Only reason I’m not giving this game lower rating is because the combat/gameplay and graphics were amazing. But sadly that’s not enough to make a game a “masterpiece” for me. I realize sequels are very rarely as good or better than the original. But red dead redemption 2 was better than rdr1 imo so I know a great gaming company can do it. I hate to give such a low rating as I consider myself to be a glad half full kind of person but I just didn’t not enjoy anything in this game except the combat and graphics. I don’t totally hate the fact that Joel died for the sake of the story. I get it. Gotta move on or the game would be the same as the last. I can’t think of anything else that would have motivated me more to play this game. But by the end I was relieved I was finally done with this game. The ending was trash. You travel to California to kill Abby to finally avenge Joel and Ellie just lets her go when she’s about to kill her. That’s the only reason I kept playing. So I could kill Abby which was THE WHOLE POINT OF THE GAME. Awful. That’s all I gotta say. Play the game but don’t get your hopes up. I did and was thoroughly disappointed.… Expand

    O melhor jogo que já joguei de longe, história muito madura e bem feita, o final talvez eu mudaria, porém compreendo qual foi a escolha feita, e acho que faz muito sentido. Obrigado ND por mais essa obra prima!

Building characters that don’t even make any sense, the way they killed beloved characters, Don’t give a **** for their fan base and put you in a situation that you have to play with the most ridiculous characters while you chase you favorite character.

    This game was not what was advertised on trailers and it's so deceitful. Do not let the "good" reviews fool you. I pre-ordered the game and painfully played through it. Not once did i feel any resolve.     Leading up to the release I already knew this game would be a disappointment. I am now currently replaying the first game so I can actually feel something good after all of the joy was sucked out of me. Terrible writing, zero character development, the plot?... cancer. I got zero satisfaction from playing this game. Don’t buy it.

    I just finished the game for myself, and I can confidently say that in my opinion it is better than Part I and is one of the best games I have ever played. The game is very divisive, most people really hate it or really love it. You should definitely at some point give the game a chance and form your own opinion!

    Extremely boring gameplay just as the first game was! The character-development is atrocious. The graphics and the physics seem to be pretty good, unfortunately it is completely unplayable on the PS4.

    Everything other than the story from this game is good. Good graphics, beautiful music. But the story is really S***. For whoever haven’t play this game, just play TLOU 1 and don’t waste your money on this beautiful ****.

    I think this is a pretty decent game made with love and care to details. At first glance there are some questionable plot decisions, but later you beginning to understand that there is narrative reasons for everything.

The graphics and game play are excellent. But come on, the trailers are fake. They lead us to believe that our beloved people would be kept safe and instead were not. If anyone out there want's to buy this. Before you play it prepare to be disappointed so Naughty Dogs cant. We the player have to sit back and watch the man who could kill waves of highly trained military soldiers to some friendly low IQ man who acts like he is not in a room full of random people. *Warning* *Spoilers* *Ahead* We have to watch Joel die. Leading Ellie on this revenge mission against his killer, Abby. Through the story we are switched between Ellie and Abby. But they make us try to feel for Abby and make Ellie the bad guy in all of this. Leading to her killing everyone involved in Joel's murder but the person who killed him. Then the dev teams blame the users not liking the game on homophobia. The only person in this game that is LGBT+ is Ellie and we all love Ellie. But then we have these paid off IGN and Critics giving the game 8+ out of 10. It's just crazy. I waited 7 years, to see Joel get killed by a 9 Iron and then get forced to try to sympathize with his killer. Also having to watch a sex scene with Abby. Was just, awkward. Tbh bad game overall, save your money. Thank the saints who leaked this bogus game for us.… Expand

    I was really hyped for this game, but thankfully my collectors edition got cancelled a month ago, and I saved up a lot of money, the game is beautiful, voice acting is great, gameplay hasn't improved in 7 years, which is both good and bad, but this score is this low only because of a terrible story and false advertising.

    The visuals and graphics were amazing and and gameplay mechanics felt so smooth and intuitive with plenty of good response. The story was compelling but I felt some slight restructuring of the story order could have made Abby a more compelling protagonist and could have really allowed for rebranding of the franchise in a more favorable light

Até então nenhuma outra produtora teve culhões para criar uma história tão impactante, trabalhando com maestria as emoções dos jogadores como na trama construída em The Last of Us (tanto no part 1 como no part 2). A inovação trazida pela Naughty Dog é gigantescas. Muitos precisam entender que a INOVAÇÂO é um novo divisor de águas... (Spoiler!!!) O jogo, trabalha a opção sexual dos personagens de forma genuína, assim como a construção de sua trama, não é um jogo para pessoas pequenas (e não me refiro a menores de 18, isto já esta em sua classificação e não tem o que discutir), é um jogo para adultos de mentes abertas ou que pelo menos estão dispostos a se permitirem experienciar um jogo (obra prima), onde o mesmo não se limita a criação de seus personagem "invencíveis" como em outros jogos, este jogo, não se baseia nisso. Em como um "herói" consegue ultrapassar gerações e gerações e continuar sendo "amado". Pelo contrário, ele mostra gente como a gente, pessoas lutando como você e eu poderíamos lutar em um mundo pós apocalíptico, histórias que beiram a perfeição de uma realidade caótica, onde heróis são coisas do passado e a luta pela sobrevivência, juntamente com sua gama complexa de objetivos comuns enraizados de medo, frustração, insegurança, vingança, esperança, amor etc. Sentimentos humanos, apenas humanos, cada qual lutando pelo que acredita, porem cegos para o caus comum que os rodeiam (muito real no mundo "normal" e triplamente aguçado em um apocalipse). Enfim, este jogo não é sobre simplesmente um ou dois personagens que nos cativa ou nos trás sentimentos de raiva, mas uma cadeia infinitas de outros personagens que poderão surgir e escrever sua história em The Last Of Us. Ou seja, este jogo, é uma verdadeira aula de como sentimos nossas emoções, como lidamos com nosso amor e ao ver isto tirado de nós, como lidamos com a frustração, a raiva o ódio, a vingança e a empatia pelo próximo.     The amount of efforts that's been put into this game is truly incredible. This has the best graphics of the ps4 era. I was never impressed by graphics as much as i was here. Regarding the controversy surrounding the stories, I really didn't enjoy Abby's storyline and i didn't like her character. There is no villain. You will find out that abby was stimulated by the same motives that stimulated ellie. All the atrocities both did was to avenge or save their loved ones.     9/10 for me. I like the detail of the graphics and this is the best game graphics i have ever seen so far. The little detail of everything combined with an amazing lightning is very amazing. This game is a semi open world which people who buys this game can enjoy the game to the fullest despite how expensive and how big the size the game is. The game literally had me in my feels from beginning to end did not think I'd grow to like Abby's character as much as I did but I believe that the story teaches a very powerful message about how revenge can feel good at the time and seem justified but can also rob you of all you hold dear the enemies are extremely smart and keep you on your toes and feel very human the world itself is gorgeous and highly detailed and I love crazy amount of options put in the game it made it very easy for even my wife to play it so thanks for that as well… Expand

There are some shards of good writing (specially in the flashbacks), but in general just a amator plot that tries too hard to hide the criticism by adding liberal agenda (I don't care) and accusing any critic of "hur dur homophobia". It's pathetic and, if you look at the news titles regarding fans score, it's effective. What frustrating me more is that it does haveFanfic writing at best.     The TLOU in my opinion was never really about the characters or the story it was more like about ideas and morals. The focus of the first game was on selfishness while the sequel shows how revenge can be a vicious never ending cycle which can claim your soul. If you think the game is garbage just because the story unfolds as it does or because what happens to some characters than you missed the whole point of the game and yes whether some people like it or not this game does require some intelligence and a certain age. Not because of the brutality mostly because you can only understand what you see in this game if you have experience in life.     Gameplay: 8/10 It's the same gameplay as the first game, for better or worse. Slightly worse in some areas but can't complain about what was already good having some stains.

    Graphics: 10/10. Look at it. What do I need to explain?

    Consistency: 4/10 What is consistency? Why it's keeping things in line with established knowledge and lore. This game fails at it on several occasions. The inconsistency on Joel's personality, Ellie's personality, Ellie's immunity, and established clicker lore is terrible.

    Story: 4/10 Look at this point I don't need to tell you how to feel about the story. Personally I thought it was trite and poorly handled. I have some closing thoughts but as a story, it's okay at best. The beats and ideas they chose to do aren't the problems. It's arriving at them and how they're handled. None of these ideas are new, but the presentation and manner we experience them are **** terrible. That being said, Ellie and Dina do not have the carrying power that Joel and Ellie had, or even Nathan and anyone else in an Uncharted game. Maybe you'll feel differently and be engaged but for me, they were boring.

    PR: 0/10 [SPOILERS IN THIS SECTION] Neil Druckmann, regardless of what can be proven or not strikes me as insufferable. To the potential OC who spits on our old protagonist and almost shoots the new one. The new protag who despite getting their revenge doesn't suffer for it at all. The same protag who is then **** and railed by possible Druckmann OC. The masochistic interviews that amount the game to no fun here and the alleged mistreatment of employees all really make me not like this game from the outset and I'll admit that. So if you think any part of this review has a bias, maybe that's why.

    Overall: Eh/10. I wasn't going to buy 2, but I made sure I got a taste of what's here. And what's here sucks. This feels like a video game in which Druckmann decided he'd do what he wanted, tell a story in which he spat on the first game in every conceivable way possible, and then the actual gameplay was an afterthought. I would not be surprised if there was a plan to have you run through this game with zero combat. Because Druckmann thinks he's Kojima.

    I don't know why the game seems to hate the first one so much, but it's apparent. And if you find some joy in this game, more power to you. You spent 60 bucks on this product and you deserve to get something out of it, even if I think it's a waste of your money.

    All in all, just go play Last of Us 1 and enjoy it. Because this game will actively poison any desire to revisit the franchise. If you take anything away from this review, there are better games to play, including the original. Lisa, Pathologic, and others do this kind of idea way better.

    There's a lot more to go into but I've already written way more then I was willing to.

    As a videogame it's a 6, as a sequel, it's a 4. And as a piece of media, I beg every single one of you to never play this game.

    The moment the credits rolled after I finished The Last of Us 2, there was only one feeling in my mind, sadness. Sadness of experiencing how one of the most beautiful, if not the best looking video game that I have ever played was ruined by a story that may have had potential, but failed to deliver in every possible way. Sadness of listening to Gustavo Santaolalla’s soundtrack and being frustrated with myself for not being able to feel the emotions that he would have wanted me to experience during a specific sequence or for a specific character (with just one notable exception). And it is really sad, because we can all image the hundreds and thousands of hours of effort that people at Naughty Dog put into this game. It is just inconceivable to me how they could forget what made the first game so special. And I really don’t want to judge them for the decisions they made when creating this story. I really don’t. But it just feel to me that, at that first meeting, in that first brainstorming session, someone raised their hand and said “in the end, it’s just a game, right? It’s not that people are here for the story anyways”.

I mean, not even my 14 year old cousin that does drama writing at school can come up with something so disappointing. No, I did not want a happy ending but at least some sense into it would’ve been nice. Did Joel need to go out that way? Did we need to use a character that we never heard of? Trailers are totally misleading and fake advertising. Not even R* smashed us this bad with Johnny Klebitz’ death, at least we understood his downfall with drugs and met a bigger match but someone like Joel with so much experience didn’t need to die that way.     My disappointment of the year, poorly developed characters and poorly told story, excellent graphics and gameplay of ten but the story! Oh God! What a huge disappointment and the hours you spend playing with abby were very boring and tedious, except for certain moments, this game is not to be the game of the year and much less nine or ten, I give it an eight.

    Graphics are insane for a console that's 7 years old. No Framerate issues at any time. The sound and the Soundtrack are also very good. And no bugs in my whole first playthrough. Well done Naughty Dog!

    Overall a very good game and something i didn't saw or felt before playing this masterpiece.

    Abby was the worsr part of the game mainly due to not being likable because well she killed joel... To top it all off they force you to beat up ellie as Abby... Why? Who thought that waa a smart move,who thought playig as abby was a good idea..

    The ending waa a disgrace abby gets to have her revenge get a new best friend and to top it all off has a lead to a group who can help her.

    Meanwhile Ellie gets nothing and loses everything.

    Now onto the review.

El juego se plantea como progresista, sin embargo solo termina siendo una forzoso historia que parece una burla a los temas que busca representar. Hay series animadas para niños mayores de 7 años en netflix que manejan mejor estos temas y con muchísimo menos presupuesto. Una burla.

    Al final es otra temporada más de walking dead.

    1.The trailer has fake contents. It has Joel in the game for further cutscenes. But they charged Joel to Jessie ( The Asian man). It is lying and misleading the players.
    2. Joel and Ellie’s relationship totally changed. Joel was very cool and keep his feelings in heart not on the mouth. And Ellie was really like Joel, she used to be the one to follow Joel. Now Joel turns to be a kind daddy following Ellie, which is so not Joel.... 3. Joel is Waaaay smart than this! Save unknown stranger, and follow stranger to her place and telling them his real name after he killed so many ppl? Seriously?! I won’t even do that in the ending world. 4. The story is telling us not to revenge. But how can Abby killed Joel like a dog just after Joel saved his life??? Her father was holding his knife and preparing to fight with Joel, but Joel won! It is a fair fight. Why she got the anger to do revenge that that??? There are more things I disagree and feel super disappointed with the game. Especially knowing the background story about Neil Duchkmann ( Whatever he is) I feel he added too much of his own opinion to the story and totally changed Main Character‘s personality and IQ!
